- 0:28SPEAKER_00: To aggravate the problem, European nations have expanded their respective Muslim populations from 0% to 4% in Germany, from 0 to 7% in England, and from 0 to 10% in France.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Every week, from university, audiobooks.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: This week's episode is a chapter from our audiobook, Under God, entitled The Nations Under God's Judgment.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Written by Kevin Swanson.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Chapter 10.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: For the kingdom is the Lord's, and he rules over the nations.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Psalm chapter 22, verse 28.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: All nations remain under God's authoritative rule, always under his all-seeing eye, and ever accountable to his judicial purview.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: The scriptures tell us that all his ways are judgment.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy chapter 32, verse 4, King James Version.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: God is always just in his dealings with men, though he does sometimes delay his judgments.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: He is patient, providing ample time for repentance.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: His justice is always perfect.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: As the poet said, the mills of God grind slowly, but very fine.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: There are times in human history when nations are visited by a special dispensation of God's judgment.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Biblical revelation provides insight into the divine disposition exhibited toward Sodom and Gomorrah, that thoroughly righteous, personal, intentional, and quite severe outpouring of wrath visited upon those wicked city-states.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: If destruction comes quickly, violently, and extensively, we may properly refer to this as a special dispensation of God's righteous judgment.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: This is especially seen with nations facing the ravages of war, whether that be the U.S.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Civil War of the 1860s or the devastation brought about by World War II in the 20th century, risking a special dispensation.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: He rules by his power forever.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: His eyes observe the nations.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: At present, two sorts of nations stand at imminent risk of the visitation of God's judgment.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: These are nations in Christian apostasy, and all nations resistant to the Christian gospel.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: North America, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and parts of South America are mired in Christian apostasy, whether of Catholic or liberal Protestant form.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Nation states registering dug-in resistance to the Christian gospel at the present include Islamic countries, India, China, and Japan.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: The current situation in the world presents a unique and interesting set of problems.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: There is a rising antagonism between post-Christian nations and nations resistant to the Christian gospel.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Persecution of Christians among pagan nations like China and India is on the rise.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Animus against the Christian faith in Europe is more intense than ever.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: By the mid-2020s, 55 countries had countenanced high degrees of Christian persecution, an increase from 23 nations just 10 years earlier, and only two or three countries at the turn of the 20th century.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: These are highly uncommon times in the history of the world, especially in relation to the nation's view of Christ and his people.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: If the current geopolitical tensions explode into world war, we may safely conclude that this too represents God's judgment upon the nations.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Whatever happens, let us be assured that God's judgments always work out according to his all wise, all good, and all righteous purposes.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Ephesians chapter 1, verse 11, and that Jesus is above all things to the ultimate benefit of his church.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Ephesians chapter 1, verse 22.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: The scriptures provide ample data concerning the national sins and bad governments that preempted God's judgments on nations, whether that be the nation of Israel in covenant with God or the surrounding pagan states and assorted empires.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Many of the Old Testament prophetic writings are dedicated to this subject.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: One thing is clear: God is very much concerned for the moral condition of all the nations of the earth.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: He will call all to account.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: What brings about divine judgment upon nations?
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Briefly summarize, the Old Testament prophets make it clear that God will bring judgment down upon nations consumed with rampant sexual perversion, the shedding of innocent blood, apostasy, pride, and idolatry.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Leviticus chapter 18, for example, explains why God wiped out the Canaanites and other ancient peoples.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: The context is sexual perversion.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Do not defile yourselves with any of these things, for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: For the land is defiled, therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Leviticus chapter 18, verses 24 through 25.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Amos chapter 2 verses 6 through 8 list four reasons for God's final retribution upon the northern tribes of Israel.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Number one, oppressing and enslaving the poor.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Number two, bribery and corruption in government.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Number three, sexual perversion, and finally, number four, idolatry.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Edom was destroyed for its pride and murderous violence.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Obadiah chapter 1, verses 1 through 10.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: The thousand-year Mediterranean powerhouses of Tyre and Sidon eventually collapsed for their pride and violent oppression.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Ezekiel 28, verse 6 and 16.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Luke chapter 10, verse 14.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: The world was also destroyed by the flood for this same problem of violence.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Genesis chapter 6, verses 11 and 13.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Babylon was destroyed for its sorceries, Isaiah chapter 47, and the shedding of innocent blood.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 17.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Later in Scripture we find the Babylon of Rome, or any other proud city of man, destroyed for sexual sin and wanton self-indulgence.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Revelation chapter 18, verse 9.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: History adds more data.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: The Chinese Han Dynasty, 206 BC to AD 220, softened on homosexuality, and court records indicate the behavior was common enough among the elites to be mentioned.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: This was the era in which the hardcore legalism had transferred into a soft core Confucianism or socialism.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: The subsequent Three Kingdoms War was the worst in Chinese history, reducing the population by anywhere from 30 to 50 percent, a demographic collapse for the nation.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: The end of the Persian Empire under Darius III, wrought by the hand of Alexander the Great, followed a period of sexual dissipation, voluptuousness, and homosexual intrigue and treachery.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: The Napoleonic Wars came roughly 15 years after the French Revolution, 1789 to 1799, the first legalization of homosexuality, 1791, and the attendant horrors arising out of the humanist philosophies of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Voltaire.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: These French initiated wars register as the most demographically devastating events between 1618 and 1914, World War I, all stemming from the inequitous conditions attending the French Revolution.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: The American Civil War followed a national apostasy.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: Historians will point out economic catalysts for that war, differing economic models, states' rights, and rising tariffs on southern imports.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: But more importantly, to the God-fearing student of history, the nation was an extreme moral and religious retrograde, marked by a disturbing rise of interest in witchcraft, seances, Unitarianism, skepticism, and transcendentalism at the highest levels of society, not to mention the unrighteous slave trade with roots extending as far back as the 1670s and 1680s under the governance of the Catholic Stuarts.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Germany was ripe for judgment by the 1920s because of rampant sexual perversion among the highest echelons of the Kaiser's government, as well as the homosexuality that dominated within the Nazi Party in the early years.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Germany was also at the forefront of Christian apostasy in the West by the influential philosophies of Christian Wolff and Immanuel Kant, and of course the higher criticism movement of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: The high-handed rebellion against God, as expressed in the writings of 19th century German thinkers Friedrich Nietzsche and Karl Marx had already brought a curse upon the whole world before the outset of World War II.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: Hitler liked Nietzsche and Stalin liked Marx.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: World War II brought terrible destruction upon these two nations, Germany and the Soviet Union, more than others.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: The receding remnant.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: If divine judgment may be suspended above all, the salt matters.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: The diminution of a righteous remnant has removed the final checks to divine judgment in some parts of the world at the present.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: God would not have destroyed Sodom if there had been just ten righteous persons dwelling there.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Genesis chapter 18, verse 32.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: That would have been an estimated 1% of the population, given the average size of these ancient city-states, as estimated by archaeologists.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: The German apostasy was almost total at the eve of World War II.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Germany's confessing church claimed only 3,000 pastors and 300,000 church members or so out of a population of 70 million, only 0.4%.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Adding another 0.1% for Baptists and a few others into the total hardly moved the needle, not much salt to go around.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: These numbers were not strong enough to stave off the Nazi nightmare and the war that followed.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Today, only 0.4% of Germans attend any Protestant church, liberal or conservative, on any given Sunday.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Christian church membership in England hovered around 30% in the 1930s, with church attendance averaging 10%.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Some small yet substantial remnant remained, and God showed mercy upon the island nation in World War II.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: A century later, Anglican church attendance in the U.K.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: had dropped off to 0.9%.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Not much to speak of for a denomination led by a female archbishop and an apostate king.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Another 0.9% of Englanders were attending evangelical churches on a weekly basis.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: English church membership was now a third of what it was in 1930.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Protestant church attendance in the Netherlands also dropped off from 50% to 4% of the population between the 1930s and the 2020s.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Granted, church attendance is only one metric, and some percentage of church attendees are only nominal Christians.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Most of the historically Protestant nations in Europe were on the verge of falling under the 1% threshold during the first few decades of the third millennium.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: What happens when the salt is all but gone?
