Speaker 1: Hi, guys, welcome back to I Do par two. It's
• 0:15
Speaker 1: your celebrity mentor Jenfessler, and today I'm going to be
• 0:18
Speaker 1: breaking down and reacting to some of the latest headlines
• 0:22
Speaker 1: in the world of divorce with my producer Heather.
• 0:26
Speaker 2: Hey lady, Hi Jen, how are you? Hi?
• 0:29
Speaker 1: Heather? So, Heather is my right arm, right hand, right
• 0:35
Speaker 1: hand all things off screen, and today she is my
• 0:39
Speaker 1: partner on screen, which I'm actually very excited about. I
• 0:42
Speaker 1: want to hear your takes on this stuff, my friend.
• 0:45
Speaker 2: These are some wild stories. I'm ready.
• 0:46
Speaker 1: We really are you?
• 0:48
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 0:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah. We're talking to you guys about the
• 0:52
Speaker 1: mess that has become some of these celebrity divorces. And
• 0:58
Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe it helps people to hear about
• 1:01
Speaker 1: this and their own divorces or they all seem messy, right,
• 1:04
Speaker 1: every one of us, all of us I Do Part twos,
• 1:08
Speaker 1: have been through nothing. I've never heard of anything being
• 1:10
Speaker 1: really easy in terms of divorce or you know, death
• 1:14
Speaker 1: or even in my case, separation. But these celebrity ones
• 1:17
Speaker 1: are good. They're juicy, and they're messy and you know,
• 1:22
Speaker 1: sad in a lot of cases, right for sure.
• 1:25
Speaker 2: But you know what, I think that sometimes, right. I mean,
• 1:28
Speaker 2: I haven't been through divorce myself, but I think you
• 1:30
Speaker 2: do have to go through a bit of that storm
• 1:32
Speaker 2: before you can get to maybe some of that you know, nicer,
• 1:36
Speaker 2: happier endings. And I think we're going to get to
• 1:38
Speaker 2: some of those stories today too. There's some that are
• 1:40
  Speaker 2: a little bit.
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Hopeful, some uplifting ones as well, right, definitely, yes, yeah,
• 1:45
Speaker 1: I have friends that always say like, divorce is so underrated.
• 1:49
Speaker 1: These are my friends, of course, that have now had
• 1:51
Speaker 1: some time in separation from the divorce. But even like
• 1:55
Speaker 1: with younger kids, being able to sort of feel like
• 1:58
Speaker 1: your kids are in a safe place'll have some time
• 2:00
Speaker 1: on your own. But that's another episode. So let's just
• 2:03
Speaker 1: dive right in. Let's talk about Scott Wolf. You're too young,
• 2:07
Speaker 1: I think, Heather, did you watch Party of Five?
• 2:09
Speaker 2: Listen? I did watch some Party of Five when I
• 2:13
Speaker 2: was growing up. It was a little bit more on
• 2:15
Speaker 2: the dramatic side. But I think Scott Wolf made appearances
• 2:18
Speaker 2: on some other shows that I used to watch back
• 2:20
Speaker 2: in the nineties, for sure, so I definitely know.
• 2:22
Speaker 1: I was in love with him. Yeah, Oh my god,
• 2:25
Speaker 1: so cute. So I guess recently, pretty recently him and
• 2:30
Speaker 1: his soon to be ex wife, Kelly, announced that they
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: are getting divorced.
• 2:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, this has been drama since the get go. If
• 2:39
Speaker 2: anybody's been following this story, obviously we know that there
• 2:43
Speaker 2: was a police called to the house. There was I
• 2:47
Speaker 2: believe she was detained for a period of time. So
• 2:51
Speaker 2: it's just gotten a little bit bumpier week by week.
• 2:56
Speaker 2: But tell everybody about kind of what's going on right now,
• 2:59
Speaker 2: the latest this story.
• 3:00
Speaker 1: So yeah, so I guess Kelly was dropped by her
• 3:05
Speaker 1: own attorney, right. She was making some accusations against Scott
• 3:10
Speaker 1: and that, you know, according to him, of course, are unfounded.
• 3:14
Speaker 1: And we are not in the room with her attorney
• 3:17
Speaker 1: and all that. Obviously their communications are privileged. So I
• 3:21
Speaker 1: guess it's up to us to sort of guess what
• 3:24
Speaker 1: happened there. But it's on the heels of her making
• 3:27
Speaker 1: these accusations. Maybe the attorney thought that she was making
• 3:30
Speaker 1: false allegations against him. You know, you don't hear about
• 3:33
Speaker 1: attorneys firing their clients.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, well it says here. It says on on Monday,
• 3:38
Speaker 2: August nineteenth, the Utah judge presiding over the divorce granted
• 3:42
Speaker 2: emotion brought by Kelly's attorney, Farah Spencer, to withdraw her
• 3:47
Speaker 2: as her representation. The judge said that Farah and her
• 3:53
Speaker 2: law firm are permitted to withdraw as counsel of record
• 3:58
Speaker 2: for Kelly effect immediately, and are relieved of any and
• 4:02
Speaker 2: all future duties and responsibilities for Kelly in this case. So,
• 4:08
Speaker 2: you know, obviously, like you were saying, we don't know
• 4:11
Speaker 2: all the details on why this, you know, went into motion,
• 4:15
Speaker 2: but I don't know what kind of sign it is
• 4:18
Speaker 2: when you're divorce attorney, he as a client, like, I
• 4:23
  Speaker 2: think a little.
• 4:24
Speaker 1: Sketchy doesn't seem good? Well, I know. Also I believe
• 4:28
Speaker 1: her allegations had to do with his parenting, right and
• 4:33
Speaker 1: correct me if I'm on he has the kids, right.
• 4:36
Speaker 2: I think that right now he does.
• 4:39
Speaker 1: If we're wrong in any of this, you guys, please
• 4:40
Speaker 1: forgive us. But it's all I feel like this story
• 4:42
Speaker 1: is coming out in real time.
• 4:45
Speaker 2: Things are definitely changing with the wind on this one.
• 4:49
Speaker 2: But yeah, there's a lot of mudslinging going on right now.
• 4:52
Speaker 2: You know, Kelly's been going to social media posting a
• 4:56
Speaker 2: lot of you know stuff like we said, and we've
• 4:59
Speaker 2: all seen and heard, you know, bodycam footage from that night,
• 5:05
Speaker 2: So we're getting pieces of this situation. One thing's for sure,
• 5:11
Speaker 2: it's not going well. I think it is very what
• 5:15
Speaker 2: feels contentious, and yeah, you know, I think.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: Well, she's also Heather. She's a life coach, right.
• 5:23
Speaker 2: You know what. I actually remember Kelly from back when
• 5:28
Speaker 2: she was on reality TV, back in the day she
• 5:31
Speaker 2: used to be. She was on MTV The Real World.
• 5:35
Speaker 1: I mean, I hope you guys, if you're listening to
• 5:37
Speaker 1: this pod, you've you're hopefully of age to remember the
• 5:40
Speaker 1: real world. If not, thank you for listening. I don't
• 5:42
Speaker 1: know what I would have interesting to say to you,
• 5:45
Speaker 1: you young people. But anyway, the Real World that started
• 5:49
Speaker 1: off Reality TV. That was MTV show about I guess
• 5:54
Speaker 1: it's sort of like like summer House now a bunch
• 5:57
Speaker 1: of kids at the shore though was it the shore?
• 6:00
Speaker 2: But it's it's strangers if we're if we're really less correct,
• 6:03
Speaker 2: excuse me, right, strangers pick to live together.
• 6:07
Speaker 1: But yeah, it was cool.
• 6:08
Speaker 2: That's kind of what I remember Kelly being from. And
• 6:13
Speaker 2: you know, up until this time, I would say she
• 6:15
Speaker 2: was pretty much living a low profile with.
• 6:17
Speaker 1: Scott, but I think she was. I do think I
• 6:19
Speaker 1: remember reading she was a life coach. It's interesting. It's like,
• 6:23
Speaker 1: what does these expression therapists heal thyself or doctor heal thyself?
• 6:27
Speaker 1: You know. I mean, I think you can have distance
• 6:30
Speaker 1: from something like you can tell I certainly make a
• 6:33
Speaker 1: million mistakes and tell my kids do as I say,
• 6:36
Speaker 1: not as I do. So even though I know, you know,
• 6:40
Speaker 1: a lot of times I know the right path or
• 6:42
Speaker 1: the right move to make, I don't always choose it,
• 6:44
Speaker 1: but I can tell you what it is. So and
• 6:47
Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I think it's interesting, just the
• 6:50
Speaker 1: whole life coach thing and now she's unfortunately going through
• 6:52
Speaker 1: this mess. But we wish them certainly all the best.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: It's just a reminder of how ugly this can get.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. Scott actually released a statement on the fifteenth,
• 7:04
Speaker 2: telling you People magazine that he is continuing to hope
• 7:09
Speaker 2: that to have most of this difficult chapter of his
• 7:13
Speaker 2: family's lives remain as private as possible. However, the well
• 7:17
Speaker 2: being of their children is at stake and that will
• 7:20
Speaker 2: always be his main priority. So yeah, we wish them
• 7:25
Speaker 2: all the best and hopefully they can get through this
• 7:28
Speaker 2: because at the end of the day, the kids are
• 7:30
Speaker 2: the most important aspect when I think anybody would agree
• 7:34
Speaker 2: when you're going through something.
