  Speaker 1: and go through the listeners' ears and be able to
• 0:16
  Speaker 1: reach their hearts and minds and be able to apply

  Speaker 1: these verses to their lives. In the Lord Jesus Christ's name,

  Speaker 1: I pray. Amen. So we're going to be in Acts

  Speaker 1: rehearse a lot of these. I am a listener as well.

  Speaker 1: I am not putting myself on any pedestal. And that's

  Speaker 1: what I love about being able to do these Bible
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: studies on a daily and record them. And that's the
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: beauty of being able to spread the gospel. And also
• 1:07
  Speaker 1: learning at the same time. So it's titled, The Jewish
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: Leaders Put Peter and John in Prison. Acts chapter 4,
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: verse 1 states, Peter and John were still speaking to
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: the crowd in the yard of the temple. Then some priests,
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: the leaders of the police in the temple, and some
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: Sadducees came to them. They were angry because of the
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: things that Peter and John were teaching the people there.
• 1:36
  Speaker 1: They were teaching that Jesus had become alive again after
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: his death. The Jewish leaders did not agree that dead
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: people could become alive again. Well, here's the thing. Jesus
• 1:48
  Speaker 1: was not no ordinary person being as he was placed
• 2:00
  Speaker 1: in a womb by the Holy Spirit to carry out
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: His purpose. And I know I'm breaking it down really
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: deep because I think somebody listening may need to really
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: hear that in that perspective. And just because somebody hides something,
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: that's the truth. Think about all the stress that The
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: Pharisees and the religious leaders and all of them were
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: because of one man and his ability to do miracles,
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: his ability to teach about kindness, about loving one another,
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: even loving your enemy. We can go even deeper, but
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: let me get into verse 3. So they took hold
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: of Peter and John. They put them in prison because
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: by then it was evening time. They put them in
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: prison until the next day. But many of the people
• 3:03
  Speaker 1: who had heard Peter's message believed what he said. There
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: were now about 5,000 men who believed in Jesus. Think
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: about that magnitude. 5,000 because of Peter and John. And
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: being it so that we are representing Jesus but we
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: have that authority... to not only be able to inspire others,
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: but spiritually teach others. Oh, let me get deeper. The
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: Jewish leaders do not want people to learn about Jesus.
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: I wonder why. The next day, the Jewish rulers and
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: other important Jews met together in Jerusalem. The teachers of
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: God's law met together with them. They met with Annas,
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: who was the most important priest there. John and Alexander
• 3:59
  Speaker 1: were also there. Other men from the family of the
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: important priests were with them too. The Jewish leaders made
• 4:08
  Speaker 1: Peter and John stand in front of them. They began
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: to ask them questions. They said, How did you cause
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: that man's leg To become strong. Who gave you the power.
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: And the authority to do it. See the Holy Spirit
• 4:33
  Speaker 1: was already given. By Jesus to. The disciples at this point.
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: Like full on. Because Jesus was ascending. He was going
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: back to heaven. And he said that he would leave.
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: He didn't say when. the Holy Spirit would come or
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: the gift would come or the, or the guider would come,
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: but he said it would come. And that, I believe
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: that also ties in with our faith. Like the Holy
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: Spirit's not going to come if we're not open and
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: willing to hear what God really has for us through
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit. It's very simple when you really get
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: into it and you get consistent with prayer, meditation, not
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: even so much meditation, but the praise of And it's
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: not like you go just to church and you praise.
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: There are certain different ways of doing it that are
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: a lot lighter than you may think. So let me
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: get into it a little bit more. We're on Acts
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: chapter 4 verse 8. Then Peter became full with the
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. And he said to them, All you men
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: are rulers of people and important Jews. Today you are
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: asking us questions about the good thing that we did
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: for this man. Before that, he could not walk. You
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: are asking us how we caused his legs to become strong.
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: Now I need to tell you and all the people
• 6:00
  Speaker 1: of Israel what is true. Then you will know how
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: this happened. This man is standing here in front of
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: you and he is well. His legs are strong because
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and his authority. You fixed
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: Jesus to a cross so that he died. But after that,
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: God caused him to become alive again. And that same
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: spirit that rose Jesus Christ lives in us. As long
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: as we have that relationship with Jesus. And being a
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: part of the church because Christ loved the church. Because
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: it's glimpses of heaven. It's like what it's really supposed
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: to be like here, heaven on earth. And of course,
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: there's different Ways of going. I mean there's different jobs
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: in heaven. There's different things to do in heaven. So
• 6:49
  Speaker 1: there's different churches. And everybody. Can stick with one. Or
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: they could also. Go to other ones as well. Like
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: I mean people have their own perspective. And their own agenda.
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: And that's the beauty of. Connection though. With people that are. In.
• 7:09
  Speaker 1: The same. Relationship that you are in with Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen. So,
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: let's get into it just a little deeper and we'll
• 7:16
  Speaker 1: close out. How much time we got? Okay, I got
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: a little bit of time. Let's go to Acts chapter 10.

