- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter twenty four. For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and will yet choose Israel and set them in their
- 0:07Speaker 1: own land, and the strangers shall be joined with them,
- 0:10Speaker 1: and they shall cleave to the House of Jacob. And
- 0:13Speaker 1: the people shall take them and bring them to their
- 0:16Speaker 1: place Yea, from far unto the ends of the earth.
- 0:19Speaker 1: And they shall return to their lands of promise, and
- 0:22Speaker 1: the House of Israel shall possess them, and the land
- 0:25Speaker 1: of the Lord shall be for servants and handmaids. And
- 0:28Speaker 1: they shall take them captives unto whom they were captives,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and they shall rule over their oppressors. And it shall
- 0:35Speaker 1: come to pass in that day that the Lord shall
- 0:37Speaker 1: give thee rest from thy sorrow and from thy fear,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and from the hard bondage, wherein thou wast may to serve.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And it shall come to pass in that day that
- 0:46Speaker 1: thou shalt take up this provert against the King of Babylon.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And say, how hath the presser ceased, the Golden city ceased?
- 0:55Speaker 1: The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, the
- 0:58Speaker 1: scepters of the rulers. He who smote the people in
- 1:01Speaker 1: wrath with a continual stroke. He that ruled the nations
- 1:04Speaker 1: in anger is persecuted, and none hindereth. The whole world
- 1:09Speaker 1: is at rest and is quiet. They break forth into
- 1:12Speaker 1: singing Yea. The fir trees rejoice at thee, and also
- 1:16Speaker 1: the cedars of Lebanon, saying, since thou art laid down,
- 1:19Speaker 1: no feller is come up against us. Hell from beneath
- 1:23Speaker 1: is moved for thee to meet thee. At thy coming.
- 1:26Speaker 1: It stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the
- 1:28Speaker 1: chief ones of the earth. It hath raised up from
- 1:31Speaker 1: their thrones, all the kings of the nations. All they
- 1:35Speaker 1: shall speak and say unto thee. Art thou also become
- 1:38Speaker 1: weak as we art, Thou become like unto us. Thy
- 1:43Speaker 1: pomp is brought down to the grave. The noise of
- 1:45Speaker 1: thy viles is not heard. The worm is spread under thee,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven?
- 1:53Speaker 1: O Lucifer's Son of the Morning. Art thou cut down
- 1:56Speaker 1: to the ground, which did weaken the nations? For set
- 2:00Speaker 1: in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven. I will
- 2:03Speaker 1: exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will
- 2:06Speaker 1: sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the
- 2:09Speaker 1: sides of the north, I will ascend above the heights
- 2:12Speaker 1: of the clouds. I will be like the most high.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the
- 2:18Speaker 1: sides of the pit. They that see THEE shall narrowly
- 2:22Speaker 1: look upon THEE, and shall consider THEE, and shall say,
- 2:26Speaker 1: is this the man that made the earth to tremble,
- 2:29Speaker 1: that did shake kingdoms, and made the world as a wilderness,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and destroyed the cities thereof, And opened not the house
- 2:36Speaker 1: of his prisoners. All the kings of the nations. Yea,
- 2:40Speaker 1: all of them lie in glory, every one of them
- 2:43Speaker 1: in his own house. But thou art cast out of
- 2:46Speaker 1: thy grave like an abominable branch, and the remnant of
- 2:49Speaker 1: those that are slain, thrust through with a sword that
- 2:52Speaker 1: go down to the stones of the pit, as a
- 2:55Speaker 1: carcass trodden under feet. Thou shalt not be joined with
- 2:59Speaker 1: them in burial. Because thou hast destroyed thy land and
- 3:02Speaker 1: slain thy people. The seed of evil doers shall never
- 3:06Speaker 1: be renowned. Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquities
- 3:10Speaker 1: of their fathers, that they do not rise nor possess
- 3:14Speaker 1: the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities,
- 3:18Speaker 1: For I will rise up against them, Saith, the Lord
- 3:20Speaker 1: of Hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name and remnant,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and son and nephew. Saith the Lord. I will also
