- 1:05Speaker 2: the greatest thing since Lou mal Nadis Chicago Style Pizza.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Muma Jong metas from the Chicago area, and when we
- 1:14Speaker 2: recorded our fun Facts interview this week, I asked him
- 1:17Speaker 2: where I should eat during our stay in the Windy City.
- 1:21Speaker 2: His answer Lou Malnatis. It's Chicago's best known deep dish
- 1:26Speaker 2: pizza franchise, and it did not disappoint. It's pizza that
- 1:30Speaker 2: requires a knife and fork to eat it, featuring gooey mozzarella, cheese,
- 1:35Speaker 2: chunky tomato, sauce, and lean sausage all on a flaky,
- 1:40Speaker 2: buttery crust. I could happily live on the crust. I'm
- 1:45Speaker 2: sure there are locals that consider it to be touristy,
- 1:48Speaker 2: but if you're visiting Chicago and want to try authentic
- 1:51Speaker 2: Chicago style pizza, then do what I did and listen
- 1:55Speaker 2: to Muma Jong Meta. Lou Malnadis was a deep dish delight.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Now let's get to football. In the radio replays from
- 2:04Speaker 2: Saturday's loss to the Bears Week two of the preseason,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and we are in downtown Chicago where today the Bengals
- 2:13Speaker 2: starters will take the day off and the backups will
- 2:17Speaker 2: look to shore up roster spots. Improved they are ready
- 2:20Speaker 2: when needed as the Bengals take on the Chicago Bears,
- 2:24Speaker 2: and it is time for the pig skin to fly.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Here at Soldier Field, second down and five Bengals at
- 2:31Speaker 2: the twenty two of Chicago Sdrick Jackson motions out to
- 2:34Speaker 2: the left woodside, waits for the shotgun snap.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He has the ball.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It's a Blitz gets rid of it as he's hit
- 2:40Speaker 2: and it's intercepted as the ball fluttered right into the
- 2:44Speaker 2: hands of a Chicago linebacker who picked it off and
- 2:48Speaker 2: ran it out to the twenty six yard line, intercepted
- 2:52Speaker 2: by amon Ogbon Bamega. After the big hit on the
- 2:57Speaker 2: Blitz on loganwood Side.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Eric Washington, I'm pressuring. I don't think they can pick
- 3:02Speaker 3: it up. He brought more one more they could than
- 3:05Speaker 3: they could block.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Turnover big one third down in goal from the seven.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Caleb Williams back to throw again, looking scrambling, gets away
- 3:13Speaker 2: from a sack, spins around, rolling left, pointing toward the
- 3:17Speaker 2: end zone. Now he takes off and runs and jumps
- 3:21Speaker 2: into the end zone for a Chicago touchdown.
- 3:24Speaker 3: For what he did when he created when he spun
- 3:27Speaker 3: away and made the opportunity for himself to get outside.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Two Bengals defensive linemen fell to the ground so you
- 3:34Speaker 3: can't pursue anybody when you're on the ground.
- 3:36Speaker 2: This will be a fifty four yard try from the right.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Hash Rico, the rookie punter, puts the ball down. The
- 3:43Speaker 2: kick is on its way and has plenty of distance,
- 3:46Speaker 2: and it is good and the Bengals in the half
- 3:50Speaker 2: with three points. As the clock hits zero on a
- 3:53Speaker 2: fifty four yard field goal by Evan McK pherson, Traveon
- 3:59Speaker 2: Williams checks back in a running back, first time we've
- 4:01Speaker 2: seen him on the field in a while. Here comes
- 4:03Speaker 2: another blitz. A pass is intercepted and streaking down field
- 4:08Speaker 2: before being knocked out of bounds by Treveon Williams. Was
- 4:12Speaker 2: Terrell smith second pick of the day for the Chicago Bears,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and he goes out of bounds in Bengals territory around
- 4:20Speaker 2: the forty two yard line. Third and goal from the four.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Dante Pettis motions from left to right and lines up
- 4:26Speaker 2: in the slot. Pagent surveys the Bengals defense. He drops
- 4:30Speaker 2: back to throw, Beagent floats it into the end zone
- 4:33Speaker 2: and it's caught by Pettis for the touchdown. Josh Newton
- 4:38Speaker 2: the nearest defender, but Dante Pettis, an NFL veteran with
- 4:43Speaker 2: seventy one regular season catches, got opened in the back
- 4:46Speaker 2: right corner and caught the TV shotgun snap pagent to throw.
- 4:50Speaker 2: He lofts it toward the end zone, wow, and it
- 4:53Speaker 2: is caught by Pettis, who takes it in near the
- 4:57Speaker 2: forward right pylon for Chicago Touchdow Bombardi waiting for a
- 5:01Speaker 2: shotgun snap. Three receivers out to the right, one out
- 5:04Speaker 2: to the left. Rocky leaps to catch the shotgun snap,
- 5:07Speaker 2: try to run with the ball, loses the ball, and
- 5:11Speaker 2: the Bears say they have it at the fifty and
- 5:13Speaker 2: they do. Rippin takes a knee and that will be
- 5:16Speaker 2: the final snap of this game. The Chicago Bears the
- 5:20Speaker 2: first NFL team to three wins this preseason. They are
- 5:24Speaker 2: three and ozero, and they won the last two by
- 5:27Speaker 2: dominant margins. They beat the Bills in Buffalo thirty three
- 5:30Speaker 2: to six. They beat the Bengals in Chicago today twenty
- 5:34Speaker 2: seven to three, and the rain has returned here at
- 5:38Speaker 2: Soldier Field. There obviously weren't many Bengals highlights in those
- 5:43Speaker 2: radio calls, but the game wasn't all bad for starters.
- 5:46Speaker 2: The Bengals second string defense completely shut down the Bears
- 5:50Speaker 2: starting offense, led by number one overall draft pick Caleb Williams.
