- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. From the chicken coop.
- 0:30Finally we are able to be outside.
- 0:32Yes, cold, but we are outside. So today we are talking about
- 0:38how to get people to remember you.
- 0:40What is the way, the best way that you can get people to
- 0:44remember you, to want to work with you, to feel that you are
- 0:48other than your expertise. So we're talking about outside
- 0:50your expertise because, you know, we have lots of people
- 0:52have credentials on paper, but that doesn't mean people will
- 0:55use them. That doesn't mean that people
- 0:57will call them. It doesn't mean that people will
- 0:59reach out to them. What it means is that they have
- 1:01credentials on paper, and that's wonderful and I have them as
- 1:04well. But the point is how do you get
- 1:07people to remember you? And the most important thing
- 1:10that I can tell you in all the time I've been doing this is you
- 1:13have to touch people emotionally.
- 1:15You have to find a way to touch their emotions in order for them
- 1:19to be engaged with wanting to stay in, in touch with you, to
- 1:23be a part of your world. Now this may seem like it's a,
- 1:27it's an over, you know, overly daunting task because it's like,
- 1:31OK, how do I constantly touch people's emotions?
- 1:34Well, the best way to go about that is being yourself and
- 1:38really sharing with them that you're human too.
- 1:43I mean, it's the biggest thing that people want to know.
- 1:46They want to know they're not alone in this journey and they
- 1:48want to know that they that when their struggles are coming up,
- 1:51they want to hear that other people's world is not perfect.
- 1:54You know, this is one of the biggest challenges we have with
- 1:57social media is because everybody puts out a bunch of,
- 2:00you know, perfect world stuff. And the other extreme is they
- 2:04put out all the disastrous stuff.
- 2:05But there are a boatload of us who live in the middle where we
- 2:09have things go wrong and we have things that go right.
- 2:12But it's not like the perfect world.
- 2:15And that's the sweet spot, my friends.
- 2:17That is the sweet spot when you can engage in that middle ground
- 2:21where you're sharing ups and downs and you're being real, but
- 2:25you're not being overly negative and you're also not projecting
- 2:30that you have a perfect life. You know, that's why I share
- 2:32things with you guys on here about disasters that happened
- 2:36here on the farm. The fact that we, you know, have
- 2:39in the last three weeks have lost 5 chickens is obscene to
- 2:43me. And I can't, you know, I can't
- 2:45tell you how sad it makes me. I can't tell you how many tears
- 2:49I've cried about that and how how it's affected me.
- 2:52I'm Oh, yeah. I mean, like physically, when I
- 2:54get that upset, things happen. Cold sores, acne, like I'm a
- 2:57teenage girl, which is ridiculous just based on stress
- 3:01because I can't figure out how to fix this problem right now.
- 3:05So we are working on it. That's, that's the thing.
- 3:07We had experts come out here. We've had lots of conversations
- 3:10about it, about the best way to handle this.
- 3:12And you know, it. It just takes time.
- 3:16But Needless to say, it's not what we're talking about today.
- 3:18What we're talking about is we are.
- 3:20I'm sharing the emotional ups and downs and it's the middle
- 3:23ground and I'm still functioning.
- 3:26I'm still getting up every day. I'm still doing my stuff.
- 3:29And that's the part that people want to know.
- 3:31They want to know you can survive.
- 3:32There is a way out of things. They want optimism.
- 3:35They want to feel like you have touched their emotions.
- 3:38You have moved them to something you're you're pointing out, hey,
- 3:43you can do this too. If I can do this, you can do
- 3:45this. And that's where people thrive.
- 3:48That's where they want to be all the time because there is
- 3:51nobody's life, not one single person.
- 3:54We look at star after star out there and recently with the loss
- 3:58of Matthew Perry, you know, it looked like, oh, he was, you
- 4:01know, part of our world growing up.
- 4:03And all of a sudden he's gone at such a young age.
- 4:06And we say, wow, you know, I would have thought he would have
- 4:09had a great life, but is he lived a very tortured life.
- 4:12And he talked about it somewhat, but for the most part, people
- 4:15really didn't think about that. But how many stars have we seen?
- 4:18And we thank God they have all the money, they have the fame,
- 4:21they have everything that everyone works for.
- 4:22But they're not happy. And part of that has to be
- 4:26because they are hiding parts of it, because they think they have
- 4:30to be perfect. And this is where these things
- 4:33get a little wonky for people. It's like when you touch their
- 4:36emotions, when you share those things, you inspire other people
- 4:41and it helps you move forward yourself.
- 4:43It helps you start to cultivate a a feeling of peace with
- 4:48yourself because you don't have to put on fakeness to go out and
- 4:52and operate in the world. So those touching of emotions
- 4:56help us in the process too. I I mean, I truly believe that
- 5:01when someone shares their pain in a way that it's effective.
- 5:04Not complaining, not constantly in the state, but when they
- 5:08share it in a very real way and they are honest about the fact
- 5:13that they're working through things and they're doing things
- 5:15that makes a tremendous difference to everyone around
- 5:17them. And then you're remembered.
- 5:19But the key here, I want to finish off with this one
- 5:21important thing. The key is, what do you want to
- 5:24be remembered for? You don't want to be remembered
- 5:26for complaining. You don't want to be remembered
- 5:28for constantly pontificating that you have a perfect life
- 5:31when everyone knows that you don't see.
- 5:34That's the other thing. We all know that we none of us
- 5:36have perfect lives. So it's good to touch their
- 5:40emotions, have them remember you that way and be real for
- 5:44yourself because it's refreshing and it's it's just unbelievably
- 5:49beneficial to lifting the weight off your shoulders of feeling
- 5:51like you always have to be perfect.
- 5:53All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:56will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
