Transcript
- 0:17Hey, everybody. Thanks for still being here.
- 0:21If you're still here, today is a update.
- 0:25A life update on what the hell is going on with Sean, who is
- 0:30currently living in Arizona, and who now has a relationship and
- 0:34who has not made the five cast a priority, and I'm just going to
- 0:39give you an update on all that stuff.
- 0:40Plus, the events that I have coming up both online and in
- 0:44person And also, what do I think my year is going to look like?
- 0:50And so I want to thank you for still being here.
- 0:55I also want to apologize for not being as consistent as I have in
- 0:59the past. With the podcast, I really do
- 1:01love the podcast. I do.
- 1:02I like having conversations with mostly strangers and some of my
- 1:06friends and sharing those conversations with you.
- 1:09It's just a lot of work to record and edit and host and
- 1:13Mark it and all that stuff. Off.
- 1:16So that's not an excuse. It's an explanation of where
- 1:19I've been what I've been doing. So if you're up for a little
- 1:24update, here we go. Okay it's 2023.
- 1:27It is the last day of February and where do we start?
- 1:34We start with the fact that I fell in love recently, which is
- 1:38really exciting and not something I was expecting.
- 1:42I went to California for the month of December because I was
- 1:45feeling lonely. Only and I missed my friends and
- 1:49didn't want to be in Arizona. So I went I packed up my bike
- 1:54and my dog and drift, California and visited my friends visited
- 2:00my family and on the like the first couple days that I was
- 2:03there. I set up a hinge profile and
- 2:08made are really playful simple profile with some funny, weird
- 2:12photos and I wrote in the profile.
- 2:19Casually looking for something serious.
- 2:23And I matched with a fantastic woman.
- 2:25On a Thursday, we went out on a Friday, we had a little bit of
- 2:30back and forth, banter on the app, we agreed to meet up and
- 2:35we're in a relationship now. We kind of fell, you know, hot
- 2:41and heavy and it was nearly impossible to pull back and we
- 2:49didn't we just sort of enjoyed following and now, I'm in a
- 2:52long-distance relationship with somebody who lives in
- 2:54California, which is not ideal. It's not what I had planned for
- 2:58myself, but I was casually looking for something serious
- 3:01that I think she was as well. And so, we're doing long
- 3:05distance for now, for however long that is going to last with
- 3:09the, with the expressed intention of eventually living
- 3:13in the same place whether that's here or there or somewhere else,
- 3:16I don't know. But I'm really excited about
- 3:19her. She's very sweet.
- 3:22Loving fantastic woman. She's a teacher for now and yeah
- 3:29we're having fun getting to know each other and and visiting each
- 3:32other and she's been here a couple times and I'm going there
- 3:34a couple times and we'll sort of see what happens.
- 3:38So that's exciting. I wasn't planning on doing that
- 3:40falling in love. That is but, you know, that's
- 3:44just kind of how it happens. Sometimes, I'm not going to say
- 3:49like oh, it happened when I stopped looking because I didn't
- 3:51stop. Looking right, I put myself on a
- 3:54dating app, I put myself out there, I want on a date and then
- 3:58it happened actually. The interesting thing is that I
- 4:03decided to try something different.
- 4:04I'm usually the person who sends the messages on dating apps and
- 4:08instead I decided to just see what would come in and lo and
- 4:13behold she came in. And when I asked her, you know,
- 4:15do you normally send messages to guys?
- 4:17She goes? No, I don't.
- 4:19But I decided to do it. I like your face.
- 4:23And they decided to do it. So, anyways, that's the update
- 4:26on the relationship front. I'm very happy, it's not all
- 4:30unicorns and rainbows. There are some challenges,
- 4:33mainly the distance stuff. And also, you know, getting to
- 4:36know a new person. Sometimes when you, you know,
- 4:39they step off the pedestal. You realize like, oh shit, this
- 4:43is like a beautifully flawed human, just like me.
