- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? Everybody? Welcome into another edition of
- 0:12Speaker 1: the czech Odaily.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's Andrew check O, Eagles beat reporter for insidethebirds dot
- 0:16Speaker 2: Com and the Eagles, resting several key starters, were unable
- 0:20Speaker 2: to beat the Washington Commanders at home and they fall
- 0:23Speaker 2: to those Commanders by a score of twenty four to seventeen,
- 0:27Speaker 2: and a game in which they would have received help
- 0:30Speaker 2: from the Detroit.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Lions, who did beat the Chicago Bears.
- 0:33Speaker 2: So if the Eagles were to have pulled this off
- 0:35Speaker 2: and won the game, they would have had the number
- 0:37Speaker 2: two seed and had some home games here at Lincoln
- 0:41Speaker 2: Financial Field. But as it were, the Eagles will now
- 0:44Speaker 2: be the three seed and they will face these San
- 0:46Speaker 2: Francisco forty nine ers. We just have to figure out
- 0:49Speaker 2: what day that'll be. That'll be determined later on. But
- 0:51Speaker 2: the Eagles were unable to get it done Sunday afternoon.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And you look at quarterback two McKee. He completed twenty
- 1:01Speaker 2: one to thirty seven passes for two forty one to
- 1:03Speaker 2: touchdown an interception. Running Back Tank Bigsby rushed for seventy
- 1:08Speaker 2: five yards and a touchdown on sixteen carries. Wide receiver
- 1:11Speaker 2: Devonte Smith started the contest, he needed forty four yards
- 1:14Speaker 2: to reach a thousand, and he finished with fifty two.
- 1:17Speaker 2: He said his teammates after that, when he got to
- 1:19Speaker 2: the sideline said get the hell out, like get out
- 1:21Speaker 2: of the game, and he did not go back in
- 1:24Speaker 2: to stay. And defensively, linebackers Joha Campbell and Jeremiah Trotter
- 1:29Speaker 2: Junior racked up double digit tackles in this one. I
- 1:32Speaker 2: told you Trotter Junior was destined for double digit tackles
- 1:35Speaker 2: in this game. And he was somebody who was reading
- 1:38Speaker 2: and diagnosing and tacking.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Downhill and always seemed to find the ball carrier.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Plays with a lot of energy, a lot of jews,
- 1:44Speaker 2: and I thought he did some good things. Inactive for
- 1:48Speaker 2: the Eagles were linebacker Na Kobe Dean, safety Marcus EPs,
- 1:51Speaker 2: outside linebacker Jalen Phillips, right tackle Lane Johnson, left guard
- 1:55Speaker 2: Landon Dickerson, tight end Dallas Goddard, and defensive tackle Jaylen Carr.
- 2:00Speaker 2: There were obviously several starters who did dress but didn't play,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and as I mentioned on Saturday, the Eagles elevating long
- 2:11Speaker 2: snapper Charlie Hewlett, a defensive back Brandon Johnson from the
- 2:14Speaker 2: practice squad. Johnson was needed as an extra safety, especially
- 2:17Speaker 2: once Marcus EPs was ruled out with a concussion.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Let's get to some of my observations here.
- 2:27Speaker 2: The Eagles opted to start Devontae Smith, which I talked about,
- 2:31Speaker 2: and Smith gets fifty two yards on the day. I
- 2:34Speaker 2: think the best throw for Tanner McKee today happened to
- 2:37Speaker 2: be the twenty seven yarder that got Devonte Smith over
- 2:41Speaker 2: the one thousand yard mark. It was between defenders and
- 2:44Speaker 2: Smith had to climb the ladder to get them football.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I thought it was a nice play on his part
- 2:49Speaker 2: to go up there and get it. Probably Tanner McKee's
- 2:52Speaker 2: best throw of the day. I did not think that
- 2:53Speaker 2: Tanner McKee had an overly productive day. A lot of
- 2:57Speaker 2: that has in the context that needs to be attack right.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I mean, he was playing behind an offensive line that
- 3:03Speaker 2: had players like Drew Kendall and Cam Williams who hadn't
- 3:07Speaker 2: played any snaps on the offensive line all season. Cam
- 3:11Speaker 2: Williams was playing this first NFL game, and so when
- 3:15Speaker 2: you're a young quarterback who's inexperience, I should say, and
- 3:19Speaker 2: you're playing behind an offensive line that has some really
- 3:23Speaker 2: green pieces. Yeah, I mean those things are gonna happen.