• 7:35
Speaker 1: Like this agreed, Well, yes, I would think that everyone
• 7:38
Speaker 1: would agree with that. Speaking of contentious and kids and messy,
• 7:46
Speaker 1: let's talk about Kim Zolesiak and Corey Beerman.
• 7:49
Speaker 2: I'm actually really interested to hear your perspective on this one,
• 7:53
Speaker 2: obviously being from the Bravo verse just right out the gate.
• 7:56
Speaker 2: Have you ever met Kim before or do you know
• 7:59
  Speaker 2: her at all?
• 8:00
Speaker 1: No, I've never met Kim. I've been watching him for
• 8:03
Speaker 1: years and Croy and so funny. Do you remember I
• 8:08
Speaker 1: don't know if you watched them back in the day
• 8:09
Speaker 1: when they fell in love at the beginning.
• 8:12
Speaker 2: Of course, their wedding, their.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: Wedding, but that's their wedding. Like she saw him and
• 8:16
Speaker 1: she was like, okay, I think this. She didn't use
• 8:19
Speaker 1: this wording, but there was something about his ass. I
• 8:22
Speaker 1: remember her saying that it was the cutest ass she'd
• 8:24
Speaker 1: ever seen. Do you remember this?
• 8:26
  Speaker 2: I do remember this, And I also, I don't know
• 8:29
Speaker 2: if you remember that.
• 8:30
Speaker 1: That's if she asked him out first or something.
• 8:32
Speaker 2: When they got married, do you remember that she painted
• 8:37
  Speaker 2: his jersey on.
• 8:38
Speaker 1: Her body and had.
• 8:42
Speaker 2: I will never forget that photo shoot that.
• 8:44
Speaker 1: She My god, that's so funny.
• 8:46
Speaker 2: I remember it was definitely a love story, hot and heavy.
• 8:50
Speaker 2: It really was July fast in the beginning. I think
• 8:53
Speaker 2: they both agree with that. But it's just gone again,
• 8:57
Speaker 2: reallywil in recent months. So you can go ahead tell
• 9:02
Speaker 2: him for many kind of what's what's like them?
• 9:05
Speaker 1: Okay? Well again, like and I haven't met Kim, but
• 9:08
Speaker 1: I met three nights ago. I met Arianna. I was
• 9:12
Speaker 1: at a movie premiere and she was there, I guess,
• 9:14
Speaker 1: representing next Gen and her adorable boyfriend. And it's funny,
• 9:18
Speaker 1: you guys, you know you read stuff, you see stuff
• 9:20
Speaker 1: on TV. Obviously we didn't talk about this. I didn't
• 9:22
Speaker 1: speak didn't bring up your mother's you know, getting divorced
• 9:25
Speaker 1: and it's ugly. But I'm just saying she was so
• 9:27
Speaker 1: sweet and warm, and when you meet people sometimes they
• 9:31
Speaker 1: become human and it all just becomes, you know, more
• 9:35
Speaker 1: than just an interesting story. It's just it's very sad
• 9:38
Speaker 1: and and so I believe Arianna. And who's the other sister, Brielle?
• 9:44
Speaker 1: Brielle right there? From there, they Corey adopted them, right,
• 9:49
Speaker 1: so there are four kids.
• 9:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, he's definitely their stepfather. I don't know
• 9:54
Speaker 2: went through with the adopt.
• 9:55
Speaker 1: I think he did, okay anyway, So that's just how
• 9:58
Speaker 1: that's just context about in terms of like how sad
• 10:01
Speaker 1: it is. But I think that Kim now has asked
• 10:06
Speaker 1: that Coroy b thrown in jail for stalking her, you know,
• 10:10
Speaker 1: which is and I he obviously is denying those claims.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: So it is, Uh, it's gotten to the point where
• 10:19
Speaker 1: it sounds like it's you know, stalking her home and
• 10:22
Speaker 1: wanting her he wants her thrown in jail. She filed
• 10:26
Speaker 1: documents about they're really what seems to be their kind
• 10:30
Speaker 1: of never ending divorce. Yeah, they have four kids, right,
• 10:33
Speaker 1: and they have and then he adopted the two. But
• 10:38
Speaker 1: it's it's gotten out of control, and she says that
• 10:42
Speaker 1: he is Croy has been exhibiting erratic behavior, that Kroy's
• 10:47
Speaker 1: obsession with her has led him to survey surveilling the residence.
• 10:52
Speaker 1: Why can I say surveilling survailing the residence of a
• 10:56
Speaker 1: third party at whose residence Kim was present, as well
• 10:59
Speaker 1: as following him on such mundane tasks as grocery shopping.
• 11:05
Speaker 1: It sounds like the Genshaw and the monica of it all.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: It's really wild, and you know, it's kind of like
• 11:14
Speaker 2: this outlet says, it never ending. I feel like, similar
• 11:18
Speaker 2: to the Scott Wolf and Kelly situation, Kim and Croi
• 11:22
Speaker 2: are in the headlines every single week when it comes
• 11:25
Speaker 2: to their divorce, whether it is the money situation, whether
• 11:30
Speaker 2: it's somebody won't leave the house, whether it's you know,
• 11:33
Speaker 2: their kids are speaking, you know, so it's really really
• 11:36
Speaker 2: gotten messy, and you know, I just want to hear
• 11:41
Speaker 2: from you as you know, as an adult who's also
• 11:45
Speaker 2: been in a very long term marriage. Yeah, do you
• 11:49
Speaker 2: think that these two really need to be focusing on
• 11:52
Speaker 2: right now? Do you think they need better mediation? Do
• 11:55
Speaker 2: you think they should be, you know, enlisting the help
• 11:57
Speaker 2: of a divorce coach because it feels like they're not
• 12:01
  Speaker 2: getting it right.
• 12:03
Speaker 1: So obviously just my opinion. So I feel like this
• 12:10
Speaker 1: whole thing would have gone a lot easier if from
• 12:13
Speaker 1: the beginning, and maybe they have one, but I'm thinking not.
• 12:15
Speaker 1: They had a prenup, so let me just put that
• 12:18
Speaker 1: out there. So they came into this marriage not as
• 12:21
Speaker 1: as children starting out right, they came into it as
• 12:25
Speaker 1: grown ass adults. He was a football player, so I'm
• 12:27
Speaker 1: sure he came in with his own money. She was
• 12:29
Speaker 1: a reality star. I'm sure she came in with hers.
• 12:32
Speaker 1: I might be wrong, but that's and my guess is
• 12:35
Speaker 1: from all of this that they do not have one.
• 12:38
Speaker 1: So if you're listening, who cares what Jenfesler thinks. But
• 12:41
Speaker 1: if you're interested, I care what Jenfesler thinks. Thank you, Heather,
• 12:45
Speaker 1: But I mean I just feel like that would have
• 12:48
Speaker 1: I think there's so much that we hear about the money, right, yeah,
• 12:51
Speaker 1: especially with the Ariana of it all talking about how
• 12:56
Speaker 1: they used her money. Actually thought if you guys watched
• 12:59
Speaker 1: her on watch What has Ups Live recently and Kim
• 13:02
Speaker 1: was there in the front row, and they handled that
• 13:04
Speaker 1: whole thing beautifully. Like Kim said, I guess they she
• 13:06
Speaker 1: had to pay the rent it was what it was,
• 13:08
Speaker 1: or the mortgage or right. But that's that's a hard thing.
• 13:11
Speaker 1: I'm sure their relationship was not easy, you know, when
• 13:15
Speaker 1: Ariana realized what was going on with the money whatever,
• 13:18
Speaker 1: that's not the issue today, but I think that it
• 13:20
Speaker 1: probably has what do you think, Heather, at least fifty percent,
• 13:24
Speaker 1: maybe more. It has to do with the fact that
• 13:27
Speaker 1: they don't have any money now. Now I don't know
• 13:28
Speaker 1: where all that money went. I don't know they had
• 13:33
Speaker 1: that huge mansion, right, I guess they lived extravagantly.
• 13:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think listen, I think the fact that they're.
• 13:41
Speaker 1: All kids still young.
• 13:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, the oldest you know, of the kids,
• 13:46
Speaker 2: the four that they've had together is fourteen. The youngest
• 13:49
Speaker 2: the twins are eleven.
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: I think they're expensive.