- 3:28Speaker 1: make it a possession for the bittern and pools of water,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, Saith,
- 3:34Speaker 1: the Lord of Hosts. The Lord of Hosts hath sworn, saying,
- 3:38Speaker 1: surely as I have thought, so shall it come to
- 3:41Speaker 1: pass as I have proposed. So it shall stand that
- 3:45Speaker 1: I will bring the Assyrian in my land, and upon
- 3:48Speaker 1: my mountains tread him under foot. Then shall his yoke
- 3:51Speaker 1: depart from off them, and his burden depart from off
- 3:54Speaker 1: their shoulders. This is the purpose that is purposed upon
- 3:57Speaker 1: the whole earth, And this is the hand that is
- 4:00Speaker 1: stretched out upon all nations. For the Lord of Hosts
- 4:03Speaker 1: hath proposed. And who shall disannull and his hand is
- 4:07Speaker 1: stretched out, and who shall turn it back? In the
- 4:10Speaker 1: year that King Ahaz died, was this burden? Rejoice not
- 4:14Speaker 1: thou whole Palestine, because the rod of him that smote
- 4:17Speaker 1: thee is broken. For out of the serpent's roots shall
- 4:20Speaker 1: come forth a cockatrice, and his fruits shall be a
- 4:23Speaker 1: fiery flying serpent, and the first born of the poor
- 4:27Speaker 1: shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And I will kill thy route with famine, and he
- 4:32Speaker 1: shall slay thy remnant howl O gate, cry, o city,
- 4:38Speaker 1: Thou whole Palestine art dissolved. For there shall come from
- 4:42Speaker 1: the north o smoke, and none shall be alone in
- 4:44Speaker 1: his appointed times? What shall then answer the messengers of
- 4:49Speaker 1: the nations that the Lord hath founded Zion, and the
- 4:52Speaker 1: poor of his people shall trust in it. Chapter twenty five. Now, I, Nephi,
- 4:58Speaker 1: do speak somewhat concerning the words which I have written,
- 5:02Speaker 1: which have been spoken by the mouth of Isaiah. For behold,
- 5:05Speaker 1: Isaiah spake many things which were hard for many of
- 5:07Speaker 1: my people to understand, for they know not concerning the
- 5:10Speaker 1: manner of prophesying among the Jews. For I, Nephi, I
- 5:14Speaker 1: have not taught them many things concerning the manner of
- 5:17Speaker 1: the Jews, for their works were works of darkness, and
- 5:20Speaker 1: their doings were doings of abominations. Wherefore I write unto
- 5:24Speaker 1: my people all those things that shall receive hereafter these
- 5:27Speaker 1: things which I write, that they may know the judgments
- 5:29Speaker 1: of God, that they may come upon all nations according
- 5:32Speaker 1: to the word which he hath spoken. Wherefore hearken o
- 5:36Speaker 1: my people, which are of the House of Israel, and
- 5:39Speaker 1: give ear unto my words. For because the words of
- 5:41Speaker 1: Isaiah are not plain unto you, Nevertheless, they are plain
- 5:45Speaker 1: unto all those that are filled with the spirit of prophecy.
- 5:48Speaker 1: But I give unto you a prophecy according to the
- 5:50Speaker 1: spirit which is in me. Wherefore I shall prophesy according
- 5:54Speaker 1: to the plainness which hath been with me from the
- 5:56Speaker 1: time that I came out from Jerusalem with my father.
- 6:00Speaker 1: For behold, my soul delighteth in plainness unto my people,
- 6:03Speaker 1: that they may learn. Yea, in my soul delighteth in
- 6:06Speaker 1: the words of Isaiah. For I came out of Jerusalem,
- 6:09Speaker 1: and my eyes hath beheld the things of the Jews.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And I know that the Jews do understand the things
- 6:14Speaker 1: of the prophets. And there is none other people that
- 6:17Speaker 1: understand the things which were spoken unto the Jews like
- 6:20Speaker 1: unto them, Save it be that they are taught after
- 6:23Speaker 1: the manner of the things of the Jews. But behold,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I need if I have not taught my children after
- 6:28Speaker 1: the manner of the Jews. But behold, I of myself
- 6:31Speaker 1: have dwelt at Jerusalem. Wherefore I know concerning the regions
- 6:34Speaker 1: round about. And I have made mention unto my children
- 6:37Speaker 1: concerning the judgments of God, which hath come to pass
- 6:40Speaker 1: among the Jews, unto my children, according to all that
- 6:43Speaker 1: which Isaiah hath spoken. And I do not write them.
