Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: The average story I hear is that people are sick for way too long, you know, anywhere from a few years to even decades.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: And then by the time they get, you know, on the right track, it still takes them too long to heal, right?
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: You know, with just our, you know, can like functional medicine and naturopathic medicines, it's still like quite a um, you know, marathon.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: And, you know, I admire my patients' um courage, their desire to get better, and their willingness to do what it takes, right?
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Um, but my curiosity is like, okay, well, you know, wow, like can we make this faster for anyone?
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: And that really tuned me into this whole realm of what we call biophysics.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: And biophysics is this idea that we are these really beautiful humans that don't just run on biochemical reactions.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: There are all of these um physical, like in the words of physics and biochemistry, there are all these um physics applications to the human body.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: So electromagnetism, biophotonic energy, uh sound, um, just all of these different interactions that the human body communicates with.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: And if we kind of turn and tune into that more and more, that I believe really is kind of where the blueprint lies for healing.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: And if we can kind of touch those aspects of ourselves, the biochemistry falls in place.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Hello, welcome to Beyond Labels.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I'm Dr.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Steena McCullough here with my co-host, Joel Salatin, our favorite farmer.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And today we have a very special guest, Dr.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Christine Schaffner.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: She is a board-certified naturopathic physician who has dedicated her career to helping patients recover from chronic complex illnesses through her online summits, her spectrum of health podcasts, Eminence Health Clinic, and a digital program and multiple courses.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Dr.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Schaffner goes beyond biological medicine, pulling from all systems of medicine and healing modalities, helping patients unlock their innate ability to heal and reveal their brightest selves and brightest light.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for being on the show, Dr.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Schaffner.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: How are you?
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's so good to be with you both.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: I had such a great time meeting you both at Polyface, and I'm so glad we get to stay in touch in this way.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm so now um for those who don't know, Dr.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Schaffner, she is um a leading expert in coherence.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: And in fact, she has this online summit coming up called The Art and Science of Cultivating Coherence Summit.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: It is free.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Like I said, it's online, so you can view it from the convenience of your own home.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: It's um October 30th through November 5th.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna provide a link in the show description.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: But I want to start here.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: What is coherence and why should we care about it?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Why is it important?
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: And I'll take a step back just to give people like a little context and happily give you the definitions.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: So, as you mentioned in my bio, you know, I see people from really, you know, I feel really blessed all over the country, all over the world.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: And I'm not like patients first stop, right?
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: They've seen a lot of doctors, they're often going in the conventional system and then really, you know, opening their mind to what healing looks like because they're not finding answers.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: And the kind of the average story I hear is that people are sick for way too long, you know, anywhere from a few years to even decades.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: And then by the time they get, you know, on the right track, it still takes them too long to heal, right?
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: You know, with just our, you know, can like functional medicine and naturopathic medicines, it's still like quite a um, you know, marathon.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: And, you know, I admire my patients' um courage, their desire to get better, and their willingness to do what it takes, right?
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: Um, but my curiosity is like, okay, well, you know, wow, like can we make this faster for anyone?
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: And that really tuned me into this whole realm of what we call biophysics.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: And biophysics is this idea that we are these really beautiful humans that don't just run on biochemical reactions.
- 4:28SPEAKER_02: There are all of these um physical, like in the words of physics and biochemistry, there are all these um physics applications to the human bodies.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: So electromagnetism, biophotonic energy, uh sound, um just all of these different interactions that the human body communicates with.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: And if we kind of turn and tune into that more and more, that I believe really is kind of where the blueprint lies for healing.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: And if we can kind of touch those aspects of ourselves, the biochemistry falls in place.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: And this potentially offers a more elegant and streamlined and accelerated path uh for healing.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: So I just want to give that context.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, I did a couple summits on the what I call the body electric um from Dr.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: Becker's book and really just opened my mind.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: I you know, I had a couple hundred thousand um participants over the course of those two, two and a half summits that I did.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: Um, and I learned a lot.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: I always learn, right?
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: You know, like you get to interview hundreds of people.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: Of course, you're learning, and I bring that back into my practice.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And the more you learn about what we're trying to talk about, there's this principle that just comes up.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: And I read quantum physics papers, I read these books, I interview people, and this concept is um around coherence, is always, you know, in kind of like the the punchline, right?