- 3:26Speaker 2: You're not gonna be able to sit back there, survey,
- 3:29Speaker 2: stand and deliver without being under siege. And there were
- 3:32Speaker 2: a lot of times where Tanner McKee, who is not
- 3:34Speaker 2: fleet footed, had to sort of navigate the pocket and
- 3:37Speaker 2: he just doesn't have that quickness to be able to
- 3:39Speaker 2: do those second reaction throws or even escape pressure. And
- 3:43Speaker 2: there are plays that Jalen Hurst probably gets out of.
- 3:47Speaker 2: But nevertheless, there were some good throws that Tanner McKee had.
- 3:50Speaker 1: He had some misses.
- 3:52Speaker 2: He had the interception, and that was an egregious throw
- 3:55Speaker 2: because Kyln grants and the tight end was open. But
- 3:58Speaker 2: there were a lot of throws that he had, especially
- 4:00Speaker 2: earlier in the game, that I thought.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Were on the money.
- 4:03Speaker 2: They were put in a position where receivers could run
- 4:06Speaker 2: after the catch and he got rid of the football quickly.
- 4:10Speaker 2: First pass of the day went to DeVante Smith, and
- 4:12Speaker 2: then they got DeVante the ball as quickly as they
- 4:15Speaker 2: as many times as they could to get him out
- 4:17Speaker 2: of the game. And then there are other players who
- 4:20Speaker 2: serve prominent role.
- 4:21Speaker 1: On the Eagles and they have to they had to
- 4:23Speaker 1: play in this game.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Now that's not ideal, but that's the nature of it
- 4:26Speaker 2: when you have fifty three man fifty.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Three players on the roster.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So the Eagles started Tyler Steen at right guard in
- 4:34Speaker 2: this game, and he was the other offensive starter whom
- 4:37Speaker 2: the team elected to play. And then the starting offensive
- 4:40Speaker 2: line from left to right left tackle Fred Johnson, left guard,
- 4:43Speaker 2: Bret toat center, Drew Kendall, right guard, Tyler Steen, and
- 4:46Speaker 2: right tackle Matt Pryor. Defensively, the Eagles started outside linebackers.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Nolan Smith and Jay loixs.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Hunt, Campbell, and Trotter were the starters at all bought linebacker.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Their secondary was initially comprised of cornerbacks Jakran Bett a
- 5:00Speaker 2: Keeley Ringo, with Sidney Brown and Brandon Johnson getting the
- 5:03Speaker 2: start at safety. Brandon Johnson got hurt early in that game.
- 5:07Speaker 2: He picked up a tackle on the drive and it
- 5:10Speaker 2: looked like there was a play that was tipped and
- 5:12Speaker 2: he was gonna have the interception, but his ankle got rolled.
- 5:16Speaker 2: He left the game needed assistance getting off, was in
- 5:20Speaker 2: the medical tent and then he was listed as question
- 5:22Speaker 2: more in return.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Did not come back into the game, and I.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Saw him after the game leaving the training room when
- 5:28Speaker 2: we were in the locker room being assisted by Matt
- 5:31Speaker 2: and Leo, and he was struggling to put any weight
- 5:34Speaker 2: on it. I went over to him at his locker
- 5:36Speaker 2: to just to see how he was doing. And he's
- 5:40Speaker 2: gonna be getting an MRI tomorrow, which is Monday, and
- 5:43Speaker 2: so we'll see what the extent of that is.
- 5:46Speaker 1: But not great.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And then that forced the Eagles to put Michael Carter
- 5:51Speaker 2: at safety opposite Sidney Brown because they weren't going to
- 5:55Speaker 2: put re Blankenship in that game. And then it put
- 5:58Speaker 2: Mac McWilliams, the rookie corner of course, who you're all
- 6:00Speaker 2: familiar with if you listen to my podcast. They put
- 6:03Speaker 2: him at the nickel role and he saw his largest
- 6:08Speaker 2: snap share.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Of his young career.
- 6:10Speaker 2: But for Michael Carter, I caught up with him after
- 6:13Speaker 2: the game and he said that that was the most
- 6:15Speaker 2: snaps he's played at safety since he was in college.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So he went to Duke University and I a said,
- 6:20Speaker 2: how do you feeling he goes sore. You know, he's
- 6:25Speaker 2: primarily a nickel defender and that's where his focus usually is.