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: And whatever is left has lost its saltiness.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: One thing is for certain fighting for a minority of faithful Christians in these countries to supplement the salt ratio could mean the bare survival of Europe.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Nations registering the highest popular support for sexual perversion at present are Sweden, 92%, the Netherlands, 89%, Spain, 87%, France, 82%, and Germany 80%.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: These countries are risking divine retribution and the historic pattern of Sodom and Gomorrah, or Pompeii.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Also, U.S.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: cities touting the lowest birth rate, highest rate of sexual perversion, and lowest church attendance include Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Austin, Seattle, Boston, Denver, New Orleans, and Minneapolis.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: To aggravate the problem, European nations have expanded their respective Muslim populations from 0% to 4% in Germany, from 0% to 7% in England, and from 0 to 10% in France.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: This means that the Muslim population has far exceeded evangelical church attendance across Europe.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: And in fact, these Western nations replaced the Christian worldview with two things.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: A post-Christian, morally nihilistic civilization destroying value system while at the same time opening up their borders for the Islamic worldview to fill the void.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Either worldview was hardly worth defending from the eastern hordes.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Then Jesus also said to the multitudes, whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, a shower is coming, and so it is.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And when you see the south wind blow, you say, There will be hot weather, and there is.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Luke 12, verses 54 through 56.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: This unusual chastisement issued by the Lord Christ Himself accuses the people of hypocrisy for their failure to discern the times.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: Much like the Christian population in Europe and America today, they could fairly accurately forecast the weather.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: But for the life of them, they could not tell the harbingers of the judgment of God soon to come.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Judgment was only forty years off for the wayward people of first century Israel.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: He is the rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are judgment, a God of truth and without iniquity.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Just and right is he.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy 32, verse 4, King James Version.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: All the world events that play out upon the nations may be attributed to God's fair dealings and just judgments.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: He shakes the world.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: He brings desolations on the earth.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Psalm 46, verse 8.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Destabilizations, revolutions, wars, economic debacles, and pandemics occur under His providential and sovereign governance.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: While modern nations may not have yet experienced the devastations of famine, war, and exile, scripture records certain harbingers of God's judgment of which we all should be aware.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: For example, many more states have elected female presidents and prime ministers since the 1970s.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Mexicans elected their first female president in 2024, and Japan had its first female prime minister in 2025.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: The trend towards female leadership in the highest seats of world governments accelerated sharply around the turn of the third millennium.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: If abdication of male leadership signals a weakening of national governments, and if Isaiah 3, verse 12 contains any divine wisdom or truth, this must signal a harbinger of judgment.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Worldly people, however, are thrilled when women lead.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: The worldwide global debt rises from 100% to 250% of the GWP.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: The international birth rate drops from 3.7 to 2.2, and homosexuality takes over the world, at least when the number of nations endorsing the lifestyle increases by 50 fold over 50 years.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: The scriptures treat these as harbinger of judgment, as indicated by Deuteronomy chapter 28, Isaiah chapter 3, and Romans chapter 1.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Cursed shall be the fruit of your body.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Woe to the wicked, it shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hand shall be given him.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: O my people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: Isaiah three verses eleven through twelve.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: For this reason God gave them up to vile passions, for even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: Romans chapter 1, verses 26 through 27.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: Political instability is one of the first indications of hard times ahead.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: World War II formed out of the seedbed of unprecedented discontent and disunity in Germany.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: The Bimar Republic fractured badly, with 14 different chancellors taking the job between 1921 and 1933.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: President Hindenburg, 1925 through 1934, issued emergency decrees to bypass the nation's parliament, at which time the presidential decrees would outnumber laws passed by the legislature.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: The Reichstag was blown apart in fights between the Communists and the National Socialists, both of which were equally antagonistic to a biblical world and life view.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Extremism was the order of the day, but both of them.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Both sides were extremely evil and enthusiastically committed to their agendas.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Well-timed assassinations incited further division and violence.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Armed paramilitary groups like the SA had identified the enemy as Jews and communists while themselves being committed to a godless worldview and sexual perversions.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: The hyperinflation crisis of 1922 and the Great Depression of 1929 added fuel to the discontent and instability of the nation, paving the way for Adolf Hitler, the purges, and the devastation of World War II.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: Political instability was on the rise the world over in the early 21st century.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: National governments turned over power 30 40 times between 2010 and 2025.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: That is about twice the frequency of power turnovers seen between 1950 and 2010.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Support for the nationalist parties or the populist parties increased substantially in Italy, Germany, the UK, and France during the first two decades of the 21st century, while the leftist parties maintained relatively steady numbers.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: The populist parties grew at the expense of the center.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: The U.S.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: also witnessed a slow but steady move toward internal disunity and political instability over a period of 70 years.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: The gap in partisan approval for the sitting president widened over time.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: The Democrats increasingly hated the Republican president, and vice versa.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: Each election produced more radical political swings to the left and then to the right, however that was defined.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: These social conditions evolve over time, trajectories toward more instability and a breakdown of the U.S.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: system of governance.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: This internal disunity will eventually weaken national defenses and create a power vacuum that invites revolution and foreign intervention.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: When nations lose the common denominator of basic values around which we all can unite, they fragment and weaken.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Western Europe's Christian apostasy and descent into a rotted out materialistic atheism, existentialism, sexual anarchy, and philosophical nihilism proved an insufficient base upon which to build or even sustain a civilization.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Europe lost its will to carry on.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Though it might have been only a symbolic metric, it was interesting to note that none of the heads of governments in France, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Scotland, Lithuania, Romania, or the United Kingdom had sired natural born children in the year 2020.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Whether consciously realizing it or not, these leaders were admitting the obvious.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: There was no future for the West, only a legacy of unprecedented debt, birth implosions, sexual perversion, sterility, and abortion.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: About this time, these nations lacked a solid enough set of principles or virtues around which to rally or to defend.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: The UK, Germany, and France were made up of a 30 to 40% immigrant population in 2025.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: Only 60% of children in the UK were born to local born parents.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: At this rate, only a minority of the UK's population will still be of European origin by the mid-21st century.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: Germany and France followed closely behind.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: Eastern states maintained a more cohesive cultural unity.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Russia, for example, counted only 8% recent immigrants, and farther east, far less.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: Yet ethnic origin is not the core issue when it comes to holding on to national unity and political stability.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Occasionally, immigrants will take up a set of values belonging to their host nation.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: What matters most is ideological unity forming around the right principles.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Europeans lost the will to carry on their civilization by birth and hope to compensate for it by immigration.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: Between the year 2000 and 2024, Western Europe lost 5 million people due to deaths outnumbering births, while at the same time adding 25 million by immigration.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: With East-West geopolitical tensions on the rise, questions regarding patriotism and national allegiance are more relevant than ever.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Do Europeans have the will to defend their homeland from foreign invasion?
