- 0:44Speaker 3: we are the Avid Indoorsman. Hello everyone, Hello.
- 0:48Speaker 1: How are you, buddy? I'm doing great, pal, just living
- 0:51Speaker 1: the life out here. Well, summertime fun. How about you?
- 0:54Speaker 3: How are you summertime fun? Indeed, did you do anything
- 0:57Speaker 3: fun this last weekend?
- 0:59Speaker 2: Uh?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, we had to a graduation party for a friend
- 1:02Speaker 1: of the fam, so we went to that. They did
- 1:05Speaker 1: one a little later, which actually I kind of like
- 1:08Speaker 1: it's fun to, you know, be able to go to
- 1:10Speaker 1: a different one. So it was great. Uh So my
- 1:13Speaker 1: family came down and hung out for that, and then
- 1:15Speaker 1: we went to the grad party, like, yeah, it was nice.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I don't know, it's just hung out, ate some food
- 1:24Speaker 1: like you do. Those grad parties are good for that,
- 1:27Speaker 1: they really are. They really are some real good food.
- 1:30Speaker 1: They had lots of candy, which I was a fan
- 1:33Speaker 1: of nice a fan of Yeah. And then I have
- 1:38Speaker 1: a birthday party coming up this weekend, so that'll be though.
- 1:40Speaker 1: You do excited for that. That'll be fun. How about you?
- 1:44Speaker 1: What have you guys been up to?
- 1:45Speaker 3: We went back up to the cabin again this last weekend,
- 1:49Speaker 3: a lot of fun, caught a lot of fish, which
- 1:54Speaker 3: was really fun.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Vern went sorry it was smoky. Sorry, my mom was
- 1:59Speaker 1: just like it was terrible up here, and it was
- 2:01Speaker 1: not great down here either.
- 2:02Speaker 3: But the day that it rained, it was kind of
- 2:05Speaker 3: like that day it rained in the cities where you
- 2:07Speaker 3: would think that it would like dissipate, but all did
- 2:11Speaker 3: was just push all of that smoke down further. And
- 2:15Speaker 3: that was really intense. That was on the first day.
- 2:19Speaker 3: That was on Friday, and then Saturday was a little
- 2:23Speaker 3: bit better, and that was when we caught some fish.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Dude. We caught like that's.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Fifteen or sixteen fish between three of us, and they
- 2:31Speaker 3: were like all good size, and I just it was
- 2:34Speaker 3: so much fun. It's my first three casts. Boom boom boom.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I was like, you guys, I don't know what's going on.
- 2:40Speaker 1: We either have the fish forever or never stop.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I don't know what it is. But we had so
- 2:46Speaker 3: much fun and Vern went and caught a six pounder.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It was insane. That's great. So we still like doing
- 2:52Speaker 1: that too. They do that was.
- 2:55Speaker 3: There were some other adults that were up so it
- 2:57Speaker 3: was just me and Yeah, but yeah. They just kind
- 3:01Speaker 3: of did some dog fishing and stuff this time, and
- 3:04Speaker 3: we got to do some swimming.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And there's other exciting things happening. I get it, you know, dude.
- 3:09Speaker 3: So it was a great weekend. I'm not going to
- 3:11Speaker 3: be able to go up there for a while, so
- 3:13Speaker 3: we we.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Lived it up. I love it. Though you guys have
- 3:15Speaker 1: been there, you've been making the most of the time available,
- 3:18Speaker 1: which for sure. Yep, that's fun and I.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Was really excited. I got my shirt today. This is
- 3:25Speaker 3: the Traverse City pit Spitters.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Nice.
- 3:29Speaker 3: They are super into cherries and Traverse City. We went
- 3:32Speaker 3: to the Cherry Festival out there and that is their
- 3:35Speaker 3: that's their minor league baseball team.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I figured as much. That's amazing. I love those minor
- 3:40Speaker 1: league teams. Just killing it. I love them. I love
- 3:43Speaker 1: the logos, I love the names. I am a fan.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I had cherries tonight, unrelated, but they were just tasty.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Was it a jubilee? Great question? Next question? I don't know. Sure, sure,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I don't feel like was it an official party? I
- 4:02Speaker 1: don't know. I feel like I heard Cherrie's jubilee is
- 4:05Speaker 1: like a dessert. What does that mean? I don't know.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It was just the cherry by itself, just pits out
- 4:14Speaker 1: of a bag, hunched over a sink. That's I eat him. Yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 1: I get it. That one. It's with ice cream. I'm
- 4:23Speaker 1: gonna look this up. But while I do that, will
- 4:25Speaker 1: you look up or no? Tell me? Sorry? Okay, what
- 4:28Speaker 1: movie have you seen recently? You know?
- 4:31Speaker 3: I watched a movie outline go I did, pretty entertaining
- 4:36Speaker 3: movie with the worst title ever.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Uh and it was called plane plane. Holl's that This
- 4:46Speaker 1: was Gerard Butler is the main guy in this. He's
- 4:50Speaker 1: a pilot.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a pilot that has to crash land a
- 4:54Speaker 3: commercial airliner on an island that's been taken over by militia.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, no government there. And Luke Cage guy that's also
- 5:06Speaker 1: that his name.
- 5:08Speaker 3: His name is Mike Colter, and he was most popular
- 5:11Speaker 3: for playing Luke Cage. Honestly, it's the first thing I've
- 5:14Speaker 3: seen since then him playing that.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and he was pretty badass in this. So the
- 5:19Speaker 1: movie was fun though, because I actually think the title
- 5:22Speaker 1: is what partly maybe not watch it because I was
- 5:25Speaker 1: just like, we could nothing nothing, I couldn't think of
- 5:28Speaker 1: anything plane.
- 5:32Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean I thought it was very entertaining.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It's stressful.
- 5:35Speaker 3: It's a lot of action, solid action movie. That's it's
- 5:39Speaker 3: It's on the Apple TV Plus. It might have been
- 5:41Speaker 3: a straight to stream. Maybe it was a commercial release.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I'm not sure release, but I certainly didn't see it
- 5:51Speaker 3: in the theater.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I watched it on Apple TV Plus and I was delighted.
- 5:56Speaker 1: That's fun. I like it nice. I like Gerard Butler.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I feel like he too guff but I always think
- 6:01Speaker 1: he's fun.
- 6:02Speaker 3: He is fun in this and yeah, he's it's fun
- 6:04Speaker 3: because like he's a pilot and he can like he's
- 6:09Speaker 3: not like he doesn't have an army ranger background or
- 6:11Speaker 3: something what I mean, wow, Like he's just kind of
- 6:14Speaker 3: a regular guy.
- 6:15Speaker 1: To stretch for him. Okay, Yeah, Okay, so it was
- 6:18Speaker 1: kind of fun, fun nice. What about You was the
- 6:21Speaker 1: last movie you watched. I went to the theater and
- 6:25Speaker 1: we watched Megan two point zero.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Rob, you watched the first one. You went to the
- 6:30Speaker 3: theater for the first one.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Dave loves these dumb horror movies. So I've
- 6:35Speaker 1: been going to a lot and they are fun some
- 6:38Speaker 1: of the time some of the part of the time.
- 6:41Speaker 1: This one is not like super scary. Even the first
- 6:45Speaker 1: one wasn't super scary. It's basically Chucky, you know, like
- 6:48Speaker 1: it's that kind of vibe. But I never watched Chucky,
- 6:50Speaker 1: so I guess it's just a doll. So I've never
- 6:54Speaker 1: seen Chucky, so I can't really say that, but I'm
- 6:57Speaker 1: guessing it similar.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I think Chucky is more of like a demon, where
- 7:01Speaker 3: this is like, this is like a robot.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, this is an AI situation, so you're probably
- 7:06Speaker 1: right about that. I shouldn't have said that having never
- 7:09Speaker 1: seen a second of Truck. It's a toy, That's all
- 7:13Speaker 1: I got for you, right, But the first one was
- 7:17Speaker 1: definitely more of a horror film. This one, they really have.
- 7:20Speaker 1: They transitioned straight to an action movie almost in this one.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Which was actually kind of fun. So it's like it
- 7:29Speaker 1: is the the joyous kind of like dumb, you know,
- 7:32Speaker 1: just like our calling card says for both of us,
- 7:35Speaker 1: it is a joyful dumbness that you will like. It's
- 7:38Speaker 1: very silly. It's got Alison Williams is the star of these.
- 7:43Speaker 1: She was in the first one too, right, yeah, yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and she's like the inventor, so that's kind of fun
- 7:47Speaker 1: to see her in this, you know, hanging out. And
- 7:50Speaker 1: Jamaine Clement is in this one, which was just really
- 7:53Speaker 1: fun because he's so silly and fun and that really
- 7:56Speaker 1: comes through. But yeah, this movie it's dumb, but in
- 8:01Speaker 1: a great way. So like if you're looking for I
- 8:04Speaker 1: think it's still in the theater. Even so if you're
- 8:06Speaker 1: looking for like an ac theater experience, you know, sometimes
- 8:10Speaker 1: you're just like, I don't want to be outside anymore,
- 8:13Speaker 1: feeling or you see catch it on a streamer later.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I thought it was pretty fun, and I also spoiler alert,
- 8:20Speaker 1: presume there will be more of these now because that
- 8:24Speaker 1: seemed like what we were setting up. So uh, silly,
- 8:28Speaker 1: good time. Megan two point zero and the E is
- 8:31Speaker 1: a three in the name. If you're trying to look
- 8:33Speaker 1: it up. So it's sure, m three Gamesagan.
- 8:39Speaker 3: The three So isn't the thing that she's more like
- 8:41Speaker 3: a teenager now instead of like a kid?
- 8:46Speaker 1: She gets rebuilt? Right?
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yea, So I remember seeing a trailer was like, oh, yeah, she's.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Like an adolescent now, I guess right, roughly growing up
- 8:56Speaker 1: at the same age as the little girl that she
- 8:58Speaker 1: befriends in the first one. Sure, well the friends slash
- 9:02Speaker 1: terrorizes you draw the line. I don't know where it is. Yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: but yeah, I thought that was pretty fun. I definitely
- 9:10Speaker 1: cackled at various points, like it is a it is stupid,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but in a very fun way. I thought. So, yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 1: I've you been streaming anything?
- 9:19Speaker 3: Yes, not as exciting because you had just talked about this,
- 9:23Speaker 3: but it is one of the last things I streamed
- 9:25Speaker 3: as well, and it was that movie Deep Cover.
- 9:28Speaker 1: With Orlando Bloom and Nick Time.
- 9:34Speaker 3: I loved it. I loved it way more than I
- 9:38Speaker 3: was expecting to. I was kind of it was before
- 9:41Speaker 3: we were about to go out for like a week
- 9:45Speaker 3: of shows, and I was like, I need some stuff,
- 9:48Speaker 3: you know, totally to watch. So I downloaded some stuff.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I looked at Rotten Tomatoes. I was like, what this
- 9:53Speaker 3: is getting like an eighty five percent.
- 9:55Speaker 1: This like I don't know, my glowing recommendation.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Well, this was this was before before even it was
- 10:02Speaker 3: even before. Yeah, because I was able to tell you
- 10:04Speaker 3: a little bit because I had seen it as well.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Well that's right, Yeah, that's right.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I'm sorry, sorry, but I just couldn't believe how well
- 10:11Speaker 3: received it was. And it was like a straight to prime.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I was like, okay, I'll try it.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So much fun all that to say.
- 10:18Speaker 3: It came in under the radar. I really loved it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I tend to love those movies. And yeah, they just
- 10:25Speaker 3: take improv actors put them in an undercover operation to
- 10:29Speaker 3: try and take down some criminals. And that's a really
- 10:31Speaker 3: fun recipe for some good times.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And kind of a setup that I'd never heard of before.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Was fun. Yeah, it was. It was a similar setup
- 10:42Speaker 1: that we've maybe seen kind of but yeah, yeah, that exactly.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I don't know. I just thought was fun, but it was.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It was. It was more fun than it needed to
- 10:49Speaker 1: be together.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Orlando Bloom, It's one of my favorite things he's ever done,
- 10:54Speaker 3: aside from his big franchises. It's for sure my favorite
- 10:57Speaker 3: things he has done outside of those. Yeah, for sure
- 11:01Speaker 3: thought it was a lot of fun, and it's it's
- 11:03Speaker 3: on Prime, you can stream it.
- 11:04Speaker 1: It's a good time. Check it out. It's fun, fun
- 11:06Speaker 1: time and short. What about it was?
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it was It was reasonable for sure. What was
- 11:12Speaker 3: the last thing you streamed?
- 11:14Speaker 1: So I watched on hmm Netflix? It was it looks
- 11:18Speaker 1: like becoming led Zeppelin. The little dot that they have
- 11:24Speaker 1: going on there really fun. I didn't know a ton
- 11:28Speaker 1: about led Zeppelin. I liked some of their tunes, but
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm not like a huge crazy fan. You weren't getting
- 11:34Speaker 1: the lead out? Well I was, but well I always
- 11:37Speaker 1: go slow. But yes, no, I really wasn't a zephead.