- 6:29Speaker 2: And so he said that he had to really rely
- 6:33Speaker 2: on Sidney Brown, who he said was especially instrumental in
- 6:38Speaker 2: just helping him out there on the back end and
- 6:42Speaker 2: with the assignments and everything like that. So Michael Carter
- 6:46Speaker 2: played a ton of snaps there at safety, coming on
- 6:48Speaker 2: in relief for ninjur Brandon Johnson. The Eagles also lost
- 6:52Speaker 2: late in the game Brett Toafe due to a concussion.
- 6:56Speaker 2: He was being evaluated for concussion and did not return
- 6:59Speaker 2: to the game. And Grant Calcatara on a reception suffered
- 7:05Speaker 2: a nasty tackle.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It was an awkward.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Tackle and he had a ankle knee injury is what
- 7:11Speaker 2: they were determined determining it to be.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So there were some injuries in this game.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And then when Brent Toath left the game, it forced
- 7:19Speaker 2: Tyler Stein back into the game at right guard. They
- 7:21Speaker 2: moved Matt Prior to left guard, and that's sort of
- 7:25Speaker 2: the way they had to fix that, and Matt Pryor
- 7:28Speaker 2: started the game at right tackle. He went in at
- 7:31Speaker 2: right guard when they took Tyler Stein out and they
- 7:33Speaker 2: brought Cameron Williams on, and then he played left guard
- 7:36Speaker 2: late in the game, so he played.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Three positions in this game.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I thought that was really interesting when I went back
- 7:44Speaker 2: and thought about it. But a lot of moving parts
- 7:46Speaker 2: in this game. I thought the Eagles cornerbacks Jacoryan Bennett,
- 7:50Speaker 2: Keeley Ringo in particular struggled in this one. There was
- 7:54Speaker 2: a play where Josh Johnson ran it in late in
- 7:58Speaker 2: the game and Ringo he looks right at him and
- 8:01Speaker 2: then he continues to turn his back to him and
- 8:04Speaker 2: get back to his receiver and coverage rather than come
- 8:07Speaker 2: up and make the tackle.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Interesting play there.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He got called for a penalty in that one, and
- 8:13Speaker 2: I just thought that he struggled overall, you know, with
- 8:17Speaker 2: the match carry deliver in this game, and he's been
- 8:21Speaker 2: prone to penalties when he's been out there. Jacorey and
- 8:23Speaker 2: Bennett I think had three penalties in this game. Two
- 8:25Speaker 2: in the end zone. Seemed to be a bit grabby.
- 8:29Speaker 2: He was panicking. He was panicking a little bit when
- 8:32Speaker 2: the ball was in the air rather than trusting his technique.
- 8:35Speaker 2: And you saw right there what I've been trying to
- 8:40Speaker 2: get across this season and why a Dori Jackson has
- 8:43Speaker 2: been sort of a revelation, why he shouldn't be taken
- 8:46Speaker 2: for granted, because there's a reason why Ringo and Bennett
- 8:50Speaker 2: haven't been playing or can't even factor in situationally and
- 8:55Speaker 2: why they reverted back to Kiley, reverted back to Adri
- 8:59Speaker 2: Jackson because Vic Fangio saw something and the other two
- 9:02Speaker 2: players in practice that suggested that they couldn't handle a
- 9:06Speaker 2: full time role. And so that's why you shouldn't take
- 9:10Speaker 2: Adri Jackson for granted.
- 9:12Speaker 1: However you may.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Feel about him, I think you have you see why
- 9:16Speaker 2: Vic Fangio has stuck with him. But in this game,
- 9:20Speaker 2: I mean, it was a really really tough go of
- 9:22Speaker 2: it for Keithley Ringo and jacoryan Vennett. I thought for
- 9:28Speaker 2: a while there Tanner McKee was poised and composed under pressure,
- 9:32Speaker 2: and his throws were they had touch and anticipation to them.