- 4:46And so let's see how our characters and personalities our
- 4:50desires and goals. Goals and triggers how they all
- 4:54work together and so far, they've been working pretty well
- 4:56and were able to talk about the stuff that's important.
- 5:01Anyways I'm keeping it a little vague because you know several
- 5:06years ago I had a huge breakup and it didn't want to make that
- 5:10public mainly because you know the internet is weird and people
- 5:14have a very intense parasocial relationship with me and I just
- 5:19didn't want like an outpouring of support from total strangers.
- 5:22Rangers did not want that. Also I think it's important to
- 5:26keep my private life private to a certain degree.
- 5:30So I think I became really cagey about my relationship status or
- 5:34my relationships. And now I'm sort of evaluating
- 5:38what talking about it a little bit looks like so anyways, maybe
- 5:42that's what a little bit looks like.
- 5:45Okay. What else?
- 5:47Oh, I finally hired an assistant who is helping with stuff, she's
- 5:52helping to cross. Post some stuff to take, talk to
- 5:56Instagram to Facebook. She's helping with like a second
- 6:01set of eyes on some of my landing pages in my marketing.
- 6:05And also, she's going to be in a course that I'm hosting soon
- 6:09that I'll tell you about shortly as my live in person.
- 6:14Ian assistant which is super, super exciting to be able to
- 6:17have that kind of support. So I'm excited about that or
- 6:20name is Haley. She's fantastic.
- 6:22She does a whole bunch of other stuff and then I also have
- 6:25Camilla who helps with the podcast.
- 6:29She does the editing of the podcast.
- 6:30When I have new interviews which I'm hoping to have at some
- 6:34point, I really am. I've got a lot going on until
- 6:38April and then I think it opens up a little bit, so I'll share.
- 6:43With you a little bit about that after I share with you, what are
- 6:47these events that I have going on.
- 6:48So the closest thing that's happening is that yesterday I
- 6:53launched an online course called getting your needs met.
- 6:57And this is one of my favorite courses to teach just because
- 7:00the impact that it has on people.
- 7:02So getting your needs met, how do identify what you need and
- 7:05make requests that work without looking needy?
- 7:10That last part is kind of important.
- 7:12This course is Designed to help you figure out what the hell you
- 7:15need in life and in your relationships.
- 7:18Maybe not so so much in life, you know, that we're not going
- 7:20to be talking about your career choices, but we're going to be
- 7:23talking about, how can you get your needs met in various kinds
- 7:26of relationships? So what do I need?
- 7:29What do I want from my friends? My family, my lover's, my
- 7:33romantic Partners, my sexual partners, my bosses, my
- 7:36colleagues, this is a course to help you identify what you want
- 7:40and what you need and how to speak up.
- 7:43How to make your needs easy to meet and how to make requests
- 7:46from all sorts of different people that work?
- 7:49And also what happens when people say, no what happens when
- 7:54people cannot meet your needs, you have more options than you
- 7:59think. You'll also learn how to say no
- 8:02with love because I think saying no to stuff.
- 8:05You don't need is actually a way of getting the stuff you do
- 8:08need, right? So let's stop doing this shit
- 8:11that we don't want to do. That we don't need to be doing,
- 8:14but they were so terrified of saying, no to, I will show you
- 8:17how to say no with love, hopefully, in a way that people
- 8:22can respect. So, this course starts March
- 8:259th. It's six hours, it's it's over
- 8:29three weeks. So, March 9th, March 16th March,
- 8:3323rd, 10 a.m. Pacific to noon Pacific, and
- 8:40you're going to get six hours of Coaching instruction, QA tools
- 8:45scripts. You'll have also have access to
- 8:48a Facebook group for Life. You'll have access to a private
- 8:52WhatsApp group, to stay connected to me and the students
- 8:55before between, and after the calls and you'll have access to
- 8:59the recordings of the video for Life.