- 6:47Speaker 1: But behold, I proceed with mine own prophecy, according to
- 6:50Speaker 1: my plainness, in the which I know that no man
- 6:53Speaker 1: can err. Nevertheless, in the days that the prophecies of
- 6:55Speaker 1: Isaiah shall be fulfilled, men shall know of a surety
- 6:59Speaker 1: at the times when they shall come to pass. Wherefore
- 7:02Speaker 1: they are of worth unto the children of men. And
- 7:05Speaker 1: he that supposeth that they are not unto them, will
- 7:08Speaker 1: I speak particularly and confine the words unto mine own people,
- 7:12Speaker 1: For I know that they shall be of great worth
- 7:14Speaker 1: unto them in the last days, for in that day
- 7:17Speaker 1: shall they understand them. Wherefore for their good have I
- 7:20Speaker 1: written them. And as one generation hath been destroyed among
- 7:24Speaker 1: the Jews because of iniquity, even so have they been
- 7:27Speaker 1: destroyed from generation to generation according to their iniquities. And
- 7:31Speaker 1: never hath any of them been destroyed save it whereforetold
- 7:35Speaker 1: them by the prophets of the Lord. Wherefore it hath
- 7:38Speaker 1: been told them concerning the destruction which should come upon
- 7:41Speaker 1: them immediately after my father left Jerusalem. Nevertheless, they harden
- 7:46Speaker 1: their hearts, and according to my prophecy, they have been destroyed,
- 7:49Speaker 1: save it be those which are carried away captive into Babylon.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And now this I speak because of the Spirit which
- 7:55Speaker 1: is in me. And notwithstanding they have been carried away,
- 7:59Speaker 1: they shall return again and possess the land of Jerusalem.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Wherefore they shall be restored again to the land of
- 8:05Speaker 1: their inheritance. But behold, they shall have wars and rumors
- 8:09Speaker 1: of wars. And when the day cometh that the only
- 8:11Speaker 1: begotten of the Father, Yea, even the Father of heaven
- 8:14Speaker 1: and of Earth, shall manifest himself unto them in the flesh. Behold,
- 8:18Speaker 1: they will reject him because of their iniquities and the
- 8:21Speaker 1: hardness of their hearts and the stiffness of their necks.
- 8:25Speaker 1: For behold, they will crucify him. And after he is
- 8:28Speaker 1: laid in a sepulcher for the space of three days,
- 8:30Speaker 1: he shall rise from the dead with healing in his wings.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And all those who shall believe on his name shall
- 8:36Speaker 1: be saved in the Kingdom of God. Wherefore my soul
- 8:39Speaker 1: delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and my heart doth magnify his holy name. And behold,
- 8:46Speaker 1: it shall come to pass that after the Messiah Hath
- 8:49Speaker 1: risen from the dead and hath manifested himself, unto his people,
- 8:53Speaker 1: unto as many as will believe on his name. Behold,
- 8:55Speaker 1: Jerusalem shall be destroyed again, for woe unto them that
- 8:59Speaker 1: fight against God God and the people of his Church.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Wherefore the Jews shall be scattered among all nations Yea.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And also Babylon shall be destroyed. Wherefore the Jews shall
- 9:09Speaker 1: be scattered by other nations. And after they have been
- 9:12Speaker 1: scattered and the Lord God hath scourged them by other nations,
- 9:16Speaker 1: for the space of many generations Yea, even down from
- 9:19Speaker 1: generation to generation, until they shall be persuaded to believe
- 9:22Speaker 1: in Christ, the Son of God, and the atonement which
- 9:25Speaker 1: is infinite for all mankind. And when that day shall come,
- 9:29Speaker 1: that they shall believe in Christ and worship the Father
- 9:32Speaker 1: in his name with pure hearts and clean hands, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: look not forward any more for another Messiah. Then at
- 9:38Speaker 1: that time, the day will come that it must needs
- 9:41Speaker 1: be expedient that they should believe these things. And the
- 9:45Speaker 1: Lord will set his hand again the second time to
- 9:47Speaker 1: restore his people from their lost and fallen state. Wherefore
- 9:51Speaker 1: he will proceed to do a marvelous work and a
- 9:53Speaker 1: wonder among the children of men. Wherefore he shall bring
- 9:57Speaker 1: forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them
- 10:00Speaker 1: at the last day, For they shall be given them
- 10:02Speaker 1: for a purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah,
- 10:05Speaker 1: who was rejected by them, and unto the convincing of them,
- 10:08Speaker 1: that they need not look forward any more for a
- 10:11Speaker 1: messiah to come, for there should not any come, save
- 10:14Speaker 1: it should be a false messiah, which should deceive the people.
- 10:18Speaker 1: For there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of
- 10:23Speaker 1: the Jews. For according to the words of the prophets,
- 10:27Speaker 1: the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time
- 10:29Speaker 1: that my father left Jerusalem. According to the words of
- 10:32Speaker 1: the prophets, and also the word of the Angel of God,
- 10:35Speaker 1: his names shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And now, my brethren, I have spoken plainly that ye
- 10:42Speaker 1: cannot err. And as the Lord God liveth that brought
- 10:45Speaker 1: Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and gave
- 10:48Speaker 1: unto Moses power that he should heal the nations after
- 10:50Speaker 1: they had been bitten by poisonous serpents, if they would
- 10:53Speaker 1: cast their eyes unto the serpent, which he did raise
- 10:56Speaker 1: up before them, and also gave him power that he
- 10:58Speaker 1: should smite the roc and the water should come forth. Yea, behold,
- 11:02Speaker 1: I say unto you that as these things are true,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and as the Lord God liveth, there is none other
- 11:08Speaker 1: name given under heaven save it be this Jesus Christ,
- 11:12Speaker 1: of which I have spoken, whereby man can be saved.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Wherefore for this cause hath the Lord promised unto me
- 11:18Speaker 1: that these things which I write shall be kept and
- 11:21Speaker 1: preserved and handed down unto my seed from generation to generation,
- 11:25Speaker 1: that the promise may be fulfilled unto Joseph, that his
- 11:28Speaker 1: seeds should never perish as long as the earth should stand.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Wherefore these sings shall go from generation to generation as
- 11:35Speaker 1: long as the earth shall stand, and they shall go
- 11:37Speaker 1: according to the will and pleasure of God. And the
- 11:40Speaker 1: nations who shall possess them shall be judged of them
- 11:43Speaker 1: according to the words which are written. For we labor
- 11:46Speaker 1: diligently to write to persuade our children and also our brethren,
- 11:50Speaker 1: to believe in Christ and to be reconciled to God.
