Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio and
- 0:04Speaker 1: two times People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we're scrubbing in.
- 0:19Speaker 3: As we clop clop.
- 0:21Speaker 4: I love it.
- 0:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I too. That's a tone. Yeah, it's a vibe.
- 0:28Speaker 2: So, as we said in Monday's episode, we are doing
- 0:31Speaker 2: a little continuation of Q and A for the proposal.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Quite a deluge of questions.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, wow.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Well, the thing is is that we weren't anticipating doing
- 0:44Speaker 2: a Q and A last week, but you asked the
- 0:48Speaker 2: scrubbing in, so they had very limited time to submit
- 0:50Speaker 2: their questions. So we got to what we could and
- 0:53Speaker 2: then and then we were like, we'll do a part two.
- 0:56Speaker 3: So many good ones here, so many good ones, so
- 0:59Speaker 3: many good ones.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Mark and Easton find out pretty much when the Instagram. Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 4: and then I found out when Sam called me. I
- 1:07Speaker 4: was driving in for the podcast and Sam the producer
- 1:10Speaker 4: called me and told me. Easton saw on Instagram. Yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 4: I was.
- 1:14Speaker 6: I was recording are you a Charlotte and the other
- 1:17Speaker 6: and said, oh my god, you have to go to
- 1:19Speaker 6: Burbank immediately.
- 1:22Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I It was interesting because when we told we told
- 1:29Speaker 2: like called people, and then that was kind of it.
- 1:32Speaker 2: We were just like stayed off social media and then
- 1:34Speaker 2: we're like, we'll announce it, you know, crying.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Oh did you did you hear crack in her voice?
- 1:39Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 1:41Speaker 1: No, just moving one that really crat.
- 1:46Speaker 3: You'll make me cry.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Well, they didn't be officiating. I think that's an excellent choice.
- 1:50Speaker 3: That's great. Do you feel like I feel like you'd
- 1:55Speaker 3: cry the whole time?
- 1:57Speaker 6: I came it together. I've done it befo for I've
- 2:01Speaker 6: done it two or three times, so I'm a pro.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I need some footage. We're gonna need an audition.
- 2:08Speaker 2: No, actually I've I've That's been interesting because the actual
- 2:13Speaker 2: ceremony feels super far away.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But we were thinking, like thinking, you're going to think
- 2:18Speaker 3: about it.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that's far You're still gonna like that idea.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Well, I'm here, available and willing should you want it.
- 2:25Speaker 6: And I'm sure there's a lot of people that might.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Be at the wedding regardless of you're if there's a
- 2:30Speaker 2: role or maybe flower girl or something.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Yes, what other names have you been tossing around?
- 2:45Speaker 2: We had a few names we tossed around. Robbie, Yeah, Cigar,
- 2:49Speaker 2: that would be great.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Too.
- 2:50Speaker 2: We tossed around Jordan Rogers. Yeah, we had a few
- 2:54Speaker 2: just like names that we th are out there of
- 2:56Speaker 2: like people who know us and would be able to
- 2:59Speaker 2: make get personable, but also like have the attention of
- 3:02Speaker 2: the room and didn't go too deep into like inside
- 3:05Speaker 2: jokes or anything. Like I really feel like Ryan did
- 3:08Speaker 2: such a great job. It felt very much geared towards job,
- 3:10Speaker 2: but not like inside jokes where everyone's like okay.
- 3:14Speaker 3: But I don't get it right right, So yeah, I
- 3:19Speaker 3: love that idea. Ring bears.
- 3:23Speaker 1: On behalf of my husband who is not here. I
- 3:26Speaker 1: would like to say I think he would do an
- 3:28Speaker 1: amazing job.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah, well listen, there's a lot of time, so there's.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, if there's someone who can give a good moving speech,
- 3:38Speaker 1: oh my gosh.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Even on the call to them, Robbie is like I
- 3:42Speaker 2: just want to say, oh yeah, and we all are
- 3:45Speaker 2: like sobbing, even him, He's like I'm gonna cry.
- 3:47Speaker 3: But he was just like the most emotional speech.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I was like, what, Well, he did know you guys
- 3:55Speaker 1: were getting engaged, so he had some time where I
- 3:57Speaker 1: was just like crying hysterically saying like and he's like,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I just want to say all I have y'all, you
- 4:09Speaker 1: skipped one that I wanted to get to after calling
- 4:12Speaker 1: Tanya and Robbie, who was next on your list to call.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I don't remember specifically the order, but it was I
- 4:19Speaker 2: called Ali Jojo.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Well, if you don't remember the order, then I mean
- 4:28Speaker 5: it's allid wash. All I know is that was first.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I knew it wouldn't mean as much to anyone else,
- 4:35Speaker 3: but you, who is going.
- 4:38Speaker 4: To be the most into wedding planning. Does one of
- 4:40Speaker 4: you not really care take a back seat and the
- 4:42Speaker 4: decision making? Are you equally interested and excited and invested
- 4:45Speaker 4: in the details, Tanya, that's the correct answer.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I think there will be more into the details, like
- 4:56Speaker 2: the really minute details, I think. But I think we'll
- 4:59Speaker 2: both be prett into it in our own ways, Like
- 5:01Speaker 2: I'll be curious to see where she did mention wanting
- 5:04Speaker 2: to do a choreographed dance and I had.
