- 2:12[SPEAKER_05]: He liked how the car drove Jack.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_05]: He liked the cut of our jib and he stuck around.

- 3:43[SPEAKER_04]: I guess so
- 3:44[SPEAKER_05]: great.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to give AI guns now.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_05]: Anyway, you know, the wife said, hey, you got to take a little bit of that money and all of it, dude, like chill.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_05]: Take a little bit and you know, spend something nice.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_05]: So I already confessed this to Jack, but I'm confessing this to our people as well because I am all about transparency here on the reformatory.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_05]: Jack, I found myself wandering the halls of Sagarbid.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_05]: Sagarbid was calling my name, and I found the free fall section, in which insane deals, too.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm not going to say what exactly happened, but a box showed up today.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_05]: A massive cardboard box.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_05]: The chewed up in the me.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_05]: All I remember is so happy.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_04]: All I remember, dude, it was not good.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't have a lender, dude.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_05]: I needed you.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_05]: This is your fault.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_05]: You weren't there for me when I needed you.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_05]: You weren't there for me, dude.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_05]: I had one, two, many Coke zeros.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_05]: And I just was on cigar bed.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_05]: All I remember is a couple of weeks.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was the Saturday after we did the smoke sash.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_04]: Josh text me at like nine almost nine o'clock and I need to go's Jack
- 5:10[SPEAKER_04]: I have this many cigars coming in.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, oh, and I just, I put a gif of Cam Newton just slinking down in this scene, dying.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_04]: He's like, I thought you folded like a cheap table.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I did.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_04]: 100% is bad.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_05]: So if you want to know, ladies and gentlemen, what is he doing?
- 5:30[SPEAKER_05]: But you're what your taxes went to.

- 7:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, we went.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_05]: We have the capacity of us to, like, thank you more questions that prepared this food and bless the food to our bodies.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_05]: Give us nourishment for this food.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, dude, you're eating 3,000 calories, possible.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_05]: possible coronary heart attacks.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_05]: I'm having you all right down the wall you call it The Lord is up is up and heaven looking down thinking I'm not honoring that prayer because there's nothing there At all from me Calories I question them 100% 100% okay this one the next one was sent to us by listener a buddy boon

- 8:34[SPEAKER_05]: All right, but this one
- 8:37[SPEAKER_05]: this one this one's a this one's own experience.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_05]: All right, what we got here is a is a lady doing some preaching.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_05]: Looks to be in a foreign country of African nature.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_05]: It's the it's the it's the the charismatic movement over there in the in in the Africa's Jack and this is this is what this is what this is what they're dealing with over there.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for watching, and don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to our channel.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_04]: That's not like a demon.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_05]: You know what, first thing that I heard when I heard that I want you to listen to this again.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_05]: Listen to this one more time.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_05]: One more time.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_05]: So okay, for the audio listeners only like I said, it's this lady with a microphone.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_05]: Like she's, she's, she's hype in the crowd up hype in the crowd up.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: And as obviously, it says, it says the apostle Paul, if that I'm assuming he says, if the apostle Paul were alive today, he would.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_05]: He would write a letter to the churches in Nigeria, because what is this?
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I heard was, oh, I heard was freak out at least.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's, it's that and Golem basically is it?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_04]: What you got, I mean, that's like, that's like a combo.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_05]: You got some pretty precious.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_04]: Pretty nice.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my goodness.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_05]: Jack, such good stuff today for the instant grams.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_05]: loving every minute of it.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_05]: Jack, we're talking about something something kind of unique kind of niche today.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_05]: And that is kind of the importance of having some I would label itself awareness when it comes to ministries in your local church and knowing when it is a good time to pivot
- 11:12[SPEAKER_05]: the reality is needs in local churches change.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_05]: They change with the size of the church.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_05]: They change with the
- 11:23[SPEAKER_05]: the demographic of the people that are in your church.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_05]: Different churches are going to experience different deficits or different needs depending on many factors within that particular local church.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_05]: It's a bad thing, let's just how it works, right?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_05]: The needs that we have at redeemer in Cedarwall, you're going to be different than the needs that that you have down there in Tacoma, because we're different churches filled with different people.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_05]: different demographics of people, ages, lifestyles, stages in life, again, like there's so many factors that work into that, right?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that there is this mentality sometimes in local churches in which we get so laser focused in having certain ministries within our local church
- 12:16[SPEAKER_05]: That's what, you know, a local, that's what a successful church has, right?
