- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Agan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 0:16Speaker 1: a former Hallmark hater. On today's episode, we are discussing
- 0:19Speaker 1: Texas two Step, which originally aired on the Hallmark Channel
- 0:22Speaker 1: on Saturday, June thirteenth and is now streaming on Hallmark Plus.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Check us out all over social media where we like
- 0:30Speaker 1: to hang out. We are Girls Gone Hamemark everywhere, Blue
- 0:33Speaker 1: Sky threads, Facebook. We got a group over on Facebook
- 0:36Speaker 1: that is killer, and of course Instagram. I think you
- 0:40Speaker 1: covered it not at all. Let's hop right into this
- 0:45Speaker 1: Texas two Step discussion with a synopsis. Sure, Olivia returns
- 0:49Speaker 1: to Texas to help her aunt and her country music
- 0:52Speaker 1: bar that's fallen on hard times, and reconnects with Luke,
- 0:57Speaker 1: her childhood sweetheart turned cowboy and her passion for dancing
- 1:02Speaker 1: turned cowboy. I was gonna say it seems like he
- 1:05Speaker 1: was like fully cowboy ready. There's no way that was
- 1:08Speaker 1: a new addition to his personality. Who write it's these?
- 1:13Speaker 1: I did not write this. This is completely lifted from
- 1:15Speaker 1: the Hallmark website. Avid Tavara is directed to EXAs two Step.
- 1:20Speaker 1: This is her seventh directorial project and second movie for Hallmark.
- 1:24Speaker 1: She directed last year's Christmas Baby. Do you remember she
- 1:27Speaker 1: is one of those female directors that's part of the
- 1:31Speaker 1: Make Her Mark program.
- 1:34Speaker 2: She was one of the first.
- 1:35Speaker 1: This one was written by Mel Cowen, who has just
- 1:38Speaker 1: five writing credits and this is his first Hallmark project. Look,
- 1:42Speaker 1: I had to look up this writer. Yeah, he's our
- 1:45Speaker 1: actor and writer. He comes from the a UCB background. Oh,
- 1:51Speaker 1: which is kind of interesting, right it is? Yeah. UCB
- 1:55Speaker 1: is a like a I want to call it a
- 1:57Speaker 1: comedy troupe, but I don't improv improv of school. I'm
- 2:02Speaker 1: quoting school. I don't know exactly the right terminology. A
- 2:06Speaker 1: lot of comedians and actors start there. Yeah, I mean
- 2:10Speaker 1: I think if you looked it up, who's come out
- 2:11Speaker 1: of UCB, A lot of comedic actors would show up.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I mean Elizabeth lame At yours of course. I mean
- 2:18Speaker 1: if you guys don't know who Elizabeth Lamee is, why
- 2:20Speaker 1: don't you check out our patreon That's right, patrion dot com.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Slash Mega and Wendy.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Heather Hemmon stars as Olivia. This is her thirty second
- 2:28Speaker 1: acting credit and we last saw her in The Snow
- 2:30Speaker 1: Must Go On. Brendan Penny co stars as Luke this
- 2:34Speaker 1: Marxist sixty fifth acting credit. We last saw him in
- 2:37Speaker 1: The More the Merrier and Merry Christmas Ted Cooper. Hey, Wendy,
- 2:41Speaker 1: what was your first impression of Texas two Step Cowboy
- 2:45Speaker 1: Take Me Away? I was gonna try to sing it,
- 2:48Speaker 1: and as I was driving to your house today, I
- 2:50Speaker 1: was like trying to see what it was sound like
- 2:53Speaker 1: in the car. I was like, Yeah, I'm not gonna
- 2:54Speaker 1: do that. It's the spoken word edition well of yours.