- 5:06Speaker 3: To shut that down, come on together, and then I go.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But if you want to do if it feels important
- 5:12Speaker 2: for you to do one by yourself, then I have
- 5:15Speaker 2: I also bort you.
- 5:16Speaker 4: How's she doing by herself?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Got some backup dancers? But no, I think we'll both
- 5:24Speaker 3: be pretty involved way.
- 5:26Speaker 2: She's more organized than like a planner about things. So
- 5:29Speaker 2: if anything, I think she'll have to kind of keep
- 5:31Speaker 2: me on track with like the timing and like make delines.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Oh I hated those.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I know, I know.
- 5:37Speaker 5: I just hated reading the contracts.
- 5:39Speaker 3: That was like, didn't Robbie read the contract? Yeah?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I still had to like look over them and
- 5:45Speaker 1: be like, did you read the contract.
- 5:50Speaker 5: And what do you think about it?
- 5:54Speaker 4: Will you coordinate wedding attire? Of course, it's traditional to
- 5:57Speaker 4: not see the bridal look before the wedding day, but
- 5:59Speaker 4: what if your choice is clash or what if they're identical,
- 6:01Speaker 4: You're gonna have to see each other's looks.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Uh No, We'll probably just have someone who who knows
- 6:07Speaker 2: both of them and can say, like you, you can't
- 6:10Speaker 2: do that too similar. But we have such different style
- 6:13Speaker 2: that I don't see us gravitating towards the same thing.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Tony and Robbie saw each other before their first look. Yes,
- 6:19Speaker 4: where you have a first look, or where you see
- 6:20Speaker 4: each other at the altar for the first time.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I've always been so torn about this because I love
- 6:25Speaker 2: the idea of having the intimate moment together of just
- 6:30Speaker 2: being us seeing each other and.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Like getting to take it in without having an audience watching.
- 6:36Speaker 2: But then there's something about like seeing each other going
- 6:40Speaker 2: down the aisle for the first time and seeing it.
- 6:42Speaker 3: So I don't know, because it was so I got
- 6:44Speaker 3: to watch Altz First Look, which I loved.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Popcorn watching Our First Look, you asked us, No, no,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I liked it. But I also think that the other
- 6:54Speaker 1: pro that nobody really talks about is like, I wasn't
- 6:58Speaker 1: nervous at all leading out to my wedding until like
- 7:01Speaker 1: the half hour before the ceremony, when like you know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: everybody is at cocktail hour and everybody is like there
- 7:07Speaker 1: waiting for you. That's when I got really nervous. And
- 7:09Speaker 1: having Robbie like with me there was like very calming.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, so that will be I I could
- 7:18Speaker 3: see us going either way for that.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:21Speaker 4: If Taylor Swift invited to the wedding, She's always invited
- 7:26Speaker 4: this show right now invitation?
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, who will walk.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Down the aisle first? Or will you walk down together?
- 7:33Speaker 7: Oh?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Good question.
- 7:36Speaker 2: This is interesting because I've I've also seen weddings where
- 7:41Speaker 2: the people the bride and groom are bride and brider
- 7:44Speaker 2: groom and groom walk from each end of the aisle
- 7:47Speaker 2: towards each other, and so they're in the middle of everyone.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Which I think would be really cool.
- 7:52Speaker 2: We might have to come up with something not necessarily
- 7:54Speaker 2: like traditional to see, but we probably both walked down
- 7:57Speaker 2: the aisle like you know how normally the Yeah, Robbie
- 8:01Speaker 2: walked on first. Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Yeah, we did it together and it was very Yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 6: I'll never forget that moment. It was very special.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I love that.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's something to think about.
- 8:16Speaker 4: When my sister married her wife, my sister was in
- 8:19Speaker 4: a more traditional Uh your.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Sister married to a woman.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I never.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Talked about this.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Yeah. When Amy married Emily Amy, my sister was in
- 8:31Speaker 4: more of a vest and tie, where Emily was in
- 8:34Speaker 4: more of a traditional wedding dress. Do you see that
- 8:37Speaker 4: kind of a dynamic or no.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I don't think Hayley wants because I asked.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I was like, would you want to be more in
- 8:41Speaker 2: like a like kind of suit look, and she's like, no,
- 8:43Speaker 2: I think I want to be in a dress.
- 8:45Speaker 3: So I mean, we'll see.
- 8:46Speaker 2: She will probably get someone to design something or something
- 8:49Speaker 2: very unique for her, like a hybrid.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not know that I'll show you some pictures.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Wow, you know his wife's name is the same name.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Yes. Do they get each other's like Venmo transactions random
- 9:07Speaker 4: sixty bucks on Venmo when you off the text mes Thursdays?
- 9:10Speaker 4: This for you? Yeah, I think so anyway, because you
- 9:15Speaker 4: would think there's want amy moments on Venmo. Right. Oh,
- 9:20Speaker 4: well there's the maid of honor conversation. Okay, we had
- 9:24Speaker 4: the big Becker versus Paulina quiz here and that was fun.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Like it will be a similar competition to be your
- 9:29Speaker 4: maid of honor.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I don't think anyone will feel competitive over it.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Minus Tony, I feel no competition. I don't feel but
- 9:38Speaker 3: I was still.
