- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I got to come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:39Speaker 2: All right welcome back in otv here live from rouses
- 0:46Speaker 2: that's right the people are cheering that we're back for
- 0:48Speaker 2: hour number two you can't see them but you heard them.
- 0:50Speaker 3: There they're there probably just got their sushi.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Our guy.
- 0:58Speaker 4: My guy was locked in. I went over and talked
- 0:59Speaker 4: to him a second ago. I didn't get a lot
- 1:01Speaker 4: back from him. He's locked in. He's slicing up that tuna.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Got the avocados already ready to roll. He didn't start
- 1:11Speaker 4: a conversation with you?
- 1:12Speaker 2: Well, no.
- 1:13Speaker 3: He's locked in. He's doing his job.
- 1:14Speaker 2: He's here for a job? It's fair. Just like us.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's fair, actually.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Super professional. Super professional.
- 1:23Speaker 2: The bills don't suck. Oh, no. They're pretty good. Not yet.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Not yet. Yeah. Are they going to?
- 1:29Speaker 3: I mean, at some point.
- 1:31Speaker 2: You think?
- 1:32Speaker 3: I mean, odds are.
- 1:35Speaker 2: They went 41-31 against the Detroit Lions last night.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Lions didn't look very good for a while.
- 1:43Speaker 4: They showed some fight, showed a little heart, but it was, man,
- 1:48Speaker 4: they couldn't stop nothing for the first half.
- 1:51Speaker 2: No, the Bills, man, they're such a well-oiled machine, and...
- 1:57Speaker 2: Josh Allen's just a unicorn. How about this? Listen to this.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It's crazy. Josh Allen has more rushing touchdowns. So, obviously,
- 2:06Speaker 2: not passing touchdowns, a quarterback. Rushing touchdowns than Frank Gore.
- 2:11Speaker 2: He's got 83. Frank Gore has 81. Edgerin James, who
- 2:13Speaker 2: has 80. Tony Dorsett, who has 77. Earl Campbell, who
- 2:16Speaker 2: has 74. Ezekiel Elliott, who has 74. Shady McCoy, who
- 2:28Speaker 2: has 73. Eddie George, he was pretty good, who has 68.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Ricky Williams, who has 66. Tiki Barber, who has 55.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Just a couple of names that Josh Allen has more
- 2:41Speaker 2: rushing touchdowns. A couple of names.
- 2:43Speaker 4: A lot of Hall of Famers there that were paid
- 2:46Speaker 4: a lot of money.
- 2:47Speaker 2: To rush touchdowns.
- 2:48Speaker 4: And they had a full bust in Canton, Ohio, because
- 2:52Speaker 4: they ran the football for touchdowns. Josh throws the football
- 2:56Speaker 4: for his money, but still also rushes. It's amazing to me. Like,
- 3:02Speaker 4: he's tall, but he doesn't, like, he doesn't give this
- 3:06Speaker 4: presence about him that he's very, like, big and tall and.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Strong and lean and mean.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But, oh, I had a chance to, like, meet him
- 3:13Speaker 2: and interview him for the first time during the training
- 3:16Speaker 2: camp tour. And Yeah, he's a tall guy, but he
- 3:20Speaker 2: would never walk by and you'd be like, hey, Cam
- 3:22Speaker 2: Newton just walked by. Yeah, all right. Or somebody like
- 3:25Speaker 2: a guy like that.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Like an absolute unit walking by.
- 3:27Speaker 2: No, you don't get that at all. But he runs
- 3:30Speaker 2: the ball.
- 3:31Speaker 4: And these are the best in the world at hitting
- 3:35Speaker 4: people and trying to send a message. And they just
- 3:38Speaker 4: kind of like, they tackle him, but no one ever
- 3:41Speaker 4: hits him hard.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 4: And it's not like they're not squaring him up. Or
- 3:45Speaker 4: hitting him in the side. It's not like he's so
- 3:47Speaker 4: elusive that they just can't get a clean shot on him.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 4: It is pretty impressive. He'll get tackled and take some hits.
- 3:54Speaker 4: He got tackled on a touchdown yesterday. A defensive lineman
- 3:56Speaker 4: ended up hitting him. It was a little bit dirty.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Cheap shot a little bit. A little bit late after
- 4:01Speaker 4: he'd already scored. And landed on top of him. There's
- 4:04Speaker 4: a big guy landing on top of him. I'm like, man,
- 4:06Speaker 4: this guy's unbreakable. Most quarterbacks.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Definitely including myself.
- 4:13Speaker 2: He ran the ball 14 times. So last night he
- 4:17Speaker 2: was 20 of 31. And he's not sliding. God, no.
- 4:21Speaker 2: 20 of 31, 248 through the air, 8 yards per attempt,
- 4:23Speaker 2: 3 touchdowns, no interceptions. On the ground, 14 carries for
- 4:27Speaker 2: 69 yards and 2 touchdowns. I mean, he's inevitable at
- 4:33Speaker 2: this point. And I know that they've fallen short in
- 4:36Speaker 2: the playoffs and that's why Joe Brady's now the head
- 4:39Speaker 2: coach there, but I feel like they've done a couple
- 4:42Speaker 2: of things. DJ Moore goes out last night, and that
- 4:45Speaker 2: was one of their big pieces they brought in in
- 4:48Speaker 2: the offseason.
- 4:49Speaker 4: So we'll see what that looks like. Yeah, that was
- 4:52Speaker 4: kind of... That kind of was really unfortunate. Did you
- 4:55Speaker 4: see the injury?
- 4:55Speaker 2: No. Oh, yeah. So, yeah. It was like after a play.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I was watching the U-High Cubs and the Plaquemine Green Devils.
- 5:01Speaker 2: He ran around.
- 5:02Speaker 4: He kind of like went in route, and the DB
- 5:05Speaker 4: kind of like fell to his knee and just like
- 5:07Speaker 4: clipped his ankle and just goes, teek, like real quick.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Rolled it just a little bit. I don't think he
- 5:11Speaker 4: broke it, but probably a little sprain. It's nice because
- 5:15Speaker 4: you can work so hard for so long, and then
- 5:17Speaker 4: something like little like that happens.
- 5:18Speaker 2: It's so frustrating.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Just like if somebody trips and accidentally hits you.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah. It was not– It was a behind to play, too.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It just kind of sucks.
- 5:27Speaker 3: But, yeah, they're good.
- 5:28Speaker 2: They're pretty good. James Cook is another reason why they're
- 5:31Speaker 2: really good. 21 carries, 135 yards, 6.4 yards per attempt
- 5:36Speaker 2: and a touchdown as well. Man, they come at you
- 5:39Speaker 2: from all angles. Our former teammate, Jim Leonard. Oh, yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 2: You definitely remember that. Defense coordinator there. They gave up 31,
- 5:48Speaker 2: but a lot of it, like you said, it was
- 5:49Speaker 2: certainly a late touchdown game. the Lions were playing from behind,
- 5:53Speaker 2: so you were playing a little bit of a softer
- 5:56Speaker 2: defense than you normally would have, but, I mean, Jared
- 5:58Speaker 2: Goff had a good day, 26 of 38, 327 and
- 6:01Speaker 2: four tuds. Like, he still had a great day, but
- 6:05Speaker 2: Detroit right now, man, I mean, what they gave up
- 6:09Speaker 2: to Shuck last week, what they gave up to Josh
- 6:13Speaker 2: Allen here, and that, look, they don't have their DBs, right?