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: For what particular set of values would they give their lives on the battlefield?
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Would they risk their lives for the values of woke ideology, multiculturalism, sexual perversion, abortion and population control, feminism, anti-Christian principles, and ethnic diversity without Jesus?
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: These are hardly substantial enough values upon which a civilization might survive and thrive.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: They are toxic ideas that contribute to the social rot for any nation in the long run.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: If the chief values around which a nation is supposed to unite are these individual rights to kill babies, to act out sexual perversions, to cast the next four generations into debt, and to implode the birth rate, that is hardly enough of an ideology for which a young man would give his life in a military conflict.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Inviting immigrants into a nation in order to share more of the welfare, to use up what remains of the capital of the nation, and to take up these destructive values is hardly a vision that can sustain a civilization.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Now, the root problem is that Europe and the US have turned away from God.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: The universities, the mainstream media, the political states, and the mass culture have turned anti-God, anti-Christ, and anti-Christian.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: They have set themselves against the Christian heritage of the West.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: The problem is not ethnic diversity.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: The problem is a rejection of the Christian foundation upon which these nations were formed over a span of one thousand years.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: The destabilization of the mind.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind to do those things which are not fitting.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: Romans chapter 1, verse 28.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: Exceedingly bad ideas, particularly those that actively suppress truth and self-consciously oppose God, can destabilize individuals and entire societies.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: Bad thinking has already produced softened skulls, rotted out minds, and widespread insanity in the West.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Inevitably, the optimism of humanism gives way to the pessimism of materialism, naturalism, and even nihilism.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Each successive generation is more convinced than ever that any and all true knowledge or absolute truth is unobtainable.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: The post-Christian world of modern academia has given up on all moral absolutes, any and all certainty concerning objective reality and the possibility of retaining any transcendent purpose for human existence.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: This dominant worldview of relativism tips the world into irrationalism and insanity.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: Academic, political, and cultural leaders turn chronically unstable, constantly shifting opinions from this to that.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: Nobody can agree on the good ends or goals to which society ought to aspire, all proving to be an unstable base upon which to build a country.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: The liberal arts colleges and universities have generated an unending stream of revolutionary ideas geared to tear up human society.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: These ideas have fomented sexual anarchy, the unraveling of the nuclear family, dangerous political policies, cultural deconstruction, and blood in the streets revolution.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: The colleges have turned out to be the main ideological instruments for the destruction of human society in the modern world.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: Sometimes nations divide into warring political parties, neither side of which contributes any good.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: This occurred in 1930's Wermer Germany, when the people elected the Nazi tyrants as preferable to communist tyranny.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: Both philosophies opposed Christian values and radically disturbed the social order.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: Economic destabilization.
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: The previous chapter described in detail the problem with government interference with the economy.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: Government messiah wannabes surely bear good intentions.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: But while the stated purpose of central banks and centralized control of economies is to retain stability, these attempts to smooth out temporary economic glitches by government interference sets countries up for a mega economic earthquake.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: Safety nets provided by powerful banks and governments result in irresponsible leveraging and risk taking.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: Recent years have proved this point well beyond any other period of time in human history.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: The total worldwide derivative, betting and hedging market of futures, forwards options, energy derivatives, foreign exchange derivatives, et cetera, increased from one trillion dollars in 1990 to 700 trillion in 2025, a 700 fold increase.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: This amounted to unrestrained, unhinged, and irresponsible betting on stocks and real estate values.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: To make matters worse, advanced economies like the U.S., Japan, Switzerland, and other nations courted extended periods of low interest loan rates coupled with high asset valuations, for example, real estate stocks, which encouraged more debt and more wild speculative gambles in the stock market casinos.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: As already mentioned, the world debt to GDP ratio increased from 100% to nearly 300% over a brief 40 years, further increasing the fragility of the entire world economy.
- 37:11SPEAKER_00: Public trust in the world's manipulated monetary system, unattached to the gold standard, deteriorated quickly after the 2007-2009 recession.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: Within a brief 15 years, world investors moved their money into gold, silver, and cryptocurrency.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: $36 trillion, 31% of the gross world product in 2025, up from 3.5 trillion, 6% of the gross world product in 2007.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: The fear was palpable.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: The canary and the gold mine had flopped over.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: These economic harbingers revealed deep vulnerabilities and irreconcilable instabilities in worldwide socioeconomics.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: The world economy was set up for a major seismic event during the first decades of the 21st century.
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: Economic crises always serve as the catalyst for more harmful revolutions and wars all over the earth.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: The two most basic contributors to social stability.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God he made man.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: And as for you, be fruitful and multiply.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: Bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiply in it.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: Genesis chapter 9, verses 6 through 7.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: The Noaic covenant was not so much given for a redemptive purpose as it was for providing for preserving the earth from further or complete destruction, and this by God's common grace for love, he bestowed upon a sinful world.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: There are two forms of social stability without which nations will not survive.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: Without a magistrate who will put the murderer to death and stop violence in the streets, there can be no safe, secure, and sustainable social order.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: And without some protection of the natural means God has ordained for the procreation of children and the safe nurture of these children and families who will care for them, there can be no perpetuation of the generations.
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: Genesis chapter nine, verse twelve.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: The only possibility for regaining any kind of stability for a nation, therefore, is to at least agree on a common set of values, values that align as closely as possible with God's law.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Fundamentally, social stability will be a function of the well-being of the family unit.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: That being the case, the magistrate of any sustainable nation must register some commitment to the solidity of marriage, the protection of sexuality, and the promotion of procreation.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: Now and then throughout the history of the world, some tribes just die out.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: Some cities will rot out.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: This usually happens when tribal leaders and magistrates give way to sexual perversion and forego bearing children themselves.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: Ancient kings were not too keen on promoting barrenness, as what has happened in modern nation states, because they were interested in siring a son who would carry on their dynasty.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: Moreover, most kings were smart enough to figure out the principle contained in Proverbs chapter 14, verse 28.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: Such wisdom has eluded the leaders of 97% of first world countries and a full 103 nations in the world today that cannot seem to keep their fertility rates above 2.1.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: In a multitude of people is a king's honor, but in the lack of people is the downfall of a prince.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: Proverbs chapter 14, verse 28.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: The steepest decline in fertility rates, signaling extreme social destabilization in the first two decades of the 21st century are South Korea, a 51% drop, Taiwan, a forty-eight percent drop, China, a forty percent drop, Turkey, a forty percent drop, India, a 39% drop, and Brazil 33% drop.