- 9:02The sessions are live but don't worry if you can't attend live
- 9:06about half, the people who take my courses, can't attend live
- 9:11because I do my courses. In the middle of a nine-to-five
- 9:14workday and most people, most of my students also have 925 work
- 9:18days. And people are like well, that's
- 9:21inconvenient for me. When why don't you do it on the
- 9:23weekend it? Well, because I don't like to
- 9:24work on the weekend just like most of you if you have a 9 to 5
- 9:29Monday through Friday, don't want to work on the weekend.
- 9:31So I know I should maybe adjust my schedule to my audience but
- 9:35the reality is that like you don't want me working on the
- 9:37weekend, you don't want me working in the evening because
- 9:41I'm just not that great. That is not.
- 9:42Not my zone of Genius. I'm a morning dude.
- 9:46I'm good till about 2:00 and then it's just not good.
- 9:50So everything's recorded, you'll have access to everything for
- 9:54life if you're interested. Look at the link in the bio or
- 9:58sorry, not linking bio Link in the show notes or go to getting
- 10:03your needs met.com. The price is 249 u.s. until
- 10:10Sunday, March 5th at midnight and then after that's 29.
- 10:13So, not bad for six hours of instruction.
- 10:17But more importantly, not bad for starting to speak up for
- 10:21what you want. In your important relationships.
- 10:23I actually just got a testimonial from someone who
- 10:27sent me a DM and said this course, changed my work life.
- 10:32I finally got the promotion that I wanted.
- 10:35I am a much more loving manager. I use language, like, how's your
- 10:41heart to my coworker? Hers and my work life has never
- 10:44been better. So I think that is just like a
- 10:46fantastic piece of testimonial. Okay.
- 10:49So that's happening. Interesting, exciting news, I'm
- 10:54hosting my first retreat in Sedona.
- 10:57Arizona, Sedona is about 45 minutes from where I live in
- 11:00Flagstaff, and the retreat is called trusting love, and it's
- 11:05about renewing your faith in love, right?
- 11:09So this is for people who Have lost faith in love or who have
- 11:15been heartbroken and are having a hard time putting themselves
- 11:17out there. This is for people who want to
- 11:19deepen their capacity for love who also want to identify
- 11:23emotionally available people to love and also how to be a little
- 11:27bit more emotionally available. So, this is for you, if you want
- 11:30to be more vulnerable, if you want to be more connected, it's
- 11:34not necessarily only for single people.
- 11:36I mean, if you're in a relationship and you want to
- 11:38deepen your capacity for love or you're feeling a little unsure
- 11:41about your Yep. And you want some tools on how
- 11:44to love more deeply? This is the retreat for you.
- 11:47I'm excited. I've been to a lot of Retreats.
- 11:49I've been to a lot of conferences and festivals and
- 11:52what I'm trying to do is kind of create a little mini Festival
- 11:55one love. It's a two and a half day event
- 11:58in Sedona it starts. March 31st.
- 12:01That's a Friday. And it ends Sunday, April 2nd.
- 12:06So we're talking two and a half days in Sedona and what I'm what
- 12:11I'm doing, Bring together a bunch of different practitioners
- 12:15that are going to lead us into some exercises that are meant to
- 12:18open the heart. So we're going to do some Yoga
- 12:20Nidra, which is my favorite form of non sleep.
- 12:23Deep rest. We are going to do a high power
- 12:26chocolate experience. That's another word for cacao
- 12:28ceremony. Chocolate specific, specifically
- 12:32high-grade. Pure ceremonial grade chocolate
- 12:36has. The heart has has heart opening
- 12:40properties. It's very subtle.
- 12:42It's It's not like it's going to blow your heart wide open, but
- 12:46my friend Kristen is going to host this experience, to help
- 12:51you connect to love into your heart and your desires.
- 12:54We're also going to do a breathwork meditation towards
- 12:57the end. Lunches are included, you're
- 13:00welcome, dinner is included. All of these practitioners are
- 13:04included and there are nine seats left.
- 13:07So we're limiting it to 25 people.
- 13:11I've got two assistants I've got the chocolate experience, we've
- 13:16got the breathwork. Oh, we also have a sound healing
- 13:19evening on Saturday, which is going to be really fantastic
- 13:22hosted by a woman in Sedona heart-to-.
