Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / Skye Wheatley & Lachy Waugh Call It Quits
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer.
- 0:07Speaker 2: And pop culture news twice a week.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm Kate Torber and coming up on today's show, Ashley
- 0:13Speaker 1: Bynes abruptly cancels her podcast tour and Tammy Hembrough and
- 0:17Speaker 1: the Brownlow snub. But first, after seven years together, Sky
- 0:21Speaker 1: Wheatley and baby daddy Lockie Waugh have called it quits.
- 0:25Speaker 1: The former Big Brother star made the admission during an
- 0:27Speaker 1: Instagram live Now, Soph, Skye appeared to be quite.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Intoxicated throughout the live.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it seemed like she had had quite a bit
- 0:33Speaker 1: to drink when she jumped on the live. She is
- 0:36Speaker 1: currently holidaying at an Airbnb on the Sunshine Coast with
- 0:39Speaker 1: her two kids, Forrest and Bear, and Lockie has been
- 0:42Speaker 1: notably absent from the trip. Now, for weeks, speculation has
- 0:46Speaker 1: been growing that Skye and Lockie are no longer together,
- 0:49Speaker 1: but nothing had been confirmed until now. And these sort
- 0:52Speaker 1: of breakup rumors have plagued the couple for years now.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Often they'll go... often Lockie will be MIA from Sky
- 0:59Speaker 1: Socials and then appear again, and they don't really discuss
- 1:01Speaker 1: what's happened.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I mean, they sort of touched on the fact that
- 1:04Speaker 2: they went on a break a while ago.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I think a lot of the speculation also comes from
- 1:08Speaker 1: the fact that they're very honest.
- 1:10Speaker 2: About their relationship.
- 1:11Speaker 1: They air a lot of their arguments, which they've been
- 1:13Speaker 1: having through their renovation process of their house, which has
- 1:16Speaker 1: been going on for a very long time now. Now,
- 1:19Speaker 1: Sky confirmed the split during this live, and she responded
- 1:22Speaker 1: to a follower who asked if Lockie had cheated on her.
- 1:26Speaker 1: She said, I don't know, maybe. Now, funnily enough, it
- 1:30Speaker 1: was actually her sister Kayla who went into bat for
- 1:33Speaker 1: Lockie in the comment section saying, from a sister's point
- 1:36Speaker 1: of view, looking into their relationship, I don't think Lockie
- 1:39Speaker 1: would cheat. I think we probably have to take Sky's
- 1:42Speaker 1: comment with a grain of salt because As you mentioned, Sophie,
- 1:46Speaker 1: she did appear to be quite intoxicated during the live. So,
- 1:49Speaker 1: you know, she might just be saying, well, who knows?
- 1:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Well, as soon as I heard this news, all I
- 1:54Speaker 1: could think about again was their house because they've been
- 1:57Speaker 1: renovating it for about six years now. It's this rundown
- 2:01Speaker 1: mansion that they got for a really good price and
- 2:04Speaker 1: they seem to be quite close to finishing it now.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It's this incredible property.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I mean, I've been invested for years now in this
- 2:11Speaker 1: process that I'll be really disappointed if they don't finish it. Well,
- 2:14Speaker 1: Sky confirmed in this live that they're both going to
- 2:16Speaker 1: continue with the renovations. I mean, I don't know how
- 2:19Speaker 1: that would work. They need to get a reality TV
- 2:21Speaker 1: crew down there ASAP. Yeah, I was going to say,
- 2:24Speaker 1: as long as she keeps filming the vlogs and includes Lockie,
- 2:27Speaker 1: it should be some entertaining vision. I think her viewership
- 2:30Speaker 1: will go up Lockie has also taken a bit of
- 2:32Speaker 1: swipe at Sky. So on Tuesday, he uploaded a screenshot
- 2:36Speaker 1: of Sky taking part in a TikTok live with two
- 2:38Speaker 1: creators called Wise Gentleman and Ryan J.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Stewart.
- 2:42Speaker 1: The video was captioned, Wise Gentleman and Ryan J. Stewart
- 2:45Speaker 1: chat up Sky Wheatley. And Lockie captioned the story, classic,
- 2:49Speaker 1: doesn't take long, with three laughing face emojis. Some people
- 2:53Speaker 1: think this is his way of confirming the split. But
- 2:56Speaker 1: as someone who has followed Lockie for quite some time now,
- 2:59Speaker 1: I just think it was a joke. Like I think
- 3:01Speaker 1: it's a piss take. Do you remember that whole, was
- 3:03Speaker 1: it sauna and sausages thing?
- 3:04Speaker 2: That was hilarious.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I really hope that if they are broken up that
- 3:08Speaker 1: some good comes from it and he does go a
- 3:10Speaker 1: bit rogue on his socials. Because he was doing that
- 3:13Speaker 1: whilst he was staying at his parents' house. His parents
- 3:15Speaker 1: seemed to be quite wealthy. I'm a big fan of Lockie.
- 3:18Speaker 1: He's an absolute crack up. Despite all of the controversy
- 3:21Speaker 1: Sky has been involved in, I can't help but have
- 3:23Speaker 1: a soft spot for both her and Lockie because they're
- 3:25Speaker 1: just so entertaining. The thing that is quite confusing about
- 3:29Speaker 1: this breakup is that just two weeks ago, Sky was
- 3:32Speaker 1: trying to water down the rumors and avoid answering any questions.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So she put up a Q & A and of course,
- 3:39Speaker 1: everyone kept inundating her with questions about whether she and
- 3:42Speaker 1: Lockie were still together. One follower wrote, but the question
- 3:45Speaker 1: everyone wants to ask, you won't answer, but I do
- 3:48Speaker 1: hope you're okay. And she responded saying, believe it or not,
- 3:52Speaker 1: I actually do have a personal life outside of Instagram
- 3:55Speaker 1: and some things I do keep to myself. Gotten better
- 3:58Speaker 1: at this with age. I'm definitely always an oversharer, but
- 4:02Speaker 1: some things are better left unsaid. But thank you, my love.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I am okay. Some days I'm not, but that's all
- 4:08Speaker 2: part of the journey.