- 11:44Speaker 1: But it was really fun to just see how this
- 11:47Speaker 1: group formed, all the ways that they were influenced by
- 11:51Speaker 1: other bands, and then just always as we know, you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I was only in the music scene for you know,
- 11:57Speaker 1: a much smaller level honestly than led Zepp, but just
- 12:01Speaker 1: the different iterations people go through with these bands and
- 12:04Speaker 1: groups in general, and you know, the crazy winding roads
- 12:08Speaker 1: they take. But this was super, super fun. It had
- 12:10Speaker 1: a ton of footage of them at various ages, which
- 12:14Speaker 1: was really cool. It had a ton of footage of
- 12:17Speaker 1: them like I don't know. It's different than the Beatles one.
- 12:20Speaker 1: That one was really like almost like a reality show
- 12:23Speaker 1: where you got to see the behind the scenes. This
- 12:25Speaker 1: was a little bit more like concerty and stuff like that.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I still didn't finish that. I don't know what my problems.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Oh really funny, Yes, well dude, I get it though.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Like I never watched the Basketball one, the Jordan doc
- 12:42Speaker 1: for some of the last dance. It's so dumb. I
- 12:45Speaker 1: love basketball and you would love it. And it was
- 12:48Speaker 1: during COVID and I just never watched it and still
- 12:51Speaker 1: have not gone back to it. So I get it.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Something that's just worth going back and see. You would
- 12:58Speaker 3: love it so much.
- 12:59Speaker 1: All the time, I'm like, actually, I really wish I
- 13:01Speaker 1: had something to watch, and I just refused to watch it. Yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I don't even know where that one is. I have
- 13:06Speaker 1: no idea. I don't know either, have to google it.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But anyway, uh, LED's epp one, super super fun. Uh.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I recommend it if you like their music at all,
- 13:16Speaker 1: or if you just like the if you like those
- 13:17Speaker 1: kind of music documentaries, I think you'll really enjoy it.
- 13:21Speaker 1: It was super fun. They seem like really cool guys.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And then you know, they have some Lord of the
- 13:27Speaker 1: Ring songs, so obviously I like those, but I love
- 13:30Speaker 1: a bunch of their tunes, you know. I feel like
- 13:32Speaker 1: it's course almost impossible not to like at least some
- 13:35Speaker 1: of them. But of course, but it was really fun.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I liked it. It was cool. Cool, But wait, you
- 13:41Speaker 1: already did streaming? Yes, great as always over on the
- 13:48Speaker 1: Twitter machine where we're at ab an endorsement with a Z.

- 13:57Speaker 1: blue Sky threats everywhere else. At have an endorsement there
- 14:01Speaker 1: as well. But if you're alwer to hang out be
- 14:03Speaker 1: part of the crew. Spot to go.

- 14:47Speaker 1: I didn't find it if well, we definitely have done
- 14:49Speaker 1: Best Villains of the MCU, right, but this.

- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let me.
- 15:08Speaker 3: This is This was so much fun, such a great cabory,
- 15:12Speaker 3: like forty five of them. Of course three hundred and
- 15:16Speaker 3: fifty episodes later. Uh, this is one we definitely need
- 15:20Speaker 3: to be doing. And if I'm really honest, I don't
- 15:22Speaker 3: have that many because there's just so many, so.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Many right that it's that is just so good.
- 15:29Speaker 3: So it's going to be a good draft. So you're

- 15:51Speaker 1: We did it. We're here to talk a little Superman gang.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I think it's just called Superman, right, I guess I
- 15:58Speaker 1: should it is, but I thought that's what it is,
- 16:01Speaker 1: and we had to get he's for sure one of
- 16:05Speaker 1: the top five Superman officionados. We know he loves the Superman. Yes,
- 16:10Speaker 1: love Superman, and we love him a ton. So give
- 16:13Speaker 1: it up for our Superman himself.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Benny Ellen, what's up, Benny?
- 16:19Speaker 4: What is up? My dear sweet lovers? Hi, so good.
- 16:26Speaker 1: We send you so much lately, and it's been wonderful.
- 16:29Speaker 4: It's the best man, I tell you what, it's been

- 16:35Speaker 1: The plague is all on this side table right over here. Agreed, celebrate,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I celebrate your guys' entire catalog. Yes, yeah, oh yeah yeah.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It's great to be back in Burbank.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Read to be back in Burbank, Johnny, I tell you about.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I am darned excited to be back for this.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Oh dude, yeah. I mean as soon as we saw
- 17:03Speaker 3: it that it was coming out, I was like, well,
- 17:04Speaker 3: I know who we have to have.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I mean, we wouldn't have been friends anymore if you hadn't,
- 17:09Speaker 4: So it's good.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Then you said them, Yep.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Also, it's weird for me because I've I've only ever
- 17:16Speaker 4: done movies with you guys that I've seen like thirty times, right, right,
- 17:21Speaker 4: it's certainly not one that I've only seen once and
- 17:24Speaker 4: nineteen hours ago.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Right, Yes, so it is.
- 17:29Speaker 4: It's it's kind of it's I think it's gonna be
- 17:30Speaker 4: good to discuss it just for my own Yeah, you know,
- 17:35Speaker 4: because I've been just sort of processing all day, to
- 17:37Speaker 4: be honest.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Same, you've had more hours than I. This is the
- 17:42Speaker 3: first time I've ever gone to the theater and then
- 17:45Speaker 3: had to do the outline of the day to day.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yes, it is the only time you go. Yeah, it's crazy,
- 17:54Speaker 1: he went, Yes, if I for the listeners, I am
- 17:58Speaker 1: on the road working right now, and I'm I've been
- 18:00Speaker 1: traveling from New York to Miami, and if I had
- 18:03Speaker 1: had more time, I would have seen it again today.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I would watched it again this morning. You know. We
- 18:10Speaker 1: we did the opening night and then yesterday I was like,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I should really just see it again because it'll be
- 18:16Speaker 1: it's so hard to like you guess said, I mean, look,
- 18:20Speaker 1: this is what we're going to talk about but I.
- 18:22Speaker 4: I had I was trying to temper my expectations, and
- 18:28Speaker 4: you know, I didn't want to. I didn't want to
- 18:29Speaker 4: be too analytical. I just wanted to enjoy it obviously
- 18:32Speaker 4: the first time, so I was like, I'm not gonna
- 18:33Speaker 4: I'm not gonna like sit here and take notes. I
- 18:36Speaker 4: just wanted to take it in. And I'm just like,
- 18:38Speaker 4: as we'll talk about, there's a lot to take in.
- 18:42Speaker 4: So I'm like i've been.
- 18:44Speaker 1: It's yeah, and these, for whatever reason, these movies, I
- 18:49Speaker 1: I feel like I'm almost the opposite where like the
- 18:51Speaker 1: first one, I'm like, oh, so what are they going
- 18:53Speaker 1: to do? Oh? What's going to like? You know, what
- 18:55Speaker 1: is the theme going to be for this? And it's
- 18:57Speaker 1: always the second time, I'm like, oh, I just get
- 18:59Speaker 1: to like hang and enjoy it and let it wash over.
- 19:03Speaker 4: I don't know, I think that's that's fair. I mean,
- 19:06Speaker 4: I think that's exactly how it would be. I guess,
- 19:09Speaker 4: I guess I agree. I think I just the second time,
- 19:13Speaker 4: like when I do when I do musicals, and my
- 19:17Speaker 4: mom always loves she always talks about how she loves
- 19:20Speaker 4: to come. She's like when I when I see it
- 19:23Speaker 4: the second or third time is when I really it
- 19:25Speaker 4: like sinks in.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and again we'll talk about it.
- 19:31Speaker 4: But there's so much happening in this movie that I'm
- 19:34Speaker 4: just it's hard for me to even process today.
- 19:37Speaker 1: There are a lot of stuff, lots of stuff going on.
- 19:39Speaker 1: So it will be super super super Man. Uh. What
- 19:46Speaker 1: also will be super is both playing at the paper
- 19:49Speaker 1: Mill Playhouse. Are boys going to be boy? It's going
- 19:55Speaker 1: to be a big time that's exciting, big time classic classic,
- 20:02Speaker 1: big cat that is October November, if anyone's playing it
- 20:08Speaker 1: Jersey that is. It is a nice little show. I
- 20:11Speaker 1: will say. The music's very catchy, very good. Ron Shelton,
- 20:17Speaker 1: who wrote and directed the film, also wrote.
- 20:20Speaker 4: The uh script, So it's good.
- 20:24Speaker 1: It's good.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I don't do a lot in it, to be honest,
- 20:28Speaker 4: but I have like a fun little feature scene.
- 20:31Speaker 3: But you just come in, you crush, and then exactly
- 20:35Speaker 3: exactly right.
- 20:36Speaker 1: If it was to me, I would even bow. I
- 20:38Speaker 1: would just go home afterwards. But hell yeah, but they
- 20:43Speaker 1: make me and as you guys know, I do need
- 20:45Speaker 1: that applause. So I heard that if I could get
- 20:50Speaker 1: the applause without doing anything, man, I asked Stephanie.
- 20:53Speaker 4: To applaud all the time, and I don't get nothing. Yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 4: especially especially not after intimacy.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Oh well, sometimes they applaud when I'm done. Come on, don't.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Say that, Oh you're a gentle lover.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Golf clap. They actually they're like, I was actually applauding
- 21:20Speaker 1: you starting, and it just happened to sound like it
- 21:22Speaker 1: was continuing. She's like, she's like.
- 21:24Speaker 4: That was only a minute and a half. Why am
- 21:26Speaker 4: I so sweet? Am I so sweaty?
- 21:29Speaker 1: And I'm like, that's me Sorry, I'll give you a
- 21:33Speaker 1: two hundred and eighty five reasons why. It's like someone
- 21:38Speaker 1: it's like someone dipped a bear rug in salt water
- 21:41Speaker 1: and threw it over me and then slapped me in
- 21:43Speaker 1: the face. I wish I would have either gobblewer on
- 21:48Speaker 1: the way or higher, because now I feel like that
- 21:51Speaker 1: I was just being honest, but I don't want to
- 21:53Speaker 1: know that. No good seven hundred pounds. Oh you guys. Anyway,
- 22:00Speaker 1: that's gonna be a silly good time. Go check it
- 22:02Speaker 1: out paper Mill play House. Do it. I'm gonna try
- 22:06Speaker 1: and get out there. He and p fall trip hopefully
- 22:09Speaker 1: planned for out there. Anyway, Let's do what enjoy it.
- 22:11Speaker 1: The music is really good. It's it's nice. Oh yeah, dude.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm due for a trip out there too. It's
- 22:17Speaker 3: been a long time.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Let's uh, let's talk. Although you're gonna be so busy,
- 22:21Speaker 1: so busy, so busy. I have just nothing going on.
- 22:24Speaker 1: It's great. But we're here today to talk a little
- 22:27Speaker 1: Superman action. Yeahman, uh, and I think we should get
- 22:32Speaker 1: right into it, Robb, you want to hit us with
- 22:33Speaker 1: a rough SYNAPSI shum up. Okay.
- 22:37Speaker 3: When Superman gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad,
- 22:41Speaker 3: his actions are questioned, giving tech billionaire Alex Luthor the
- 22:47Speaker 3: opportunity to get the Man of Steel out of the
- 22:49Speaker 3: way for good will. Intrepid reporter Lois Lane and Superman's
- 22:54Speaker 3: four legged companion Crypto be able to help him before
- 22:59Speaker 3: it's due to.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Really nice, really great, great, right, thanks, it's going to
- 23:07Speaker 1: rotten to models in Newark, they have to say, critics
- 23:09Speaker 1: have it coming in at eighty eight three. Now, nice,
- 23:14Speaker 1: nice critics. Eighty three That was still a little bit
- 23:17Speaker 1: lower than I thought. Yeah, so I don't know what
- 23:21Speaker 1: you have, rob. I had audiences at ninety three. That yep, yep, okay, cool, Yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 1: that's pretty happens like thats like we would.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Have guessed, like a mid eighties critic for this, I think,
- 23:35Speaker 4: I mean just going off of how I feel like
- 23:38Speaker 4: reacts to things.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, which is of course very.
- 23:43Speaker 3: They're all over the place on the on the superhero movies.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and given some of the subject matter, will surprised
- 23:52Speaker 1: me if it was like, you know, submarines by various people,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you know, yeah, that would make sense.
- 23:58Speaker 4: I guess I would like to see they have a
- 24:00Speaker 4: way to know when that's happening now.
- 24:03Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, I just kinda like the.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Algorithm should be able to sort out like a one
- 24:10Speaker 4: or you know, I mean that's not real like for
- 24:14Speaker 4: any movie really.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I mean I've seen someones.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Well but that's really low. That's like, that's crazy. But anyway,
- 24:23Speaker 4: keep going please.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, well, let's hear what we think.