- 11:53Speaker 1: For we know that it is by His grace that
- 11:56Speaker 1: we are saved. After all we can do and notwithstand.
- 12:00Speaker 1: We believe in Christ. We keep the Law of Moses
- 12:03Speaker 1: and look forward with steadfastness unto Christ until the law
- 12:06Speaker 1: shall be fulfilled. For for this end was the law given.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Wherefore the law hath become dead unto us. And we
- 12:14Speaker 1: are made alive in Christ because of our faith. Yet
- 12:16Speaker 1: we keep the law because of the commandments, and we
- 12:19Speaker 1: talk of Christ. We rejoice in Christ. We preach of Christ,
- 12:24Speaker 1: we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies,
- 12:28Speaker 1: that our children may know to what source they may
- 12:30Speaker 1: look for a remission of their sins. Wherefore we speak
- 12:34Speaker 1: concerning the law, that our children may know the deadness
- 12:37Speaker 1: of the law, and they, knowing the deadness of the law,
- 12:40Speaker 1: may look forward unto that life which is in Christ,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and know for what end the law was given, And
- 12:46Speaker 1: after the law is fulfilled in Christ, that they need
- 12:49Speaker 1: not harden their hearts against Him. When the law ought
- 12:51Speaker 1: to be done away. And now behold, my people, ye
- 12:55Speaker 1: are a stiff, naked people. Wherefore I have spoken plainly
- 12:58Speaker 1: unto you that ye cannot miss understand. And the words
- 13:01Speaker 1: which I have spoken shall stand as a testimony against you,
- 13:04Speaker 1: for they are sufficient to teach any man the right way.
- 13:07Speaker 1: For the right way is to believe in Christ and
- 13:10Speaker 1: deny him not. For by denying him, ye also deny
- 13:13Speaker 1: the prophets and the law. And now behold, I say
- 13:17Speaker 1: unto you that the right way is to believe in
- 13:19Speaker 1: Christ and deny him not. And Christ is the Holy
- 13:23Speaker 1: One of Israel. Wherefore ye must bow down before Him
- 13:26Speaker 1: and worship Him with all your might, mind and strength,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and your whole soul. And if ye do this, ye
- 13:32Speaker 1: shall in no eyes be cast out. And inasmuch as
- 13:35Speaker 1: it shall be expedient, ye must keep the performances and
- 13:38Speaker 1: ordinances of God until the law shall be fulfilled, which
- 13:42Speaker 1: is given unto Moses chapter twenty six. And after Christ
- 13:47Speaker 1: shall have risen from the dead, he shall show himself
- 13:50Speaker 1: unto you, my children, and my beloved brethren. And the
- 13:53Speaker 1: words which he shall speak unto you shall be the
- 13:56Speaker 1: law which ye shall do. For behold, I say unto
- 13:59Speaker 1: you that I have beheld that many generations shall pass away,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and there shall be great wars and contentions among my people.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And after them Messiah shall come. There shall be signs
- 14:09Speaker 1: given unto my people of his birth and also of
- 14:11Speaker 1: his death and resurrection. And great and terrible shall that
- 14:15Speaker 1: day be unto the wicked, for they shall perish. And
- 14:18Speaker 1: they shall perish because they cast out the prophets and
- 14:20Speaker 1: the saints, and stone them and slay them. Wherefore the
- 14:24Speaker 1: cry of the blood of the saints shall ascend up
- 14:26Speaker 1: to God from the ground against them. Wherefore, all those
- 14:30Speaker 1: who are proud and that do wickedly, the day that
- 14:33Speaker 1: cometh shall burn them up, Saith the Lord of Hosts,
- 14:35Speaker 1: for they shall be as stubble, And they that kill
- 14:38Speaker 1: the prophets and the Saints, the depths of the earth
- 14:41Speaker 1: shall swallow them up, Saith the Lord of Hosts. And
- 14:44Speaker 1: the mountains shall cover them, and whirlwind shall carry them away,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and buildings shall fall upon them and crush them to
- 14:50Speaker 1: pieces and grind them to powder. And they shall be