- 4:09Speaker 1: The photo she chose to upload with this answer says,
- 4:13Speaker 1: was a very wholesome shot of her on a swing
- 4:15Speaker 1: with one of her sons. And it was taken from behind.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It was sort of a nonchalant photo, but it looked
- 4:19Speaker 1: like she was thinking about things. Well, the picture paints
- 4:22Speaker 1: a thousand words. And I think we can read between
- 4:24Speaker 1: the lines and she was saying, oh, I've been parenting
- 4:26Speaker 1: by myself.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Well, presumably she received a lot more questions about the
- 4:30Speaker 1: state of their relationship because She finally responded with a
- 4:33Speaker 1: cute family selfie and in it she and Lockie were
- 4:36Speaker 1: pulling funny faces and she wrote, everything you read on
- 4:39Speaker 1: the Daily Mail is always 100% true. They are a
- 4:42Speaker 1: very reputable source, especially when it comes to my life,
- 4:45Speaker 1: with laughing face emojis. She then pointed out, this is sarcasm,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and continued, I can't imagine how actual famous people deal
- 4:52Speaker 1: with all of the online shit that.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Gets written said about them. It's actually wild.
- 4:57Speaker 1: God, I'm scared for my children's future. I've been thinking lately,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I'm so unsure if I want to keep posting them,
- 5:03Speaker 1: but I love sharing my life with you guys. It's
- 5:05Speaker 1: just worrying as a mother. I hope my online presence
- 5:08Speaker 1: doesn't affect my kids. Yeah, that seems to be a
- 5:10Speaker 1: common worry online at the moment. I think these updates
- 5:14Speaker 1: just reflect how turbulent their relationship is though, because they
- 5:18Speaker 1: seem to be a couple that get back together and
- 5:20Speaker 1: then break up and get back together again. It's been
- 5:22Speaker 1: happening throughout their whole relationship. So I wouldn't be surprised
- 5:26Speaker 1: if they do get back together.
- 5:27Speaker 2: In a couple of weeks time. Well, it was actually a.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Post from her good friend, Tori, which got tongues wagging
- 5:33Speaker 1: even further because she uploaded a TikTok appearing to throw
- 5:37Speaker 1: some shade at Lockie. So she wrote, when you're a
- 5:39Speaker 1: girl's girl, so now I've got more beef with her
- 5:42Speaker 1: ex than she ever did.
- 5:44Speaker 2: And then in the.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Caption, she wrote, he really thought he could talk to
- 5:47Speaker 1: her crazy, but forgot her besties from the West and
- 5:50Speaker 1: I don't.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Let shit slide.
- 5:52Speaker 1: She then hashtagged it breakup humor. Now Sky even replied
- 5:56Speaker 1: in the comment section writing, that's my girl.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I mean, that's not a good sign. It was quite.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Confusing though, because Tori also jumped on a live recently
- 6:05Speaker 1: and she said, oh no, Lockie and Sky are still together.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So again, as you say, I think it is just
- 6:10Speaker 1: painting a picture of how turbulent this relationship really is.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I mean, I want what's best for everyone involved, but
- 6:16Speaker 1: I personally hope they get back together. I mean, I'm
- 6:19Speaker 1: still obsessed with that video that they put up of
- 6:21Speaker 1: a McDonald's mukbang at home. And they had this massive
- 6:24Speaker 1: fight over the sweet and sour sauce because it wasn't
- 6:26Speaker 1: put in the bag. And apparently it was like Lockie's
- 6:28Speaker 1: fault because he didn't double check. They always forget the
- 6:31Speaker 1: sweet and sour sauce. I don't know what it is
- 6:33Speaker 1: with that. One thing that made me think perhaps they
- 6:36Speaker 1: weren't endgame is that we've never had a proposal. Even
- 6:39Speaker 1: though Sky had a sponsorship deal with a ring brand
- 6:41Speaker 1: and she kept uploading things potential engagement rings, Lockie has
- 6:45Speaker 1: never got down on one knee. And I wonder if
- 6:47Speaker 1: he was a bit hesitant to do so. But he's
- 6:49Speaker 1: had two children with her. I mean, I would say
- 6:50Speaker 1: that that sort of bonds them for life a lot
- 6:52Speaker 1: more than an engagement ring. Well, and they've got the
- 6:54Speaker 1: house together. But I mean, it's quite interesting to think
- 6:56Speaker 1: that they were only together for a couple of months
- 6:59Speaker 1: when Skye found out she was pregnant with Forrest. Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Do you remember her other boyfriend beforehand, Cam? Oh, he
- 7:04Speaker 2: was a douchebag.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I think Lockie was a definite upgrade. But yeah,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I think they've always seemed to clash a bit.
- 7:11Speaker 4: So no Tammy at the day. Who are you taking?
- 7:14Speaker 3: I'm taking my Jiu-Jitsu coach.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough was a notable absentee from the Brownlow red
- 7:21Speaker 1: carpet on Monday night, despite going Instagram official with AFL.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Player Bailey Smith.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Ever since the couple were papped together in August, rumours
- 7:30Speaker 1: have been swirling that Australia's biggest influencer would steal the show.
- 7:34Speaker 2: At footies night of nights.
- 7:36Speaker 1: However, days leading into the Brownlow, reports emerged that things.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Had cooled off between the pear gate.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Now, of course, those reports coincided with Bailey's team Geelong
- 7:45Speaker 1: getting into the grand final. Reading between the lines, it
- 7:48Speaker 1: seems like Bailey has been advised by his footy club
- 7:51Speaker 1: to squash the relationship with Tammy for now and focus
- 7:54Speaker 1: on football. Or at least appear like he's squashing the things.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And I mean, that all makes sense to me. But
- 8:00Speaker 1: what I found really confusing as a former sports media
- 8:04Speaker 1: manager is why Geelong's media manager... would allow Bailey to
- 8:08Speaker 1: be interviewed before the brown low on the Kyle and.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Jackie O show. Because obviously the focus of the interview
- 8:12Speaker 2: was going to be Tammy.
- 8:14Speaker 1: All that appearance has done is actually create more headlines
- 8:17Speaker 1: and distractions. Yeah, but maybe they saw it as an
- 8:19Speaker 1: opportunity for him to say, hey, I'm not with her.
