- 0:09SPEAKER_01: What is going on, guys?
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Welcome to this week's edition of The View from the Front.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: Each week, I do my best to cover the news in a sophisticated, balanced, and mature manner.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: And as you guys know, my overarching goal is to unify our country.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: This week, we've got a ton of great stories, as well as some motivation and encouragement at the end.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: And honestly, this week's edition is so packed, and I'm so excited to get into it.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I want to start with a couple of political points,
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: but if you can hang with me for just a moment you're going to see how this ties
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: into a larger overall theme that I'm going to make in just a couple of minutes.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: As I am sure everyone heard,
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Last week, former President Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: 34 felony counts.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: On each of the charges, the jury was unanimous on each of them.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: 34 felony counts.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Now,
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: of course,
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: he derided the decision and called it rigged,
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: said that he couldn't possibly get a fair trial in New York,
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: which is,
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: of course,
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: where he's from.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: He also blamed the Biden administration for using the Department of Justice to come
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: after him,
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: even though it was a local district attorney.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: So these were some of the main points he made.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: This week,
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: in a similar situation,
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: the president's son,
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Hunter Biden,
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: was found guilty of three convictions himself,
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: also in his original home state,
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: by a jury that was unanimous on each of the three charges.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: One interesting part of this conviction is that the Biden Justice Department was
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: actually who was behind the conviction.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: This wasn't a local attorney or district attorney.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: This wasn't a state attorney.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: It was the Biden Justice Department.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years on these charges,
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: which is far more than the four years that the former president is facing in his
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: felony convictions inside New York.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Let me make a couple of other points on this, because it bears noting.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: First,
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Hunter Biden also faces additional charges in California,
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: which are also brought by the Biden Department of Justice.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: These are all by Special Counsel David Weiss.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: This was an individual who was initially appointed by former President Trump.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Now, it gets a little funny here, but even though former President Trump appointed this U.S.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: attorney who became a special counsel, he's also criticized him.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: In fact,
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: in 2023,
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: he criticized him and said that he had failed to bring proper charges after a
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: four-year investigation.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: and that the special counsel was trying to move the case to a more Democrat-friendly venue.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Those were the exact words of former President Trump in 2023.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Now,
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I think it's worth noting that President Biden could have stopped all of this by
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: granting a pardon before even the trial began.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: And this is something that we've seen in the past.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: In fact, we saw it just a few years ago with the predecessor to President Biden.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Back when Trump was president,
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: he granted a pardon way back before all the court dates happened and all the
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: charges were fully vetted.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: He granted a pardon to Biden.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: campaign advisors,
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: and top political staff members,
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: including Paul Manafort,
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Roger Stone,
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Michael Flynn,
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Steve Bannon,
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: and even George Papadopoulos.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: All of these were granted pardons.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: So I think,
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: even without being biased one way or the other,
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: you have to say that President Biden deserves applause for not intervening in this case,
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: and he has now already stated he will not intervene after convictions have been dropped,
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: nor is he going to intervene in the case in California.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: I think you can also, without bias, give him credit and props for not attacking the investigation.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: He has not been talking about it day after day, as Trump did with his trial.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: President Biden has been silent about the entire thing.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: And I think any fair observer would say that was the correct way to handle it.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Let's get to one of the bigger points that I wanted to make.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: After the convictions came down against Hunter,
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: the folks on the right had no idea how to handle it because everyone was so
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: convinced that this was a jury situation or some kind of a fake trial and that he
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: would never be found guilty.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Charlie Kirk, who is clearly a very big voice on the right,
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: even went so far as to call it a fake trial that would try to make the justice
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: system appear,
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: quote,
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: balanced.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And Charlie Kirk said, don't fall for it.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And I was thinking after I saw that comment that I'm pretty sure that if you were
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Hunter Biden,
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: you really would have loved for this to have been a fake trial because there's
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: nothing fake about it at all.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: He is facing up to 25 years.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: He won't get that much.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: He may not get too much at all,
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: but it will complicate the trial in California because he's going to have previous convictions.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: And over there, he's facing years and years of jail time as well.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: So this case is going to impact that case.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: So there's nothing fake about this at all.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: What has happened is that the conviction has helped turn on its head the argument