- 9:41Speaker 5: You could do whatever you wanted.
- 9:44Speaker 2: It's giving lies, it's giving trying to convince herself.
- 9:48Speaker 4: She's above the phrase.
- 9:50Speaker 5: First of all, I've already braced myself for this.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I can show you the d MS of people like
- 9:55Speaker 1: in my family who have said, oh, are you going
- 9:57Speaker 1: to be the matron of honor? And I literally respond
- 9:59Speaker 1: and I said, as many sisters. So I'm gonna assume
- 10:03Speaker 1: that I'm not even in the bridal party.
- 10:05Speaker 5: So I've set the bar.
- 10:06Speaker 3: You're in the bridal party.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Well, you have so many. First of all, you have
- 10:09Speaker 1: so many sisters. Hailey has a sister, and then you
- 10:12Speaker 1: have so many best friends. Is very lengthy, and I
- 10:19Speaker 1: don't see you as someone that's gonna have ten bridesmaids,
- 10:22Speaker 1: So the bar for me is very low.
- 10:23Speaker 3: No, no, no, you'll definitely be in the wedding, in
- 10:27Speaker 3: the bridal party.
- 10:27Speaker 2: But I also I was telling Haley that even like
- 10:32Speaker 2: I wasn't I wasn't JoJo's maid of honor, but I
- 10:35Speaker 2: did a lot of the things that a maid of
- 10:38Speaker 2: honor would do, even though like I didn't need the
- 10:40Speaker 2: title to like step up and do the do things
- 10:44Speaker 2: for her, if that makes sense.
- 10:45Speaker 3: And I feel like you'll be that way whether you
- 10:48Speaker 3: have the title or not.
- 10:49Speaker 2: But you're definitely You're You've really so far been a
- 10:53Speaker 2: very helpful If the energy is a little more relaxed
- 10:59Speaker 2: and I'm not stress about like making decisions, yeah, you'd
- 11:04Speaker 2: be an incredible made of honor.
- 11:06Speaker 5: How stressed have I made you the last week?
- 11:08Speaker 3: I mean, you're just always already asking about like wedding
- 11:11Speaker 3: dress shopping and stuff.
- 11:12Speaker 5: Freezy, It's just breezy.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just you just like have the zoomies right now.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. I think I will calm down. You're so right,
- 11:22Speaker 5: I have zoomies.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Yeah, by the time that rolls around, you'll be like
- 11:26Speaker 2: two kids in exhausted.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you're like, I don't I can't take this on.
- 11:34Speaker 5: But really, so you get thoughts.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I feel like I've had to think
- 11:40Speaker 3: about that.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I feel like we've had this question about my hypothetical
- 11:43Speaker 2: made of honor for a very long time. So you're
- 11:47Speaker 2: definitely in the running.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Well, we have to get to some questions about about
- 11:52Speaker 4: engagement photos, about cake, We have to talk about the
- 11:56Speaker 4: wedding first down, so much to talk about when we
- 12:00Speaker 4: come back.
- 12:19Speaker 3: All right, we are.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Okay.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Now this is actually funny because the scrubber asks, did
- 12:26Speaker 4: you know before the previous episodes released The Dear Bonya
- 12:30Speaker 4: on July seventh? So we have to let you in
- 12:32Speaker 4: on a secret on that one julye that episode was
- 12:35Speaker 4: pre recorded before you left, before any of this.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, the fourth of July, I was on my honeymoon.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Beccoes on her trip, so we pre recorded those episodes
- 12:46Speaker 1: before we left.
- 12:47Speaker 4: July seventh, one for sure, because she goes, I could
- 12:49Speaker 4: tell you all were keeping secrets from us. I don't
- 12:51Speaker 4: think we.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Were definitely we're not certainly were not that this is
- 12:55Speaker 3: our baseline. I suppose keeping secret.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Or like giddy for vacation.
- 13:00Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like, like, will you be incorporating a Taylor
- 13:06Speaker 7: Swift song into your wedding for the isle song or
- 13:09Speaker 7: maybe a first dance?
- 13:11Speaker 4: Any thoughts on the songs?
- 13:14Speaker 2: You know, Helen, I have very different music tastes, so
- 13:19Speaker 2: I don't know we'll have to there will be some
- 13:21Speaker 2: compromising not compromising, but more so like searching. She was
- 13:25Speaker 2: even thinking she was posting a video and was like,
- 13:28Speaker 2: we need some songs that we just have, like a
- 13:29Speaker 2: playlist of songs that that remind us of our relationship
- 13:34Speaker 2: or that we're both sure.
- 13:35Speaker 4: You know, compromise is fair. I think I got a
- 13:38Speaker 4: Springsteen song into our wedding, and I was pretty excited
- 13:40Speaker 4: about that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I mean, if I can, I'm hoping Taylor Slips will
- 13:42Speaker 2: have some even new music about falling in love with
- 13:45Speaker 2: Travis Kelcey that I.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Can be there. Yeah, an instrumental version.
- 13:51Speaker 5: I love an instrumental.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Version o the string quartet.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 13:56Speaker 4: Are you doing engagement photos? Whether it be an engagement party?