- 24:28Speaker 1: It's time for our take. That's a hot take. That's
- 24:33Speaker 1: a hot take. Laser beams out of the eyeball, he
- 24:40Speaker 1: has those, I can go. First. I was a little
- 24:47Speaker 1: nervous about this movie or just excited. I didn't know
- 24:50Speaker 1: what to it. Like with you, the inaugural of this
- 24:54Speaker 1: new DCU, you know, under the helm of James Gunn.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I really thought this was super super fun overall. More
- 25:02Speaker 1: than anything, I thought it brought back that comic y
- 25:05Speaker 1: style of just kind of like flashy colors like he's
- 25:10Speaker 1: done before. James Gunn is so good at making me
- 25:15Speaker 1: like protective of superheroes, and I really think that is
- 25:19Speaker 1: like his best quality when it comes to these movies,
- 25:22Speaker 1: whether it's you know, a tree that is all but
- 25:25Speaker 1: immortal and I care about it even though it only
- 25:28Speaker 1: says one word, or you know, anthropomorphized raccoon, you know,
- 25:33Speaker 1: or like Peter Quill or whatever, right, Like, that is
- 25:37Speaker 1: something he's so good at, and he does it with
- 25:39Speaker 1: Superman in this movie, which I love a lot. I
- 25:42Speaker 1: think it's I do think there is arguably too much
- 25:46Speaker 1: going on in it at some points it can get
- 25:49Speaker 1: like a little clunky, but that vibe of just like
- 25:52Speaker 1: fun and Superman wanting to do good is like omnipresent
- 25:57Speaker 1: throughout it, and to me, that's the most important part.
- 26:00Speaker 1: So I just loved that a ton. I thought he
- 26:04Speaker 1: did great with like the homages to the former Superman,
- 26:09Speaker 1: you know, stuff that was going on, and you can
- 26:11Speaker 1: tell that he just loves this world. And you know,
- 26:14Speaker 1: these nerdy comic book stuff. I think he's great at that.
- 26:18Speaker 1: He brings so much levity into every one of his films,
- 26:22Speaker 1: and he has yet to like cross that line, you know,
- 26:25Speaker 1: like the Love and thunder line that some people didn't
- 26:28Speaker 1: like that because it got just like a little too goofy.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I don't think he's there yet, and I think it's
- 26:32Speaker 1: just really fun. Overall. I really liked this a lot.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I loved you know, Superman as a character is always
- 26:38Speaker 1: I've always really enjoyed him because of the topics that
- 26:41Speaker 1: come up, being that he is an alien and you know,
- 26:45Speaker 1: inherently an outsider not only in New York or Metropolis,
- 26:49Speaker 1: but also to you know, the world itself. Super interesting
- 26:54Speaker 1: that all these plot points which have been in Superman
- 26:57Speaker 1: forever are very omnipresent today, you know, like it really
- 27:01Speaker 1: felt like he was trying to say some things politically
- 27:04Speaker 1: in this, but also that's just what Superman comes into
- 27:08Speaker 1: and covers a lot, and you know, these things keep
- 27:11Speaker 1: happening over and over. Uh. Yeah, overall, I just think
- 27:14Speaker 1: this movie is super, super fun. I think the music
- 27:18Speaker 1: is great, although I really wanted them to hit us
- 27:22Speaker 1: with the full Superman brass like at the end kept
- 27:27Speaker 1: being like you keep. They had it innerspirst a Ton
- 27:30Speaker 1: which I actually did a lot theme, but I wanted it.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I wanted like the blaring, you know, like horns. You
- 27:38Speaker 1: just it was weird. They and that, which I loved.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But then I wish to your point, I wish they
- 27:45Speaker 1: would have either really given it to us or come
- 27:48Speaker 1: up with another theme that was for this movie with it. Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 1: we can have a whole muse.
- 27:56Speaker 4: I mean I would like to have a whole music
- 27:58Speaker 4: conversation honestly, like they did it in super They did
- 28:01Speaker 4: it in Superman Returns perfectly.
- 28:03Speaker 1: They incorporated the.
- 28:04Speaker 4: John Williams, but then they added the Duomdoom Doom Doom
- 28:09Speaker 4: Doom Doom, and.
- 28:11Speaker 1: He was like, they did the John Williams, but they.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Had their The movie also had its own theme. I
- 28:17Speaker 4: wish they would have done that. I'm with you.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I either get either really give.
- 28:21Speaker 3: It to us or it was something new and they
- 28:24Speaker 3: didn't give us John Williams at all. In The zach Snight,
- 28:27Speaker 3: but that that also is literally my favorite part of
- 28:30Speaker 3: that movie is the original score they came up with the.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I just like love it so much. It is funny
- 28:41Speaker 1: though for a James Gun movie, there wasn't as many
- 28:44Speaker 1: of like the needle drop moments that he's so good at.
- 28:47Speaker 1: They really went more score you have To, which I
- 28:50Speaker 1: didn't hate. I just yeah, I just was like, oh, okay,
- 28:54Speaker 1: well he had to you know, he's going for a sink, and.
- 28:58Speaker 3: The stuff that they did use was at my favorite.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I'm not a big great punk rock guy.
- 29:02Speaker 4: So yeah, that was an interesting choice. But yeah, but
- 29:09Speaker 4: I but you know, in Guardians, the soundtrack was such
- 29:12Speaker 4: a part of Peter Quill's it was it was it
- 29:16Speaker 4: was identity, right, Yeah, a lot of sense because it was,
- 29:22Speaker 4: you know, his mom's mixtape, so I kind of figured
- 29:26Speaker 4: he wasn't going to do that just well.
- 29:28Speaker 1: So but overall, I just think it's super duper fun
- 29:32Speaker 1: I really loved it, and we'll talk more about a
- 29:35Speaker 1: lot of things, but I just want to say my
- 29:38Speaker 1: hot take, I think is just classic white guy billionaire
- 29:42Speaker 1: feeling like he's being persecuted by the world, just like
- 29:46Speaker 1: Lex Luthor. It's just like it's just so hard. Everything
- 29:50Speaker 1: is so hard and sad for me. It's just like
- 29:53Speaker 1: a mod Lex. But I thought he was pretty great
- 29:56Speaker 1: as a villain. He was, yeah, I.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Think that's my that's a hot take, bro. Yeah, I
- 30:04Speaker 3: just saw this just a few hours ago. Yes, we know.
- 30:11Speaker 3: It's written and directed by James Gunn. He's taken over
- 30:13Speaker 3: the DC universe. He of course made the Guardians movies,
- 30:16Speaker 3: like you said, and then there was the firing before
- 30:20Speaker 3: the third one scandal. Then everyone rallied it, rallied behind him,
- 30:25Speaker 3: got him rehired in the interim, DC chatted him up
- 30:28Speaker 3: and got him to make the Suicide Squad movie, and
- 30:31Speaker 3: then that led him to becoming the head of DC
- 30:33Speaker 3: and redoing Superman. So worked out pretty well for him.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I think he really pivoted nicely there. But yeah, dude,
- 30:44Speaker 3: I thought the actors he chose were great. He really
- 30:47Speaker 3: did a great job. And at first I was like, well,
- 30:49Speaker 3: you gotta do Cavil this way, but you know, he's
- 30:53Speaker 3: redoing this whole thing. He needs a new Superman. He
- 30:56Speaker 3: got a great one. This guy seems to be pretty great.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Clark Kent and Superman and I have such a hard
- 31:05Speaker 3: time not picturing missus masl as lois but Rachel Browsnan
- 31:10Speaker 3: is great.
- 31:11Speaker 1: But man, that I thought she was wonderful. She's great now.
- 31:15Speaker 3: But I loved Missus Masel so much. It's just it's
- 31:19Speaker 3: taking me a lot to get.
- 31:21Speaker 1: That out of my brain. I saw her.
- 31:23Speaker 4: I saw her on Broadway in a play called The
- 31:26Speaker 4: Sign in Sydney Brucene's Window, and I was like, this
- 31:30Speaker 4: is gonna be weird to see her do something else,
- 31:32Speaker 4: Like is she just gonna be Missus Mazel? And she
- 31:35Speaker 4: was a completely different character and I was kind of
- 31:40Speaker 4: blown away.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I was like wow, and that was and it.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Was literally, I think the week before they announced her
- 31:47Speaker 4: as Lois Nice and I and I remember when they
- 31:52Speaker 4: said that she was like in the running and I
- 31:54Speaker 4: was like, oh, she could be good at this. And
- 31:57Speaker 4: then I saw her in that play and I was like, oh, man,
- 31:59Speaker 4: she could really be good at this. Yeah, I feel
- 32:02Speaker 4: like she was. I feel like she was like right
- 32:04Speaker 4: on the money.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Yeah, agreed, And yeah, I thought Nicholas Holt was amazing
- 32:11Speaker 3: as well.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Like you said, so, really is sweat corn sweat corn?
- 32:17Speaker 1: Sweat took? That guy's good?
- 32:18Speaker 3: I like, wonderful, wonderful yea really Yeah. I was impressed
- 32:23Speaker 3: with all the casting choices. I appreciated that we didn't
- 32:26Speaker 3: get a full origin story. Every one knows the origin story,
- 32:31Speaker 3: and we pick up a few months into Lois uh
- 32:35Speaker 3: And and Clark dating, so we don't deal with any
- 32:38Speaker 3: of the moments of her like figuring out who he is,
- 32:42Speaker 3: because we've we've read with all that before, which I
- 32:46Speaker 3: liked a lot. Now maybe people you know, coming in,
- 32:49Speaker 3: wish they had could start at square one, but I
- 32:52Speaker 3: personally really enjoyed it.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It's kind of like Spider Man. They did.
- 32:55Speaker 4: This lasted very much like my homecoming Civil War, the Homecoming. Yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 4: you know, we we know what happens. I mean, everyone
- 33:05Speaker 4: knows it.
- 33:07Speaker 1: They set the stage and we're like three centuries ago,
- 33:11Speaker 1: you know, like meny humans were here. So it's like
- 33:14Speaker 1: not weird that Superman exists. It's really just about interacting,
- 33:18Speaker 1: you know more, And I just loved all that kind
- 33:20Speaker 1: of it's not handwavy, but it's also like, let's just
- 33:24Speaker 1: set the expectation. This is superheroes are here, They're doing
- 33:27Speaker 1: their thing. Don't worry about it, you know, Like I
- 33:30Speaker 1: love that. I didn't know how I was going to
- 33:31Speaker 1: feel when that first text came up. I was like, Oh,
- 33:34Speaker 1: what are we doing here? You know?
- 33:35Speaker 4: I didn't Yeah, I was like I don't want well,
- 33:39Speaker 4: I just mean, I didn't want a full like Star
- 33:41Speaker 4: Wars scroll sure either, but then when they did the
- 33:46Speaker 4: three three, the threes, it was kind of like the
- 33:49Speaker 4: kind of like the Dunkirk move.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You know, the.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Dunkirk they do the ten whatever one day, ten hours
- 33:58Speaker 4: or I forget it, but they do the same thing
- 34:00Speaker 4: with increments.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Of time the D day stats. Yeah, yeah, that's cool.
- 34:05Speaker 1: But yeah, I did like it. I have some thoughts
- 34:07Speaker 1: on the on the beginning, sorry I interrupted you, Oh no,
- 34:10Speaker 1: you're good.
- 34:11Speaker 3: And yeah, I also like that he's like not the
- 34:14Speaker 3: only superhero and they're not just like who is this,
- 34:16Speaker 3: Like they're in a world where they exist, and I
- 34:21Speaker 3: feel like it was different from some other takes on Superman.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I just enjoyed it.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I also really enjoyed the run time. Two hours, nine minutes.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Pretty good, pretty pretty solid. We didn't need this to
- 34:30Speaker 3: be a three hour movie. It worked out well. My
- 34:35Speaker 3: hot take, the funniest part of the whole movie, James
- 34:41Speaker 3: Gunn pretty much completely stole from The Avengers, and it's
- 34:46Speaker 3: when Lex Luthor is about to start monologuing to Superman. Yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 3: and then Crypto comes in and beats the hell out
- 34:52Speaker 3: of him. It reminded me very much of the lokey
- 34:57Speaker 3: screaming Hulk. Yes, and then the Hull just beating the
- 35:00Speaker 3: hell out of them.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great. I thought the same.
- 35:04Speaker 3: It was like the exact same beat, but it worked
- 35:08Speaker 3: really well and it did make me laugh. So it's like,
- 35:11Speaker 3: I don't know if I can get mad at it,
- 35:13Speaker 3: but I can point out that I think he kind
- 35:15Speaker 3: of stole that.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah, think of it more of an homage than stealing.