• 13:53
Speaker 2: Having young kids really does make divorce a lot more
• 13:57
Speaker 2: complicated than when kids are older, because as you are
• 14:01
Speaker 2: having that struggle with custody and visitation and all that
• 14:04
Speaker 2: stuff that maybe you wouldn't have if the kids were
• 14:07
Speaker 2: over eighteen. So I think that's a really you know, added.
• 14:12
Speaker 1: You think so you think it has much to do
• 14:13
Speaker 1: with that As money.
• 14:15
Speaker 2: I think that money is probably a huge factor. But
• 14:19
Speaker 2: when she's claiming things like stocking and stuff like that,
• 14:23
Speaker 2: I don't think that that necessarily these claims have to
• 14:26
Speaker 2: do with money. This is maybe no, no, right, this
• 14:30
Speaker 2: might be underlying in terms of visitation and.
• 14:33
Speaker 1: Well, yes, agreed completely, I agree, But I think that
• 14:36
Speaker 1: sometimes it gets so contentious so quickly, right, And they've
• 14:42
Speaker 1: talked about this both publicly, when they're both so worried
• 14:46
Speaker 1: about the finances and Kim, you know, selling off her things,
• 14:51
Speaker 1: and a woman that is, you know, obviously she's lived well,
• 14:55
Speaker 1: at least from what we've seen, a very affluent life,
• 14:57
Speaker 1: and things have changed very not so quickly, but as
• 15:01
Speaker 1: far as we've seen, and then it gets ugly. I
• 15:03
Speaker 1: think a lot of times the fear, the financial insecurity
• 15:08
Speaker 1: can lead to that kind of animosity that can then
• 15:12
Speaker 1: spill over. And I'm not saying that I don't know
• 15:14
Speaker 1: what happened with the kids, and I don't know about
• 15:16
Speaker 1: Kroy stalking her. I I wasn't there, so who knows,
• 15:20
Speaker 1: But I just my feeling is that I don't know.
• 15:24
Speaker 1: I would suggest people going into a marriage if everybody
• 15:27
Speaker 1: is a little bit older and has their own stuff,
• 15:30
Speaker 1: not that that's even always going to make it easier.
• 15:32
  Speaker 2: I'll piggyback on what you're saying, Jen, I don't think
• 15:34
Speaker 2: it matters whether what stage of life you're in when
• 15:37
Speaker 2: you come into the relationship. Really up is the best
• 15:40
Speaker 2: way to go, And I think that's what you're getting
• 15:43
Speaker 2: at is, next time, Kim Kroy, if you get married
• 15:47
Speaker 2: again after this, get a prenup.
• 15:49
Speaker 1: Listen. I mean, I love that you're putting that out there, right,
• 15:53
Speaker 1: because I think there's people have lots of different ideas
• 15:56
Speaker 1: about a prenup and a lot of I think young
• 15:58
Speaker 1: people feel like it is predicting that the marriage is
• 16:01
Speaker 1: going to end. Right, You're taking these vowels for forever.
• 16:04
Speaker 1: What are you going to say?
• 16:05
Speaker 2: I was going to say that, I hear that a lot.
• 16:08
Speaker 2: That's not It takes the romance out of the situation.
• 16:12
Speaker 2: We've had some really amazing prenup people actually on this
• 16:15
Speaker 2: podcast that have pointed out that if you get divorced,
• 16:21
Speaker 2: the state that you live in has a say in
• 16:23
Speaker 2: how your marital assets are divided, regardless if you know,
• 16:28
Speaker 2: you decide to have a nice divorce or a contentious divorce. Right,
• 16:34
Speaker 2: So approach your marriage the same way you would approach
• 16:38
Speaker 2: your you know, financial portfolio, buying a house, anything like that.
• 16:44
Speaker 2: It is protection for the what if you wouldn't buy
• 16:48
Speaker 2: a house and not have house insurance, you wouldn't you know,
• 16:52
Speaker 2: and things like that. It's like, that doesn't mean that
• 16:55
Speaker 2: you hate your house if you were to buy a house,
• 16:59
  Speaker 2: and you know.
• 17:00
Speaker 1: I think that it's sometimes harder if one person is
• 17:03
Speaker 1: coming into the marriage with a career, and I mean,
• 17:06
Speaker 1: let's say that they both have careers, but one is
• 17:08
Speaker 1: way more lucrative. Sure, and let's just go with the
• 17:12
Speaker 1: traditional idea of this. It's not always true, please, don't
• 17:17
Speaker 1: you know. But let's say a young woman is going
• 17:19
Speaker 1: in and a young man and she knows she wants
• 17:21
Speaker 1: to have babies and her career may not may or
• 17:23
Speaker 1: may not. Again I'm generalizing, but may or may not
• 17:27
Speaker 1: continue in a big way when she has kids. Maybe
• 17:30
Speaker 1: she wants to be a stay at home mom and
• 17:32
Speaker 1: her soon to be husband is has a big job
• 17:35
Speaker 1: and makes tons of money, and so I feel like
• 17:40
Speaker 1: maybe the fear of if something happens and now the
• 17:43
Speaker 1: kids are a certain age, I'm totally right. Like, but
• 17:47
Speaker 1: I think, and you said you had some attorneys on
• 17:51
Speaker 1: talking about this. If it's me and I'm advising my
• 17:54
Speaker 1: daughter to take a look at like what what is
• 17:57
Speaker 1: this going to look like down the road? Right, So
• 18:00
Speaker 1: playing out those scenarios and saying, you know, and I
• 18:04
Speaker 1: think it's probably very difficult to do. But if there
• 18:06
Speaker 1: is a divorce at this point, and including that in
• 18:10
Speaker 1: whatever contract you're signing, this is how much I'm going
• 18:13
Speaker 1: to walk away with, not just that he gets everything
• 18:16
Speaker 1: that he had, and I get everything that I had,
• 18:18
Speaker 1: and that's it, right, So I guess that's negotiable. Remember
• 18:20
Speaker 1: in Sex and the City, when Charlotte was arguing with
• 18:24
Speaker 1: Trey's mom, did you watch, Yeah, and because she wanted
• 18:28
Speaker 1: Charlotte to sign a prenup and there's a scene and
• 18:32
Speaker 1: I guess they wanted to give her whatever, I don't know,
• 18:34
Speaker 1: five hundred thousand dollars and she's like, I'm worth a million.
• 18:37
Speaker 1: Do you remember that.
• 18:38
Speaker 2: That's during the divorce.
• 18:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, I know that was before they got married.
• 18:41
Speaker 2: Oh, before they got married.
• 18:42
  Speaker 1: Yes.
• 18:42
Speaker 2: Do you remember her negotiating the million because she was
• 18:45
  Speaker 2: worth it?
• 18:45
Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, because she said she was worth it. I
• 18:47
  Speaker 1: love that line.
• 18:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that is important. You bring up
• 18:51
Speaker 2: a great fact. But also people should remember prenups can
• 18:56
Speaker 2: be updated and changed throughout the marriage. So if your
• 19:01
Speaker 2: life looks one way before you get married and things
• 19:04
Speaker 2: change with your career, maybe you weren't the bread winner
• 19:08
Speaker 2: when you first got married, but then you became a
• 19:10
Speaker 2: stay at home mom who made social content and you
• 19:13
Speaker 2: grew a following and now you're getting brand deals. You
• 19:16
Speaker 2: can change that. And it's called a post nup, and
• 19:19
Speaker 2: you can change that. And make it reflect more about
• 19:23
Speaker 2: what the marriage is looking like at that current time.
• 19:26
Speaker 2: So people need to get a little bit out of
• 19:28
Speaker 2: the everything is so black and white in your boxed
• 19:31
Speaker 2: in forever and know that things can be negotiated and changed.
• 19:35
Speaker 2: So I love that Jen saying get a prenup. I'm saying,
• 19:39
Speaker 2: get a prenup. And also Kim and KROI get a
• 19:41
Speaker 2: divorce coach. We have us divorce coach on this show
• 19:45
Speaker 2: named Samantha Boss who really opened our eyes as to
• 19:50
Speaker 2: what a divorce coach can do. Especially she does high conflict,
• 19:54
Speaker 2: contentious divorces like this. It's way beyond mediation. And you know,
• 19:59
Speaker 2: anybody that's going through a contentious divorce right now or
• 20:02
Speaker 2: is really struggling with an X that is making things
• 20:05
Speaker 2: difficult should really go back and listen to that episode
• 20:08
Speaker 2: because there's a ton of information as to why a
• 20:11
Speaker 2: divorce coach is actually a huge asset when going through
• 20:16
  Speaker 2: something like this.
• 20:16
Speaker 1: I mean you say asset, I think of again, of
• 20:19
Speaker 1: the finances of that, and I think, imagine the money
• 20:22
Speaker 1: you could save on attorney's fees if you have someone
• 20:26
Speaker 1: guiding you so that it's not contentious. And I you know,
• 20:32
Speaker 1: I actually am going to go back. I don't know
• 20:33
Speaker 1: why I haven't listened to that episode and good stuff.
