• 0:46
  Speaker 1: Thank you.
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: Thank you.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: I'm blessed to have you here because, as the people who watch and listen to me know, I call myself rightly a baby Christian.
• 0:56
Speaker 1: I think I will live and die as a baby Christian.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: I started late in life to just answer this calling to faith and to God and to respond to His call on my life.
• 1:12
Speaker 1: And now I'm playing this big fat game of catch up are going to give me some information and our viewers and listeners some lessons and ways to, I guess I want to say, learn better if that makes any sense.
• 1:34
Speaker 1: So tell me, let's start right with the title from Babe Through Full Maturity.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: What does that mean?
• 1:41
Speaker 2: It means, from the moment that you accept Christ, you are a babe in Christ, according to the word, and in order to mature, you must learn about what it is that you've received, learn about God and his word and what is expected of you and what your capabilities are.
• 1:59
Speaker 2: What does this born again thing mean?
• 2:02
Speaker 2: You know, you said something that is very striking.
• 2:06
Speaker 2: You said you are a babe in Christ and you're under the impression that it's going to take you a while to get to where you need to be.
• 2:13
Speaker 2: Let me say this Ninety nine percent this is a very bold statement.
• 2:18
Speaker 2: Ninety nine percent of Christians, people who call themselves Christians, live their entire lives and never make it out of the babe in Christ state.
• 2:27
Speaker 2: There is a reason for that.
• 2:29
  Speaker 2: Unfortunately.
• 2:30
Speaker 2: There's a very unfortunate reason for that, but the way to overcome that is just to know the truth, and unfortunately, this particular basic truth is not being taught.
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right.
• 2:48
Speaker 1: You know, and I think maybe what happens is we, as baby Christians, we get so overwhelmed and we don't quite know where to start.
• 3:00
Speaker 1: Do you start, literally, at the beginning of the Bible, Do you start with Genesis or do you start with the New Testament?
• 3:07
Speaker 1: You hear what I'm saying?
• 3:09
Speaker 1: There's so many or or or and I think so many of us, myself included, need somebody to sit us down, virtually literally, whatever the case is, and say here's where you start.
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 3:23
Speaker 2: One of the questions in my book at the very beginning is a question that I am aware that I, as well as many other Christians, ask where do I start?
• 3:36
Speaker 2: Well, my book answers that question, because in the Bible, you can learn, we can learn from anything in the Bible.
• 3:44
Speaker 2: That's plenty to learn, but the entire Bible was not addressed directly to us, for instance, genesis.
• 3:52
Speaker 2: There's nothing in Genesis regarding being born again.
• 3:56
Speaker 2: There's information that we can learn to find out, to learn about God and his word and the historical functioning between his, the way he interacted with humans, with mankind.
• 4:13
Speaker 2: You can learn much about that.
• 4:15
Speaker 2: You can learn about his nature and things of that, of that course, but that does not help us, for the most part, to know what it is we're supposed to do as babes in christ.
• 4:28
Speaker 2: Well, as babes in christ, we are given doctrine, in fact.
• 4:31
Speaker 2: In fact, this is where we would start.
• 4:34
Speaker 2: Where is it in the word that we learn how to become a christian?
• 4:39
  Speaker 2: That's a very good question.
• 4:41
Speaker 2: The answer is romans.
• 4:44
Speaker 2: This is where we learn to become a Christian.
• 4:47
Speaker 2: Some might say well, you learn in gospel.
• 4:49
Speaker 2: No, no, you don't.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: There is no one born again in the gospels.
• 4:52
Speaker 2: It wasn't available to be born again in the gospels.
• 4:55
Speaker 2: It wasn't available until the day of Pentecost, which is in Acts, which is literally a documentary of the events that the apostles went through.
• 5:05
Speaker 2: The Acts of the Apostles is the name of that particular documentary, but the first book of doctrine to the believer is the book of Romans.
• 5:16
Speaker 2: I'm talking about the Gentile believers, because there are two processes that we find in the New Testament.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: There are two processes that we find in the New Testament.
• 5:23
Speaker 2: One is to Israel.
• 5:25
Speaker 2: One process is to Israel.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: The other process is to the Gentiles.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: As we know, paul's ministry was to the Gentiles.
• 5:34
Speaker 2: His ministry was not to Israel, although he did write, for instance, hebrews to Israel, but his ministry was not to Israel.
• 5:43
Speaker 2: That was the job of the other apostles.
• 5:47
Speaker 2: So you will find, however, the purpose of all scriptures for doctrine, reproof and correction, which is instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished or throughly furnished unto all good works.
• 6:02
Speaker 2: In other words, we're to have through the furnace unto all good works.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: In other words, we're to have, by learning scripture, understanding scripture, we're supposed to be fully equipped to do everything that God expects of us.
• 6:13
Speaker 2: But if we're not taught those things, if we're not taught that Romans, through Thessalonians, fall into the categories of doctrine reproof, correction doctrine, reproof, correction Doctrine, reproof, correction Doctrine.
