- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:30Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:34Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm and Jerry Caldwell. Today is Fred Day anywhere. Yeah,
- 0:43Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Welcome inside the treehouse. Let's play. You've
- 0:50Speaker 1: probably noticed that our good buddy Raj Sharma has not
- 0:56Speaker 1: been in the treehouse this week, which is a good
- 0:59Speaker 1: thing because apparently he's got the flu. And I don't
- 1:03Speaker 1: want the flu anywhere in this room, anywhere in this
- 1:06Speaker 1: tree house, anywhere near me. I don't want it near you, Trey,
- 1:09Speaker 1: don't want it near you, Jerry, because we talked about
- 1:13Speaker 1: the flu a couple of times this week. But again
- 1:16Speaker 1: I just want to point out that it's terrible. It sucks.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It sounds like one of the worst imaginable illnesses you
- 1:24Speaker 1: can get, you know, save for this actually deadly on
- 1:28Speaker 1: a regular basis, the flu candy. But you know what
- 1:30Speaker 1: I mean. But like Trey, you said you had it
- 1:34Speaker 1: last year and it was so bad that you made
- 1:35Speaker 1: sure to get a flu shot this year. Yeah, I've again,
- 1:42Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever had the flu, and I
- 1:44Speaker 1: would consider it a massive success if I can make
- 1:47Speaker 1: it through the end of my days having never experienced it. Jerry,
- 1:54Speaker 1: have you ever had it?
- 1:55Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I've had it probably four times, oh man, And
- 1:59Speaker 3: it is absolutely one of the worst. The last time
- 2:03Speaker 3: I had it, I've never felt like I was closer
- 2:07Speaker 3: to death.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Really, it was worse than COVID.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Trey looks super either deep in thought or inquisitive.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Well, hey, I've never had COVID, so I can't. I
- 2:21Speaker 4: have no comparison. The thing is always that gets me
- 2:23Speaker 4: with the flu is typically it's the high fever, and
- 2:28Speaker 4: it's the body aches. It's just, yes, absolutely feel like
- 2:32Speaker 4: you've been worked over with a baseball bat.
- 2:36Speaker 2: You cannot get comfortable. You just you can't. It hurts
- 2:41Speaker 2: to light down, it hurts to sit up, makes you
- 2:43Speaker 2: dizzy to sit up.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and you usually have a high fever until you're
- 2:48Speaker 4: sweating than the chills and your body and sweats, chills,
- 2:51Speaker 4: body aches are the three things that just absolutely suck
- 2:55Speaker 4: ass with the flumm.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Well, if you get it, or if you get some
- 3:01Speaker 1: other type of illness. There's a lady from Australia who
- 3:05Speaker 1: claims to have a magical elixir in which to get
- 3:12Speaker 1: rid of the illness. This is called a flu bomb.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So what is it? What is a flu bomb? And
- 3:21Speaker 1: most importantly does it work? There's a seven ingredient mixture
- 3:27Speaker 1: that it's Australian creator promises, promises that drinking it daily
- 3:34Speaker 1: can shorten illnesses from the flu, a cold, a sinus infection,
- 3:39Speaker 1: or just about any respiratory illness. You want to know
- 3:44Speaker 1: what's in it?
- 3:46Speaker 4: Yes? Who is the woman? Say?
- 3:50Speaker 1: I'm trying to see her name is hang on, hang on,
- 3:55Speaker 1: hang on, I'm finding it. There's her photo. Jesus Christ,
- 3:59Speaker 1: not need a drink?
- 4:02Speaker 4: Older gray haired lady.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Yes, older gray haired lady. Her name is Barbara O'Neill.
- 4:08Speaker 1: She is an brilliant alternative health care advocate.
- 4:11Speaker 4: And she's as a huge following for people that are
- 4:16Speaker 4: into like homeopathic stuff. She claims, I think like she
- 4:24Speaker 4: even claims she like she's older than she looks.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Really yeah, that must be really really an old Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Her name is Barbara O'Neill, and her flu bomb seven
- 4:42Speaker 1: ingredient recipe, she says, can eradicate illness, including the flu
- 4:49Speaker 1: ingredients of her homemade flu remedy are garlic. As much
- 4:56Speaker 1: as you can as much as you can stand followed
- 5:00Speaker 1: eucalyptus oil for clearing airways, ginger and honey, which are
- 5:06Speaker 1: both natural expectorants. As much cayenne pepper as one can
- 5:11Speaker 1: handle as the capsaican in pepper has been found to
- 5:14Speaker 1: relieve congestion and sneezing, followed by lemon juice and hot water.