- 35:20Speaker 1: But yes, I agree, and I'm I'm sure he would
- 35:25Speaker 1: admit to that, honestly, Like, yeah, probably, but hat take,
- 35:29Speaker 1: hot take? What do you got, Benny? What's your hat take?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Oh?
- 35:33Speaker 1: Man?
- 35:33Speaker 4: You guys, I Superman has a is a very integral
- 35:39Speaker 4: part of my growing up life. It makes me, it
- 35:42Speaker 4: makes me really emotional, honestly, because it was such a
- 35:46Speaker 4: such a huge thing for.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Me growing up. It was just my favorite thing. I mean,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I watched the the Christopher Reeves Ones a bajillion times.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I just I loved everything Superman my whole life and
- 36:00Speaker 4: Man and stuff.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Too, but Superman was always just my number one.
- 36:03Speaker 4: So you know, every time one of these happens, you know,
- 36:07Speaker 4: six Superman returns, I was just you know, out of
- 36:11Speaker 4: my mind. And then in twenty twelve with the Man
- 36:14Speaker 4: of Steel, I was just every time it happens, I'm
- 36:17Speaker 4: the same way. And I you know, I tried to
- 36:19Speaker 4: go in with tempering my expectations, even though I fully
- 36:26Speaker 4: trust James Gunn and I and I you know, but
- 36:30Speaker 4: I but I knew it was going to be different
- 36:32Speaker 4: than than what we had seen before. I just, yeah,
- 36:39Speaker 4: I thought it was so full. It's just so much fun.
- 36:42Speaker 4: I mean, it's so much fun. You know, it is,
- 36:44Speaker 4: like you said, it is a comic book brought to life.
- 36:49Speaker 4: James Gunn is not concerned about we need to make
- 36:52Speaker 4: this realistic and fit into the real you know, the
- 36:55Speaker 4: real world. Yeah, I mean I just rewatched Man of
- 36:58Speaker 4: Steel and you know, I don't want to compare this
- 37:01Speaker 4: to other ones, but I mean Man of Steel is
- 37:04Speaker 4: has so much cool stuff, but it is zero fun.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I mean zero fun fun at all.
- 37:12Speaker 4: And you know, Superman can't be the same as Batman,
- 37:15Speaker 4: like they're supposed to be polar opposites. I mean, Superman
- 37:21Speaker 4: is the big blue boy scout. He's smiley and you know, helpful.
- 37:25Speaker 4: He's just a dude who grew up in the Midwest.
- 37:29Speaker 4: You know, and I just think he captured that perfectly.
- 37:36Speaker 4: It was so wonderful. And James Gunn is so good
- 37:40Speaker 4: at all that he doesn't at all. He's big on
- 37:44Speaker 4: like adopted families. I feel like that's a big theme
- 37:48Speaker 4: in his movies. He loves to have a creature of
- 37:52Speaker 4: some kind that you know, that can't talk, or like
- 37:58Speaker 4: the Shark or or now Crypto. He's really great a
- 38:03Speaker 4: world building, obviously, and this was just so fun and colorful.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I do agree. I do think it was a little
- 38:16Speaker 4: overstuffed in general, like just so much going on, which
- 38:25Speaker 4: and nothing that ruined it for me. I think the
- 38:27Speaker 4: heart and everything was there.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It was fine.
- 38:28Speaker 4: It's just just a lot happened in that two hours.
- 38:32Speaker 4: I mean it's like it's it's straight up like one
- 38:34Speaker 4: fifty eight I think before the credits.
- 38:38Speaker 1: And I mean he even had a lot going on
- 38:40Speaker 1: in there.
- 38:43Speaker 4: But but you know, he hit so many I mean
- 38:47Speaker 4: clearly there was he was alluding to a lot of
- 38:50Speaker 4: real life things.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I mean there was.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Obvious obvious parallels to for sure, Israel and Palestine, Russia.
- 38:58Speaker 1: And Ukraine, with the too made of.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Countries big on our relationship to social media and bots
- 39:09Speaker 4: and speaking of review you know, we were talking about review
- 39:13Speaker 4: bombing earlier. I mean, his monkeys and our relationship to
- 39:18Speaker 4: media also right now, and obviously immigration and illegal aliens,
- 39:24Speaker 4: I mean, which is obviously Superman theme. So I think
- 39:31Speaker 4: that was all, you know, maybe a little heavy handed,
- 39:35Speaker 4: but I don't know. I just think he did it
- 39:37Speaker 4: so it was campy and but on purpose. I just
- 39:43Speaker 4: think it was wonderful. And I don't really have a
- 39:45Speaker 4: hot take. I guess my hot take is I think
- 39:48Speaker 4: this is the this is the Superman movie we needed
- 39:52Speaker 4: right now. You know, like, we don't need a Man
- 39:57Speaker 4: of Steel right now. We have enough bleakness happening. We
- 40:02Speaker 4: don't need a muted palette, yeah, brooding, we need happy
- 40:08Speaker 4: go Lucky. Just all I care about is being a
- 40:12Speaker 4: good person leader Superman right now, and I think that
- 40:17Speaker 4: was the most important part of the movie.
- 40:20Speaker 1: And it was just fun. It was just fun. I mean, yeah,
- 40:27Speaker 1: we needed Superman who saves a squirrel because that squirrel
- 40:31Speaker 1: was in trouble.
- 40:32Speaker 4: I mean, like, and honestly, in the moment, I thought
- 40:34Speaker 4: that was kind of dumb, and afterwards I was like, no,
- 40:39Speaker 4: I like that. I like it because you know, in
- 40:42Speaker 4: the original Superman and Richard donnerd Superman. He has a
- 40:45Speaker 4: scene where he saved, he does all this crazy stuff
- 40:49Speaker 4: and he's then he gets a cat out of a
- 40:50Speaker 4: tree for a little girl, right because that Superman. He's like,
- 40:55Speaker 4: he's you know, there's no job too small. He doesn't care.
- 40:59Speaker 4: And I thought that was that was lovely. I just
- 41:01Speaker 4: thought it was. I thought it was really lovely, and honestly,
- 41:05Speaker 4: I I already want to watch it again. I want
- 41:08Speaker 4: to watch it again, and I have I have a
- 41:10Speaker 4: million nitpicks, obviously, but and I don't think it was
- 41:14Speaker 4: perfect by any means. But I also think it's one
- 41:17Speaker 4: of those movies that I'm gonna like more and more
- 41:19Speaker 4: as I keep watching it.
- 41:21Speaker 1: For sure.
- 41:22Speaker 4: You know, I felt like this when I watched The
- 41:25Speaker 4: Batman two years ago or whatever in the theater. I
- 41:28Speaker 4: was like, Oh, that was that was I was like,
- 41:31Speaker 4: that was a crazy take on Batman. And now I've
- 41:34Speaker 4: watched it like three or four more times since then,
- 41:36Speaker 4: and every time I'm like, I like this more every
- 41:39Speaker 4: time I watch it.
- 41:40Speaker 1: That's cool. He didn't like it again, like it. I
- 41:44Speaker 1: thought it was bad ass. I thought there were parts
- 41:46Speaker 1: of it that were super cool, but yeah, I understand.
- 41:48Speaker 4: I totally understand, but I I totally understand that, but
- 41:51Speaker 4: I will say watching it a few more times, I
- 41:54Speaker 4: like feel like I really get it. And I think
- 41:57Speaker 4: this movie also was so so bananas that it was
- 42:02Speaker 4: hard for me to you know, I was like, this
- 42:05Speaker 4: is so much to take in, but I really sure.
- 42:08Speaker 4: I really think on more watches, I'm gonna like it
- 42:10Speaker 4: more and more. And I think it was a wonderful start.
- 42:14Speaker 1: To the DCU. Oh. I do think it's gonna be
- 42:19Speaker 1: so fun to as he fleshes out the universe to
- 42:22Speaker 1: go back to that is gonna be so great too.
- 42:25Speaker 4: And I do think part of him, as far as
- 42:27Speaker 4: the overstuffedness was maybe he was like I have to
- 42:33Speaker 4: I have to jam this all in and like really
- 42:35Speaker 4: like kickstart this universe. Yeah, like I think he made
- 42:39Speaker 4: decisions more maybe about that than he would have maybe normally.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I don't know. It just felt like it's like just
- 42:47Speaker 1: that I gotta get I gotta get this all in
- 42:49Speaker 1: to really like, you know, really jumpstart this.
- 42:54Speaker 3: But yeah, I feel like that that creature, it was
- 42:58Speaker 3: like this is a any small distraction and then he
- 43:01Speaker 3: like ends up getting really big or whatever. That ye,
- 43:05Speaker 3: I kind of feel like they really only have that
- 43:08Speaker 3: bit to show off these other guys like the Green
- 43:12Speaker 3: Lantern and Hawk Girl and you know, to show that
- 43:15Speaker 3: there's other groups, but otherwise it would seem pretty yeah random.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Also to show Superman but like the sanctity of life
- 43:22Speaker 1: is just exactly and yeah, that's a good point. It was,
- 43:25Speaker 1: it was, but yes, mostly to show these cuts, I
- 43:30Speaker 1: agree for sure. But you know, I think it was
- 43:31Speaker 1: important to show them because they're much more corporate, you know,
- 43:37Speaker 1: I mean literally, they are a corporation and paid. They're
- 43:40Speaker 1: like the boys kind of the Max the Max Lord Corporation,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and you know, And I think it was nice at
- 43:49Speaker 1: the end that they were inspired by him to jump
- 43:53Speaker 1: in showed to that to the conflict. But yeah, so yeah,
- 44:00Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess my my quote unquote hot
- 44:02Speaker 1: take is I think it's the Superman we need currently
- 44:07Speaker 1: and and the direction it should be going right now,
- 44:13Speaker 1: Jimmy Man and Jimmy Jimmy is borderline. I'm like, bro.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Dude, And again, I like, I wish there's Everyone was
- 44:23Speaker 4: so good. I mean, everyone in the cast was wonderful
- 44:28Speaker 4: and part of the reason I'm a little bummed it
- 44:30Speaker 4: was overstuffed in my was just that I wanted everyone
- 44:33Speaker 4: to just have more time, including more Superman and more
- 44:38Speaker 4: Clark and Lois. Like I really, I really thought everyone
- 44:41Speaker 4: was wonderful. But also it makes me excited because I'm like,
- 44:47Speaker 4: I want more and we'll talk more about him, but
- 44:51Speaker 4: we're going to see it. Mister terrific man just border
- 44:56Speaker 4: borderline steal in the show out here. Yeah, I mean yes,
- 45:01Speaker 4: And that's so dude. I mean, he really was wonderful,
- 45:06Speaker 4: Like everyone was wonderful. I just wanted more of everyone,
- 45:09Speaker 4: more of his parents. Well, maybe we should talk about
- 45:12Speaker 4: this acting performances. Maybe we should name our.
- 45:16Speaker 1: The dude. I'm the dude, So that's what you call me,
- 45:20Speaker 1: you know that, or his dudeus or duder or you
- 45:26Speaker 1: know eldudo reno. If you're not into the whole.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Breather favorite acting, I mean, it's it's coren sweat.
- 45:35Speaker 4: I mean that is some no pun intended, but those
- 45:39Speaker 4: are some big boots to fill. I mean literally literally
- 45:44Speaker 4: some big trunks to fill the potatoes. The potato goes
- 45:47Speaker 4: in front sir, Hello, Well, I really thought he was
- 45:54Speaker 4: was wonderful and Robi like Robbie earlier when you said,
- 45:58Speaker 4: you know you felt bad about caw I do too.
- 46:01Speaker 4: But Cavell could never have done this in my in
- 46:05Speaker 4: my actor opinion, Like I think Cavill is fine, right,
- 46:11Speaker 4: but like this dude is a really good actor.
- 46:15Speaker 1: I think more, I.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Mean a better I just Cavill was very and maybe
- 46:19Speaker 4: it was a product of just Zack Snyder not being great,
- 46:23Speaker 4: maybe the best director for character stuff and barely ever
- 46:29Speaker 4: having Clark do anything in those movies. But uh, he
- 46:33Speaker 4: was just so stiff and so he was Batman in
- 46:37Speaker 4: a Superman costume. This this was corn sweat. Just he's
- 46:42Speaker 4: so believably just exactly, He's just you can't not like him,
- 46:48Speaker 4: Like he just makes me smile. And I wish we
- 46:51Speaker 4: would have gotten more of his Clark. But his Clark
- 46:54Speaker 4: was was great too. You know, I could have used another,
- 46:58Speaker 4: definitely another Clark scene.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I think him in.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Brasenahan's chemistry was outstanding. There there there big.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Scene was something we've haven't really gotten in a Superman
- 47:16Speaker 1: movie and a long time, you know, and when they
- 47:19Speaker 1: do it in the original movie, it's so much different.
