A local black bear nicknamed “Shelby” is causing a stir in North Shelby County, spotted everywhere from shopping centers to neighborhoods — and going viral on social media. Wildlife experts say this is totally normal: young male bears are dispersing from their moms this time of year, sometimes traveling over 100 miles in search of new territory.