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: Typically, the large cities contributed to the leftist bent of a nation.
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: These populations would vote for the leftist party, the Democratic Party, in the United States, and they were called the Blue Cities.
- 41:54SPEAKER_00: In the 2020 presidential election, about six cities, making up only 6 to 12% of their respective state populations, swung the whole election by 75 electoral votes.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: The rest of the state and each of these states would vote for the more conservative candidate.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: These cities were wholly committed to abortion, sexual perversion, and barrenness.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: Policies aimed to destroy the family.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: For example, while the American birth rate was already painfully low, fertility was far worse for America's bluest cities like Seattle, Boston, Portland, and Denver.
- 42:36SPEAKER_00: By their governmental policies and educational systems, these cities promoted fatherlessness, sexual perversion, abortion, feminism, and other policies that broke down the nuclear family.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: These social policies cannot possibly sustain human civilization.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Modern libertarians or libertines might agree with the element in the Noaic covenant that seeks to restrain murder and preserve a right to life.
- 43:06SPEAKER_00: However, they see no state interest in the preservation of the family or sexuality.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: Thus, the libertarian worldview promotes sexual perversion and abortion.
- 43:19SPEAKER_00: For example, the 2024 Libertarian Party candidate for U.S.
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: president was a self-proclaimed homosexual.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: Neither modern libertarianism or social liberalism is capable of preserving human society.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: Technological tyranny.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: Modern leaders have less and less commitment to the future of their respective nations.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: Each successive generation is less likely to get married, bear children, raise their children well, and maintain a stable society.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: Killing children killed motherhood and decimated natural love.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: The sexual revolution and social welfareism undermined marriage and rendered fatherhood obsolete.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: Technology contributed more toward improving methods for killing babies, especially with the recent development of the day after pill, the RU four eighty six abortion pill, and the IUD.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: The majority of abortions are now committed by these technologies, all of which were unavailable until the turn of the 21st century.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: In past centuries, witches and cunning women would administer the deadly drugs, sometimes resulting in the death of the woman and sometimes not.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: But now, modern science has facilitated, popularized, and mass-produced effective methods for this deadly practice.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: The drug trade is hard to regulate, and the murder of children hard to detect, especially when the murders happen in the early months of pregnancy.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: Regulating any kind of drug is hard to do without great expense and effort on the part of the police and magistrates.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: Biotechnologists have also honed methods of mass-producing orphans, defined as children whose parents have died or have permanently abandoned them.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: Orphans are produced in laboratories now, many of which die in the process, and others of which are put in cold storage, permanently abandoned.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: Some Christian families adopt these frozen embryos in hopes of making a difference.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: But the current rate of 150 embryo adoptions or so per year hardly serves as a drop in the bucket when compared to the 3 million IBF in vitro fertilization treatments done each year, out of which two to five embryos are unused and either discarded or frozen.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: If Christian moms are expected to bear everybody else's embryos by adoption, how would they ever keep up with the millions of embryos produced each year by IVF?
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: The cost of such adoptions runs anywhere from$10,000 to$20,000, and the whole business amounts to buying and selling babies.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: Any purchase of a baby like this would increase demand and thereby facilitate and encourage more supply.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: To make matters worse, homosexuals farm these embryos out to women who agree to carry the children and their wombs until birth.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: The homosexuals pay$150,000 to$200,000 to gain access to a child through this macabre practice.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: Such technology is cruel, unnatural, and perverted, even exceeding the evils of slavery in a bygone era.
- 46:59SPEAKER_00: China and other dystopian nations continue working on mechanical womb for raising more orphans who would think of themselves more as minions of the state than belonging to human families and real human relationships.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: Japan, the United States, Spain, Belgium, and Denmark lead the world in IVF.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Modern civil governments have taken significant strides toward destroying the family by these means.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: Legalizing abortion, funding child killing.
- 47:35SPEAKER_00: Manufacturing orphans or allowing for it, indoctrinating children in perverse sexuality and undermining fatherhood.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: Since feminism has encouraged divorce, loosened divorce laws, advocated for abortion, discouraged motherhood, and rejected the family economy, this has become the primary ideological force behind these government policies.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: Between 15 and 25% of American families have had abortions.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: Since 40% of children are born outside of wedlock in the U.S., and 40% of marriages end in divorce, that means at least 50% of children born in the 2000s spent some portion of their childhood and a single parent family as a result.
- 48:27SPEAKER_00: Unhealthy forms and usages of technology will also destabilize a society by contributing to mental illnesses, creating higher levels of paranoia, adding to the cacophony of thousands of contradicting inputs, sharing fake news from every possible side of the political spectrum, spreading misinformation at lightning speed and eroding trust toward all institutions, including churches, Christian ministries, the entire medical complex, pretty much all media, and all science, including methodologically rigorous forms.
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: At the turn of the 21st century, most Americans encountered news within a more centralized and overlapping information ecosystem.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: While ideological disagreements certainly existed, there was greater exposure to shared narratives and common sources.
- 49:26SPEAKER_00: The rapid expansion of social media platforms, podcasts, blogs, and algorithm-driven content has since decentralized information flows dramatically.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: This fragmentation has coincided with rising ideological polarization, greater social segmentation, and increased political volatility.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: As shared informational ground narrows, social cohesion weakens.
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: Social, cultural, economic, and political revolutions.
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: God's just dealings with the nations of the world may be witnessed in the political, social, and cultural revolutions that played out over the last one hundred and fifty years.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: Marxism spearheaded much of this and ended up ravaging social and economic structures in Russia, Eastern European countries, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and China.
- 50:27SPEAKER_00: The experiment has manifestly failed everywhere it has been tried.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: China, Russia, Ukraine, and nations in Eastern Europe backed off of the Marxist form, but the damage was already done.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: The GDP per capita of Russia and Eastern Europe was still only 30 to 40% that of Western Europe in the 2020s.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: The same can be said of the South American communist countries, where their GDP per capita registered only 25 to 40% that of surrounding nations.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: These revolutions have spread into North America and Europe in the form of soft socialism.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: This is decimating the family, destroying marriage, driving debt to GDP ratios higher, undermining fatherhood, retarding economies, producing a draconian state, imploding birth rates, perverting sexuality, deconstructing culture, curtailing liberties, and instilling dread, fear, and mistrust in society.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: Karl Marx referred to himself as the destroyer or Apoleon in his prose writings, and his agenda has proven destructive everywhere, whether it be Marxism in the cultural or political form.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: The blood on the streets revolutions and civil wars add to the misery of the people when governments fail to maintain stability and peace.