- 12:21[SPEAKER_05]: For example, a youth group, having a youth group, right?
- 12:25[SPEAKER_05]: We got to have a youth group, right?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_05]: Because that's what all churches have.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_05]: You know, a good church has a good youth group.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_05]: Or a good church has a really thriving, you know, Sunday school.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_05]: We, you know, we got it.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_05]: We got to have that.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_05]: We got to have, you know, small groups that look this way, this certain way, okay?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_05]: And none of those in and of themselves are necessarily bad things, but what we need to be doing as local churches is understanding where our people are at, who it is that is coming into the doors of our churches and having a realistic understanding of the needs that those people have, right?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_05]: And not get so caught up in either a cultural understanding,
- 13:10[SPEAKER_05]: or a personal, you know, having this, this personal agenda of, you know, this is what our church needs to have.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_05]: When, you know what, maybe that's just not in need that your church has in that moment and your efforts, your time, your talents would be better focused and shifted.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_05]: somewhere else.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_05]: So we're talking about pivoting and the need to pivot.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes as a local church, as leaders, you need to pivot because the needs of your church change.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_05]: And this is something that I was thinking of over the last couple months is looking at kind of how the demographic of church has changed, where you have, you know, um,
- 13:50[SPEAKER_05]: maybe, you know, you know, we're starting at our local church right now, like a class for the younger, like middle school age kids.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_05]: We never had that before because we haven't needed that, right?
- 14:03[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_05]: But we have a whole bunch of kids that are coming into that age demographic and we're seeing, hey, it'd actually be pretty valuable to have a space where they can come together with kids of their own age and be discipled in the word.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and I'm really excited for Pastor David is going to be heading that up.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_05]: I'm really excited for that because that to me is a great example of, in my opinion, again, I'm going to hype up my church and my elders, because I love them, elders that have a,
- 14:34[SPEAKER_05]: good pulse, you know, good thumb on the pulse of the, of the congregation, where the needs here.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_05]: So that's where we're going to put our effort into, right?
- 14:42[SPEAKER_05]: And that's important.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_05]: You need that.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_05]: So that's what we're talking about today, Jack.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_05]: I know that you have experienced the same things that I have in, in seeing the, the need for kind of pulling or pivoting your focus away from one thing to another.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, sometimes that's just the reality of where you are as a local church.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think for us down here in Tacoma, we're seeing more.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_04]: We did this actually, gosh, one was us, we did it.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_04]: A couple of years ago, we actually started to actually make and pivot into a young adult's ministry.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_04]: So, where younger maybe like anywhere from like people from over the age of 18 into their 20s and maybe early 30s could start to have more fellowship with one another.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_04]: And it seems like it's true, like especially in the Northwest, I feel like there's certain ways in which
- 15:40[SPEAKER_04]: you think churches automatically should have that age demographic and just organically should set things up.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_04]: But really like there's never the churches that I've been a part of have never had like official young adults kind of ministry.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's always been that I think taken advantage of and I think especially in our in the demographic and our church right now.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_04]: I would say there's like
- 16:06[SPEAKER_04]: more younger growing families in our church.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_04]: You have an older population, or a growing older population of people in our church, older saints coming up, and then you also have kind of the scattering and smattering of
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: young professionals, you know, in the wider range of the Tacoma greater Tacoma area as well too.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_04]: So I feel like that's starting to happen in our church at least.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_04]: That's where we're seeing demographics happen.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: And so yeah, it was, I think we started that up and there was one guy that
- 16:48[SPEAKER_04]: We had basically lead it who was through our pastors and leaders in situ that's leading it now with his wife.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_04]: And so, um, yeah, that's...