- 5:54Speaker 2: In the first quarter. Chicago's first three drives were three
- 5:58Speaker 2: and out, but three yard pass interference call on Bengals
- 6:02Speaker 2: rookie Josh Newton early in the second quarter led to
- 6:05Speaker 2: a Bear's field goal, and Chicago took advantage of penalties
- 6:08Speaker 2: and turnovers for the rest of the day. The Bears
- 6:11Speaker 2: won the turnover battle three zip and scored after all
- 6:15Speaker 2: three of those takeaways, and Cincinnati committed eleven penalties for
- 6:19Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty three yards. Chicago committed four for
- 6:23Speaker 2: thirty eight. The Bengals running game wasn't great, but it
- 6:27Speaker 2: was better, as they rushed for eighty two yards on
- 6:30Speaker 2: twenty five carries. John Metta was the leading tackler for
- 6:34Speaker 2: the second game in a row with seven and Chris
- 6:36Speaker 2: Jenkins had his first preseason sack, and Jermaine Burton was
- 6:40Speaker 2: used extensively as return specialist. His first punt return went
- 6:45Speaker 2: for twenty three yards but got wiped out by a
- 6:48Speaker 2: face mass penalty. Both of his kick returns went for
- 6:52Speaker 2: twenty nine. Now let's hear what head coach Zach Taylor
- 6:55Speaker 2: had to say, as he spent a few minutes with
- 6:57Speaker 2: Dave Lapham after the game.
- 7:00Speaker 4: So you don't have to be a football physicist or whatever.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Three turnovers, three giveaways, no takeaways, eleven penalties for hundred
- 7:08Speaker 4: and twenty three yards.
- 7:09Speaker 5: That adds up to a tough day.
- 7:11Speaker 6: Yeah, it overshadowed some positive things. But this is football
- 7:13Speaker 6: and we got to learn from it as a team.
- 7:15Speaker 6: And that's what twenty three looks like. When you get
- 7:17Speaker 6: dominated penalties, dominating field position, dominating turnovers, hasting to do it.
- 7:21Speaker 6: Talent has undo it scheme. It's just a mindset and
- 7:25Speaker 6: an awareness level that we didn't have today. And I
- 7:27Speaker 6: was disappointed, particularly in the second half.
- 7:29Speaker 4: The first three three possessions your number two's as such,
- 7:34Speaker 4: going against their number ones. Three straight three and outs,
- 7:37Speaker 4: I mean no first downs. I mean the game started
- 7:39Speaker 4: off pretty well on that side of the football, a.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Lot of positives, I mean three thrad's for the announced defense,
- 7:43Speaker 6: the offense moved the ball, got into scoring range, and
- 7:46Speaker 6: we just blitz pick up a turnover. Those things bid
- 7:50Speaker 6: us there, and really we should have been in a
- 7:52Speaker 6: much better situation with the lead, playing with the lead
- 7:54Speaker 6: and all the things that comes with that.
- 7:56Speaker 4: They were very aggressive in how they were blitz and
- 7:59Speaker 4: they were bringing people from the back end. They were
- 8:01Speaker 4: they were pretty aggressive. I mean, was it anything that
- 8:04Speaker 4: was unexpected prepared for all of that.
- 8:06Speaker 6: It was as simple as it gets, and we didn't
- 8:08Speaker 6: do a good job handling it, and that was disappointing.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Good on them.
- 8:10Speaker 6: They just kept repeating the same nickel pressure over and
- 8:12Speaker 6: over because we kept proving we weren't going to pick
- 8:14Speaker 6: it up. And uh, that's that's that's on the communication
- 8:18Speaker 6: up front the quarterback, and we got to do much
- 8:19Speaker 6: better job there.
- 8:20Speaker 4: How did your your young bucket at center performed? Lee
- 8:24Speaker 4: took every snap basically in the game, didn't he he did?
- 8:26Speaker 6: Yeah, well we'll see, you know, we'll be able to
- 8:27Speaker 6: watch tape and have a better evaluation.
- 8:29Speaker 4: How about Jenkins, he came up with a sack. He
- 8:32Speaker 4: looked like he was holding his own in there, going
- 8:35Speaker 4: against the number ones.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I mean that was encouraging as well.
- 8:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean he was part of a front that
- 8:39Speaker 6: really held into four yards rushing through those first three drives.
- 8:41Speaker 6: I had the reverse that got out on us, But
- 8:44Speaker 6: I thought that there were some positive things from him
- 8:46Speaker 6: and the rest of that defense.
- 8:47Speaker 5: What about returning kicks?
- 8:50Speaker 6: Bert, Yeah, you got to use these preseason games to
- 8:52Speaker 6: evaluate all your guys and in different places to play
- 8:54Speaker 6: him and see how they can help the team. And
- 8:56Speaker 6: so we just wanted to get in their evaluation in
- 8:58Speaker 6: the return game with him on some things.
- 9:00Speaker 4: So any injuries to speak up, did you get out
- 9:02Speaker 4: of it fairly clean? After what took place during the
- 9:05Speaker 4: joint practice.
- 9:05Speaker 6: We'll see there's a couple of things that we're gonna
- 9:07Speaker 6: have to manage, you know, And so we'll get a
- 9:08Speaker 6: better feel for that tonight and tomorrow morning and have
- 9:10Speaker 6: more word on that tomorrow probably.
- 9:12Speaker 4: And then you've got practice on Monday. I'm sure that
- 9:15Speaker 4: won't be a grinder as such, because you got you
- 9:17Speaker 4: got a big joint practice again on Tuesday, don't you.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right.
- 9:20Speaker 6: We got still an opportunity on Monday to get better
- 9:22Speaker 6: and improve on some things and then really ramp up
- 9:25Speaker 6: for Tuesday against the Coals.
- 9:26Speaker 5: To be a funday coach. I appreciate your time as always.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You got it.
- 9:30Speaker 2: The bengals only points came on Evan McPherson's fifty four
- 9:33Speaker 2: yard field goal with rookie punter Ryan Rico doing the
- 9:36Speaker 2: holding on the final play of the first half. Last week,
- 9:41Speaker 2: Money Mack missed a fifty eight yard try to end
- 9:44Speaker 2: the half.
- 9:45Speaker 5: It was good to get that one to go through.
- 9:47Speaker 7: I get the confidence roll a little bit, get the
- 9:49Speaker 7: first one under our belt. It's good for Ryan to
- 9:51Speaker 7: get out there too in those situations. It's funny how
- 9:54Speaker 7: I played out similarly to last week, but I'm glad
- 9:58Speaker 7: that this time we were able to execute what was
- 10:01Speaker 7: the field like. This field has always been kind of
- 10:07Speaker 7: weird every time that I've been here. They laid the
- 10:10Speaker 7: SOD I think on Thursday, so it seems everywhere had
- 10:13Speaker 7: to make sure you don't plan on it because it
- 10:15Speaker 7: was shifting. I'm good buddies with their kicker, Cairo, and
- 10:19Speaker 7: I was watching him warm up and he planted right
- 10:22Speaker 7: next to a seam and so I'd kind of flap
- 10:25Speaker 7: up and down. So I was really just making sure
- 10:28Speaker 7: that I was planning in the middle of those sawd You.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Haven't signed a contract extension. We understand it's really not
- 10:35Speaker 2: a topic yet until you do, but clearly the organization
- 10:40Speaker 2: is excited about the opportunity to extend this in the
- 10:43Speaker 2: near future.