- 13:59Speaker 4: While I ever stopped crying when I see something about
- 14:01Speaker 4: your engagement. She said, that's very sweet.
- 14:04Speaker 3: That's so sweet.
- 14:06Speaker 2: So it was really thoughtful because Haley had the photographer
- 14:09Speaker 2: there for the proposal photos, and then the next day
- 14:13Speaker 2: we took like kind of engagement photos fresh and then
- 14:16Speaker 2: we're we'll probably do an engagement photo session here in
- 14:18Speaker 2: LA when we're not like sweaty and been the humidity
- 14:23Speaker 2: and maybe have it like styled and you know, makeup
- 14:27Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 14:28Speaker 3: But it's that was really fun.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Haley and I have never taken like professional photos together
- 14:34Speaker 2: outside of a red carpet, so we.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Didn't know how to pose, Like we were having to
- 14:39Speaker 3: look up pines.
- 14:42Speaker 2: How to pose, and especially like when you're trying to
- 14:44Speaker 2: show the ring, you have to put your hand in
- 14:47Speaker 2: really specific ways. And so and our photographer he does
- 14:51Speaker 2: like beautiful photos, but he had never done an engagement shoot.
- 14:54Speaker 3: So we're just like the three Stewes trying to figure
- 14:58Speaker 3: that out. And what was the other question.
- 15:01Speaker 5: About oh engagement party?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Oh, I kind of felt like the dinner was like
- 15:07Speaker 2: an engagement party, but maybe we'll do something.
- 15:10Speaker 5: What I thought the same.
- 15:12Speaker 1: That's why, like when I was talking to Haley about
- 15:15Speaker 1: like doing the flowers and stuff like that. Like I
- 15:17Speaker 1: wanted to even do like the most because I was like, oh,
- 15:20Speaker 1: this is like your engagement party, but I think you'll
- 15:23Speaker 1: have like a proper one, like after you propose, and like, oh.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know what. What's an engagement party?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Like what's different from what we did?
- 15:32Speaker 5: I mean nothing, it's just like more people.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Oh oh so a bigger to do.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, that would make sense that after I proposed
- 15:40Speaker 2: to her.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, we never had one.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Y'all's like our proposal was kind of like our engagement party.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Okay, but not really not an engagement party. What those
- 15:52Speaker 2: things are?
- 15:52Speaker 5: I thought that's what yours was? I thought so, But
- 15:55Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I'm learning a lot. I'm learning a lot.
- 16:00Speaker 1: You could do whatever you want, Like, if you think
- 16:01Speaker 1: about it, you could have an you could have an
- 16:03Speaker 1: engagement party for you. You could have an engagement party for
- 16:05Speaker 1: when you get proposed to Haley. You can have I mean,
- 16:09Speaker 1: you could have what bridal showers or I mean that
- 16:12Speaker 1: it's endless what you can do. Truly, Yes, you just
- 16:16Speaker 1: get I think you just get tired and overwhelmed. Like
- 16:18Speaker 1: that's specifically, No, I think in general, just like as
- 16:21Speaker 1: a bride, like you get like, yeah, there's so many
- 16:23Speaker 1: things that you're like, there's only so many things I
- 16:25Speaker 1: want to plan, you know what I mean?
- 16:26Speaker 2: Exactly, I'm not much of a planner of those types
- 16:30Speaker 2: of things. So we'll see how I think if once
- 16:34Speaker 2: I propose, I'll have the excitement and stamina to like
- 16:38Speaker 2: do something.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Yeah, but I thought this weekend was my engagement.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Or maybe you can tack on and do something after
- 16:45Speaker 1: you propose to Haley kind of like what she did
- 16:47Speaker 1: for you this dinner, but maybe make that a little
- 16:49Speaker 1: bit bigger and then that could be your engagement party.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, do you know what I mean?
- 16:52Speaker 1: So it's like kind of one job, yes, because you're
- 16:56Speaker 1: already put so much effort into the proposal, right, lop
- 17:00Speaker 1: it all in.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Right, you know?
- 17:02Speaker 3: Okay, good to know reaching out I can help you.
- 17:08Speaker 4: And one more and this is a big one. What
- 17:10Speaker 4: flavored cake would you want at your wedding?
- 17:13Speaker 3: Interesting?
- 17:16Speaker 2: Well, Hailey loves coffee cake, like she loves like coffee flavored.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Coffee flavored, not like coffee cake, right, I consider coffee flavored.
- 17:25Speaker 2: So like how she loves the ice cream cake like
- 17:28Speaker 2: a coffee ice cream cake.
- 17:31Speaker 3: It was really hard.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I was trying to get a coffee cake for her birthday,
- 17:33Speaker 2: but we were in the park, so I was like,
- 17:34Speaker 2: ice cream will melt. So I found a mocha flavored
- 17:38Speaker 2: cake and it was delicious.
- 17:40Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Maybe we'll have something hybrid cake like she loves cake,
- 17:46Speaker 2: but not I would see us doing more, maybe like
- 17:50Speaker 2: a cute little ice cream treat.
- 17:52Speaker 3: She loves ice cream. I don't know. We'll probably do
- 17:55Speaker 3: something oted.
