- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's a Vgeonal podcast.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 0:20Speaker 2: They had media night last night down in New Orleans,
- 0:23Speaker 2: and it doesn't have the organic nature it used to have.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I mean, maybe I'm just jelly because I'm not down there.
- 0:29Speaker 4: With Myles Garrett. It's the same situation, like he obviously
- 0:32Speaker 4: wants out of Cleveland.
- 0:33Speaker 5: I heard it might go to the Lakers exactly if
- 0:36Speaker 5: you're gonna do that joke, right, it's the Dodgers.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Paul doesn't like the Celtics and Evan done.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Oh that's not true.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I don't I get Why do they want to trade
- 0:44Speaker 2: him just to offload the salary. He's not toast. He
- 0:49Speaker 2: might be injured, but when he's out there, he's done
- 0:52Speaker 2: okay lately, but he's okay. He toasts.
- 0:57Speaker 4: He's in the toaster, like I don't know if he's done,
- 1:00Speaker 4: but warming.
- 1:01Speaker 6: You're only the first setting. It's like lightly brown.
- 1:02Speaker 2: There's no difference between a rub and a pick. I
- 1:05Speaker 2: totally agree, right, right.
- 1:07Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:09Speaker 7: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals, buy a Toyota
- 1:13Speaker 7: dot com.
- 1:15Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:19Speaker 2: at Jillette Stadium, cold and snowy, and we're expecting even
- 1:24Speaker 2: more snow for Super Bowl Sunday. So if you've got plans,
- 1:28Speaker 2: you might want to get there early and don't plan
- 1:31Speaker 2: on leaving because at least you're in this area. Because
- 1:35Speaker 2: it's supposed to we're supposed to get dumped on anyway.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I'll be warm and cozy in the house watching Super Bowl.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I watch all the pregame stuff. Do you guys watch
- 1:44Speaker 2: the previews? Oh?
- 1:45Speaker 5: Yeah, you get into that.
- 1:46Speaker 6: I put it on so I like to have the atmosphere.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That's not watch I'm with my So what I'll do,
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'll put on ESPN early and then as soon as
- 1:54Speaker 2: the network that's covering the game starts their coverage, then
- 1:57Speaker 2: I turned to that and all the way through.
- 1:59Speaker 6: I like that. I like that.
- 2:00Speaker 2: That's my plan.
- 2:01Speaker 5: I just like watching pre game stuff.
- 2:03Speaker 4: No, because usually got a lot of ball knowing we're
- 2:06Speaker 4: in transit to wherever we're going to be watching the game.
- 2:08Speaker 4: So I wouldn't say that, but the Puppy Bowl. Probably
- 2:11Speaker 4: watch that in the morning.
- 2:13Speaker 6: Very cute.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yep ye catch a little bit of that.
- 2:16Speaker 2: So at seven, it's Paul, it's Deuce. It's still a
- 2:19Speaker 2: well tanned Alex And yeah, Tanorama, is that what you're doing? No, okay,
- 2:26Speaker 2: it's all natural. So we're talking Patriots and everything else
- 2:31Speaker 2: for the next two hours. We did have a big
- 2:33Speaker 2: announcement from the Patriots, you know, not breaking news, but
- 2:39Speaker 2: it firmed up all the reports that we've been talking
- 2:41Speaker 2: about in terms of who are the coaches going to be.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And Paul, you have that list in front of you.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Wanted to go down the list and let us know
- 2:48Speaker 2: the twenty twenty five new England Patriots coaching staff.
- 2:52Speaker 5: So we can now no longer have to say that
- 2:54Speaker 5: these aren't official. These are now official. So offensively we
- 2:59Speaker 5: have Josh McDaniel's defensive coordinator obviously, Thomas Brown tight ends
- 3:02Speaker 5: passing game coordinator, Doug Maron. Offensive line Jason Hodeling, I
- 3:08Speaker 5: do that right, perfect, assistant offensive line, Robert Coogler assistant
- 3:12Speaker 5: offensive line. So again, two assistant offensive line coaches. I
- 3:16Speaker 5: guess that's a new We got more on that in
- 3:20Speaker 5: the moment. Todd downing wide receivers, Tony Dues, running backs
- 3:25Speaker 5: Ashton Grant, quarterbacks, Riley Larkin and Chucky Keaton. Offensive assistants Okay,
- 3:31Speaker 5: Jeremy Springer and Tom Quinn will handle the special teams.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Springer is the special teams coordinator, Tom Quinn as he
- 3:37Speaker 5: was last year assistant special teams on the defensive side,
- 3:40Speaker 5: Terrell Williams. We talked about him a little bit last week.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Defensive coordinator inside linebackers, Zach Kerr said, Mike, you can
- 3:50Speaker 5: correct correct my pronunciations, please. Scott Booker, the safety's coach.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Justin Hamilton will handle the cornerbacks. Clint McMillan defensive line.
