  the other topics you guys cover. So when it comes to a couple of

  local kids who are making their way to Iowa State, Trent and I

  kicked this around and I asked him about Will McLaughlin, you

  know, have you seen him play etcetera, You know, maybe at the

  state tournament because I know that they're very high on him,

  but there's so many linebackers. Bill, might he position switch
• 24:39
  being his future? Is he big enough to be a rush
• 24:41
  end? Well, I, I think that's that
• 24:45
  that has been tossed around earlier in his Iowa State
• 24:49
  career. I think the preference, though,
• 24:51
  has been to stay at linebacker. But you, you here's some, here's

  some things from recruits and stuff that I other ones that

  visited during the spring. And, and one of them in
• 25:05
  particular I talked to had mentioned that with the

  linebacker depth that they have, that they had been trotting out
• 25:11
  four guys at one time and, and trying to get some packages to
• 25:17
  utilize all of that depth that they've got at linebackers.

  So I, I would think that if they want to use more for linebackers
• 25:25
  that that gosh, will McLaughlin could be maybe that guy to come
• 25:30
  in as, as maybe an edge type of player or, or kind of a Leo

  maybe at times in, in A4 linebacker front that they want

  to do. I, I, it's, they've got so much

  depth though, as you, you mentioned Kenny and I, I put

  together that piece I think last week about projecting a depth
• 25:50
  chart and you've got nine guys, easily a full 3 deep linebacker

  that have played snaps at Iowa State.

  You know, let me correct. His last name is Hawthorne.

  So what about McLaughlin? Yeah, Hawthorne is boy, he's

  such an outstanding athlete. Great speed.

  I think there was a good reason why they only signed 1

  linebacker in that 2025 class. They identified him early, stuck

  with them. He started their recruitment,
• 26:26
  started to blow up a little bit, and Iowa State ended up landing

  him. So they've got great depth

  there, even with Jack Sadowski moving on, still very stacked
• 26:35
  there. But gosh, it wouldn't surprise

  me though, one way or another, if if he finds a way to hit the
• 26:42
  field, special teams, maybe that's the maybe that's the path
• 26:46
  that he kind of starts to prove himself.

  So he's that good? He's yeah, yeah, he's, he's

  really, he's really, really good.

  And you know, we've seen those guys that you never think that

  they're going to hit the field. They're buried in the depth

  chart coming in and and they find a way.

  And I think that Hawthorne is that guy, that maybe he does

  find a way. Let's talk about another local

  product, Zay Robinson and Ken asked kind of what wide receiver

  position do they look at him at six one you guys at Rivals have

  listed at 62? I'm not sure if he's quite that

  tall, but again, we're maybe splitting hairs here.

  Regardless, what do you see, Zay Robinson?

  What kind of role, what wide receiver kind of position are

  they targeting him for? Well, I think maybe in that,

  maybe in that Z receiver right now, not, not like really the X

  but not really the M, which is their slot guy, the M receiver

  at the Z right now. And they want to go with like 3

  wide receiver sets. I had projected Brett Eskelsen,

  by the way, to be the the first team guy there and maybe

  surprise some people. But yeah, coming out of the

  spring, I think he I think he's making a case to be on the wall

  line there alongside probably so well and Townsend, I think that

  highly of him. And I think Zay Robinson may be

  in that you look at him and you look at Eskeldson similar frame

  wise there. So I, I wouldn't be surprised to

  see Zay running with that. I mean, he's a versatile guy.

  He can line up all over the field the line up, probably line

  up at at X, and he could probably line up in the slot as

  It seemed like Moberly set in stone.

  I think Moberly's probably set in stone.

  He's had a full offseason now, whereas with Manski he was just

  cemented that role as as maybe the heir apparent whenever Rocco

  does move on it. He's got even another year

  clear #2 and. Maskey was he was part of one of

  those 11 on Lemon, one of those special camps, All Star camps,

  if you will. So he's obviously got some elite

  Manske and he's back throwing and and getting ramped back up.