- 5:20Speaker 1: She says, if you drink that three times per day
- 5:24Speaker 1: when your symptoms set in, and often after two or
- 5:28Speaker 1: three days, that's enough rid you of the flu.
- 5:34Speaker 2: When you have the flu, you will try anything.
- 5:37Speaker 1: It sounds like it from what you were describing. Trey,
- 5:40Speaker 1: you said, having the flu is like being worked over
- 5:42Speaker 1: with a bat. Jerry you said the last time you
- 5:45Speaker 1: had it, you welcome to death. So if a seven
- 5:50Speaker 1: ingredient concoction might alleviate some of those symptoms, line them up,
- 5:55Speaker 1: baby like. I don't know if they if they need
- 5:58Speaker 1: to be shots of this liquid or if it needs
- 6:00Speaker 1: to be you know, gulped out of a Stanley cup
- 6:04Speaker 1: at soccer practice from a soccer mom. I'll do it, yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I mean, go ahead.
- 6:11Speaker 4: A lot of those ingredients are what you find in
- 6:13Speaker 4: various things. I mean, it's nothing, right, groundbreaking, really.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, she's not telling you to, you know,
- 6:20Speaker 1: drink pink thinner or you know, boil a cow patty yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 1: or poor bleach in your ass or anything like that.
- 6:28Speaker 1: It's it's normal stuff that you know, you just kind
- 6:30Speaker 1: of you just put it all together. This actually sounds
- 6:32Speaker 1: a lot like one of those mixtures that people would
- 6:36Speaker 1: do to detox or to go through a fast, which
- 6:43Speaker 1: I mean, if it works, I mean right, it definitely
- 6:47Speaker 1: doesn't sound like an appetizing beveridge. I mean, seriously, think
- 6:52Speaker 1: about it. Here are the ingredients again, just think about
- 6:54Speaker 1: this now. Imagine you go to the grocery store, not
- 6:57Speaker 1: HB because CHIB wouldn't carry this stuff. You go to
- 6:59Speaker 1: a really shady grocery store and a weird part of town,
- 7:04Speaker 1: maybe the other side of the train tracks, and there's
- 7:05Speaker 1: someone with a free sample display, and they want you
- 7:09Speaker 1: to try some of this amazing new drink. And the
- 7:11Speaker 1: ingredients are garlic, eucalyptus oil, ginger, honey, cayenne, pepper, lemon, juice,
- 7:17Speaker 1: and hot water. If anything, you'll just vomit up the illness.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I love all of those things.
- 7:26Speaker 3: But if you were to subtract the garlic, that sounds
- 7:29Speaker 3: like a fancy hot toddy, But you put that garlic
- 7:32Speaker 3: juice in there.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I think to me, it's the garlic juice in the
- 7:36Speaker 1: eucalyptus oil that are the the party ruiners because ginger
- 7:43Speaker 1: and honey that works. The hot pepper with a cap safe,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and the lemon juice and the hot water.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Thank you're right.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That kind of sounds like just a flavorful, hot tiddy
- 7:51Speaker 1: kind of situation. But yeah, that garlic in the eucalyptus oil,
- 7:55Speaker 1: that'll that'll change your mood real fast.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah, all the garlic you can handle it, I think, Yeah, that's.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not just all the garlic you can handle,
- 8:06Speaker 1: but it's all the garlic that people around you can handle.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I mean, I'm on a high protein diet right now,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and I don't think you guys want to be in
- 8:14Speaker 1: here with me any longer than you have to.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Be, especially not after your your your pegging adventures.
- 8:23Speaker 1: That's out of context, tray that.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Damn it.
- 8:30Speaker 6: You You're in the visit us online a treehouseonair dot com.
- 8:41Speaker 1: That is out of context, and I don't have time
- 8:43Speaker 1: to put it in context. Time now to talk to
- 8:50Speaker 1: Daniel Cook from cook df W Roofing and restoration for
- 8:53Speaker 1: your free roof inspection and to get yourself on the
- 8:55Speaker 1: very important cook list eight three three cook df W
- 8:59Speaker 1: or the website cookdfw dot com. It's that time of season, Daniel,
- 9:03Speaker 1: and that season is of course people on their roofs
- 9:06Speaker 1: decorating for the holidays. Many people already have decorated, which
- 9:09Speaker 1: means they're going to take them down soon. And is
- 9:12Speaker 1: that when they're going to discover that maybe they did
- 9:14Speaker 1: little damage to their roof when they put up Santa
- 9:17Speaker 1: Claus and his reindeer man.