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: So I wanted to try to make this accessible to people because I think on one level, this concept that I'm gonna share is really how we're wired to heal.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: So I brought in Dr.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Roland McCrady.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: We can't have this conversation without him because he is the director of research at Heart Matt.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: He's a brilliant mind who really has studied the physiology of the heart and the electromagnetic nature of the heart and how the heart really is um more um there, there's more information coming from our heart to our brain than our brain to our heart.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: I think that's always like I love saying that because I think that's an aha moment for people.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: And our heart really is the great conductor of our body, our brain, and our field.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: And he really developed this understanding and educates this idea around heart-brain coherence.
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: So we can start there.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: So coherence just from um definition is when there is alignment, there is this um uninterrupted flow of information, there is this harmonious synchronization and coordinated communication within us.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: Um, I think coherence can be applied to the communication between the heart and the brain.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: I think it can be described as the communication when the body is in health and there is a flow of information and energy that is not blocked and there's not obstacles.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, basically turning us away from this um kind of innate intelligence that is driving our bodies.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: It's also alignment with these other parts of us that we don't talk about.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: So um Dr.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: McCrady talks about um this idea of heart intelligence, and you know, basically our heart is a portal to our higher self, whatever that means.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: So when we're in these coherent states, we have easier communication with your higher self.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: Again, whatever background or whatever religion or whatever your spiritual inclinations are, there's a there's still a conversation here for you for wherever you sit there.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: And I also think, you know, I was always taught that we have more than our physical body, we have our physical body, and then we have our electrical body, we have our emotional and mental and spiritual bodies.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: And when we're like in alignment with who we really are, and we're more connected to something called the field, the zero point field, the unified field, the quantum vacuum.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: Um, we can also just be more in tune with why we're here on earth.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: We can also access that energy if we're sick to help us heal.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: So that's a layered, very layered, you know, response.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: But I just wanted to give you context and we can go wherever you want with that, Cena.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: But I just um I'm really excited because I think, you know, there's a lot of illness out there.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: And at the the core of what illness is, is when there's isolated compartmentalization in the body that's not communicating with the rest of the body, uh, where entropy increases, so more disorder and chaos.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: Uh, we know even what there's senescent cells that go rogue and they don't talk to the rest of the body.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: Um, cancer, right, is a great expression and example of, you know, when there is not coherence in the body.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: So I believe that um when people just kind of tune into this, I don't know about you, but every time I just even try to understand this more deeply, every time I talk about it, there's just like a sense of knowing, like that is like how we're wired to connect and heal.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: And there's so many things in life, especially in modern life, that try to take us out of that state.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: So it's really a it we call it the it's a practice, it's a cultivation, it's an intention, it's it's modern life does not want you to live in coherence.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: You know, so we it's almost like the great rebellion to live in coherence right now.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: You know, that's that's such a such an interesting uh uh thought there of of um what are the what are the what are like three greatest um uh attacks uh in the average person's life uh against coherence.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: I mean I I think if if if we if I know if I know what what is um making me dysfunctional, um then I can I can try to arrest it, change it, whatever.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a great point.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: Um I'll start with our emotional state, right?
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: That is something that um we all have control of, um, even though we might not feel like we do at times, right?
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: But we do.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: We we have free will, we're conscious beings with great intent and practice and support if you need it.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: Um you can, you can be mindful of your emotions.
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: So what Dr.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: McCrady's research showed is that when we are in a state of coherence, we can generate that ourselves, especially when we're in um, you know, emotional states of love, appreciation, gratitude.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: We have this beautiful uh sine wave, coherent rhythm that we're generating electromagnetically from our heart that helps to organize the rest of our body.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: When we are in states of frustration, anxiety, worry, depression, when we're out of sync, right?
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: And not to say you you have to feel those feelings, we're human, but if we stay stuck in those states, we send very disordered information out into the field around us.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: It's disorganized for our brain, and it's disorganized for our body.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: So we know we don't feel good, right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: When we're in the we we move through them, but if we stay in that state, you start to feel sick, right?
