Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: I was uh scrolling yesterday.
- 0:01SPEAKER_01: This is before all the Dolly stuff came out.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: And I was scrolling yesterday and I came across uh this kind of odd hack and I don't think I've ever heard of it.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Have you ever marinated chicken and Dr.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: Pepper?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Okay, not chicken, but we used to have this coworker, her name was Susie McCool.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I'll never forget this.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: When she worked here, I was pretty young and I wasn't into cooking very much at all.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: But she told me that she would take her roast and she would put Dr.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Pepper in the crock pot.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Like a roast beef?
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Like uh, you know, like a pork roast.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Like a chuck roast.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Chuck roast.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, like beef, yeah.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And she would so she would say, like, oh, I put this, you know, salt, pepper, garlic, tenderizer, and Dr.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Pepper.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: And dang was she right.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: It's so good.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Here's what I would do differently now, though, and this is just me being me.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: I would use Dr.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Pepper Zero Sugar because it is, or like a diet Dr.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Pepper.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It is just as good, if not better, and you're still gonna get the taste.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: That's just my own swap.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Debatable, I'll give it that.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Um but I feel like using pop with me is been something that's been I mean, forever.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, I've heard ginger ale with ham.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Ginger ale with ham, spray with ham, seven up with ham.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, I've heard that.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: This one though was people are saying what tastes chicken better.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: What tastes chicken better?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: I Scott, me broken English here.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Call me Yoda.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Yesterday I said wonder and fighting.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Well, we're right on track again today.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Uh no, they say before uh placing them on the grill, better than beer canned chicken, which by the way is delicious.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: And there's something about the uh uh it just it keeps it so moist.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Juicy.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I was gonna say moist, but your juicy's better.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Uh anyway, they say uh marinated in Dr.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Pepper.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Chicken has a bit of sweet tang to it.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: And TikTok chefs started this trend.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: But you said that, well, Susie, who used to work here, did it with beef.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: I'd never heard that.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: That makes sense now.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Uh and Chuck is one of those Chuck is one of those uh uh meats that stand-up guys.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm just kidding.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, good, good, good guys, Chuck.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: No, Chuck's a tougher meat, so you gotta find a way to make it, well, loose.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Right, exactly, which is why she does the tenderizer and the Dr.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Pepper.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Would you try just Dr.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Pepper with chicken?
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, of course.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: And then grilling it.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I would do it uh if it's one of those things like 4th of July, Labor Day, when I'm like that's right in front of you, Labor Day.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Right, when I'm like all calories out the window, who cares?
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Then or if you see me in these tight jeans today, I'm sorry.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: And you then you know she drank a lot of all sugar pie.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Dr.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Pepper.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Um that being said, I wouldn't be surprised that John 317, who's like become the official smoker of the uh of the show, uh, wouldn't be surprised if he would do that.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: I would try this.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: I I honestly would.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I think I'd I'd give it, I have a Dr.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Pepper sitting in the fridge at home.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: You should love it.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Let's give it a shot.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Anybody do this?
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Anybody that uh uh that knows it?
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously, like we said, we know the ginger ale sprites seven up with ham is something that I've never done, but I heard it works.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: You've done it with beef now with the with the Dr.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Pepper.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Anybody does it with the chicken?
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Is this an old trick that you've done?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: My aunt has another little hack.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: It's not with it's not with Dr.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Pepper at all, but it this is the best chicken I've ever had.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: It was vinegar and then jalapeno juice, lemon juice, and some jalapenos.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: And it's instant heartburn the second that it hits your palate.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: It's so good.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Just a little bit, just a little bit.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: It goes a long way.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: I would say so.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And then take the jalapenos off if you don't want it to have that little spiciness.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Uh, speaking of Labor Day being right in front of us, guys, as a reminder, with everything else going on today, don't forget to hit up the app, either Wink106, uh, My Radio Jams, or Twin Tears Magic.