- 9:19Speaker 4: It is that time of the year.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Merry Christmas to you and everybody listening. And yes, sir,
- 9:24Speaker 5: we see a lot of roof damage, especially around the
- 9:29Speaker 5: edges of the people's homes. A lot of people will
- 9:32Speaker 5: skirt around the sides because they get scared about going
- 9:35Speaker 5: too far up and they kind of hold themselves up
- 9:38Speaker 5: around the edge as they're plugging the lights around, or
- 9:42Speaker 5: they'll hold the ladder against the side of the roof
- 9:44Speaker 5: and they'll damage the shingles all the way around the edges.
- 9:47Speaker 5: So there's a lot of things that happen to shingles,
- 9:49Speaker 5: and it may not damage it right away enough to leak,
- 9:52Speaker 5: but it's going to potentially.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Put it there.
- 9:54Speaker 5: So we always suggest having a roof checked out once
- 9:57Speaker 5: a year, at least obviously for all the weather you have,
- 10:00Speaker 5: but especially if you know you've had people on top
- 10:02Speaker 5: of your roof hanging lights or decorations, or you know
- 10:05Speaker 5: you see some shingles that are starting to fold on
- 10:07Speaker 5: the corner, so let us come out. Let's do an inspection.
- 10:10Speaker 5: May need some minor repairs, but it can save you
- 10:12Speaker 5: potentially thousands of dollars later.
- 10:14Speaker 1: On eight three three cook DFW. That's eight three three
- 10:17Speaker 1: cook DFW or that website cookdfw dot com.

- 10:44Speaker 1: love us on social media. So give us a follow
- 10:46Speaker 1: at Treehouse on Air. That is our handle across all
- 10:51Speaker 1: the major social media platforms at Treehouse on Air to
- 10:55Speaker 1: follow us on social media. I'm Dan along with Trey
- 10:59Speaker 1: and Jerry side the Treehouse. On a day January tenth,
- 11:03Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, something huge is happening this weekend, Tray,
- 11:09Speaker 1: you said the season finale of the first season of
- 11:13Speaker 1: land Man is on Sunday.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Yes, fantastic show.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Jerry. I'm not sure if you heard this the other day,
- 11:19Speaker 1: but Trey had told me, and I don't want to
- 11:23Speaker 1: quote you directly, but I'm just going to paraphrase, but
- 11:25Speaker 1: Trey says, land Man is the best show on television
- 11:28Speaker 1: right now.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Have you seen any of it, Jerry, not a bit. Okay,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I have not seen an episode yet, but because of
- 11:37Speaker 1: Trey's insistence and his love of land Man, We're going
- 11:42Speaker 1: to watch it tonight. We're going to watch our first
- 11:45Speaker 1: episode of land Man. We're going to take it all in.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So I did a little research on it just to
- 11:51Speaker 1: make sure I could, you know, because I had to
- 11:53Speaker 1: tell Terror what it is. I can't just tell her, well,
- 11:56Speaker 1: Trey loves it, because her response is, well, Trey hates
- 12:00Speaker 1: hates Elf, and if he hates Elf, then that messes
- 12:02Speaker 1: with his uh credibility. Elf is a horrible movie, not
- 12:07Speaker 1: according to my wife, So you know. So I looked
- 12:12Speaker 1: it up Landman. It's from the creator of Yellowstone. This
- 12:16Speaker 1: is his new show and uh it stars Billy Bob Thornton,
- 12:22Speaker 1: uh and it chronicles the Tell me if this sounds accurate, Tray,
- 12:26Speaker 1: what I looked up Landman stars Billy Bob Thornton and
- 12:29Speaker 1: chronicles the gritty tale of the dangerous oil business in
- 12:31Speaker 1: the boomtowns of West Texas.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Yeah. That's I mean, that's pretty accurate. It's it's just
- 12:43Speaker 4: it's a great show. It has a flare of you know,
- 12:47Speaker 4: uh Dallas Dynasty type drama.
- 12:53Speaker 8: Uh.