- 17:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's the pivoting that's going to happen.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it depends too on what happens in the future.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't know if I've seen, there's ways in which right now that I think younger men to have a men's ministry, a greater men's ministry, all men's of all ages and generations to have a men's ministry in your church right now because I think younger men are really suffering
- 17:26[SPEAKER_04]: Um, in ways that we've never seen younger men suffer, like, I would say, and I want to say, like, it's not the suffering that I'm talking about is basically a, it's a, it's a,
- 17:55[SPEAKER_04]: quote unquote find our purpose and know about going through life in the right way and I think you're been right now are just like lost both spiritually and like out there in the world in life right now and you're seeing it in a lot of statistics I think one of them is just this isn't a this isn't a an overall thing but there are less men in college right now
- 18:22[SPEAKER_04]: then there ever has been in the last 40, 50 years.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_04]: So less men are getting degrees, less men are even like going into the workforce.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_04]: And there's more mental health, there's more men in prison or being incarcerated, there's more men dying from suicide.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_04]: um like men are the number one people to die by suicide.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_04]: So there's just a lot of stuff that I think are going like it's happening and so we actually did this strategically where
- 18:58[SPEAKER_04]: our pastors basically about myself and a couple other guys so it was me and another guy that are basically more millennial and then more of an older kind of Jesus movement kind of convert to the faith and we talked about basically like hey how can we go about revamping our men's ministry where it's just not
- 19:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's just not a men's breakfast and that's it, but it's a way in which we can dig into content and talk to each other, see how each other's doing kind of dive in deeper into our lives and have more friendships than just the men's breakfast where it's a once-off every month and that's all you're going to get.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_05]: Now that's exactly right.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_04]: that's the that's the kind of pivoting to that needs to sometimes happening your current ministries that you just need to like okay this is changing in our culture it could be ways in which that's happening to men and men or women differently in your church just depending or it's a way it's a demographic of people like
- 20:05[SPEAKER_04]: I would say this, if you had a demographic of people in your church that were being affected by something, I'm pretty sure your church would have to pivot in order to start doing ministry in a unique way.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_04]: And that could be anything to be quite honest.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_05]: And again, I want to be very careful.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_05]: Like, this is not like what we are not advocating for is having a felt needs ministry in your church, right?
- 20:37[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what is the, what is the, what is the felt needs of our church?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_05]: And let's shape our entire structure around meeting the felt needs of the people.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_05]: That's not what we're talking about.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_05]: We're talking about intentional discipleship.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_05]: right with the word of God being obviously central in the foundation of that and there's going to there's always going to be constant demographics in your church right you're always going to have men you're always going to have women so there's going to be needs for specific discipleship
- 21:05[SPEAKER_05]: that are pretty much across the board never going to change, right?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_05]: And those are kind of the larger more common demographics that you're going to have.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_05]: You're usually never going to have a church full of old guys or just all girls.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_05]: That would be weird, right?
- 21:19[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to have both.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_05]: And you need intentional ministries that are focused to discipling those people.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_05]: That's a good thing to do, right?
- 21:32[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_05]: What we're talking about is having, again, the self-awareness and I would add the humility because I think that there's sometimes the pride that works into this is not wanting to see a ministry quote unquote die, right?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_05]: Because it's, it's, it's lost.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_05]: It's demographic.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_05]: If you, you know, if in the first couple years of your church, you have a lot of young people.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_05]: So you're like, hey, we've got like we've got a built in youth group here.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_05]: Let's let's let's focus on that right.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_05]: Let's get all the youth together on Wednesday nights and you know,
- 22:04[SPEAKER_05]: have a game and then, you know, give them some food, but then like have intentional discipleship with them.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_05]: That's great.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_05]: Praise the Lord for that.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_05]: But say, you know, in four years, they all graduate, and then you don't really have anybody in that dynamic anymore, or excuse me, in that demographic anymore.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_05]: That's okay.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_05]: It's not a failure.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_05]: We have to get our minds out of the
- 22:30[SPEAKER_05]: the worldly and cultural understanding of what success looks like, and in the local church, and in the culture, success looks different.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_05]: Numbers are not the barometer of success.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_05]: in the local church, they can't be.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_05]: Because by definition, we are always going to be a remnant.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_05]: We are small and we're not going to be attracting if we're doing things correctly and biblically.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_05]: We're not going to be attracting people like the way that the world does, right?