• 6:27
Speaker 2: If we're not taught that we go into those epistles not really knowing what to expect, even though we see who they're addressed to.
• 6:35
Speaker 2: I could go on, but I'm going to allow you to moderate this.
• 6:41
Speaker 1: Well, it's just so fascinating to me, as you're saying this, it's just so fascinating to me, Like you know, as you're saying this, it's making me think of, like all the challenges that we as whether you're a baby Christian, as I call myself, or a seasoned Christian, as I've heard the term used, you know, I feel like we just there's so many different challenges we face, Like in your opinion, like what is the?
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 7:08
Speaker 1: I guess that the.
• 7:09
Speaker 1: If there's a foundation of our challenges, would you say, it's that that we just simply don't understand these aspects of these lessons of the Bible, or is it something external?
• 7:25
Speaker 1: What are we facing right now?
• 7:27
Speaker 1: That's probably like our biggest challenge or obstacle as Christians.
• 7:31
Speaker 2: The biggest problem is our leaders do not recognize Romans as the foundational truth for our beliefs.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: If you don't, let me ask you this let's say you have a child who's reached the age of six, ready, ready to start school, right?
• 7:48
Speaker 2: So you enroll that child in school in first grade.
• 7:52
Speaker 2: You leave him or her there for one month and then you switch them to the sixth grade for one month, then the third grade for one month, then the fifth grade for one month, second grade for one month, fourth grade for one month, and that is the pattern.
• 8:13
Speaker 2: What do you think the outcome of that child's mentality would be?
• 8:18
Speaker 1: Mm-hmm, yeah, absolutely Totally confused.
• 8:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, completely confused Right.
• 8:22
Speaker 2: Because the foundation, they will not grasp the foundation.
• 8:25
Speaker 2: But this is exactly what happens to us when we go to church.
• 8:28
Speaker 2: We're dragged all over the place from one place to another and we're not taught that Romans is doctrine, the first book of doctrine.
• 8:38
Speaker 2: We're not taught that Corinthians is the book of reproof Back to the doctrine of Romans.
• 8:44
Speaker 2: We're not taught that Galatians is correction back to the doctrine of Romans.
• 8:46
Speaker 2: We're not taught that Galatians is correction back to the doctrine of Romans.
• 8:49
Speaker 2: There are things going on in those epistles that Paul has to deal with to direct them back to Romans.
• 8:55
Speaker 2: And unless we, as believers born again, believers bathed in Christ, if we do not master the basic foundational doctrine of Romans, it is impossible for us to grasp the principles of Ephesians.
• 9:11
Speaker 2: It's not just challenging or just difficult, it is impossible because you cannot go into.
• 9:18
Speaker 2: Paul even called Corinthians milk.
• 9:23
Speaker 2: He wanted to be able to give them the meat of the word, but they were still getting the milk.
• 9:28
Speaker 2: That's all he could give them because they had not matured to the level of understanding and spiritual growth, whereas he could be able to give them a higher learning.
• 9:39
Speaker 2: But Ephesians is that second stage of growth.
• 9:43
Speaker 2: But Ephesians is that second stage of growth.
• 9:46
Speaker 2: You cannot go into the second stage of growth, of spiritual development, without mastering the first Doesn't mean that you're going to be perfect, but it does mean that you have a very strong grasp of the principles of the doctrine, of the foundational doctrine.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess I kind of always feel like you know in my personal journey.
• 10:06
Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, taking this Bible in my hands and understanding like this is what to learn, but I don't know how to learn and I feel like what you're doing with your book and everything that you're saying now is kind of teaching.
• 10:26
Speaker 1: You know, telling the reader how to learn, and that's something that I personally have been, you know, craving to, because everybody has an opinion right, everybody will tell you everybody has a different perspective.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: They'll tell you oh well, start right from the beginning and read.
• 10:41
Speaker 1: You know, read straight through, or start here or start there, and you know, and what you're saying to me is making so much sense because you know we're the Old Testament was written for a very specific group and I'll echo right and I'll echo what you said.
• 10:59
Speaker 1: That that you know, of course it's.
• 11:00
Speaker 1: It's great to read and great to learn that history.
• 11:04
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 11:06
Speaker 1: But we also should be learning what's applicable to us and how to use it in our life, right, well said, well said.
• 11:14
Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you.
• 11:15
Speaker 1: Ok, good, that makes me feel better because I want to make sure that I'm that I'm understanding and following what you said, because I I get.
• 11:21
Speaker 1: I turn into that student that hates getting tested and I'm afraid of giving the wrong answer.
• 11:29
Speaker 1: So I appreciate you gently walking me through this, and I know anybody watching and listening appreciates that too.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: Now I'm going to read this question to you, because I made it a little bit more long-winded than I probably should have, so bear with me.
• 11:44
Speaker 1: So you draw heavily on books like Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians to craft your roadmap.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: Basically, Could you share a specific teaching or concept from one of these letters that you find especially pivotal in guiding spiritual transformation, maybe like one that believers like me commonly misunderstand, because I feel like I misunderstand a lot of things and I go for a correction.