- 52:01SPEAKER_00: When the dust is clear, the Soviet communists had killed 61 million of their own people.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: Mao Zedong managed to kill an estimated 38 million.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: Cambodia, Vietnam, and North Korea killed two million each.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: Communist revolutions left a total of 100 million people dead in these fateful attempts to create a humanist and atheist utopia on Earth.
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: God is sovereign over this too.
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: This is what nations look like under God's judgment.
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: The rise of the dictators.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: Each of these strong men that terrorized their own countries in the twentieth century offer prime examples of God's judgment upon the nations Iraq, Libya, Uganda, Cambodia, Germany, Russia, and China.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: The question immediately occurs to any thoughtful student of history, how and why did these monsters come into power?
- 53:15SPEAKER_00: At some point, each of these men must have appealed to the people whom they led.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: They all presented themselves as saviors.
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: The people trusted in them.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: These modern tyrants fed into the humanist impulse to worship the state and trust in man.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: The nations will trade off one bad government for a worse one, always looking for salvation from their economic and social woes.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: The dictator leader works hard on his public image.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: He blurs the line between the state and the leader.
- 53:49SPEAKER_00: All the honor and glory must be channeled toward himself.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: His right to rule or authority finds its basis in a cult of personality.
- 54:01SPEAKER_00: The North Korean Kim dynasty exemplified this model to the extreme.
- 54:07SPEAKER_00: Tyrants exploit the instability of economic collapse and national humiliation.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: Like Adolf Hitler, they appeal to national pride, they fashion themselves as messiahs, they believe themselves to be saviors and the people concur.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: They promise a grandiose vision of a utopian state.
- 54:27SPEAKER_00: Once received into power, they begin systematically stripping back any checks to their own power base.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: They survive and thrive off of fear, usually mixed up with sentiments of admiration on the part of the citizenry.
- 54:43SPEAKER_00: If there was any fear of God with the people, that is all replaced by a fear of man.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: These tyrants will enforce arbitrary laws in a selective and arbitrary manner.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: They will resort to torture, forced confessions, and bloody pogroms.
- 55:02SPEAKER_00: They stir up the hatred of the people toward a scapegoat, as in Adolf Hitler toward the Jews or Idi Amin toward the Asian immigrants in Uganda.
- 55:13SPEAKER_00: They will pick fights and stir up war with neighboring countries to distract the populace from national ills and further entrench their own power base.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: Adolf Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and Poland, inspiring a world war.
- 55:30SPEAKER_00: Idi Amin invaded Tanzania, and Saddam Hussein invaded Iran.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: Opposition party members and journalists disappear by the hundreds, and everybody else sits and wonders who comes next in the purge.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: The tyrant builds his government on the currency of absolute and undying loyalty.
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: He has taken himself to be a god, but his too obvious lack of qualifications for assuming that position of deity fosters within himself a perpetual and ever increasing sense of insecurity and paranoia.
- 56:07SPEAKER_00: He can never be omnipresent or omniscient enough.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: He relies more heavily on his secret police and surveillance apparatus.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: He foments distrust among the populace, rewarding informants and sycophants while publicly shaming all critics of the regime.
- 56:26SPEAKER_00: He encourages ethnic and class divisions to ensure that no opposition group can coordinate effectively against his apparatus of power.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: The tyrant does all he can to resist revolution, unrest, and dissent.
- 56:43SPEAKER_00: He controls the media.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: He shuts down the Internet.
- 56:46SPEAKER_00: He floods the country with his own propaganda.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: He creates alternate realities and false narratives concerning the national quality of life, economic conditions, standards of ethics and justice, and the successes of his own government.
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: He rewrites history and brainwashes the youth by government-funded and controlled education.
- 57:10SPEAKER_00: He persecutes the Christian church and shuts down all public evangelism, preaching, and worship.
- 57:16SPEAKER_00: He bans all weapons.
- 57:18SPEAKER_00: He eliminates lower magistrates who might act autonomously from his own immediate authority and direction.
- 57:26SPEAKER_00: Truth control, arms control, and power control are equally important for the tyrant whose major objective is to stay in power.
- 57:37SPEAKER_00: His goal is perpetuity, the indefinite tyrannical rule over a people by sheer coercive power forever and ever.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: Wherever such evils are visited upon the nations, we may at least say one thing.
- 57:55SPEAKER_00: That is no accident.
- 57:57SPEAKER_00: These are just more examples of God's temporal judgments in the earth.
- 58:03SPEAKER_00: The curse of drug abuse upon the nations.
- 58:07SPEAKER_00: Drug abuse is one more curse upon the whole world, a family destroying toxin that eats away at the social structure of nations.
- 58:17SPEAKER_00: Almost forty percent of Americans are using marijuana to date, and 17% of American adults are said to have a serious drug problem.
- 58:26SPEAKER_00: Judging from the sheer numbers of people who died from drug and alcohol related issues since the turn of the century, we would have to conclude that the problem has gotten worse.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: The rate tripled for twenty somethings and doubled for just about everybody else in the space of twenty years.
- 58:45SPEAKER_00: It is one thing for single men and women to commit suicide or to initiate the process of suicide by drug abuse, but it is quite another matter when this occurs in families.
- 58:58SPEAKER_00: Drug abuse has been devastating to the inner city family, especially.
- 59:03SPEAKER_00: A brief history of the state's role in drug enforcement.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: Drug abuse has been around for a long time.
- 59:10SPEAKER_00: There were those who could afford recreational drug use among the elite in the great empires of Rome and Greece, some of which died of this vice.
- 59:20SPEAKER_00: Romans chapter 13, verse 13, and 1 Peter 4, verse 3 warned of the drunken parties common in the Gentile world.