- 47:23Speaker 1: He comes in with the swagger and then takes her on,
- 47:27Speaker 1: takes her on a flight and whatever, and and then
- 47:29Speaker 1: this one they really let Lois cook. I mean, she
- 47:32Speaker 1: kind of win wins that argument. And I don't know, he's.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Just so good at at clearly being in the beginning
- 47:40Speaker 4: stages of being Superman and not knowing how to handle
- 47:45Speaker 4: everything that's happening. And yeah, I just he really was great,
- 47:49Speaker 4: very charming, looks great, Yeah, funny, I mean, but you
- 47:57Speaker 4: know what, but but I'm I really do like he's
- 47:59Speaker 4: not like Henry Cavill was like a Greek statue. Like
- 48:06Speaker 4: this dude is obviously big and strong, but he looks
- 48:08Speaker 4: like a normal dude. You know, he looks he looks
- 48:11Speaker 4: like a Western but he's not like Cavil, Like, I
- 48:18Speaker 4: don't you know what I mean, does that make sense?
- 48:20Speaker 4: He's not like perfect looking. I guess he's I don't know.
- 48:26Speaker 4: He's just a very believable Superman. And I thought he was.
- 48:31Speaker 4: I thought he was just really wonderful.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Agreed it, agree with all that.
- 48:39Speaker 3: They had him getting his ass kicked a lot a
- 48:41Speaker 3: lot wait for being Superman.
- 48:42Speaker 1: He got straight bodied, like every time he got in
- 48:45Speaker 1: a fight. He really did.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Man, I feel like we don't see that a lot
- 48:50Speaker 3: from Superman, which is this one.
- 48:53Speaker 4: Well, I also think and I think we got hit
- 48:55Speaker 4: over the head pretty hard with it that the tough
- 48:59Speaker 4: thing about Superman is like we need him to be
- 49:02Speaker 4: vulnerable and we need him to feel human because he
- 49:07Speaker 4: is stronger and more powerful than everyone. He should never
- 49:10Speaker 4: lose a fight. But if you do that, it's never
- 49:12Speaker 4: going to be interesting, right, you know, It's kind of
- 49:16Speaker 4: like we need to see him fail. Otherwise, what what
- 49:20Speaker 4: are we doing? You know, if he can just he
- 49:22Speaker 4: can just crush everyone, and you know, maybe they went
- 49:26Speaker 4: and again, I think it was pretty heavy handed the
- 49:29Speaker 4: message throughout that he needs to be you know, he's
- 49:33Speaker 4: he is human, but but boy, he sure does get
- 49:37Speaker 4: handled quite a bit.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Here did.
- 49:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but I thought he did all that really well too.
- 49:45Speaker 3: And yeah, I was, I was really impressed with this guy.
- 49:48Speaker 3: I wasn't super familiar with him. And I saw him
- 49:52Speaker 3: in that like bit roll in Twisters, yep, all.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Of his other stuff. I really haven't said he was.
- 49:59Speaker 4: I saw him in like a fun like Netflix rom
- 50:01Speaker 4: com like a year or two ago.
- 50:04Speaker 1: He was in some that Hollywood show. I never watched that,
- 50:07Speaker 1: but something either.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was I felt like they needed kind
- 50:13Speaker 3: of a relatively unknown guy again and he completely crushed.
- 50:19Speaker 4: I think you always you always need that with Superman.
- 50:22Speaker 4: I mean they've they've literally always been that, right, you know,
- 50:28Speaker 4: even in the original. I think they wanted like Warren
- 50:30Speaker 4: Batty and Robert Redford and people, and then they are
- 50:33Speaker 4: finally were like, no, we need someone no one knows
- 50:37Speaker 4: you just you can't have you can't have any baggage
- 50:40Speaker 4: and be Superman. You need you need to you need
- 50:43Speaker 4: to be like a clean slate actor.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Mm hmm yep. And I agree with you, guys. I
- 50:50Speaker 1: think he's obviously the dude. Uh. My favorite parts about
- 50:53Speaker 1: him were the like soft moments with him were really great.
- 50:58Speaker 1: When he knew he knew Mall his name right, Like
- 51:01Speaker 1: he was like, oh, he wasn't just a guy, he
- 51:03Speaker 1: was my friend, this guy you know, like even though
- 51:06Speaker 1: he only gave him flo offfe once or.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Whatever, right, Like I'm gonna say, yeah, I felt like
- 51:10Speaker 3: we needed to know more about because I didn't really
- 51:13Speaker 3: care when that.
- 51:14Speaker 1: I mean, it was a bummer that it happened.
- 51:17Speaker 3: But like when he didn't know him in the head,
- 51:19Speaker 3: I was like, actually did it Yeah, well it was
- 51:24Speaker 3: so fast and he thought that was.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's supposed to show us more about Lex I
- 51:31Speaker 1: think than Superman. But also Superman did know his name
- 51:35Speaker 1: and all, like I loved those moments or when he
- 51:38Speaker 1: felt bad that had to die, you know, all these things.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Actually, one part that actually got me a little emotional
- 51:46Speaker 4: was when when he says to Lois, he's like he's
- 51:49Speaker 4: he's just a dog, Like he doesn't when he's like,
- 51:53Speaker 4: I'm gonna go out him and he's probably scared.
- 51:55Speaker 1: He's probably scared.
- 51:56Speaker 4: He doesn't even like this dog, you know, I mean
- 51:59Speaker 4: he and he's still just like that got me a
- 52:03Speaker 4: little bit.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he's probably scared. Yeah.
- 52:07Speaker 4: But to your to your to your point, Robbie, I
- 52:10Speaker 4: think in one of my problems with it being overstuffed
- 52:13Speaker 4: is I do feel like we lost a little just
- 52:18Speaker 4: backstory for everyone. Not that we need a lot, but
- 52:23Speaker 4: like to your point, to that guy, just a little
- 52:25Speaker 4: something metamorpho.
- 52:28Speaker 1: I feel like we're so quick. I just feel like
- 52:32Speaker 1: we we but maybe we'll get it later, you know. Yeah, sure,
- 52:38Speaker 1: uh love that. Well, there's a bunch of other people
- 52:40Speaker 1: in this movie, so so many people name them. Should
- 52:43Speaker 1: we go to the Tucci man, I don't even know
- 52:47Speaker 1: this is a lot I seriously, do not think there
- 52:51Speaker 1: was a bad casting choice in this movie. I mean,
- 52:54Speaker 1: I like everyone crushed. Yeah, yeah, everyone favorite is so wonderful. Yeah,
- 53:05Speaker 1: I mean we we talked to Rachel already. I mean,
- 53:10Speaker 1: I just want to talk about it.
- 53:11Speaker 4: I just want I just want to talk about everyone, honestly.
- 53:14Speaker 4: More of a surprise though, Nicholas Holt really crushed.
- 53:17Speaker 1: I mean he was great. It's not a surprise. That's
- 53:21Speaker 1: not a surprise.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Every single thing I see him, and he is incredible
- 53:25Speaker 3: in everything, and.
- 53:27Speaker 1: He picks really cool to work on too. It's everything
- 53:31Speaker 1: his team is. Man, I just listened to his SmartLess episode.
- 53:36Speaker 1: I'm going to check that out and they and they
- 53:40Speaker 1: even were like, you just pick such good stuff.
- 53:44Speaker 4: I mean, which is a which is a hard I
- 53:46Speaker 4: mean I'm always blown away because you know, when you
- 53:48Speaker 4: get to that level, he's probably getting scripts thrown at
- 53:52Speaker 4: him left and right. I mean, you know, to to
- 53:55Speaker 4: really know when to when to do a big thing
- 53:59Speaker 4: and when to you know, it's impressive, he really is.
- 54:04Speaker 4: His IMTB is impressive. For I haven't even seen No
- 54:08Speaker 4: Spratu yet and I heard he's.
- 54:09Speaker 1: A Yeah, I'm scared. Well that's because Robert Edgars is crazy.
- 54:17Speaker 1: He makes me feel gross. I mean it was good,
- 54:21Speaker 1: but I didn't like it.
- 54:22Speaker 4: Yeah, but man, he really uh he really uh.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 54:31Speaker 4: He brought such a a fun I mean to your
- 54:35Speaker 4: point earlier views the the tech billionaire sure is an
- 54:39Speaker 4: easy villain to have right now, but he brought such a.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Like BROI energy to it. Yeah. Uh yeah, he just
- 54:49Speaker 1: did such a good job and he really just his
- 54:53Speaker 1: his hatred for Superman was just seething and just like
- 54:58Speaker 1: that fault line of like into kearny and vulnerability underneath
- 55:01Speaker 1: his seething hatred is just so right there. But I
- 55:05Speaker 1: don't know, I loved it. I thought he was.
- 55:07Speaker 4: But also he was so good at like with him too,
- 55:11Speaker 4: with his with his little like he has that little
- 55:13Speaker 4: his little smirk.
- 55:16Speaker 1: And you just like kind of want to slap the
- 55:18Speaker 1: of you. But yeah, he was so fun, so fun.
- 55:22Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah, he was so good. So which
- 55:27Speaker 1: one I want to talk about everyone? So yeaheah, we'll
- 55:30Speaker 1: just rankle through. But I had him as well. Then
- 55:34Speaker 1: My next up was Rachel bros Nan. She's so good
- 55:37Speaker 1: and to Benny's.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Point, like they really gave her a lot. She was
- 55:41Speaker 3: not just like the pretty face Lois Lane. Like, yeah,
- 55:46Speaker 3: I feel like James Gunn writes pretty pretty well for women,
- 55:51Speaker 3: did a really really good job with with Rachel Brosnan
- 55:56Speaker 3: in this and yeah, like I said, I kept picturing
- 56:00Speaker 3: a Mazal and I had to just get that out
- 56:01Speaker 3: of my head. But she was, she was fantastic.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that. Sorry I didn't write down his name,
- 56:08Speaker 1: Uh say his name Eddie probably seriously, I seriously think
- 56:15Speaker 1: he low key like stole the movie. He's honestly my
- 56:21Speaker 1: favorite action scene in the entire movie. Superman's not in it, dude, it's.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Because it is Also that's the most James gun signature. Like, dude,
- 56:34Speaker 4: he drops the dome over her and then they hit
- 56:37Speaker 4: they hit the needle drop. It is exactly. It is totally.
- 56:41Speaker 4: Uh Yanda escaping in Guardians two with that little bit
- 56:47Speaker 4: closer and the arrow find a round and Guardians three
- 56:52Speaker 4: with the Beastie.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Boys in the hallway, Yeah, like that is I've got
- 56:55Speaker 1: goosebumps right now, or even in the second one, like
- 56:59Speaker 1: we see the entire first battle through walla little little
- 57:05Speaker 1: little bit right, Yeah, Like that's totally I love it
- 57:10Speaker 1: and I think that's so effective to see it sort
- 57:13Speaker 1: of in the background but also not but you know,
- 57:16Speaker 1: we're getting the character's reaction to it. It's it's that's like,
- 57:19Speaker 1: that's James.
- 57:19Speaker 4: Gunn like like seeing a Wes Anderson symmetrical theatrical set.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Like I'm just like, I know exactly whose movie this
- 57:29Speaker 4: is right now? Yeah, sure is the best fight scene
- 57:34Speaker 4: in the movie and Superman's not in it.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Dude, Well, we're stepping on my ticket. That's for sure
- 57:40Speaker 3: my favorite scene in that whole movie.
- 57:41Speaker 1: It's awesome. Yeah, it's awesome. He really was awesome. Also,
- 57:48Speaker 1: Nathan Fillion is wonderful in this movie, and he's always
- 57:52Speaker 1: been one of my ever does anything wrong, I will?
- 57:57Speaker 1: I love him so much. He's so funny in this
- 58:02Speaker 1: so good tone perfect. I read somewhere that in the
- 58:05Speaker 1: next I think it's the next season of Peacemaker, that characters,
- 58:11Speaker 1: I guess is the that's the story. Yeah, I just
- 58:14Speaker 1: wanted more of him, dude. When she's like and a
- 58:18Speaker 1: great green lantern, that.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Hat should be whatever? Yeah, yeah, that what should be?
- 58:27Speaker 4: What yea so good? So stupid? Is such a such
- 58:34Speaker 4: a butthole? And when they attack in Bavaria or whatever,
- 58:37Speaker 4: and the big just green middle finger comes up.
- 58:40Speaker 1: For one second. Yeah, god damn, he's funny. It's very
- 58:44Speaker 1: cool upgrade, you know, so great, Yeah, so great man.
- 58:52Speaker 3: We mentioned him earlier, but Skyler Gazando as Jimmy Olsen
- 58:56Speaker 3: was pretty and so kind of flipped that character on
- 59:01Speaker 3: its head a.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Little bit too much.
- 59:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, because that character is always just a little
- 59:07Speaker 4: a little just nerd, but kind of sounds like a
- 59:12Speaker 4: little wiener, right, He's always a little wiener.
- 59:14Speaker 3: But you see those you see those two really attractive women,
- 59:18Speaker 3: like yeah, looking over at him, and then yeah, then
- 59:22Speaker 3: that really.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Pretty What was her name? Eve? Yeah?