- 23:01[SPEAKER_05]: So we got to get our minds out of that mentality and realize that, hey, sometimes in the local church, the needs of that local church changes.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_05]: And we have to be okay with that.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_05]: We can't have this mentality, this, and just have this death grip on these ministries.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_05]: Well, if this is my ministry, this is what I started, this is like, like, what else am I gonna do?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_05]: If we don't have a youth group anymore, if we don't have, you know, young adults anymore, like, then you're going to take those gifts that God has given you, and you're gonna find another avenue and another way to use them.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_05]: in the local church.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's what we do.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_05]: And it's okay.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_05]: And that's actually good.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_05]: It's a good thing.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_05]: It's not a bad thing.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_05]: It should be encouraged.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_05]: And I think.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_05]: I think a lot of people just need encouragement to, it's okay sometimes to let some things go.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_05]: Just as it's okay to sometimes focus in on some things, right?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_05]: Where are the needs in your local church?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_05]: Something Lauren and I have been talking about for a while is we're looking around our local church right now and I might, we might try to do this sometimes maybe in the summer, but there's a lot of newlyweds.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_05]: you know, people that are may have been married under five years.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_05]: And we've got actually quite a few couples that are in that demographic and I'm looking around thinking, you know, that would actually maybe be a really beneficial thing to do to get these couples together and invest in them, invest in their marriages so that they can continue to grow and flourish with one another, right?
- 24:37[SPEAKER_05]: I see that.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that's something that we should constantly be looking for as those opportunities to disciple, right?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_05]: And where is that discipleship going to be effective, where is the need there?
- 24:48[SPEAKER_05]: And then also, again, have the humility, and I think the self-awareness to say, okay, you know, this area is not in need anymore.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_05]: It was and it was met well.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_05]: but it's no longer anymore.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_05]: So we're going to pivot and we're going to refocus.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_05]: And I just think that there's an aversion to that in a lot of churches and there shouldn't be.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_05]: Because I think that just means that you're focusing things, focusing on things correctly, and you're not wanting to deathgrip something into the ground simply because we need to have this.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, well, you know, you've got, you don't really have anybody in that demographic anymore.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_05]: So I would argue that you don't actually need that, right?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, so have like, um, here's something that's, uh, it could be hit or mess too.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_04]: So the demographics of veterans in your local church, like both, both service members who are active duty and people who are already out of the military and kind of like in their civilian careers can fluctuate a lot.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I think we're going through right now.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_04]: We've had probably the most military members I've seen in the church, active duty wise, and while, and I think that might change here within the next few months.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: And so some of it could be like walking alongside the one or two folks who are kind of still here and being like, hey,
- 26:13[SPEAKER_04]: you know, how are you doing?
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: I know this is, it really depends to on how people treat their military service.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_04]: I was always of the opinion, um, I really stuck with the people in my local church, uh, and I really didn't matter if I was in the military, but sometimes folks really care about that identity, uh, a lot.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_04]: and it affects them in different ways and so yeah it's it's interesting to where you know we have we're probably gonna have you know a lot of change over happened here in the next couple of a few months and so it's kind of like
- 26:53[SPEAKER_04]: asking the current folks who are still in the military.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, are you doing okay, you know, and that and that and they were also part they're still a part of like the young adult's group.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_04]: And so that's I think a sub genre sub category of that ministry that's happening.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_04]: But when stuff like that happens, it kind of is like, okay, this person is, you know, a lot of this person's demographic is leaving.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_04]: I wonder if they're doing okay, and just like expressing some stuff, you know, that may be typical people may not express.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, there's certain stuff like that, too, that can come up here and there that you need to pivot sometimes.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_04]: You may have, I mean, since we're so close to base, I know there's probably going to be an influx of newer people.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: I would assume coming into the base this summer, because that's usually when it happens, newer folks start moving different bases.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_04]: So it's kind of like adjusting to that but also to like
- 28:00[SPEAKER_04]: a lot of people in your local church, like a lot of the older folks, you know, there could be a changing of the tide in the next like few years of those folks and you never know that.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_04]: And then more, then that changes your whole wave like Josh talked about to where once you didn't have a middle school, once you didn't have like a youth group and then all of a sudden this demographic goes to be with the Lord and then this demographic is coming
- 28:28[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_04]: How are you going to adjust with that?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_04]: And it's really, and it's really coming together as your leaders and hopefully as people even just members just saying, hey, I see this.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully there's a good communication pathway to both members and your pastors and leaders to where you can say,
- 28:52[SPEAKER_04]: in our local church demographics.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_04]: Um, how can we, are, are we going to address this like what's going on here?