• 12:11
Speaker 2: I'm so glad you asked that question.
• 12:13
Speaker 2: I'm going to deal with Romans.
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 12:17
Speaker 2: Let me outline Romans for you.
• 12:19
  Speaker 1: Please.
• 12:33
Speaker 2: The first nine chapters of Romans is Paul is telling us how much God loved us, even when we were just filthy and totally unworthy.
• 12:36
Speaker 2: I mean, we're never going to be worthy of God's love, except when he makes us so.
• 12:39
Speaker 2: The first nine chapters is he's telling us God's love for us.
• 12:45
Speaker 2: Even when we were in our departed, separated life from him, he loved us.
• 12:52
Speaker 2: Chapter 10 tells us our response to that love, because God has loved us so much.
• 13:02
Speaker 2: Our response is Romans 10, 9.
• 13:06
Speaker 2: If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God is raising from the dead, thou shalt be saved, and so on and so on.
• 13:15
Speaker 2: That is our response to the first nine chapters.
• 13:20
Speaker 2: Then we get to chapter 12.
• 13:23
Speaker 2: Understand, god didn't put these chapter headings there.
• 13:27
Speaker 2: This is a letter.
• 13:27
Speaker 2: So we get to chapter 12.
• 13:29
Speaker 2: The only way to live life according to that decision that we just made, the only way to be successful according to that decision of Romans 10, 9, is Romans 12, 1 and 2.
• 13:45
Speaker 2: I beseech you, my brethren, by the mercies of God, that you will present yourself your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
• 14:06
Speaker 2: He just told us in one of the earlier verses that.
• 14:09
Speaker 2: So then, with the body, I serve the elements of death or the elements of sin, but with the mind, I serve the law of God.
• 14:21
Speaker 2: I serve the law of God.
• 14:28
Speaker 2: So the only way to be transformed into what God has made us inside is to renew our minds to the word that tells us about what he made us so as and according to Jesus.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: If you plant a seed and should I say, the kingdom of heaven is like a man sowing a seed he sleeps day and he plant sows a seed, and he sleeps day and night and the crop grows.
• 14:46
Speaker 2: He knows not how.
• 14:47
Speaker 2: And those words are the words that we get.
• 14:51
Speaker 2: When we get our word automatically, it happens automatically.
• 14:55
Speaker 2: If we put the word on in our minds and bury it in our heart on fertile ground in other words, we make it our own then we grow automatically.
• 15:08
Speaker 2: That's the way the word works.
• 15:09
Speaker 2: It's a seed, it becomes a part of us, we become a part of it.
• 15:14
Speaker 2: So if we do not, however, if we do not do that step three, which is chapter 12, we will not live according to that growth pattern that God has for us.
• 15:32
Speaker 2: So it's like steps one, two and three.
• 15:35
Speaker 2: First we accept, we hear about the love of God, we respond to it, and then we commit our bodies a living sacrifice and we renew our minds to the word so that we can be transformed.
• 15:50
Speaker 2: It really is that simple.
• 15:53
Speaker 2: Should I say it is that clear.
• 15:55
Speaker 2: It's not necessarily easy.
• 15:57
Speaker 1: I like that clarification.
• 15:59
Speaker 1: The information is that simple.
• 16:01
Speaker 2: It doesn't mean the task is easy, because as long as we're fighting the desires of the flesh, it's tough.
• 16:07
Speaker 2: But God made us so that we can overcome those desires because we have Christ in us.
• 16:14
Speaker 1: You're just making my heart so happy, because this is exactly and I know I'm not alone in this.
• 16:19
Speaker 1: I know so many people that are going to watch and listen to this or, I believe, are going to feel the same way.
• 16:24
Speaker 1: You know so many people that are going to watch and listen to this are, I believe, are going to feel the same way.
• 16:25
Speaker 1: Like this gives such clarity there's that word again.
• 16:28
Speaker 1: There's the clarity of the how, the how to learn, how to apply, how to relate.
• 16:35
Speaker 1: And I have to say I was especially, like, happy when you quoted be not conformed.
• 16:42
Speaker 1: That verse means so much to me because I feel like that's one I engrave on my heart and repeat to myself so many times.
• 16:52
Speaker 1: Most of my well, almost all of my work life is built around an online presence and there's so much inundation of opinions and thoughts and things and stuff and things, and you know, it's so easy to be, I don't know, swayed or yeah, I guess swayed by the world, and that is always to me the reminder to be not conformed and to be transformed.
• 17:23
Speaker 1: And so I just wanted to sneak that in there very quickly that it just made my heart so happy when I heard you say that.
• 17:31
Speaker 1: It's absolutely one of my favorites.
• 17:34
Speaker 2: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and it's profitable for doctrine, reproof and correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished or throughly furnished unto all good works.
• 17:46
Speaker 2: I just remembered it as you were talking.