- 14:53Speaker 1: visited with thunderings and lightnings, and earthquakes and all manner
- 14:57Speaker 1: of destructions. For the fire of the a anger of
- 15:00Speaker 1: the Lord shall be kindled against them, and they shall
- 15:03Speaker 1: be as stubble, and the day that cometh shall consume them.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Saith the Lord of Hosts, o the pain and the
- 15:09Speaker 1: anguish of my soul for the loss of the slain
- 15:11Speaker 1: of my people. For I ne f I have seen it,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and it well nigh consumeth me before the presence of
- 15:16Speaker 1: the Lord. But I must cry unto my God, thy
- 15:19Speaker 1: ways are just. But behold the righteous that hearken unto
- 15:24Speaker 1: the words of the prophets, and destroy them not, but
- 15:26Speaker 1: look forward unto Christ with steadfastness for the signs which
- 15:30Speaker 1: are given, notwithstanding all persecution. Behold, they are they which
- 15:34Speaker 1: shall not perish. But the Son of Righteousness shall appear
- 15:38Speaker 1: unto them, and he shall heal them, and they shall
- 15:41Speaker 1: have peace with Him, until three generations shall have passed away,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and many of the fourth generations shall have passed away
- 15:47Speaker 1: in righteousness. And when these things have passed away, as speedy,
- 15:51Speaker 1: destruction cometh unto my people. For notwithstanding the pains of
- 15:55Speaker 1: my soul, I have seen it. Wherefore I know that
- 15:58Speaker 1: it shall come to pass, and they they shall sell
- 16:00Speaker 1: themselves for naught. For for the reward of their pride
- 16:03Speaker 1: and their foolishness, they shall reap destruction, for because they
- 16:07Speaker 1: yield unto the devil and choose works of darkness rather
- 16:10Speaker 1: than light. Therefore they must go down to hell. For
- 16:13Speaker 1: the Spirit of the Lord will not always strive with man.
- 16:16Speaker 1: And when the spirit ceaseth to strive with man, then
- 16:19Speaker 1: cometh speedy destruction. And this grieveth my soul. And as
- 16:24Speaker 1: I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews that Jesus
- 16:27Speaker 1: is the very Christ, it must needs be that the
- 16:29Speaker 1: Gententiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the
- 16:33Speaker 1: eternal God, and that He manifesteth himself unto all those
- 16:36Speaker 1: who believe in Him, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yea unto every nation, kindred tongue, and people working mighty miracles,
- 16:44Speaker 1: signs and wonders among the children of men, according to
- 16:47Speaker 1: their faith. But behold, I prophesy unto you concerning the
- 16:51Speaker 1: last days, concerning the days when the Lord God shall
- 16:54Speaker 1: bring these things forth unto the children of men. After
- 16:57Speaker 1: my seed and the seed of my brethren shall have
- 17:00Speaker 1: dwindled in unbelief and shall have been smitten by the
- 17:02Speaker 1: gentiles Yea. After the Lord God shall have camped against
- 17:06Speaker 1: them round about, and shall have laid siege against them
- 17:09Speaker 1: with the mount and raised forts against them. And after
- 17:12Speaker 1: they shall have been brought down low in the dust,
- 17:15Speaker 1: even that they are not yet, the words of the
- 17:17Speaker 1: righteous shall be written, and the prayers of the faithful
- 17:20Speaker 1: shall be heard, And all those who have dwindled in
- 17:23Speaker 1: unbelief shall not be forgotten. For those who shall be
- 17:26Speaker 1: destroyed shall speak unto them out of the ground, and
- 17:29Speaker 1: their speech shall be low, out of the dust, and
- 17:32Speaker 1: their voice shall be as one that hath a familiar spirit.
- 17:35Speaker 1: For the Lord God will give unto him power that
- 17:37Speaker 1: he may whisper concerning them, even as it were, out
- 17:40Speaker 1: of the ground, And their speech shall whisper out of
- 17:42Speaker 1: the dust. For thus saith the Lord God. They shall
- 17:46Speaker 1: write the things which shall be done among them, and
- 17:48Speaker 1: they shall be written and sealed up in a book.