- 12:54Speaker 4: But but it also it is funny as hell when
- 12:57Speaker 4: he wrote this. When Taylor Sheridan wrote this, he had
- 13:00Speaker 4: to have had Billy Bob Thornton in mind, because the
- 13:03Speaker 4: lines Billy Bob Thornton has are just unbelievably good and
- 13:08Speaker 4: and just funny. I mean, watched the first episode and
- 13:14Speaker 4: you will. If you don't like it, then then you know,
- 13:19Speaker 4: I don't even know who you are. But yeah, it's
- 13:23Speaker 4: it's just a it's a fantastic show. I have not
- 13:26Speaker 4: I have not enjoyed a show like this in years.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Okay, that's that is definitely high praise. And it got
- 13:32Speaker 1: a lot of attention this week because I guess it
- 13:37Speaker 1: was a last week's episode or a previous episode. Had
- 13:42Speaker 1: one hell of a cameo in it, Yes, Camp, and
- 13:46Speaker 1: that cameo was by none other than the owner and
- 13:50Speaker 1: general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Jones and clearly and I'm Jerry, and this isn't saying
- 14:02Speaker 4: much because it's it's clearly a better actor than he
- 14:05Speaker 4: is a general manager.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Well, let's find out. Because I've not seen this, Trey.
- 14:13Speaker 1: You sent this, and I've waited to watch it until
- 14:17Speaker 1: live here on the show. So I just want to
- 14:18Speaker 1: watch this. This is from I'll Landman.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I'll give a little bit of a setup for this.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, please.
- 14:25Speaker 4: John Hamm is the billionaire oil guy that everyone works for.
- 14:29Speaker 4: He is in the hospital after his fourth heart attack
- 14:32Speaker 4: because it's all work. He's neglecting his family everything else,
- 14:35Speaker 4: obviously oil Man Jerry oil Man. So Jerry is basically
- 14:39Speaker 4: telling a story about why he's done the things he's done.
- 14:44Speaker 4: And there you go.
- 14:48Speaker 8: And So when I got to Calmbo, was I got
- 14:50Speaker 8: it so that we could all work together. I thought
- 14:55Speaker 8: I was doing it for them, But the one that
- 14:59Speaker 8: got the most out of it it was me. I
- 15:04Speaker 8: just know it's not gonna be this time. But you're
- 15:06Speaker 8: gonna be sitting here sometime in the future, laying here
- 15:08Speaker 8: sometime in the future, and this room's gonna be full
- 15:13Speaker 8: of your business associates and the people you worked with
- 15:15Speaker 8: all your life, and more than likely your children and
- 15:19Speaker 8: family gonna be there because they are your children and
- 15:22Speaker 8: your family. But you could have them there because they're
- 15:27Speaker 8: the people you spent your life with, you worked with,
- 15:29Speaker 8: you fell down with, you got up with, just Thanksgiving, Christmas.
- 15:39Speaker 8: That's who you want to be with.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Wow, Holy crap.
- 15:45Speaker 4: And then.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And then I guess he walked off down the hallway
- 15:50Speaker 1: to find his measure and tape.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Now he's in West Texas. He's looking for a glory whole.
- 16:02Speaker 4: You know what?
- 16:03Speaker 1: That actually makes sense. Jerry Jones acting was so good
- 16:05Speaker 1: in Landman that Paramount has already announced a spin off
- 16:08Speaker 1: show called Gloryhole. I'd watch that.
- 16:15Speaker 9: You are any good?

- 16:54Speaker 1: slash Treehouse on Air. That's Patreon dot com slash Treehouse
- 16:58Speaker 1: on Air to get tree House Plus. I gotta admit
- 17:03Speaker 1: I'm still kind of reeling from that clip of Jerry
- 17:06Speaker 1: Jones on land Man. That was I hate, I don't
- 17:11Speaker 1: like giving Jerry Jones credit very much, but he was
- 17:15Speaker 1: looking good.
- 17:16Speaker 2: No, that was really good. That made me feel things.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And usually when usually when Jerry Jones is making me
- 17:22Speaker 1: feel things, just because I'm really mad.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that was And that was just a snippet
- 17:28Speaker 4: his scenes probably two and a half three minutes and uh,
- 17:31Speaker 4: I mean, and he's damn good.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And uh, he's in a room. He's in a room
- 17:37Speaker 1: in that scene, in a hospital room with two very
- 17:41Speaker 1: very fine actors and John Hamm and Billy Bob Thornton.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Billy Bob Thornton, I believe. Is he an Academy Award winner?
- 17:49Speaker 2: Uh, pretty much he's not.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I think he was at least nominated in Monsters Ball,
- 17:54Speaker 1: because isn't that what halle Berry didn't she win for
- 17:57Speaker 1: Monsters Ball. I wasn't necessarily sure if that was because
- 18:00Speaker 1: her acting was so good or because she had to
- 18:03Speaker 1: have a sex scene with Billy Bob Thornton. But whatever
- 18:06Speaker 1: the case, and I think John Hamm has won an
- 18:08Speaker 1: Emmy from Mad Men. Whatever the case is. In that room,
- 18:11Speaker 1: you got Jerry Jones, Billy Bob Thornton, John Hamm. Those
- 18:15Speaker 1: are two outstanding actors.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Yeah he didn't. Did Billy Bob win for sling Blade?