- 6:16Speaker 2: Their DBs are out injured. They got two starting DBs
- 6:20Speaker 2: that or out with injury, you have one starting DB
- 6:22Speaker 2: that got released because of off-the-field issues. So you're down
- 6:26Speaker 2: three starters in the defensive backfield, and man, it's showing.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not just the lack of the presence of
- 6:37Speaker 4: the safety.
- 6:38Speaker 3: So they were... there was holes everywhere.
- 6:41Speaker 4: In that defense yesterday so um i don't know if
- 6:44Speaker 4: it's a talent situation uh or what's going on but
- 6:48Speaker 4: it makes you wonder from like a saint's perspective it
- 6:50Speaker 4: makes you wonder like how valid was the performance last
- 6:53Speaker 4: week in the second half like is.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Their defense just bad is the saints are the saints.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Good um we will find out as the weeks unfold
- 7:02Speaker 4: certainly but i think there was probably a lot of
- 7:04Speaker 4: saints fans eye and eye hustle in that game last
- 7:06Speaker 4: night just trying to Get some sort of other look
- 7:11Speaker 4: at the Saints by watching the Lions play the Bills
- 7:14Speaker 4: last night. And was it somebody for the Lions that
- 7:20Speaker 4: called Chuck a poor man's Josh Allen?
- 7:22Speaker 3: Did I see that online?
- 7:24Speaker 2: That was the Ravens defensive coordinator.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That was the Ravens defensive coordinator.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 3: That's right.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Who's about to play him. All right. Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 3: I mean, I'd take it. I'd take that comparison.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, like if you said, hey, yeah, Hester was a
- 7:37Speaker 2: great value, Mike Allstott, absolutely I'd take it. You know
- 7:41Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 7:41Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Let's do this. Give me the generic brand. I mean,
- 7:44Speaker 2: I know I'm a cheaper, but not that much. Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 2: People still buy me. You know what I'm saying? You
- 7:50Speaker 2: get it.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'd take it.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 2: So, yeah, that was Thursday Night Football in the NFL.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The Buffalo Bills 41-31 over the Detroit Lions. And quickly
- 8:02Speaker 2: we'll go over the NFL slate coming up this weekend.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Sunday in the NFC South, it is the Panthers at
- 8:12Speaker 2: the Falcons. In the NFC North, it is the Vikings
- 8:15Speaker 2: at the Bears. You've got the Philadelphia Eagles at the
- 8:18Speaker 2: Tennessee Titans. You've got the Pittsburgh Steelers at the New
- 8:21Speaker 2: England Patriots. I'm actually looking forward to that game. You've
- 8:24Speaker 2: got the Green Bay Packers at the New York Jets.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I've got the Jets pulling off the upset. You've got
- 8:29Speaker 2: the Cleveland Browns at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You've got
- 8:32Speaker 2: the New Orleans Saints at the Baltimore Ravens. You've got
- 8:35Speaker 2: the Cincinnati Bengals at the Houston Texans. Can't wait for
- 8:38Speaker 2: that one. Hopefully Joey B's ready to go. I think
- 8:40Speaker 2: the Bengals have a chance to pull off a minor
- 8:43Speaker 2: upset in that one as well. You've got Jacksonville traveling
- 8:46Speaker 2: to Denver. You've got the Raiders traveling to the Chargers.
- 8:50Speaker 2: The Raiders will have more fans in the building, I
- 8:53Speaker 2: promise you. You've got the Commanders traveling to the Cowboys,
- 8:56Speaker 2: the Seahawks at the Cardinals, the Dolphins at the 49ers,
- 8:59Speaker 2: and then you've got the Colts at Kansas City on
- 9:02Speaker 2: Sunday night, and the Giants at the Rams on Monday night.
- 9:05Speaker 2: That game looks much more intriguing than it once did.
- 9:09Speaker 2: As we talked about it last week, we talked about
- 9:10Speaker 2: it early in the week. Who were some of the
- 9:13Speaker 2: biggest underdogs? Well, the New Orleans Saints kind of fall
- 9:15Speaker 2: into that category, although the line did go from 8.5
- 9:18Speaker 2: to 7.5. And so... Right now, for the second week
- 9:22Speaker 2: in a row, the Saints are the third biggest underdog
- 9:25Speaker 2: in the NFL. Last week, they were a touchdown dog
- 9:28Speaker 2: to Detroit and had two chances to win that game.
- 9:32Speaker 2: The Browns are an 8.5-point dog to Tampa Bay. And then,
- 9:36Speaker 2: of course, the biggest line of the week, the 49ers,
- 9:38Speaker 2: minus 13.5 over the Miami Dolphins.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, that one, that checks out for me.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Dolphins are poo-poo. And the Niners beat the offseason Darlings.
- 9:52Speaker 2: They are bad, but they are doing it the right way,
- 9:54Speaker 2: I think, in how you have to tear it all
- 9:57Speaker 2: the way down to build it back up. They've got
- 10:00Speaker 2: like $ 186 million or something in that neighborhood, dead cap money.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Dead cap from Tua Tungvalu and Tyreek Hill and all
- 10:10Speaker 2: those moves that they made. And so they just said,
- 10:13Speaker 2: you know what, give us all draft picks. We're going
- 10:14Speaker 2: to draft. And they're playing their young guys. Like their
- 10:16Speaker 2: green dot, Jacob Rodriguez, rookie. I mean, Caleb Douglas, their
- 10:21Speaker 2: leading receiver, rookie. Their starting safety, Michael Taft, rookie. Like,
- 10:24Speaker 2: you can go down. Starting left guard, rookie. They got
- 10:29Speaker 2: so many rookies on that team. So, at least, if
- 10:31Speaker 2: you're going to be bad. Jacob Rodriguez? Almost friend of
- 10:35Speaker 2: the show. What did you call him again? Exactly. No. Alondra,
- 10:40Speaker 2: there's a story there. Let's not bring it up. Alondra,
- 10:44Speaker 2: I forget what it is. Gonzalez. Let's not bring it up. Gonzalez. Yep.
- 10:51Speaker 2: You called that man Jacob Gonzalez.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Well, I said it right this time.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Alondra, that you have to deal with that.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Y'all are trying to make me look bad around here.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You do that yourself. You do that yourself.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's also fair.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Almost friend of the show. Almost got an interview with him.
- 11:16Speaker 2: You didn't? No.
- 11:18Speaker 3: No, he has too many people around him.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I got one.
- 11:22Speaker 3: No big deal. Not for our show.
- 11:24Speaker 2: It wasn't? Nope. Rude. Don't be damn. I'm going to
- 11:31Speaker 2: give you three upsets in the NFL this week. That
- 11:34Speaker 2: are going to play out or upset alerts? No, they're
- 11:36Speaker 2: going to play out. Just go ahead and parlay them.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:40Speaker 2: The Pittsburgh Steelers over the Patriots. Is that an upset? Well,
- 11:44Speaker 2: Patriots are five and a half point favorite at home.
- 11:45Speaker 2: What do you mean? Okay. The New York Jets over
- 11:49Speaker 2: the Green Bay Packers. Packers three-and-a-half-point favorite on the road.
- 11:55Speaker 2: And I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on
- 11:57Speaker 2: this one, and you're going to laugh at me. The
- 12:00Speaker 2: New York Giants on the road against the L.A. Rams.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Seven-point dogs. Okay. No Miles Garrett? All right. Okay.
- 12:11Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not going to laugh at you, no.
- 12:12Speaker 4: The way the Rams looked last week was terrible.
- 12:14Speaker 2: The Giants are good.
- 12:16Speaker 3: They look like a– They're playing Cowboys, but.
- 12:18Speaker 4: The Giants looked good, and they looked like a bully.