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: So your emotional state, and we can talk more about cultivating practices, is number one.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: Um, I'll kind of like just jump into kind of one that I think is really number two.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: Um, I I probably could go a lot of different directions with the order things, but just for the purposes of like our community and who we're talking to, I mentioned before we went online, I think there is this um kind of interference from especially the herbicide roundup and the active ingredient glyphosate.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Um, glyphosate glyphosate affects so many systems in the human body.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: And when we're looking from like the field interactions and the biophysics of the body, um, there is a lot of information and great thought leaders who come before us, um, Dr.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Jean-Claude Gumberto and Mae Wan Ho, um, who really look at the fascia, um, fascial network.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: So fascia is an umbrella term to describe that connective tissue and that web or that architecture of what's holding us together.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: But it's not just a structural function, it is this brilliant communication network.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: So when I talk about um a flow of communication that might be even faster than our nervous system, we tune to the fascia and we try to understand that.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: And Mae Won Ho was a big um proponent of looking at the fascia in this way.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: And she talked about how electrons and protons and photons and phonons flow within this network.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: So when we're talking about these states that are cultivated, I believe the fascia helps to communicate that throughout the body as well as the nervous system.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: But I think the fascia's role is way more than we realize at this time.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: So glyphosate is a glycine analog, right?
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: There's many reasons why it's sinister and it impacts us.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Um but when we think about collagen, which is the most abundant protein in the human body and what makes a lot of this mesh network in the body.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: Um, if glyphosate becomes um part of this amino acid, it basically it mimics glycine.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: So if it becomes embedded where glycine should be, we start having glyphosate in our fossil network.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: And so that's not going to be a coherent line of communication in this network.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be the body's gonna like it's gonna be a speed bump, and then it's gonna be more than that the more glyphosate you have in your body.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: So I think um, I do think glyphosate.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: Um, I just have that kind of one lens, but I think there are many other um kind of lenses to look at that.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Um, and I I I would say the next part is that people don't go out in nature enough, right?
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: And so I think that we experience a lot of coherence when we're in the elements, when we're breathing fresh air, when we're in the full spectrum of you know, the beauty of the sun and getting all of those you know wavelengths of light um, you know, in our bodies, when we have the opportunity to be outdoors and have our feet in the ground and getting those um electrons that can just help fuel um this informational exchange in the body.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: Um, I think nature reminds us what it feels like to be in coherence, um, even if we maybe didn't start our walk or our experience in nature, we we get in resonance with nature and nature, I believe, I mean, the the rhythm and cycles of nature could be described as coherent systems, right?
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: And so I think nature is a mirror and a reminder.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: And if we allow nature to bathe us in this remembrance, we experience that.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: And I don't think a lot of us get out.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: We'll we'll just stay indoors, and there's a lot of things indoors keeping us from um, you know, this experience.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: I hope I answered your question.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Oh, you those are those are three um three fantastic ones, and uh they they make me they make me really happy because I feel like I'm I'm doing pretty good on all three of them.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, right.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: And the people who you educate and teach, you know, they they're probably ahead of the curve, right?
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: You know, because they're doing what you've told them to do, right?
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, um, you know, it was interesting.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: We had a we had a visitor uh this weekend actually from um from North Carolina.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Uh he was up with his wife and he was 77 and uh he was a retired welder.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: So he was an iron worker, and he when he during his career, he smoked like a chimney, drank like a fish, and uh he's got he's got cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, uh COPD, all this.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: He was as hell, he was 77, he was bouncing around here healthy.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: I I mean, you know, he he looked the picture, and his wife said he doesn't believe he's sick.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and she's his his wife, his wife is a biochemist.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: She she she's you know really educated biochemist, and she just can't figure out why he's just bouncing off the walls with all these problems and doing so great because he he he doesn't he doesn't think he's sick.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: I couldn't help but think of all this wonderful energy emotional stuff that that we talk about.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: C and I talk about it, and you you uh corroborate it here with something like this that that just shows you know, with uh a lot can happen with with perp, purpose, gratitude, and delight.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's this really you know um complex physics that can describe all this, but when you get back, you when you get down to it, it's very simple.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: It's like these really beautiful, simplistic, um, but can be hard to do, um, you know, principles.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Like if you're more grateful than not grateful each day, if you approach each day, as you said, with purpose and passion and excitement, if your desire is to connect with another, like these things fuel us, and you can see why if you get caught up in the conventional kind of conveyor belt of medicine, there's so many, you know, um, kind of interventions that take you out of that state.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: And, you know, I think there's a lot of great people in conventional medicine.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: I think they're just really brought up in this kind of the opposite of coherence.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: That's how they're basically trained, you know, be strong and don't have emotion and don't give your patients false hope.