- 59:29SPEAKER_00: This lifestyle was so common that the crowds actually thought it strange that Christians did not participate.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lewdness, lust, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation speaking evil of you.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_00: During the European Christian age, drug abuse as well as abortion and egregious forms of sexual perversion largely disappeared.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_00: But then again, the humanist enlightenment of the 1600s brought on a severe moral lapse in England and France and reintroduced drug abuse and alcohol abuse, sometimes by trade with pagan countries.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_00: London's gin craze from the 1720s to the 1750s produced an epidemic of alcohol addiction that resulted in something close to a social collapse.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_00: Thankfully, the Great Awakening intervened.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_00: The opium trade entered China from Persia and India during the Mongol period of the Wan Dynasty, 1271 to 1368.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_00: By the 17th century, Portuguese and Arab Muslim traders were mixing processed opium with tobacco for the Chinese market.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_00: Smoking the mixture produced a stronger, intoxicating effect and proved far more addictive.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_00: Of all the shameful deeds committed by the Western powers, none was worse than the opium wars of 1839 and 1856.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_00: While Christian missionaries were trying to bring the gospel of Jesus into China for the first time, the British East India Company was sponsoring a booming opium business.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_00: The company had inherited the opium fields from the Muslim moguls, after which they began exporting the stuff to China around 1781.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_00: Over the next 50 years, the Chinese market for opium expanded by 1,800%, between 100,000 and 200,000 Chinese men and women were dying annually of drug-related causes, similar to what the United States was experiencing in the 21st century.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_00: Obviously concerned for the survival of their nation, the Chinese government tried banning the import of the drug in 1796.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_00: The Qing Imperial Court again issued a ban in 1810 stating that opium has a harm.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_00: Opium is a poison undermining our good customs and morality.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_00: Its use is prohibited by law.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_00: The Chinese authorities were executing drug dealers by 1838 and shortly thereafter commenced seizing British factories and ships carrying the narcotic.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_00: The British were not happy with these actions, about as disappointed as Venezuela and Colombia were with President Donald Trump's interference with their drug trade in the 2020s.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_00: The first opium war broke out in 1839, handily won by the British, resulting in the Treaty of Nanking in 1842, ceding Hong Kong to the British, which they held on to until 1997.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_00: Later, Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone, an evangelical Christian, commented on this shameful period in British history.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_00: Speaking to the British Parliament, Gladstone says he was in dread of the judgments of God upon England for our national inequity toward China, and he could not think of a war more unjust in its origin, a war more calculated in its progress to cover this country with permanent disgrace.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_00: The UK Pharmacy Act of 1868 introduced regulation on the distribution of opium, morphine, and cocaine at pharmacies.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_00: This was followed up by the UK Dangerous Drugs Act of 1920.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_00: The U.S.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_00: joined suit in 1914 with the Harrison Narcotics Tax Act, placing controls on opium, morphine, heroin, and cocaine.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_00: The modern world is plagued with this terrible vice for several reasons.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_00: Wealthy nations retain enough disposable income and time to waste on it.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_00: Men have attempted to avoid responsibility to provide for their own households by advancing the welfare state, which is supposed to take care of women and children.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_00: Escapism into any and all diversions and opiates, the use of pornography, and convenience divorce.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_00: Drunkenness has been around at least since Noah's inebriation recorded in Genesis chapter nine.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_00: God's law does not ban alcohol, nor does it require a civil penalty for those who participate in drunken parties.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_00: Most definitely, however, Christians must not share in this.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_00: The church is expected to hold men accountable for the sin of drunkenness, especially those who are given to it on a habitual basis.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_00: But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother who is sexually immoral or covetous or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even to eat with such a person.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: Possessing versus promoting drugs.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_00: All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_00: All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_00: All of God's physical creation is good and serves the good purpose for which He designed it.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_00: Too much of anything can be detrimental to a person's health.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_00: Ingesting a gallon of water within a few hours can be dangerous.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_00: On the other hand, minute amounts of arsenic will not produce any health risk to the body.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_00: Drinking water may contain up to ten parts per billion of arsenic, for example.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_00: What can civil governments do when people insist on taking any one of a thousand poisons, whether that be ingesting too much water, alcohol, arsenic, glue, sleeping medication, or any other drug?
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_00: Churches, schools, and private health organizations should do everything they can to educate a society on the irresponsible use of all substances.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_00: Christian societies must teach concerning the immorality of intoxication, the dangers of various substances, the reasons for man's tendency to escape reality and pursue diversions, the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ that saves us from the miseries of this world and the world to come.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_00: There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy chapter 18, verse 10.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_00: When the ancient Hebrew scholars translated the Old Testament into the Greek language, they chose the word pharmacose for sorcery.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_00: This word is also used for sorcerers and sorcery in Galatians chapter 5, verse 20, and Revelation 9, verse 21, chapter 18, verse 23, chapter 21, verse 8, and chapter 22, verse 15.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_00: The word is associated with the use of hallucinogenic drugs.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_00: The word refers to the characteristic use of drugs for entering into a trance state on the part of shamans and sorcerers.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_00: These mind-altering drugs are known to facilitate communication with the spirit world or demons.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_00: The ancient witch doctors would also recommend henbane, mushrooms, opium, and ergot for entering into a trance-like state and bridging into the spiritual world.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_00: These sorcerers use drugs and sold drugs for the purposes of manipulating hidden forces and communicating with the demon world, as well as including others in these spiritual exercises.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_00: In essence, the sorcerer is a drug dealer and promotes a demonic religion.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_00: The Latin American drug cartels are famous for occult practices, particularly their worship of the death demon, Santa Muerte.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_00: This religion is attended by ritual sacrifices, spell casting, and demonic invocations, and these are huge contributors to the persistent criminal brutality and instability in Mexican society.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_00: The most dangerous cities in the world by the metric of sheer brutality are Colima and Cuidad, Obregón, Mexico, followed by Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and Caracas, Venezuela, all areas controlled by witchcraft and drug smugglers.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_00: For obvious reasons, the Bible absolutely forbids human sacrifice and sorcery commonly practiced in pagan societies and by modern drug cartels.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy 18, verse 10.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_00: The Christian state.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_00: Will not tolerate such practices.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_00: The civil magistrate, therefore, must ban the sale and promotion of strongly mind-altering drugs like opium, cocaine, marijuana, and fentanyl.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_00: Keep in mind that the sorcerer is a promoter, a pusher, and a peddler.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_00: The magistrate may properly prosecute a pusher while not getting tied up in searching every house and every person's possessions for the presence of drugs.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_00: Based on biblical law, then, the prosecution goes for the seller or sorcerer rather than the buyer.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_00: This provides a major corrective for misguided anti-drug programs that clog up the prison system.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_00: For example, 88% of the drug prosecutions in the U.S.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_00: as of 2023 were for possession and only 12% were for dealing drugs.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_00: Removing 88% of these men and women from prison systems would save taxpayers about$16 billion per year and return 320,000 persons to families and workplaces.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_00: Churches and private ministries would do better ministering the gospel to them than to place these users in prisons, a system that has no basis in biblical law.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_00: Rather than imprisoning hundreds of thousands of individuals for possession of drugs, it would be better to go after the drug dealers, even to the point of capital punishment, Exodus chapter 22, verse 18.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_00: According to the wisdom provided in biblical law, the magistrate would be responsible only for controlling the distribution of mind-altering drugs.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_00: Currently, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam maintain the strictest laws applied to drug trafficking in the modern world.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_00: Consequently, these nations have extremely minimal problems with drug abuse.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_00: The scriptures also recommend a strong sanction for the drunk driver or the person that kills somebody while under the influence of alcohol.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_00: Exodus chapter 21, verse 29.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_00: The drunk driver is the prime modern application of the unrestrained bull that likes to thrust his horn.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_00: There are 12,400 people killed by drivers under the influence of alcohol in a year in the United States, which amounts to 27% of all fatal accidents.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_00: That compares to about 1 million arrests for minor crimes relating to drugs and alcohol, which would be more of a deterrent or inculcate the fear of God in a society?