- 12:22Speaker 4: There was a lot of hype with the Cowboys going in.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Is this the Cowboys' year finally?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Blah, blah, blah.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Well, no.
- 12:29Speaker 3: It wasn't last week, at least. They got beat up.
- 12:32Speaker 2: When you think about the Giants and how they drafted,
- 12:36Speaker 2: I mean, Dart looked good. Scadaboo looked good. Malik looked
- 12:40Speaker 2: like he was back to his old self. Isaiah Likely
- 12:42Speaker 2: coming over from Baltimore looked good. And hell... They got
- 12:45Speaker 2: more first-round defensive linemen slash edge rushers slash will linebackers
- 12:50Speaker 2: than anybody ever. They can mix and match those pieces
- 12:54Speaker 2: all together. I don't know. Yep. Could be one. And
- 12:58Speaker 2: if you put that together as a parlay, I don't
- 13:00Speaker 2: know the odds, but I feel like they'd be pretty big.
- 13:02Speaker 2: All money lines. Oh, yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I'm going to go Raiders over Chargers.
- 13:06Speaker 2: That's not really that big of an answer. You saw
- 13:07Speaker 2: Chargers last week. They're six and a half. What do
- 13:09Speaker 2: you mean? They're six and a half point favorites. Are
- 13:10Speaker 2: they really? Good God.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, six and a half.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Now, I will say this. The Chargers last year, they
- 13:16Speaker 2: lost to the Giants, the Commanders, and the Colts, all
- 13:19Speaker 2: non-playoff teams. And so they have a history of having
- 13:23Speaker 2: a couple of those per year. Now, have you seen
- 13:26Speaker 2: the Chargers schedule after this game? At Buffalo, at Seattle.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Denver at home, at Kansas City, at the Rams, Texans
- 13:38Speaker 2: at home, at Baltimore. Okay. Good one. Those are all
- 13:41Speaker 2: in a row? All in a row. Chargers are going
- 13:44Speaker 2: to be two and six. They're going to be terrible
- 13:46Speaker 2: this year. Oh, my God. What are we doing?
- 13:48Speaker 4: I'll tell you what, this weekend I am excited about
- 13:50Speaker 4: the Sunday night game, Colts at the Chiefs.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Just because of how good the Chiefs are. It feels
- 13:55Speaker 3: like the Chiefs always play at home.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Do they play 15 of their games at home?
- 13:59Speaker 3: I feel like they do.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Oh, they don't?
- 14:02Speaker 3: No.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Every time they're on a TV, it's at Arrowhead. At Arrowhead.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I'm excited to see it.
- 14:10Speaker 4: I'm excited to watch them again because one of the
- 14:12Speaker 4: best quarterbacks to ever play the game possibly will go
- 14:16Speaker 4: down as the best. There's a potential there. He is
- 14:20Speaker 4: playing again. And he played pretty well. I know he
- 14:23Speaker 4: didn't complete a lot of passes. A lot of people
- 14:25Speaker 4: throwing around the passing chart.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Who gives a damn? He played really well.
- 14:30Speaker 4: And he will continue to get better and better as
- 14:31Speaker 4: he gets more comfortable with that knee and getting back
- 14:34Speaker 4: into going full speed. So the man heals like Wolverine.
- 14:39Speaker 4: And I'm here for it. Because any time you get
- 14:42Speaker 4: a chance to watch him play, any time you get
- 14:44Speaker 4: a chance to watch these vets and these greatest ever
- 14:48Speaker 4: do it, I don't know, I'm biased, but every time
- 14:51Speaker 4: I get to watch the Steelers and Aaron play again,
- 14:53Speaker 4: it's one of the last times you'll get to watch
- 14:55Speaker 4: that guy play football.
- 14:56Speaker 3: And that gets me excited. Same with Stafford.
- 15:00Speaker 4: I like watching him just play the game, even if
- 15:02Speaker 4: it plays bad. And I get it. I'm biased in
- 15:04Speaker 4: a lot of these things, but I don't really care.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I like to see the best ever do a play,
- 15:08Speaker 4: and these guys that have been doing it for 10-plus years,
- 15:12Speaker 4: I'm excited to tune in and watch football Sunday night
- 15:15Speaker 4: because I get to watch Patrick Williams play.
- 15:17Speaker 2: All right. We are going to step away. We've got
- 15:19Speaker 2: much more coming your way. Again, we've got What's the Ticket?
- 15:22Speaker 2: We have got our pontoon parlay. We have got our
- 15:25Speaker 2: final prediction on the Saints and the Tigers coming up.

- 16:35Speaker 4: all the great work in the community, but let his
- 16:37Speaker 4: team fight for you. If you've been injured, go to
- 16:39Speaker 4: get Gordon.com.
- 16:58Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 17:01Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Off the Bench. Hello. Yo, what up? What's happening? Hello, somebody.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Shut up, Big Faith. So we've talked about this during
- 17:48Speaker 2: the week, and we did, again, a film study on
- 17:51Speaker 2: the Ole Miss offense and what we think the LSU
- 17:54Speaker 2: defense can do or some of the challenges that they face.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Give Ole Miss his offense and any offense. And I
- 18:03Speaker 2: don't do a deep dive into some of the national shows,
- 18:06Speaker 2: and I don't really follow a lot of college national
- 18:11Speaker 2: media members like I did now that I've made the
- 18:14Speaker 2: transition to the NFL in the afternoons. But it keeps
- 18:18Speaker 2: finding its way in front of me, and I don't
- 18:20Speaker 2: follow a lot of it. It's the algorithm, and it's
- 18:22Speaker 2: just in front– If I see Ben Mintz's face one
- 18:25Speaker 2: more time yelling at something, I'm just going to throw
- 18:28Speaker 2: my phone into the Mississippi River. Okay. And look, Mintz,
- 18:31Speaker 2: that's not against you. That's just if I see your
- 18:33Speaker 2: face again. It's in front of me. Is there anything
- 18:37Speaker 2: you can do to change that?
- 18:39Speaker 1: Nope.
- 18:39Speaker 3: No, it's just the face.
- 18:40Speaker 2: This week, it's just his face.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Just this week?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yes. His face.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Not doing it for you.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Not doing it for me.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Respect. Just because I've seen it a lot. I'm worried for...
- 18:50Speaker 2: I'm worried for Mint. Mint's got to get the kickoff.
- 18:53Speaker 2: And he's got to pace himself a little bit. I'm
- 18:55Speaker 2: worried he's not going to get the kickoff. And, look,
- 18:59Speaker 2: I want Ben to have a good time and be
- 19:00Speaker 2: in the stadium and, you know, amongst his people until
- 19:04Speaker 2: the clock hits triple zero and he's mad again. But
- 19:07Speaker 2: I've seen a lot. So I bring that up to say,
- 19:11Speaker 2: are you surprised by the lack of respect that the
- 19:13Speaker 2: LSU defense is getting in this matchup?
- 19:16Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Are they getting a lack of respect?
- 19:20Speaker 2: I think so.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I haven't really noticed.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Too much. And not even, like, directly, but it's like
- 19:25Speaker 2: Ole Miss' offense. And it's good. And Trinidad might be
- 19:28Speaker 2: the best quarterback in the country. But, like, it's that.
- 19:32Speaker 2: It's Lacey at running back. It's two Heisman contenders and
- 19:35Speaker 2: Deuce Alexander. And I get giving them their flowers. I
- 19:39Speaker 2: guess I'm saying I've just been surprised with how dominant
- 19:42Speaker 2: LSU has been. The number one defense in the country.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Yards allowed. They are the number one defense in the
- 19:48Speaker 2: country right now. They have the most sacks. in the
- 19:50Speaker 2: country right now. We talked about it, I guess it
- 19:54Speaker 2: was maybe Monday or Tuesday. We have the sack leader. Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Prince Will.