• 17:48
  Speaker 1: I love it.
• 17:49
Speaker 2: However, I'd like to offer you some relief.
• 17:51
Speaker 2: If you understand those steps, if you understand Romans, the foundational aspects of Romans, foundational principles, if you get those steps, you absolutely will grow.
• 18:11
Speaker 2: There's no way you can stop it.
• 18:13
Speaker 2: If you actually go according to those steps, you will grow, and you will probably grow in a way that you never thought you would.
• 18:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, do you think you know I know I do it myself and I would imagine others do it as well in our Christian walk and that we kind of beat ourselves up?
• 18:37
Speaker 1: Like I know I do it, I beat myself up for not knowing enough, not knowing more, not knowing fast enough, not being able to recite as much scripture as I would love to be able to, and all those things?
• 18:49
Speaker 1: Do you think we're too hard on ourselves on that, or do you think we should be kind of harder on ourselves and like push harder?
• 18:56
Speaker 2: For the most part, we're too hard on ourselves, yeah, so in that, in that respect, let me tell you the problem we don't know because we haven't been taught.
• 19:09
Speaker 2: I developed something shortly after I left home.
• 19:19
Speaker 2: After I graduated high school, I had a to some degree.
• 19:21
Speaker 2: I had a blessed childhood and to another degree, I had a pretty tough childhood, but I decided I just turned 18, I joined the military.
• 19:32
Speaker 2: I decided you know what?
• 19:33
Speaker 2: Whatever decisions were made for my life while I was growing up, I have no responsibility in that those were decisions that were made by others regarding my life.
• 19:48
Speaker 2: But, going forward, the decisions for my life I will make.
• 19:53
Speaker 2: I can't blame anyone else, nor do I hold them responsible, because they didn't know.
• 19:58
Speaker 2: They were bumbling along like most of us.
• 20:03
Speaker 2: However, regarding the word and clarity of the word, it is available to know.
• 20:10
Speaker 2: However, you have to sift through so much junk because our spiritual leaders simply don't know the word.
• 20:19
Speaker 2: The majority of our spiritual leaders know what they know from parroting others rather than knowing understanding the word themselves.
• 20:28
Speaker 2: Because I can tell you, even though there are Bibles that have the doctrine reproof correction right before the epistles, for instance, I have a companion Bible.
• 20:41
Speaker 2: It has it written in there.
• 20:42
Speaker 2: But it has it written in there for Romans through Thessalonians.
• 20:47
Speaker 2: But the process is exactly the same for Israel.
• 20:51
Speaker 2: There's doctrine, reproof, correction.
• 20:52
Speaker 2: It doesn't have it there and I didn't recognize that when I started writing the book.
• 20:59
Speaker 2: There are a lot of things I learned by revelation as I was writing the book and I guarantee let's put it this way If you read my book, if you read my book, I guarantee you you will have a clarity of the overall entire, the overall New Testament that you, like you never thought you would, and you would have that clarity in just the length of time it takes to read the book it's less than 100 pages.
• 21:26
Speaker 2: In just the length of time it takes to read the book.
• 21:27
Speaker 2: It's less than 100 pages but it's going to entice you into other aspects of the word because now you have an idea of what you're looking at.
• 21:40
Speaker 2: You will understand the entire New Testament in a way that you never thought you would.
• 21:47
Speaker 1: That is so profoundly helpful and it's so exciting to me because I and it's probably like an issue of the times that you know I want all the information fast and I want all of like immediate, like I always joke that if I could just plug a USB port into my head and just download information into it really fast, I would be so happy.
• 22:12
Speaker 1: So but this is like a kind of you know, normal version of doing that and I love that you wrote this book.
• 22:21
Speaker 1: Tell me, if you don't mind, tell me a little bit about that process, like what did something specific happen to inspire you to write this book?
• 22:30
Speaker 1: And just tell me a little bit about that book writing process.
• 22:33
Speaker 2: It's pretty simple actually.
• 22:34
Speaker 2: I experienced it throughout my lifetime.
• 22:37
Speaker 2: This specific that you were referring to, bottom line, is, it's simple, what I saw in the Bible, what I see in the book of Acts, what I see throughout the word of God, I simply didn't see in real life.
• 22:51
Speaker 2: By the time I was 30 years old, I had a heart to heart talk with God.
• 22:55
  Speaker 2: I mean, I knew it was a heart to heart because I was kind of cringing when I said it, because I was just being honest and I knew I couldn't, I couldn't, I couldn't, I couldn't shock him, I can't, I couldn't throw him off.
• 23:08
Speaker 2: I might as well be honest and I could have chucked him.
• 23:20
Speaker 2: I couldn't throw him off, I might as well be honest.
• 23:21
Speaker 2: And I told him, father, I'm sorry, and I actually apologized in advance.
• 23:23
  Speaker 2: I said, father, I'm sorry, but I have a problem.
• 23:24
Speaker 2: I have a problem that I really need you see in real life.