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_00: 12,400 executions for killing people while operating vehicles under the influence, or one million arrests for possession of alcohol or drugs, or some other minor infraction.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_00: If prosecutions were reduced from one million to twelve thousand convictions and the death penalty was restored, the$300 billion spent on police and prisons each year in the U.S.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_00: could be reduced anywhere from three to ten billion dollars.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_00: To reiterate what has already been said, God's approach to handling crime is far more sensible than anything the modern world has experimented with.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_00: God's law holds back from regulating hundreds of millions of people and prosecuting millions of people for minor infractions.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_00: Rather, biblical law would enforce the death penalty, or in some cases, forced exile, for tens of thousands of murderers, drug dealers, and rapists, as well as offering significant financial restitution to victims of theft and sexual crimes.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_00: But then again, God's word does permit strong drink for the dying.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_00: Proverbs chapter 31, verses 6 through 7.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_00: Those suffering intense pain from a terminal illness may need some tough painkillers, strong alcohol, benzodiazepins, codine, and dimerol are less mind-altering than mushrooms, cocaine, opium, and the like, and are not used for the purpose of mind-altering effects.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_00: This biblical approach also reduces the need for inspections of people's gardens, farms, and homes for certain illegal substances.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_00: The prosecution would focus more on the promotion of sorcery and the sale of mind-altering drugs.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_00: Such criminal actions are fairly easily identified by law enforcement in the marketplace using a sting or some other investigation technique on the street without carrying out invasive searches into private homes.
- 1:14:33SPEAKER_00: Operating by God's standards will maximize liberty for the majority of a population while prosecuting criminal agents for serious crimes.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_00: This legal approach would also obsolete bureaucracies like the Food and Drug Administration, which impose regulations on farms, raw milk, egg production, medical cures, cosmetics, food, tobacco, dietary supplements, non-mind-altering herbs, or the need for a Department of Agriculture regulating agriculturally produced substances, veterinary products, organic substances, pesticides, and so forth.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_00: Should the farms and manufacturers in a biblically regulated economy send products to market without rigorous inspections and testing or compliance to privately established quality and safety standards, they would violate contracts with their consumers, and that would call for compensation by restitution to victims.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_00: Pornography and prostitution.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_00: The hiring out of a woman for sinful, shameful acts was first recorded in Genesis chapter 38.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_00: The practice was almost universally present in ancient societies, sometimes associated with heathen temples and sometimes found in other contexts.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_00: We find Humaradi's code in later Assyrian laws, for example, issuing regulations on inheritance rights for prostitutes.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_00: When encountering a legal problem between two prostitutes, King Solomon made no effort to ban prostitution, but merely to resolve a dispute by a judicial call, 1 Kings chapter 3, verses 16 through 28.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_00: Early church theologian Augustine of Hippo could not imagine a human society where prostitution would be entirely eliminated in a sinful world like ours.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_00: Writing in the 5th century, Augustine said, Remove prostitutes from human affairs, and you will unsettle everything with lust.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_00: Some 800 years later, church theologian Thomas Aquinas agreed.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_00: Prostitutes in society are like the sewers in a palace.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_00: Remove the sewers and the palace becomes foul and stinking.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_00: During the Christian era, rulers over Christian lands would prosecute serious sexual sin like adultery.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_00: But not all sexual sin was seen as equally prosecutable according to biblical law.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_00: Prostitution is a consequence of multiple failure points in human society, the inevitable presence of lust and lasidiousness with fallen man, a fatal lapse of fatherhood, especially in providing proper affection and support for daughters, the impoverishment of single women in bad economies, young men who lack the character or finances to marry, unsavory marriages where conjugal rights are denied, and economies or conditions where few women are available for marriage.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_00: Biblical law offers no direct civil penalty for prostitution, except for the priest's daughter who leaves her father's household and voluntarily pursues the perversion.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_00: Leviticus chapter 21, verse 9.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_00: The practice is strongly condemned on moral terms.
- 1:18:06SPEAKER_00: Leviticus chapter 19, verse 29, and Deuteronomy chapter 23, verses 17 through 18.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_00: And more egregious sexual crimes are subjected to penalties.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_00: For example, Leviticus chapter 20, verse 10.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_00: The Greeks and the Romans were known for pornographic imagery, but the widespread proliferation of licentious pictures is a more recent phenomenon, coming about largely after the development of the photograph, the moving picture, and the internet.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_00: While one would be hard-pressed to find biblical law that censors books, literature, or internet websites, there are certain laws that, if enforced, would very much temper the proliferation of pornography and dampen popular interest in it.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_00: Kidnapping a child into the slave trade should be treated as a death penalty crime.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_00: Exodus chapter 21, verse 16.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_00: Nations like the UK, the U.S., and Canada report as many as a thousand child kidnappings in a year.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_00: Also, certain severe sexual crimes warrant capital punishment.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy chapter 22, verses 17 through 25.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_00: Once again, laws addressing the production of pornography would be more in alignment with biblical jurisprudence than possession laws.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_00: Possession laws lend themselves to a person being unjustly framed, such as when an enemy purposefully places the bad content on somebody's computer.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_00: Producing deviant forms of pornography should merit severe sanctions for those involved, either for the producers or actors.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_00: The forwarding of licentious pictures by sexting or AI imaging is a form of false witnessing, public shaming or slander.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_00: This also must result in severe fines or tougher sanctions.
- 1:20:07SPEAKER_00: A false witness that attempts to spread lies about another person involved in some sexual crime would be subject to a serious fine or something more severe.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy chapter nineteen verses sixteen through twenty one, chapter twenty two verses seventeen through eighteen, chapter twenty eight through twenty nine.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_00: The state's role in family policy.
- 1:20:32SPEAKER_00: The best things the state can do to save the family is to stop funding and promoting child killing, and to stop accommodating sexual perversion and other family killing practices.
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_00: The state must not allow for adultery, homosexuality, or convenience divorce.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_00: Adultery is a worse case crime, punishable by severe fines paid to the victims of abandonment and divorce, or more severe sanctions.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_00: With any divorce involving sexual sin and abandonment, the guilty party should forfeit all financial benefit and generally forfeit child custody.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_00: If these measures were taken for the first tier problems, then there would be less concern for addressing the secondary family destroying pathogens of drugs, prostitution and pornography.
- 1:21:26SPEAKER_00: A sinful world will commit sexual sin.
- 1:21:30SPEAKER_00: Controlling substances and absolutely preventing all sexual sin is not possible by the sheer force of legislatures, police, and courts.
- 1:21:41SPEAKER_00: Gambling.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_00: For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in his sight, but to the sinner he gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_00: Ecclesiastes twenty six As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he who gets riches but not by right.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_00: It will leave him in the midst of his days, and at the end he will be a fool.