- 20:00Speaker 3: He's leading the country in sacks.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And he's serving papers to make you more angry. Yeah.
- 20:06Speaker 2: We did talk about that. I don't even remember what
- 20:08Speaker 2: day that was. He's just like eight o'clock. Rushing yards
- 20:11Speaker 2: per game, you give up 18 on the ground per game.
- 20:13Speaker 2: That's second in the country. So all of those stats.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And it just feels like, and maybe it's because we
- 20:20Speaker 2: all love offense, we love points, but I'm just, this
- 20:23Speaker 2: defense for LSU is so much better even than it
- 20:26Speaker 2: was a year ago. And it was good last year.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Last year was top 30 scoring defense. So I guess
- 20:31Speaker 2: I'm just a little bit surprised with the question hasn't
- 20:34Speaker 2: been posed more of, is the LSU defense going to
- 20:38Speaker 2: have success against this Ole Miss offense? It's almost like
- 20:41Speaker 2: Ole Miss is going to have success on offense. Can
- 20:43Speaker 2: LSU's offense take advantage of some of the interior of
- 20:47Speaker 2: the Ole Miss defensive line? All those things. I guess
- 20:49Speaker 2: I'm just a little surprised that it hasn't been– because
- 20:53Speaker 2: I think it's going to be great. I think Ole
- 20:54Speaker 2: Miss does have a good offense. I'm not going to
- 20:56Speaker 2: throw shade at their offense. I think they're good. I
- 20:59Speaker 2: think it looks different than it did a year ago.
- 21:02Speaker 2: But with Trinidad Chambliss back there, I think he gives
- 21:04Speaker 2: you a chance. I guess I'm just surprised it hasn't
- 21:06Speaker 2: been the Ole Miss offense versus the LSU defense. And
- 21:09Speaker 2: let's do a deep dive into that conversation because this
- 21:12Speaker 2: LSU defense deserves to be a part of a comparison
- 21:15Speaker 2: like that.
- 21:16Speaker 4: I said this either yesterday or two days ago. I
- 21:19Speaker 4: actually really like this matchup for LSU's defense. Of course,
- 21:22Speaker 4: you're the number one defense in the country up to
- 21:25Speaker 4: this point.
- 21:26Speaker 3: And I get it.
- 21:26Speaker 2: You've played....
- 21:28Speaker 4: One power for school. You played one that was not.
- 21:32Speaker 4: And you know, maybe you can make an argument that
- 21:34Speaker 4: they hadn't really like faced a big challenge, but that's
- 21:38Speaker 4: the same for everybody in college football right now, unless
- 21:41Speaker 4: you're Ohio state or Texas, pretty much.
- 21:43Speaker 3: That's pretty much everybody.
- 21:44Speaker 4: They like, you've got one directional school team that you've
- 21:47Speaker 4: played and you've got one power 14 that you played.
- 21:50Speaker 4: So everyone's kind of on equal playing ground here. Um,
- 21:54Speaker 4: This defense that LSU has, and we've talked about the
- 21:57Speaker 4: defense so much more than we have the offense because
- 22:00Speaker 4: it has been so impressive, and we are so kind
- 22:03Speaker 4: of surprised. I was surprised when I turned on the
- 22:06Speaker 4: first Clemson tape and watched T.J.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Daugherty play.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I was shocked at how good he was. It's like, oh,
- 22:11Speaker 2: my God, who is this fella?
- 22:15Speaker 4: So the matchup to me is advantageous towards LSU's defense. Now,
- 22:21Speaker 4: That is just from what I've seen this year on
- 22:24Speaker 4: LSU's defense and Ole Miss's offense. Now, I watch Ole
- 22:26Speaker 4: Miss's offense, and, yes, they do have playmakers.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 4: But their offense does look a little bit more bland,
- 22:36Speaker 4: a little bit less dynamic than it did a year ago,
- 22:39Speaker 4: and you can make your own conclusions as to why
- 22:42Speaker 4: that is. But there are things that they're doing that aren't, like,
- 22:46Speaker 4: Real dynamic as far as creativity. They are pretty basic-looking plays.
- 22:52Speaker 4: They are certainly relying on Trinidad to beat Trinidad a lot,
- 22:55Speaker 4: and they just couldn't do that against Louisville as much
- 22:58Speaker 4: until the second half. They've had trouble running the ball,
- 23:04Speaker 4: unless it is Trinidad running it, whether it's a scramble
- 23:07Speaker 4: or one of those fake a jet sweep, fake a toss,
- 23:10Speaker 4: run a counter type situations. they've had struggle running the
- 23:14Speaker 4: ball in both weeks. So it's going to be interesting
- 23:20Speaker 4: to see because this will be the first big test
- 23:22Speaker 4: of many that the LSU defense will have.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Hopefully T.J. Dottari is fully healthy going into this game.
- 23:27Speaker 2: We will see. Is he still doubtful? Questionable.
- 23:31Speaker 3: He's questionable.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he stayed questionable this whole week.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Okay, he was never doubtful.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Never doubtful. I think Sam was the only one that
- 23:38Speaker 2: was doubtful because there was– A couple of players, including
- 23:42Speaker 2: Phillip Wright, that was out. I think it was three.
- 23:45Speaker 2: And then Sam Levitt was doubtful. And then T.J. Dottery
- 23:48Speaker 2: was questionable.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I was happy to see Witt and Trey Des get
- 23:53Speaker 4: completely healthy in 24 hours.
- 23:56Speaker 2: They were probable.
- 23:57Speaker 3: They were completely healthy. They don't even have any soreness anymore.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Good. Don't want them to have any. Good. So the
- 24:06Speaker 2: total numbers on LSU's defense. Right now, total defense number
- 24:10Speaker 2: one in the country. Rushing defense number two in the country.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Passing defense number 12 in the country. Sacks number one
- 24:16Speaker 2: in the country. Tackles for loss, they're up there. Top
- 24:19Speaker 2: five in the country. Third down defense. The opponents right
- 24:23Speaker 2: now are 14% on third down against LSU.
- 24:27Speaker 3: It's pretty good. 14% conversion rate.
- 24:29Speaker 2: 0 for 2 on fourth down against LSU's defense. Yards
- 24:33Speaker 2: per play, 2.5 yards. per play right now that's pretty
- 24:38Speaker 2: good so I mean we can't give you any more
- 24:42Speaker 2: stats that aren't going to make you you know even
- 24:46Speaker 2: more impressed like those are elite stats.
- 24:48Speaker 4: The good part is it's time to stop talking about
- 24:50Speaker 4: it you know what I mean it's time to like
- 24:52Speaker 4: start telling you how good they are you get to
- 24:54Speaker 4: watch it for yourself because it'll be a real test
- 24:57Speaker 4: Ole Miss has a heavyweight punchers chance at scoring a
- 25:02Speaker 4: touchdown every single drive, right.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Because they have the talent.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Now, I do not think they have the capability this
- 25:09Speaker 4: year to sustain drive after drive after drive against LSU's defense.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Last year they did. I mean, they had a lot
- 25:17Speaker 2: of third down conversions.
- 25:18Speaker 4: But we also had multiple interceptions.
- 25:20Speaker 3: We had a pick six that came back.