- 17:59Speaker 5: And they also want to charge you three thousand dollars
- 18:00Speaker 5: for it. I'm like, yeah, I will just.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Be like, oh, it's a birthday cake too much.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Some of these vendors know too much.
- 18:11Speaker 2: So yeah, that will probably have our own little thing.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Same with the food. You know, she has her allergy,
- 18:16Speaker 2: so yeah, oh don't we all know?
- 18:21Speaker 5: We all, don't we all?
- 18:22Speaker 4: Yeah, here's a question from an overwhelmed scrubber. This looks
- 18:24Speaker 4: like it's for Tanya specifically. I Becatanya Marconiste and my
- 18:27Speaker 4: fiance and now are getting married in September, and we're
- 18:29Speaker 4: writing personal life notes to each of our guests, just
- 18:32Speaker 4: like Tanya did. My question is how did you go
- 18:34Speaker 4: about wording them? We want we want them to be
- 18:37Speaker 4: a message from the both of us, since it's our
- 18:39Speaker 4: wedding day and we are signing them all from the
- 18:41Speaker 4: both of us, but we're struggling with how to phrase them,
- 18:43Speaker 4: what to include for people that really only have memories
- 18:46Speaker 4: for one of us, et cetera. Did you follow a template?
- 18:49Speaker 4: Did you avoid using the word I? Since it's from
- 18:51Speaker 4: both of you? Help please any advice on how to
- 18:53Speaker 4: go about writing all of our notes. We appreciate it.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Signed a scrubber who is very overwhelmed with wedding planning. Lol.
- 18:59Speaker 1: This is so funny because Robbie had the exact same question.
- 19:02Speaker 5: We were doing our card.
- 19:03Speaker 1: He was like, he like sat down to write the
- 19:06Speaker 1: first one and he wrote like I I'm like, babe.
- 19:09Speaker 5: It's from the both of us.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Like, it's not, yes, this is your cousin that you know,
- 19:14Speaker 1: your whole wife and I've known them for five years,
- 19:16Speaker 1: but it's we. So it's like, I think you start
- 19:20Speaker 1: out the car, you start out the card by like obviously,
- 19:23Speaker 1: so we kind of divvied them up. I wrote to
- 19:25Speaker 1: the people that like I was closer to. He wrote
- 19:27Speaker 1: to the people that he was closer to, but they
- 19:29Speaker 1: were both from the both of us. So I would
- 19:32Speaker 1: start off start off with like the memory of, like,
- 19:35Speaker 1: if I'm writing to Mark, do you remember what I
- 19:37Speaker 1: wrote to you?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Uh?
- 19:38Speaker 4: Not off the top of my head, but I remember
- 19:39Speaker 4: the we part of it, right.
- 19:41Speaker 1: So I would talk about I, like, Mark, how important
- 19:44Speaker 1: you've been to me, but also how important and like
- 19:48Speaker 1: like how effortlessly it was when you met Robbie and like,
- 19:53Speaker 1: so it was like a little tiny little snippet of
- 19:56Speaker 1: of the me part, but then quickly bringing in your
- 19:59Speaker 1: significant other when they met you and just being that
- 20:02Speaker 1: support system for the relationship sign it from the two
- 20:08Speaker 1: of you.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Call of to day.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Did y'all have anyone there where? Y'all both didn't know
- 20:14Speaker 3: anyone someone?
- 20:15Speaker 5: Yeah, No, so I don't.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I would say that's a key part too.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Yes, knowing everyone at your wedding is.
- 20:23Speaker 3: A husband, yes, both of you. Correct.
- 20:26Speaker 1: We had two people that hadn't met like uh like
- 20:31Speaker 1: one of the like uh that didn't meet Robbie because
- 20:36Speaker 1: they were more my my friend and they lived far away.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So I still kind of incorporate him somehow. I don't
- 20:41Speaker 1: even I don't remember how I did it, but.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Just like we're so excited that you're here.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah you have to write.
- 20:48Speaker 1: We and like, very briefly, that's that's how we that's
- 20:52Speaker 1: how we approached it because we did because at first
- 20:54Speaker 1: I was like, we can both write to everybody, you know,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and then he quickly was like, no, no, no, it's okay.
- 21:00Speaker 5: I can still too.
- 21:02Speaker 3: My name.
- 21:03Speaker 6: At the end, I was fully expecting to get like
- 21:05Speaker 6: one two Allison and I, you know, like that individual.
- 21:11Speaker 5: He floated that by two.
- 21:12Speaker 1: He was like, I think we should write in couples
- 21:14Speaker 1: and I was like, nice.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah, nice, try and then you already got out of
- 21:19Speaker 2: this one yea one party.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's every individual person. But actually, and after the
- 21:23Speaker 1: fact he was like, you were so right. It was
- 21:25Speaker 1: very special having e for each person. Yeah, it was
- 21:27Speaker 1: just get your right in writing.
- 21:31Speaker 4: He would admit that. Let's see, this is from Natalia.