• 20:36
Speaker 1: I mean, I don't plan on having being divorced at
• 20:38
Speaker 1: this point, but I still I want the information.
• 20:41
Speaker 2: You want the info for sure to share.
• 20:43
Speaker 1: With my friends. You know a lot of whom obviously
• 20:46
Speaker 1: are going through it, and I really have. I've yet
• 20:50
Speaker 1: to know a couple that got divorced that where it
• 20:54
Speaker 1: was friendly at the beginning and during afterwards sometimes it
• 20:58
  Speaker 1: gets friendly.
• 21:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're saying that conscious uncoupling like Gwyneth Paltrow
• 21:04
  Speaker 2: isn't a thing.
• 21:08
  Speaker 1: I can't with that. I can't even throw up in
• 21:10
  Speaker 1: my mouth.
• 21:11
  Speaker 2: I can't. I can't.
• 21:19
Speaker 3: Hey guys, it's Cheryl Burke. Okay, So I have to
• 21:21
Speaker 3: put you onto these leggings I've been so obsessed with lately.
• 21:24
Speaker 3: They're from this brand called Tona, and get this, the
• 21:27
Speaker 3: designer behind them also created Lululemon, so they know exactly
• 21:31
Speaker 3: what they're doing. These leggings are next level think buttery soft,
• 21:35
Speaker 3: super flattering, and very comfortable. Also, they are supportive in
• 21:39
Speaker 3: all the right places. I started worrying them for when
• 21:42
Speaker 3: I take my dog on walks, but now I'm basically
• 21:45
Speaker 3: living in them. And here's what makes them even better.
• 21:48
Speaker 3: Every pairy buy helps fund a mental health counseling session
• 21:51
Speaker 3: for a teen in need. Tona's on a mission to
• 21:53
Speaker 3: end teen suicide and self harm, which we think is
• 21:56
Speaker 3: so important and incredible, And we've partnered with Tona to
• 21:59
Speaker 3: give twenty percent off your order and free shipping. So
• 22:03
Speaker 3: head to tona active dot com and use code iHeart
• 22:06
Speaker 3: for twenty percent off and free shipping.
• 22:10
Speaker 1: So here's a sad state of affairs, really sad. Kelly
• 22:14
Speaker 1: Clarkson and her late ex husband Brandon. I think it's
• 22:20
Speaker 1: is it? I thought it was beer stock blackstock, blackstock, blackstock.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: Reebe McIntyre's step son. So he passed from melanoma recently,
• 22:33
Speaker 1: and she's I guess she's feeling like the stress of
• 22:38
Speaker 1: the divorce might have exacerbated, you know, the disease. And
• 22:43
Speaker 1: and I don't know what I believe in terms of that.
• 22:45
Speaker 1: I mean, I know people say that stress brings out,
• 22:48
Speaker 1: you know, manifests physically, but it's so I was thinking
• 22:52
Speaker 1: about this and how it must be so hard for her,
• 22:56
Speaker 1: you know, it's so final and and it's been they
• 22:59
Speaker 1: did They also had a very contentious uncoupling. So you
• 23:03
Speaker 1: know what I was thinking about my grandparents, and both
• 23:08
Speaker 1: of my grandmothers hated my grandfather's like nasty, nasty relationships,
• 23:17
Speaker 1: and I think they resented the fact that back in
• 23:19
Speaker 1: the day, when they were young people getting married, the
• 23:25
Speaker 1: wife was expected to have You know, my nanna used
• 23:28
Speaker 1: to say, a protein, a vegetable, and a starch on
• 23:31
Speaker 1: the table when he got home, and he had nothing
• 23:34
Speaker 1: to do with the kids, and he didn't. It wasn't
• 23:37
Speaker 1: like go watch them play softball. There was the king
• 23:40
Speaker 1: got home, he was served dinner. She had so much
• 23:44
Speaker 1: resentment about the fact that he didn't really interact with
• 23:48
Speaker 1: her or her boys, and so as they got older,
• 23:51
Speaker 1: it was so ugly right between them. But once he died, Poppy,
• 23:56
Speaker 1: I called him poppy. But once he died, she became
• 23:59
Speaker 1: so sad and missed him so much, and both actually
• 24:04
Speaker 1: both of my grandmothers talked about it, and unfortunately they
• 24:06
Speaker 1: both died soon after their husbands passed. And they talked
• 24:11
Speaker 1: so nicely about their husbands, and they were my They
• 24:14
Speaker 1: weren't trying to impress me. I knew the relationships they
• 24:16
Speaker 1: were my grandparents, But I think sometimes the finality right
• 24:20
Speaker 1: of death like that. And I don't know if this
• 24:22
Speaker 1: is what's going on for Kelly, but you look back
• 24:25
Speaker 1: and you think I would have done things differently. I
• 24:28
Speaker 1: would have said things differently. Maybe I would have been
• 24:30
Speaker 1: more gentle, maybe I would have been more empathetic. And again,
• 24:35
  Speaker 1: I don't know that's what Kelly's going through, but what
• 24:38
Speaker 1: she's saying is reminding me of this like feeling of that.
• 24:43
Speaker 1: I think both my grandmothers had that. They were so
• 24:46
Speaker 1: hard on my grandfather's and there was nothing looking back,
• 24:50
Speaker 1: there was nothing they could do to fix it. And
• 24:52
Speaker 1: I think they both felt guilty about their partner. My
• 24:55
Speaker 1: grandfathers were not saints, so there's that. But I feel
• 24:59
Speaker 1: for Kelly Clarkson because she's carrying around, you know, that
• 25:03
Speaker 1: guilt and feeling like the stress contributed to the cancer.
• 25:08
Speaker 1: It's a hard thing to live with, right.
• 25:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, I listen. I think this whole situation is overall
• 25:14
  Speaker 2: really sad.
• 25:15
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 25:16
Speaker 2: They have, like you said, they had gone through a
• 25:20
Speaker 2: difficult divorce a couple of years ago, and they have
• 25:24
Speaker 2: two kids, you know, River eleven and son Remington, who's nine,
• 25:29
Speaker 2: so you know, and this is all right, We don't
• 25:34
Speaker 2: have any direct fact. This is just being reported right
• 25:37
Speaker 2: now in the press that you know, although the timing
• 25:41
Speaker 2: could be purely coincidental. This source says that Kelly knows
• 25:45
Speaker 2: how much tension the divorce and the lawsuits put on them,
• 25:49
Speaker 2: and they're saying that she's not blaming herself, but the
• 25:53
Speaker 2: emphasize that she is conscious that the double whammy of
• 25:56
Speaker 2: the divorce and the fact that he had to repay
• 25:59
Speaker 2: her millions of dollars was very tough on him, and
• 26:04
Speaker 2: it really brought up for me personally. I really appreciate
• 26:07
Speaker 2: you sharing your insight in with your family. For me,
• 26:13
Speaker 2: my parents were divorced when I was really young and
• 26:17
Speaker 2: I lost my mom. It was just recently it's been
• 26:21
Speaker 2: ten years, and I thank you. And I remember the
• 26:27
Speaker 2: situation of my father navigating the grief of losing his
• 26:32
Speaker 2: ex wife, and it was a really it was a
• 26:37
Speaker 2: delicate dance. My dad is remarried, but I think that
• 26:42
Speaker 2: there was an Obviously Kelly is, as far as we know,
• 26:46
Speaker 2: is not in another public relationship at this time. But
• 26:50
Speaker 2: I think that there was a time where my dad
• 26:53
Speaker 2: felt that he wanted to grieve. Obviously, the woman that
• 26:57
Speaker 2: he had a family with that he had children with,
• 27:00
Speaker 2: but was also consciously, you know, trying to not lap
• 27:04
Speaker 2: in terms of his own marriage. So I think that
• 27:06
Speaker 2: that's an interesting situation to be in when I mean,
• 27:12
Speaker 2: my parents definitely didn't have the easiest of divorce, but
• 27:16
Speaker 2: once they were able to get through, it maintained a
• 27:19
Speaker 2: very friendly relationship up until my mother's passing. I mean,
• 27:22
Speaker 2: I love that very friendly. I would get together constantly
• 27:27
Speaker 2: for dinner, even when we were grown and out of
• 27:29
Speaker 2: the house, just the two of them, And so it
• 27:33
Speaker 2: wasn't something that I was expecting when going through the
• 27:36
Speaker 2: grief process to also be seeing my dad going through it,
• 27:40
Speaker 2: which I mean, you think about it on paper, and
• 27:44
Speaker 2: it does make sense. But I think that's what a
• 27:46
Speaker 2: lot of people maybe don't think about when they've gotten divorced,
• 27:51
Speaker 2: especially when we talk about some of these really contentious
• 27:53
Speaker 2: divorces that are happening right Like if your ex spouse,
• 27:58
Speaker 2: you know, is there one moment and gone then and
• 28:00
Speaker 2: then you are ultimately a total single parent. That's a
• 28:06
Speaker 2: lot to take on, especially again when these kids are
• 28:09
Speaker 2: very young now to have lost their fathers.