- 2:59Speaker 1: My first impression is remember when we thought Brendan Penny
- 3:02Speaker 1: and Glasses was the superior Brendan Penny. That's because we
- 3:06Speaker 1: hadn't seen him in a cowboy hat. You are correct.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I texted Meghan while I was watching this movie last
- 3:12Speaker 1: night and I was like, Brendan Penny's really selling this
- 3:15Speaker 1: Cowboy h like the whole way through. Right. I have
- 3:21Speaker 1: to admit I may have doubted his ability to pull
- 3:25Speaker 1: off Cowboy prior to this. I think I agree with
- 3:29Speaker 1: you all. Apologies. I am eating my words because he
- 3:33Speaker 1: nailed it. He nailed it from top to bottom. He
- 3:37Speaker 1: had the colloquialisms, he had the slow mannerism of sucking.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I mean, I can't think of anybody else I would
- 3:45Speaker 1: have wanted to see in this role. Me neither well done,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Brendan Penny, well freaking done. Let's talk what we liked. Oh,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I thought we just did. I'm just kidding, Listen. I
- 3:57Speaker 1: really liked the honky tong feeling of this of sweet Waters.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I don't love the name Sweetwaters. It reminded me of
- 4:05Speaker 1: sweetbreads with your brains. I thought there were testicles something
- 4:09Speaker 1: like that. There's some sort of animal part. Anyway. I
- 4:13Speaker 1: don't like the name of the bar, but I liked
- 4:15Speaker 1: the idea of the bar. The bar was popping off.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It was a place where I would want to go.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It felt very real. Yes, I just thought they nailed it.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Sometimes you know homemark, it gives you full bar. Well,
- 4:27Speaker 1: they actually packed it full of people, which was nice,
- 4:29Speaker 1: exactly exactly, and they were like drinking beers. And I
- 4:35Speaker 1: had great music. It wasn't weird like off country music, right,
- 4:40Speaker 1: it was good music. It was a place that I
- 4:43Speaker 1: felt like people would want to hang out at and
- 4:46Speaker 1: rally around, you know, to help save it. Yes, I
- 4:52Speaker 1: have some thoughts on that, but yes, oh, Okay, I
- 4:54Speaker 1: think the locals would be very much invested in this place,
- 4:57Speaker 1: and I liked it a lot. Bj Harrison is as
- 5:00Speaker 1: always a damned light adorable. The fact that she is
- 5:03Speaker 1: the heart of Sweetwaters is part of what makes that
- 5:06Speaker 1: place so magical. Of course, people are going to root
- 5:08Speaker 1: for her because she's so damn lovely. I thought she
- 5:12Speaker 1: had some really funny lines too. Oh, she's so good
- 5:15Speaker 1: when she wins at Dominoes just wash my bones, which
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm sure is a Domino's thing.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I just loved it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: You know. I had to look up her age in
- 5:24Speaker 1: real life because I thought, I was like, are they are?
- 5:26Speaker 3: They?
- 5:27Speaker 1: Is this characters just be older than who she really
- 5:29Speaker 1: is in real life? And the Internet tells me she's
- 5:32Speaker 1: seventy five years old, and I was like, well, hot,
- 5:34Speaker 1: damn yeah, hot damn seventy five And I guess a
- 5:39Speaker 1: true seventy five year old. If they were still running
- 5:42Speaker 1: a business and they were underwater in the business a
- 5:45Speaker 1: little bit and their health was like not great, there
- 5:49Speaker 1: would be some concern there for sure. Absolutely hot damn.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Do Heather Hemmons and Brendan Penny have chemistry? I gotta
- 5:57Speaker 1: tell you, I've i and I thought this pairing was odd.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I have not seen on screen chemistry like this since
- 6:07Speaker 1: I got it. I got it, I got it. You're ready,
- 6:09Speaker 1: You're ready? Uh huh Tyler and Ryannon Fish Yes, a
- 6:14Speaker 1: picture of her? Yeah, correct. I think this might trump that.
- 6:18Speaker 1: If you recall in our review of that movie I
- 6:21Speaker 1: was I said, I was like, are these two dating?
