- 0:01There are many functions of our existence that take place
- 0:04without the conscious awareness or intervention of the mind.
- 0:09All of the complex functions of the body and its organs, for
- 0:12instance, are very much independent of control by our
- 0:16conscious mind and will. Although some of these functions
- 0:20may, through intensive training and focus, come under at least
- 0:24partial control, such as the generation of inner heat in the
- 0:28Tibetan practice of tumo, there are similar subconscious
- 0:33processes that occur on the level of perception, feeling,
- 0:38emotion, and mental ideation. The entire realm of what we call
- 0:43instinct is a basically automatic reaction in one of the
- 0:47vital responsive systems that takes over instantaneously when
- 0:52the necessary triggers or precursors arrive and prod the
- 0:56vital nature. This all takes place at the
- 1:00subconscious level. Much of what enters through the
- 1:04vital envelope remains subliminal to us, and if it
- 1:08finds a corresponding receptivity in the subconscious
- 1:11of the individual, it sets up a sympathetic vibration.
- 1:16This is illustrated by the musical instrument called the
- 1:19sitar, which has primary strings and sympathetic strings.
- 1:25When the primary string is played, the sympathetic strings
- 1:29vibrate automatically. When any vibration enters the
- 1:33subconscient, it awakens any response of strings that may be
- 1:38lying there. Seeds sprout and movement of
- 1:42energy ensues as if from within us, but really as a response and
- 1:48reaction to the vibrations that have reached us from outside.
- 1:52Srirovindu observes Quote The universal forces act very often
- 1:57through the subconscient, especially when the force they
- 2:01send is something the person has been in the habit of obeying and
- 2:05of which the seeds impressions complexes are strongly rooted in
- 2:11the subconscient, or even if that is no longer the case, of
- 2:16which there is a memory still in the subconscient.