- 25:21Speaker 4: There was situations where the defense last year, and this
- 25:24Speaker 4: year the defense is better.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I'm sorry it is.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Like you had some better players, a couple better players. Obviously,
- 25:31Speaker 4: Montsour Delane and A.J.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Hall.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Like, you had some dudes last year that you hate
- 25:35Speaker 4: to miss. But as a whole, those 11 guys are
- 25:39Speaker 4: really damn good and really fast and high football IQ.
- 25:43Speaker 2: And, again, you say this all the time, and you're
- 25:45Speaker 2: exactly right. When you watch tape, you see a real
- 25:48Speaker 2: strain to get to the ball.
- 25:50Speaker 4: It's a strain. They strain to get to the ball. And,
- 25:53Speaker 4: my God, it's going to be there this week. So,
- 25:56Speaker 4: I am looking forward to laughing. At Ole Miss fans.
- 26:02Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to seeing them getting made fun of
- 26:05Speaker 4: because they're going.
- 26:05Speaker 3: To be so sad.
- 26:06Speaker 4: They're going to be so sad Saturday night when they
- 26:09Speaker 4: go to bed. And LSU's defense has only given up
- 26:11Speaker 4: about 195 yards. I'll take that. I'll take a win. Anyway,
- 26:19Speaker 4: it comes. Maybe a couple defensive tutters. I'll take that, too.
- 26:25Speaker 2: All right, so, yeah, the LSU defense, it's not just
- 26:27Speaker 2: what they've done as far as keeping teams off the scoreboard.
- 26:30Speaker 2: They are not allowing teams to run. They are certainly
- 26:33Speaker 2: winning on first down, which has been a big recipe
- 26:36Speaker 2: for success for them. They've created a ton of negative plays,
- 26:39Speaker 2: top five in tackles for loss, number one in sacks,
- 26:42Speaker 2: getting off the field on third down, opponents averaging 142 yards,
- 26:46Speaker 2: only 18 rushing yards per game, and only 14% on
- 26:48Speaker 2: third downs. This certainly... is an LSU defense that is dominant.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It is imposing their will right now on their opponents,
- 27:01Speaker 2: and they are going to have what could end up
- 27:03Speaker 2: being their biggest challenge of the year. We don't know.
- 27:06Speaker 2: It's week three, but they're up for the challenge. And
- 27:09Speaker 2: for all the reasons Matt just said, I'm excited about
- 27:11Speaker 2: this matchup. And if you're an LSU defender, and if
- 27:16Speaker 2: people haven't fully given themselves over to you being a
- 27:19Speaker 2: top defense in the country, this is how you go
- 27:22Speaker 2: prove to everybody watching you That it wasn't just because
- 27:26Speaker 2: of the opponents that you played. That's just who you're
- 27:29Speaker 2: going to be. That is the standard that you're going
- 27:31Speaker 2: to set. Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 4: And I don't care if their quarterback is four or
- 27:36Speaker 4: five years younger than Lamar Jackson. That doesn't matter. That
- 27:40Speaker 4: doesn't matter to me. I don't care that he's that old.
- 27:42Speaker 4: I don't care that it's his sixth year. But you
- 27:44Speaker 4: know what? He's not playing. To this point, I hadn't
- 27:50Speaker 4: seen any, like, a step up in his game from
- 27:53Speaker 4: last year.
- 27:54Speaker 3: If anything, he hasn't played as well yet in the season.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I say yet because I think he's really good, and
- 28:00Speaker 4: I gave him a lot of flowers before the season,
- 28:02Speaker 4: but this is LSU Ole Miss week. He hadn't played
- 28:04Speaker 4: near as well as he did in the playoffs last
- 28:07Speaker 4: year where he played like Superman in the playoffs last year.
- 28:10Speaker 4: He had one drive away, one play away from going
- 28:13Speaker 4: to the national championship last year. He hadn't played to
- 28:15Speaker 4: that level, and this is not the week where he
- 28:18Speaker 4: is going to automatically step up and get back to
- 28:20Speaker 4: that level. This is not the defense to do it against.
- 28:22Speaker 2: It's going to be a long night for you, Mr.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Chambliss.
- 28:25Speaker 2: All right, we will step away. We've got more OTB
- 28:28Speaker 2: coming your way live from Rouse's here on Burbank and Lee.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Off the bench. All right, for more than a century,
- 28:38Speaker 2: First American Bank and Trust has been helping Louisiana families
- 28:41Speaker 2: and businesses reach their financial goals. Whether you need personal
- 28:46Speaker 2: or business banking, a mortgage, commercial loan, or convenient mobile banking,
- 28:51Speaker 2: you'll get modern services with the personal attention of a
- 28:54Speaker 2: hometown bank. Find the location or open a checking or
- 28:57Speaker 2: savings account online today at fabt.com. That is First American
- 29:03Speaker 2: Bank and Trust, a banking tradition online. Since 1910. That's right.
- 29:06Speaker 4: They've been in Louisiana a long time.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Guess what, Jake?
- 29:09Speaker 4: They were in year three of doing business when the
- 29:11Speaker 4: Titanic went down.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Whoa. Can you believe that?
- 29:14Speaker 3: Just look that up.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Year three? Year three of business. They were pretty new.
- 29:17Speaker 4: They were already giving out mortgages. They were giving out loans.
- 29:20Speaker 4: They were working with people, helping people here in Louisiana
- 29:22Speaker 4: when that Titanic sunk. So they've been doing it a
- 29:24Speaker 4: long time. First American Banking Trust, great people. Great branches
- 29:29Speaker 4: over there. Go in, shake the hand, look at the
- 29:31Speaker 4: person in the eye that's going to be the decision
- 29:32Speaker 4: maker on your loans, whether it's commercial, mortgage, personal loans,
- 29:36Speaker 4: whatever it is. Not somebody in New York City or
- 29:38Speaker 4: over there on the left coast. They are the best.
- 29:39Speaker 4: First American Bank and Trust, FABT.com.
- 29:54Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 29:56Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Welcome back in.
- 30:03Speaker 2: OTB here live from Rouse's on Burbank and Lee. Jake
- 30:09Speaker 2: Flynn and Moose. Here at Rouse's. Alondra and Tay-Tay back
- 30:16Speaker 2: in studio in downtown Baton Rouge in the capital city.
- 30:20Speaker 2: What's the word of the broadcast going to be?
- 30:23Speaker 3: Word of the broadcast.
- 30:26Speaker 2: In week number one, we got capital city in. Collegiate.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I don't know that I can do that one. Week
- 30:31Speaker 2: number two, we got a me thinks. Me thinks Sam
- 30:34Speaker 2: Levitt's going to be the starting quarterback. Probably should have
- 30:36Speaker 2: saved that one for this week.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Somebody gave a really good suggestion earlier in the week
- 30:39Speaker 3: in a chat.
- 30:40Speaker 4: I can't remember.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Proclivity?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Proclivity would be good.
- 30:43Speaker 2: I think Alondra mentioned that one. That'd be a good one. Okay,
- 30:46Speaker 2: we'll see if we can get it done. Chat, you
- 30:48Speaker 2: can get involved in this too. Give me a word
- 30:51Speaker 2: that I've got to say into the broadcast. It has
- 30:53Speaker 2: to be a real word. It can't be a word
- 30:55Speaker 2: like Flynn made up yesterday trying to say collegiate.