- 10:44Speaker 8: Yeah, for sure, and I'm excited about it.
- 10:47Speaker 7: We'll see whenever I sign it, we'll get a press
- 10:50Speaker 7: converage together, get to talk about.
- 10:51Speaker 8: It a little more.
- 10:52Speaker 7: But no, I'm excited, and I'm grateful for the Brown
- 10:55Speaker 7: family and everybody that worked on this steal. It really
- 10:58Speaker 7: means a lot that they showed how much they value me,
- 11:03Speaker 7: and it just gives me some confidence to go into
- 11:05Speaker 7: the season just knowing that this is where we're going
- 11:09Speaker 7: to be for the next couple of years. So, you know,
- 11:11Speaker 7: I'm excited.
- 11:12Speaker 2: It's reportedly a three year contract extension for sixteen point
- 11:16Speaker 2: five million bucks, and it's expected to be signed before
- 11:19Speaker 2: the Bengals return to practice on Monday. Now time for
- 11:23Speaker 2: the radio guys recap map. I think going into this game,
- 11:27Speaker 2: we thought, all right, it might not go all that well.
- 11:30Speaker 2: The Bears are going to play starters, the Bengals are not.
- 11:34Speaker 2: In the first quarter, the Bengals second string defense did
- 11:37Speaker 2: a phenomenal job against Caleb Williams and a really talented
- 11:41Speaker 2: Bears offense. To me, that's the best thing that happened
- 11:44Speaker 2: in this game.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Agreed three straight three and outs. I thought they really
- 11:49Speaker 4: showed very very well. I mean, they had Caleb Williams
- 11:53Speaker 4: on his heels, you know, and then as the game progressed,
- 11:56Speaker 4: he started making plays and started building his confidence. He
- 12:00Speaker 4: was on stoes, he was he was playing pretty well.
- 12:03Speaker 4: But I agree with you. I thought, in the early
- 12:04Speaker 4: stage of the football game, the number two is more
- 12:06Speaker 4: than held their own against the Chicago Bears defense.
- 12:09Speaker 5: He has a lot of talent.
- 12:10Speaker 4: I mean, they got a really good quarterback, three wide
- 12:13Speaker 4: receivers that are threats, tight end, running back. I mean
- 12:16Speaker 4: they're they're pretty darn good. And uh for three possessions,
- 12:20Speaker 4: no first outs, three three and outs, I think they
- 12:23Speaker 4: only had four yards total on their first three possessions,
- 12:26Speaker 4: something crazy like that. So it shows what these guys
- 12:29Speaker 4: are capable of. And I thought, you know, guys like
- 12:31Speaker 4: Chris Jenkins gets his first NFL sack, he was a disruptive.
- 12:35Speaker 4: I thought he was a good a good force inside.
- 12:38Speaker 4: On the other side of the football, I thought Matt
- 12:40Speaker 4: Lee did the yeomen's work, you know, in the offensive line,
- 12:42Speaker 4: took every snap in the in the football game, and
- 12:46Speaker 4: I think he probably won a heck of a lot
- 12:48Speaker 4: more than he than he didn't.
- 12:49Speaker 5: And there's always going to.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Be plays that you want to have back I don't
- 12:53Speaker 4: care what position you play, and I don't care what
- 12:55Speaker 4: level of football you play. So I think those two
- 12:58Speaker 4: young guys probably took advantage of opportunities pretty darn well.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Josh Newton's had an excellent camp, but he's a rookie.
- 13:07Speaker 2: They're going to be ups and downs, and he had
- 13:09Speaker 2: some downs in this game. A very costly pass interference
- 13:13Speaker 2: penalty gave up one of the touchdown passes. So there
- 13:16Speaker 2: were some learning moments, to put it nicely, for Josh
- 13:19Speaker 2: in this game.
- 13:20Speaker 4: There were And here's the real true test of a rookie.
- 13:24Speaker 4: How's he gonna respond. There's no way this kid's going
- 13:27Speaker 4: in the tank. He's got too much you know, going
- 13:29Speaker 4: for him, intelligence, competitiveness, desire.
- 13:34Speaker 5: He'll learn.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Like you said, there's lessons to be learned, and he'll
- 13:37Speaker 4: learn them and he won't make the same mistake twice.
- 13:40Speaker 4: And we'll come back against the Colts and probably you know,
- 13:43Speaker 4: make plays. And that's the sign of if you've got
- 13:46Speaker 4: a football player that can last in the National Football League,
- 13:49Speaker 4: going against the best of the best, you know, every
- 13:52Speaker 4: single week and every single day in practice. I mean,
- 13:55Speaker 4: they're going to be moments where, man, what the heck
- 13:58Speaker 4: was wrong today. I couldn't do anything right, and then
- 14:02Speaker 4: there are going to be moments that you know, it's like, man,
- 14:04Speaker 4: I can't make a mistake out here. Everything I'm doing,
- 14:06Speaker 4: I'm guessing right, I'm playing well. It's like it's crazy
- 14:09Speaker 4: how it'll how it'll go. But the guys that you know,
- 14:13Speaker 4: compartmentalize both of it. Don't don't assume that the great
- 14:16Speaker 4: days are going to be strung together a bunch, and
- 14:19Speaker 4: don't assume that, you know, make sure the bad days
- 14:21Speaker 4: don't reoccur. And those are the guys that kind of
- 14:24Speaker 4: make it for a while.
- 14:26Speaker 5: The Bengals have issues at offensive tackle.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Marius Mimms out for several weeks with a strained pectoral,
- 14:32Speaker 2: Deontae Smith out for the rest of the year with
- 14:34Speaker 2: a knee injury. Orlando Brown Junior and Trent Brown did
- 14:37Speaker 2: not start in this game. So the starting offensive tackles
- 14:40Speaker 2: were guys that they really project to be guards, and
- 14:44Speaker 2: as you might expect, the Bears were able to capitalize
- 14:47Speaker 2: on that.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought, I thought Kirkland had a pretty solid day.