- 18:20Speaker 8: Uh?
- 18:21Speaker 2: A word for best rating?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Well, he's got one. So it's like, it's not like
- 18:28Speaker 1: Jerry Jones is in there with a bunch of you know,
- 18:31Speaker 1: day players. He's in there with two bona fide successful
- 18:35Speaker 1: marquee actors. And not only does he hold his own,
- 18:38Speaker 1: he actually owns the room.
- 18:41Speaker 2: That was really, really good.
- 18:43Speaker 1: All right, I'm convinced. We'll watch it tonight, Trey.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Listen when you get I believe it's in the first episode.
- 18:52Speaker 4: The scene between Billy Bob and his daughter girl that
- 18:58Speaker 4: plays his daughter on TV. That scene alone is one
- 19:01Speaker 4: of the just funniest scenes and most awkward funny scenes.
- 19:09Speaker 1: You'll you'll you'll like it. When I get there, I'll
- 19:13Speaker 1: let you know. I'll shoot you text or something. All right.
- 19:16Speaker 1: So let's go from something completely touching and I don't know,
- 19:22Speaker 1: noteworthy to something that's noteworthy in its own right, although
- 19:27Speaker 1: on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Okay, fart
- 19:32Speaker 1: experts have found gas can leak out of your mouth
- 19:35Speaker 1: if you hold it in for too long.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Oh yes, and the cult burp.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Ah, it's not it's not quite. It's different. It's because
- 19:47Speaker 1: it comes from a different place. Fart experts find that
- 19:53Speaker 1: gas can leak out of your mouth if you hold
- 19:55Speaker 1: it in for too long.
- 19:56Speaker 10: Let's puick.
- 19:57Speaker 1: You want to pick apart this dingle berry of stupid?
- 20:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I would love to. And starting off of how
- 20:05Speaker 4: does one get designated a fart expert?
- 20:09Speaker 1: That's a great question. I've been thinking about that ever
- 20:13Speaker 1: since I saw this story, Like was that something like
- 20:17Speaker 1: were you in school one day and career day happened
- 20:20Speaker 1: and in walked in the fart expert and you said
- 20:23Speaker 1: that I want to be that someday. According to Claire Collins,
- 20:29Speaker 1: who is a nutrition and dietetics professor at the University
- 20:34Speaker 1: of Newcastle, she says holding in a fart might not
- 20:39Speaker 1: be a good idea. She explains that trapped intestinal gas
- 20:44Speaker 1: can reabsorb into your bloodstream, eventually escaping through your breath,
- 20:51Speaker 1: or it could lead to an uncontrollable release later, something
- 20:55Speaker 1: we all know as a surprise fart or a fart shocker.
- 21:00Speaker 1: She goes on to say that prolonged gas retention might
- 21:03Speaker 1: even contribute to abdominal discomfort or potential gut issues, though
- 21:08Speaker 1: research remains unclear on long term effects, so hint, hint, researchers,
- 21:14Speaker 1: there's an opportunity here for a long term study on
- 21:16Speaker 1: the effects of holding in farts. And I have to
- 21:20Speaker 1: admit I wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall
- 21:22Speaker 1: for that pitch to get that grant money.
- 21:25Speaker 4: I'd just like to say that I think this is
- 21:27Speaker 4: a sign of of gender equality because I was not
- 21:32Speaker 4: expecting that it was going to be a woman who
- 21:34Speaker 4: was a fart expert.
- 21:35Speaker 1: It's true, young girls everywhere need to know that they
- 21:39Speaker 1: too can grow up to become a fartress.
- 21:42Speaker 4: But if there was someone who is going to be
- 21:44Speaker 4: an expert about holding it in, damn, damn, damn, damn.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Well yeah, really, really good on you.
- 22:04Speaker 7: You're in the tree House.

- 22:48Speaker 1: Danielmalley along with Trey Trentholm and Jerry Caldwell inside the
- 22:52Speaker 1: Treehouse today, and uh, it is the first Friday. It's
- 22:57Speaker 1: the first Friday show of the new year. And one
- 23:00Speaker 1: way in which I like to celebrate things is with
- 23:03Speaker 1: a game.
- 23:03Speaker 2: So let's do that.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It is time right now for believe it or not?