• 28:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that there's right. It's so multi dimensional.
• 28:16
Speaker 1: It's imagine to sorrow for your kids, you know, it's
• 28:19
Speaker 1: all it's so funny. It's all reminded me of Margaret
• 28:22
Speaker 1: Joseph's and Joe Binigno, and Margaret was on the pod
• 28:25
Speaker 1: and and her ex husband passed or ex husband jan
• 28:28
Speaker 1: and it was all very public, it was on the show.
• 28:31
Speaker 1: But how she felt it was hard because she you know,
• 28:35
Speaker 1: she's married and they have a fabulous marriage, but at
• 28:39
Speaker 1: the time she was really she had a really more
• 28:41
Speaker 1: in her ex. They also had a friendly relationship. And
• 28:43
Speaker 1: then also you know, feeling of if you're you went
• 28:47
Speaker 1: through a contentious divorce. And I'm sure the kids always
• 28:49
Speaker 1: know right they have even if they don't know, they
• 28:52
Speaker 1: know that it's ugly between mom and dad. At least
• 28:55
Speaker 1: that's what my therapist tells me. But so looking back
• 28:58
Speaker 1: on that and and I don't there's something to be
• 29:02
Speaker 1: said for really working towards an amicable split, and I
• 29:10
Speaker 1: think there's you look at cases like this and it
• 29:12
Speaker 1: gives you a lot of insight. I remember Kelly being
• 29:14
Speaker 1: really angry, and I'm not saying she didn't have a
• 29:17
Speaker 1: good reason to be, but I wonder if she had
• 29:21
Speaker 1: known then what she knows now it would have been different,
• 29:25
Speaker 1: she would have been maybe not. And I again, and
• 29:28
Speaker 1: I'm sure he was really angry, and I don't know
• 29:30
Speaker 1: what he was like to deal with. This has nothing
• 29:31
  Speaker 1: to do. I'm not I wasn't. I'm not making judge,
• 29:34
Speaker 1: making a judgment. I'm just wondering, if you know, after
• 29:37
Speaker 1: the finality of death, people do look back and wish
• 29:41
Speaker 1: that they had done it differently, And it's a good
• 29:45
  Speaker 1: I just think it's a good It's some good insight
• 29:48
Speaker 1: for anyone going through it. I'm not saying picture. I'm
• 29:50
Speaker 1: sure many people going through the force wish their partner
• 29:52
Speaker 1: was dead or think that they wish that their partner
• 29:54
Speaker 1: was dead. But you know, there's nothing to be done now,
• 29:57
Speaker 1: there's nothing that is. You can't change what happened. You
• 30:01
Speaker 1: can't go back, and you know, I think about that
• 30:04
Speaker 1: also a little off topic, but with my with my parents,
• 30:08
Speaker 1: my father and I had a difficult relationship and it
• 30:13
Speaker 1: was really difficult and now we are good and but
• 30:18
Speaker 1: there's still stuff right and I also help my dad
• 30:22
  Speaker 1: financially and I do it. I don't want any I
• 30:28
Speaker 1: don't want to look back. He's you know, he's eighty
• 30:31
Speaker 1: three years old and wish that I had said something
• 30:34
  Speaker 1: that I didn't say. I wish that I had acted
• 30:36
  Speaker 1: in a way I didn't act or helped when I
• 30:39
Speaker 1: didn't help. I want to I do these things for me, right,
• 30:43
Speaker 1: That is what I've I've learned in therapy. And so
• 30:46
Speaker 1: this relationship I have with him now, which is really
• 30:48
Speaker 1: nice and warm and loving, I have I've worked like
• 30:55
Speaker 1: very consciously in terms of like developing that because I
• 30:58
Speaker 1: don't want to look back one day and regret not
• 31:01
Speaker 1: having had a relationship with my dad, or you know,
• 31:03
Speaker 1: I wish I had helped him more. But yeah, again
• 31:05
Speaker 1: that's off topic, but I'm just saying that it's something
• 31:11
Speaker 1: to think about. You know, these are lessons.
• 31:13
Speaker 2: The sentiment is there for sure that life is short.
• 31:17
Speaker 2: Do all that you can. And you know, we're obviously
• 31:21
Speaker 2: wishing Kelly Clarkson and her kids and you know, Brandon's
• 31:26
Speaker 2: family that has all been affected by his passing, we're
• 31:30
Speaker 2: obviously all wishing them the best. And here we are
• 31:32
Speaker 2: this difficult time because it is going to take time
• 31:35
Speaker 2: to heal from something like this. It's that's a major
• 31:38
  Speaker 2: loss for that.
• 31:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, agreed, Okay, but on to yet another couple,
• 31:45
Speaker 1: who who's going through it? So Jay Cutler and excuse me,
• 31:51
Speaker 1: Kristin Cavalary. So, I guess Kristin recently said that you
• 31:56
Speaker 1: got no money from the divorce, right. What do you
• 32:01
Speaker 1: think of that, Heather.
• 32:01
Speaker 2: I think it's a little interesting because you know, Jay
• 32:05
Speaker 2: kind of you know, got back at her recently in
• 32:09
Speaker 2: an interview, and we can get into that. But these two,
• 32:14
Speaker 2: these two have been divorced for a minute. Yeah, and
• 32:18
Speaker 2: I think it's kind of telling that the both of
• 32:23
Speaker 2: them can't really seem to stop talking about the other.
• 32:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, we are stuck in when did they get married
• 32:30
Speaker 1: the eighties? I don't even know. No, maybe not.
• 32:33
Speaker 2: They definitely didn't get married in the eighties.
• 32:35
Speaker 1: Now lich longer. Sorry, guys, that's my age showing. They
• 32:38
Speaker 1: just feels like they've been yeah, because they're not that old.
• 32:41
Speaker 1: They're not that old. It feels like they've been married
• 32:44
Speaker 1: and divorced and hate each other forever.
• 32:46
Speaker 2: It's just really interesting. Like Kristen has obviously had other
• 32:50
Speaker 2: public relationships romances since this divorce, and you know, the
• 32:56
Speaker 2: stuff about Jay continues to come out. And I will say,
• 33:00
Speaker 2: you know, I'm a little bit torn on this because
• 33:02
Speaker 2: I do. I have been a longtime fan of Kristen
• 33:05
Speaker 2: and do love that she shoots straight. She gives it
• 33:08
Speaker 2: honest and real on her podcast in interviews, she always
• 33:13
Speaker 2: doesn't hold back right, and this is why people love her,
• 33:16
Speaker 2: and this is why she has maintained, you know, what
• 33:19
Speaker 2: could have been deemed as a five minutes in Hollywood
• 33:23
Speaker 2: and really stretched that over the course of over a
• 33:26
Speaker 2: decade now. And I think that that is really because
• 33:29
Speaker 2: she is open and honest with her audience, and that's
• 33:33
Speaker 2: why they love her now for all you know everything,
• 33:37
Speaker 2: Jay you know, was a huge football career with the
• 33:41
Speaker 2: Chicago Bears, and you know, after he retired, he and
• 33:47
Speaker 2: Kristen had a reality show which really did open him
• 33:51
Speaker 2: up to a new audience. We got to see his
• 33:53
Speaker 2: kind of funny personality. And now I believe he's doing
• 33:56
Speaker 2: sports broadcasting and stuff like that so in his post
• 34:00
Speaker 2: retirement career. But you know, I really we should talk
• 34:04
Speaker 2: about exactly what he said.
• 34:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, it made sense what he said. You know, he
• 34:10
Speaker 1: said that there's not a judge in the state of
• 34:12
Speaker 1: Tennessee that would have signed an agreement stating that Jay
• 34:16
Speaker 1: would keep every single dollar he made throughout their marriage. Yeah,
• 34:22
Speaker 1: he was. Apparently he was one of the was once
• 34:24
Speaker 1: the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. He signed one
• 34:29
Speaker 1: hundred and twenty six million dollar contract with the Chicago Bears.
• 34:36
Speaker 1: And you know, saying that Kristen saying that she got
• 34:40
Speaker 1: no money from the divorce, it definitely feels far fetched
• 34:44
Speaker 1: to me. I can't read, okay, but also I guess,
• 34:51
Speaker 1: and she has a whole lifestyle brand now right, she
• 34:54
Speaker 1: done James, and that's making a ton of money from
• 34:57
  Speaker 1: what I'm reading.
• 34:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, and she she has maintained that she has one
• 35:02
Speaker 2: hundred percent of that company and that she never took
• 35:05
Speaker 2: outside funding and Jay did not have anything to do
• 35:08
Speaker 2: with its creation, and that it's making you know, fifty
• 35:12
Speaker 2: million a year in revenue, which, go girl, I think
• 35:15
Speaker 2: that's awesome. You know, she said I have never gotten
• 35:18
Speaker 2: a penny from my ex husband and added I didn't
• 35:21
Speaker 2: get any money from him in the divorce. So let's
• 35:23
Speaker 2: clear that up, thank you.