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: It's like all of that actually is if we leave that out of the healing equation, we really miss the boat.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: And that's what we're seeing.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Because, you know, we talk a lot on the show about perception, right?
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: And how we actually create our own reality.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: And we see that with this coherence, right?
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: With this topic of coherence, that your perception can bring you out of a state of coherence, or it can bring you into a state of coherence.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: You know, we think the stress, stress is an obvious one, right?
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Even the CDC acknowledges that stress leads to disease, right?
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Stress is involved, but also I want to tap a little further into what you mentioned.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: The, you know, the first item was this the emotional component.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: And then so what I have found, and I think if people take a moment and practice a little bit of awareness, like reflect back, this will probably resonate with them.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'd love for you to elaborate on it, that you can develop a lack of coherence from, for instance, not speaking your truth, right?
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Not using your voice and standing in your power, um, not creating healthy boundaries for yourself, right?
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: When your intuition is saying no, and you say yes anyway to that request from somebody because you are a people pleaser, right?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: That can bring incoherence.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Um, the feeling of not feeling loved, not feeling worthy, that brings incoherence, right?
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: I I think that's really beautiful.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: And I love that you're teaching people um how they can really their perception and their connection with reality.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: And one of the one of the things, the message here is right, we can generate these emotions, right?
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: And sometimes, you know, when life isn't actually mirroring like coherence out there, um, we still have an opportunity to um really consciously create another option for ourselves.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: And I think the hardest part of being human is sometimes like really getting into your heart and not just getting into your brain, what the how is this gonna happen?
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: What is that gonna like?
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: This is you know, crazy for me to even have these dreams, or like, why do I have this intuition?
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: You know, but if we actually make it a practice and part of our routine to like bathe in like really this heart space and these emotions that we can generate, we are participating in creating something different each day.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: And I I think it's it's challenging because it's it's it's hard to like completely ignore what's going on in your external environment.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: Go inward and generate that on your own and feel what it feels like to experience that without experiencing that.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: And that is a very, very powerful part in active creation.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Can you maybe give us an example, like walk us through um a practice we could do on a daily basis to help bring coherence and like to generate coherence within ourselves?
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: Um, we've kind of really touched on a lot of um, you know, different aspects, but I'll just make it um a routine.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: So again, if you're interested, of course, check out the summit, but also um there's a beautiful body of work within heartmath.org and heartmath.com that they, you know, I want to give credit where credit's due.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: They've really, you know, set this in motion.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: And just for you guys to get excited too, that they um really um have the science around how we're wired to heal in coherent states, how we're wired to connect with each other and our.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Hearts connect when we're in coherence together.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: And they're even studying how we get into coherence with Mother Earth and how Mother Earth responds to us.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: And so they they have the Global Coherence Initiative, which is really exciting.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: So I just want to give them a shout out because if you really want to go more deeply into this, you'll find a lot of resources.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: But let's just start with gratitude, right?
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: So again, if you have a gratitude practice, it is one of the most powerful things I think you can do to like start creating shifts within your uh personal reality, especially when things are not going your way, right?
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: You can easily look at like the half is um the glass is half empty, right?
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: You could think like, oh my God, all these things that didn't work out for me in a day.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: But the flip side, you could really look at all these wonderful things that did work out.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: There's a lot that works out for you in a day, right?
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: And finding those things that uh might seem small, but focusing on them.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: Um, like, oh wow, I had that random encounter with that friend in the you know grocery store, or you know, things that seem small in the moment, but are actually very beautiful events in your life.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: And so I I meditate every day.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: I've um I've had a lot go on in my last three years, especially.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: And meditation has been like a bedrock for me in the morning.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: And even if I can only do like 10-15 minutes in the morning, I I really do that.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: My daughter knows, like, even if I wake up and she she wakes up and I'm meditating and she knows she's got to keep herself busy until I'm done.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: And I'm trying to teach her too what it means.
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: So it's like I'm not trying to ignore her, but she knows mommy's meditating, right?