- 9:35Speaker 2: But I think his ability to get the ball in
- 9:38Speaker 2: the receiver to his receivers in a position where they
- 9:40Speaker 2: can pick up yards after the catch is what really
- 9:42Speaker 2: stood out. There was that interception that his uh, the
- 9:50Speaker 2: Jylex Hunt picked up an interception in this game, and
- 9:53Speaker 2: it gifted the Eagles favorable field position with under two
- 9:55Speaker 2: minutes until the break, and then mc keith tossed a
- 9:58Speaker 2: bad interception to end the drive. But I thought, by
- 10:03Speaker 2: and large, you know he was he answered the bell
- 10:07Speaker 2: and it's curious that the Eagles would have him drop
- 10:11Speaker 2: back thirty seven or forty times, whatever it was in
- 10:14Speaker 2: a game like this. We were playing with a lot
- 10:16Speaker 2: of reserve offensive lineman and Tank Bigsby was running the
- 10:18Speaker 2: football as well as he was seventy five yards on
- 10:23Speaker 2: sixteen carries. I'm going to get to Tank Bigsby right now, actually,
- 10:26Speaker 2: because he is such a fun player to watch. In
- 10:29Speaker 2: addition to that power and acceleration that he runs with,
- 10:32Speaker 2: he also showcased some nice wiggle on that thirty one
- 10:34Speaker 2: yard catch and run. Whatever reason led to the Jacksonville
- 10:38Speaker 2: Jaguars willingness to part with Bigsby, the bottom.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Line here is that the Eagles got to steal.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I envisioned the third year running back coming out with
- 10:45Speaker 2: the key play in the postseason, and he runs like
- 10:49Speaker 2: his life depends on it, if that makes sense. He
- 10:52Speaker 2: runs with urgency, he doesn't want to take a loss.
- 10:55Speaker 2: He will find and fight for every blade of grass.
- 10:58Speaker 2: And when you have a player like that, it's really
- 11:00Speaker 2: fun to watch. He runs with a desperation to it,
- 11:04Speaker 2: and he kind of creates his own holes. But I
- 11:08Speaker 2: think the Eagles are going to be able to unveil
- 11:10Speaker 2: a potent one two rushing attack with Saint.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Kwon Barkley and Tank Bigsby in the postseason.
- 11:15Speaker 2: But I want to give him a mention there, but
- 11:17Speaker 2: that kind of underscores the I guess, the questionable decisions
- 11:23Speaker 2: in this game to have Tanner McKee drop back as
- 11:26Speaker 2: much as he was when you had a running game
- 11:28Speaker 2: led by Tank Bigsby that was performing well.
- 11:31Speaker 1: And there were a lot of.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Third and shorts or whatever, and the Eagles were electings.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I mean, there was a play late in the game
- 11:40Speaker 2: where Tanner McKee poists a shot down the sideline in
- 11:43Speaker 2: a low percentage thrown to Darius Cooper when you could
- 11:46Speaker 2: just hand it off to Tank Bigsby or Will Shipley
- 11:49Speaker 2: or even aj Diwon, who's pretty good at running between
- 11:51Speaker 2: the tackles at whatever he is two hundred and thirty pounds.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And there were a couple instances in this game where
- 11:59Speaker 2: I just thought that they were.
- 12:02Speaker 1: A little they overthought it a little bit.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Instead of running the football on short distance, they elected
- 12:11Speaker 2: to throw it, and I thought that that kind of
- 12:13Speaker 2: backfired on multiple occasions. So you could certainly look at
- 12:16Speaker 2: that as well as certain points in that game.
- 12:20Speaker 1: But I think the EGO was going to look back
- 12:22Speaker 1: and want those plays back.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I understand the excitement that comes from making a big play,
- 12:27Speaker 2: especially when opportunities are limited. But wide receiver Darius Cooper
- 12:32Speaker 2: picked a really bad spot to pick up a taunting penalty,
- 12:35Speaker 2: which occurred following a seventeen yard catch that would have
- 12:38Speaker 2: set the offense up at the five yard line. The
- 12:40Speaker 2: drive stalled three plays later when McKee tossed an interception
- 12:43Speaker 2: to safety Jeremy Reeves. Let's see, so I talked about
- 12:50Speaker 2: mac McWilliams coming on at Nicol when they had to
- 12:53Speaker 2: move Michael Carter back in safety after Brandon Johnson got hurt.
