- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. Today I want to talk to you
- 0:32about your emotions behind the scenes.
- 0:34Now any of you who may regularly follow me know this is one of my
- 0:38favorite things to talk about. I've written a book on it, Who's
- 0:41Driving Your Bus? It's available on Amazon.
- 0:43If you choose to go get it, there is a very inexpensive
- 0:46electronic download over there, the Kindle download or you can
- 0:50get it in print. But today I want to give you
- 0:52kind of the the nuts and bolts of it here so you can get it and
- 0:56if you don't have to go buy the book.
- 0:59So emotions are very tricky and in my world they are constantly
- 1:05what I'm working on because with with myself and with my clients,
- 1:09because they are what makes us do and act and be.
- 1:13We are emotional creatures and where emotions go, energy flows.
- 1:19So it's very, it's very smart and it's very, it's just very
- 1:28prudent to be able to manage your emotions because if you
- 1:30can't manage your emotions, they will manage you.
- 1:34And it's really important to know that and to work towards
- 1:37that. So that being said, years ago
- 1:41when I was studying all of this and diving into it for myself, I
- 1:44had trouble managing my own emotions.
- 1:46And I would. I would know I learned 6 steps
- 1:49to this, ten steps to this, whatever it might have been,
- 1:52whatever whoever's theory it was.
- 1:53But in the moment when I had to really do things and really make
- 1:57them shift, I couldn't get it. I couldn't get control of it
- 2:01because what was going on behind the scenes, what was going on in
- 2:04the back of my head, were emotions that I was not
- 2:06necessarily able to stop. So I came up with this theory of
- 2:12thinking of my emotions like a cast of characters on a bus.
- 2:15Whoever is driving the bus, meaning that motion that's in
- 2:20charge, large and in charge is driving the bus.
- 2:22My entire experience is now going to be funneled through
- 2:25that view, through that particular emotions view, And
- 2:30then I can decide, well, is this the most resourceful driver?
- 2:33So in the book I talk about, when you have this show up, you
- 2:37have to say to yourself, stop, you know if this emotion, if
- 2:39you're in an emotional state, you say stop, you know reflect,
- 2:43what emotion is this? Choose, Is this the best emotion
- 2:47for me? And then redirect.
- 2:48So there's a little poem, stop, reflect, choose, redirect.
- 2:52And it helps you to get your emotions back in charge.
- 2:56But this, this idea of your emotions having so much control
- 3:04over you really needs to be paid attention to.
- 3:07Because I can assure you, I can assure you, this is how we get
- 3:12into trouble. This is how we reach greatness.
- 3:15All the paths that we need to pay attention to in our lives
- 3:19are predicated on emotions. It's how we are manipulated in
- 3:23advertising. They get us, they get us right
- 3:25in the heartstrings and they get us in the excitement.
- 3:29It's how when you go and you're you're, you go on a tour and
- 3:33like if you're going to go to a, go to see a place where you know
- 3:38a timeshare and they get you by giving you all of this
- 3:42information that moves you, it's always emotional.
- 3:45So you being able to manage yourself and you being able to
- 3:49manage those emotions will move you to be able to be in charge
- 3:54of it as opposed to being manipulated by things.
- 3:57And I can tell you right now, hear what's going on between the
- 4:01Roosters. This is because one of them is
- 4:03crowing, and so the others are being emotionally moved by him
- 4:07and they're all now being getting going.
- 4:10So it's all three of the Roosters are going to town right
- 4:13now based on their their emotions are being moved and
- 4:16they're all getting amped up. And this isn't just in humans,
- 4:20this happens constantly in nature.
- 4:22It happens all the time. He's right next to me and loud.
- 4:26So this is imperative and understanding what your core
- 4:32emotions are that are driving you is the name of the game.
- 4:35So while we can experience a myriad of emotions, there are
- 4:39usually three to five that drive us all the time.
- 4:42There are patterns that we get stuck in and stuck with.
- 4:46So I'm going to challenge you today to go off and figure out
- 4:50what are your primary drivers, emotions if you will, that are
- 4:55yours, that you seem to go to all the time.
- 4:59And if you don't like those, then you have to start working
- 5:02on shifting them to better ones, to other ones.
- 5:05But you will have to do this and these check ins take place all
- 5:09the time. And when I say all the time, I
- 5:11mean you have to do this 100 times a day, no question about
- 5:15it. This is AI just changed it.
- 5:18Why is it back? Well, because it's patterns and
- 5:20because it's used to being with you that way.
- 5:22So you're going to have to do it over and over and over.
- 5:24And is this a lot of work? Well, it depends on how you view
- 5:27work. But is it necessary to get you
- 5:30where you want to go? Absolutely.
- 5:31Because without it you will be you'll be tortured by these
- 5:38these these emotions showing up and you not being able to
- 5:42control them and them controlling you.
- 5:44So you either control them or they control you.
- 5:46So start there, start looking and figure out which ones you
- 5:50have as core drivers. And we will be having this
- 5:53conversation about this quite a bit more.
- 5:55So I will talk to you soon. Bye.