  Speaker 1: Now I need to tell you and all the people
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: of Israel what is true. Then you will know how
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: this happened. This man just standing here in front of you.
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: We've already read that. Sorry. But that's the miracle itself again.
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: The builders refused to use a certain stone. They thought that...
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: that it had no value but now the stone has
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: become more most important stone at the corner of the
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: building then peter said only jesus can save people there
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: has been there has never been another person in the
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: world that could do this god has given him and
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: other men the authority to save us see how it
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: said god has given has has not given any other
• 8:09
  Speaker 1: man the authority to save us So when you're connected
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: with Jesus, you're saving souls. By not even just spreading
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: the gospel, by just showing up. Your presence alone, your face.
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: The way God created you. What God has for you,
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: God has for you. And I say that a lot
• 8:32
  Speaker 1: because where we don't seem to As a country too.
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: In a world that we don't realize that we come
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: from a creator. And we must go back. There will
• 8:46
  Speaker 1: be a time. We're on borrowed time. And it's what
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: we do here on earth. It's what's going to really
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: reflect what we do after. So why not get with.
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: God on his side. And I'm not trying to force
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: you to. To believe in exactly what I believe. But
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: what I want to tell you. Is that this has
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: worked for me. I have tried other things. I have.
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: I can go down the list, but I won't. But
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: let's get deeper into this. Acts chapter 4, right? Verse 14.
• 9:16
  Speaker 1: The man who was now stood in front of the
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: Jewish leaders, they could see that his legs had become
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: strong again. So they could not say anything against Peter
• 9:27
  Speaker 1: and John. Of course, Peter and John were the miracle workers.
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: Jesus gave his certain disciples the authority to do exactly
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: what he did. He even said his own words that
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: we would do greater things than him himself. And that's
• 9:46
  Speaker 1: speaking volumes when raising the dead, giving sight to the blind,
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: feeding multitudes with little amount of food, and just like
• 10:00
  Speaker 1: Being as if. We underestimate. And Passion of the Christ.
• 10:08
  Speaker 1: I highly encourage you to watch that. Highly encourage. So
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: let's go ahead and close out. I want to go
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: ahead and. See where I'm at. I got five minutes
• 10:19
  Speaker 1: and I kind of want to just unwind this. And
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: just Acts so far has been really, really eye opening
• 10:27
  Speaker 1: to me when it's talking about like the prosecution of
• 10:32
  Speaker 1: being a follower of Christ. Now a believer is different.
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: And I honestly believe that the choices that have to
• 10:42
  Speaker 1: be made are sometimes tough because it's not just free will.
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: It's just the uncertainty of what you are really getting
• 10:50
  Speaker 1: yourself into. Take it from me. It took me 20
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: years to follow Christ. So I believed for 20 years.
• 10:58
  Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean that I was following him. I
• 11:02
  Speaker 1: was not on the narrow path. I was just curious.
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: So that's why I'm very patient with people. I don't
• 11:11
  Speaker 1: see if they have the relationship with Jesus. I look
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: at how they treat themselves. How they treat others. And
• 11:18
  Speaker 1: if that conversation starts up, then guess what? We're going
• 11:22
  Speaker 1: to have a good conversation. And it's going to be worthwhile.
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: And that's the kind of conversations I'm looking into. Like
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: my significant other, we talk about everything and anything and
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: nothing at all. In the times that we talk. And
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: I love that about certain people that you connect with
• 11:39
  Speaker 1: in your journey. And I'm just so grateful that I have.
• 11:43
  Speaker 1: this woman to be able to communicate with and we
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: will meet and it's just electric and I'm just so
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: grateful is an understatement but at the same time I
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: have come so far and I know that I deserve
• 12:00
  Speaker 1: this kind of this love and I also I also
• 12:04
  Speaker 1: deserve this redemption from God because even though I did
• 12:08
  Speaker 1: mess up and was running from God, running from what
• 12:13
  Speaker 1: was right, it always caught up to me. And it
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: always caught up to me when I got sober and
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: when I really started to think about things and have
• 12:22
  Speaker 1: that guilty conscience because I have had that if you
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: knew better, you'd do better mentality. But I was doing
• 12:29
  Speaker 1: worse because I didn't know how to process grief. I
• 12:34
  Speaker 1: didn't know how to grow up properly. So where I'm
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: at now today, you know, two years and, you know,
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: it's coming up on two years and a half. No,
• 12:44
  Speaker 1: no alcohol, no drugs and following Christ coming up. I
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: believe it's truly been the last year. So it was
• 12:51
  Speaker 1: recovery helped me get back to where God intended me
• 12:56
  Speaker 1: to be. So I'm on path now and I'm very
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: grateful for the love of my life. And I got
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: two minutes. I'm also thankful for my brother. We stick together.
• 13:07
  Speaker 1: You know, I pray for my mom. You know, actually,
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: we'll get into prayer right now. Lord, Father of the
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: arts in heaven, I come to you in prayer and
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: pray for my mom and her cancer. And I pray
• 13:17
  Speaker 1: that you'd be able to heal and take away that
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: cancer in your name, Jesus. And I also pray for
• 13:23
  Speaker 1: me and Matthew to find stability. I pray for anybody
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: that's on the end of this episode listening in. And

  Speaker 1: really tuned into this prayer, I pray that you'd be
• 13:34
  Speaker 1: able to take away anything that is blocking them from
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: being able to be the best version of themselves, whether
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: it's mentally, physically, spiritually. Any aspect of them, Lord, that
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: you just touch them with your hands, Lord. Let the
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit do its work and be divine intervention, divine protection.
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: I've just seen 111. angel numbers, because I've been on
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: demon time, Lord, you know that you still got me
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: out that, and I'm very appreciative of where you've taken me,
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: and where I continue to be an obedient participant, and
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: as well as reaping the rewards by not only being
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: in a relationship with Jennifer, but also being in a
• 14:10
  Speaker 1: relationship with you, being in a relationship with AA, being
• 14:14
  Speaker 1: in a relationship with my brother, being in a relationship
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: with my mother, and just also being able to be
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: a kind, but not always nice push over, and just
• 14:24
  Speaker 1: having a balance. I'm very grateful. Thank you, Lord Jesus,

  Speaker 1: and I pray for this podcast to go to new lengths.