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: from some on the right that there's some kind of rigged justice system.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: And I say all of this because I think we take for granted the jury system that we have.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: I think we forget how just amazing our justice system is so that you can get a
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: trial in front of a jury of your peers.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: It's not just some judge who's deciding whether you're guilty or not.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: You get a chance to present justice.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: A defense, an evidence, and a chance to even testify should you choose.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: We take that for granted,
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: and it's just frustrating seeing the attacks on our justice system on,
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: honestly,
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: almost a daily basis.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: But back to one of the larger points I was trying to make.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: You would think after seeing this conviction of Hunter Biden,
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: after for more than a year saying it wouldn't happen,
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: obviously I have pointed out former President Trump had criticized the selection of
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: where the trial would take place.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: After all the criticism and after the conviction, instead of saying, wow, we were wrong,
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: many on the far right immediately leaped into an even deeper conspiracy.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: I'm going to share a clip from Congressman Andy Ogles,
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: who's actually from Tennessee,
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: partly why I'm playing it,
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: who was on with Maria Bartiromo,
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: and they were on Fox Business.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: And I want you to just hear this crazy conspiracy that they're sharing,
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: which I've heard others say,
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: but I can't believe they're still saying this all the way into June.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: And that being said,
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: I think it also creates an opening for Democrats to slip someone like Michelle
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Obama in here.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: The Biden family can say,
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: hey,
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: we're going to take care of our house,
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: we're going to take care of our son,
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: and then allow Michelle Obama to come in and run.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Because again,
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Joe Biden can't win this election,
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: and they know that,
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: and they are desperate for another candidate.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: I got to tell you,
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: I am increasingly thinking that Joe Biden withdraws from this race by the time
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: November 5th comes along.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: I am buying into what you're saying there because I agree that the Democrats are desperate right now.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: They are very worried.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: I just have to laugh at that.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: It's insane, honestly.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: First of all, Biden has already run through the primary, received tons of votes, he's been nominated.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: This isn't something he can just suddenly step down easily.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Political parties haven't been nominating people going all the way back to the 70s.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: So Biden will be the choice, Trump will be the choice.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: No one wants to really accept that, but that is the reality.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Furthermore, Michelle Obama hates politics.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: She absolutely hates it.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: If you read her biography,
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: if you read Obama's biography,
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: if you read half of the interviews she's put out there,
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: she didn't even want Obama to run for president either of the terms.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: She hates politics.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: She barely even enjoyed or pulled off the duty of being First Lady.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: It was service to the country.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: She did not enjoy it.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: It's crazy that someone would throw out that she's going to suddenly just jump in,
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: as if all these other Democrats,
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: such as Governor...
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Gavin Newsom or the Vice President herself, Kamala Harris.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: You'd think these people wouldn't absolutely lose it if they just suddenly put Michelle Obama.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: It's just the amount of crazy stuff that's put out there.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: It's just mind-blowing.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: I bring all of this up,
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: and I want to try to,
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: I know I've gone into this a little bit deep,
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: but I had to set it up.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: I bring all of this up because we have to start getting serious as a country,
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: and we have to get serious as informed citizens,
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: as informed voters.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: The reality is, is within the past week, one-fifth of House Republicans voted to defund NATO.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, that is off the charts crazy.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: That is completely loony.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: NATO has been one of the most effective cornerstones of peace and deterrence, bar none.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: NATO helped us in Afghanistan.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: European soldiers deployed to Asia.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Wealth.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: hundreds and thousands of miles from their home to help us in Afghanistan.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: And people are talking about defunding NATO?
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: People are talking about,
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: not just talking about,
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: people are voting to defund NATO when you've got Russia on the march?
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Are we crazy?
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: Why are we allowing this kind of stuff to happen?
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: We have to take this stuff way more serious than we've been taking it.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Almost as crazy as that, Speaker Mike Johnson said,
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: The leader of the House is finally facing some pressure for appointing two people
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: to the House Intelligence Committee who absolutely should not be on that committee.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: They bypass numerous Republicans who have had far more experience and should be on
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: that committee,
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: but all because former President Trump told Mike Johnson to do it.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Mike Johnson appointed two people who...