• 23:27
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 23:27
Speaker 2: You see it once in a great while, here and there, hit and miss.
• 23:30
Speaker 2: And I said and I need to know why, because I refuse to believe that you are not real and that your word is not true.
• 23:43
Speaker 2: And fortunately, in about two weeks, I met someone who introduced me to people who actually taught me the word in a way that I had never dreamed, and they taught me certain principles of understanding Scripture.
• 24:03
Speaker 2: For instance, I'll give you a point Paul's thorn in the flesh.
• 24:08
Speaker 2: I'll give you a point Paul's throwing in the flesh.
• 24:09
Speaker 2: I've heard all my life so many ministers talking about what Paul's throwing in the flesh was, and it went from everywhere, from sickness to blindness to bad eyesight to perversion, all kinds of stuff.
• 24:25
Speaker 2: The way that you understand what that means, you know what.
• 24:30
Speaker 2: It's amazing how the college world and the professional world understand that phrase a thorn in the flesh.
• 24:39
Speaker 2: But when it comes to the Bible, when we apply it to the Word, it's like we lose our mind.
• 24:44
Speaker 2: A thorn in the flesh in sports is someone who has given you a hard time constantly.
• 24:49
  Speaker 2: It's a figure of speech.
• 24:51
Speaker 2: So what you do to understand it is find that particular phrase in the Bible where it was first used, and you will find that every time it's used, god told Israel if you don't go in and destroy these people, they will be thorns in your side and pricks in your eyes.
• 25:13
Speaker 2: In other words, every time you see that phrase it's talking about people.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: Paul didn't have some disability, some physical or mental or perversive thing that he was dealing with.
• 25:26
Speaker 2: He was dealing with people and I can give you details which we don't have time for, as to all the issues that Paul dealt with with the Judaizers, mostly the Judeans, who wanted to live according to the law of Moses.
• 25:40
Speaker 2: Every time Paul would go to a particular city and he preached the gospel, along comes the Judaizers.
• 25:48
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, but you have to acknowledge the law of moses too, and he uh, romans tells you exactly where the law of moses stands compared to the things that christ accomplished on our behalf.
• 26:05
Speaker 2: It was because I didn't see and and and out here, what I saw in the word, and he helped me to understand why, and that started, that basically boosted me onto my journey.
• 26:19
Speaker 1: And I'm so glad that it did, because, in speaking with you and getting the opportunity to watch not only your knowledge but your passion for the subject it's, it's such a joy to to watch and listen to because, like I said, not only do you know what you're talking about, you love what you're talking about and that really comes through.
• 26:43
Speaker 1: It really really does.
• 26:44
  Speaker 2: That's amazing.
• 26:45
  Speaker 2: You're exactly right.
• 26:46
Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you, it really it just I'm watching you, you know it's, I'm laughing at myself actually, because you paused to give me an opportunity and I'm just sitting here like wow.
• 26:57
Speaker 1: That's why I'm sitting here like wow, because it just it conveys so nicely.
• 27:03
Speaker 1: I wanted to kind of vaguely touch on something you kind of sort of said kind of vaguely, or touch on something you kind of sort of said, um, or it made me think of this that uh, we have such a terrible habit uh not just Christians, I mean everybody um of taking biblical truths out of context.
• 27:23
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 27:23
Speaker 2: It's amazing that you could.
• 27:24
Speaker 2: I can't believe that you're going to hit on that.
• 27:28
Speaker 1: Let me show you something I had to and I'm so glad you don't mind, because I feel like I might be segueing a little bit.
• 27:33
Speaker 2: So I hope you don't mind that I do that.
• 27:34
  Speaker 2: That's perfect Good.
• 27:36
Speaker 1: Talk to me a little bit about that please.
• 27:38
Speaker 2: Let me show you something.
• 27:39
Speaker 2: Okay, I can guarantee you the reason we take Scripture out of context.
• 27:44
Speaker 2: Just about every Sunday we go to church.
• 27:47
Speaker 2: We're literally taught to take Scripture out of context.
• 27:52
Speaker 2: Let me give you an example.
• 27:53
  Speaker 2: The minister's reading.
• 27:55
Speaker 2: He said turn with me to such and such Scripture.
• 28:01
Speaker 2: And he reads a couple of verses and he said now, turn with me to such and such.
• 28:09
  Speaker 2: Let's say 2 Peter, 2, verse 14.
• 28:13
Speaker 2: And then he takes you to Timothy, and then he takes you to you understand?
• 28:19
Speaker 1: what I'm saying Bouncing around.
• 28:20
Speaker 1: Yes, You're only getting bits and pieces.
• 28:23
Speaker 2: Now, unless he or she has done the background on that and bringing everything together in the same context, not four or five different contexts, then they'll say well, you know, you don't have to take my word for it, you go home and you read it for yourself.
• 28:43
Speaker 2: You know what the average person is going to do Going to go home, if they're going to read it at all.