- 3:59Speaker 5: This is the newest one that I just heard about yesterday.
- 4:02Speaker 5: I think Mike Smith outside linebackers, UH, Vinnie DePalma, not
- 4:06Speaker 5: to be confused with Louis defensive assistant, Kevin Richardson defensive assistant,
- 4:10Speaker 5: Milton Patterson defensive assistant, and Ben McAdoo senior defensive assistant.
- 4:17Speaker 5: So also Doron Mayo is the special Uh. I mean
- 4:22Speaker 5: the strength and conditioning coach, which I found fascinating. I
- 4:25Speaker 5: did too, so he stays as the special strength. I
- 4:29Speaker 5: keep saying special teams, strength and conditioning and Brian McDonough
- 4:33Speaker 5: will be his assistant, so he stays too. John Stryker
- 4:39Speaker 5: Stretch vice president of Football ops in strategy, and Frank
- 4:44Speaker 5: Perno is the director of Sports Performance.
- 4:47Speaker 4: So he's the real Yeah, that's my strength and conditioning coach,
- 4:50Speaker 4: Frank Frank.
- 4:52Speaker 6: A little maybe kind of a demotion for Deromeo or
- 4:54Speaker 6: is he still I don't know how that divvy's up there.
- 4:56Speaker 4: It's like there was somebody hired above him. I would
- 5:00Speaker 4: say than the demotion necessarily, but it's.
- 5:02Speaker 2: A new position. I don't think they had that position.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yeah, Frank Frank the tank was with with Mike Rabel
- 5:10Speaker 4: in Tennessee and so he's uh, he's a lot of
- 5:14Speaker 4: a lot of the stuff that he does too, is
- 5:16Speaker 4: in the sports science realm, not just strength and conditioning,
- 5:20Speaker 4: but also some of the new you know, injury prevention
- 5:23Speaker 4: and all that cool stuff as well.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yep. So there it is.
- 5:27Speaker 5: Yeah, that's uh now, all made official late yesterday by
- 5:33Speaker 5: the Patriots.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Now you said you had something on Dante.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Uh Now, these gentlemen went back and heard his He
- 5:39Speaker 5: appeared on wee I this morning, Dante Scarneccia. There's a
- 5:43Speaker 5: report yesterday, well. Greg. Earlier in the week, Greg Badard
- 5:49Speaker 5: wrote that he had been it was his understanding that
- 5:52Speaker 5: Dante would be involved on an as needed basis as
- 5:56Speaker 5: a consultant with the offensive line. Bill O'Brien, uh the
- 6:00Speaker 5: now Boston College head coach, yesterday, indicated on his podcast
- 6:04Speaker 5: that that was a done deal. He was working already
- 6:08Speaker 5: and you guys have updates on then.
- 6:09Speaker 6: So I let Mike and Dante was on Greg Hill
- 6:11Speaker 6: this morning. Greg Hill asked him directly and he said, no,
- 6:14Speaker 6: I'm not I haven't been and I won't so what Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 2: But what was it? What was the exact question, because
- 6:22Speaker 2: what was he answering?
