Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Where's the best place to go for a romantic destination?
- 0:03Speaker 1: I think we have the answer. It's Light FM, Cubby, Christine,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and Kristen. Thinking honeymoon, thinking anything with the partner that.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Could be considered romantic. Yeah, just a little getaway.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you want to get away. Is New York on there,
- 0:14Speaker 1: by the way? I haven't seen the list. Is it
- 0:16Speaker 1: like New York City?
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm sorry to tell you this, but no.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I was thinking, okay, good. Because I love New York City,
- 0:21Speaker 1: but I'm like, no. It's got to be somewhere warm
- 0:24Speaker 1: and somewhere palm trees.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Actually, it's... usually been Paris. Paris has been number one
- 0:32Speaker 2: for years and years and years. But this latest survey
- 0:35Speaker 2: found that Maui has edged out Paris as the most
- 0:39Speaker 2: romantic destination.
- 0:40Speaker 1: There you go.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Just because of everything, I'm guessing? Just perfect?
- 0:45Speaker 2: You know, I just recently was reflecting on Eric and
- 0:48Speaker 2: the trips we've done and what my favorite trips have been.
- 0:51Speaker 2: And we went to Maui. And I always thought, I
- 0:54Speaker 2: want to go back there. I want to go back.
- 0:55Speaker 2: And I was thinking that was one of our greatest...
- 0:58Speaker 2: It was just so beautiful. Everything went right. Yeah, it
- 1:01Speaker 2: was so gorgeous.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Good food, good people.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah. And it's someplace like he had been a lot,
- 1:05Speaker 2: so he could show me around, which was nice. So anyway,
- 1:09Speaker 2: that's Eric and me. But for the, you know, that's us.
- 1:13Speaker 2: We love Paris. That's where we got engaged. So it
- 1:16Speaker 2: is now officially Maui, Paris. And then it looks like
- 1:21Speaker 2: we also love Rome, Venice, and Cancun.
- 1:25Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:25Speaker 2: That's rounding out the top five. Why is.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Paris always associated with love? Like, why does it always
- 1:31Speaker 1: come up in the romantic world?
- 1:32Speaker 2: It's called the City of Lights, right? But it feels
- 1:35Speaker 2: like the City of Love.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Oh, wait. No, you're right. I'm looking it up. Paris
- 1:38Speaker 1: is called the City of Love because of a mix
- 1:41Speaker 1: of historical culture. You got artistic movements, global storytelling, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: it built a romantic myth. It's a powerful romantic myth.
- 1:50Speaker 1: It is.
- 1:51Speaker 2: But I just, I feel like I see a lot
- 1:53Speaker 2: of romance around me. I've only been to Paris a
- 1:55Speaker 2: couple of times.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You got the writers, the poets. Yes.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, all that art, all that beauty. The architecture can
- 2:01Speaker 2: be beautiful.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Where's Secaucus? Is Secaucus, New Jersey on there?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Number 89. But Vienna has a lot of that going on, too,
- 2:10Speaker 2: I will say, for a very romantic, beautiful place, like
- 2:13Speaker 2: for the art and the architecture and the music and everything.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That's another. There's so many beautiful places.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I just think, I don't know why, I just think
- 2:21Speaker 1: romance should be warm. I don't know. I know Paris
- 2:23Speaker 1: and Rome and all that. But I just think, like
- 2:26Speaker 1: Maldives for us. My wife and I, our honeymoon was
- 2:28Speaker 1: the Maldives. To me, that was love. That was romance.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And then again, it was our honeymoons. Maybe I associate
- 2:35Speaker 1: that in my head.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I think that looks like a pretty romantic spot. But yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 2: that's why I think Maui's number one. And then you
- 2:39Speaker 2: have Cancun at number five.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Which, that also seems kind of weird to me. Even
- 2:44Speaker 1: though it fits the category of warm and palm trees,
- 2:46Speaker 1: which I like. It seems young, like young demo.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I know you probably think of it as spring break,
- 2:51Speaker 2: but there are beautiful, beautiful resorts. Like there's couples only
- 2:55Speaker 2: resorts there that are just gorgeous. I found it romantic.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They said they feel like people right now are looking
- 3:01Speaker 2: for smaller, less crowded destinations to get away for romance.
- 3:08Speaker 2: So that's why they think the major cities are falling
- 3:10Speaker 2: off a little bit. Because everybody's Instagramming all these pictures
- 3:14Speaker 2: and everything. You can't, like, get to places anymore.
- 3:16Speaker 1: That's true.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So, you know, now people want their own kind of
- 3:19Speaker 2: private moment. Get away.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Well, congratulations to Maui. Number one.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and it is so, so, so beautiful. So, yes.