- 14:52Speaker 4: I remember Ford getting bull rushed once and you know,
- 14:54Speaker 4: there was some some situation there. Like I said, though
- 14:57Speaker 4: it's like, you know, you play sixty snaps, which the
- 15:00Speaker 4: offense did, there's going to be a handful that you're
- 15:02Speaker 4: not proud of. You just hope that they're not catastrophes,
- 15:05Speaker 4: they're not tragedies. So yeah, it was it was. It
- 15:08Speaker 4: was makeshift in the offensive line.
- 15:10Speaker 8: For sure.
- 15:11Speaker 5: You got a rookie rookie center.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Gillam played a left guard left guard spot, and you
- 15:17Speaker 4: know Ford was out there at at right tackle and
- 15:20Speaker 4: Hill was at the right guard position. So you had
- 15:23Speaker 4: a lot of guys, you know, playing spots that they
- 15:25Speaker 4: don't normally take a lot of reps out, which is
- 15:28Speaker 4: a good test because you know, if you're not quote
- 15:31Speaker 4: starting offensive lineman, you have to play multiple, you know,
- 15:35Speaker 4: minimum of two positions, and you have to play if
- 15:39Speaker 4: you can play garden tackle, you have to work to
- 15:41Speaker 4: be able to play garden tackle on both sides of
- 15:43Speaker 4: a line of scrimmage. If you can play center, you
- 15:45Speaker 4: got to make sure you can play center and both guards,
- 15:47Speaker 4: you know, and so you have to give some position
- 15:50Speaker 4: versatility to the coaching staff for you to be a
- 15:53Speaker 4: candidate to be one of the you know, nine guys
- 15:56Speaker 4: that make the final roster or ten or whatever it
- 15:58Speaker 4: may be.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Played their starting quarterback, the first pick in the draft,
- 16:02Speaker 2: Caleb Williams. For a half, the Bengals starting quarterback was
- 16:04Speaker 2: their number three QB, Logan Woodside.
- 16:07Speaker 5: How do you think he did?
- 16:09Speaker 4: I think, you know, there were some ups and downs
- 16:13Speaker 4: to his players. Well, the thing I like about him
- 16:16Speaker 4: is man I mentioned it during the game. I saw
- 16:19Speaker 4: him at various spots in the hotel, whether it be
- 16:22Speaker 4: in a meeting room all by himself or the cafeteria
- 16:24Speaker 4: all by himself, whatever, just putting an extra time, I mean, grinding,
- 16:27Speaker 4: you know, making sure that he was going to take
- 16:30Speaker 4: full advantage of this opportunity. I thought he played really
- 16:32Speaker 4: well in the first preseason game. I thought he was stellar.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Really he played a heck of a football game. I'm
- 16:38Speaker 4: sure there's a lot of things that he'd like to
- 16:40Speaker 4: have back, you know, in this football game, the opportunities
- 16:43Speaker 4: didn't quite present themselves, you know, as much as they
- 16:46Speaker 4: did in the first matchup that he had. But he's
- 16:50Speaker 4: a pro. He's a pros pro. I mean he's going
- 16:52Speaker 4: to go about it the exact same way. He'll study
- 16:55Speaker 4: the tape the same way that he did. He'll attack
- 16:57Speaker 4: the playbook the same way that he did and get
- 16:59Speaker 4: ready to have a you know, a better performance against
- 17:03Speaker 4: the Indianapolis Colts and the joint practices in the game.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Assuming that Jake Browning's injury isn't too serious and we
- 17:09Speaker 2: don't think it is, your number three quarterback can be
- 17:11Speaker 2: one of two things. A developmental guy somebody had drafted
- 17:15Speaker 2: maybe try to you know, develop into being a backup someday.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Or it can be a veteran guy that you trust
- 17:22Speaker 2: if something were to happen, you know, you've got a
- 17:24Speaker 2: guy waiting in the wings. It feels to me like
- 17:26Speaker 2: Logan Woodside fits that second description pretty well.
- 17:29Speaker 5: I couldn't agree with you more.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think I think that it's it's
- 17:33Speaker 4: like he's been around long enough where you kind of
- 17:35Speaker 4: know what you have, you know, from a developmental standpoint.
- 17:39Speaker 5: But you like it for the reasons that you're talking about.
- 17:43Speaker 4: If you know, if all hell breaks loose and you
- 17:46Speaker 4: know you're a you're put in a situation that you
- 17:48Speaker 4: never thought you'd be in a million years. You can
- 17:50Speaker 4: have a guy that has been under fire, has been
- 17:54Speaker 4: exposed to it at the at the NFL level, and
- 17:58Speaker 4: as mature and you know can handle everything, the good,
- 18:02Speaker 4: the bad, and the ugly. That's invaluable deposition, no question
- 18:05Speaker 4: about it.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Evan McPherson drilled the fifty four yard field goal to
- 18:09Speaker 2: account for the Bengals only points. And Ryan Rico got
- 18:12Speaker 2: a lot of punting opportunities in this game. With Grab
- 18:15Speaker 2: Robbins out and we don't know about his status for
- 18:18Speaker 2: the start of the regular season. I would think a
- 18:21Speaker 2: lot of opportunities for Ryan Rico is only a good thing.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely. And you know there were some mixed results there.