- 6:23Speaker 1: Because they had like just the vibes are popping off
- 6:26Speaker 1: the screen. And it's not just one scene. There are
- 6:30Speaker 1: multiple scenes where they just have visible heat and on
- 6:33Speaker 1: this movie, right, this movie. And I'm gonna talk about
- 6:36Speaker 1: their kiss later yea, yeah, say that. It's my one
- 6:39Speaker 1: and only did you see that? So I want to
- 6:41Speaker 1: talk about that first kiss, Okay later, okay. But they
- 6:47Speaker 1: have incredible chemistry. I thought so too. I thought that
- 6:53Speaker 1: the dancing component to this movie really helped yield that
- 6:58Speaker 1: chemistry world for them. I'm not surprised Heather Himmans can dance.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I thought she was great. Kind of surprised Brendan Penny
- 7:08Speaker 1: can right, And I loved watching like everybody else dance too.
- 7:12Speaker 1: But in regards to the chemistry between Heather and Brendan Penny,
- 7:18Speaker 1: like smoking hut smoking hunt good stuff. Well, you mentioned
- 7:22Speaker 1: the dancing. I want to talk about the dancing. I
- 7:23Speaker 1: thought the dancing was so well done, clearly that very
- 7:28Speaker 1: well choreographed. The cinematography around the dancing, particularly at the
- 7:31Speaker 1: end for the dance a thon I thought was so fun,
- 7:35Speaker 1: so many fun camera angles and swoopy moments with the camera.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Even with the little kids who were dancing, they clearly
- 7:43Speaker 1: were dancers. I thought they did a really nice like
- 7:47Speaker 1: they clearly spent some time working with a choreographer to
- 7:51Speaker 1: get all these dances down. Yeah. I think that that's
- 7:53Speaker 1: what makes maybe this movie stand out a little bit
- 7:55Speaker 1: more because I'm trying to think of other movies that
- 7:58Speaker 1: have like big dance elements. There was that Lacy Sha
- 8:01Speaker 1: Bear Christmas Waltz, There's that movie that the dancing is
- 8:05Speaker 1: incredible for me personally. But then they also did that
- 8:09Speaker 1: Detective Ogo movie too. But I'm trying to can you
- 8:13Speaker 1: think of any other dancing movie where like really stood
- 8:18Speaker 1: out as real and real good Off the top of
- 8:22Speaker 1: my head, I cannot one is in your mind that
- 8:26Speaker 1: you can't pull I'm just so impressed that they pulled
- 8:30Speaker 1: it off. Yes, and it made it look good. You know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: this movie looks good. Yeah, agree, And they put a
- 8:40Speaker 1: lot of attention into moments like the fire moment where
- 8:44Speaker 1: Olivia and Luke are sitting around the fire outside of
- 8:47Speaker 1: ant Ruby's house and it's stunning. There's lights strung up everywhere,
- 8:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of greenery. I mean, it's just stunning.
- 8:55Speaker 1: And that's just their backyard, it's not a special location.
- 8:59Speaker 1: The bar I thought was incredibly well set. I assume that's.
- 9:04Speaker 2: A bar space, like a real bar used.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I don't know, but I just thought it looks good.
- 9:10Speaker 1: His Vets office looked like an office. It all everything
- 9:14Speaker 1: just looks so good. I agree, including Heather Hemmons, who
- 9:19Speaker 1: I have decided is the most beautiful human on the planet.
- 9:23Speaker 2: She's really pretty.
- 9:24Speaker 1: She's stunning. And the costuming on this movie, yeah, was fantastic.
- 9:31Speaker 1: When she goes home and she just like slips right
- 9:33Speaker 1: into that like southern country look.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Huh.