- 21:37Speaker 4: She's struggling with the secrecy of w l W, High
- 21:40Speaker 4: Scrubbing and fam twenty seven. I have a wl W
- 21:43Speaker 4: story similar to Becca's. Raised at a conservative Christian household,
- 21:46Speaker 4: on navigating love and secrecy. I still have a faith
- 21:49Speaker 4: of my own. I've been in a relationship for almost
- 21:51Speaker 4: two years. While I'm out to my friends and publicly.
- 21:54Speaker 4: My family except for my sister, doesn't know my mom
- 21:58Speaker 4: was where. I've struggled with my identity in the past,
- 22:00Speaker 4: but not about my current relationship. My partner and I
- 22:02Speaker 4: are planning to move from LA to New York City
- 22:04Speaker 4: this fall. Keeping our relationship a secret has been emotionally exhausting,
- 22:07Speaker 4: but I feel deeply responsible for protecting my parents from
- 22:10Speaker 4: the truth, like coming out would hurt them. I haven't
- 22:13Speaker 4: told extended family either, because I don't want to burden
- 22:15Speaker 4: them with Keeping the secret from my parents beca How
- 22:19Speaker 4: did you cope with the secrecy, Tanya, I'd love your
- 22:21Speaker 4: perspective too, being in on the privacy of the relationship
- 22:24Speaker 4: as well. To tell you navigated that as a support system.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Part of me feels I should wait until we're engaged
- 22:29Speaker 4: to come out when it feels more worth it, but
- 22:31Speaker 4: the weight of hiding is causing me intense anxiety. I'm
- 22:34Speaker 4: working on becoming more financially independent and finding a therapist
- 22:37Speaker 4: who specializes in religious trauma and LGBTQ issues. For now,
- 22:41Speaker 4: I plan to tell my parents that I'm moving with
- 22:43Speaker 4: my friend and leave it to that unless they ask
- 22:46Speaker 4: more directly. Thank you, all for sharing your journeys. They've
- 22:49Speaker 4: given me hope that things will eventually be okay. Deep down,
- 22:52Speaker 4: I still have faith that the worst won't be as
- 22:54Speaker 4: bad as I fear. Thank you, Natalia. Ugh.
- 22:57Speaker 2: This feeling is horrible, And I didn't really have to
- 23:02Speaker 2: deal with my family not knowing for too long because
- 23:05Speaker 2: someone told told my parents before I had the chance to.
- 23:10Speaker 2: But in hindsight, I hate how it went down, Like
- 23:13Speaker 2: I wish the person had enough respect for me to
- 23:16Speaker 2: let it.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Be mine to tell.
- 23:18Speaker 2: However, there's a part of me that's grateful that they
- 23:21Speaker 2: told because it just got it like done and out
- 23:23Speaker 2: of the way and let the like processing begin when
- 23:26Speaker 2: it did. And I think that the thing is I
- 23:32Speaker 2: had a turning point years in where I was like, oh,
- 23:37Speaker 2: I'm so worried about other people hurting because of because
- 23:44Speaker 2: of this, And it feels so crazy because you're you're
- 23:47Speaker 2: like apologizing for experiencing like love and happiness and like
- 23:52Speaker 2: falling in love, and it's so it's so crazy to
- 23:55Speaker 2: me that we have to that people have to hide
- 23:59Speaker 2: something that should be so joyful as in the effort
- 24:03Speaker 2: to not hurt someone else. And I think what you're
- 24:06Speaker 2: doing is you're you're hurting yourself by not telling them,
- 24:12Speaker 2: And I think it's it's just really affecting you because
- 24:16Speaker 2: they don't know anything right now. And I think as
- 24:18Speaker 2: soon as you give them the chance to have a
- 24:20Speaker 2: reaction that might be better than you think, or maybe
- 24:23Speaker 2: it will be bad. It starts the process of reparation.
- 24:27Speaker 2: So if if you tell them and it doesn't go well,
- 24:31Speaker 2: repairing is that the right word?
- 24:34Speaker 5: Great word?
- 24:36Speaker 3: It starts the healing process. Tells that thank you, because
- 24:39Speaker 3: if you tell them and they're able to.
- 24:43Speaker 2: React in the way that is honest for them, which
- 24:47Speaker 2: might be hurtful or it might not be as bad
- 24:49Speaker 2: as you think, it gives It starts the process of
- 24:54Speaker 2: you being free and them knowing who you truly are,
- 24:57Speaker 2: because they don't know a huge part of who you are.
- 25:00Speaker 2: And I think that's such a loss for parents, and
- 25:02Speaker 2: sometimes they realize it, sometimes they don't. And I think
- 25:06Speaker 2: for me, I had my sisters who knew, and all
- 25:09Speaker 2: my friends knew and people that I loved, and I
- 25:13Speaker 2: think when my family found out, it was not easy
- 25:17Speaker 2: the whole time, but I had such a strong support
- 25:19Speaker 2: system that I felt very loved and I felt like
- 25:23Speaker 2: it was so worth it to be with Haley. And
- 25:24Speaker 2: I also felt like if I just kept this mine
- 25:29Speaker 2: and made it a secret, then they would never fully
- 25:32Speaker 2: know who I am, and this feels unfair for them
- 25:34Speaker 2: to even have that opportunity, And so if they find
- 25:38Speaker 2: out and they don't like it, that's on them. That
- 25:40Speaker 2: was kind of my mentality, But I feel like reading this,
- 25:43Speaker 2: I feel for you so much, Natalia, and I just
- 25:46Speaker 2: want you to know that life is so beautiful and
- 25:50Speaker 2: short and you only get one of them, and it's
- 25:53Speaker 2: just not worth making yourself small or hiding such an
- 25:58Speaker 2: exciting part of your life life to protect someone else.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I can't speak to the w WLW side of it,
- 26:06Speaker 1: but I have had friends who have hid their relationships
- 26:10Speaker 1: because of xyz, you know, religion, or they'd been with
- 26:16Speaker 1: this person before that broke their heart and they didn't
- 26:18Speaker 1: want to tell their family or friends again that they
- 26:20Speaker 1: were back together with them. And I just feel like
- 26:22Speaker 1: keeping things a secret and dating someone in private is
- 26:26Speaker 1: just like it's so hard on your relationship and it's
- 26:28Speaker 1: really hard on you.