- 8:22Speaker 1: She's not attending the brown low. Everyone can calm down.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Well, it got me thinking.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Bailey Smith, he is a brand in himself. So he
- 8:30Speaker 1: actually has more Instagram followers than Geelong Football Club. He's
- 8:33Speaker 1: got 403,000 followers while Geelong has 271,000. So I wonder
- 8:39Speaker 1: if he's just too big now for the club. Like
- 8:41Speaker 1: he doesn't have to abide by the club rules and
- 8:43Speaker 1: his manager possibly set this interview up. I don't think
- 8:47Speaker 1: Bailey Smith really gives a fuck what anyone tells him
- 8:50Speaker 1: to do. I think he just does what he wants
- 8:51Speaker 1: to do. But I think it's clear that he has
- 8:53Speaker 1: been told by his coach that he needs to focus
- 8:56Speaker 1: on footy and rein it in a little bit. Now,
- 8:58Speaker 1: we spoke about the interview briefly on Tuesday's show, but
- 9:01Speaker 1: I want to go more into it now that we
- 9:02Speaker 1: have the time, Kate. To refresh everyone's memories, this is
- 9:06Speaker 1: how Bailey broke the news that he wouldn't be taking
- 9:09Speaker 1: Tammy to the Brownlow.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Are you taking Tammy tonight or no?
- 9:14Speaker 3: No, I'm not, no. No, I didn't want to. Bore
- 9:18Speaker 3: her with, you know, footy all night. So, yeah, she's
- 9:22Speaker 3: not a big footy fan. And, no, we're just mates. So, no,
- 9:27Speaker 3: leave her.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So you guys aren't, like, exclusive or boyfriend-girlfriend?
- 9:31Speaker 3: No, we're just mates.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Jackie, it's not 1985, Jackie. No, I love it. Jackie
- 9:36Speaker 4: loves exclusivity. I do. I love relationships.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Bailey went on to say that he was taking his
- 9:43Speaker 1: jiu-jitsu coach, who is one of his best mates.
- 9:45Speaker 2: How random is that?
- 9:47Speaker 1: He also said his mate would be getting blind all
- 9:50Speaker 1: night and was planning on having a big one. My
- 9:54Speaker 1: blood absolutely boiled for Tammy when he kept referring to her.
- 9:57Speaker 2: As a mate. Like what an absolute slap. in the face.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I mean, do you take your mate Sophie to romantic
- 10:03Speaker 1: restaurants and pose for photos with your hand on their knee? Well, no,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I don't really have any male mates that I would
- 10:09Speaker 1: do that with.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and do you make out with them in bars?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Definitely not if Brandon's listening.
- 10:14Speaker 1: So like the whole mate thing, it's like, yeah, okay,
- 10:17Speaker 1: like whatever. Like we're not stupid. I mean, the thing
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think I find most offensive is by putting the
- 10:22Speaker 1: term mate on it, it kind of sounds.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Like fuck buddies.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, or as we touched on on Tuesday's show,
- 10:28Speaker 1: that they were only doing it to make Matt Zukowski
- 10:31Speaker 1: jealous and to get attention. Well, Jackie O was just
- 10:33Speaker 1: as confused as the rest of us and asked Bailey
- 10:35Speaker 1: if he was a relationship type of guy or just
- 10:38Speaker 1: likes to keep things casual. And Bailey admitted he was
- 10:41Speaker 1: a relationship guy up until a year and a half ago,
- 10:45Speaker 1: but said he is now single and enjoying it. He
- 10:47Speaker 1: did concede, though, that he's keen for a missus eventually.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Oh, isn't that such footy speak, a missus? It makes
- 10:53Speaker 2: me feel sick.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate it if my partner ever refers to
- 10:57Speaker 1: me as his missus.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Or the missus. I think that's even more offensive.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, in terms of his relationship timeline, his last
- 11:04Speaker 1: girlfriend was Gemma Dawkins, and they kept their relationship pretty
- 11:08Speaker 1: low key. They didn't post much online together. They attended
- 11:12Speaker 1: the Grand Prix and Derby Day together, but that was
- 11:14Speaker 1: kind of it. Those were the only photos that we
- 11:16Speaker 1: saw of them. So it seems like this is the
- 11:18Speaker 1: relationship that's.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Made him want to be single for a while.
- 11:20Speaker 1: For guys, it's always this one girl that sort of
- 11:23Speaker 1: ruins them for everyone else. They need that time off
- 11:26Speaker 1: to be a dickhead and get over them.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I don't think we should be blaming Gemma. Oh, not
- 11:29Speaker 2: that it's her fault.
- 11:30Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying, but there always seems to be
- 11:32Speaker 1: that one girl that either got away. Or it's an
- 11:34Speaker 1: excuse for them to. I mean, we need to remember
- 11:36Speaker 1: that Bailey Smith is only 24 years old.
- 11:38Speaker 2: That blows my mind.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Mind.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I know.
- 11:40Speaker 2: It freaks me out.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Now, Kyle jumped in after Jackie O's comments and asked
- 11:44Speaker 1: if Bailey's Tinder ambassador role involved going on lots of dates.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And this is what Bailey said.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I go on a few dates. Don't mind that. But yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm out trying to find a missus,
- 11:58Speaker 3: that's for sure. But not actively searching. I just want
- 12:01Speaker 3: to win Saturday and then we'll see how we go.
- 12:04Speaker 4: So priorities.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Now to me, That last bit confirms that this whole
- 12:09Speaker 1: cooling down of the relationship with Tammy is all to
- 12:11Speaker 1: do with footy. And I think it will be back
- 12:13Speaker 1: on with Tammy after the grand final. I don't necessarily
- 12:16Speaker 1: think it is going to be all back on with Tammy.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I think that things were pretty casual and it's just
- 12:22Speaker 1: a rebound for her. See, I think if this was legit,
- 12:25Speaker 1: she might have made a few pot shots online already
- 12:27Speaker 1: about it. So your theory is that they're still dating.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That's why she hasn't been throwing any shade at him
- 12:33Speaker 1: on TikTok because she's like, oh, I better respect that.
- 12:35Speaker 2: This is his work and his profession. I mean, I
- 12:38Speaker 2: think it's clearly that.
- 12:39Speaker 1: We've got to understand how serious a grand final campaign is. Like,
- 12:44Speaker 1: he would have been sat down by his coaching staff
- 12:46Speaker 1: and said, you need to focus on footy. You can't
- 12:48Speaker 1: be going out on all these public dates with Tammy Hembrough,
- 12:50Speaker 1: having paparazzi following you about, posting all this shit on
- 12:54Speaker 1: social media. He has been very brave speaking publicly about
- 12:57Speaker 1: his mental health and how doing his ACL really brought
- 13:00Speaker 1: him to a dark place. And a couple of days ago,
- 13:03Speaker 1: he shared an Instagram post showing his rehab and him
- 13:06Speaker 1: getting back into footy and talking about how huge it
- 13:09Speaker 1: is that he's now playing in a grand final. And,
- 13:12Speaker 1: you know, as you said, Kate, no one can question
- 13:14Speaker 1: how big this is in an AFL player's life. This
- 13:17Speaker 1: isn't Bailey's first grand final. So when he was playing
- 13:19Speaker 1: for the Western Bulldogs, he played in the 2021 grand
- 13:22Speaker 1: final and they lost. So it's probably made him hungrier
- 13:25Speaker 1: for the win this weekend. Getting back to this interview,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it was quite funny because they had callers ring in
- 13:31Speaker 1: with questions and one asked this.