- 6:23Speaker 6: Well, it was, I mean, asked him directly about the
- 6:26Speaker 6: reports that you're going to be helping out there. He said, no,
- 6:29Speaker 6: that's not true. And then Courtney Cox said, well, he
- 6:32Speaker 6: kind of walked it back a little bit this morning,
- 6:34Speaker 6: just said you've been consulting and you've been around a
- 6:36Speaker 6: little bit, and he said, no, I haven't been. I've
- 6:39Speaker 6: been playing pickleball. That was essentially what his response was. So,
- 6:43Speaker 6: I don't know, So I don't know what, but I
- 6:47Speaker 6: think they got three coaches. I mean, I don't I
- 6:49Speaker 6: don't know. I mean I kind of said a Tuesday like,
- 6:51Speaker 6: not that I didn't want Dante, but at a certain
- 6:54Speaker 6: point you got to move on. And they've got not
- 6:56Speaker 6: only a very experienced offensive line coach now, but to
- 6:59Speaker 6: offense of line assistance, and one of whom was here
- 7:01Speaker 6: last year. So how many I mean, I get we
- 7:04Speaker 6: got to fix the offensive line, but how many coaches
- 7:06Speaker 6: do you need? I mean that seems like a lot,
- 7:08Speaker 6: So I don't I would hopefully trust that the moron
- 7:11Speaker 6: and his two assistants can get the job done without.
- 7:13Speaker 6: You know, I love Dante, would be cool if he
- 7:14Speaker 6: was coming back, but at a certain point you got
- 7:16Speaker 6: to move on and find someone else.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Well, but even just someone who's a phone call away.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I think I look at that as an advantage, like
- 7:25Speaker 2: just to be able to call him up and say, hey,
- 7:28Speaker 2: how did you do such and such? You know, we're
- 7:30Speaker 2: we got an issue here, We're trying to figure this out.
- 7:34Speaker 2: You know, how did you deal with this when you
- 7:36Speaker 2: were the like I think, you know, if you can
- 7:39Speaker 2: have that type of expertise at a phone call away,
- 7:42Speaker 2: take advantage of it.
- 7:43Speaker 4: If it sounded to me based off of listening to
- 7:46Speaker 4: O'Brien that it was more about Doug Moron maybe getting
- 7:51Speaker 4: to know Josh in his system a little bit and
- 7:54Speaker 4: trying to help him with that transition, then it was
- 7:57Speaker 4: going to be anything more in depth in that, And
- 8:01Speaker 4: uh it was. It was like he was kind of
- 8:03Speaker 4: just around BC, around you know, the facility and stuff,
- 8:09Speaker 4: and maybe they had kind of chatted and tok some
- 8:12Speaker 4: ball here and there. But I can understand why Scar
- 8:16Speaker 4: would be but pushed back on it being like a
- 8:18Speaker 4: true consulting job, like, I don't think it's that. It
- 8:21Speaker 4: was ever that in said.
- 8:25Speaker 2: In any event, the staff is now official, it's been released.
- 8:28Speaker 2: You can get that on Patriots dot com. I know
- 8:31Speaker 2: it's a lot of new names, so if you want
- 8:34Speaker 2: to get up to date with their backgrounds and what
- 8:37Speaker 2: connection they do or don't have with Mike Rabel, it's
- 8:39Speaker 2: all on Patriots dot com.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 6: I haven't wrote up in an analysis as well, yep of it.
- 8:43Speaker 6: So yeah, off we go. I guess that's uh waiting
- 8:46Speaker 6: for this moment for them to round things out. So yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 6: big piece of the pie, and I guess we'll leave
- 8:51Speaker 6: the combine a couple.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Of years now. There is another part of you know
- 8:55Speaker 2: the football administration, which is the scouting and personnel, and
- 8:59Speaker 2: you know, we know Elliot Wolf is there, we know
- 9:01Speaker 2: Ryan Cowden is there. But there's a whole bunch of
- 9:04Speaker 2: scouts and personnel people. I don't know who's left over
- 9:08Speaker 2: from last year, who's new. There could be a lot
- 9:11Speaker 2: of new faces there as well. I just I we
- 9:12Speaker 2: don't know that.
- 9:13Speaker 6: I think after the draft maybe, yeah, there might be
- 9:15Speaker 6: some changes.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, probably.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Yeah. It sounds like just based off of the people
- 9:19Speaker 4: that were at the Senior Bowl, that a lot of
- 9:21Speaker 4: those faces are going to stick around through the cycle
- 9:23Speaker 4: and then maybe some changes after the draft. I'm just
- 9:27Speaker 4: speculating on that, but it just the people that were
- 9:29Speaker 4: at the Senior Bowl are people that I recognized or
- 9:32Speaker 4: been here in the past.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Ye, yeah, I know who I'm interested in. Fred and
- 9:35Speaker 6: I got to witness a little bit of their interaction.