- 29:00[SPEAKER_04]: Just like stuff like that.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, is always helpful.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, like be aware of kind of what's going on in your local church, even be aware of like, you know, I think probably, I think this is always going to happen, but I feel like in the,
- 29:18[SPEAKER_04]: like right around 2000s, like around 2000 to 20, 20, 20, 20, 23, I felt there was an influx of a lot of people coming into the church that had been hurt, which I previous churches.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_04]: And I feel like that's somewhat, I wouldn't say calm down, but I know there's people out there that's still experienced that and that still happens, but I felt like that was the biggest influx of people
- 29:47[SPEAKER_04]: moving away from one church, going into another, hey, there is a huge influx of people coming to our church who are previously at this church.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_04]: Can we address that?
- 29:57[SPEAKER_04]: Can we like talk and minister to those folks?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_04]: And what happened there?
- 30:02[SPEAKER_04]: Like, how can we help them?
- 30:03[SPEAKER_04]: Like, there's that kind of stuff that may come up.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_04]: There's just a bunch of different stuff that could come up to be
- 30:10[SPEAKER_04]: And it's really you being aware and knowing that as things change,
- 30:18[SPEAKER_04]: like being able to be flexible and to be carrying of the flock of God when that happens.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, that's that's always something interesting because I mean right now we're at a unique period in time where we have so many generations living together like you've never had this amount of generations living together in the United States ever before right history of the country and that might sound really dumb because we've
- 30:44[SPEAKER_04]: even a country like 250 years like that's nothing comparison the time but uh there's a lot of stuff that happens and you never know you never know happens and so I think what Josh and I are really trying to point y'all too is to understanding that
- 31:00[SPEAKER_04]: be prepared like you may be in a season where you're quote unquote out of a season of ministry and within this year like that out of season time in ministry could shot shoot you right back in the ministry because of stuff you never know yeah absolutely yeah yeah and keep your keep your thumb on the pulse of your congregation right that's what that's that's what that's
- 31:27[SPEAKER_05]: whether you're in leadership or you know, you're a deacon or you're a member, whatever that looks like.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_05]: All right, we should all be investing in the local church using the gifts that God has given us to do so, and yeah, find where that need is right find where there is there is a place I guarantee you there is sometimes just got a look a little harder get a little creative ask the elders right hey yeah I have I want to serve I want to be part of the body how can I do that where is there a need right I again I've said this before I love that question.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_05]: All right, we just had a she's not even a member yet.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_05]: She's a potential member.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_05]: She's going through classes wants to be a member where we're working through the process.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_05]: She came up to me the other day and she was like, hey, she's she's a she's a train she cuts hair and I forget is that a cause cause metologist.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_05]: Is that what that is?
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: Toss a barber?
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: A barber?
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, kind of a topology?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like a barber's for men.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_05]: I forget why.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_05]: She cuts her.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_05]: She's like, hey, I want to use this skill that I have.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_05]: I want to teach the moms of the church how to cut their kids' hair because I know that that's like expensive.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_05]: And dude, I was like, dude, that is one of the coolest things because it's such a special ice skill, right?
- 32:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_05]: And she wants to use it for the church.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_05]: Like that.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_05]: I, that puts me on cloud nine, dude.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_05]: I love it when I hear stuff like that, because it's these people that understand this gift that I have, this thing that God has given me, I have been given it bless his people with, right?
- 33:07[SPEAKER_05]: And that's so wonderful.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_05]: So we should all have them mentality.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_05]: Her name's Amanda.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_05]: Shout out Amanda.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think she listens, but that's okay.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_05]: Awesome, awesome stuff, but anyway.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_05]: it's okay to pivot.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_05]: It's okay that things change.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes ministries, they end.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and sometimes ministry start, but the ministry never does.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_05]: The ministry of the gospel, the ministry of the word, that is constant, that is ongoing, and that will always be a need how that is applied changes.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_05]: And that's okay.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_05]: That's an okay thing.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_05]: That's not a bad thing.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_05]: Don't be,
- 33:49[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no, no what your congregation needs and seek to meet those needs with the word of God.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_05]: That's that's what we do and the church is blessed.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_05]: So Jack, we're going to get out of here, my man.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_05]: We've got stuff to do.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_05]: We've got Patreon to get to.