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: Any reasonable, rational person would look at their backgrounds and say these two people are too much.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: They're too much of firebrands.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: I won't even get into the past and all the reasons they shouldn't.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: But they are just political hotheads who should not be on the House Intelligence
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: Committee seeing the absolute most top secret intelligence that's out there.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: And the worst part is,
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: is Speaker Mike Johnson didn't even tell the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: He was given no advance warning.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Just completely was blindsided because former President Trump wanted his two people there.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Let's not forget that the Democrats did save Speaker Mike Johnson and keep him.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: in the position he's in because once he finally brought a ukraine vote to the floor
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: following a six-month delay of course but they helped save his job but now it
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: appears he's once again kind of going back to acting irresponsible not acting like
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: a leader who does have a lot of power
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: So I think you may see more repercussions because of this irresponsible behavior
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: that Speaker Mike Johnson has taken.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: We'll just have to see on that.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: But I hear you out there.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: You say, why Stan?
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Like, why does it really matter?
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: It's just politics.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: It's just, you know, Trump's the head of his party.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: It's no big deal if you put these two people on.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: They're loyal to him.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: They're pretty well locked inside the GOP.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Like, how big a deal is it if you put a couple of hotheads on there?
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Let's put this in perspective and this is the top point that I've been building up to.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: This is why this matters.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: This is why I have led up to this point because this point I'm about to make right here,
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: this is what it's all about.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: This is how high the stakes are.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: And I'm not going to use my words on this, but I'm about to play a clip for you.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Just imagine if we could have prevented World War II.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: And you might say, well, Stan, how would we have prevented World War II?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I'm going to play a clip that I think is pretty convincing on how we could have prevented World War II.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: All the gas chambers.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: All the hundreds of thousands that have served in the United States and all the other countries.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: The dropping of two atomic weapons.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: Am I suggesting that could have possibly been prevented?
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: And I'm not the only one suggesting it.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: I want you to listen to this clip.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: This is why we have to take this stuff serious.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: And when we don't,
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: You just allow pressure and bad things to build until it's so big you have to
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: completely go all out to try to put out the fire.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Listen to this incredible clip.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: This clip is from Timothy Snyder.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: He's an American historian who specializes in the history of Central and Eastern Europe,
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: also the Soviet Union,
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: and also the Holocaust.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Listen to what this professor at Yale University said just a few weeks ago.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: I don't feel like his words got enough attention, so I'm sharing them now.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: We're about to be in 1939.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: I'm going to agree with you in a certain way.
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: My comparison would be 1938.
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: This is 1938 that Czechoslovakia has chosen to fight.
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: In that world where Czechoslovakia resists, there's no Second World War.
- 15:31SPEAKER_03: The Czechs had a good army.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: They could have held the Germans back.
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: It was largely a bluff on the German side.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: If the Czechs resist, then the French and the British and maybe the Americans eventually start to help.
- 15:42SPEAKER_03: There would have been a conflict, but there wouldn't have been a Second World War.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: When Germany invaded Poland in 1939,
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: it was invading Poland with the Czech armaments industry,
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: which was the best in the world.
- 15:55SPEAKER_03: It was invading with Slovak soldiers.
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: It was invading from a geographical position that it only gained because it had destroyed Czechoslovakia.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: So if the Ukrainians give up,
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: or if we give up Ukraine,
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: then it's a different Russia making war in the future.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: It's a Russia making war with Ukrainian technology,
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: Ukrainian soldiers,
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: from a different geographical position.
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: Then we're in 1939.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: We're in 1938 now.