- 26:30Speaker 5: So that would be my advice.
- 26:32Speaker 2: And it's not a bad it's the thing is is
- 26:35Speaker 2: like you're not doing anything bad or wrong, Like you're
- 26:38Speaker 2: you fell in love with someone and you're getting to
- 26:41Speaker 2: experience love, and it's like you're harboring something that is
- 26:49Speaker 2: going to end up.
- 26:51Speaker 3: It eats at you.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Yeah, So I just hope that you let yourself like
- 26:55Speaker 2: go of the guilt of hurting them, because you're not
- 26:59Speaker 2: doing anything to hurt them. How they respond is on them.
- 27:03Speaker 2: And if they want to be in your life, then
- 27:06Speaker 2: they're gonna show up for you in the way that
- 27:08Speaker 2: you need to be showed up for.
- 27:09Speaker 4: They're gonna need time to process it. That might be
- 27:12Speaker 4: a day, a week, a month, a year, years, who knows.
- 27:14Speaker 4: But they've had a certain plan their whole life and
- 27:16Speaker 4: their heads for you. And when you tell them that
- 27:18Speaker 4: that's not your plan, that's gonna take some adjustment. Whether
- 27:21Speaker 4: it and it doesn't have to come in anything but
- 27:23Speaker 4: a place of love, there's gonna be some adjustment to
- 27:25Speaker 4: be had there. I think the sooner you start them
- 27:28Speaker 4: on that journey, the better, Yes, because who knows how
- 27:30Speaker 4: long it's gonna last. Better to get them going on
- 27:32Speaker 4: it now. And I also think wait until you're engaged
- 27:35Speaker 4: is almost a double whammy on your parents because there's
- 27:38Speaker 4: gonna be a part of them that's like, oh, she'll
- 27:41Speaker 4: get over it, it's just a phase or whatever. However,
- 27:43Speaker 4: they need to cope with it. Whether that's true or not,
- 27:45Speaker 4: it's probably not, but they need to do that. That's
- 27:47Speaker 4: their coping mechanism. So taking that mechanism away from them
- 27:51Speaker 4: immediately I think will be very difficult for them. Yeah,
- 27:53Speaker 4: make the journey that much longer.
- 27:55Speaker 2: And also give them the opportunity to potentially be a
- 27:57Speaker 2: part of when you get engaged, Like maybe they'll have
- 28:00Speaker 2: a moment where they've processed it, and so when that
- 28:02Speaker 2: time comes, they're excited to be a part of that,
- 28:04Speaker 2: whereas if you just surprise them with that, they might
- 28:08Speaker 2: just be too much all at once. And there's this
- 28:10Speaker 2: girl who she came from a super religious background and
- 28:14Speaker 2: she's like a TikToker influencer and she did like her.
- 28:18Speaker 2: She cut her parents out because they just they basically said,
- 28:22Speaker 2: we will not support you. She is not allowed in
- 28:24Speaker 2: our home. And so she had to set that boundary
- 28:27Speaker 2: and had like a whole wedding all this stuff, and
- 28:29Speaker 2: her parents weren't there. And then just like last year,
- 28:32Speaker 2: they came around and we're like, we want to be
- 28:33Speaker 2: in your life, you know, And there was a lot
- 28:35Speaker 2: of hurt and conversations that were hard and according to her,
- 28:39Speaker 2: but there is hope, even if it takes a really
- 28:44Speaker 2: long time. But you have to give them the chance.
- 28:46Speaker 4: And they could surprise you.
- 28:48Speaker 3: And they could surprise you. I hope they do.
- 28:51Speaker 4: I hope so too. Maybe they'll love her the same
- 28:54Speaker 4: way you do. Yeah, we should take a break, and
- 28:57Speaker 4: then we have one more. One of the scrubbers kind
- 28:59Speaker 4: of kept track as stuff we've kind of left hanging
- 29:01Speaker 4: out there that shocked.
- 29:05Speaker 2: All right, we'll get to those when we get back.
- 29:25Speaker 2: All right, we are back with one final email.
