- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today I want to talk to you about a question that I got from
- 0:33a client when she said to me, you know, I don't know what I
- 0:37want to do. I feel like I am completely and
- 0:41totally in this state of, you know, discovery maybe or despair
- 0:46because I don't know what to do. I keep thinking I know what I
- 0:49want to do, but then when I try it, I'm not excited about it.
- 0:53And I keep going down this rabbit hole, so to speak, of
- 0:55being lost and not knowing what I want to do.
- 0:57And I think a lot of us are like that.
- 1:00I know sometimes for myself, I feel that way.
- 1:03I think it's very common. I think a lot of us have
- 1:08multiple things we're interested in.
- 1:10Therefore we feel like we're directionless a lot of times and
- 1:14we don't know what way to go. And I think it is so common in
- 1:20the in human nature to always be looking for what's next or
- 1:25what's better or what could be better or where should I go from
- 1:28here that we think that means we're lost.
- 1:31And I'm here to tell you it doesn't mean you're lost at all.
- 1:35It's it actually is an opportunity.
- 1:37It's exciting. It's something that you can look
- 1:40at and say this is not a bad thing.
- 1:43I mean, trust me, not a bad thing.
- 1:47If you stay there forever, then it's a bad thing.
- 1:50But when you're just there and it's a temporary thing or it's
- 1:54for a short period of time, it's OK because you have to change
- 1:59the language around it. You have to change your beliefs
- 2:01around it. And you have to look at it like
- 2:03I am in a state of possibility. I am in a state of open to all
- 2:08the opportunities that are showing up with me and, and be
- 2:12in an energy of excitement of what that can bring to you.
- 2:16So again, this is all about your perspective.
- 2:21And I know we've talked about that before, but I can't drive
- 2:25this home enough. And when this question came up
- 2:28about like, you know, what do you do when you just feel like
- 2:30you don't know what to do and you feel like you're just, you
- 2:33know, it all over the place. Look at it from a different
- 2:37point of view. Instead of saying it's a bad
- 2:39thing, say this is a great thing.
- 2:41I'm in a wild state of possibility right now.
- 2:43I can go in any direction I want.
- 2:45I can create whatever I want. I can move in any direction I
- 2:48want. I could build out the current
- 2:51business I'm in. I could create a new business, I
- 2:53could get a new job. I could create anything that I
- 2:55want in my life. Even if it's just down to
- 2:56something simple like, you know, creating a piece of art or
- 3:01making a quilt or learning how to cook or doing anything that
- 3:04excites you. It adds possibility.
- 3:07When you have possibility framework in your brain, you are
- 3:11going to be much easier on yourself and you're going to be
- 3:15in that state of what do I always say curiosity?
- 3:18Because curiosity is the power state.
- 3:21Curiosity is such a gift. And when we are in a state of
- 3:24curiosity, we have absolute power because we can look at
- 3:29things and we don't put it all on ourselves to say I've got to
- 3:32make a decision because we're just in a state of curiosity.
- 3:36And when you're curious, you ask better questions, you show up
- 3:39better you for yourself, you show up better for others, you
- 3:42don't make judgments and you're just collecting information,
- 3:45you're curating things. So I, I want to, I want to
- 3:50emphasize that when you're in this, one of the tools that is
- 3:53very important and primarily something that I use
- 3:58consistently, it's grab a notebook, grab a journal, start
- 4:01writing things down. What are all my possibilities?
- 4:04What are my curious thoughts? What are the things that I need
- 4:08to be thinking about doing, paying attention to because or,
- 4:12or, or even the thoughts just even if it's just a conscious
- 4:15stream of thought running and you write it on the paper.
- 4:18You know that exercise in itself when your brain is on overload
- 4:22and you sit down, you grab a pen and paper and you just start
- 4:25putting it and you just start writing.
- 4:26What are all my random thoughts? Once you see them on paper, you
- 4:29can say, well, this is bullshit or this is good.
- 4:32You can say I want to keep this or I want to get rid of it.
- 4:34You can say, well, this is absolute ridiculousness.
- 4:36I don't even want to keep that here.
- 4:37This is dumb. I don't want to think this
- 4:39again. It makes it so much easier to
- 4:42sort out all the things that are running in your head.
- 4:45And often times where the the problem with being in this state
- 4:49comes in is when you're staying in your head by yourself.
- 4:53Boy, that is very much a place of, you know, danger, danger,
- 5:00danger because it allows you to believe what you're thinking.
- 5:04And what we think is not always true.
- 5:06You know, this is how people get into trouble.
- 5:09This is how people get into despair.
- 5:11This is how depression develops. It's one of those points where
- 5:14when you don't share with other people, when you don't have a
- 5:17safe place to share with other people, even if it's on paper,
- 5:22as simple as on paper, gets it out of your head.
- 5:25It's a beginning. And I can't tell you how much I
- 5:28encourage my clients to do this, encourage all of you to do this
- 5:32because it will help you sort it out.
- 5:34So rather than going to a state of Oh no, going to a state of
- 5:40curiosity, going to a state of possibility, reframe this for
- 5:44yourself. Put it on paper, start to like,
- 5:48you know, process it and actually find somebody that even
- 5:52you that you can even sit down with and brainstorm about this
- 5:55with. But pick somebody that you know,
- 5:57has a more positive frame of mind.
- 6:00Don't go to the person that's going to be like, oh, you know,
- 6:03the Debbie Downer of it all and not wanting to see possibilities
- 6:07with you. Pick somebody that you know is
- 6:09great to share with. And if you can't, if you don't,
- 6:12let's say you don't know somebody, I'm telling you, if
- 6:15you go and you start looking, even if you go to meetup.com and
- 6:18you start looking for, you know, groups on there that are all
- 6:22about manifesting and goal setting and all that, you will
- 6:24find something there. It is absolutely one of the best
- 6:28resources out there. If you've never tried it,
- 6:30meeting meetup.com is amazing. Put in your zip code and you'll
- 6:34find something. But don't keep it in your own
- 6:37head, OK? So get busy, get working on it
- 6:41and I will see you guys tomorrow.
- 6:44Have a very blessed day my friends.
- 6:46Bye.