- 16:21SPEAKER_03: In effect, what the Ukrainians are letting us do is they're letting us extend 1938.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I think that's pretty persuasive.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: That's probably better said than any of the arguments I've heard in the past about
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: how Neville Chamberlain in the United Kingdom kept letting Hitler just take steps,
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: take steps,
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: because by then it was too late.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: This is one of the stronger arguments I've heard, so I wanted to make sure you heard that.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: But I can hear some of you out there.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Some of you still aren't convinced.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Throwing out a World War II analogy is a very big, very wide, massive thing to throw out there.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: I hear you.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: I see what you're putting down.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: I hear what you're saying.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Here's just a smaller thing that I think we all can agree on.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Just in the past few days, eight suspected terrorists
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: with possible ISIS ties, were arrested by the FBI in New York, L.A., and Philadelphia.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: That's like a pretty big deal.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: I think everyone can agree that's a pretty big deal.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: I bring that up because in 2023, a lot of folks on the right were saying we should defund the FBI.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: That's another just completely irresponsible, crazy thing to say.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Just as crazy, though, I will beat up the left for a moment.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: These eight men came across the southern border.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: And the thing that frustrates me is we all get in our echo chambers on the right or
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: on the left,
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: and when one side makes a good point,
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: for instance,
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: the right has been talking about the border for years,
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: but because they haven't been consistent and honest about other subjects,
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: the left and many people in the middle have just said,
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: we're not going to listen to that anymore.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Same thing from the other side.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: The left has tried to make some good points.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: People on the right don't want to hear it.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying from a larger perspective,
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: we've got to start taking this stuff way more serious than we have in the past.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: We've got to quit giving either side, even if it's our own party or your party, quit giving them a pass.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: They are all falling short.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Our debt is horrific.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: We're going to have to start getting serious about that.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: We've got to start getting in alignment on so many topics.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: It's just time we start taking this stuff way more serious than we have.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: There's way too much at stake to not do so.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: We're going to take a short break,
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: but when we come back,
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: we've got lots of news out there that I want to make sure you guys are aware of,
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: most of which you probably haven't heard.
- 19:12Thank you.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, just a quick reminder.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: If you enjoy the show,
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: you've been listening to it for a while,
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: and you'd like to support what I'm doing,
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: there's a few ways you can do so.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: You can sign up on my Substack page, support the show at $5 per month.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: You can also do it through Patreon.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I've got a link to that in the episode notes.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: And then finally, you can even just send a tip through Venmo.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: I've got a link to that as well.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: I really appreciate all of y'all's support.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: The first topic I want to cover is a quick update on a story we've been covering for a few weeks.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: This involves that floating pier that was going to be used to bring in humanitarian aid into Gaza.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: obviously just south of Israel, that has been connected again.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: It has been reopened,
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: and on its first day alone,
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: a total of 492 metric tons,
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: which is more than a million pounds,
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: 1.1 million pounds of humanitarian assistance was delivered through that single
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: floating pier.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: So they've got it put back up, and as...
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: I said a week ago I was a little critical about some of the challenges,
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: including Israeli settlers stopping some of the aid.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: It looks as though that has been handled,
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: so congrats to those in the military,
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: those in the State Department.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: Also, U.S.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: aid is one of the programs being used to help oversee this situation.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: And they're also working alongside with U.S.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: CENTCOM.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of people involved.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Big congrats to them because they are helping people that absolutely need this food.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: And it appears that,
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: at least for the moment,
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: it is back under control and delivering a lot of much-needed supplies.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: Let's move from that topic to some news about Ukraine and Russia.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: First big story out of Ukraine I want to make sure everyone is aware of is Ukraine has said and the U.S.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: intelligence folks have now said that it does appear that the Russian assault on Kharkiv has stalled out.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: As just a refresher, a week ago, the U.S.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: said that Ukraine could start using American weapons to strike targets inside Russia,
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: and that appears to have had a devastating effect and completely taken the air out
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: of the Russian assault.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: In fact,
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: if you look on social media,
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: you can now see videos of Ukrainian units,
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: including police units,
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: that are retaking ground that the Russians had seized.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: So that is certainly great news for our friends in Ukraine and for the West that
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: was wanting to stall and stop that advance from Russia.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: On that new front,
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: reminder Kharkiv is in the northern east part of Ukraine,
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: and Russia had advanced from Russian territory where there had not been fighting on
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: the ground in the past.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: It was kind of a surprise attack, if you will.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: In other Ukraine news,
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: Ukraine was very successful the past week and has managed to destroy two very
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: expensive radar systems that Russia has inside occupied Crimea.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: Of course, that's the Crimean Peninsula that Russia is very keen to hold on to.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Ukraine destroyed a Russian S-300 and a Russian S-400 radar.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Those are two of the most advanced anti-air systems that the Ukrainians have.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: These were big,
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: successful attacks for Ukraine,
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: and it's going to help open up the airspace so that when F-16s arrive,
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: they're going to have more room to operate.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: These S-300 and S-400 radar systems have incredible range.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: In fact, the S-300...