- 9:37Speaker 6: I know Evnant did too. Is stretch and he just
- 9:39Speaker 6: like he's a he's a tower like variable.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Is Yeah, he's probably what six seven, I mean he's yeah, I.
- 9:47Speaker 6: Guess he was stretched out at some point. But just
- 9:49Speaker 6: witnessing a little bit of their interaction, it's just I'm
- 9:51Speaker 6: not sure exactly what the comparison I like was initially
- 9:54Speaker 6: Consolo Chewbacca, but they just seem like two peas in
- 9:57Speaker 6: a pod, Like they seem like kind of the same
- 9:59Speaker 6: guy to me. You can see, like now I kind
- 10:01Speaker 6: of understand why Stretch was with the Rams, and everyone
- 10:04Speaker 6: was just like, no, he's definitely going to Vrabel, like
- 10:06Speaker 6: with New England. You know, they just I don't know
- 10:08Speaker 6: what you saw of them, Evan down there, but they
- 10:09Speaker 6: seem like two guys were very much on the same wavelength.
- 10:11Speaker 6: And it seems like Rabel goes right to him with everything,
- 10:14Speaker 6: and you know, as we've been talking, it seems like
- 10:16Speaker 6: he's a little bit bear, She's a little bit you know,
- 10:19Speaker 6: Ernie Adams. I guess he's a little bit of everything.
- 10:21Speaker 6: So it's an interesting new relations So we talked about it.
- 10:23Speaker 2: On this show, like you know, the brain drain that
- 10:26Speaker 2: the Patriots had, and a lot of people often forget
- 10:30Speaker 2: Ernie Adams leaving, and I think that affected Bill. I
- 10:34Speaker 2: think he used Ernie Adams the way we hope Rabel's
- 10:38Speaker 2: going to be able to use Stretch. They were just
- 10:41Speaker 2: on the same wavelength and they could talk without even
- 10:44Speaker 2: speaking words, you know, and that's that's really valuable to
- 10:49Speaker 2: a head coach because there's so much that they have
- 10:51Speaker 2: to do and keep their eye on, and to have
- 10:54Speaker 2: that second in command that can handle a lot of
- 10:57Speaker 2: that for you and give good advice. Uh, it's priceless.
- 11:02Speaker 6: Well, the title's interesting to me because I think he
- 11:03Speaker 6: was like what game management?
- 11:05Speaker 4: Yeah, he didn't have the operational responsibilities. It didn't sound
- 11:10Speaker 4: like with the rams that he's going to have with
- 11:12Speaker 4: here like the Burgonajerian side. I don't think that he
- 11:15Speaker 4: was doing as much of that stuff in Los Angeles.
- 11:18Speaker 4: But he's like a little bit different to than Ernie,
- 11:21Speaker 4: I would say, because Ernie was a football guy like
- 11:23Speaker 4: Ernie was, you know, he could like scout players and
- 11:26Speaker 4: like do all that stuff. I don't think Stretch is
- 11:28Speaker 4: going to be doing as much of that as he
- 11:29Speaker 4: is going to be helping Rabel manage the clock.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Situational football.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, did he.
- 11:35Speaker 6: Go to your school? Poll? Was he graduate?
- 11:38Speaker 5: He has not taken the mauld was not taking the course.
- 11:41Speaker 5: So we'll see Jerry's out on him.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Pause the negotiations. He might be one of his professors.
- 11:47Speaker 6: So he's got to go through the test.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Though I do wonder though, because he gets a title
- 11:51Speaker 5: with with VP in the front of it. Yeah, you know,
- 11:53Speaker 5: and I wonder if maybe they had to sort of
- 11:56Speaker 5: do something that was a step up. Sure, yep, could
- 11:59Speaker 5: be thinking him out of LA Yeah, and I have
- 12:01Speaker 5: no idea. Maybe his contract was up. Maybe, Yeah, it
- 12:04Speaker 5: doesn't really matter what.