- 17:51Speaker 1: And those who have dwindled in unbelief shall not have them,
- 17:54Speaker 1: for they seek to destroy the things of God. Wherefore,
- 17:59Speaker 1: as those who have been destroyed have been destroyed speedily,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and the multitude of their terrible ones shall be a
- 18:05Speaker 1: chaff that passeth away. Yea, Thus saith the Lord God.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It shall be at an instant suddenly, and it shall
- 18:12Speaker 1: come to pass that those who have dwindled in unbelief
- 18:14Speaker 1: shall be smitten by the hand of the gentiles. And
- 18:17Speaker 1: the gentiles are lifted up in the pride of their eyes,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and have stumbled because of the greatness of their stumbling block,
- 18:23Speaker 1: that they have built up many churches. Nevertheless, they put
- 18:26Speaker 1: down the power of miracles of God and preach up
- 18:29Speaker 1: unto themselves, their own wisdom and their own learning, that
- 18:32Speaker 1: they may get gain and grind upon the face of
- 18:35Speaker 1: the poor. And there are many churches built up which
- 18:38Speaker 1: cause envyings, and strifes and malice. And there are also
- 18:42Speaker 1: secret combinations, even as in times of old, according to
- 18:46Speaker 1: the combinations of the devil. For he is the founder
- 18:48Speaker 1: of all these things, yea, the founder of murder and
- 18:51Speaker 1: works of darkness, yea. And he leadeth them by the
- 18:54Speaker 1: neck with a flaxen cord, until he bindeth them with
- 18:57Speaker 1: his strong cords forever. For behold, my beloved brethren, I
- 19:01Speaker 1: say unto you that the Lord God worketh not in darkness.
- 19:05Speaker 1: He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit
- 19:08Speaker 1: of the world. For he loveth the world, even that
- 19:10Speaker 1: he layeth down his own life, that he may draw
- 19:13Speaker 1: all men unto him. Wherefore he commandeth none that they
- 19:16Speaker 1: shall not partake of his salvation. Behold, doth he cry
- 19:20Speaker 1: unto any, saying depart from me. Behold, I say unto you, nay,
- 19:24Speaker 1: But he saith come unto me all ye ends of
- 19:27Speaker 1: the earth, by milk and honey, without money and without price. Behold,
- 19:32Speaker 1: hath he commanded any that they should depart out of
- 19:34Speaker 1: the synagogues or out of the houses of worship. Behold,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I say unto you, nay. Hath he commanded any that
- 19:41Speaker 1: they should not partake of his salvation. Behold, I say
- 19:44Speaker 1: unto you, nay, But he hath given it free for
- 19:47Speaker 1: all men. And he hath commanded his people that they
- 19:49Speaker 1: should persuade all men to repentance. Behold, hath the Lord
- 19:53Speaker 1: commanded any that they should not partake of his goodness. Behold,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I say unto you, nay, but all men are privileged,
- 20:00Speaker 1: the one like unto the other, and none are forbidden.
- 20:04Speaker 1: He commanded that there shall be no priestcrafts. For Behold,
- 20:07Speaker 1: priestscrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for
- 20:10Speaker 1: a light unto the world, that they may get gain
- 20:13Speaker 1: and praise of the world, but they seek not the
- 20:15Speaker 1: welfare of Zion. Behold, the Lord Hath forbidden this thing.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Wherefore the Lord God hath given a commandment that all
- 20:22Speaker 1: men should have charity, which charity is love. And except
- 20:26Speaker 1: they should have charity, they were nothing. Wherefore, if they
- 20:29Speaker 1: should have charity, they would not suffer the laborer in
- 20:32Speaker 1: Zion to perish. But the laborer in Zion shall labor
- 20:35Speaker 1: for Zion. If they labor for money, they shall perish.
- 20:40Speaker 1: And again the Lord God Hath commanded that men should
- 20:42Speaker 1: not murder, that they should not lie, that they should
- 20:45Speaker 1: not steal, that they should not take the name of
- 20:47Speaker 1: the Lord their god in vain, that they should not envy,
- 20:50Speaker 1: that they should not have malice, that they should not
- 20:53Speaker 1: contend one with another, that they should not commit hortoms,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and that they should do none of these things. For
- 20:59Speaker 1: whoso do with them shall perish. For none of these
- 21:02Speaker 1: iniquities come of the Lord. For he doeth that which
- 21:05Speaker 1: is good among the children of men, and he doeth
- 21:07Speaker 1: nothing save it be plain unto the children of men,
- 21:10Speaker 1: And he inviteth them all to come unto him. And
- 21:12Speaker 1: partake of his goodness, and he denieth none that come
- 21:15Speaker 1: unto Him, black and white, bond and free, male and female.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And he remembereth the heathen, and all are alike unto God,
- 21:24Speaker 1: both jew and Gentile, Chapter twenty seven. But behold in
- 21:31Speaker 1: the last days, or in the days of the Gentiles, yea,
- 21:34Speaker 1: behold all the nations of the Gentiles, and also the Jews,
- 21:38Speaker 1: both those who shall come upon this land and those
- 21:40Speaker 1: who shall be upon other lands, yeave, And upon all
- 21:43Speaker 1: the lands of the earth, behold, they will be drunken
- 21:46Speaker 1: with iniquity and all manner of abominations. And when that
- 21:50Speaker 1: day shall come, that they shall be visited of the
- 21:52Speaker 1: Lord of Hosts with thunder and with earthquake, and with
- 21:55Speaker 1: a great noise, and with storm, and with tempest, and
- 21:58Speaker 1: with the flame of devouring fire. And all the nations
- 22:01Speaker 1: that fight against Zion and that distress Her shall be
- 22:05Speaker 1: as a dream of a night vision. Yea, it shall
- 22:08Speaker 1: be unto them, even as a hungry man which dreameth,
- 22:11Speaker 1: and behold, he eateth, but he awaketh and his soul
- 22:14Speaker 1: is empty, or liken to a thirsty man which dreameth,
- 22:17Speaker 1: and behold he drinketh but he awaketh, and behold, he
- 22:20Speaker 1: is faint, and his soul hath appetite. YEA. Even so
- 22:24Speaker 1: shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight
- 22:27Speaker 1: against Mount Zion. For behold, all ye that doeth iniquity,
- 22:31Speaker 1: stay yourselves and wonder, for ye shall cry out and
- 22:34Speaker 1: cry YEA. Ye shall be drunken, But not with wine,
- 22:38Speaker 1: ye stagger, but nought with strong drink. For behold, the
- 22:42Speaker 1: Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep.