- 9:37Speaker 1: But it doesn't feel costume. No. I felt like, did
- 9:41Speaker 1: somebody buy a cute dress from Altered State and throw
- 9:43Speaker 1: some cowboy boots and a denim jacket over it? It just
- 9:46Speaker 1: was really cute. I thought she looked great. I just
- 9:48Speaker 1: could not stop staring at her face. She's stunningly beautiful,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but she had some real cute clothes, really cute clothes.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I agree.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I have a couple more likes. There was that scene
- 10:00Speaker 1: and I think you referenced it, when they're out by
- 10:03Speaker 1: the fire pit. It's a standout scene for me where
- 10:06Speaker 1: Luke apologizes to Olivia. We often don't get in Hallmark
- 10:11Speaker 1: movies where our leads like sit in their mistakes and
- 10:15Speaker 1: like take ownership for them. And I thought this was
- 10:19Speaker 1: such a well written scene, a well shot scene. I
- 10:23Speaker 1: thought it was well acted. I thought Brendan as Luke
- 10:27Speaker 1: delivered his lines like so well in this scene that
- 10:29Speaker 1: was very vulnerable. And then Heather as Olivia, she's crying
- 10:36Speaker 1: and I was like, well, this is just like really
- 10:37Speaker 1: good acting or like dug deep into emotion here. I
- 10:41Speaker 1: just thought it was chef's kiss. So I think it's
- 10:43Speaker 1: just a line Luke gives is I didn't have to
- 10:46Speaker 1: burn it all down. Yes, I loved it because she says, well,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I was.
- 10:51Speaker 2: The one that broke up with you.
- 10:52Speaker 1: He said, yeah, but I didn't have to burn it
- 10:53Speaker 1: all down. And I loved that line.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It was very relatable.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, two more little scene things. I really liked.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I did really enjoy June and Mason. I thought there
- 11:05Speaker 1: are secondary romance, didn't feel like a sea storyline filler
- 11:11Speaker 1: side romance, which Hallmark is notorious for. I was rooting
- 11:16Speaker 1: for these characters and I liked that Mason. There was
- 11:19Speaker 1: like hesitation there, and you know, it was very adult.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, is the best way that I could put it,
- 11:26Speaker 2: I think.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And then my final thing, which I think I'm picking
- 11:30Speaker 1: up from you, this felt like a at the core,
- 11:34Speaker 1: a community movie where they're rallying around. Sure. I think
- 11:39Speaker 1: this year several times I have mentioned that, like, I
- 11:43Speaker 1: am drawn to those kind of movies where yeah, because
- 11:47Speaker 1: don't you want that?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Don't you want to be a part of a community
- 11:49Speaker 2: like that that would show up?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely. I think that's why I'm so drawn, because
- 11:54Speaker 1: it feels like that would be incredible to be the
- 11:57Speaker 1: kind of community that throws the graduation party for Rory
- 12:00Speaker 1: in the pouring rain. Yes, exactly, And you wouldn't be
- 12:04Speaker 1: part of that. You would show up for those people,
- 12:06Speaker 1: and you want those people to show up you absolutely, yes, yes, yes, yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 1: My last like which feeds into a little bit of
- 12:14Speaker 1: a wish. I loved the country music shoutouts. When we
- 12:17Speaker 1: opened with Trisha Yearwood She's in Love with the Boy.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I love that song. Yeah, I love Trisha Yearwood. I
- 12:21Speaker 1: was so excited because that is in air quotes, real
- 12:25Speaker 1: country music. And there were some more instances of it.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And then in addition, they use the line like we're
- 12:32Speaker 1: gonna boot Scoop and June says, let's go girls. Yes. Now,
- 12:35Speaker 1: if I may transition into my wishes just a little bit,
- 12:39Speaker 1: this could have been packed with country music. Now. I
- 12:41Speaker 1: understand that there is a budgetary limit and we're trying
- 12:44Speaker 1: to do it all, but that would have been the
- 12:47Speaker 1: thing that took this movie over the top for me,
- 12:50Speaker 1: is if it could have just you know, they had
- 12:52Speaker 1: so many nineties country music references. I'm like, if we
- 12:54Speaker 1: could have just packed it with like that nineties country
- 12:57Speaker 1: hit bangers, I just like that, that would have been
- 13:00Speaker 1: the thing that took this movie over the top for me.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I hear you. Before we come back to rap up
- 13:05Speaker 1: bar wishes, we're going to take a quick break. All right, Wendy,
- 13:16Speaker 1: what else did you wish for? I only have two wishes.