- 13:35Speaker 4: So quick question regarding you and Tammy.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Who reached out to you first?
- 13:41Speaker 4: Did you slide in her inbox on Insta or like
- 13:44Speaker 4: how did it work? See, that's a good question because
- 13:46Speaker 4: a lot of us want to know.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, how'd that come to be?
- 13:49Speaker 4: How'd that box slide?
- 13:52Speaker 3: I knew you were going to go. No, I slid.
- 13:56Speaker 3: In her inbox, yeah. And what did you say?
- 13:59Speaker 1: No, no.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Hey, hey, hey.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Hey, hey.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Come on.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Nah. Nah, nothing.
- 14:05Speaker 4: We don't want him to give away his, you know,
- 14:07Speaker 4: all the gold here.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Were you surprised that he slid into her DMs? It
- 14:12Speaker 2: did surprise me.
- 14:13Speaker 1: But then again, I've got to remind myself that I
- 14:15Speaker 1: don't have the brain of a 24-year-old man.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Or think with your penis. No, because if I heard... that.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Someone I was interested in was going through a divorce,
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'd probably steer clear of them for a couple of
- 14:25Speaker 1: months at least. Doesn't that show his intentions from there?
- 14:28Speaker 1: Like obviously a bit of a rebound. I mean, I
- 14:31Speaker 1: was surprised, but then when I heard him speak more
- 14:34Speaker 1: about his DMs, it sort of made more sense because
- 14:36Speaker 1: he said he doesn't actually look at his DMs and
- 14:38Speaker 1: that he gets so many unsolicited dick pics.
- 14:41Speaker 2: All the time from men.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Wow.
- 14:44Speaker 1: It appears that Bailey and Tammy's ex-husband, Matt Zukowski, have
- 14:48Speaker 1: more things in common than we thought because We have,
- 14:51Speaker 1: of course, learnt now that Bailey does jujitsu and boxing
- 14:55Speaker 1: and he said that he wants to do an MMA fight.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So could we get Matt Zukowski and Bailey Smith in
- 15:00Speaker 1: the ring? Can we host it? We can do a
- 15:03Speaker 1: little podcast live from down there. Wouldn't that be funny?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Oh, my God. It would be excellent. Fighting for Tammy's love. Oh,
- 15:09Speaker 2: my God.
- 15:09Speaker 1: This is very reminiscent of Jordan Simi fighting for Sammy Robinson.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Oh, can you imagine the views on YouTube? This would
- 15:17Speaker 2: earn a lot of money. Lads, if you're listening to
- 15:19Speaker 2: the podcast, reach out. We're happy to organize it.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Now over to Camp Tammy, we have touched on how
- 15:24Speaker 1: she's trying to play it pretty cool. And as though
- 15:27Speaker 1: she doesn't care about this Brownlow snub, even though I
- 15:29Speaker 1: feel like she would be dying inside and slightly embarrassed.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Particularly spending all that time at her sister's skin clinic
- 15:34Speaker 1: leading into the event and.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Dropping that you had this big event on.
- 15:38Speaker 1: And then we've seen no said big event now. Over
- 15:41Speaker 1: the weekend, she holidayed in Byron Bay with her kids
- 15:44Speaker 1: who are on school holidays at the moment. She appeared
- 15:46Speaker 1: to be there with her best friend, Isabel Laws. I
- 15:49Speaker 1: would love to know if this trip was pre-booked or
- 15:53Speaker 1: booked after she got the news.
- 15:54Speaker 2: About the Brownlow. It kind of gave me the vibe.
- 15:56Speaker 1: It's something that you're like, oh my God, I'm so
- 15:58Speaker 1: disappointed that I don't get to go to this event,
- 16:00Speaker 1: that we've got to book something in to make.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Up for it.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Or it was a cover because it's like, I've always
- 16:04Speaker 1: had this trip planned. I was never going to the
- 16:05Speaker 1: Brownlow medal.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that is true. I mean, it's very clever.
- 16:09Speaker 1: As someone who grew up as a footy fan, Whenever
- 16:11Speaker 1: I used to watch the Brownlow as a young girl,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I always used to feel that like, oh, I wish
- 16:15Speaker 1: I could.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Go, like that burning feeling. Imagine actually dating one of
- 16:18Speaker 2: the players and not being invited. Like the absolute burn. Well,
- 16:21Speaker 2: they've only been dating for a few weeks.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I feel like most of the wives and girlfriends have
- 16:26Speaker 1: to be around for potentially a year before getting the invite.
- 16:29Speaker 2: That's usually how these footy guys work.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I feel like the Brownlow is such a difficult event
- 16:34Speaker 1: for footy players to navigate because there'd be so many
- 16:36Speaker 1: of them dating multiple women.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I mean, just look at Travis Boak.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Side note, it's quite interesting because he kind of fits
- 16:43Speaker 1: into this whole space because he is good friends with
- 16:46Speaker 1: Matt Paul. Matt Paul went over.
- 16:48Speaker 2: To Adelaide to watch Travis Boak's last game. I was like,
- 16:50Speaker 2: how do they know each other? Is it through Iron Man? Yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Well, I think Travis is into all of that sort
- 16:56Speaker 1: of stuff, so potentially. But anyway, Travis Spoke is known
- 17:00Speaker 1: for being- Well.
- 17:01Speaker 2: The most eligible bachelor in Adelaide.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I mean, he's a very good looking guy and he
- 17:06Speaker 1: has barely ever taken a date to any of these
- 17:08Speaker 1: footy functions. They always bring their mum and look like
- 17:11Speaker 1: the nice guy. Oh, they've got their mum there, their sister.