- 59:25Speaker 3: Yeah, selfie mutant toes, she's uh, she's she's she's.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Eve test Mocker.
- 59:37Speaker 4: Right, she's the same she's the same character as as
- 59:41Speaker 4: is in the original.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Oh really, I didn't know that.
- 59:45Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, the one she's in Original Superman. She's like Lexus,
- 59:51Speaker 4: like kind of side piece girl friend miss and he's
- 59:54Speaker 4: called miss miss Text Miss test Mocker and and in
- 59:58Speaker 4: Superman in Superman Return, that's who Parker Posey is too.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, that's fun. So it's fun.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: But yeah, and how crazy is it that Alan Tudic
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: just keeps getting these robots and he just keeps amazing.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: All those robots were voices, which I didn't realize at
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: the time. Michael Rooker and his wife is one of them. Yeah,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: and then uh uh clem yeah.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: For whatever her name pm pm Clement.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I did it the wrong way, but yeah,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: she was in it. Yeah.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: But dude, Alan tud just always he gets in like
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: he usually gives like a boohoo in there too, being
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: speaking about these robots everything.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: How do you do that every time? It's really amazing.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Is so awesome because yeah, what he's one of my
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: favor he's the droid and rogue one yeah one yeah.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: T s what was his name?
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: Yeah, he was the eye robot Robot. He's just he
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: does it a lot. One of my favorite character actors.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Wendell Pierce showed up Perry.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: White so much, so great. I love him. Could have
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: used more of him. He did not get much at all.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Yeah, no, but I'm assuming he'll get some more stuff.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: I mean, look, I assume they all are. You know.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: It's just there was a lot going on, a lot
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: going on.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Beck Bennett didn't do much. He's very funny.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: What about.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: Metamorpho though, our boy from Barry dude from Barry I want.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: I really wanted more of him. I mean, yeah, I
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: didn't realize it was him until.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I already knew it was him going in. But okay, nice, nice.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: I thought I just thought he was going to play
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: a much bigger part I guess in the story.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: But he's on. He's a part of the gang now,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: so he'll be around. Sounds like as we mentioned. So
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: she was really great. I liked her a lot. Sarah Sempio, Yeah,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: she was really fun. She was super funny. Also, I
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: loved that they made her like the selfie stuff was
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: for a reason, Like I just loved all that stuff.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that was that was That was a smart,
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: little uh little side play.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Yeah. And she's like, you know, crazy, but also so
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: is Jimmy, and you know all the things.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: It was Jimmy, Jimmy. That's really funny. Just he's just
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: it's kind of like ladies man, It's like, uh, what
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: am I thinking of? Oh it's like, what's the dude
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: the page dude in Game of Thrones?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, just keep implying that he has just a
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: huge dong. Basically, Oh why can't I think of his
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: name right now? I can't all the time.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I was picturing more of like Will Ferrell and
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: the other guys where he's got this smoking wife AND's like, oh,
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: you know, I.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Was also thinking of Will Ferrell and Blades of Glory too,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: pad Padrick Payne.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Padrick just just for no reason. She's just love him.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: So funny, just so funny, so great.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: It was fun seeing Isabella Mercete is hawk girl and
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: she's blowing up.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: She was great. She was great, and last she was wonderful.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: I didn't see her as Dora the Explorer did. Yeah,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: and once you see it in your mind's eye, you
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: can't get it.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Like I wonder where she kind of came from. That's funny. Yeah,
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: she was wonderful too. I could have used some more
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: of her too, but she Everyone did their jobs very well.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: It was great, honestly, didn't even talk about his parents
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: were really his parents so good.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: What's the guys, what's the actor's name?
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: His name is Taylor Vance. Yeah, he's got the crazy
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: shimmy eyes very much, I don't think, thank God, but
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: he's so when he's a bad guy and I.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Wish, I wish he would have gotten a little again. Again.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: Everyone I wish everyone had gotten a little more to do.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: But you know, it's hard with the parents in Superman
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: if you're not doing the origin story because yeah, sure,
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: that's kind of where their big storyline is. I like
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: that they were they're doing.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: The version where they're both alive though, and he's not
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: getting killed Tornado for no stupid reason.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: That's the dumbest Tornado. That was a dumb one, super dumb. Yeah,
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: it's it's tough to go. It's tough to go from
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Kevin cost I liked it though, because because they were
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: very like simple people, not dumb, but you know, like
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: they were just it's just like dan are both really attractive,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: older people and very I don't know, they just seemed very.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Believable as as where they were and where they were from.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: And you know, I like that again, I like that
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: the dad's they're still alive and he's still alive, and
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: because I know there's there's different versions in the comics
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: and he I wish it was a great Yeah, it's
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: just Kevin Costner in Man of Steel gets like three
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: just banger scenes, which honestly are probably the best part
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: of that movie, to be honest. But but Pruitz really
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: crushed his his And honestly, it makes me really emotional
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: the way Corn sweat like double like he puts his
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: arm around him, but he like kind of half hugs him.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: I don't know, Yeah, really gets me. Jeez, it's really great.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: How do we feel about the Kryptonian parents? That was
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: a that was a big swing their backstory, you mean
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: the Yeah, the fact that.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: They basically changed it to the what they said was
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: actually what they said, because I thought I thought it
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: was going to turn out that that wasn't real, right.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Same, I felt like setting it up to have it
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: be like that was doctored in some way.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I still think it could. It could be like they
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: were scared Zod was going to get the message, so
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: they put that in there intentionally, you know, like had
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: part of it it screwed up, so he only heard
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: the part they really wanted anymore. It was a mistranslation
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: or something. I feel like we still have that.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: It felt it felt really weird just to be like, well, no,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: that's exactly.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: A language from another planet, and when you've deciphered it
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: in fifteen minutes, like they said it so definitively, it
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: felt like it was that's yeah, right, although I've been
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: thinking about it all day also, and I'm like I
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: can get behind it a little bit in that I
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: don't know his his dad. It's almost like they're combining
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: his dad and General Zod a little bit into a
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: Chara show where he's like, you know, not even that
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: it's so much out of malice, but like you need
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: to continue our heritage if you can, and you know
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: almost more. I don't know, I'm trying to like justify
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: my brain. It was just kind of a jarring decision.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I think it does do a good job at making yes,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Superman more human because because it gives him something to
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: go against rather than like back up, you know, so
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: like it does make him part.
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Of this world, and you know the beginning where the
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: robots are like it calms him down, and then at
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: the end, like it calms him down. In its home videos,
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: which which was really amazing.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: It was a little cheesy both the way they filmed it,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: but it was nice. Yeah, but they both had different
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: names at the end, which I think is cool too,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Like he went by Superman by the end, you know,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: like and Gary was there and all that, right, So
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: like it felt very like this is now where we're
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: actually starting again. Oh all the things. The funny thing is,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: like all the things, I was like, I don't know
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: if this works for me. In the movie, I still
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: was like, but it's all just based in love and
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: being being good, and I just it made me feel good.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I think somewhere in me I wanted
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: maybe a little little more like epic Superman something. But
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: but also we've done that, and we've done the you know,
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: I don't I don't need the I don't need the
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: Christ references and the all that anymore.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: I mean, we've done all that. That's stained glass. Just
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: watched it the other night and I was like, God,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: I just beat us over the head. Bro my god,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I went we get it, Like, come up, I will say.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: They gave us the one shot where he catches the
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: building and lets her go on the car and she
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: looks back and he just r that's pretty That is
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: pretty used. Like one more of those maybe.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: But sure sure, yeah. Uh it feels like we should
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: talk about some scenes where we think, should we go
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: on and name the dinger Dings is quite simple, really, Dingus, Dingus.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I can talk about my Dingus all night long. Just
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: your favorite scene rob you already.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: I mean I did say, yeah, I love pretty mister
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: terrific scene when he he takes out everyone at the
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: camp where the portal is. He puts Lois in the
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: forest field and just proceeds to kick ass.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I wish I can't remember what song drops right there. Yeah,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: I didn't know the song.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: I wish you would have been either, but that one
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: that was probably my favorite of the songs chosen, though
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: at least it was the most effective.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: I felt like.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: I didn't really I know, we I know, want to
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: jump and we are talking about the punk rock thing
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: was a little weird to me.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's interesting. I didn't connect with it a ton. However,
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: I do know that James Gunn was super in the
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: punk rock and.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: Which again I think everything I'm just like, I also
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: think this is just James Gunn just did everything he
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: just really wanted to do with his whole heart and
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: get behind that.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: He made very specific choices and I'm okay with you,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: yeah totally.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: But as far as soundtracks, I'd much rather have that
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: Guardian's for sure, because.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: That thing I did hear they have on Spotify. I
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: think they have, uh, playlists for each character and stuff,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: which is kind of He made a playlist for every character.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: That's kind of cool. Is funny to listen to. I
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: haven't done it.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, he's clearly a big music Yeah, it was pretty cool.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: But I wanted I wanted mister Terrific song to just
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: be on just a sick like funk tune. Maybe it
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: would have been a little better, but it worked and
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: I always loved it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: I was just like, yes, I want more of this. Yeah.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: It was.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: And after he kicks everybody's ass and she's like, you know,
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: I guess you decided to help. He's like, only because
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: it'll piss off Green.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, which is so great. Yeah, he was awesome. You
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: get more of that. God, he was great. That's a great.
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: I hope every I want every black child ever this
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: October to just be mister Terrific for all we.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Like. My God, it's just the best. He's the best.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: If you had really little kids, they could almost be
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: like in the you know, and then series going around him.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: It'd be so good. Nice. That's really fun. Benny, you
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: want to go next, or you want me to go?
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: I guess I'll go. I don't even know this is
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: so hard. Yeah, honestly, you don't seen. I really I
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: really liked. I really liked when when he busts into
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: Luther's office, Yes, and he's just and he's like losing it,
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: because I think that was a really great Superman moment
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: that we've never really seen before, you know, like in
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: the in the original movie they do that scene. Also
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: Christopher Reeves busts in the door and gene Hackman's there,
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: and he like busts the door down and he steps
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: in and gene Hagman's like it's open.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Come in, yeah, And then after he and.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Then he walks up and Gene Hagmand's like, my lawyer
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: will be in touch about the damage to the door.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: But like you know, Christopher Reeves plays it really like
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: stoic and he's really and obviously korn Sweat has the
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: I just it's fun to see him come in because
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: again he's he's he's hot, and he's new at this
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: and he he doesn't really have full control yet, and
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: he's and you.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Know, he's going like John Wick.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: On him because you know about this dog and and
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: I think it's awesome to see him losing it. And
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: Nicholas Holt plays it so cool. Yeah, and he's like
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: with him and and Nicholas Holt kind of kind of
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: wins is the scene a little bit. I just think
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: I just think it's a cool scene that he looks
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: he looks badass as Superman, but also he's out of control,
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: which is not what he should be doing.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: And and it's such a good example of both their characters.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: He's still naive, like you're saying, but also is like,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: whether it's naive or not, is also just led by
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: this sort of his ethos of like, we don't do that,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: like it's just a dog, dog, what the hell like
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: attack me, take out my stuff all that and do
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: whatever you want to me. That's fine, doesn't he say this?
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Doesn't say at the end, and he's just like he's
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: just a dog or something like, Yes, he's so concerned. Yeah.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: I just I think it's such a good I think
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: it's so wonderful for both of their characters.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great thing. I like that one a lot.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: I would pick a I really think I would pick
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: the Mister Terrific fight scene for an action scene one
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: hundred percent. I loved it. But which is funny the
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: like I will say in this movie, just as a
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: quick aside, the like river, the plasma river and all that,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I don't care about that they could have got rid
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: of that and give us more backstory for me. I didn't.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: I just thought that was kind of sill.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: Remind me to give you my quick take on all
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: that after you're done here.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Okay. But my favorite scene for for ones that are like,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: uh more relaxed, not like an action scene. I loved
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: the heart to heart with Clark and Lois as the big,
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: colorful like amiba fight is happening in the background, so
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: cool for so many reasons. Number one, I freaking loved
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: the line that she says where she's like, I didn't
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: believe that was true of you, Clark for even a second,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: like when and he was like, I didn't know, And
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: She's just like, I want you to know, not even
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: for a half a second did I think that was
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: true that you did you know? Like you were lying
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: to me or that wasn't your character. I just thought
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: that was so like fulfilling for her character and him
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: to hear that and everything. But also just the view
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: of that, like the like rainbow blood coming out of
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: this you know, jellyfish in the background, seeing that he
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: doesn't care about stopping the bad guys. He only wants
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: to like stop people from getting hurt, you know things.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: And this was the fact that again that's kind of
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: like the opening of Guardians Too with Groot and the
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: like the fact that the fact that so much crazy
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: apparently happens in Metropolis that he's it's fine, they'll handle like,
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: we don't even we don't even explain what that is
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: or where that's from Tuesday or whatever. Like I love
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: that they don't even explain at it son. And and
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: that's where he says the dog stuff too, isn't it
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: where he's like, I got to go, Yeah, that's.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Her.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: He loves her too, right, Yeah, should should have told
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: you a long time ago.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: I just loved that scene.