- 12:56Speaker 2: McWilliams collected a pass breakup on a third quarter third
- 12:59Speaker 2: and set evan On Johnson pass over the middle to
- 13:01Speaker 2: wide receiver Deebo Samuel. But he also picked up a
- 13:04Speaker 2: costly pass interference penalty in the fourth quarter when he
- 13:07Speaker 2: was defending a.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Pass to Samuel in the end zone.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It shortened the field and led to a Johnson touchdown
- 13:13Speaker 2: pass to tight end John Bates to even the score,
- 13:16Speaker 2: and that felt like a tipping point in the game.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Jay loox Hunt single handedly swung momentum for the Eagles
- 13:23Speaker 2: in the third quarter, recovering at Josh Johnson fumble at
- 13:25Speaker 2: the Washington thirty. The Eagles scored on the possession, with
- 13:29Speaker 2: Bigsby surging in from two yards out to retake the lead.
- 13:31Speaker 1: The second year pass rusher.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Believe it or not, leads to the Eagles not only
- 13:35Speaker 2: in sacks, but also in interceptions. He has three interceptions
- 13:38Speaker 2: on the season six and a half sacks. He's just
- 13:41Speaker 2: been playing lights out over the past couple really the
- 13:45Speaker 2: last four weeks, I would say, going back to the
- 13:50Speaker 2: cornerback position, there was a lot of excitement from some
- 13:53Speaker 2: when the Eagles acquired ja Coreyan Bennett via the Trade
- 13:56Speaker 2: dead via trade in early August, but he was charged
- 13:59Speaker 2: with three penalties and he struggled mightily in his first
- 14:02Speaker 2: extended action of the season. And again there's a reason
- 14:07Speaker 2: why Fanjao had reluctance to deploy Bennett on defense, and
- 14:11Speaker 2: I think Sunday offered a little bit of clarity. Egos
- 14:16Speaker 2: don't have a manufactured touch player per se, but Britain
- 14:19Speaker 2: Covey certainly has the traits to become one. The diminutive receiver.
- 14:23Speaker 2: He accumulated twenty yards on two receptions.
- 14:26Speaker 1: He's just excellent in space and.
- 14:28Speaker 2: The change of direction to elude defenders. I'd like to
- 14:31Speaker 2: see what he can do offensively in that capacity. I
- 14:35Speaker 2: don't know that he'll get that opportunity here in Philadelphia,
- 14:37Speaker 2: but he said after the game, I am perfectly fine
- 14:39Speaker 2: being Devonte Smiths backup.
- 14:41Speaker 1: He looks at it. He wears that as a badge
- 14:43Speaker 1: of honor.
- 14:44Speaker 2: He's never been shy about saying, you know, I would
- 14:48Speaker 2: love to play a receiver. That's his position of trade,
- 14:51Speaker 2: and he's a very good punt returner. But he's just
- 14:54Speaker 2: accepted and embraced his role. And you see some of
- 14:57Speaker 2: the ability to make some explosive plays with the ball
- 15:00Speaker 2: in his hand on offense. If the Eagles were able
- 15:03Speaker 2: to open things up a little bit more offensively, I'm
- 15:06Speaker 2: curious to see what Britain could do. And I'm you know,
- 15:08Speaker 2: one or two touches a game, just to get him
- 15:11Speaker 2: in space and pick up a first down, and maybe
- 15:13Speaker 2: when the offense is stuck in neutral, dumping the ball
- 15:16Speaker 2: off to somebody like that might help.
- 15:18Speaker 1: They don't have a manufacturer touch player.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I thought an Ia Smith could be that type of guy,
- 15:22Speaker 2: but it didn't pan out that way. But Nevertheless, it's
- 15:26Speaker 2: hard to assess offensive line play.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I spoke to Drew Kendall after the game.
- 15:29Speaker 2: His father, who of course was a longtime center in
- 15:32Speaker 2: the NFL, Pete Kendall, he was there.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I asked him, I said, you talked to him.
- 15:38Speaker 2: He said, oh, I'm sure he's gonna, you know, criticize me.
- 15:42Speaker 2: He's smiling. He said that he gave him some advice
- 15:45Speaker 2: before the game. But you know, he said, it's really
- 15:48Speaker 2: hard to assess your play right after the game. So
- 15:51Speaker 2: he said he won't really know until he watches the tape,
- 15:53Speaker 2: but was happy to get out there. I asked him
- 15:56Speaker 2: about playing alongside Brett Toath. They played together obviously in
- 15:59Speaker 2: the presets he's in alongside one another, but it probably
- 16:02Speaker 2: and he pretty much said it help with the chemistry.