• 28:48
Speaker 2: They're going to go home and they're going to read those same exact scriptures, right, and know no more than before they read it.
• 28:57
Speaker 2: They don't know whether or not they read doctrine, reproof or correction.
• 29:02
Speaker 2: They don't know who it was written to.
• 29:06
Speaker 2: For instance, one of the scriptures is 2 Peter.
• 29:08
Speaker 2: 2 Peter is not to me, that's to Israel.
• 29:12
Speaker 2: Now, the principles that process that I mentioned to Israel and the process to the Gentiles is the same and principle is exactly the same With both is doctrine of reproof, correction.
• 29:25
Speaker 2: However, with Israel, the principles are taught from their historic background, historic background.
• 29:34
Speaker 2: If that was taught the same way to the Gentile believers, they wouldn't be able to relate because that was not their history.
• 29:44
  Speaker 1: You understand?
• 29:45
  Speaker 1: Yes.
• 29:55
Speaker 2: So, if we understand, if we understand Dr Reproof's correction, and who is this addressed to?
• 29:57
Speaker 2: We will know as Gentile believers.
• 29:59
Speaker 2: Gentile believers is Romans, through Thessalonians, it is a.
• 30:03
Speaker 2: It is addressed directly to Gentile believers because that was Paul's ministry to the Gentiles, and Hebrews through Hebrews James first, second, peter, first, second, third, john Jude.
• 30:18
  Speaker 2: Revelation that's Israel.
• 30:19
  Speaker 2: That's 1st, 2nd Peter, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, john Jude Revelation that's Israel.
• 30:21
Speaker 2: That's all Israel and they are addressed to Israel.
• 30:27
Speaker 2: Now, if we understand the format, we can understand either process because in principle they are the same, but we need to understand that there are some basic things that we need to know.
• 30:41
Speaker 2: When we approach, we start reading right in the middle of a text.
• 30:46
Speaker 2: If I wrote you a 10 page letter and you started on page seven, do you expect to understand for the most part what it is I'm trying to portray to you?
• 31:01
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 31:01
Speaker 2: We do it all the time.
• 31:02
Speaker 2: Once you know the word, then you have the skill to do that.
• 31:09
Speaker 2: But until you understand chapters one, two, three, four, five, six of any epistle three, four, five, six of any epistle, then there's no point in going to chapter seven, eight or nine, because you don't know what's going on.
• 31:27
Speaker 2: But when we go to church, that's what we get, because every person doesn't read the Bible for the most part, or they don't read the Bible any more than a scripture or two that they were given.
• 31:36
Speaker 2: So we are taught we are literally taught to take the Bible out of context.
• 31:41
Speaker 2: Let me say one more thing, and I'm going to try to slow down.
• 31:46
Speaker 2: When I was a teenager, I was brought up in a particular denomination there's no point in me saying which one.
• 31:51
Speaker 2: I was 15 years old and this particular denomination taught that it was wrong for a woman to wear something clothing pertaining to a man.
• 32:04
Speaker 2: Those are the exact words.
• 32:07
Speaker 2: So I was standing on the church ground one day talking to a friend of mine and I happened to look over and I saw my friend and my sister getting off bicycles.
• 32:20
Speaker 2: They had on dresses.
• 32:21
Speaker 2: I just happened, the timing was just impeccable.
• 32:24
Speaker 2: I happened to look over as my friend was getting off the bike and I felt like, oh, I can't tell you how badly I felt.
• 32:34
Speaker 2: All of a sudden, I under her clothes and all I did was just look over Bottom line.
• 32:40
Speaker 2: She shouldn't have been on a bike with a dress on.
• 32:43
Speaker 2: That's not how, but we were taught that it was wrong.
• 32:48
Speaker 2: So the next day I went to school, went to the library and did some research on clothing back in those days and I realized what the deal was.
• 33:00
  Speaker 2: We would look.
• 33:02
Speaker 2: This is the bottom line.
• 33:03
Speaker 2: Is it a shame for a woman to wear anything pertaining to a man?
• 33:07
Speaker 2: Oh, is it a shame for a man to wear long hair?
• 33:12
Speaker 2: This is in 1 Corinthians, and I had hair down to my shoulder when I was young and I was denigrated for it.
• 33:25
Speaker 2: If they had only read two scriptures not not two chapters or two epistles over two scriptures below that, Paul said but if any man wishes to be contentious, we do not observe such customs.
• 33:42
Speaker 2: Neither does the churches of God.
• 33:44
Speaker 2: In other words, Paul's ministry was to the Gentiles.
• 33:47
Speaker 2: They had customs that Israel didn't have to deal with.
• 33:50
Speaker 2: So when Paul had to deal with them, he had to deal with their customs, because many of their customs violated the principles of the word.
• 33:58
Speaker 2: So, yes, we do read the word out of context frequently.
• 34:04
Speaker 2: We are literally taught to do so.
• 34:06
Speaker 2: We're taught that way from the pulpit.
• 34:09
Speaker 1: That's such a fascinating perspective on it that I hadn't even thought of until you said that.