- 17:13Speaker 1: It's not because they've been tuning all these other girls
- 17:15Speaker 1: behind the scenes. But then on his final best and
- 17:18Speaker 1: fairest report, he brought his girlfriend.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah. It's kind of like, well, I've hung up the boots.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I'm retired now. Here's my girlfriend.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Before we wrap this up, we have to talk about
- 17:28Speaker 1: what Bailey Smith wore on the red car, but he
- 17:31Speaker 1: was wearing a pair of Speed Dealer Sunnies. I was
- 17:36Speaker 1: almost relieved for Tammy that she didn't have to stand
- 17:39Speaker 1: next to that because it was very embarrassing. It's kind
- 17:42Speaker 1: of that tripe where it seems like young men these days,
- 17:45Speaker 1: and I say that sounding so old at 36, but
- 17:47Speaker 1: It seems like they're trying to make themselves look.
- 17:50Speaker 2: The ugliest as possible. Like I was watching the footage
- 17:52Speaker 2: the other day. I'm like, well, their haircuts look so
- 17:55Speaker 2: fucking stupid. What is with the sideburns? It reminds me
- 17:57Speaker 2: of the Simpsons when. It's lack of sideburns. Well, that's
- 17:59Speaker 2: what I mean. It's like when Mr. Burns is like,
- 18:01Speaker 2: get rid of those sideburns.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Strawberries.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 1: And he gets rid of the whole thing because he's like,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I don't even have any sideburns. I have to say,
- 18:06Speaker 1: I'm not a fan of an all black ensemble. Like
- 18:09Speaker 1: I hated the fact that the shirt was black.
- 18:11Speaker 2: The jacket was black. The tie was black. He's a
- 18:14Speaker 2: very good-looking man.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Like the thing is he still pulled it off. He
- 18:17Speaker 1: had to wear something different, didn't he? It's a whole
- 18:19Speaker 1: Gen Z thing. It was funny because I heard– I
- 18:22Speaker 1: saw these memes where he's like.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Everyone stop talking about me.
- 18:25Speaker 1: The media, get off my back, and then rocks up
- 18:28Speaker 1: with these stupid sunglasses on that's just going to.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Get all his attention.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I mean, also the photos that he was posting beforehand
- 18:34Speaker 1: of him lying on one of the beds at Crown.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Oh, it's just all a bit of a laugh, isn't it?
- 18:39Speaker 1: Did you notice he posed alongside the AFL CEO, Andrew Dillon,
- 18:43Speaker 1: and it was only a few weeks ago that Andrew
- 18:45Speaker 1: Dillon was making cracks at a Geelong event about Tammy
- 18:48Speaker 1: Hembrough coming to the Brownlow.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I've got some new clothes, so let's do a try
- 18:52Speaker 2: on haul.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Ashley Bynes has announced she's expanding her podcast team despite
- 18:58Speaker 1: abruptly cancelling her podcast live tour. The OG fitness influencer
- 19:02Speaker 1: advertised for the position across her social media channels, but
- 19:06Speaker 1: the job description left people shocked. Before we get into that, Kate,
- 19:10Speaker 1: can you tell us more about Ashi's podcast? So Ashi
- 19:13Speaker 1: co-hosts a self-improvement podcast called She Rises alongside her latest
- 19:17Speaker 1: best friend, Tiana Bundelow. They release four episodes a week
- 19:21Speaker 1: and back in May announced that they would be hosting
- 19:23Speaker 1: retreats in Bali for listeners. Now, Ashi was forced to
- 19:27Speaker 1: relaunch the podcast under a new name at the start
- 19:30Speaker 1: of this year after a public friendship breakdown with her co-host,
- 19:33Speaker 1: Kiara Dorough. At the time, followers speculated that Kiara had
- 19:38Speaker 1: been gagged, but she actually ended up dropping a few
- 19:40Speaker 1: details about what went down. Reading between the lines, it
- 19:44Speaker 1: seems like Ashi put a lot of pressure on Kiara
- 19:47Speaker 1: when it came to the podcast. So, Kiara said the
- 19:49Speaker 1: podcast was meant to be a bit of a fun
- 19:51Speaker 1: side project, but Ashi took it way more seriously. Kiara
- 19:55Speaker 1: even labeled her friendship with Ashi full on. So when
- 19:58Speaker 1: Ashi promoted that she was expanding the podcast team, people
- 20:02Speaker 1: started speculating that her co-host Tiana must also be struggling
- 20:06Speaker 1: with the workload. Listeners have been picking up on a
- 20:08Speaker 1: bit of a vibe that Tiana has been left to
- 20:10Speaker 1: do the majority of the heavy lifting with this podcast.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And that seemed to be confirmed when both Ashley and
- 20:16Speaker 1: Tiana shared on social media what their roles were for
- 20:19Speaker 1: the podcast. And Tiana definitely takes care of the majority
- 20:23Speaker 1: of the back-end work from the finances to the editing.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 20:26Speaker 1: What about when Ashley claimed that she couldn't do the
- 20:29Speaker 1: more technical edits because her fingers were chubbier than Tiana?
- 20:32Speaker 1: She said she can't really zoom in. As for what
- 20:35Speaker 1: Ashley does, she said she prints off the script and
- 20:38Speaker 1: sticks them onto card and also uploads the TikToks and
- 20:41Speaker 1: sends out a newsletter that In terms of actually coming
- 20:44Speaker 1: up with the content, I got a little bit confused
- 20:46Speaker 1: because Ashi was like, oh yeah, you're much better at structure, Tiana.
- 20:49Speaker 1: You come up with the structure and then I go
- 20:51Speaker 1: in there and sort of add the content. But it
- 20:54Speaker 1: kind of seems to me that Tiana comes up with
- 20:56Speaker 1: the idea of the episode and then Ashi will sort
- 20:59Speaker 1: of write in a few little dot points underneath headlines.
- 21:02Speaker 2: It is a lot of.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Content for Tiana to come up with because as you
- 21:05Speaker 1: touched on, Kate, they release four episodes a week.
- 21:08Speaker 2: That is a big effort.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And I found it pretty fascinating learning more about behind
- 21:11Speaker 1: the scenes of their podcast because they actually bulk record
- 21:15Speaker 1: all of those episodes. So once a month, they drive
- 21:18Speaker 1: from the Gold Coast up to Brisbane. They book in
- 21:20Speaker 1: a recording studio. They stay there overnight and they record
- 21:24Speaker 1: 16 episodes. Now getting back to this job advertisement, Ashi
- 21:29Speaker 1: wrote on Instagram that they're looking for an assistant role.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So they want someone to work five to six plus
- 21:34Speaker 1: hours a week. And They said that there's potential growth
- 21:38Speaker 1: in the role. She wrote, we're looking for a high vibe, creative,
- 21:41Speaker 1: ridiculously organized and self-led assistant to join the She Rises team.