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: I thought I think we would be remiss also not
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: to talk about the interviews scene.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that scene that is like that is we've never.
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Seen that in a in a Superman movie ever, because
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: she like she kind of owns him in that scene,
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: and she and talk about like media stuff and journalistic
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: integrity and and him being too green to understand you know,
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: the ramifications of what he's doing and she's and he's like, well,
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: you know me. You wouldn't ask these questions if you
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: didn't know me. She's like, no, I.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Would, I absolutely absolutely would, like it's what I do
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: you are And when she's like, I agree with you.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I'm almost certain that is the truth. But I don't
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: know that's the truth. You know, Like we can't which
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: you know, on this stuff. You can't go just by
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: what we believe. You know, we have to prove.
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: I have to have an objective opinion of all this
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: and and everything I'm saying is true. You did this,
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: You went into this this conflict and decided to interfere.
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: You know what I mean, It's real.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: It's I also, I love you can see why they
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: like each other because they can have those kinds of
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: like battler rep oartad you know what I mean. I
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: don't know. It's really great. I love that scene. That
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: was a great scene.
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: I was gonna say, if I had a big overall
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: about this movie again, I it was so much fun.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I do think.
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: I do think somewhere in this there's a simpler version
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: of this movie where where we open with the war.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: About to start and we see him stop.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: It and then and that is sort of the main
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: conflict of the movie. And we can still have you know,
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: the the Luther's henchmen and stuff, but.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: Like the the what is it called, the uh, the side.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: Universe, the Pocket universe, if we if that went away
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: and we just had Luther had some sweet kryptonite cage
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: that he kept him in, you know. I just the
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: only part, I think, one of the only parts that
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: really lost me was that whole Pocket Universe section. Like
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: it was fun, it was fun to have Metamorphoe come
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: in there. And it's just that the river thing was
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: a little crazy for me.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't I didn't like it, but I guess
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: he needed the I know, the I know, the black
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: hole becomes a thing.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: It's just to me, the the the conflict could have
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: been kind of the conflict between the two countries could
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: have kind of been the main thing. Sure, and then
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: we could have just also added the ultraman stuff too.
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: I just feel like we had a lot of again
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: I'm just I'm nitpicking, and but that was just that
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: was the only part. That river thing was the only
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: part where I was like, we've gotten a little a
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: little video gamey looking, and and also like Luther is.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Such a good villain. He did such a good job
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: that I'm like, I don't need all these other There
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: was so all these other things, like his uh, his
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: whole little army of dudes. I don't know. It was
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: just a lot. But again, and we haven't even talked
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: about it.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: He had a clone and that too, and that was
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: like all that.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: It's basically bizarre, like bizarre.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: The seeds are seeds, but they are two different things,
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: I think from the comics. Yeah, even that, I was like,
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: is this a big enough deal or too big?
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: Like did they make a big enough deal of this?
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: It was almost like there was so much crazy going
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: on that you were like, oh, yeah, it's Sam.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Okay, we it's a clone.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: Like I don't know, you know, things, things lose important
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: when there's so much happening.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess it's hard to know the scale then, right,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: And then you're like, look, I think he could come
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: back as full Maybe that's a theater, right, like it
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: could come back from that side universe or wherever black
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: And it's like when you okay, he can make a
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: pocket universe. Okay, well I guess he can do literally anything.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: Then like It's just like at that point, I was like, Okay,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: a clone's not even a big deal anymore. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: he created a hockey universe. Whatever that is, okay. I
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: was so happy they had a good answer, though, because
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: I was like, how the hell did they just happen
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: to get in the Fortress of Solitude. I knew, I
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: knew backstory of the comics that that's what was going on.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Can I say my favorite little comedy part scene in
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: this was when Nicholas Holt pushes the coffee cut off
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: the thing and then they're like to pick it up,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: and then he pushes it again. Another thing. This guy's
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: an app it like, it's so funny.
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: I will say, I will say to it, I do
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: like I like James Gunn's humor, and I like, I've
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: always loved like we get crazy and then we cut
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: the legs out of stuff. There were definitely a few
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: times where I'm like, yeah, totally, I don't need it
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: all the time. You know, he did it so and
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: look again, totally his style and all good. There was
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: just a few towards the end where I was like,
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: we don't we don't need to have a joke every moment. Honestly,
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: it was really was the mister terrific to him and
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: him being like screwing around, I'm doing important stuff.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: Yeah, like which the Deliverer. Everything was great.
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: I just at that point, I'm like, I feel like
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: we just need to be like a little more high
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: stakes in this moment.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: Yeah, there's still a lot of stuff happening, right, Yeah,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: just like we don't always want to cut the legs
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: out of stuff, but other scenes that we feel like
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: we have to mention.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: We didn't really talk about the the one henchman woman
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: taking over the engineers pretty badass, Like, yeah, that was cool.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: She was cool. It was cool in general, and that
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: was we didn't know a ton of things.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: It was like, I mean, yeah, she was cool beingeer.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: But he called her he called her Angel or.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Something because she was like a special ops person or
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: something before that.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: Yeah, but then she I don't remember did they say
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: how she got her powers?
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: He filled her with nanobots or something like something like that,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: and then she can build anything she can think of
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: or something.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: Yeah, she lost her humanity over that, Yeah she really did.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, she was cool. That was good. I like that
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: scene a lot, Like and all the robots and lex
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: just like calmly walking. That was ye, yes, that was
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: super Yes.
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: But again even that scene, I I wish we would
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: have gotten one more scene in the fortress with the robots, yes, right,
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: just to have a little bigger of an impact.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Things just happened so fast they really it was through
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: the movie, hey, step for sure.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: And I did really enjoy the the clone reveal and
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: the fight and then you know, Crypto taking out all
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: the all the cameras. So then, but we haven't talked
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: enough Crypto.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Crypto was so Crypto much a much bigger role than
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: I thought, and I really liked him and led to
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: a great reveal of Supergirl, which yeah, that guy from
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: what is she from the House the Dragon? Yeah, that's right.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Uh And she was great and that I'm excited. I
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: think she's going to be a super fun Supergirl if
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: that's how they're gonna If that's how they're going to
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: do it, I do think it's gonna be. Yeah, when
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: like the opposite of Superman, like yo, I was, I
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: was like a teenager on Krypton. Yeah, I don't give
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: these humans are dumb. That was really fun. This dog
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: is an idiot, really fun.
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: Yeah, she just and he's he's just like, I see
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: this way, I shouldn't take care of the dog.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: He's such a buz. Who also, can we talk about
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: the first words out of his mouth when he gets
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: to the fortresses? Golly golly he says, He says like, golly. Yeah,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: I was like, that's what Superman is.
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: Such a he's such a bottle. Well, yeah, I don't
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: know what's there other guy? I mean that's I feel
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: like we talked about most of the movie right there.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: Yes, well we can move on to let's talk about
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: our favorite quote. It's time to show me the money.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Show me the money, show me. These are hard, this
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: is all you. I didn't. I do have quite a few.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: I was able to the second time remember some. So
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: I was able to write down a few that I liked.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: You had said one Nathan Fillion, and who's like Superman
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: couldn't make it, so you got enough.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: That's funny. I loved you When Metamorpho, he's like, Justice Gang,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: that's a cool name, and then immediately like you that
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: the Justice Gang bit is pretty funny. That's this gang
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: is so stupid and great. God, I love.
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: That When Superman and four talking and Superman's like, four
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: is a name, and then for its like, so it
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: is Gary.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: I love that. I love that so much. And then
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: he becomes scary and then he just calls him Gary.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: All right, you're Gary? Yeah, bro, that's pretty funny and
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: all too.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: They got another line he's like, and we could not
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: care in our heart at hearts whether he lives or dies.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: Talking about the he says something. He says something to
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Superman too, like when they first get him, they're like,
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: we don't have any consciousness, so we we don't really
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: care or something like that, right, we have no emotions? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: But I felt like.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: The one line I was like, oh, that's that's pretty
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: cool kind of of was the Lois lane like you
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: think everything and everyone is beautiful. He's like maybe that's
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: the real punk rock.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that's funny, freaking nerd, right, But yeah, that was
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: a great line. You know. I like to throw some up.
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: I liked what he said at the end of the
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: movie to Luther, even though I didn't it was a
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: super It was a super cheesy hitting us way too
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: hard over the headline. But his his like line about
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: being human human, right.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: I think I got most of it. It's like the
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: most it's like, it's pretty great.
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: It's a great it's a great line to read. I
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: don't think it was great to say. But but again,
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: one thing about this movie is I feel like that
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: is directly out of the page of a comic. And
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: that's why why the movie's fun, Because I think it's
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: like unabashedly corny and campy. Yeah, and I think that's
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: on purpose. And that's and and and it kind of
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: makes everything okay to me, like we're not we're not.
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: We're not Christopher Nolan over here trying to make everything
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: you know, rooted in real life.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: We can.
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: It was even him and Corn Sweat talking about the
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: costume and the and the the.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: Shorts and there, you know, they're like, look, this is a.
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: Crazy this is an insane thing that's happening. I mean,
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: it should hardly be weird that a dude's wearing this outfit.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: I mean, that's that's the least weird thing that's going
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: on here.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Right. Of course, I don't remember what that exact line is.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: I have to look it up, But are you talking
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: about the Superman one or the Lex Luthor line? The
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Superman line at the end. Yeah, he says something like,
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: I'm as human as anyone. I love, I get scared,
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: I screw up all the time, but that is being human,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: and that's my greatest strength. And I hope for the
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: sake of the world someday that you see that too, or.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: Something, which is the whole point of that whole point
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: of the movie and the character which but.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: I hear you it is. It's cheesy but still a superman.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: You know, he's like freaking Kirk Cousins if he could fly, Like, yeah, right,
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say the most obvious silly thing right now.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: But I also and maybe that's the real ooh, that's
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: the real punk rock baby. I also love Lex's response,
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: or Lex's before that, when he's like, you're driven by envy, Luthor,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: and he's like, yeah, no, I'm aware. Envy consumes my
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: every waking moment. I know, when they mentioned Galileo or
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: Einstein or one of these other twits in the same
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: breath as me, I feel a tied to vomb a
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: burn in the back of my throat. But at least
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Galileo did something he wasn't some dopey Venusian catapulted onto
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: this planet just to have the world fawn over him,
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: because his strength illuminates how weak we all really are.
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: So my envy is a calling. It is the sole
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: hope for humanity because it is what has driven me
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: to annihilating you. And I was like, you know that's
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: what that's what I'm Yeah, Like I love that He's like,
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: we are weak because you are strong, and that's why
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I had to destroy you, you know.
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: But also that's so great because that's always what makes
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: a sweet villain is like I believe in what I'm doing.
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: You know, I'm not just I'm not just evil for
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: evil's sake, Like I I have a raison and I
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: believe what I'm doing is the right thing. I love that,
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: Like that's always the best bad thing.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: I love it. Uh. Super Girl says thanks for watching him, bitch,
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: which I think is pretty fun.
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: Also, I love that. I love that they dropped a
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: lot of just in this. They weren't afraid to just have,
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: you know, a little bad language, which I think is great. Yeah,
- 1:32:02Speaker 4: she does just throw out a bitch, So great again,
- 1:32:06Speaker 4: if that's how her movie is gonna.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: Be, I'm thrilled. Yeah, let's go. That's awesome. I love
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: when he's talking about the bands. He's like, Hey, I
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: liked the Strange Fellows p O D. And the Mighty
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Crab Boys or whatever is the Mighty Cray Are those
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: real bands? Think so?
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: But I don't think they made they made up the.
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: Mighty I assumed the last I just assumed that last
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: song was like one of those.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: Well PD is a right, so he definitely says Po D.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but that Mighty Crab Boys they do that song
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: at the end and it says that the song was
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: written by James Gunn.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: Oh funny, So that's probably I didn't notice that. That's
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: really funny. And he had that poster in his room. Yeah,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: the poster. That's why. That's when I was like, is
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: this real? Yeah, that's when he's like, Luther, your obsession
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: with me is getting a little creepy. Don't worry, Tall
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: dark In Martian isn't my type. Kryptonian, same thing. I
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: just thought that was a nice little like there. So
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: the mutant toes thing is just so stupid and great.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: That was funny. Yeah, you have unconventional toes. Who cares.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: There's other parts of you that other people would probably
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: find very attractive, which is so funny because she's just
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: just smoking and loves him and super This is what
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: I was thinking of. It's like Jason Alexander in Shallow House. Yeah,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: a little bit like I don't think so literally is
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: with the smoking hot chicken. It's her toes. She had
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: web toes. That is what it is. I thought it
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: was her second one was longer and longer than the
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: first on.
