Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers came out when the United States was debating and then invading Iraq over supposed WMDs and it was this climate that influenced some of the aspects of this film. In addition, Vigo Mortensen was very much opposed to the US illegal invasion of Iraq and we love him for it. Hungry Rye is back to bring into focus the geopolitical aspects happening when this film came out and how important this film really is to the trilogy.