- 18:28Speaker 4: I mean, he got lucky, he got good bounce, I
- 18:30Speaker 4: should say on one of them that ended up being
- 18:32Speaker 4: a fifty plus yard punt that really wasn't that And
- 18:36Speaker 4: then his hangtime probably wasn't what he wanted. He can
- 18:39Speaker 4: kick him to the moon, so he was probably, I
- 18:43Speaker 4: don't know, maybe pressing a little bit. You know, this opportunity, man,
- 18:46Speaker 4: it's here. I got to take full advantage and you
- 18:49Speaker 4: learn from that. Now it's you know, when you are
- 18:52Speaker 4: punting against the Colts, you know next week, just relax,
- 18:56Speaker 4: trust your technique. You've done it a million times, You've
- 18:59Speaker 4: done it for years. Don't change anything. Just go out
- 19:03Speaker 4: and be the best you can be with what you
- 19:05Speaker 4: know how to do. And I think he's gonna be fine. Yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 4: because like you said, I mean, you know, hip flex
- 19:11Speaker 4: is no joke for anybody a kicker. I mean, those
- 19:15Speaker 4: those things. It's hard to put a timetable on him,
- 19:19Speaker 4: you know, and if you're trying to come back too early,
- 19:22Speaker 4: it can be a lingering, nagging thing. I mean, those
- 19:24Speaker 4: things are not pretty sometimes.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Charlie Jones should be back from his kneebrews soon. In
- 19:31Speaker 2: the meantime, we might have found out something about Jermaine
- 19:34Speaker 2: Burton as a return threat. He looked good both as
- 19:38Speaker 2: a punt returner and as a kick returner today and
- 19:40Speaker 2: he did not do that in college.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I thought that he made really good decisions, and that's
- 19:45Speaker 4: you know, the biggest percentage of the battle is being
- 19:49Speaker 4: decisive and making a quick decision. And I thought he
- 19:52Speaker 4: did that. And he got upfield, he got north and
- 19:54Speaker 4: south as quickly as he possibly could. And man, he's explosive,
- 20:00Speaker 4: he's sudden, he's got a strong body. I mean, all
- 20:03Speaker 4: the all the attributes that you like about him as
- 20:05Speaker 4: a as a receiver, he checks all those boxes as
- 20:08Speaker 4: a as a return guy as well. I mean he's
- 20:10Speaker 4: dynamic in space. You know, catches the ball well, I
- 20:15Speaker 4: mean tracks it well. He's got a lot going for
- 20:17Speaker 4: him in that regard. He's still learning the offense. It's
- 20:20Speaker 4: not as easy to learn it as maybe some people realize.
- 20:24Speaker 4: But this could be a way to get an immediate
- 20:26Speaker 4: return on a third round draft pick by using him
- 20:29Speaker 4: in that role. Yeah, when a guy has has that
- 20:31Speaker 4: kind of I mean back in the day, David Verser
- 20:34Speaker 4: was a guy first round pick out of Kansas, and
- 20:37Speaker 4: it's like, you know, he was struggling to learn everything
- 20:40Speaker 4: that needed to be learned and where the quarterbacks could
- 20:43Speaker 4: totally trust him that he was there. So you know what,
- 20:46Speaker 4: let's have him go back there and return kicks me
- 20:49Speaker 4: it takes one back for a touchdown, you know. I mean,
- 20:52Speaker 4: those guys that have have those those rare innate physical attributes,
- 20:58Speaker 4: you got to utilize them somehow, and that'd be a
- 21:00Speaker 4: good way to do it.
- 21:01Speaker 2: The results on the field weren't great on this extended
- 21:04Speaker 2: road trip to Chicago. Obviously, they had a couple of
- 21:06Speaker 2: very costly injuries in Thursday's joint practice, but there were
- 21:09Speaker 2: some good team bonding opportunities. The guys had some nice
- 21:12Speaker 2: dinners out. They had the Rookie Talent show at the
- 21:15Speaker 2: team hotel. So some of the things that you don't
- 21:19Speaker 2: get a chance to see necessarily were good on this trip.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know what it is valuable to Dan.
- 21:25Speaker 4: It's like when you're at a joint practice like they
- 21:29Speaker 4: had and the weather's so terrible and all that you
- 21:31Speaker 4: sit around and.
- 21:32Speaker 5: You talk about it, what was good, what do we
- 21:36Speaker 5: need to do better? You know, and then you can
- 21:38Speaker 5: joke about it too. Man, you look so terrible in
- 21:40Speaker 5: that ray.
- 21:41Speaker 4: I mean, you can have some fun with guys and
- 21:43Speaker 4: it can be a learning experience, a fun experience, a
- 21:47Speaker 4: bonding experience. I mean, you can always make a chicken
- 21:50Speaker 4: salad at a chicken as best you can.
- 21:54Speaker 2: That's a good note to wrap up on, and see
- 21:56Speaker 2: you for the joint practice on Tuesday.
- 21:57Speaker 5: Look forward to that, sir.
- 22:00Speaker 2: We'll see the starters back on the field in that
- 22:02Speaker 2: joint practice against the Colts on Tuesday afternoon. The final
- 22:05Speaker 2: preseason game is Thursday night at home against Indy. Kickoff
- 22:10Speaker 2: is at eight o'clock. The Bengals Booth podcast is brought

- 22:31Speaker 1: Of the Bengals.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Now it's time for this week's fun Facts conversation, where
- 22:36Speaker 2: you get to know the person under the pads. Time
- 22:41Speaker 2: for some fun facts with a Bengals rookie who has
- 22:44Speaker 2: the most difficult last name to spell since Shushman Zada,
- 22:48Speaker 2: Mumma Jong Meta.
- 22:50Speaker 1: How did I do good? I said it?
- 22:52Speaker 8: Okay, Yeah, you said it?
- 22:52Speaker 1: Okay, that's all right.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I want to start with your parents, who sound like
- 22:56Speaker 2: pretty remarkable people. Your mom was a Fulbright scholar, which
- 23:00Speaker 2: is extremely prestigious. Both of your parents have PhDs, which
- 23:04Speaker 2: is obviously an extremely high level of academic achievement. What
- 23:08Speaker 2: do you admire and respect about your folks?
- 23:11Speaker 8: My dad has three masters?
- 23:12Speaker 9: Just the record fell out the record. No, what do
- 23:17Speaker 9: I admire and respect them? About my parents? I mean
- 23:20Speaker 9: they are great people. Also just the it's nasty and
- 23:27Speaker 9: the perseverance to.
- 23:31Speaker 8: Leave their country at a young age.
- 23:34Speaker 9: I mean a little bit about them. So they were
- 23:36Speaker 9: from Cameroon, but just because of the political socioeconomic situation
- 23:41Speaker 9: in Cameroon, as someone who's English speaking, so it's there's
- 23:45Speaker 9: English speaking and French speaking people. Just the schools aren't
- 23:50Speaker 9: as welcoming for Uncle Phone people in Comeroon. So they
- 23:53Speaker 9: went to Nigeria. So they left, They left their family,
- 23:55Speaker 9: They went to Nigeria, a different country for university, and
- 23:58Speaker 9: I think that was when they're eighteen nine ten. From
- 24:00Speaker 9: that point on, they were pretty much on their own.