- 29:29Speaker 4: This is from Alexa. I bet it's hard to be
- 29:32Speaker 4: Alexa these days, don't you think? That's a name that
- 29:34Speaker 4: was really cool for a long long time and then
- 29:36Speaker 4: suddenly it was not so cool to be named Alexa. Anyway,
- 29:40Speaker 4: she says, love the pot. A few things we need
- 29:41Speaker 4: to know about or circle back on. First of all,
- 29:44Speaker 4: we need to taste tests of Becca's breakfast burritos. I
- 29:46Speaker 4: am still thinking about.
- 29:47Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, that would have been fine.
- 29:54Speaker 4: I mean, the pie was delicious, but breakfast burritoso had
- 29:56Speaker 4: been fine too, you know.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I was doing those like every day for a couple
- 30:00Speaker 3: I got burnt out on that spot. But I haven't
- 30:02Speaker 3: made a breakfast bread on a minute.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You burn out way too fast. Yes, I got my
- 30:06Speaker 1: fried eggs going in a couple of months.
- 30:08Speaker 2: That new delicacy that no one's ever experienced.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Let's see, can you do? Can you have someone on
- 30:15Speaker 4: the podcast to do a color theory test on each
- 30:18Speaker 4: of you or do one of the TikTok filters. Color
- 30:21Speaker 4: theory test determines which season of color looks best on
- 30:23Speaker 4: each of you, and we need to know as scrubbers.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I mean, I would be totally down to do it.
- 30:29Speaker 2: It's just like, also, I'm just gonna wear sure, but
- 30:33Speaker 2: I do see sometimes I see photos of me in
- 30:35Speaker 2: certain colors.
- 30:36Speaker 3: I'm like, that is not my color.
- 30:38Speaker 4: I would be interested to find out what my color is.
- 30:40Speaker 4: But I don't know that that's an interesting podcast, right.
- 30:45Speaker 3: It's more of a visual experience.
- 30:48Speaker 2: So maybe we have someone come come in and maybe
- 30:52Speaker 2: one day when we launch a video.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Podcast podcast material.
- 30:58Speaker 5: If I'm being honest, I'm just gonna throw that out there.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Little maybe we'll get them individually and at'll excuse me, a.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Request for the significant others on the pod including Alison
- 31:08Speaker 4: and Amy, and to play a couple of newly wet
- 31:10Speaker 4: game or just a trivia game. And we did that
- 31:12Speaker 4: once upon a time. Yeah, I gotta tell you my
- 31:14Speaker 4: wife has no interest in being uh, having the spotlight
- 31:18Speaker 4: on her. She's just not a person that's ever craved
- 31:20Speaker 4: the spotlight. Does want to be on the radio, doesn't
- 31:23Speaker 4: min be on podcasts, doesn't want to be on video.
- 31:25Speaker 4: She's she's good. If you could pick I think it's
- 31:32Speaker 4: just a random question she has here. If you could
- 31:34Speaker 4: pick just one item or meal for each breakfast, lunch,
- 31:36Speaker 4: and dinner for an entire week, what.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Would it be easy?
- 31:39Speaker 4: I already do this basically.
- 31:42Speaker 5: Oh, she's saying one item per.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Meal, one item only. For example, eggs for breakfast, club
- 31:47Speaker 4: sandwich on wheat for lunch. Oh okay, that's a little different.
- 31:53Speaker 3: And does anyone have this off the top of your head? Yes,
- 31:58Speaker 3: okay for.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And this is just like barring all whatever, just eating
- 32:06Speaker 1: what you want. Breakfast would be three fried eggs with
- 32:11Speaker 1: Celtic sea salt and black pepper on top.
- 32:15Speaker 3: That it's not just an easy, no, it ain't.
- 32:22Speaker 1: For lunch, it would be a cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce
- 32:27Speaker 1: with the side of sweet potato French fries. And for
- 32:31Speaker 1: dinner it would be gluten free, so wet.
- 32:38Speaker 4: So we are keeping in mind dietary restrictions because you're
- 32:41Speaker 4: going gluten free, but we're not keeping in mind like
- 32:43Speaker 4: health restrictions. Is that we're saying here.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Yeah, like I would need a burger every day, but like.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Right right right, like yeah, I hear you.
- 32:52Speaker 5: There we go, that's mine.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Uh sure, I would have a I love a poached
- 32:58Speaker 4: egg records out of a couple of le Mark Post
- 33:03Speaker 4: eggs over toast makes me very happy. I think it's
- 33:05Speaker 4: a childhood thing because my mom used to make those
- 33:07Speaker 4: a lot. For lunch, I would have my wife's panini,
- 33:10Speaker 4: which is the greatest sandwich I've ever had my whole life.
- 33:13Speaker 4: It's really great.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Maybe you should bring those in and.
- 33:18Speaker 4: And for dinner, I love it deep dish pizza man
- 33:21Speaker 4: with the sauce on top. It's almost like a it's
- 33:24Speaker 4: not it's not like not even a pizza. It's so thick.
- 33:26Speaker 4: There's so much going on in there, the pie blayered.
- 33:29Speaker 4: I love it deep di I cannot find good deep
- 33:31Speaker 4: dish pizza out here. It's like a pie it's like
- 33:33Speaker 4: a pizza pie with thick. I would get a Chicago
- 33:36Speaker 4: style deep dish pizza for dinner, so yummy, deep dish
- 33:39Speaker 4: doesn't do it for me. I'm sorry, you're wrong. I