- 23:12Speaker 1: Inside the Treehouse, Trey, Jerry, I'm going to read a
- 23:16Speaker 1: statement and you have to tell me whether you believe
- 23:19Speaker 1: it or not. You guys ready, yep, I am here
- 23:27Speaker 1: we go, believe it or not. Smarty's candy was originally
- 23:37Speaker 1: created for soldiers in World War One to give them
- 23:40Speaker 1: a boost of energy and happiness before charging out of
- 23:44Speaker 1: their trenches into no man's land. Believe it or not.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Smarty's candy was originally created for soldiers in World War
- 23:53Speaker 1: One to give them boost of energy and happiness before
- 23:56Speaker 1: charging out of their trenches into no man's land. Jerry,
- 24:02Speaker 1: do you believe it or not? I believe it, Trey.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Do you believe it or not?
- 24:13Speaker 4: You know, that's just just odd enough that I'm gonna
- 24:17Speaker 4: go with yes, I believe it all right.
- 24:21Speaker 1: You are bulk wrong. You should not have You should
- 24:24Speaker 1: not have believed that at all whatsoever. I I made
- 24:28Speaker 1: up a good chunk of that story. But there is
- 24:33Speaker 1: some truth too, Smarties coming out of World War One.
- 24:38Speaker 1: This is the part you can believe. Smarties did come
- 24:42Speaker 1: from World War One. They were originally made using repurposed
- 24:47Speaker 1: gunpowder pellet machines. Okay. In nineteen forty nine, a man
- 24:53Speaker 1: named Edward d. Transformed the machinery of war into an
- 24:57Speaker 1: instrument of joy. Inspired by his family's candy making heritage,
- 25:02Speaker 1: he swapped munitions for confections, using the machine to compress
- 25:05Speaker 1: powdered flavors like cinnamon and clove into the tiny candy pellets.
- 25:10Speaker 1: He immigrated from the United Kingdom to the United States,
- 25:13Speaker 1: founded C. D Candy in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and over
- 25:17Speaker 1: the years, Smarties evolved into the fruity flavors that we
- 25:21Speaker 1: know today, like orange, strawberry, grape, cherry, pineapple, and orange cream,
- 25:25Speaker 1: and of course those became a staple for Halloween, birthdays,
- 25:29Speaker 1: school events, and whatnot. Today, the company produces over thirty
- 25:35Speaker 1: billion pellets annually, operating around the clock in factories in
- 25:39Speaker 1: both the United States and Canada.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Pretty impressive.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Edward D's vision turned a symbol of destruction into a
- 25:46Speaker 1: worldwide phenomenon, all while remaining a family run business. He
- 25:51Speaker 1: passed away in twenty nineteen at the age of ninety five,
- 25:56Speaker 1: and his legacy continues to remind us of the power
- 25:59Speaker 1: of transformation, proving that even machines of war can bring
- 26:03Speaker 1: sweetness to the world. That's pretty impressive to go in
- 26:08Speaker 1: a room into a machine of war that was used
- 26:12Speaker 1: to make machine gun parts and say I'm gonna turn
- 26:14Speaker 1: this into candy. Mm hmmm, I mean that's I mean,
- 26:19Speaker 1: if we're being honest, that that right there is some
- 26:21Speaker 1: wonka level.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Yeah, that's impressive.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Yeah, imagine going imagine going into an armory and thinking,
- 26:32Speaker 1: you know what, this place needs a chocolate river. So
- 26:40Speaker 1: that is that is a big takeaway from today. Smarties
- 26:44Speaker 1: did come from World War One and they were made
- 26:47Speaker 1: using a machine of war. Uh, that's it really is
- 26:52Speaker 1: an amazing thing to to be able to have that
- 26:55Speaker 1: type of a vision.
- 26:58Speaker 8: Uh.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Why does this I'll say this slightly of gunpowder.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think they had the gunpowder flavor necessarily
- 27:07Speaker 1: as as a feature. I do wonder though, if the
- 27:10Speaker 1: first few that came out of the machine did have
- 27:12Speaker 1: a little bit of that taste to it. This smoky's
- 27:16Speaker 1: this Smarty is a little smoky for me. But I'll
- 27:20Speaker 1: tell you this, I'll never look at a Smarty the
- 27:22Speaker 1: same way again. Although now I'm wondering if they can
- 27:26Speaker 1: actually make a machine gun shoot candy. Or maybe that's
- 27:32Speaker 1: just like the next Banksy painting that we'll find it
- 27:34Speaker 1: on alleyway somewhere.