• 35:25
Speaker 1: I mean that if you maybe she's saying she had
• 35:29
Speaker 1: her own money and in her mind what she got
• 35:32
Speaker 1: was was her I mean maybe that could be interpreted
• 35:35
Speaker 1: different ways, but yes, it definitely sounds unlikely to me
• 35:40
Speaker 1: that he was making one hundred and twenty six million
• 35:44
Speaker 1: dollars and she walked away with nothing. That sounds implausible
• 35:47
  Speaker 1: to me.
• 35:47
Speaker 2: And I'll also back it up with you and I
• 35:50
Speaker 2: both know that divorce costs a lot of money. Divorce
• 35:54
Speaker 2: lawyers are not cheap. So is it that she got
• 35:57
Speaker 2: money but it went to paying divorce laws and she
• 36:00
  Speaker 2: didn't come out with a prophet that's a different story.
• 36:03
Speaker 2: That doesn't mean you didn't get any money. It means
• 36:06
Speaker 2: that your money went to paying for your divorce proceedings.
• 36:09
Speaker 1: It just feels like it was probably so much money there.
• 36:13
  Speaker 1: I don't know, but I would I would think if
• 36:16
Speaker 1: Kristen was my daughter. You're right, she was not an
• 36:18
  Speaker 1: eighties girl.
• 36:19
Speaker 2: No, Kristin and I are around the scene.
• 36:21
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, okay, all right, piped down Heather. So,
• 36:25
Speaker 1: but if Kristin was my daughter, which I guess she
• 36:28
Speaker 1: could be, I would definitely be advising her to shh, stop,
• 36:34
Speaker 1: just stop, especially because it seems that she's thriving.
• 36:37
Speaker 2: She is thriving, and they have three kids. They are thirteen, eleven,
• 36:43
Speaker 2: and nine, and so to me, it's also like, let's
• 36:47
Speaker 2: zip it a little just because there's a great way
• 36:51
Speaker 2: that it's getting back, not getting back to the kids.
• 36:54
Speaker 1: At the Breed listen, and according to Jay, he says
• 36:58
Speaker 1: her lifestyle brand was a marital asset because Kristen, you know,
• 37:04
Speaker 1: funded the company while they were married. Another reason ladies
• 37:08
Speaker 1: and gentlemen to get a prenup by the way, or
• 37:12
  Speaker 1: a post up exactly. But yeah, I just I it's
• 37:18
Speaker 1: I would definitely advise if it's my daughter or my son,
• 37:22
Speaker 1: I would be advising them both to zip it. Okay,
• 37:35
Speaker 1: So here's some eighties news, Heather, it's not Kristin Larry.
• 37:41
Speaker 2: I still don't think this is eighties news.
• 37:44
  Speaker 1: Kevin Federline is I mean, I'm saying he's he's talking
• 37:48
Speaker 1: about his Brittany in his Kevin Federline has a new
• 37:50
Speaker 1: book coming out, guys, but he's speaking about Britney. That
• 37:54
Speaker 1: had to have been the eighties.
• 37:56
  Speaker 2: Jen.
• 37:56
Speaker 1: No, yes, hold on a second. So Kevin Fetterline is
• 38:01
  Speaker 1: bringing his story.
• 38:03
Speaker 2: They got married in two thousand and four and divorced
• 38:05
Speaker 2: in two thousand and seven.
• 38:07
Speaker 1: No, Jen, Oh my god, you guys, Okay, I'm not
• 38:13
Speaker 1: a credible source. So what I'm old, Give me a break,
• 38:17
Speaker 1: What do you want from me? I'm doing the best
• 38:19
Speaker 1: I can be. Quiet, Heather, this is anyway he's going back.
• 38:22
Speaker 1: What I'm saying is he's writing a book. Wait a second, Heather,
• 38:26
Speaker 1: when I was in college. I went to college from
• 38:28
Speaker 1: eighty six to ninety and while I was in college,
• 38:33
Speaker 1: Britney Spears was doing her thing. Right.
• 38:37
Speaker 2: No, Jen, she did not pop onto the scene until
• 38:40
Speaker 2: nineteen ninety nine. What are you talking about?
• 38:44
Speaker 1: Are you sure someone look that up?
• 38:45
Speaker 2: Britney Spears came out with her debut album in like
• 38:48
Speaker 2: ninety eight, ninety nine. I know because she was my
• 38:52
Speaker 2: first concert. She opened for n Sync and that was
• 38:56
Speaker 2: January of nineteen ninety nine.
• 38:59
Speaker 1: Quiet, fine, whatever, We'll move on anyway. The point is
• 39:03
Speaker 1: it still feels like Kevin feederline is it's an interesting
• 39:07
Speaker 1: time for him to be writing a book about and
• 39:11
Speaker 1: I'm I think anybody would assume that it's going to
• 39:13
Speaker 1: have a lot to do with Britney. This book. That's
• 39:15
Speaker 1: what's going to make it so interesting, right. But also
• 39:17
Speaker 1: apparently his son, their son just turned I don't know,
• 39:21
Speaker 1: seventeen or eighteen, and I guess child support is over.
• 39:25
Speaker 2: Yes, So the new book, his new his first memoir
• 39:29
Speaker 2: is called You Thought You knew, and it's coming out
• 39:34
Speaker 2: October twenty first, And yeah, I think it's really interesting
• 39:40
Speaker 2: timing because him and Brittany have two sons, Sean Preston
• 39:44
Speaker 2: and Jayden James. Sean is nineteen Jade and James recently
• 39:49
Speaker 2: turned eighteen. So that and anybody that's followed the Britney
• 39:56
Speaker 2: story knows that a couple of years ago, Kevin to
• 40:00
Speaker 2: you know, full custody of the boys and was raising them.
• 40:04
Speaker 2: So that means that Britney was paying child support. So
• 40:09
Speaker 2: that obviously means that it's most likely done now that
• 40:12
Speaker 2: they are eighteen. Now, who's to say that she's not
• 40:15
Speaker 2: still supporting them in some way financially. But I think
• 40:18
Speaker 2: it's really interesting that this is now when Kevin decides
• 40:22
Speaker 2: to come out with a memoir. Now we also know
• 40:25
Speaker 2: that Britney had her own memoir that came out and
• 40:28
Speaker 2: is also being made into a movie. You know, I
• 40:32
Speaker 2: just feel like, I don't know, you can you tell me.
• 40:35
Speaker 2: I feel like Brittany, we all know, has been through
• 40:38
Speaker 2: a lot, and it kind of bums me out that
• 40:41
Speaker 2: now somebody else again in her life, in her inner circle,
• 40:47
Speaker 2: is going to try a buck off of her.
• 40:50
Speaker 1: I gotta tell you guys something, Heather, you are one
• 40:52
Speaker 1: amongst many. But but Britney lovers like people that I
• 40:58
Speaker 1: know younger than me, but that grew up on Brittany.
• 41:02
Speaker 1: They are emotional about everything Brittany. They get so upset.
• 41:07
Speaker 1: My friend and my manager loves Brittany, Like, don't you
• 41:13
Speaker 1: say a bad word about Brittany. I remember even when
• 41:17
Speaker 1: I was recording season we were doing filming Season fourteen,
• 41:21
Speaker 1: Rachel Fuda, we had a whole funny thing about Brittany
• 41:24
Speaker 1: because you do not diss Brittany in front of her.
• 41:27
Speaker 1: So people get very sensitive about Brittany. And I think
• 41:31
Speaker 1: probably because she's definitely seemed over the years to be
• 41:37
Speaker 1: she's always struggling, you know, with her mental health. With paparazzi,
• 41:42
Speaker 1: we all watched her shave her head and take the
• 41:44
Speaker 1: baseball back to the car and so talented, right, was
• 41:48
Speaker 1: so much to offer this world.
• 41:50
Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think anybody who's listened or read her memoir,
• 41:55
Speaker 2: it was eye opening. It was extremely sad to hear
• 41:59
Speaker 2: about how she has been internally struggling this past you know, decade. Really,
• 42:07
Speaker 2: So I will play a little bit of Devil's advocate
• 42:09
Speaker 2: in the sense that. Because I did read Britney's memoir,
• 42:12
Speaker 2: I do know that Kevin was mentioned quite a bit
• 42:15
Speaker 2: in it because he is a big chunk and important
• 42:18
Speaker 2: part of her life. He was her second husband and
• 42:21
Speaker 2: the only one that she had children with. So you know,
• 42:26
Speaker 2: I will say that Kevin does have the right to
• 42:31
Speaker 2: write a book and mention Brittany and talk about his life.
• 42:34
Speaker 2: He says, you know that it's going to be extremely
• 42:38
Speaker 2: intimate and transparent when it comes to this book. And
• 42:43
Speaker 2: if anybody didn't know, prior to being with Britney, Kevin
• 42:47
Speaker 2: was a professional dancer. He danced with my major in
• 42:51
  Speaker 2: Pink Destiny's Child.
