- 0:00Speaker 1: If you're looking for a side hustle or, heck, more
- 0:03Speaker 1: than a side hustle, this could be a big business.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is a big business.
- 0:05Speaker 3: This could be your full-time job.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:07Speaker 3: People are doing it. Yeah.
- 0:08Speaker 2: You know that we live in a really busy world
- 0:11Speaker 2: when we need to hire somebody to come decorate our
- 0:13Speaker 2: house for Halloween.
- 0:14Speaker 3: I mean, I haven't heard of this. I haven't heard
- 0:16Speaker 3: of Christmas at all.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Christmas. And that's kind of new to me, right? But
- 0:20Speaker 2: there is a woman in Texas who has her own
- 0:23Speaker 2: small business that she started in 2020 to decorate your porch,
- 0:27Speaker 2: your house, for Halloween so you're ready for trick-or-treaters. She
- 0:30Speaker 2: charges up to $ 1, 650 per house to get you all
- 0:37Speaker 2: dolled up for Halloween.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Does she take it down, too?
- 0:40Speaker 2: She does not take it down. And she has been
- 0:42Speaker 2: earning over $ 100, 000 a year.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Decorating porches. Yes. I'm sure they're very cool, too.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I mean, it must look great.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I guess it looks great. She puts out, just for
- 0:53Speaker 2: the record, regular pumpkins. She doesn't do jack-o'-lanterns. She doesn't carve.
- 0:57Speaker 2: None of that.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You know, she just gets you.
- 0:59Speaker 3: What if she does like the hay and all that? Probably.
- 1:02Speaker 3: The spider webs.
- 1:03Speaker 2: And the mums, yeah. You know, the mums, like all
- 1:05Speaker 2: the things that kind of go with it. She said,
- 1:08Speaker 2: you know, she can hire like a team of people
- 1:11Speaker 2: to work with her because she's been doing so many houses.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Would you spend that much money, by the way?
- 1:15Speaker 2: $ 1, 650? For your porch? No. No. No, there's a little
- 1:20Speaker 2: black cat hanging in the window right now. And there's
- 1:23Speaker 2: a little festive doormat and we're done.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Dollar tree, all you need.
- 1:27Speaker 2: That's like, yeah, pretty much. I didn't even get pumpkins.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Like normally I get pumpkins.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I haven't even gotten them yet this year. And I'm like, why?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Because we're going to be flipping pretty soon.
- 1:36Speaker 1: It's funny because for the first time ever, I kind
- 1:39Speaker 1: of entertained the idea of having our lights on our
- 1:42Speaker 1: house done for Christmas.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And it's mainly because somebody kind of reached out to
- 1:46Speaker 1: me unsolicited. It was our lawn company. I didn't know
- 1:49Speaker 1: they did it.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Oh, okay. And they had a picture of our house
- 1:52Speaker 3: on Google Earth.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yeah. And they sent me like an AI version of
- 1:56Speaker 1: what it would look like. And that's what kind of
- 1:57Speaker 1: hooked me in. And they were like, hey, we can
- 2:00Speaker 1: do this. I'm showing Christine right now.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm looking at the picture.
- 2:03Speaker 3: It's really cool.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And it was $ 900. $ 900. They have to get, you know,
- 2:06Speaker 2: because you've got, I'm just in a townhome. You've got
- 2:08Speaker 2: a house house and they have to get up on ladders.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I would say that. That if you can do it,
- 2:13Speaker 2: it's worth it.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It says $ 8.
- 2:14Speaker 2: 90.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I'm reading the whole quote.
- 2:16Speaker 1: $ 8.
- 2:16Speaker 2: 95.
- 2:16Speaker 3: They'll do all the lights. They'll take them down in January.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Oh, they'll take them down, too?
- 2:20Speaker 1: And the takedown is a different fee, though. They didn't
- 2:23Speaker 1: tell me how much that was.
- 2:25Speaker 3: But anyway, it all comes down to the wife. Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 3: And she makes big decisions for us. Yes. So I
- 2:30Speaker 3: ran it by her, and she said no.
- 2:32Speaker 2: No.
- 2:33Speaker 3: And I get it. We could use that money in
- 2:34Speaker 3: other places.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I know, but that means... you're getting up on the ladder.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Are you getting up on the ladder?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Do you do all that? No, we'll just go ahead
- 2:41Speaker 3: and do like.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Our load of the ground, load of the ground, load
- 2:44Speaker 2: of the ground decorations.
- 2:45Speaker 1: What was funny, Christine is, um, when the person called me,
- 2:48Speaker 1: it was actually a lady and she understood when I
- 2:51Speaker 1: told her, she goes, I want to know if you
- 2:52Speaker 1: want to move forward with this quote. Yeah. And I
- 2:54Speaker 1: was like, it looks great. Thank you so much. But
- 2:56Speaker 1: the wife said no. And she went, ah, Never mind.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I got it.
- 3:00Speaker 2: She didn't even bother trying to convince you. She's like, yeah, done.
- 3:04Speaker 3: It's done.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Moving on.
- 3:05Speaker 3: All right. 44363.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You could always chime in on text. And would you
- 3:10Speaker 1: pay $ 1, 600 to have your porch decorated for Halloween? A
- 3:14Speaker 1: little late right now, but it would only be two
- 3:16Speaker 1: weeks worth. Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 3: But interesting if you would do it next year.