• 34:15
Speaker 1: I was like, oh yeah, I get that, I get that, and I will give a quick little shout out to our pastor and our church, because this conversation with you is helpful in so many ways, and one of them being that it gives me this sense of relief because all of the things that you're saying are actually things that our pastor does.
• 34:35
Speaker 1: The good parts, the right things, are all things that he does.
• 34:39
Speaker 1: He gives us context and we're actually in well, I don't believe in coincidence, but we are in Romans right now and we're going through Romans.
• 34:47
Speaker 1: So what a timely conversation you and I are having, right, I mean, god is so good, the way that he works and the way that he brings everything together.
• 34:56
Speaker 1: It just blows my mind constantly, and this is another one of those moments as we're sitting and talking, so either correct me or expand on what I'm saying.
• 35:06
Speaker 1: When I think about your book and everything that we've talked about, I feel like describing your book as the foundation to understanding our foundation.
• 35:20
  Speaker 1: Does that?
• 35:22
  Speaker 2: That is sweet.
• 35:23
  Speaker 2: Is that good?
• 35:24
  Speaker 2: Is that good?
• 35:25
  Speaker 2: I feel like that's.
• 35:26
  Speaker 1: Thank you.
• 35:26
Speaker 1: Thank you, because that's really what it is.
• 35:29
Speaker 1: I mean, you're offering up and I want to just say let me see where it is here.
• 35:33
Speaker 1: I have it in here.
• 35:34
  Speaker 1: Oh, the readers.
• 35:38
Speaker 1: I just wanted to let our viewers and listeners know this that many readers say that the book feels like a mentor walking alongside them.
• 35:48
Speaker 1: And I actually had a question for it, but I sidetracked us.
• 35:51
Speaker 1: But was that intentionally your goal or just kind of just happened that just kind of the the holy spirit talking through you?
• 36:00
Speaker 2: you know, elsa, I I was telling my wife last night.
• 36:03
Speaker 2: I just sometimes, wow, almost got emotional on that one.
• 36:09
Speaker 2: Sometimes I feel so burdened when I think about not only do people in droves not know the truth, but they don't want to know, they want to continue in religion, they want to continue in what is comfortable.
• 36:29
Speaker 2: When it's a lie, they don't realize they're not comfortable, they've just acclimated to it.
• 36:36
Speaker 2: If they understood what comfort really was, if they understood what God has actually done inside us, we wouldn't have so many worries, so many stresses.
• 36:49
  Speaker 2: You know what?
• 36:49
  Speaker 2: Check this out.
• 36:51
Speaker 2: The word in Isaiah, I believe.
• 36:52
Speaker 2: It says he was wounded for our transgression, bruised for our iniquities.
• 37:00
Speaker 2: The chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his strife we are healed.
• 37:07
Speaker 2: Now it mentions three things there.
• 37:10
Speaker 2: In other words, when God created man, he made him body, soul and spirit.
• 37:14
Speaker 2: Body, soul and spirit.
• 37:16
Speaker 2: It mentions, it talks about our spiritual wholeness, the bruises and the wounds.
• 37:24
Speaker 2: In other words, he took on what was necessary to guarantee our spiritual wholeness.
• 37:31
Speaker 2: He bore it so we wouldn't have to the mental anxieties and the mental deficiencies and the mental diseases, those things he bore for us, so we wouldn't have to the stripes he took for the healing of our bodies.
• 37:49
Speaker 2: Only thing we talk about is the spiritual aspect of it.
• 38:03
Speaker 2: Why are we so willing to ignore two thirds of what Christ accomplished on our behalf?
• 38:09
Speaker 2: Because he, in other words, he corrected the errors that came about because of Adam.
• 38:17
Speaker 2: Adam was perfect in all his being spiritually, physically and mentally but then that was lost.
• 38:25
Speaker 2: Christ came to correct that.
• 38:28
Speaker 2: He made us whole again, but we don't know it because we're not taught it.
• 38:31
  Speaker 2: I don't get sick, elsa, I simply don't get sick.
• 38:36
Speaker 2: I don't believe in being depressed.
• 38:43
  Speaker 1: I'm with you.
• 38:43
Speaker 2: I'm with you, you're preaching to the choir here.
• 38:45
Speaker 2: It's not because I'm any better than anybody else.
• 38:50
Speaker 2: It's just that I know what the word says regarding this and I apply it to my life.
• 38:52
  Speaker 2: I simply don't get sick.
• 38:54
Speaker 2: I've been in the house with two grandkids my wife, two grandkids and a son.
• 38:59
Speaker 2: They were all sick.
• 39:01
Speaker 2: Now we're breathing the same air.
• 39:03
Speaker 2: My wife and I are sleeping in the same room in the same bed.
• 39:05
  Speaker 2: They're all sick.
• 39:07
  Speaker 1: And.
• 39:08
  Speaker 2: I don't get sick simply because I don't buy it.