- 22:45Speaker 1: For behold, ye have closed your eyes, and ye have
- 22:48Speaker 1: rejected the prophets, and your rulers and the seers. Hath
- 22:51Speaker 1: He covered because of your iniquity. And it shall come
- 22:54Speaker 1: to pass that the Lord God shall bring forth unto
- 22:57Speaker 1: you the words of a book, and they shall be
- 22:59Speaker 1: the words of them which have slumbered. And behold, the
- 23:02Speaker 1: book shall be sealed, and in the book shall be
- 23:05Speaker 1: a revelation from God from the beginning of the world
- 23:07Speaker 1: to the ending thereof. Wherefore, because of the things which
- 23:11Speaker 1: are sealed up, the things which are sealed up shall
- 23:13Speaker 1: not be delivered in the day of wickedness and abominations
- 23:16Speaker 1: of the people. Wherefore the books shall be kept from them.
- 23:19Speaker 1: But the book shall be delivered unto a man, and
- 23:22Speaker 1: he shall deliver the words of the book, which are
- 23:24Speaker 1: the words of those who have slumbered in the dust.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And he shall deliver these words unto another. But the
- 23:30Speaker 1: words which are sealed he shall not deliver. Neither shall
- 23:33Speaker 1: he deliver the book. For the book shall be sealed
- 23:36Speaker 1: by the power of God. And the revelation which was
- 23:39Speaker 1: sealed shall be kept in the book until the own
- 23:42Speaker 1: due time of the Lord, that they may come forth.
- 23:45Speaker 1: For behold, they reveal all things from the foundation of
- 23:48Speaker 1: the world unto the end thereof. And the day cometh
- 23:51Speaker 1: that the words of the book which were sealed shall
- 23:53Speaker 1: be read upon the housetops, and they shall be read
- 23:56Speaker 1: by the power of Christ. And all things shall be
- 23:59Speaker 1: revealed uns to the children of men, which ever have
- 24:02Speaker 1: been among the children of men, and whichever will be
- 24:04Speaker 1: even unto the end of the earth. Wherefore, at the
- 24:07Speaker 1: day when the book shall be delivered unto the man
- 24:09Speaker 1: of whom I have spoken, the book shall be hid
- 24:12Speaker 1: from the eyes of the world, that the eyes of
- 24:14Speaker 1: none shall behold it, save it be that three witnesses
- 24:17Speaker 1: shall behold it by the power of God besides him,
- 24:21Speaker 1: to whom the books shall be delivered, and they shall
- 24:23Speaker 1: testify to the truth of the book and the things therein.
- 24:27Speaker 1: And there is none other which shall view it, save
- 24:29Speaker 1: it be a few, according to the will of God,
- 24:31Speaker 1: to bear testimony of his word unto the children of men.
- 24:34Speaker 1: For the Lord God hath said that the words of
- 24:36Speaker 1: the faithful should speak as if it were from the dead.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Wherefore the Lord God will proceed to bring forth the
- 24:42Speaker 1: words of the book and the mouth of as many
- 24:44Speaker 1: witnesses as seemeth him good will establish his word. And
- 24:48Speaker 1: woe be unto him that rejecteth the word of God.