- 30:57Speaker 4: It's got to be a real word. I think I'm
- 31:00Speaker 4: going to struggle with that one for the rest of
- 31:01Speaker 4: my life. I mean, it's just now there is a
- 31:04Speaker 4: mental block.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Effortlessly, I told you. Sometimes, like, I got to slow
- 31:07Speaker 2: that one down. It's a lot of different syllables and, like,
- 31:10Speaker 2: you know. So I get it. I mean, it's an
- 31:13Speaker 2: easy word to say. Yeah. I mean, kind of. You
- 31:15Speaker 2: just got to slow it down. Kind of. It's not
- 31:17Speaker 2: very effortlessly said. I know. Yeah. You nailed that. You
- 31:25Speaker 2: know what?
- 31:26Speaker 3: I hate that word. I now hate that word. I
- 31:29Speaker 3: hate it more than.
- 31:30Speaker 2: What, collegiate? Yeah.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I hate collegiate.
- 31:34Speaker 4: I hate that word more than Trinidad Chambliss hates the NFL.
- 31:39Speaker 2: And that's a lot. Man. You good? No, man. It's
- 31:45Speaker 2: been a rough 24 hours.
- 31:46Speaker 3: It's been real rough.
- 31:50Speaker 4: But for real, though, yesterday when we went to the
- 31:54Speaker 4: Dunham game, no less than 25 people came up to
- 31:58Speaker 4: me and were like, hey. How about the team we're playing, huh?
- 32:03Speaker 4: Just a little smirk on their face. I was like, yeah, yeah,
- 32:06Speaker 4: you know, I'm just an idiot.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, I probably didn't help when I posted
- 32:11Speaker 2: about it last night.
- 32:12Speaker 4: No, it's fine, honestly.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I put the final score and said the game of
- 32:16Speaker 2: the week for our boy Matt Flynn. It had him
- 32:18Speaker 2: in a blender this morning. Yep.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and I took a picture, sent it to the
- 32:22Speaker 4: group chat. I told you they had really nice uniforms. Collegiate,
- 32:27Speaker 4: right there.
- 32:27Speaker 2: See there?
- 32:28Speaker 3: Nailed that word.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Should I tell you that.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I'll say it really fast just in case, though.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Should I tell you that three people mentioned it at
- 32:34Speaker 2: the U-Hot Plaquemine game, too? I mean....
- 32:39Speaker 3: The pronunciation heard around the world.
- 32:41Speaker 2: They said, was he for real? I go, you know him?
- 32:45Speaker 3: This is what it was. I was actually, you know...
- 32:47Speaker 3: It's all right.
- 32:48Speaker 2: It's all right. Look, I mess up words all the time.
- 32:52Speaker 2: All the time.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Relax.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Don't patronize me. No, I don't. You know I do.
- 32:56Speaker 2: You're with me every day. I mess up words. It's true. Now...
- 32:59Speaker 2: To that extent, maybe not. Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 4: I mean, honestly, if I got to be honest with you,
- 33:03Speaker 4: hand in the air, I went into pronouncing that word. Like,
- 33:07Speaker 4: I'm going to kind of say it weird because, like,
- 33:09Speaker 4: kind of like I'll say arc, kind of like to
- 33:11Speaker 4: sound like disrespect.
- 33:12Speaker 3: That's against my.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Team, whatever.
- 33:15Speaker 4: But then, like, my brain got into a blender, and
- 33:17Speaker 4: I was like, nope, this is going to really come
- 33:18Speaker 4: out bad.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Once that happens, it happens to me all the time,
- 33:24Speaker 2: you're done. I was done.
- 33:25Speaker 4: So I just stopped talking. I couldn't fix it.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Good stuff. Hey, go check out Eye in the Sky podcast.
- 33:33Speaker 2: You definitely need to do that. And, yes, UHI did
- 33:35Speaker 2: beat Plaquemine 31-21. Good high school football game for ammo
- 33:39Speaker 2: there in the chat. Yeah, Eye in the Sky. So
- 33:42Speaker 2: search on YouTube Eye in the Sky with Hester and Flynn.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I think it's the way that you can search it,
- 33:47Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken. And Matt does a great job
- 33:50Speaker 2: of breaking down the Ole Miss offense. And we talk
- 33:53Speaker 2: a little bit protections. We talk a little quarterback run.
- 33:56Speaker 2: route concepts and what Ole Miss is trying to do offensively.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And hopefully you get a better understanding of what Ole
- 34:02Speaker 2: Miss is offensively before the matchup. And so, you know, look,
- 34:06Speaker 2: you could be the smartest guy at the water cooler, right?
- 34:08Speaker 2: That's what we're trying to get done. And so you
- 34:10Speaker 2: can talk a little football. And Matt's got new tools.
- 34:13Speaker 2: So we had a telestrator here on this one. I
- 34:16Speaker 2: had fancy little vision graphic for the quarterback.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Those tools are going to improve. You know, I downloaded
- 34:22Speaker 4: the app, you know, the night before. Didn't have a
- 34:26Speaker 4: lot of chance to customize them, play with them.
- 34:28Speaker 2: But we'll be ready.
- 34:29Speaker 3: It's going to improve every single episode. Make sure you subscribe.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yep. Like it.
- 34:34Speaker 3: It all helps.
- 34:35Speaker 2: It does.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Helps the algorithm.
- 34:37Speaker 2: And it helps us make, you know, continue to make
- 34:41Speaker 2: it and try to spend more monies on making it better.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Because Matt's in the hole.
- 34:46Speaker 4: $ 89.
- 34:46Speaker 2: At least.
- 34:47Speaker 3: We got.
- 34:49Speaker 2: A couple apps. The first app. A couple finger pointers.
- 34:52Speaker 3: First app we paid for. Can't use that anymore. I
- 34:56Speaker 3: got smoked. It was $ 8, too.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Probably wouldn't be great if it was $ 8. Well, I mean,
- 35:06Speaker 2: that remote, though.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I can't use that anymore.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I was $ 30. We got a couple of votes here
- 35:12Speaker 2: inside the chat. Maybe shenanigans is on the list for words.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I can easily get shenanigans in there.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Yeah, someone made a great point here. Maybe myhigh, dreamhigh.com
- 35:22Speaker 4: should be your words. I'm just saying.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Now, I know there's an official sponsor for the LSU
- 35:30Speaker 2: Sports Radio Network, but I also know that my friendship
- 35:32Speaker 2: means more than that sponsorship. Boom. That's what I'm talking about.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I'll get my high in there, Bo. I said your
- 35:37Speaker 2: name twice last week on the broadcast. Because of the
- 35:39Speaker 2: interception thing? Cool. Thanks, bro. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
- 35:42Speaker 2: That was just once. No, I didn't do that either.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I thought you did. No, I said it was mentioned
- 35:47Speaker 2: on the broadcast. The TV. The TV.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Television broadcast.
- 35:52Speaker 2: We would not do that to you. I mentioned your
- 35:54Speaker 2: name because you called them Purple Jersey Games. Ah, yes.
- 35:57Speaker 2: And then I forget what the other one was. But, yeah, twice.
- 36:00Speaker 4: I don't like them. And, again, what a troll job
- 36:04Speaker 4: that would be if Ole Miss said we're going to
- 36:06Speaker 4: wear white. Yeah, they missed the opportunity on that.
- 36:09Speaker 2: They did.
- 36:09Speaker 3: They missed a big opportunity. That would have been such
- 36:12Speaker 3: a good troll.
- 36:12Speaker 2: They're powder blue helmet jersey white pants.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Okay, that's a good combo.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It's a good combo. I enjoy that combo. Moose, is
- 36:19Speaker 2: that what they wore last year in this matchup too, right?
- 36:22Speaker 2: Powder blue, powder blue, white, Ole Miss? Yes. Yep.
- 36:29Speaker 4: That's a good combination. Got to give respect to that.