- 1:22:12SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah seventeen, verse eleven.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_00: Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- 1:22:32SPEAKER_00: 1 Timothy 6, verses 9 through ten.
- 1:22:36SPEAKER_00: The vice of gambling is one way that wealth transfers from the chronically covetous and the get rich quick crowd into the hands of others with the same problem.
- 1:22:47SPEAKER_00: Gambling epidemics also signal God's judgment on a nation that refuses to acknowledge the source of their blessings and have given way to worshiping and serving mammon.
- 1:22:59SPEAKER_00: On the metric of gambling losses per gross national income, G and I, the big losers are Australia, Italy, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the United States.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_00: God's word soundly condemns all greed, the love of money, and get rich quick schemes.
- 1:23:21SPEAKER_00: When it comes to vices like this, the higher concern is the irresponsible father who is worse than an infidel and refuses to provide for the material needs of his wife, his children, his mother, and grandmother.
- 1:23:35SPEAKER_00: 1 Timothy 5, verse 8.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_00: Such situations as what we find in 1 Timothy 5, verse 8, are matters for church discipline.
- 1:23:45SPEAKER_00: But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he is denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- 1:23:56SPEAKER_00: 1 Timothy 5, verse 8.
- 1:24:00SPEAKER_00: Finding stability, how nations repent.
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_00: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all who were carried away captive, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon.
- 1:24:14SPEAKER_00: Build houses and dwell in them, plant gardens and eat their fruit, take wives and beget sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters, that you may be increased there and not diminished, and seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it, for in its peace you will have peace.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah chapter twenty nine, verses four through seven.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_00: This chapter has reviewed the destabilizing factors for modern nations or any nation under God's judgment throughout the history of the world.
- 1:24:57SPEAKER_00: But now, how will nations return to stability once they have jettisoned family values and Christian principles?
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_00: Herein lies the greatest challenge for the present world.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_00: We all have an interest in the stability, peace, and prosperity of the nations in which God has put us.
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_00: What follows then is a list of policies and actions that wise Christian leaders may employ so as to extend the life of a nation.
- 1:25:26SPEAKER_00: Number one, decentralize power to faithful local governments.
- 1:25:31SPEAKER_00: This, of course, will only prove effective if there are God-fearing local governments left.
- 1:25:38SPEAKER_00: Consolidating power or centralizing power is not the answer.
- 1:25:42SPEAKER_00: This is usually attempted in order to establish national integrity and stability, but any positive effects of such policies, if there will be any, are only short term.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_00: Transgressing more of God's laws for the civil magistrate to fix the problems in a society is not the solution.
- 1:26:03SPEAKER_00: Christians cannot support tyranny as if this were a solution to the world's problems.
- 1:26:10SPEAKER_00: Man is not competent to handle high levels of centralized power with wisdom and God's justice.
- 1:26:17SPEAKER_00: Man is not a god.
- 1:26:19SPEAKER_00: In the end, centralization of powers will only contribute to more social upset.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_00: The most powerful men on earth cannot maintain large systems of governance.
- 1:26:32SPEAKER_00: If they manage to keep it going for a few years, their progeny usually lack the character to maintain the system.
- 1:26:39SPEAKER_00: As with the little boy who builds his tower of blocks, the higher he goes, the more vulnerable the system is to collapse.
- 1:26:47SPEAKER_00: Man builds his towers so high they will fall down.
- 1:26:52SPEAKER_00: Therefore, the better way to run a country is to decentralize power and privatize the economy.
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_00: To the extent that wise governors empower families, private charities, private schools, private businesses and churches, they will extend the survival and prosperity of a nation.
- 1:27:11SPEAKER_00: Insofar as wise leaders push power downhill into the hands of state and local governments, they will extend the life of the nation.
- 1:27:21SPEAKER_00: Number two, just a few decent laws legislated and administered, addressing the serious problems of murder, violent crime, and sexual crime could go a long way to restoring some order in a society.
- 1:27:37SPEAKER_00: Swift executions, or in some cases, exile for recent immigrants who engage in violent crimes is also very much in order.
- 1:27:46SPEAKER_00: Instead of going after secondary and tertiary crimes, the magistrate should focus on cold-blooded murder, child kidnapping, and abuse, homosexual-related abuse, abortion, adulterous and wives, and vehicular manslaughter committed by drivers under the influence, followed up with more severe penalties.
- 1:28:11SPEAKER_00: Number three, a godly leader like King Josiah can institute a few reforms at the national level, but that will do little good if there is no change of heart among the people.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_00: When addressing a localized calamity of a tower falling or a misbegotten revolution, the Lord Jesus Christ offered this universal takeaway, unless you repent, you will likewise perish.
- 1:28:36SPEAKER_00: Luke chapter 13, verse 5.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_00: There were present at that season some who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
- 1:28:49SPEAKER_00: And Jesus answered and said to them, Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
- 1:29:00SPEAKER_00: I tell you no.
- 1:29:01SPEAKER_00: But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
- 1:29:05SPEAKER_00: Or these eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_00: I tell you no.
- 1:29:17SPEAKER_00: But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
- 1:29:22SPEAKER_00: Luke chapter 13, verses one through five.
- 1:29:26SPEAKER_00: This is the message for every tribe and nation that has invoked the judgment of God and has already experienced the harbinger of it.
- 1:29:36SPEAKER_00: Judgment begins in the household of God.
- 1:29:42SPEAKER_00: As long as the churches are rife with unresolved conflict, unforgiveness, pride, pornography use, birth implosions, the use of abortifacience, convenience divorce and remarriage, woke theology, disunity, and two percent tithers, there is no hope for the nation.
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_00: Without revival and reformation in the grassroots, there can be no salvaging of peace and prosperity for any nation.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_00: But let us never underestimate the mercy of God and his willingness to relent on judgment.
- 1:30:20SPEAKER_00: Incredibly, he was merciful to King Agab when he demonstrated what appeared to be superficial remorse for his treatment of Naboth.
- 1:30:29SPEAKER_00: 1 Kings chapter 21, verse 29.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_00: He was merciful to King Manasseh, one of the worst kings to ever rule in Judah upon his repentance.
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_00: 2 Chronicles chapter 33, verses 1 through 20.
- 1:30:44SPEAKER_00: He was merciful to Nineveh and postponed judgment for almost 200 years after Jonah's warnings and the king's repentance.
- 1:30:53SPEAKER_00: Jonah chapter 3, verses 9 through 10.
- 1:30:56SPEAKER_00: Nebuchadnezzar humbled himself and God restored his rule in Babylon.
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_00: Daniel chapter 4, verses 34 through 37.
- 1:31:05SPEAKER_00: The Lord waits to show mercy.
- 1:31:07SPEAKER_00: Isaiah chapter 30, verse 18.
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_00: Humbled leaders and national repentance may at any point secure a postponement of God's judgment upon any particular nation today as well.
- 1:31:20SPEAKER_00: Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought would bring.
- 1:31:41SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah chapter 18, verse 5, and verses 7 through 8.