• 42:53
Speaker 1: Right, he was a dancer. He was back, Yeah, he was.
• 42:56
Speaker 2: He was dancing for her. So he was also with
• 42:59
Speaker 2: shar Jackson prior to being with Brittany. So he had
• 43:02
Speaker 2: a child or two children with her. Right, it's not
• 43:06
Speaker 2: a life, you know. I won't deny that.
• 43:09
Speaker 1: But you're protective over Brittany.
• 43:11
  Speaker 2: I just think it's a little bit of a bummer
• 43:13
Speaker 2: that this keeps happening to her, and I just want Brittany.
• 43:16
Speaker 2: I don't want to say leave Brittany alone, which is
• 43:19
Speaker 2: obviously the famous quote, but I do want Brittany to
• 43:23
Speaker 2: have a you know, I wish her a lot of
• 43:25
Speaker 2: peace and to have a different lifestyle now that you
• 43:28
Speaker 2: know she's gone through her second public divorce with Sam.
• 43:32
Speaker 1: I'd love Brittany. I love her music, and I've certainly watched,
• 43:36
Speaker 1: you know, what she's been through, and but I can't
• 43:40
Speaker 1: begrudge him, you know, trying to make the big bucks,
• 43:45
Speaker 1: and I think it will sell. There's that.
• 43:48
Speaker 2: I think so too, and I think it's going to
• 43:50
Speaker 2: get a lot of attention.
• 43:51
Speaker 1: We just feel bad for Brittany, is basically what you're saying.
• 43:53
  Speaker 1: And I don't. I do too, but I I have
• 43:56
Speaker 1: to say that, you know, man's got to eat. I
• 44:00
Speaker 1: don't know, and and maybe there are there are other
• 44:02
Speaker 1: ways to do it, But you know, I also do
• 44:05
Speaker 1: think that Brittany obviously, I'm I'm thrilled when her Conservative
• 44:11
Speaker 1: conservatorship was thrown out right, but she still to me,
• 44:17
Speaker 1: doesn't seem well and maybe how I you know, I
• 44:22
Speaker 1: see her dancing like everybody's kind of teases about her
• 44:25
Speaker 1: dancing with knives, and she seems a little a little unglued.
• 44:30
Speaker 1: But I'm on the shrink. But having said all that,
• 44:34
Speaker 1: I wonder what it's been like for him and his
• 44:36
Speaker 1: boys dealing with that, right, because they don't deal with
• 44:40
Speaker 1: it like we deal with it. We watch it and
• 44:42
Speaker 1: we feel badly or we you know, feel sometimes even
• 44:46
Speaker 1: amused seeing everything seems so wild. And but for him,
• 44:49
Speaker 1: I'm sure that's been very hard. Certainly it has to
• 44:52
Speaker 1: have been for his boys. So he has a story
• 44:54
  Speaker 1: to tell. And I, you know, don't I don't wish
• 44:59
Speaker 1: that on, you know, any more sadness or any more
• 45:02
Speaker 1: controversy for Brittany. But I don't know. I sort of
• 45:07
Speaker 1: feel like I don't blame him. How's that?
• 45:11
Speaker 2: I agree? And I get again, you know, she's come
• 45:14
Speaker 2: out with hers talked about him. I guess he has
• 45:17
Speaker 2: every right to come out with his own now and
• 45:18
Speaker 2: talk about her. So we'll stay glued to it. It's
• 45:21
Speaker 2: coming out October twenty first you thought you knew, So
• 45:24
Speaker 2: we'll keep you guys updated on that one.
• 45:27
Speaker 1: It's a good title, it is.
• 45:29
Speaker 2: It is kind of a good title.
• 45:30
Speaker 1: I do like that, right, I do too. You want
• 45:34
Speaker 1: to talk to Jessica Alba and Cash Warren?
• 45:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we got to end this episode on
• 45:38
  Speaker 2: some positives.
• 45:41
Speaker 1: We could do. Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau. I just
• 45:44
Speaker 1: thought it was justin throw Justin Trudeau.
• 45:47
Speaker 2: Justin Trudeau is different than Justin.
• 45:50
Speaker 1: Through Okay, see this, I hadn't heard about this one before.
• 45:53
Speaker 1: The Katy Perry in my mind, she's just like split
• 45:57
Speaker 1: with Orlando, so she did.
• 45:59
  Speaker 3: She did know.
• 46:00
Speaker 2: That's what I think is amazing that we should let
• 46:03
Speaker 2: our listeners know is that there is light at the
• 46:05
Speaker 2: end of the tunnel, and some people are finding that
• 46:07
Speaker 2: light a little sooner than maybe others are. We got
• 46:20
Speaker 2: to end on something positive because, like you know, Jessica
• 46:24
Speaker 2: Alba and Cash Warren, they were together for married for
• 46:28
Speaker 2: sixteen years, and at the top of this year they
• 46:30
Speaker 2: announced that they were separating and going through the divorce motions,
• 46:34
Speaker 2: which was pretty shocking. I think to anybody that has,
• 46:39
Speaker 2: you know, followed either Jessica through her launching of The
• 46:42
Speaker 2: Honest Company or her you know, acting career, nobody really
• 46:47
Speaker 2: saw kind of trouble in Paradise.
• 46:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, they always presented. They're so gorgeous, exactly, and they
• 46:54
Speaker 1: just right always presented, at least to me on red carpets,
• 46:57
Speaker 1: is just madly in love and yeah, this really beautiful
• 47:01
  Speaker 1: power couple.
• 47:02
Speaker 2: Exactly, and they've got three kids seventeen, fourteen, and seven.
• 47:08
Speaker 2: So yeah, that was pretty shocking at the top of
• 47:10
Speaker 2: this year for them to announce that. But it looks
• 47:13
Speaker 2: like they are both moving on in their own ways
• 47:16
Speaker 2: and are doing quite well. So Cash was seen for
• 47:20
Speaker 2: the second time holding hands with Hannahson Doer I will
• 47:25
Speaker 2: say is how it's pronounced having dinner in Los Angeles,
• 47:29
Speaker 2: so that a lot of sources are saying makes it
• 47:32
Speaker 2: official because they've been seen twice holding out. So I
• 47:36
Speaker 2: mean take that with a grain of salt. But you know,
• 47:40
  Speaker 2: I think definitely, when you're a public figure and you're
• 47:43
Speaker 2: out there holding hands, getting you know, snapped by the paparazzi,
• 47:48
Speaker 2: it means that you're comfortable or you're cool with people.
• 47:50
Speaker 1: See Hopefully, it means that you've also talked to your kids, hope,
• 47:54
Speaker 1: and that they knew it was coming. I mean to
• 47:55
Speaker 1: think of the Mauricio of it all when he was snapped.
• 47:59
Speaker 1: Oh and yeah, right, that is the thing. I mean,
• 48:03
Speaker 1: all roads lead back to the kids, and that's you know,
• 48:07
Speaker 1: that's the part that it gets it gets really where
• 48:09
Speaker 1: it gets really sticky.
• 48:11
Speaker 2: What I would say about the most situation, which is
• 48:13
Speaker 2: a little different than this is these two Cash and Hannah.
• 48:18
Speaker 2: They're holding hands, they're smiling, and they're looking exactly like
• 48:22
Speaker 2: directly to the camera.
• 48:24
Speaker 1: They're not getting caught, so their kids are probably and
• 48:26
Speaker 1: you don't know how long they've been in the midst
• 48:28
Speaker 1: of separating and what the kid right of course exactly.
• 48:31
Speaker 2: So I'm gonna toss it out there that they're probably
• 48:35
Speaker 2: feeling good about this relationship. It seems to be progressing,
• 48:38
Speaker 2: whatever it is. But also I kind of love that.
• 48:42
Speaker 2: You know. We've also seen paparazzi photos of Jessica Alba
• 48:46
Speaker 2: and Danny Ramirez, so they've been spotted kissing. We've actually
• 48:51
Speaker 2: seen pictures of them kissing, and you know, she seems
• 48:55
Speaker 2: to be happy. She was recently also like vacationing and
• 48:59
Speaker 2: like posting some really hot photos of herself in a bikini.
• 49:04
Speaker 2: So it seems like they're both doing their thing.