- 13:19Speaker 1: The first one is Olivia's big idea to save the
- 13:23Speaker 1: bar is a live stream, and I really wanted to
- 13:28Speaker 1: hear exactly how they were going to raise money from that.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Even Aunt Ruby's like, but where does the money come in? Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and that is my question too, And honestly, I'm like
- 13:41Speaker 1: thinking about it. I was like, Okay, a TikTok live
- 13:44Speaker 1: stream or is there a donation button? Like how exactly
- 13:48Speaker 1: this is her big idea and they're banking on it
- 13:52Speaker 1: going viral worldwide. People are going to donate.
- 13:55Speaker 2: That's my biggest.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Wish too, because she was relying on donations. She said,
- 13:59Speaker 1: people will donate, people will buy in, and I think
- 14:01Speaker 1: people do care about this space, and perhaps in the
- 14:05Speaker 1: country music world, perhaps this is a kind of space
- 14:08Speaker 1: that's known. Like you, you know that there are artists
- 14:10Speaker 1: who are like, oh, I can't wait to go back
- 14:12Speaker 1: to this and play this iconic location.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm sure there are there are people who would feel
- 14:17Speaker 1: that way. But for me, all I kept thinking was
- 14:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna need a better hook to get me the
- 14:23Speaker 1: viewer to turn on this dance a thon and be
- 14:26Speaker 1: motivated to give money. There needs to be some it's
- 14:30Speaker 1: there needs to be some sort of return. Am I
- 14:33Speaker 1: getting a shirt?
- 14:36Speaker 3: Well?
- 14:36Speaker 1: I think there has to be some sort of return.
- 14:39Speaker 1: What's the return? Just an outpouring of generosity, Yes, but
- 14:46Speaker 1: I think that only goes. I just think the reality
- 14:48Speaker 1: is like that outpouring of generosity only goes. Maybe this
- 14:51Speaker 1: is the kind of thing that could go viral and
- 14:53Speaker 1: TikTok I see TikTok after TikTok of like I met
- 14:56Speaker 1: this man on the street and he's in hell, he
- 14:58Speaker 1: needs help, but now I got his go fund me
- 15:00Speaker 1: and my bio and it goes crazy. Yeah, maybe something
- 15:03Speaker 1: like that could happen, but you would need some sort
- 15:05Speaker 1: of virality moment that you're banking on that's not guaranteed.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And I think maybe like, yes, people want to see
- 15:13Speaker 1: the dancing. That's fun, but maybe they needed like some
- 15:15Speaker 1: country artists like yeah, I know they had their band,
- 15:19Speaker 1: but maybe if you're like, I'm live streaming a concert
- 15:21Speaker 1: where I'm going to see Trisha would show up? Yeah,
- 15:26Speaker 1: Leanne Womack, I hope you dan, Yeah exactly. I think
- 15:31Speaker 1: maybe that would be a bigger get. Again, there are
- 15:34Speaker 1: some budgetary constraints right right. My other wish that I
- 15:39Speaker 1: have here is I believe the chemistry between Heather and
- 15:45Speaker 1: Brendan outshined the plot a little bit, and I'm the
- 15:50Speaker 1: reason I say that is the actual plot for me
- 15:54Speaker 1: followed a fairly predictable Hallmark roadmap. Sure, she's not happy
- 15:58Speaker 1: with her job because she's not fulfilling her passion. She
- 16:01Speaker 1: goes home to help her aunt save this bar. She
- 16:04Speaker 1: falls in re in love again, re in love, falls
- 16:07Speaker 1: in love again with an old boyfriend. This to me
- 16:13Speaker 1: screams and no shade to the writer, but a new
- 16:16Speaker 1: writer who feels like this is the Hallmark checklist. Sure.