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: Your which mind, which mine is, which is a very
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: normal thing. And I was like, well right, that's what
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: I was thinking of. Yeah, it calls her a freak
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: and stuff that.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: I'm sorry, dare you? How dam?
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: I did love the scene where and it's it's dumb,
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: it's just funny.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: But the really slow garage door opening, She's like, so.
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: Great, have a flying saucer, but you couldn't get a
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: faster garage.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't tell if it was
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: if it was, I'm sure they tried it both way.
- 1:34:33Speaker 4: I couldn't tell if it was funnier to comment on
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: it or not comment on it, because I was like,
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: I think it'll be funny either way. But it's like
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: if they don't say anything, that's funny. Also, I think
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: everything mister terrific says is super cool?
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Agree and what man? I I don't remember what exactly
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: the dad says, but I have that to what's his line?
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: Your choices, your choices, Clark, your actions, that's what makes
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: you who you are. I'll tell you something, I couldn't
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: be more proud of you. And then I think earlier
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: he's like, i'd say what you wanted that message to
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: mean says a whole lot more about you than what
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: they intended it. See.
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: He also says the parents don't get to choose who
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: their children are. We give them the tools to become
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: who they want.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Really great, I don't think he says, we give you
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: the tools so you can make fools of yourselves all
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: in your own or something too in there, which is
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: you know, it just felt very midwestern like, but I
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: do too serious. But I do think it was a
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: nice I do think it was a nice way to
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: because you know, all the dads in the previous movies
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: have had some great lines. Obviously Costner had some really
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: great ones, like you got to decide what kind of
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: man you want to be.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: But I think the word choices is really powerful word.
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: Your choice is in your actions specifically, is such a
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: great way to say that. You know, not not because
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: costners like you have to decide what kind of man
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: you want to be and whatever and blah blah blah,
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: but your choices and your actions. That's I just think
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: that's a great way to write that.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that's wonderful. Also loved when they're talking about the vow.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: I think they're in the Hall of Justice or something
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: at this point when he's like, Oh, that's part of
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: the vow, and then I think it's hot girls, Like
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: every time there's something he doesn't want to do, he
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: says it's against his valve, like the Lantern's vow. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: so great. I love that so much. Yeah, Nathan Fillian, man,
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: it's so funny. God, he's so good. I think those
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: were all the ones I wrote down. Yeah, it's good.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: Oh dude, you have a secret harem. I did like
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: the Hall. I'll tell you what.
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: Never in a many years when I think the word
- 1:37:01Speaker 4: harem would be thrown out in this movie, like a
- 1:37:04Speaker 4: twenty times.
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: So many times I didn't even understand it. First. I
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: was like, what the what are they talking about?
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: And then I was like, oh, like so he can
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: reproduce kryptonia.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: Ye, he needs to propagate the earth. You know. Yeah,
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: that's so weird, I said.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: I know, we already talked about that choice, but that's
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: pretty interesting, interesting thing to a bull. Move cotton, see
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: if it pays off for him, and tell you what, Well,
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: let's keep moving. Let's do the crying game only nugs
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: boohoo moments.
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: I wrote down four, but Benny brought up another one,
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: so maybe five, but these are the four I came
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: up with. When four dies and says not protect Superman,
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: I'm sorry friend.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: Yeah, made me think of Alfa. I failed you, I
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: failed you.
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: Michael Kane just blubber blubbering all through rises so great.
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: Oka when Lex Luthor kills his buddy, was it, Molly Molly?
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: Yeah? That scene?
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: Yeah, when Pa says he couldn't be more proud of.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: Him, Yeah, I got me good.
- 1:38:26Speaker 3: And when he says he wants to watch his parents
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: and it's not it's not his old human parents from cave.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: That I think The other one is is what he
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: was like, it's just a dog. I gotta, I gotta.
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: That scene really hit me. I don't know why, because
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: again I was like, he doesn't even like this dog.
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: He's just like, he's just a dog.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: He didn't Yeah, he's probably scared, totally right, because he
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: says he's out there, he's probably scared. And then he's like,
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: I love you, and he says I love you. Yeah,
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: that was just so great? Is that all? I probably
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: should have said it a long time ago. I do
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: I have more, many more? I have five more. I
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: saw it twice. I did see it twice. Metamor Metamorpho
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: with his son? Is that what the baby? No, no one?
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: When when oh it's only four more? When when the
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: list helps him get up? No, that didn't get me.
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: It is why don't I just tell you the name
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: of the movie? I want to see? Uh just everything
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: at his parents house, like when he goes there to
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: just be cared for. I just loved that whole thing, basically,
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: especially dad stuff now just kills me. You know obviously, well, no, bro,
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: it kills me. I can't even imagine you think, jeez,
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: when he sees uh oh no, this is see this
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: is the problem with doing it on two separate things.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: I had the end of it again, the kid putting
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: up the Superman flag. I know that is like a
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: kind of a cheesy moment. But I did love that.
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: I thought it was great. I loved it too. That
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: kid holding the pole and saying Superman the trailer made
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: me love it so much. And then the Justice Gang
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: showing up at that battle, I thought was wonderful, little
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: hype TIERI action, but it was funny. Okay. I was
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: gonna say, yeah, but it's but I understand what you're saying,
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: because you know, it's nice when hot girl sees it
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: on the TV. Yes, she sees the flag and she's
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: like because you know, they're like, they're not like World Protectors.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: They're straight up, they're just like mercenaries more or less
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Lord Corporation. And I think it's like kind of Metropolis specific.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: You know, they're not like him where they're just like,
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: you know, they're just lounging around like yeah, so yeah,
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: I mean, I'm with you when they show up. It
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: is kind of like a kind that found family stuff.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: Like we said to wait is one when he when
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: he catches the building and then the car drives away
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: and he rises up from the dust. I thought that
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: would get me. Honestly, that could be a hype teer. Yeah,
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: those were all of them. I've said all of them now. Sorry,
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: I had it. I had some that work doubled up
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: because I saw it multiple times and didn't. I like.
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: I like this term hype tears because a lot of I.
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Get this a lot in movies, just when I think, like,
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: just like the movie making are awesome.
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, absolutely yeah. So I think seven seven six
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: I said it. I said it in the True Lies
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: Pod eight True Lies. I said it.
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: I always cry hanging out of the helicopter just because
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: I was so sick.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: This is his This is as cool as movies get.
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: I love that. I love it. I love it.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: So just a just a hot eight hot eight, hot eight,
- 1:42:10Speaker 5: hot eight, double what I thought, double Gary, Okay, let's
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: do some movie trivia here because he was four guys.
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: James Gunn tweeted that the death of his father was
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: an influence on the screenplay, which I knew before, but
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: I didn't realize the film's release date was his father's birthday.
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: So that's so sweet. I'll make you want to die
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: there or did it just happy? I don't know. It
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: didn't stay here. I assume it was like he had
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: they were throwing dates around. He was like, well, it
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: actually would be kind of perfect maybe, you know.
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: The eleventh was it was a Friday, so yeah, that's weird, Yeah,
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: but pretty wild.
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: I thought that was that was nice. We Will Reeves
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: makes a cameo in the movie uh oh yeah, The
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: Sun of course, and it was first reported in July
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: of twenty twenty four by the Cleveland's local newspaper. Yeah,
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: I think that's it. He's just the youngest son of
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: Christopher Reeve and he was only three years old when
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: his when his dad got in the accident that left
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: him paralyzed and stuff. So I bet that was fun
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: for him to get to be a part of it,
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: you know, this lineage that's kind of neat, like that's cool,
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: and he does he was a correspondent on a TV
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: news thing and that's what he does in real life.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: So I just thought that was kind of a cool,
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: like an easy way to get him in there, which
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: is fun. Right. This is the seventh time Nathan Fillion
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: has been a part of the film directed by James Gunn,
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: So I thought that was neat. And they're like very
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: neat real life friends, I guess, and have been for
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: a long time. Yeah. The seventh it doesn't. Sometimes they
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: list them. This one didn't, unfortunately, but Corn Sweat learned
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: that he'd landed the role while filming Twisters, So I
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: bet that was a good day on set for him,
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: A great down set. Enjoy this piece of cake. It's
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: the last one you're ever allowed to have. U. Yeah,
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: have to start lifting.
- 1:44:12Speaker 4: I don't know, man, I think I think actually it
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: probably was like, well, no, now, you need to eat
- 1:44:16Speaker 4: like six sies.
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: A day somewhere. Gained forty pounds of muscle for this, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: so yeah, he had to bulk up for sure. Oh
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: it's actually right here. Uh so, yeah, he gained forty
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: pounds of muscle prior to filming. He's six', four but
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: they wanted him to be, heavier so we went up
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: to two hundred and forty. Pounds superman is supposed to
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: be Six, yeah so maybe he got down to twenty
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: five you know. AFTER i don't. Know that's huge, though that's. Crazy.
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: Uh this is the First superman film Since superman returns
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: to Utilize John williams main theme From, superman And James
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: gun sighted the theme as one of the greatest film
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: scores of all, time WHICH i think is just basically
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: an unassailable take at this, Point like it's just. Right you,
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: know the fact the fact That John williams in like
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: a four year span Did, Superman Star wars And indiana
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: joaniculous and And John, yeah from like seventy eight to
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: like eighty two he Did, Superman, Jaws Indiana Jones e T,
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: yeah that's. Unbelievable, also you want to talk hype. TEARS
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: i went and saw The Minnesota orchestra Dud John williams
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: two and when they Played, SUPERMAN i LIKE i lost.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: IT i was just, like this is the best thing
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: of all. Time it was. Incredible it was so. Fun
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: but to our earlier, CONVERSATION i do wish they would
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: we could have we could have done a little little
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: more with the The, scorrier even like the credits would
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: have been great for, me you, know just for. IT
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: i don't, know BUT i get, it and who. Knows
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: there's probably good. WAY i think it's the crab we need.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: Debut there's a bunch of people listed that were associated
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: with the character and the franchise that were on the
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: locale maps that were within the news, Station so that was.
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: Cool it's Like George Reeve Chris reeve a bunch of other,
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: people which is. Fun So crypto's presence in the film
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: was first really revealed In october of twenty four By
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: gun via social media to Commemorate adopt A Shelter Dog
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: month and for his first live action appearance in the.
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: Film crypto was based On gun's own rescue, Dog, ozu
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: whose likeness was used as inspiration and the basis for
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: the THREE d. Model SO i just thought that was
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: kind of. Fun and he's Apparently crypto is traditionally a
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: White labrador showpard in the, comics but Uh ozoo is
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: more of a scruffy or smaller, breed and so that's
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: why we got to. This and they just made him. White, yeah,
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: yeah which is kind of. Fun so, oh that's kind
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: Of that was all the TRIVIA i, Had, Rob did
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: you have Any? YEAH i had some folks that were.

- 1:48:47Speaker 3: who this guy was that's her husband trying To she
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: didn't she didn't love that part of her character that

- 1:51:49Speaker 3: any other any other, Trivia benny that you found.
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: Not?
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: Really uh? Fair? Now that was pretty much. All Uh,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: well there'd be a sequel judgment, day a lot of
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: them of. Them there's gonna be a bud whole. Universe
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: that party.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: Thing THAT i didn't love was that the after credits
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: scene didn't do anything to push.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: That like if we're gonna do The marvel thing and
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: we're gonna, like let's just show. Kind BUT i will
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: SAY i will say, That i'm, like at Least i'd
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: Rather i'd rather you just didn't do The marvel, thing
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: but You but at least now it's like we've set
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: the precedent like if you want to, stay we'll give
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: you a little fun, thing but we're not going to
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: make you stay because it's not gonna like push the.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Story you.
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: Know it's LIKE i don't want them to Copy marvel.
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: EITHER i, mean you, KNOW i think if you want
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: to do something that advances the, story you do it after,
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: that after the first fun, credits before you get to
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: the real. One and then it's, like, yo if you
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: want to stay for the whole, credits we'll give you
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: an extra little fun. Thing but it's that's what they,
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: did which is WHICH i like that, though because it
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: doesn't put pressure on the. Audience it's like you can
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: stay if you want to see but it's not you
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: don't need to see, it, Right like we're not going
- 1:53:17Speaker 4: to force you to sit through the.
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: CREDITS i know that every person in my theater stayed
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: Because i'm assuming they were, like, well this is going
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: to be we have to.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: Stay, sure you, know BUT i think it's.
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: Implied but THEN i BUT i but, again that's WHY
- 1:53:34Speaker 4: i think it's like a nice little precedent to, say
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: because it's, like we're not going to Be. Marvel we're
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: not going to drop some crazy info at the. End
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: sure you can stay if you, Want we're going to
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: do a little fun, thing but you can watch it
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: on YouTube later, also.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: Right, yeah because, DUDE i could not believe how many
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: people helped with the.