• 39:10
Speaker 2: I don't buy what well this is what's going around.
• 39:14
Speaker 2: I know what Jesus did so I wouldn't have to deal with it.
• 39:17
Speaker 2: And once we know the truth of the word and I understand that that was just an example, but all of life is that way Once we understand what God did by putting Christ in us, by giving us his seed and making us his sons his seed and making us his sons, then we realize what he's talking about when he says greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world, that we are overcomers, that we have victory in all things, because the adversary was spoiled.
• 39:55
Speaker 2: I mean, any authority that he had over us was just obliterated, and there's no need for us to be bullied by him.
• 40:03
Speaker 2: If we know who we are, he's afraid of us.
• 40:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, yes, yes, absolutely.
• 40:11
Speaker 1: That was literally the most perfect way to close out.
• 40:15
Speaker 1: You know, it's literally the most perfect way to close out.
• 40:17
Speaker 1: You know, it's literally the most perfect message to kind of wrap up this whole thing.
• 40:22
Speaker 1: And I have to tell you I don't want to wrap this up.
• 40:25
Speaker 1: I want to keep talking all day, but I you know, I know you have a life to get to.
• 40:29
Speaker 1: I understand that Before we do say goodbye here, I would be very remiss.
• 40:36
Speaker 1: Not to mention that there is not only one book out by you, sir.
• 40:40
Speaker 1: There is another book.
• 40:41
Speaker 1: It is called Christian Leadership Honor, reverence and Respect for God in His Word.
• 40:47
Speaker 1: Will you tell everyone where they can find your books?
• 40:50
Speaker 1: And if there's a website, anything else, please let them know and we will put it.
• 40:54
Speaker 1: Guys, it will be in the show notes, don't worry if you miss it for any reason, we will it there for you.
• 40:59
Speaker 1: But where can they find your books?
• 41:00
Speaker 2: it gives you locations.
• 41:01
Speaker 2: One is Clyde Simpson bookscom that is my website, and the other is Amazon.
• 41:09
Speaker 2: When you go to Amazon, you can either google the book or you can google my name, clyde Simpson.
• 41:14
Speaker 2: The books are going to automatically pop up, and they do, because I looked you can buy the book.
• 41:17
Speaker 1: You can buy my name, clyde Simpson.
• 41:17
Speaker 1: The books are going to automatically pop up, and they do, because I looked.
• 41:19
Speaker 2: You can buy the book.
• 41:20
Speaker 2: You can buy the book on either on my website or on Amazon.
• 41:24
Speaker 2: The only difference is, if you buy it on my website, I don't have to share the postings with Amazon.
• 41:28
Speaker 2: If you buy it on Amazon, I have to share 30%.
• 41:32
Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, so you know what the most important thing is that it is bought.
• 41:38
Speaker 2: I don't care if it's never bought on my website, as long as it gets into the hands of the people and they finally understand the word of God in a much better way.
• 41:50
Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, I'm so excited to read this book, Both of those books actually, but I am starting with the first one because, as a babe, as a babe, I well not a babe.
• 41:59
Speaker 1: You know what I mean.
• 42:01
Speaker 2: Which first one are you referring to?
• 42:02
Speaker 1: You know, what I mean.
• 42:03
Speaker 2: I'm sorry, which first one you say?
• 42:05
Speaker 2: Starting with the first one.
• 42:06
  Speaker 1: I started.
• 42:06
Speaker 1: Oh, I well, I should say starting with the second one.
• 42:08
Speaker 1: I like, yeah, thank you.
• 42:09
Speaker 1: Yes, thank you for correcting me on that.
• 42:12
Speaker 2: Let me make a distinction between the two, the way they were written.
• 42:15
Speaker 2: The first book, which is the leadership book, was literally my dissertation from my doctorate program.
• 42:30
Speaker 2: I knew that it would be read by PhDs and doctors.
• 42:31
Speaker 2: However, I had never written a book before, so I just transformed it for the most part, modified it a bit, transformed it into a book.
• 42:37
Speaker 2: Not thinking about the average person is not Some of the terminology used and the words used is just going to turn some people off.
• 42:49
Speaker 2: But the more educated people will get it, it's no big deal for them.
• 42:54
Speaker 2: But the second book, I understood what a miscalculation that I made.
• 43:02
Speaker 2: So the second book a sixth grader can understand.
• 43:06
Speaker 2: I wrote it in such a way that the average person can understand clearly what I'm saying.
• 43:13
  Speaker 1: That's phenomenal.
• 43:15
Speaker 1: I am super excited to read it and uh, and I'm I'm excited for everybody else to to see this interview and and to uh, just to see what you're all about and what these books are all about, and uh, what, what a blessing, what a blessing to have met you and to have had this conversation, so I thank you very much.
• 43:33
Speaker 2: Thank you very much wonderful.
• 43:35
  Speaker 1: All right guys.
• 43:36
Speaker 1: Thank you for watching with us and we will see you in the next episode.
• 43:39
  Speaker 1: Take care.