- 16:21Speaker 1: What stands out to me is I think they cast
- 16:24Speaker 1: incredible actors who pulled it off, and the story with
- 16:29Speaker 1: the dancing and the music, helped elevate a very basic
- 16:32Speaker 1: plot line. And I think when it comes to the writing,
- 16:34Speaker 1: the dialogue hit agree, agree the story itself. Yeah, because
- 16:41Speaker 1: even at the end, Luke says to her, like, what
- 16:44Speaker 1: are you going to do? What's your next step? And
- 16:47Speaker 1: she says, I don't know, we'll figure it out together. Yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 1: there was no conclusion. There's no I mean, we're just assuming, oh,
- 16:52Speaker 1: there's a happy ending here, which, on one hand, I like,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you're not going to have a conclusion at this state
- 16:57Speaker 1: in the game. You're not going to know what's next.
- 16:59Speaker 1: It's not going to be tied up in a pretty bow.
- 17:01Speaker 1: On the other hand, we may be right back where
- 17:04Speaker 1: we started, because she does say she's going to move
- 17:06Speaker 1: home permanently to help out with Aunt Ruby. But will
- 17:09Speaker 1: that be the.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Thing that fulfills her?
- 17:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't know, right because I thought taking photographs
- 17:15Speaker 1: was her thing. I don't know. I have one small
- 17:17Speaker 1: little wish I think we could have if we're going
- 17:20Speaker 1: to introduce the idea of Luke's horse rehab situation. It's
- 17:24Speaker 1: a little thin, It doesn't really get a lot of
- 17:27Speaker 1: time dedicated to it. It deepens his character. It serves
- 17:32Speaker 1: the purpose of showing Olivia that he's become this different
- 17:38Speaker 1: person who cares about things outside of himself. But it's
- 17:43Speaker 1: one brief scene and then he references it later in
- 17:45Speaker 1: the movie, like, well, maybe I need my horse rehab. Yeah,
- 17:48Speaker 1: but we could have done more with it.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I agree. Okay, are you ready for did you see that?
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 17:53Speaker 2: I have a couple. Okay.
- 17:54Speaker 1: There is a scene where Aunt Ruby has like fallen
- 17:58Speaker 1: asleep in her chair and Olivia takes a picture of
- 18:01Speaker 1: her sleeping.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, look to.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Me when they first flash on her, look at her
- 18:07Speaker 1: mouth was open. It wasn't. It's just like and I thought,
- 18:11Speaker 1: because that is how I fall asleep. If I'm sitting up,
- 18:13Speaker 1: this would be ground for I would be so mad.