- 16:06Speaker 2: The communication said, the communication was good with Tanner McKee,
- 16:10Speaker 2: some really good stuff there from him.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Hey, it's that time of the year that everyone's trying

- 19:35Speaker 5: Twenty one and up.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I have to go back and watch
- 19:38Speaker 2: this game because I want to see how Cameron Williams
- 19:40Speaker 2: played in that one, and I think that the offensive
- 19:46Speaker 2: line as a whole probably didn't play to the standard
- 19:48Speaker 2: that they wanted to. It looked like McKee was under
- 19:51Speaker 2: duress for most of the game. But when I do
- 19:53Speaker 2: these post game takeaways, I don't make any definitive statements
- 19:56Speaker 2: unless something's totally obvious, because without rewatching the game or
- 20:02Speaker 2: talking to the player or what have you, it's very
- 20:05Speaker 2: hard to declare to make declarative statements with with you know,
- 20:10Speaker 2: without having more information to go off of. But I
- 20:14Speaker 2: thought there were some young players who took advantage of
- 20:18Speaker 2: their opportunities, and then you know some that that struggled
- 20:22Speaker 2: in this game.
- 20:23Speaker 1: And look, Nick.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Siriati, he's pretty much said that he would do it
- 20:27Speaker 2: all over again if he had to. He doesn't regret
- 20:30Speaker 2: the decision to rest the starters. He said, rest is
- 20:33Speaker 2: something he could control. Whatever else happened was something that
- 20:36Speaker 2: was out of their control. Whatever else happened around the
- 20:39Speaker 2: NFL was seating and all that. I still believe that
- 20:43Speaker 2: Diegos did the right.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Thing in resting their starters.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I know that's probably something that goes against what many
- 20:47Speaker 2: of you believe. But and it's easy to say that
- 20:50Speaker 2: now having watched how that game unfolded. But this is
- 20:53Speaker 2: the team that was really banged up along the offensive line.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Landon Dickerson Cam Jurgens, Jordan Mylotta, and if you can't
- 21:00Speaker 2: block up front, you can't play offense. And the Eagles
- 21:03Speaker 2: really need to take advantage of every opportunity that they
- 21:07Speaker 2: can to rest their offensive line because that is the
- 21:10Speaker 2: key to their success in the postseason, running the football,
- 21:13Speaker 2: protecting Jayleen Hurts, whatever it is. You look at guys
- 21:17Speaker 2: who have been sort of banged up throughout the season.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Jaywhen Phillips hadn't had a bye week off season, he
- 21:23Speaker 2: played seventeen games this year. And in the secondary, just
- 21:29Speaker 2: Cooper Degen pretty much plays every snap. Quenya Mitchell has
- 21:31Speaker 2: played every snap. Zach Bond doesn't come off the field.
- 21:35Speaker 2: These guys need rest. If they're not robots, it's not automatic.
- 21:38Speaker 2: And when you have the opportunity to do it. Nick Sirianni,
- 21:41Speaker 2: who knows this team pretty well, prioritized that to get
- 21:45Speaker 2: them ready. And I think you can also look at
- 21:46Speaker 2: this game and say he had a lot of confidence
- 21:50Speaker 2: wanting his players to go out there, but also in
- 21:52Speaker 2: his team as a whole, because it didn't seem like
- 21:54Speaker 2: they didn't care at all that much who they were playing.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Because that's out of their control. All they can do
- 21:58Speaker 2: is line it up and go play. You can't worry
- 22:01Speaker 2: about what's what's down the road, but you can control
- 22:04Speaker 2: getting your team as healthy as possible going into the postseason.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And I think one.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Thing we can say with definitive certainty is that Nick
- 22:11Speaker 2: Sirianni knows how to press the right buttons.
- 22:14Speaker 1: He knows how to.
- 22:16Speaker 2: He knows as players, he knows how to optimize health
- 22:20Speaker 2: and put them in the best position to be as
- 22:21Speaker 2: fresh as possible. And then it's all going to be
- 22:24Speaker 2: about execution next weekend when the Eagles take on the
- 22:27Speaker 2: San Francisco forty nine ers. Again, we don't have the
- 22:29Speaker 2: date yet, but that's the way it's looking. But that's
- 22:32Speaker 2: that's who the opponent is going to be. And we'll
- 22:34Speaker 2: figure out at the time and day in a number
- 22:38Speaker 2: of hours now, But for now, that's.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Going to do it for this edition of The check
- 22:41Speaker 1: O Daily.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I am Andrew to check oh, and I'll catch you
- 22:44Speaker 2: all on the next one.