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: So in that meditation process, one of the first steps is obviously getting in touch with your breath.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: So the the breath is an immediate um way to just connect and calm your body down, get present, um, kind of let go of your stress, um, get more oxygen to your brain.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: There's almost so many benefits around breathing.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: And then you in order to get the ball rolling, you can just bring in like somebody or something or some experience that you can have just like so much gratitude for.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: So for me, I always bring my daughter in to my heart space because it's just so easy to like.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: I have, you know, words can't even describe my love for my daughter, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: So it's just like immediately opens my heart.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: So if you have that thing, you just start there.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: And you know, with this conscious awareness, this breath and the thinking, you know, in the state, you know, just really if it's in the morning, you can, you know, just start like going through like all the things you're grateful for, you're grateful that these things are gonna happen today or whatnot.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: If it's at the end of the day, you can be reflective.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: But um, some people are like meditation sounds like too much, and like breathing and sitting like that sounds a little too complicated.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Just start with a journal, just start writing, you know.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Like you can, if you're not ready to just create, you know, this kind of routine and you don't think you have 10 minutes or 15 minutes yet, um, start just a journal and three things, five things you're grateful for today, and really mean it.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: Don't just like write it down, like write it on and like really, because we know like the more that we can stay in that state of love and appreciation and gratitude, that's when our heart really generates this um rhythm.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: And then again, the um heart, you know, organizes the rest of the body.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: So then all of a sudden, our brain is getting information that we're in a coherent state.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: So our brain waves get more ordered.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Um, and then you know, our physiological processes follow, like our autonomic nervous system gets more ordered.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: This is like the the state we're wired to heal in.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: I truly believe.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: And so um, again, um, this is just a small practice, but a really powerful one um that you can try.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: Um, and that's kind of where I would I would start.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: You know, one thing that I but I I I I really get I really get angry at evil people.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know, right?
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: That well, this is a this is a practice, right?
- 26:11SPEAKER_02: Like I think what we're taught, like depending on like where you like, trust me, I there's plenty of things, especially with what's going out around in the world.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: So I think the biggest resistance is not to um not to basically engage with those forces or those evil people and give them your intention and energy on a regular basis.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: Be aware, know who you're dealing with, don't forget you know who the devil is.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: Like, of course, I totally am all for it, but like know that.
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: But like, how can you really start your attention and energy and in creating the new future, right?
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: And it all starts with us, and I'm really dedicated and I hope in my life I can make an impact on like what the future of medicine is, right?
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: And we know it's polarized right now, people are in all these different camps, and ugh, it's awful.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: So let's just claim you got your booster, have you gotten your booster to the powder?
- 27:11SPEAKER_02: My booster is uh right.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: I have like bottles of all sorts of supplements right here.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: Like I've got vitamin A, I got you know, like all sorts of other things, right?
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: You know, but but you know what I mean?
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: It's like like look at the movement you've created, Joel, like with regenerative agriculture, like create a new system, create a new movement, right?
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: And as Buckminster Fuller said, and I think like you gotta feel your feelings, you gotta know it's there, but you can see like at the end of the day, I mean, we I think we've all been through our phases of this, especially in the last three years, of just feeling angry and hopeless and so upset.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: But that at the end of the day just leaves you energy drained and just really upset.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: And the world right now needs you like in your highest vibrational state if we're gonna create any change right now.
- 27:57SPEAKER_02: I truly believe that in my heart.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think one way that I'm able to, because I get angry too, you know, when Joel and I talk about what's happening with the food and you know, it's it's maddening.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: It's it is, and you know, I've actually um I've actually been interviewed by people before on their podcasts, and they're upset that I'm not more upset.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: Like at the information that I'm providing, they're like, how can you be so calm?
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: And they're like on the air with me, asking me, how can you be so calm?
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: Like, why aren't you a little more upset?
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Like, so that's the default state, right?
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: If you're in this movement, you have to be upset, you have to be outraged, or like it's perceived that you don't care as much.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: So I find that fascinating.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: And the one way I do that is, you know, awareness.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Like we talk about it, we talk through it.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: So it's kind of like I'm getting it literally like off my chest, right?