- 36:31Speaker 4: It's all right.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Whatever. I'm a big fan of the helmet being a
- 36:37Speaker 2: different color than the jersey unless it's all white.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Like a little contrast.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I do.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Like pop, pop, pop.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I don't really care what they're wearing.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Well, their jerseys are going to be different colors in
- 36:54Speaker 4: the second half because LSU is going to beat them
- 36:56Speaker 4: up so bad.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Oh, you could have been much better. I know.
- 36:58Speaker 3: That's weak.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I gave you, like, dramatic pause, and you did nothing
- 37:01Speaker 2: with it.
- 37:04Speaker 3: It's kind of sad.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I hope you aren't hungry because breakfast bar has been
- 37:09Speaker 4: pretty picked through.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Somebody had a long night. Thursday night was the night
- 37:15Speaker 2: to go out in college, right? I mean, it's a
- 37:19Speaker 2: big night. Yeah. It's a big night. For us, it
- 37:21Speaker 2: was Wednesday because we had GAs that would be out
- 37:27Speaker 2: on Thursday night. Wednesday was a pretty good day. Wednesday
- 37:30Speaker 2: was a night that we all went out. Thursday, the
- 37:32Speaker 2: coaches would be out to see if we were going out,
- 37:35Speaker 2: so we couldn't go out as much. You had to
- 37:37Speaker 2: be very careful in what you were doing there. But
- 37:39Speaker 2: I feel like Thursday.
- 37:40Speaker 3: 48-hour rule.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I mean, you're a gym pop student. Thursday night, Thursday night,
- 37:44Speaker 2: big night to go out in college back in the day?
- 37:46Speaker 2: Or was it Wednesday? Wednesday. Monday. Oh, Monday. Monday's good
- 37:51Speaker 2: for y'all. Monday's are big. Yeah. He just said, like,
- 37:55Speaker 2: every day. Basically, he's like, oh, Monday or Thursday's good.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Wednesday wasn't bad either, you know. My whole point was
- 38:02Speaker 2: Sunday wasn't bad either. You know, look, when you had
- 38:03Speaker 2: a long night, like, what's better than a breakfast bar?
- 38:06Speaker 2: All right. You know what I'm saying? Kind of soak
- 38:07Speaker 2: it up a little bit. That's true. It's pretty good.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Pretty good. All right.
- 38:11Speaker 4: What time y'all fly out today? 2, 2, 2.30.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Y'all still get Chick-fil-A sandwiches on the. On the plane seat. Oh, yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Let's look at the bag with, like, the electrolyte beverage
- 38:25Speaker 2: in the water. And, yeah, same thing. It's the same
- 38:29Speaker 2: thing that we had 20 years ago. Had they figured
- 38:31Speaker 2: out how to keep the sandwich warmer than they used to?
- 38:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:34Speaker 2: It used to be kind of cold. It used to
- 38:36Speaker 2: be a hockey puck burger. It's not that anymore. Yeah.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that was, so the only time I ever got,
- 38:43Speaker 4: so when we went to the Peach Bowl. In 05,
- 38:46Speaker 4: the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. I ate so many sandwiches and
- 38:50Speaker 4: biscuits that week. Because you remember, they had ice chests
- 38:53Speaker 4: full of sandwiches all over the place, all over the hotel.
- 38:56Speaker 4: By the weight room, do you remember that? By the
- 38:57Speaker 4: weight room, by everywhere. I had so many. I didn't
- 38:59Speaker 4: have Chick-fil-A for like.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Five years after that game.
- 39:01Speaker 2: I know, it was tough. It was tough.
- 39:03Speaker 4: But then once I came back to it, I was like, yep,
- 39:06Speaker 4: I'm going to stay here. I just can't have cold
- 39:08Speaker 4: sandwiches and biscuits about 13 times a day for a
- 39:12Speaker 4: whole week.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Right. I'll never forget the makeshift weight room that Moffat
- 39:16Speaker 2: made in the Atlanta hotel. It was actually a pretty
- 39:18Speaker 2: good weight room that they made. Yeah. I guess they
- 39:20Speaker 2: drove everything over, and it was a huge, like a
- 39:23Speaker 2: crawfish boil-sized ice chest with Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
- 39:27Speaker 4: I just remember from that week at the weight room. room,
- 39:31Speaker 4: and I've told this story before, but it's one of
- 39:33Speaker 4: my favorite stories. I was getting my first start. Marcus
- 39:38Speaker 4: was not there that week. And we had the big,
- 39:41Speaker 4: you know how you have the bowl game. Everyone gets
- 39:42Speaker 4: in their seats. Both teams show up. It's the big,
- 39:46Speaker 4: everyone comes in their seats.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 4: LSU's on one side, Miami's on the other side, and
- 39:51Speaker 4: people talk. It's like the big Peach Bowl gala or
- 39:53Speaker 4: whatever you want to call it. And it was at
- 39:55Speaker 4: our hotel. And to get to it, they had to
- 39:57Speaker 4: walk by kind of where we had our meeting rooms
- 40:00Speaker 4: and by our weight room that Miami Hurricanes did. And
- 40:04Speaker 4: we had a strength coach that was, you know, he
- 40:06Speaker 4: was about my height of Caucasian descent. And he was
- 40:09Speaker 4: in there doing, like, power snatches for, like, 400 pounds.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. And Moffitt was sitting in front of him.
- 40:15Speaker 2: And he was doing them.
- 40:16Speaker 4: They made sure to do it while the Miami Hurricane
- 40:18Speaker 4: team was walking out.
- 40:19Speaker 2: So they were walking by the weight room. And Moffitt
- 40:22Speaker 2: was running around going... Yeah, Matt Flynn, get it up.
- 40:27Speaker 4: And the guy was doing snatches like 400 pounds, and
- 40:29Speaker 4: he's yelling and trying to make them think that was
- 40:32Speaker 4: me doing the snatches.
- 40:34Speaker 2: And that was a good– He kind of played like it.
- 40:36Speaker 2: They were scared. MVP. They were scared. If I'm not mistaken.
- 40:40Speaker 4: That's why they didn't want to tackle me as far
- 40:42Speaker 4: because they knew I could power snatch 400 pounds.
- 40:45Speaker 2: No doubt about it. I also remember, I'm not going
- 40:47Speaker 2: to say names, there was a running back on the
- 40:49Speaker 2: roster at the time that, Tried to walk away with
- 40:52Speaker 2: four Chick-fil-A sandwiches, and Moffitt undressed him because he had
- 40:56Speaker 2: a weight issue. He was trying to walk away with
- 40:58Speaker 2: four Chick-fil-A sandwiches from the ice chest that was by
- 41:01Speaker 2: the weight room. He would have given me four because
- 41:05Speaker 2: he always talked about I needed to gain weight.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you're a little fella.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 41:11Speaker 3: How many do you think he got away with?
- 41:12Speaker 2: Two? The running back? Yeah. He didn't get away with it.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Moffitt made him put them all back. Oh, no. Don't worry.
- 41:19Speaker 2: There's another ice chest. There's an ice chest right around
- 41:21Speaker 2: the corner that Moffitt didn't see. Don't worry. All right.
- 41:24Speaker 2: We'll take a break. Let's talk a little Saints and
- 41:26Speaker 2: Ravens when we come back here on OTB Live from Ross's.

- 43:08Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers. This is Off the Bench.