- 24:04Speaker 9: My dad's dad died when he was super young. He
- 24:06Speaker 9: was the first in his household. My mom's dad died
- 24:09Speaker 9: when she was also pretty young. She's the first in
- 24:11Speaker 9: her household. So they were just, I mean, trailblazers their
- 24:13Speaker 9: whole life. Went to Nigeria, got their degrees, came back.
- 24:19Speaker 9: My dad was like, Okay, I'm going to Liverpool to
- 24:21Speaker 9: get my PhD. While my mom was raising me and
- 24:24Speaker 9: my brother. At some point, you know, she gets breast cancer.
- 24:29Speaker 9: She's applying for full Bite. She beats cancer the first time,
- 24:33Speaker 9: accepts the full Bright scholarship to Texas.
- 24:35Speaker 8: A and m moves us, my dad, all.
- 24:38Speaker 9: Of us across the world, goes into remission, she's doing
- 24:42Speaker 9: her PhD, finishes her PhD, beats cancer the second time.
- 24:47Speaker 9: My dad's supporting us with his university job that pays nothing.
- 24:53Speaker 9: And then like they are trailblazers to the max. And
- 24:57Speaker 9: so like you know, I play art sport, we play
- 25:00Speaker 9: hard sport. There's a lot that goes into it. There's
- 25:02Speaker 9: a lot of you know everything, great diversity, but like,
- 25:09Speaker 9: was it really you know, what's that adversity I faced
- 25:13Speaker 9: in this sport compared to what they really had to do.
- 25:17Speaker 9: People ask if I had to bet on myself as
- 25:18Speaker 9: an undrafted guy. I did, But they had to bet
- 25:21Speaker 9: them on themselves to move across the world. You know,
- 25:25Speaker 9: we had a really nice life over there, and they
- 25:26Speaker 9: they put that on pause almost through it a way
- 25:29Speaker 9: for something better, for a better investment. And so they,
- 25:33Speaker 9: my parents are remarkable people and I owe a lot
- 25:36Speaker 9: of who I am to them and honestly to my
- 25:39Speaker 9: older brother too, who who has shaped me into the
- 25:42Speaker 9: man I am today.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Have you ever been back to Cameroon?
- 25:45Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 25:46Speaker 9: So, like I said, I was born there, went there
- 25:47Speaker 9: again in twenty twelve and haven't been back since. There's
- 25:52Speaker 9: a civil war right now, unfortunately, so I have not
- 25:55Speaker 9: been back since.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Because it's safe to assume that grades came first in
- 26:00Speaker 2: the Jong Meta household.
- 26:01Speaker 9: Grades came first. Grades came first. If you want to
- 26:04Speaker 9: go see your friends, what are grades looking like? At
- 26:07Speaker 9: one point, my dad was uh telling me that, hey,
- 26:10Speaker 9: if you you know, you get a C minus and
- 26:13Speaker 9: ap COWC, you're we're gonna quit football. You know, we're
- 26:16Speaker 9: gonna turn your cleats. And so, I mean, it was
- 26:18Speaker 9: always grades first, and it was hard then, but you
- 26:22Speaker 9: know now you look back and it's just like they
- 26:24Speaker 9: were just trying to teach me the important and priorities
- 26:26Speaker 9: and what's really important.
- 26:29Speaker 8: And uh, I mean obviously it worked out. You know,
- 26:32Speaker 8: if I had gotten that sea and I had to
- 26:34Speaker 8: quit football, let's suck. No, that would really suck. But
- 26:38Speaker 8: you know, it motivated me and got to B minus.
- 26:41Speaker 8: So grades always came first, for sure.
- 26:43Speaker 2: We're visiting with Bouma Jong Matta. Unlike most of your
- 26:46Speaker 2: Bengals teammates, you did not grow up with a football
- 26:49Speaker 2: in your hands. How and when did you get involved
- 26:52Speaker 2: with this sport?
- 26:53Speaker 9: Yeah, freshman year of high school got involved. You know,
- 26:59Speaker 9: we had a uh, basically we had this I went
- 27:03Speaker 9: to a really big high school, right four thousand kids,
- 27:06Speaker 9: and so as part of the transition from eighth grade
- 27:09Speaker 9: to ninth grade, they had they would always do like
- 27:12Speaker 9: these symposiums pretty much just like kids know, like hey,
- 27:14Speaker 9: this was with the squad to offer, and so they
- 27:18Speaker 9: sent some kids from the high school to my junior
- 27:19Speaker 9: high to do an art symposium, like completely random. And
- 27:23Speaker 9: one of the kids there was names cam Green. He
- 27:27Speaker 9: uh he they had just won state and basketball. They
- 27:31Speaker 9: had just won state in football and basketball, and he
- 27:33Speaker 9: was on both teams. He had his letterman on and
- 27:36Speaker 9: I saw him from Afar. I was like, man, I
- 27:37Speaker 9: thought he was the Closes dude. But I was like, man,
- 27:39Speaker 9: I want to be like him.
- 27:41Speaker 8: Seriously, no jokes, something as simple as that.
- 27:44Speaker 9: You know, if he hadn't taken art as a just
- 27:46Speaker 9: an easy credit his senior year, like maybe I wouldn't
- 27:48Speaker 9: be playing football.
- 27:49Speaker 1: You know, I didn't wearcket.
- 27:51Speaker 9: Or yeah, if you didn't whar the letter you know,
- 27:52Speaker 9: if he was just a guy like no letterman jacket.
- 27:55Speaker 8: You know who knows if I'm playing football?
- 27:56Speaker 9: So now, but I saw him from Afar and I
- 27:59Speaker 9: was like, man, I want you know, that's the type
- 28:01Speaker 9: of dude, I want to be like so, and that
- 28:05Speaker 9: that moment, that day, that small day, led me on
- 28:07Speaker 9: this nine year plus journey.
- 28:10Speaker 8: And it's crazy.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Once you started playing, what about this sport captivated you?
- 28:17Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean.
- 28:19Speaker 9: The first thing was I wasn't very good at it,
- 28:21Speaker 9: and that that was like frustrating because it was like
- 28:24Speaker 9: I should be like I get my butt kicked, I
- 28:28Speaker 9: feel like I'm getting the hang of this, but I'm
- 28:31Speaker 9: so I'm still sucking. And I think that's really what
- 28:35Speaker 9: it was. So like I was drawn for like maybe
- 28:38Speaker 9: some more superficial reasons, but what kept me going was
- 28:41Speaker 9: just the ability to get better like that, just the
- 28:44Speaker 9: chase of like, Okay, all right, I'm working on this.