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: Has a range of 93 miles.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: 93 miles.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: That really dominates the space or the airspace around one of those defensive launchers.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: The missiles on them are huge.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: They fly at Mach 6.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: They're very long.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: The warhead is 150 kilograms, which is more than 300 pounds.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: These are very serious weapon systems.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: The S-400 is even more advanced than the S-300.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: It is listed as a range...
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: Of course,
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: it's the Russians saying this,
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: so no one really knows the exact range.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: But they list the range as up to 250 miles.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: 250 miles.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Again, very large weapon system worth at least $500 million.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: They sell them or export them to other countries...
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: at $1 billion.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: That's how valuable these weapon systems are, or at least the S-400 is.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: The S-300 is a little bit less expensive,
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: but they're very effective weapon systems,
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: and Russia just lost two of them.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: While we are on the topic of air defense,
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: it has been announced in several media outlets,
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: including the New York Times and
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: the Associated Press,
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Bloomberg,
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: that the United States is going to send another complete Patriot system to Ukraine.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: These are the very capable and successful air defense systems, some of the best that the U.S.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: has.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: It's believed, okay, so we're going to get into some gray area here because the U.S.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: doesn't like to talk about what it has transferred.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: So I'm just going to share what I've seen and heard on social media and in the
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: media because some of these numbers are pretty well protected by the Pentagon.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: But it's now believed that two,
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: once this one gets there in a couple of days,
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: that Ukraine will have two Patriot systems that the U.S.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: has sent.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: That's a pretty big deal because it's believed that the U.S.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: has about 14 Patriot systems deployed around the world.
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: The U.S.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: will not say how many they have yet.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: In total,
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: which are obviously based in the U.S.,
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: but it's believed 14,
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: according to the Telegraph,
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: British newspaper,
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: on a recent podcast,
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: one of their reporters said,
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: it's believed 14 of them are deployed around the world,
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: so we will now have two of the 14,
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: or 14 plus 2,
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: or 16 deployed around the world,
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: Those will go into Ukraine.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: They will obviously be manned by Ukrainian troops, but that should help Ukraine a lot.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: It was also announced within the past week,
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: while we're talking about Patriot air defense systems,
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: that Germany is going to send a third one.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: So Germany will send a third one to Ukraine.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: As well as Germany is also going to be sending some of their mobile, what they call the Gepard.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: These are really good at shooting down some of the drones.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: But they basically have twin autocannons on them.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: Very effective.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: They're going to send some of those as well.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: So this is great news for Ukraine as they continue to strengthen their air defense.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Which they absolutely have to do because as...
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: We have been saying the past few weeks,
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: really the past couple of months,
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Russia has been successful in destroying a lot of Ukraine's thermal power stations.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: And as I said a couple of weeks ago,
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Ukraine is even having to deal with some blackouts as they try to repair some of this.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: So the West is trying its best to keep Ukraine from being in a very precarious
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: situation when winter comes this year.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: One final thing about air defense.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: The country of Norway announced this past week that they're going to spend $257
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: million to help bolster Ukraine's air defense.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: And they're going to partly use that to help buy more Patriot missiles, which are limited quantity.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: So Norway is going to be purchasing more of those to help make Ukraine's air defense even stronger.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Before we leave the topic of air defense,
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Raytheon,
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: the company that makes the Patriot air defense system,
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: as the West has seen this threat from Russia,
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: and as Russia has increasingly continued to threaten Poland and other countries...
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: Raytheon,
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: the company that makes Patriot air defense systems,
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: this week gave the green light to speed up production in European countries of the
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: American Patriot weapons system.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: So this is a first.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: They will support a European assembly line.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: It will be inside the Netherlands,
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: but this is a first,
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: and the company is saying that that will help speed up production because there is
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: such a high demand on it of the weapon system.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: And of course,
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: that doesn't even bring into account the potential threat from China,
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: but it's a great sign that...