- 24:51Speaker 1: But behold, it shall come to pass that the Lord
- 24:53Speaker 1: God shall say, unto him to whom he shall deliver
- 24:56Speaker 1: the book, take these words which are not sealed, and
- 24:59Speaker 1: deliver them to to another, that he may show them
- 25:01Speaker 1: unto the learned, saying read this, I pray thee and
- 25:05Speaker 1: the learned shall say, bring hither the book, and I
- 25:07Speaker 1: will read them. And now, because of the glory of
- 25:11Speaker 1: the world and to get gain, will they say this,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and not for the glory of God. And the man
- 25:16Speaker 1: shall say, I cannot bring the book, for it is sealed.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Then shall the learned say I cannot read it. Wherefore
- 25:24Speaker 1: it shall come to pass that the Lord God will
- 25:26Speaker 1: deliver again the book and the words thereof to him
- 25:28Speaker 1: that is not learned, and the man that is not
- 25:30Speaker 1: learned shall say, I am not learned. Then shall the
- 25:34Speaker 1: Lord God say unto him. The learned shall not read them,
- 25:37Speaker 1: for they have rejected them. And I am unable to
- 25:39Speaker 1: do mine own work. Wherefore thou shalt read the words
- 25:42Speaker 1: which I shall give unto THEE. Touch not the things
- 25:45Speaker 1: which are sealed, for I will bring them forth in
- 25:48Speaker 1: mine own due time. For I will show unto the
- 25:50Speaker 1: children of men that I am able to do mine
- 25:52Speaker 1: own work. Wherefore, when thou hast read the words which
- 25:55Speaker 1: I have commanded THEE and obtained the witnesses which I
- 25:58Speaker 1: have promised unto THEE, then shalt thou sill up the
- 26:01Speaker 1: book again and hide it up unto me, that I
- 26:04Speaker 1: may preserve the words which thou hast not read, until
- 26:07Speaker 1: I shall see fit in mine own wisdom to reveal
- 26:09Speaker 1: all things unto the children of men. For behold, I
- 26:13Speaker 1: am God, and I am a God of miracles, and
- 26:16Speaker 1: I will show unto the world that I am the
- 26:18Speaker 1: same yesterday to day and forever, and I work not
- 26:21Speaker 1: among the children of men, save it be according to
- 26:23Speaker 1: their faith. And again it shall come to pass that
- 26:26Speaker 1: the Lord shall say unto him that shall read the
- 26:28Speaker 1: words that shall be delivered him. Forasmuch as this people
- 26:32Speaker 1: draw near unto me with their mouth and with their
- 26:34Speaker 1: lips do honor me, but have removed their hearts far
- 26:37Speaker 1: from me, and their fear towards me is taught by
- 26:40Speaker 1: the precepts of men. Therefore I will proceed to do
- 26:43Speaker 1: a marvelous work among this people. Yea, a marvelous work
- 26:46Speaker 1: and a wonder for the wisdom of their wise and
- 26:49Speaker 1: learned shall perish, and the understanding of their prudence shall
- 26:52Speaker 1: be hid. And woe unto them that seek deep to
- 26:55Speaker 1: hide their counsel from the Lord. And their works are
- 26:58Speaker 1: in the dark. And they say, who seeth us? And
- 27:01Speaker 1: who knoweth us? And they also say, surely your turning
- 27:05Speaker 1: of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay.
- 27:08Speaker 1: But behold, I will show unto them, saith the Lord
- 27:11Speaker 1: of Hosts, that I know all their works. For shall
- 27:14Speaker 1: the work say of him that made it he made me? Not?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it,
- 27:21Speaker 1: he had no understanding. But behold saith the Lord of Hosts.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I will show unto the children of men that it
- 27:28Speaker 1: is yet a very little while, And Lebanon shall be
- 27:30Speaker 1: turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall
- 27:33Speaker 1: be esteemed as a forest. And in that day shall
- 27:36Speaker 1: the deaf hear the words of the book, and the
- 27:39Speaker 1: eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and
- 27:41Speaker 1: out of darkness. And the meek shall also increase, and
- 27:45Speaker 1: their joy shall be in the Lord, and the poor
- 27:47Speaker 1: among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
- 27:50Speaker 1: For assuredly as the Lord liveth, they shall see that
- 27:53Speaker 1: the terrible One is brought to naught, and the scorner
- 27:56Speaker 1: is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off,
- 28:00Speaker 1: And they that make a man an offender for a word,
- 28:02Speaker 1: and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate,
- 28:05Speaker 1: and turn aside the just for a thing of naught. Therefore,
- 28:08Speaker 1: thus saith the Lord who redeemed Abraham concerning the house
- 28:12Speaker 1: of Jacob. Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall
- 28:16Speaker 1: his face now wax pale. But when he seeth his
- 28:19Speaker 1: children the work of my hands in the midst of them,
- 28:23Speaker 1: shall they sanctify my name and sanctify the Holy One
- 28:26Speaker 1: of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. They
- 28:29Speaker 1: also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and
- 28:33Speaker 1: they that murmured shall learn doctrine. End of Second Nephive,
- 28:39Speaker 1: Chapters twenty four through twenty seven,