• 49:07
Speaker 1: Well listen, yeah, it does. I again, since they're from
• 49:11
Speaker 1: the eighties, I love it, and I'm there i'm their
• 49:20
Speaker 1: mother's age, but I probably am. But I would just
• 49:23
Speaker 1: tell them I would beg of them, don't rush, don't
• 49:26
Speaker 1: rush into the next thing, and and and all those
• 49:29
Speaker 1: cliches you know, I feel like there are cliches for
• 49:33
Speaker 1: a reason. You don't want your rebound to end up
• 49:38
Speaker 1: being your Oh, although I'm not saying it never works right,
• 49:40
Speaker 1: Maybe maybe that's what's going on here, But be very
• 49:44
Speaker 1: careful about rebound relationships, you guys. They are sticky. Your
• 49:50
Speaker 1: emotions are all over the place, especially when you are
• 49:55
Speaker 1: coming out of a marriage. And I'm not saying that
• 49:56
Speaker 1: maybe each maybe Jessica and Cash have now found true
• 50:01
Speaker 1: happiness with these other, you know, two people, but careful, careful,
• 50:05
Speaker 1: slowed it down. Danger warning ahead, danger ahead.
• 50:10
Speaker 2: Well let's end. Let's end on this other interesting headline
• 50:15
Speaker 2: that we're seeing, which is Katy Perry and former Prime
• 50:20
Speaker 2: Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau are dating.
• 50:25
Speaker 1: And so at first when I read that, Heather, I
• 50:27
Speaker 1: thought it was Justin Threau. Just so, you know, so
• 50:30
Speaker 1: everything I have to I have to sort of this
• 50:32
Speaker 1: is all. This is so bizarre to me. I have
• 50:34
Speaker 1: to now Justin Threau would have made sense. Justin Trudeau.
• 50:39
Speaker 1: He's gorgeous, so whatever you want to say about him,
• 50:42
Speaker 1: man is handsome exactly. Obviously Katie is gorgeous as well.
• 50:46
  Speaker 1: And but what I know, I can't I'm trying to
• 50:51
Speaker 1: like you explained that to me?
• 50:54
Speaker 2: How did that? How bizarre? So, I mean the headline
• 50:57
Speaker 2: says that they have plenty to talk about, but no
• 51:00
Speaker 2: current plans after date. So if anybody's been paying attention
• 51:05
Speaker 2: to the headlines, these two were spotted having dinner together
• 51:11
Speaker 2: and then two days later, Trudeau was spotted at Katy
• 51:15
Speaker 2: Perry's show in Montreal. So you know, Katie is fresh
• 51:22
Speaker 2: off of her broken engagement with Orlando Bloom, who she
• 51:27
Speaker 2: had a child with though they were never married. Obviously,
• 51:31
Speaker 2: if everybody can go back in their brains, they know
• 51:34
Speaker 2: that Katie was previously married to Russell Brand, so she
• 51:37
Speaker 2: definitely is in her Part two Part three era.
• 51:41
Speaker 1: These come on the pod for some reason, not if
• 51:44
Speaker 1: I'm I feel like maybe maybe if Jenny Garth or
• 51:49
  Speaker 1: Amy and TJ.
• 51:51
Speaker 2: Listen always open to Katie coming on, if she would
• 51:54
Speaker 2: be interested in that, Yeah, Kati, you hear that.
• 51:58
  Speaker 1: Justin.
• 51:58
Speaker 2: Trudeau, on the other hand, and and his wife Sophie,
• 52:03
Speaker 2: announced in August of twenty twenty three that they were
• 52:06
Speaker 2: separating after eighteen years of marriage and they have two children,
• 52:13
Speaker 2: so that's a really long relationship to have ended. And
• 52:18
Speaker 2: then obviously if you're following politics whatsoever. You know that
• 52:23
Speaker 2: he also stepped down as Prime Minister of Canada not
• 52:27
Speaker 2: too long ago. So he's definitely going through a big
• 52:31
Speaker 2: shift right now in terms of his not only work life,
• 52:35
Speaker 2: but his personal life. So, you know, I don't know.
• 52:38
Speaker 2: I will say that the pictures I saw of them
• 52:40
Speaker 2: on their date, I was like, uh, you know, attractive couple,
• 52:44
  Speaker 2: and obviously.
• 52:45
  Speaker 1: Oh they're dating. I don't even I will be.
• 52:47
Speaker 2: I will be totally honest. I have followed Katy Perry's
• 52:51
Speaker 2: romantic life probably more than I would care to admit,
• 52:55
Speaker 2: and I will say that I really don't get what
• 52:58
Speaker 2: her type is. I say that honestly.
• 53:01
Speaker 1: I mean, okay, ready, don't cringe. She kissed a girl
• 53:03
Speaker 1: and she liked it. Ew ew, I'm so cringey. Oh
• 53:08
Speaker 1: my god, my kids would be so pissed. Don't listen.
• 53:10
  Speaker 1: Rachel or Zach.
• 53:12
Speaker 2: Having a long term relationship with you know, John Mayer,
• 53:17
Speaker 2: being married to Russell Brand, you know, being with Orlando Bloom.
• 53:22
Speaker 2: I look at all these guys on paper, and I say,
• 53:25
Speaker 2: what's the connection? You know what I mean? Because it
• 53:27
Speaker 2: all seems so different. And so now he's getting into
• 53:31
Speaker 2: a politician like it's all go girl, Like jan.
• 53:35
Speaker 1: I don't know, this is again, this is just me
• 53:37
Speaker 1: starting trouble. But do you think that part of it
• 53:39
Speaker 1: is could be a rebrand for her?
• 53:41
  Speaker 3: Right?
• 53:42
Speaker 1: She got so much about her, you know, her astronaut
• 53:48
Speaker 1: escapades and maybe, yeah, I don't know, I'm just that
• 53:54
Speaker 1: I'm just making up you guys. I don't know if
• 53:56
Speaker 1: that's I can't imagine that Justin Trudeau would be interested
• 53:59
Speaker 1: in helping someone and rebrand themselves. But yeah, he's certainly
• 54:02
Speaker 1: a more serious guy.
• 54:04
Speaker 2: Listen, what I'm going to say is I think that Katie,
• 54:08
Speaker 2: I would say, probably has an affinity. If you look
• 54:11
Speaker 2: at all these guys on paper, I think the one
• 54:15
Speaker 2: factor that I'm seeing kind of combine across the thing
• 54:18
Speaker 2: is they're all really good engaging talkers. I think she
• 54:22
Speaker 2: likes a guy that is, whether that's gregarious or engaging
• 54:27
Speaker 2: in stimulating conversation, that would be.
• 54:30
  Speaker 1: My guest interesting.
• 54:31
Speaker 2: And I would say that Justin Trudeau probably is able
• 54:34
Speaker 2: to have some very stimulating conversation.
• 54:36
Speaker 1: Yes, I'm a betting girl. I'm betting on Justin to
• 54:39
Speaker 1: be able to carry a conversation exactly. But it's always
• 54:42
  Speaker 1: like that look at j Loo. I mean, I don't
• 54:43
Speaker 1: know how you compare. There have been a lot of them,
• 54:47
Speaker 1: Alex rod Well, actually they're all maybe not her first
• 54:50
Speaker 1: husband was not so famous and successful. I don't remember,
• 54:54
Speaker 1: but certainly from you know, Ben Stiller to Alexdrigez too.
• 55:01
Speaker 2: I'm sorry, sorry, you mean Ben Affleck, not Ben Stiller.
• 55:05
Speaker 1: Not doing this podcast anymore? I quit. No, I do
• 55:08
Speaker 1: not like how you're treating me. I'm sorry, I do
• 55:11
  Speaker 1: not like it.
• 55:11
  Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
• 55:12
Speaker 1: I'm not having it.
• 55:13
Speaker 2: I would have just loved Jen Fessler breaks headline, j
• 55:17
Speaker 2: Loo used to be with Ben Stiller.
• 55:20
Speaker 1: I didn't say Stiller. You did know what I thought
• 55:24
Speaker 1: this had been? Oh god, I said Stiller. Oh no,
• 55:29
Speaker 1: oh my god. I love it.
• 55:31
  Speaker 3: Jen.
• 55:31
  Speaker 2: It's early.
• 55:32
Speaker 1: Listen it. When you need an authority on anything, you
• 55:33
Speaker 1: should come to me. If you want to know about marriage,
• 55:35
Speaker 1: and really ask Jen Fssler. I think Bessler. Is that
• 55:38
  Speaker 1: my last name?
• 55:39
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 55:39
Speaker 1: I think I was born in the eighties, so I
• 55:41
Speaker 1: have a lot of I have a lot of knowledge
• 55:44
  Speaker 1: to impart.
• 55:45
Speaker 2: I love it. Whoa well, I will say whatever this
• 55:49
Speaker 2: little budding romance is connection, whatever it might be, I'm
• 55:53
Speaker 2: into it. Not that they need my stamp of approval.
• 55:56
Speaker 2: But I'm kind of into it. What about you?
• 55:58
Speaker 1: Into it too? Crazy Katie Perry fan, She's cute, talented.
• 56:04
  Speaker 1: I'm not a stan, but I think this is I
• 56:07
Speaker 1: think it's a really interesting recoupling or coupling. Right. Yeah, yeah,
• 56:12
Speaker 1: I'm into it. I agree, follow it.
• 56:14
Speaker 2: I agree, We'll keep We'll keep you guys. Also posted