- 21:46Speaker 1: This role starts at around five hours a week with
- 21:49Speaker 1: opportunity to expand into more hours as the brand continues
- 21:53Speaker 1: to grow. We're looking for someone who can keep up
- 21:56Speaker 1: with the rapid growth and stay organized when it comes
- 21:58Speaker 1: to our project planning and evolving brand. This is a
- 22:01Speaker 1: flexible work from home role with the potential for in-office
- 22:05Speaker 1: work in the future. Could it be more clear that
- 22:07Speaker 1: ChatGPT wrote that job advertisement? Now, despite saying that they
- 22:12Speaker 1: wanted someone to work five to six hours a week,
- 22:14Speaker 1: the list of responsibilities was so big that they had
- 22:17Speaker 1: to divide it into weekly and monthly tasks.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Let's run through them.
- 22:21Speaker 1: So they want someone to upload podcast snippets to TikTok
- 22:25Speaker 1: and Instagram three times a day on each platform, write
- 22:30Speaker 1: captions for all of the uploads, set up many chat
- 22:33Speaker 1: keyword automatics, Manage customer care for retreats. Manage SheRises Instagram DMs.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Manage customer service for the SheRises subscription. Reach out to
- 22:43Speaker 1: potential podcast guests. Send out weekly newsletter. Brainstorm creative content ideas.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Plan and organize trending weekly content in Google Docs. Now,
- 22:53Speaker 1: as for the monthly responsibilities, they included project planning and
- 22:56Speaker 1: organizing brand initiatives, printing and preparing speaking point cards for filming.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Ashley's obviously fed up doing that. Yeah. assist at photo shoots,
- 23:06Speaker 1: run errands when required, track monthly revenue, follow up invoices
- 23:10Speaker 1: and subscriptions for retreats and provide ongoing customer service for
- 23:14Speaker 1: She Rises retreat. So there's an awful lot on someone's
- 23:17Speaker 1: plate for someone who works five to six hours a week.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sorry, that is a full-time gig. Like
- 23:22Speaker 1: I don't understand how that is being advertised as five
- 23:24Speaker 1: to six hours a week.
- 23:25Speaker 2: That is absolutely ridiculous.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Well, they obviously didn't have trouble finding someone because on Wednesday,
- 23:30Speaker 1: Ashi and Tiana announced that they'd interviewed their first PA.
- 23:34Speaker 1: They teased their audience that it was someone they may
- 23:37Speaker 1: already know. And hours later, they confirmed that they had
- 23:40Speaker 1: hired her.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I love that they hired the first person they interviewed.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Like to me, the fact that it was someone they
- 23:44Speaker 1: know makes it sound like no one actually applied.
- 23:47Speaker 2: For the job.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So they had to go in-house and go, you know,
- 23:50Speaker 1: because Ashley's got her other business hideaway. I'm guessing it's
- 23:53Speaker 1: someone from the hideaway team. It's interesting because from the outside,
- 23:56Speaker 1: it looks like this podcast is absolutely flourishing since the rebrand.
- 24:00Speaker 1: And When Ashley announced the rebrand, she made it very
- 24:03Speaker 1: clear that this podcast is a top priority of hers.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And in terms of success on the charts, last month
- 24:09Speaker 1: the podcast ranked number 285 with 21,000 monthly listeners and
- 24:15Speaker 1: 46,000 downloads across 23 episodes. So that means roughly each
- 24:19Speaker 1: episode is averaging around 2,000 downloads. Look, not to shit
- 24:23Speaker 1: on anyone, but that's actually not very much considering the
- 24:26Speaker 1: the large Instagram following that she has. And it's quite
- 24:29Speaker 1: clear why their strategy is to release four episodes a
- 24:32Speaker 1: week because they're trying to bolster up their total download numbers.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I mean, that was obvious to me looking at it
- 24:38Speaker 1: as well. And again, I mean, 2000 downloads is good
- 24:41Speaker 1: for a podcast, but not when you have, you know,
- 24:43Speaker 1: a million followers on Instagram. Like it's quite clear that
- 24:46Speaker 1: your followers aren't listening to your podcast. It's good for
- 24:49Speaker 1: a startup podcast of people who have no profile whatsoever.
- 24:52Speaker 1: But for someone of her status, that's pretty disappointing.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I mean, it's quite clear that they're very focused on
- 25:00Speaker 1: creating revenue from their podcast. They have ads running on it.
- 25:03Speaker 1: So they would be creating some revenue through the ad stream,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but they've also now set up this additional revenue stream
- 25:09Speaker 1: of the retreats. So they announced that they sold out
- 25:13Speaker 1: of their May 2026 retreats in eight hours. I was like,
- 25:16Speaker 1: oh wow, that's a lot. But then to put that
- 25:18Speaker 1: into perspective, there are only 24 spots available on the trip. Yeah,
- 25:22Speaker 1: but this is what all influencers do. We've sold out
- 25:24Speaker 1: of everything, but we have very limited spots. Yeah, it
- 25:27Speaker 1: was weird because then they launched this other retreat for
- 25:29Speaker 1: September 2026 off the back of Selling Out and they
- 25:32Speaker 1: kept claiming, oh, but we've got hundreds of people on.
- 25:35Speaker 2: The waiting list.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But then the way it was set up was so
- 25:38Speaker 1: unprofessional because people had to DM them saying that they
- 25:41Speaker 1: were interested and then they sent them the brochure with
- 25:45Speaker 1: the details and then they were like, oh, but you
- 25:48Speaker 1: can pay for it in full or we can do
- 25:50Speaker 1: a payment plan, but we have to get back to
- 25:52Speaker 1: our hotel in Bali because they were over in Bali
- 25:55Speaker 1: to do that.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It was just so unprofessional. I was like, you can't
- 25:59Speaker 2: run a business like that.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Well, another sign that things aren't going so well for
- 26:03Speaker 1: this podcast comes down to their live tour. So they
- 26:06Speaker 1: have been spruiking since the start of the year that
- 26:09Speaker 1: they are holding live tours around the country. And in
- 26:12Speaker 1: late April, they announced this tour and claimed they had
- 26:14Speaker 1: already sold out of VIP tickets and general admissions were
- 26:18Speaker 1: flying off the shelves. Yeah. So when I was doing
- 26:21Speaker 1: research for this topic, I was like, oh, I didn't
- 26:23Speaker 1: even know they had a live show on. And I
- 26:25Speaker 1: clicked on the link that they provided in one of
- 26:27Speaker 1: their highlighted Instagram stories. And it came up with like
- 26:31Speaker 1: an error. And I was like, oh, that's weird. So
- 26:32Speaker 1: I started Googling and I came across a ticket page.