- 27:41Speaker 4: What's that you brought up, Banksy? Did you see one
- 27:45Speaker 4: of his pieces got auctioned off? This is a couple
- 27:48Speaker 4: a month or two ago. Guy paid like six million
- 27:51Speaker 4: for it at the auction. After the bidding is done
- 27:55Speaker 4: and he won. Banksy had installed a paper shredder at
- 27:59Speaker 4: the bottom, and so the painting just drops down and
- 28:03Speaker 4: it shreds, so then it's just sitting there in pieces.
- 28:08Speaker 4: The guy who bought it was like, oh my god,
- 28:10Speaker 4: it's even better than it was before. And they now
- 28:12Speaker 4: estimate that it's worth more money shredded. Uh huh, which
- 28:16Speaker 4: is because of the backfire to Banksy, who did it
- 28:18Speaker 4: just to give you for paintings going for that much.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I was expecting the rich guy to be super
- 28:23Speaker 1: angry about it, in which case I'd be really happy
- 28:25Speaker 1: about that. I love when rich people get screwed.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Nope, nope, he got screwed and it made him more
- 28:32Speaker 4: money't rich people.

- 29:30Speaker 1: is on. Dan and Trey and Jerry back with you
- 29:34Speaker 1: inside the Treehouse. It's a big day. It's Friday, so
- 29:39Speaker 1: let's celebrate with birthdays. January tenth, twenty twenty Fivekay, it's
- 29:48Speaker 1: four birthdays today. Sarah Shahi from Blackadam and Person of
- 29:56Speaker 1: Interest is forty five today. And if I remember it correctly,
- 30:01Speaker 1: Uless Trinity's own Sarah Shahi forty five today. So if
- 30:06Speaker 1: you remember her from the Black Adam movie, which I yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 1: I saw it.
- 30:12Speaker 4: I went to the theater. I saw it. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 30:16Speaker 4: you've had high hopes for that one. But it's in
- 30:20Speaker 4: DC fashion it disappointed.
- 30:22Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yeah, the D and d C stands for a disappointments
- 30:25Speaker 1: appointment yep, yep. It's weird because The Rock is supposedly
- 30:31Speaker 1: one of the most bankable movie stars on the planet.
- 30:34Speaker 1: He is always near or at the top of celebrities
- 30:39Speaker 1: that made the most money for the previous year. But honestly,
- 30:43Speaker 1: his movies are real kind of hit her miss and
- 30:45Speaker 1: mostly lately it seemed more like missus. Keep in mind though,
- 30:50Speaker 1: the Jungle Book, No, the Jumanji, Jumanji, the Jumanji movies.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I absolutely loved both of them. I thought those were
- 31:03Speaker 1: fun and fantastic.
- 31:04Speaker 4: And he did one like Jungle Something Jungle Cruise. Yeah, yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 4: that was good. I saw that you liked that.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I was surprised that was one of those who like
- 31:14Speaker 1: Disney is Disney is going this model where they're not
- 31:17Speaker 1: only taking some of their animated movies and making them
- 31:23Speaker 1: live action things, but they're they also with the Jungle
- 31:27Speaker 1: Cruise did it with their ride, just the ride, the
- 31:30Speaker 1: Jungle Cruise. They took the ride as the inspiration and
- 31:33Speaker 1: turned that into a movie starring The Rock, Dwayne Johnson
- 31:37Speaker 1: and Emily Blunt, who I absolutely adore. I think she's amazing.
- 31:42Speaker 4: And I think I read that the Vin Diesel and
- 31:46Speaker 4: the Rock have made up, and so the Rock is
- 31:49Speaker 4: gonna come back to the Fast and the furious.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I see that every so often. My new suggestions occasionally
- 31:57Speaker 1: show me that they've made up. They had like a
- 31:59Speaker 1: beef for a while, which is not surprising between two meatheads.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And I never really know who was at fault because,
- 32:08Speaker 1: in very unlike Hollywood fashion, there's not a whole lot
- 32:12Speaker 1: of details about what the problem was. There's little nuggets
- 32:15Speaker 1: here and there, but usually Hollywood spills their guts on
- 32:18Speaker 1: this type of stuff, and I really don't know who
- 32:20Speaker 1: was the jerk in the scenario.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Everythink I've read said Vin Diesel got a little big
- 32:25Speaker 4: for his bridges, thinking yo, he was a more bankable
- 32:29Speaker 4: star than the Rock.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah that ain't true. Yeah, no, No, I think anyone
- 32:34Speaker 1: with common sense knows if given the choice between two
- 32:40Speaker 1: movies at the theater, one stars Vin Diesel and the
- 32:42Speaker 1: other stars of the Rock, I'm gonna go with I'm
- 32:44Speaker 1: gonna go with the Rock, right, just shut up and
- 32:47Speaker 1: say I am groot. That still makes me sick. That
- 32:53Speaker 1: still makes me sick that he makes any money on
- 32:55Speaker 1: that whatsoever? Like fifty three million is with the oh
- 33:00Speaker 1: you no he does no, not for not for three words?