- 43:12Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in. OTB here live from Ross's
- 43:19Speaker 2: on Burbank and Lee. Always good to see some Listeners,
- 43:24Speaker 2: have a conversation with them. See them get all of
- 43:27Speaker 2: their stuff ready for their watch party. Also, grab a
- 43:29Speaker 2: little MyHi. You can come in here, as you see
- 43:32Speaker 2: in front of Matt Flynn. He's got a bunch of
- 43:34Speaker 2: different flavors there. I am definitely stealing one of those
- 43:37Speaker 2: and making him pay for it as I go to Oxford, Mississippi.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You've got to stay hydrated, right, Matt?
- 43:43Speaker 3: No, you can't steal it.
- 43:45Speaker 2: That's illegal. Did it last year, going to do it
- 43:47Speaker 2: again this year and tell them to charge Matt Flynn.
- 43:49Speaker 3: That is literally illegal.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well, only if you get caught.
- 43:54Speaker 4: No, no, it's illegal whether you get caught or not.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Is it? Is it? Is it? Saints and Baltimore Ravens
- 44:02Speaker 2: in Baltimore. Saints right now, seven and a half point dog.
- 44:05Speaker 2: It was an eight and a half point line. It is,
- 44:08Speaker 2: you know, going a little bit, a little bit in
- 44:10Speaker 2: favor of the Saints. I mean, still more than the touchdown,
- 44:12Speaker 2: but Baltimore Ravens played really good last week against the Colts.
- 44:16Speaker 2: The Saints fell just short on the road against the
- 44:19Speaker 2: Detroit Lions. A second tough road game for the Saints now.
- 44:23Speaker 2: The injury report for this one is going to be important.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Zay Flowers is somebody that had a huge first half
- 44:30Speaker 2: a week ago. He is still questionable for this game.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Trey Hendrickson is also questionable for this game. Doesn't mean
- 44:38Speaker 2: they're not going to play, but they are questionable. I
- 44:40Speaker 2: think the latest on Hendrickson, he did not participate at
- 44:46Speaker 2: practice on Thursday. Zay Flowers did not participate yesterday. In
- 44:52Speaker 2: practice on Thursday. Thursday's usually a big day in the NFL.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Thursday's a good after day. We talked about that in length.
- 44:57Speaker 2: We'll need to kind of revisit that from yesterday.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Thursday's like Sam missing Wednesday practice in college.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Right. It's a day later. Yes. So if Zay Flowers
- 45:05Speaker 2: doesn't play, Trey Hendrickson doesn't play. Okay. I mean, Ronnie
- 45:11Speaker 2: Stanley didn't practice either. Their offensive tackle.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Hey, I like where we're at.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Good situations for the Saints.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Look, you've got to be lucky a little bit in
- 45:20Speaker 4: the NFL sometimes. You've got to take advantage of that luck. So, certainly,
- 45:24Speaker 4: wasn't able to take advantage of it last week with
- 45:27Speaker 4: two safeties being out.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Now, you did well. You did. You threw for 400.
- 45:30Speaker 2: It just didn't matter.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Now, if you can somehow go into a game with
- 45:34Speaker 4: the Ravens where they're not having their number one pass
- 45:37Speaker 4: rusher and number one receiver, that certainly bodes well for
- 45:40Speaker 4: you because it's a long season. These guys are going
- 45:42Speaker 4: to be out. There's going to be stars that miss,
- 45:43Speaker 4: and If it happens to fall on the week, you
- 45:46Speaker 4: can't be apologetic about that. You've got to go out
- 45:48Speaker 4: and take advantage of it. Wins are hard to get
- 45:50Speaker 4: in the NFL. So if you get a break, you
- 45:53Speaker 4: have to take advantage of it.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Yeah, for the Saints injury report, Chase Young, Cam Jordan,
- 45:59Speaker 2: Oscar Delp, and Jawan Johnson, all questionable, but they were
- 46:02Speaker 2: limited participants in practice on Thursday. So they did give
- 46:06Speaker 2: it a go. They were out there. Chris Alave. Departed
- 46:09Speaker 2: Thursday's practice early as a precaution, but isn't expected to
- 46:13Speaker 2: impact his ability to play, according to our guy Nick
- 46:15Speaker 2: Underhill of New Orleans.football. So a chance for the Saints'
- 46:20Speaker 2: questionable players to play as they at least gave it
- 46:22Speaker 2: a go in practice. The Baltimore Ravens certainly look like
- 46:25Speaker 2: they're going to be without some of their biggest weapons
- 46:27Speaker 2: on offense and defense, according to the injury report. All right,
- 46:30Speaker 2: we've got our number three of OTB coming right back

- 48:54Speaker 2: Is it? Is it? Saints and Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Saints right now, 7.5-point dog. It was an 8.5-point line.
- 49:04Speaker 2: It is, you know, going a little bit in favor

- 49:16Speaker 2: Detroit Lions. A second tough road game for the Saints. Now,
- 49:20Speaker 2: the injury report for this one is going to be important.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Zay Flowers is somebody that had a huge first half
- 49:27Speaker 2: a week ago. He is still questionable for this game.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Trey Hendrickson is also questionable for this game. Doesn't mean
- 49:35Speaker 2: they're not going to play, but they are questionable. I
- 49:37Speaker 2: think the latest on Hendrickson He did not participate at
- 49:43Speaker 2: practice on Thursday. Zay Flowers did not participate in practice
- 49:49Speaker 2: on Thursday. Thursday is usually a big day in the NFL.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Thursday is a good after day. We talked about that
- 49:53Speaker 2: in length. We'll need to kind of revisit that from yesterday.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Thursday is like Sam missing Wednesday practice in college. Right.
- 49:59Speaker 2: It's a day later. Yes. So if Zay Flowers doesn't play,
- 50:04Speaker 2: Trey Hendrickson doesn't play. Okay. I mean, Ronnie Stanley didn't
- 50:09Speaker 2: practice either. Their offensive tackle. Hey, I like where we're at.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Good situations for the Saints.
- 50:15Speaker 4: Look, you got to be lucky a little bit in
- 50:17Speaker 4: the NFL sometimes. You got to take advantage of that luck.
- 50:20Speaker 2: So, certainly.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Wasn't able to take advantage of it last week with
- 50:24Speaker 4: two safeties being out.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Well, it did. It just didn't matter.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Now, if you can somehow go into a game with
- 50:31Speaker 4: the Ravens where they're not having their number one pass
- 50:34Speaker 4: rusher and number one receiver, that certainly bodes well for
- 50:37Speaker 4: you because it's a long season. These guys are going
- 50:39Speaker 4: to be out. There's going to be stars that miss
- 50:40Speaker 4: and If it happens to fall on the week, you
- 50:43Speaker 4: can't be apologetic about that. You've got to go out
- 50:45Speaker 4: and take advantage of it. Wins are hard to get
- 50:47Speaker 4: in the NFL. So if you get a break, you have.
- 50:50Speaker 2: To take advantage of it. Yeah, for the Saints injury report,
- 50:53Speaker 2: Chase Young, Cam Jordan, Oscar Delp, and Jawan Johnson, all questionable,
- 50:58Speaker 2: but they were limited participants in practice on Thursday. So
- 51:02Speaker 2: they did give it a go. They were out there.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Chris Alave. Departed Thursday's practice early as a precaution, but
- 51:09Speaker 2: isn't expected to impact his ability to play, according to
- 51:11Speaker 2: our guy Nick Underhill of New Orleans.football. So a chance
- 51:16Speaker 2: for the Saints' questionable players to play as they at
- 51:18Speaker 2: least gave it a go in practice. The Baltimore Ravens
- 51:21Speaker 2: certainly look like they're going to be without some of
- 51:23Speaker 2: their biggest weapons on offense and defense, according to the
- 51:26Speaker 2: injury report. All right, we've got our number three of