- 26:36Speaker 2: And to my surprise, it was listed as cancelled.
- 26:39Speaker 1: So on the page, it said, due to unforeseen circumstances,
- 26:41Speaker 1: She Rises Live with Ashi and Tiana has unfortunately been cancelled.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Affected ticket holders will receive an email advising of the
- 26:48Speaker 1: cancellation and next steps. Please check your inbox and spam
- 26:52Speaker 1: junk folders.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Well, there's a job for the assistant.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Please email the handful of people who have secured tickets
- 26:58Speaker 1: to your live show.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Please give them their money back.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Now, this led me to do some further digging because
- 27:03Speaker 1: I was like, oh, surely Ashley and Tiana have publicly
- 27:05Speaker 1: announced that this tour was cancelled somewhere. And I spent
- 27:09Speaker 1: ages trawling through the She Rises Instagram account. In the end,
- 27:12Speaker 1: I ended up putting a call out on Outspoken's Facebook
- 27:15Speaker 1: community asking if anyone had heard anything. Now, everyone was like, oh,
- 27:19Speaker 1: I wonder if it's another friendship bust up. Now, off
- 27:22Speaker 1: the back of my post in the Facebook community, the
- 27:24Speaker 1: news spread to Tattle Life and someone ended up sharing
- 27:27Speaker 1: a message that Tiana sent them about.
- 27:30Speaker 2: The live show. So she wrote, that's right.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Unfortunately, we made the decision to pause She Rises live.
- 27:36Speaker 1: We were navigating a lot of changes slash difficulties and
- 27:39Speaker 1: with getting this event up and running, and it just
- 27:42Speaker 1: felt extremely forceful. It wasn't lining up in the way
- 27:45Speaker 1: we originally wanted it to when we first launched. We
- 27:48Speaker 1: tossed up for a long time with this decision because
- 27:50Speaker 1: we only ever wanted to deliver the best experience for
- 27:53Speaker 1: you ladies, and with venue issues and some internal challenges,
- 27:56Speaker 1: we just decided to pause it until we can deliver 100%.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Refunds were the easiest way we could support all the
- 28:02Speaker 1: women who bought tickets instead of giving credits and leaving
- 28:05Speaker 1: it open-ended, etc. But we are building something right now
- 28:09Speaker 1: that we know you'll love. Thank you for understanding and
- 28:11Speaker 1: we're excited for the day we can get up on
- 28:13Speaker 1: the stage and have you join us. Look, I don't
- 28:15Speaker 1: mean to be that person, but it's quite clear that
- 28:18Speaker 1: they just didn't get the numbers. Yeah, I mean... It's
- 28:21Speaker 1: nothing to do with the venue falling through. I just
- 28:24Speaker 1: find it very unprofessional that they didn't publicly announce that
- 28:26Speaker 1: this tour wasn't happening. Like if there was a legitimate
- 28:28Speaker 1: reason like, oh, we're having... issues because the venue's not
- 28:31Speaker 1: big enough to hold everyone or, you know, because they
- 28:35Speaker 1: claimed they had sold out of VIP tickets and, you know,
- 28:38Speaker 1: the other tickets were selling like hotcakes. Well, if you
- 28:40Speaker 1: are a diehard fan of this podcast, you're buying the
- 28:43Speaker 1: VIP tickets. So maybe they thought, wow, those have sold
- 28:45Speaker 1: so quickly. There's going to be an outpouring of interest
- 28:48Speaker 1: in our general admission.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Tickets, but there just wasn't.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, it seems pretty obvious that there were
- 28:53Speaker 1: a lack of ticket sales. But I think if you
- 28:56Speaker 1: really care about the community that you're building and there
- 28:59Speaker 1: were people that bought tickets, you need to publicly address
- 29:02Speaker 1: it and say, look, I'm sorry, we're actually rescheduling the show.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Like just say that there's a schedule clash or something.
- 29:09Speaker 2: It's because they.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Don't want to go into the real reason that they're
- 29:11Speaker 1: cancelling this tour.
- 29:13Speaker 2: So they would rather hide it.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I mean, in that message, Tiana dropped that they're bringing
- 29:17Speaker 1: something else out. And they have been teasing it, which
- 29:20Speaker 1: was giving me flashbacks to when Kiara and Ashley were
- 29:23Speaker 1: teasing a product and then suddenly there was radio silence
- 29:26Speaker 1: and they were no longer friends nor hosting the podcast together.
- 29:29Speaker 1: So I'm wondering if this product will ever see the
- 29:31Speaker 1: light of day. A lot of people were guessing what
- 29:33Speaker 1: it was in the comment section. They have revealed it's
- 29:35Speaker 1: not a dildo, which was one of the guesses. And
- 29:37Speaker 1: then a couple of other people asked if it was
- 29:39Speaker 1: a planner or a journal. It is not either of
- 29:42Speaker 1: those things.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I love how different it is. A dildo or a journal?
- 29:46Speaker 1: Well, we know that Ashley has been selling natural lube. So,
- 29:49Speaker 1: I mean, there's a variety of products that it could be.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I was actually going back over the run sheet that
- 29:55Speaker 1: we did back in January when we discussed the relaunch
- 29:58Speaker 1: of this podcast. And it seems like Ashley Bynes kind
- 30:00Speaker 1: of has already ruined her surprise because she spoke about
- 30:03Speaker 1: how they want to do a four-week self-improvement course. So
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm guessing the product has to do with that. Let's
- 30:10Speaker 1: get into our Friday debrief. And I'm coming with a
- 30:11Speaker 1: recommendation that has really surprised me because I scrolled past
- 30:15Speaker 1: it so many times on Netflix and I'm like, I
- 30:18Speaker 1: am not.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Interested in Charlie Sheen.
- 30:20Speaker 1: I grew up with dad watching Two and a Half Men.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I despise the show. I never really got it. I
- 30:25Speaker 1: never even understood that Charlie Sheen was a big actor
- 30:29Speaker 1: before then.
- 30:30Speaker 2: No, I had no idea. Well, he sort of was
- 30:32Speaker 2: playing himself.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 2: So he was sort of a bit of a joke
- 30:36Speaker 2: on that show. Man, man, man, man, man, man, man.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I always just viewed him as this washed up actor. Anyway,
- 30:42Speaker 1: there wasn't much on Netflix. I'm like, let's just watch it.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I love a celebrity documentary as well.