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: We're now going to allow one of our NATO countries that we're allied with to help
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: produce this,
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: because even though we are ramping up our defense base in the United States,
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: there's just such a high demand for some of these weapons systems that it's a good
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: thing that the West kind of got this wake-up call by Russia before it was too late,
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: before we saw how weak our industrial base was.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: We've ignored those warning signs for years and years,
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: but partly because we were so successful during Desert Storm in the early 90s,
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: everyone just thought that our military was so strong that we didn't need to have
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: such a large size.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: We could reduce the size,
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: reduce the amount of ammunition we had stored,
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: reduce the amount of missiles stored.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Reduce the number of ships and so we really started cutting everything back,
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: but we're now seeing that the reality is is Deterrence is a necessary thing as I
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: said last week if you want peace prepare for war it Seems to be about the only way
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: to maintain peace is to have a military that prevents countries that are aggressive
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: in nature if You have a strong enough military to keep them in check.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: It's about the only way to keep them in
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: for making really rash and foolish decisions.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: Okay,
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: we're going to wrap the news up there and get to the best part of the show,
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: the motivation and encouragement section,
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: and this week we've got a few good ones.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: Here is the first one, and it's a great one.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: It's a simple quote.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: One day or day one, you decide.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: That is so good, isn't it?
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: You can either in your mind say, one day I'll do this,
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: Or you can say, day one.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: Today is day one.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: I think we all want to be people who say, today is day one.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Alright, so the next one.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: When you think of giving up, remember why you started.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Such a good one.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: When you think of giving up, remember why you started.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: When I used to own my small business for nine years,
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: I used to always tell people as they saw me struggle.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: There were some really rough years to say the least.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: And I would always say, the riches of a journey are at its end.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: They are not at the beginning.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: They are usually not at the middle.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: The riches are at the end.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: And that helped keep me going.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: But again, the quote was, when you think of giving up, remember why you started.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: Here's the next one.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: It's just kind of a motivational quote.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: Top quote that I saw someone had put on thread, so I thought I'd share.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: So this is just kind of a mindset to have.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Things will improve.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: You will discover something better.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: You will have better experiences.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: You will grow and improve.
- 31:50SPEAKER_01: Just a simple thing.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Things will improve.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: You will discover something better.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: You will have better experiences.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: You will grow and improve things.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: So often,
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: though,
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: when you're in the trenches or when you're fighting or when you're beat down or tired,
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: you can't seem to get any victory.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: It's just easy to want to give up.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: But have that mindset that things will improve.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: You will discover something better.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: You will have better experiences.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: You will grow and improve.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: Final one I wanted to share as far as motivation goes.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: I wanted to share a story I saw as just something as a challenge to you guys if you see this opportunity.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: A lady who I would guess is probably in her 40s or 50s shared this.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: My neighbor, who is a mid-80s widower, dropped by this morning.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: He handed me a bag of tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers from his garden.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: I invited him in for some coffee,
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: as I always do,
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: and he started to say no as he always does,
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: but then said,
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: okay,
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: okay,
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: I think that'd be nice.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: We sat at the table, sipped coffee, and talked about gardens, the heat, our trumpet-playing neighbor,
- 33:04SPEAKER_01: and other southern niceties for about 20 minutes before he stood to go.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: I thanked him for the vegetables again.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: He thanked me for the coffee, and I walked him to the door.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: He said, I realized I hadn't talked to anybody at all in about three days, and that's not good for me.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Thank you for making me open my mouth.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: And then she finished by saying, we're having dinner on Wednesday.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: And that was such a touching story to me.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: And I saw it starting to go viral.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: And so I wanted to share it because,
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: I often think of my dad and I go see him as often as I can.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: But after we lost my mom, he's there in the house alone.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: He often says that the house is growing on him and the walls start to close in.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: So he'll just go out for drives.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: But we all have
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: That neighbor that's alone that we probably should take an extra few minutes to
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: check in on,
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: to speak to,
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: to share a story.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Many of them are sitting in that house all day.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: And I know we're all busy.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: You work the day job.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: You come home.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: You got kids and food you got to deal with.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: You got everything.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: But man, just that little bit of conversation in someone's life can do so much for them.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm challenging you this week.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: In the coming days and week,
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: if you get an opportunity to do that,
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: something small or nice that you can do to someone in your neighborhood,
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: that would be amazing.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: Alright,
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: let's share a few from the Bible,
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: because as I always say,
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: this book has become such a source of strength and wisdom and calm for me during
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: the past year.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: This first one is just a verse I saw I wanted to share.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: Think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right path.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: Thought that was a good one.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: Next one is just a little quote I saw someone had shared.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: The quote is, Again, God has already prepared the way.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: Now he's just preparing you.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: This next one's from Proverbs, chapter 16, verse 9.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: Again, we can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: And this next one is kind of a similar one, but I think we all fall short on this one.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: If it's not God's will, then God has a better plan.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: And I can say with a thousand percent conviction that in my life,
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: there have been so many times where things did not go the way I wanted them to and
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: God had a better plan.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: And this happened so many times that I could spend 20 minutes talking about it.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: But again, stop overthinking.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: If it is God's will, it will happen.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: And nothing will stop it.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: If it's not, then God has a better plan.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: I think that is a pretty good one to end on right there.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: Thanks so much for joining us this week.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: I hope as you go through this week that you act a little nicer on social media and in the world as well.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: Smile at folks in the grocery store.