- 18:18Speaker 1: It would be so I don't even like when I
- 18:21Speaker 1: opened the camera on a reverse angle, oh on my
- 18:24Speaker 1: phone and it's me and my double chint and it's
- 18:26Speaker 1: not even capturing the image. You just have to see it. Yes,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I do not want if somebody took a picture of
- 18:33Speaker 1: me sleeping.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I would be curious.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Me too, curious. I would be too. My husband the
- 18:38Speaker 1: other day said something about like, oh, yeah, that's how
- 18:41Speaker 1: I fall asleep on a plane, like with my mouth open.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I'm like, don't I know, But don't tell me that
- 18:45Speaker 2: you've known it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, no, god, I fall asleep on an
- 18:50Speaker 1: airplane every single time. I don't even know. I'm just
- 18:53Speaker 1: gonna get one of those like rap things that like
- 18:55Speaker 1: wraps my whole face up. Well that's why I like
- 18:58Speaker 1: my turtle pillow, because yeah, I fall in to it
- 19:00Speaker 1: so my mouth can't really fell open. And like, let's
- 19:02Speaker 1: bring back masks on an airplane. There was one line
- 19:10Speaker 1: that I really really loved in this where Luke calls
- 19:15Speaker 1: June a horse or something like that, and Olivia goes,
- 19:18Speaker 1: don't call my friend a horse, and he goes, well,
- 19:20Speaker 1: she's got hooves like one. I died laughing. I thought
- 19:26Speaker 1: it was such a funny line, so funny. Two more,
- 19:31Speaker 1: two more, two more? Little did you see? That's one
- 19:34Speaker 1: when we meet Mason the vet and he's calling his
- 19:38Speaker 1: cousin their cousins, right, calling cousin Olivia while he is
- 19:43Speaker 1: examining a dog. Do you know how pissed I would
- 19:47Speaker 1: be if I was that animal owner and you're a dog.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You're on a phone call, I mean five hundred dollars
- 19:54Speaker 1: to see you, no, sir? And then the last, the
- 19:59Speaker 1: last little just see that what made me really take
- 20:03Speaker 1: notice that this movie was operating at a very steamy level.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Luke dips Olivia and his face is practically in her
- 20:12Speaker 1: bosom field. I was like, WHOA did I turn on Lifetime?
- 20:18Speaker 1: This is like giving like lifetime steamy? Well, let's talk
- 20:22Speaker 1: steamy because that's my one and only. Did just see that?
- 20:25Speaker 1: It is their kiss? They kiss, He picks her up
- 20:30Speaker 1: and puts her on the counter. This is what I'm
- 20:32Speaker 1: talking lifetime.
- 20:34Speaker 2: That's what I thought too.
- 20:35Speaker 1: This do you remember in Providence Falls, where there's two
- 20:41Speaker 1: scenes that are hot without being racy, and one is like,
- 20:45Speaker 1: there's a zipper scene, yes I do, I remember, yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 1: And the other is he grabs her chair and pulls
- 20:50Speaker 1: her in. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with those scenes. There's
- 20:54Speaker 1: nothing that would get the censors going, right, this is
- 20:58Speaker 1: like that, there's nothing of it. But you know he's
- 21:01Speaker 1: got to grab her ass to get her on the
- 21:02Speaker 1: counter totally, and you know that the only way that
- 21:05Speaker 1: works for her to be sitting on the counter and
- 21:07Speaker 1: him to be kissing her is that he is standing
- 21:09Speaker 1: between her legs. Yes, yeah, but they don't show any
- 21:12Speaker 1: of them. Yeah, but it was it's the whiff of
- 21:17Speaker 1: like illusion, right, I know. I wonder the director here
- 21:23Speaker 1: is like, look, this is what we're gonna do, and
- 21:25Speaker 1: Brendan and Heather are like, what this is wholemark?
- 21:29Speaker 3: Right?
- 21:30Speaker 1: Yeah? I thought it was real steamy. Yeah, I didn't
- 21:33Speaker 1: my notes it that kiss damn sexy, very sexy.
- 21:38Speaker 3: All right?
- 21:38Speaker 1: What did you rate? Tis is two stip? I gave
- 21:42Speaker 1: it three point seventy five? What yeahs The story wasn't
- 21:49Speaker 1: like that great fair enough, but I thought, yeah, everything
- 21:52Speaker 1: else about it, it's a it's a four point two
- 21:54Speaker 1: five star movie for Wow me away.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I'm shocked.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Wow.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I would love to know where the listeners fall
- 22:01Speaker 1: on this one. I didn't think it was bad. I'm
- 22:04Speaker 1: just you know, yeah, nor your criticism is fair. I
- 22:07Speaker 1: gotta think about my rating system. I'm a little too shallow.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Perhaps I was blown away by Heather Hemmond's beauty and
- 22:14Speaker 1: Brendan Penny's slow, low talking, okayllow talking. Hey, thanks for