- 30:48Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, okay.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I'm guessing that they haven't spoken to him. Like it
- 30:51Speaker 1: must be everyone else speaking about him.
- 30:53Speaker 4: No, no.
- 30:54Speaker 2: He was there. absolutely telling everything. It was amazing.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a bit sceptical at first and thought,
- 31:01Speaker 1: I'm not going to enjoy this, but it really hooked
- 31:03Speaker 1: me in with the first story he told about being
- 31:07Speaker 1: on an aeroplane on the way to his honeymoon with
- 31:09Speaker 1: his wife or one of his wives.
- 31:11Speaker 2: He had three wives.
- 31:12Speaker 1: And basically he got invited into the cockpit because the
- 31:16Speaker 1: captain was a big fan of him. And he said, hey, mate,
- 31:18Speaker 1: could I put on your captain's jacket? I think you're
- 31:20Speaker 1: forgetting the fact that he had just downed four shots
- 31:23Speaker 1: prior to entering the cockpit. And also he'd been drinking
- 31:26Speaker 1: throughout the whole flight. He was very intoxicated.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:29Speaker 1: So he was off his face at this point, off
- 31:31Speaker 1: his chops. And he said, yeah, could I also put
- 31:33Speaker 1: your captain's hat on? And the guy's like, okay. Okay.
- 31:36Speaker 1: And then they took a photo and then he said, oh,
- 31:38Speaker 1: can I sit behind the wheel?
- 31:40Speaker 2: And the pilot's like, all right.
- 31:41Speaker 1: So the co-pilot gets up and the pilot actually flicked.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Over the controls.
- 31:46Speaker 1: So Charlie Sheen was flying the fucking plane.
- 31:49Speaker 2: And this is a passenger jet with like 400 people
- 31:51Speaker 2: on it.
- 31:52Speaker 1: And he said he started to sort of turn it
- 31:54Speaker 1: slightly and the plane started tilting. And that's when the
- 31:57Speaker 1: pilot decided, hey, this isn't a good idea.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Let's flick this off.
- 32:01Speaker 1: So it was the perfect way to portray the power
- 32:05Speaker 1: of and celebrity that Charlie Sheen had at that point
- 32:08Speaker 1: in time and how he could basically get away with anything. Yeah, well,
- 32:11Speaker 1: it was a great introduction to the doco because the
- 32:13Speaker 1: interviewer is like, was it at this point that you
- 32:16Speaker 1: thought you could get away with anything?
- 32:17Speaker 2: And he's like, yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I've never been a fan of the guy because there's
- 32:20Speaker 1: always been these stories in the background about alleged domestic
- 32:24Speaker 1: violence with his partners. And two of his partners actually
- 32:27Speaker 1: did appear in the documentary. And it was quite interesting
- 32:30Speaker 1: because although it was quite clear that they had a
- 32:33Speaker 1: tumultuous relationship with him, They still remained in his life
- 32:36Speaker 1: because they shared children together. I was shocked about how
- 32:39Speaker 1: much Denise Richards did for Charlie Sheen particularly. I mean,
- 32:42Speaker 1: I don't want to ruin the doco, but the fact
- 32:44Speaker 1: that she took in his twins with his new wife
- 32:47Speaker 1: when they were going to be taken into care. And
- 32:50Speaker 1: that's the thing. Even though he was such a jerk,
- 32:55Speaker 1: there was still a likable quality to him. Maybe it
- 32:58Speaker 1: was because he's actually being so honest now. Well, he
- 33:01Speaker 1: has a lot of charisma as well. Like he– Like
- 33:05Speaker 1: I've never found him attractive, but I'm like, oh, he
- 33:06Speaker 1: was a really good looking young guy. It is a
- 33:09Speaker 1: fascinating documentary. If you were looking for something to watch
- 33:12Speaker 1: with your partner on the weekend, I would definitely tune in.
- 33:15Speaker 1: It had me hooked for like the three or four
- 33:17Speaker 1: hours that it went for. I've just been desperately looking
- 33:19Speaker 1: for something to get into after the Summer I Turn
- 33:22Speaker 1: Pretty finale. I've been living for that show ever. You
- 33:24Speaker 1: guys have not watched it. I feel like it's the
- 33:26Speaker 1: biggest show in the world at the moment. And I
- 33:29Speaker 1: don't know what I can convince you to get into it.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I've watched one series and I did kind of like
- 33:34Speaker 1: it like years ago.
- 33:35Speaker 2: So I feel like it's a bit of a commitment
- 33:36Speaker 2: that I have to rewatch it.
- 33:38Speaker 1: No, you don't have to rewatch it. Don't bother watching
- 33:40Speaker 1: the second series. That was disappointing. Go straight to the third.
- 33:44Speaker 2: It was so good.
- 33:46Speaker 1: We've been watching the poor man's version of The Summer
- 33:48Speaker 1: I Turned Pretty. We were watching at home with the
- 33:50Speaker 1: Walter boys.
- 33:51Speaker 2: What the fuck is that? It's got Donna from Suits
- 33:54Speaker 2: in it. It's kind of the same teenage purpose.
- 33:56Speaker 1: You guys need to watch something that's actually trending at
- 33:59Speaker 1: the moment. You and Rhys have been watching The Block.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I'm like, are you guys just middle-aged now? I will
- 34:04Speaker 1: not have you say a bad thing against that show anymore.
- 34:07Speaker 1: The Block is my comfort show at the moment. You
- 34:09Speaker 1: guys are fucking tragic. I don't know who watches free-to-air
- 34:12Speaker 1: TV anymore.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Get on Netflix.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Hey, I was listening to the Baby Talk podcast with
- 34:17Speaker 1: Taylor Broad and Lana Murphy, and they both love The Block.
- 34:20Speaker 2: So I think you need to get around it.
- 34:21Speaker 4: All right.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Well, can someone please convince Kate to watch the third
- 34:25Speaker 1: series of the summer?
- 34:26Speaker 2: I will watch it if you watch The Block. I'm
- 34:28Speaker 2: not watching The Block. I've missed it all. It's on free-to-air.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I've missed it. It's on catch-up.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Well, okay. I'll give it a go.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Just watch Summer I Turn Pretty and I want to
- 34:35Speaker 1: know if you're Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah.
- 34:37Speaker 4: All right.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Well, I think that's where we're going to leave things today.