- 13:25And it's just going to be a beautiful experience where
- 13:29you're going to get to connect with your body, connect with
- 13:31your heart, your soul, where I'm also going to do several
- 13:34workshops, breakout groups and Q&A and a few stalks, of course
- 13:37during this whole thing. So if you want to learn more, if
- 13:40you want to sign up it, It is trusting love 2023.com or look
- 13:47at the show notes and they'll be a link there.
- 13:50Trusting love. 2023.com I'm excited.
- 13:53It's my first Retreat. I think it's gonna be really
- 13:54fun. I've got a couple facilitators a
- 13:56couple assistance and I'm excited to just do stuff in
- 14:01person. I'm kind of you know Zoom I'm
- 14:05zoomed out. All right, I'm zoomed out,
- 14:07everybody zoomed out, although it is a great tool for getting
- 14:10people together. That don't live where I live,
- 14:14but also, I want to do more live stuff.
- 14:17God damn it. I want to give people hugs.
- 14:20I want to look into their eyes. I want to like feel their
- 14:22energy, and that's why I'm excited about the retreat also,
- 14:28okay, that's that's that trusting love. 2023.com nine,
- 14:32seats left. 1599 is the price doesn't include your
- 14:37accommodation or your transport and there's some plenty of
- 14:40options in Sedona for all budgets.
- 14:42Types. And all right, another event
- 14:46that I am a part of. I'm not hosting.
- 14:48I'm a guest at In Bloom a love and relationships Summit, and
- 14:53I'm pretty excited about this. This is hosted by real love,
- 14:56ready? And I was one of the keynote
- 14:58speakers during the pandemic, so it was online.
- 15:01But this time they're doing their first impersonal event and
- 15:04they're bringing together. Freaking powerhouses of love and
- 15:08relationship, experts headliner. Of course Keynote.
- 15:12Speaker and extraordinaire, badass woman, Esther perel is
- 15:17going to be there and then there's going to be just
- 15:19fantastic people. So dr.
- 15:20Alexander Solomon, who's been on my podcast?
- 15:23Terry real, who's been on my podcast?
- 15:25Harry Cole, who has not been on my podcast yet dr.
- 15:30Ish major. Danielle Laporte reviews of
- 15:33these were just like, massive, massive, powerhouses of
- 15:38relational health and wellness and so April 4. 18th and 15 in
- 15:44Vancouver, Canada, not Washington.
- 15:47It's called In Bloom a relationship and love Summit.
- 15:51I am going to be, they're giving free love advice.
- 15:53So there's going to be a marketplace where they you know
- 15:56people have their Wares and their stuff and I'm going to be
- 15:59there just with a free love advice sign and maybe a, you
- 16:02know, Himalayan salt lamp and giving a little five minute, Q&A
- 16:07or mini. Mini coaching free, love advice
- 16:10old-school, street style. Sean is back.
- 16:13In Vancouver. So April, Fourteenth and fifteen
- 16:16Down Below in the show notes is the link for that and you can
- 16:22either attend in person on the 15th.
- 16:24That's Saturday, April 15th, or you can attend virtually.
- 16:29So there's two links down there. One for in-person attendance,
- 16:32one for virtual attendance. Okay, so that's all the like
- 16:36marketing promo stuff that I have for you.
- 16:39All right, what's my future look like?
- 16:41I want to do more. Treats, this Valentine's Day, I
- 16:44went on a ski trip. A men's ski trip.
- 16:46And I met all these dudes there were like, oh my God, your love
- 16:49coach like my wife, and I want to sign up for your retreat.
- 16:52And I'm like, oh shit, I need to do a Couple's Retreat on
- 16:56reconnecting to love on, deepening your intimacy on
- 16:59talking about the unspoken on connecting emotionally and maybe
- 17:05sexually, who knows? So a reconnecting the love kind
- 17:09of event I think would be really, really fun for You know
- 17:13Hansel couples, right? Maybe it's maybe it's the kind
- 17:16of thing where I rent like a you know house that has like 10
- 17:19bedrooms or something and we all stay there for the weekend.