- 28:46Speaker 8: I'm working on this.
- 28:46Speaker 9: Okay, boom, it's shown up. All right, cool, now I'm
- 28:48Speaker 9: working on this. I'm working on this. There was a camaraderie,
- 28:52Speaker 9: the team aspect of it, Like there's very like, I
- 28:54Speaker 9: don't know, team sports are awesome.
- 28:56Speaker 8: You know.
- 28:56Speaker 9: I did discus in high school, and there's a team
- 28:59Speaker 9: element to that, but like you're the one in the ring,
- 29:02Speaker 9: you know, and the team element comes out when maybe
- 29:05Speaker 9: your points come together for the team. But like it's
- 29:08Speaker 9: a solo sport. I've done solo sports, but I love
- 29:11Speaker 9: team sports. I love team sports. There's nothing like them.
- 29:15Speaker 9: The camaraderie, the brotherhood, the development of the men, you know,
- 29:20Speaker 9: to the man I became and becoming as I played
- 29:23Speaker 9: the sport, and the longer I played, the more I
- 29:26Speaker 9: realized how much football was like life. You know, so
- 29:29Speaker 9: many of the things you see in football happen in life,
- 29:32Speaker 9: and and.
- 29:33Speaker 8: The lessons are there.
- 29:34Speaker 9: You just have to look a little closer to see him,
- 29:36Speaker 9: and closer I looked them, I was like, man, this
- 29:39Speaker 9: there's nothing like the sport.
- 29:40Speaker 8: So it's a blessing to be here. I'm very excited.
- 29:44Speaker 2: You went to high school in the Chicago area. You
- 29:46Speaker 2: excelled on the field and in the classroom, and at
- 29:49Speaker 2: the end of your high school career, the Ivy League
- 29:51Speaker 2: schools came calling, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, et cetera. Considering your parents'
- 29:57Speaker 2: academic achievements. Did they push you toward the IVY League?
- 30:02Speaker 5: No?
- 30:02Speaker 9: One thing I love about my parents, they never really
- 30:05Speaker 9: pushed me for football. There's they actually pushed me against
- 30:08Speaker 9: the like we don't know if we don't know, if.
- 30:10Speaker 8: This is the answer. And then you know what. You know,
- 30:13Speaker 8: once college was free, They're like, all right, we're good
- 30:16Speaker 8: for it. No, I mean.
- 30:20Speaker 9: They were like, yeah, go wherever makes you happy. And
- 30:23Speaker 9: you know, I ended up being Wisconsin, which was a
- 30:26Speaker 9: great decision.
- 30:26Speaker 8: I loved. I loved Wisconsin.
- 30:29Speaker 2: And a great school. You spent five years there. What
- 30:31Speaker 2: was your favorite part of your college experience?
- 30:33Speaker 8: Oh, my goodness, this is a whole other interview.
- 30:37Speaker 9: Wisconsin is an amazing place because it's like it's it's
- 30:40Speaker 9: kind of the epitome of what I think. Like I
- 30:43Speaker 9: don't know, I think what college should be. It's like
- 30:45Speaker 9: work hard, play hard. That's how I am. They kids
- 30:48Speaker 9: over there are so smart. I mean I remember.
- 30:52Speaker 8: So there's that. There's that. There's the it's two hours
- 30:56Speaker 8: away from my house.
- 30:57Speaker 9: So like so many of my so so many high
- 30:59Speaker 9: school KI went there, but like not too many where
- 31:01Speaker 9: it felt like.
- 31:02Speaker 8: I was in high school.
- 31:03Speaker 9: But like enough where you walk around you're seeing, oh,
- 31:06Speaker 9: you're running to people like you haven't seen it in
- 31:08Speaker 9: a while. So I have friends who like we go
- 31:11Speaker 9: out together. You know, they were in Greek life and
- 31:15Speaker 9: maybe I'm going out once a week and they're telling
- 31:18Speaker 9: me stories of throughout Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
- 31:22Speaker 8: I'm like, oh my goodness.
- 31:23Speaker 9: And then final this time came around and U and
- 31:26Speaker 9: they started talking about school. I'm like, okay, like what
- 31:28Speaker 9: are you studying?
- 31:30Speaker 8: We're going down the line. One of them is a
- 31:31Speaker 8: biomedical engineer.
- 31:32Speaker 9: One of them's uh, one of them is neurobiology. One
- 31:35Speaker 9: of them this, that, this, and this was, uh this
- 31:38Speaker 9: was my girl group friend my girl friend group. So
- 31:40Speaker 9: like they were all in the sororities and they were
- 31:42Speaker 9: like active in Greek life and partying and doing this,
- 31:45Speaker 9: and it was like like that was what Wisconsin was like,
- 31:48Speaker 9: super smart kids who were down a good time to
- 31:51Speaker 9: have a good time, but who were also about their
- 31:52Speaker 9: business and it was a great combination.
- 31:55Speaker 8: Loved it there.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Some kids can pull it off. That wasn't a lot
- 31:58Speaker 1: of them.
- 31:59Speaker 2: So, following a great career with the Badgers, you weren't
- 32:02Speaker 2: selected in this year's draft, but it sounds like the
- 32:05Speaker 2: Bengals made it clear for months that they would be
- 32:08Speaker 2: interested in signing you as a college free agent.
- 32:11Speaker 9: Was that the case, Yeah, I I caught me by
- 32:13Speaker 9: surprise the Bengals, you know, so you know, my agent's like, yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 9: some teams just like the stand of the radar. You know,
- 32:19Speaker 9: I spoke with them. I spoke with them at the
- 32:23Speaker 9: Hula Bowl. I think I spoke with them at the
- 32:26Speaker 9: East West Ron game. I spoke with Ronnie Ragula like
- 32:31Speaker 9: maybe two weeks before the draft.
- 32:33Speaker 5: That was it.
- 32:34Speaker 9: But they didn't seem any more interested or less interested
- 32:36Speaker 9: than any other team. So it's kind of surprised when
- 32:39Speaker 9: I got the call, but I was. It was like
- 32:41Speaker 9: a pleasant surprise. I love Cincinnati into a ton of
- 32:45Speaker 9: Reds games. I'm a baseball fan now because of them.