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: Do small acts of kindness.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: And remember that most Americans are good.
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: and they will help you in an emergency, even if you don't agree politically.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: As you go through this week, I want you to aim to be more motivated and more disciplined.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: Try to improve yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: You don't have to set impossible goals on these matters.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: Just be a little more motivated and disciplined than you were the week prior.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: As I said earlier, I really hope that you spend some time in your Bible this week.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: If you have no idea where to read on your own, just start with Psalms or Proverbs.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: Read some of those and then start with the New Testament by reading the book of John.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Moving to a final note on the political front,
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: I'm confident after this episode you're going to hear some bad news this week.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: Where you're going to hear something ugly and it's going to remind you of how divided we are.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: This is as certain as the law of gravity.
- 37:50SPEAKER_01: But I'm begging you, please do not give up on this country.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: I know it's pretty ugly right now,
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: and I know we're living in dark times,
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: but we've made it through nearly 250 years together,
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: and we're far stronger together than we'll ever be apart.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: Don't ever believe anyone who tells you differently about that.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Let me wrap up the show by talking about my books and a couple of other newsletters that I do.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: First, a bit about myself and my books.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: I am a military vet.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: I spent four years in the Marine Corps, all of that time in the infantry.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: And yes, that does matter.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: After my enlistment, I went to college at the University of Tennessee.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: I became a journalist.
- 38:28SPEAKER_01: I spent more than 10 years in the news business.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: Besides all of that, I've also written 12 books.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: Those books include a series about a Marine Corps sniper,
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: several novels about a police detective and a private investigator,
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: and a few books about war,
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: such as World War II and Afghanistan.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: Basically,
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: these are all fast-moving books with lots of action and plot twists,
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: because those are the kind of books I've always enjoyed reading.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: You can find all of those books in the link in the episode notes,
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: or you can look on Amazon by just searching my name,
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Stan R.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Mitchell.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: Buying a book,
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: telling a friend about a book,
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: or buying one as a gift for someone,
- 39:05SPEAKER_01: friend or loved one,
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: is a great way to help support the show.
- 39:09SPEAKER_01: Now, I always like to end each show by reminding people that you can comment anytime.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: I try to monitor those.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: You can also reach out privately by email to me at AuthorStanRMitchell at Yahoo.com.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: And that's in the episode notes, by the way.
- 39:23SPEAKER_01: But again, it's AuthorStanRMitchell at Yahoo.com.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: Hey, here's one other thing.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: This podcast is about defense news, but I also do a political blog.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: So if you love my moderate, optimistic views, you might enjoy that.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: It's called Thoughts from a Southern Gentleman.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: You can find a link to the episode notes to that, or you can just search that on Google.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: I also put out a faith-based newsletter.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: You can find the link to that in the episode notes as well.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: Hey, thanks for hanging with me this week.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: It's truly an honor to talk with each of you and to know that there's a few of you
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: out there who are listening and who care about our country and our military and all
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: the issues that we face.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: I know there are a lot of scary issues out there,
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: but we're going to get through them together,
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: the same way America's gotten through everything before this.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: If you can at all this week,
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: reach out to a friend or anyone who you know is struggling,
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: whether they are young or old.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Life is truly hard.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: We know this.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: But the true strength of this country is its people,
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: and that includes you folks listening to me right now.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: So be a leader, be a doer, be a servant to someone.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: With all of that being said, I'll catch you all next week.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: You have been listening to The View from the Front.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: I hope you enjoyed the show.