- 33:04Speaker 1: Uh huh oh yeah, no no, no, no, no, Trey No,
- 33:11Speaker 1: I mean fast and the furious is bad enough, But
- 33:13Speaker 1: fifty three million dollars just from saying I am groote
- 33:17Speaker 1: yep me, I hate rich people.
- 33:23Speaker 7: You're in the tree house.
- 33:25Speaker 9: Visit us online a treehouse on air dot com.
- 33:30Speaker 10: Really, yeah, well, you're in the tree house.
- 33:53Speaker 9: Visit us online a treehouse on air dot com.
- 34:10Speaker 1: It is a Fried's day inside the treehouse. Thank you,
- 34:36Speaker 1: Mike Reno and love her boy. Uh, I'm there. I
- 34:41Speaker 1: still feel like there was a little bit left of
- 34:43Speaker 1: that dingleberry from the farting out of your mouth story
- 34:47Speaker 1: we talked about earlier. Uh, and and that is uh
- 34:51Speaker 1: the fart expert Claire Collins.
- 34:55Speaker 8: Uh.
- 34:55Speaker 1: The study she did on dietary intake and flatulence and
- 34:59Speaker 1: all found. In addition to her finding that gas can
- 35:03Speaker 1: leak out of your mouth if you hold it in
- 35:05Speaker 1: for too long, she also found that high fiber diets
- 35:10Speaker 1: result in fewer but larger farts. So how's that for
- 35:16Speaker 1: something to learn inside the treehouse today? All right, high
- 35:20Speaker 1: fiber diets result in fewer but larger farts.
- 35:23Speaker 4: So if.
- 35:25Speaker 1: If you want to blow big more fiber based on
- 35:30Speaker 1: the amount of fiber and protein I've been eating over
- 35:32Speaker 1: the last week, that's true. Researchers also suggest that it's
- 35:38Speaker 1: better for your digestive health to release gas when the
- 35:41Speaker 1: need arises, preferably in a private setting, to avoid unnecessary
- 35:46Speaker 1: pressure on your system. So, like a lot of things,
- 35:50Speaker 1: if you have a system that's contained and pressure is building,
- 35:54Speaker 1: you need to let it go. You can't keep it
- 35:58Speaker 1: bottled up because that's when bad things could happen. So
- 36:04Speaker 1: just keep that in mind. But I was curious, Yes, yeah,
- 36:08Speaker 1: but I am curious about this with researchers finding that
- 36:11Speaker 1: gas can leak out of your mouth if you hold
- 36:13Speaker 1: it in for too long. If you could fart out
- 36:16Speaker 1: of your mouth, would you do it? I mean, it
- 36:23Speaker 1: really does take to a whole new level. No, No, no,
- 36:29Speaker 1: I think I would.
- 36:30Speaker 2: I eat enough s on a regular basis, not literally,
- 36:35Speaker 2: not that literally, not literally, but.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Working in radio tastes like it, but not literally. Figuratively, yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 1: lots of it. I think I think if I could
- 36:47Speaker 1: fart out of my mouth, I think I'd do it,
- 36:49Speaker 1: And then i'd I'd be really into telling people's secrets,
- 36:59Speaker 1: and you guys as would never trust me again.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Well, I'm just curious, Dan, uh, are these stories popping
- 37:07Speaker 4: up on your feet just because of the new foundin
- 37:08Speaker 4: love of pegging? Give me a moment.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I gotta I gotta find.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Do you trade.
- 37:24Speaker 1: With your own ass all the way deep deep right
- 37:32Speaker 1: in your own ass?
- 37:37Speaker 4: You want to tell me a secret?
- 37:39Speaker 1: I do living in real close, Living in real close, mother,
- 37:48Speaker 1: I got something big to tell you.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Yeah, right in there.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Tell you what, Trey, If you ever want me to
- 37:59Speaker 1: set you up on al, I'd be happy to because
- 38:01Speaker 1: then I can I can tell I can tell her
- 38:04Speaker 1: that you're the biggest dick I know. For all things Treehouse,