- 32:49Speaker 8: I love the.
- 32:49Speaker 9: Vibes of the city. The locker room culture here is unreal.
- 32:53Speaker 9: The linebacker room is great Logan Jermaine, Akeem Joe. I
- 32:57Speaker 9: mean the great guys have learned from Like there's a lot,
- 33:00Speaker 9: uh you know, great pieces on the offense and defense
- 33:03Speaker 9: like this is. There's so much going for this team
- 33:06Speaker 9: that I love that. I'm just blessed to be here
- 33:08Speaker 9: every day.
- 33:08Speaker 8: So I was kind of guarded when they called me,
- 33:11Speaker 8: but I was like, let's go, let's ride.
- 33:14Speaker 2: So we're chatting the moment, Jong Meta. In your preseason debut,
- 33:18Speaker 2: you led the team with ten tackles and two pass deflections.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Did you feel like you showed you belong.
- 33:25Speaker 8: Yeah, that's an interesting question. I feel like I feel
- 33:29Speaker 8: like you know.
- 33:32Speaker 9: I think, first of all, it is a blessing to
- 33:34Speaker 9: play well on Saturday, Like that's awesome.
- 33:36Speaker 8: Anytime you play well, it's like a great feeling.
- 33:38Speaker 9: But also there's a realization that you know, it's about
- 33:42Speaker 9: the body of work. You know, no one remembers the
- 33:47Speaker 9: one hit Wonders. You know, a bunch of songs that
- 33:51Speaker 9: I've listened to from artists where man, it's only that's
- 33:53Speaker 9: the only song, Like it was cool back back then,
- 33:56Speaker 9: But what about now, you know? And what I mean
- 33:59Speaker 9: by that is it was great to play well, But
- 34:01Speaker 9: at the end of the day, what can I do
- 34:03Speaker 9: to continue to add? You know, I think you show
- 34:06Speaker 9: that you belong not by what you do on any
- 34:09Speaker 9: one day, but what you do over.
- 34:10Speaker 8: The course of time.
- 34:11Speaker 9: And my whole mindsett since I got here in April
- 34:15Speaker 9: or May or it's felt like I've been here for
- 34:17Speaker 9: a year. But try I belong every day by my preparation,
- 34:22Speaker 9: how I take care of my body, you know, how
- 34:25Speaker 9: I am in the meeting rooms, what the vets you're doing,
- 34:27Speaker 9: I'm doing. I'm taking care of my You know I
- 34:29Speaker 9: already said I but I'm taking care of my body
- 34:31Speaker 9: before after practice, like all those things. In my mind
- 34:33Speaker 9: is showing that I belong in great to go out
- 34:37Speaker 9: there and play really well.
- 34:38Speaker 8: But at the end of the day, it's what have
- 34:40Speaker 8: I been doing in practice?
- 34:40Speaker 9: What I have I been doing in OTAs, in training camp,
- 34:43Speaker 9: all that stuff. I think it's the body of work
- 34:46Speaker 9: that contributes to that.
- 34:48Speaker 2: You're an Eagle Scout, meaning you earned at least twenty
- 34:51Speaker 2: one merit badge. Is what does rank of Eagle Scout
- 34:55Speaker 2: represent to you?
- 34:56Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 34:57Speaker 9: Scout is trustworthy, loyal, honest, helpful, friendly, kind, courageous, obedient, cheerful, brave, thrifty,
- 35:04Speaker 9: and reverent.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 9: So we used to recite that all the time. But no,
- 35:09Speaker 9: I mean being an Eagle Scout was is cool. My
- 35:12Speaker 9: dad said it would help me get in college.
- 35:16Speaker 8: Football helped me get into college.
- 35:17Speaker 9: But the skills I learned boy scouts, I think actually
- 35:21Speaker 9: have transferred into the type of person I am today
- 35:23Speaker 9: and the leader I am just because in boy scouts
- 35:25Speaker 9: are dealing with all types of people and trying to
- 35:27Speaker 9: combine together for one common goal, sort of like football,
- 35:31Speaker 9: except the things that keep people together in football are
- 35:34Speaker 9: slightly different than the things that keep people together in
- 35:36Speaker 9: a boy Scout unit. But I loved my experience there
- 35:40Speaker 9: and I love camping now because of it. Then, yeah,
- 35:45Speaker 9: random fun the fact I tell people like some of
- 35:47Speaker 9: my teammates have.
- 35:47Speaker 8: Kids, I'm like, how mean babysit for you? I'm an
- 35:50Speaker 8: eagle scout like I have that going for me. So no, yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 8: that's something I did in my past life.
- 35:57Speaker 2: You majored in business with a focus in finance, banking
- 36:00Speaker 2: and investment. Do you know what you would like to
- 36:02Speaker 2: do after football?
- 36:03Speaker 8: Yeah, hopefully in you know, fifteen twenty.
- 36:06Speaker 9: No, I'm gonna go the next chance I get, you know,
- 36:11Speaker 9: hopefully next offseason or whenever the time comes. I'm gonna
- 36:15Speaker 9: finish my masters. I have one more semester left my
- 36:17Speaker 9: master's in the finance, and then probably pursue that route,
- 36:22Speaker 9: do some some on that end.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Final fun fact for Muma Jong Matta, This one's kind
- 36:27Speaker 2: of deep. If you could meet anyone in history, living
- 36:32Speaker 2: or deceased, who would that person be?
- 36:35Speaker 8: Oh uh, probably Jesus.
- 36:38Speaker 9: And then if I could like be like your phone
- 36:40Speaker 9: a friend, like get Buddha, get Buddha on the line. Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 9: I mean definitely been growing in my faith probably yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 9: since honestly since college.
- 36:52Speaker 8: So I'd love to meet Jesus. Uh and then maybe
- 36:56Speaker 8: a nonspiritual answer.
- 36:57Speaker 9: No, I'm gonna submit that. That's my final answer, Jesus and then.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Buddh And it's a very good answer. I appreciate your time.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Hope you have another great game this week and best
- 37:07Speaker 2: of luck in the future.
- 37:07Speaker 8: Appreciate you, Thank you.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Booma has done very well in the first two preseason
- 37:12Speaker 2: games as he looks to earn a spot on the
- 37:14Speaker 2: fifty three man roster or the Bengals sixteen man practice squad.
- 37:19Speaker 1: That's going to.