- 17:21I think that would be really amazing.
- 17:23So I'd like to do that. I'd like to do a men's retreat
- 17:28but I just don't know if I have the audience for it.
- 17:30I think I would have to use my female audience to sell it.
- 17:34So a men's Retreat would be really, really fun.
- 17:37I would love to do that. Help you to connect to their
- 17:40emotional center, help them. Become more vulnerable, help
- 17:44them, communicate the things that they're scared of
- 17:46communicating. So I think that would be really,
- 17:49lovely, and supportive. And then also, I'll be honest
- 17:53with you, I do want to do sexier stuff.
- 17:57So maybe an erotic massage Retreat for couples, I've always
- 18:02wanted to do this. I've been to a few of them with
- 18:04ex-partners and they're always such supportive loving
- 18:08connective events and it would be really great to offer that.
- 18:11I think the fear Me is that I do have a desire to be more
- 18:17mainstream right to do. Like one of my big goals is to
- 18:20have a TV show. That's like The Daily Show meets
- 18:23Loveline this sort of my idea, right?
- 18:25So a variety variety show on sex and love with me as the host and
- 18:30I think the fear is that, if I host sexy Retreats that that
- 18:33will make that less likely, right?
- 18:37So that's a little fear anyways. Just sharing that with you.
- 18:40Who knows if it'll happen, but But basically, my goal is to be
- 18:43in Montreal this summer for, I don't know.
- 18:46May June July, August, September, maybe four months,
- 18:49five months. My girlfriend's going to come
- 18:51and visit. I was able to procure my old
- 18:54apartment back somehow some weird Stroke of Luck.
- 18:58So, I'm going to be, you know, Pimping out that pad basically
- 19:05as a little Montreal, love nest. And so I guess my goal this
- 19:09summer is to figure out these future events.
- 19:15It is to figure out merch, right?
- 19:18I'd love to be able to offer like a couple hoodies and a pair
- 19:20of underwear and a mug to people who want, you know, love Drive
- 19:25stuff. Probably a bunch of cool quotes.
- 19:28Like, hey my dude or you know love is a Birthright or I've got
- 19:32Whole list of them and I just don't have them in front of me.
- 19:37I want to do that. I also want to start pitching
- 19:39Retreat centers like kripalu esalen Omega Institute to have
- 19:46me for them to host me on Retreats, workshops of various
- 19:50topics around, emotional availability, connection
- 19:54intimacy, speaking up for love. So that's my plan.
- 19:59That's my future. I'm excited about it and in the
- 20:03meantime you know continue seeing my girlfriend spend time
- 20:06outside you know biking hanging with Roger skiing has been good
- 20:11this season for me. I don't know.
- 20:13I feel like at this point I could I could keep on rambling,
- 20:15but I want to be, you know, mindful of your time and your
- 20:19commute and your job or whatever you happen to be doing while
- 20:25you're listening to this. And again, I just want to say,
- 20:27thanks for sticking with me for being here for in.
- 20:31ER, acting on Instagram, for taking my courses, for doing all
- 20:36of all of what you do, right? Like without you, this job would
- 20:40suck. I mean, there would be no job,
- 20:42right? And I'm just so grateful that I
- 20:44get to do this as a full-time job, right?
- 20:47Like amazing, I had no idea when I got fired.
- 20:51Sorry. I mean I have gotten tired
- 20:52before. I had no idea when I when I got
- 20:55rejected from wanting a tech job back in 2014, that that would be
- 21:01Catalyst for me doing this work and that, you know, some nine
- 21:05years later, I'm still at it. And that I've, you know, slowly
- 21:08been able to build a living right, to make a living doing
- 21:11this stuff and I'm grateful for that.
- 21:14And for you, and thank you. Thanks for being here.
- 21:18Have a beautiful week.