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: I can, I feel it's coming off my chest.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: And then when I do my gratitude, I try to attach it to the elevated emotions that you're talking about, like the joy and whatnot.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: And the way one of the ways that's helped me do that is to say the why.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: So when I say like, I'm grateful for Joel, then I would say, I wouldn't just say I'm grateful for Joel, I would say like, I'm grateful for Joel because he, you know, gives me somebody to uh talk about these issues with that's you know knowledgeable.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: So it's like being back in the university system where I have these people to debate with that are at this higher level, you know.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: So I I try to always include the because, like the why part of it.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: And then helps you to sit in it longer and just start feeling it.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: It's like you have to think of, oh, why am I actually grateful for it?
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: And I found that the emotions of gratitude actually start rising up the more you are more you allow yourself to sit in that moment.
- 29:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Think about, yeah, and just just think about the level of of uh animosity in our world today with censorship, with uh um, you know, uh peep people groups who have been wronged in the past.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: I don't want to go any farther than that, but you know, the the there's all this vengeance and retribution and and and and we've got a we've got a uh whatever, you know, hurt hurt the people who did us wrong.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: And and and all of that, I mean, I I just finished it's it's getting uh republished.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: Um it's um it's uh it's the biography of George Washington Carver.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: It was written in 1943, and he was a um African American, you know, was born in slavery in 1860, he was born, and this man, this man changed the world.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: He changed the world, and and it's so fast, and it was written this book was written in 1943, it's just being republished.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: So this is 1943.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: This is still, you know, Jim Crows is and here's this this eminent scientist who who who was given virtually every award, world war world award that a scientist could be given, and he couldn't drink out of a water fountain in a hotel where they gave him the you know the uh the award.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: And and yet, and yet he just he just carried on.
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: He just went.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: And and it's I mean it just makes you brings you to tears of his especially, you know, now looking at back at 80 80 years ago compared to today, his spirit and attitude.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: Um have people wronged each other?
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: Yes, they've wronged each other forever.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: But but but but vengeance, vengeance doesn't get it, and all it does is work is is get you all worked up.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:50SPEAKER_02: It's a beautiful story, and I think like the people who really change society, yes, I mean we're all fired up of something has to change, but their presence and their grace and how they move through a really impossible situation to create change.
- 32:06SPEAKER_02: I think you know, we have to start tuning into that because you know, I think the forces that are creating a lot of these um issues for us, they want us to be in fear, they want us to be fighting each other, they want us to be upset, they know these principles, you know, they they do, and they they're trying to hack humanity so we're you know not in our highest vibrational state where we're um we're getting messages, we're full of purpose, we're fearless, we're on point, we're creating things and connections and community, and um we're getting resourced and information, you know, like that's like somebody you don't something you don't want to happen on a grassroots level when you're trying to destroy the world.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: You know, you know what I mean?
- 32:56SPEAKER_02: You know, so I yeah, and I I think um, yeah, I think again, just saying this this one last point.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: I know we'll probably have to wrap, but you know, the extension of this work is with the global coherence initiative that Dr.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: McCrady created.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: And he they have um about nine sensors across the globe, and they're watching the magnetic lines of Mother Earth and they're seeing their impact on humans, but then they all do experiments while they'll have basically people like intend or create change or be in a coherent state in that area or like direct energy and they see a shift.
- 33:33SPEAKER_02: So if like Mother Earth can respond to our intentional energy, you know, we we have way more power um than we think when we're in the state.
- 33:43SPEAKER_02: And I I think that's what we need to just you know really tune into in these times.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: So well, as a as a farmer, as a farmer, that's just almost to think that that I can in my in my positive energy attitudinal outlook, I can actually affect the earthworms, I can affect the mycorrhizae.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: I mean that that if if that isn't an ultimately hopeful um uh idea, I don't know what is.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so beautiful.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and like a way you can create what you can transform and transmute, right?
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: It's amazing.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: That's so profound and so empowering, right?
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: And that's the whole point of Beyond Labels, right?
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Is to bring awareness and to educate and then empower people.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: So, all of our listeners and viewers, you can see why Joel and I love Dr.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: Schaffner so much.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: I love you guys.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: We there's so many topics we did not get to um that I know our listeners were enjoying.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, would would you come back on the show and of course, of course, we can be happy.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: Yes, that would be awesome.

- 35:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