- 12:05Speaker 1: You know. I don't know.
- 12:06Speaker 6: It feels to me like, I mean, I'm just speculating,
- 12:08Speaker 6: but it feels like Rabel is like this guy has
- 12:11Speaker 6: we're getting him like whatever, we have to call him,
- 12:13Speaker 6: but he's coming here.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 4: That was my takeaway with a lot of the guys
- 12:16Speaker 4: on the staff that they hired. These this staff had
- 12:21Speaker 4: to take some work. I mean, this was not a
- 12:23Speaker 4: Uh there's some big name coaches on the staff that
- 12:26Speaker 4: have been head coaches. There's four former head coaches. There's
- 12:30Speaker 4: five former offensive coordinators or play callers. Uh, there's a
- 12:35Speaker 4: lot of guys on here. Like Doug Maroon's a veteran
- 12:37Speaker 4: coach in this league. I don't think that you just
- 12:39Speaker 4: get Doug Maroon for peanuts, you know, Like I think
- 12:42Speaker 4: you had you paid for a staff like this is
- 12:44Speaker 4: a pretty significant staff. There's not a ton of coaches though,
- 12:48Speaker 4: you know, twenty two. Girod had twenty nine last year,
- 12:51Speaker 4: so it's a little bit smaller than what they had
- 12:53Speaker 4: last year. But some of these guys were tied to
- 12:57Speaker 4: contractually to other places or had pretty good titles, you know.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Scott Booker was a senior defensive assistant for Buffalo last
- 13:04Speaker 4: year and comes over to coach safety's year with the Patriots,
- 13:07Speaker 4: So there there's a you know, pretty penny spent on
- 13:10Speaker 4: this staff.
- 13:11Speaker 8: I would think, Yeah, probably a better problem to have
- 13:13Speaker 8: than we had last year. Though, Like, even though it
- 13:15Speaker 8: was a bigger staff, it just felt like the hiring
- 13:17Speaker 8: process took. It took so much just to get guys
- 13:20Speaker 8: in the door to come even interview. Yeah, it just
- 13:22Speaker 8: wasn't as appealing, you know.
- 13:24Speaker 2: And it just seemed like Mayo was handed the people
- 13:27Speaker 2: like because he had no clue, right, he didn't have
- 13:30Speaker 2: a network, so he was just given these people, right like,
- 13:34Speaker 2: this is who we got, Yeah, this is who we.
- 13:35Speaker 8: Could get based on advice and trust.
- 13:38Speaker 2: This seems like there was more thought and into this,
- 13:42Speaker 2: and Rabel had people in mind who he wanted, who
- 13:46Speaker 2: he was familiar with, and you have a lot more
- 13:51Speaker 2: confidence for sure. Yeah, going into twenty twenty five, one.
- 13:54Speaker 6: Thing that's just interesting to me with the quote from
- 13:56Speaker 6: the press release was Rabel saying the goal and filling
- 13:59Speaker 6: out the twenty twenty five Patriots coaching staff was to
- 14:02Speaker 6: identify to identify loyal, trustworthy coaches who are diverse and back.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I just I thought loy oil and trustworthy. Just it
- 14:10Speaker 6: was interesting to me that those were two of the
- 14:11Speaker 6: first words they used to describe. Not that I don't know,
- 14:14Speaker 6: I didn't really read into anything in the past that
- 14:16Speaker 6: made me think, like, I don't know, maybe I very
- 14:18Speaker 6: able to deal with guys who weren't loyal or trustworthy,
- 14:21Speaker 6: but clearly he has an element of a lot of
- 14:23Speaker 6: guys that were in Tennessee or you know, Josh, he
- 14:25Speaker 6: obviously knows very well. But those those two words stood
- 14:28Speaker 6: out to me.
- 14:28Speaker 4: I think.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I think going back to Parcells, who was the first
- 14:32Speaker 2: coach I was familiar with here, having loyal coaches on
- 14:38Speaker 2: your staff who you can trust is a big part
- 14:41Speaker 2: of the of the game for these head coaches because
- 14:44Speaker 2: you see it. Even with you have staff that you
- 14:47Speaker 2: deem loyal and trustworthy, stuff gets out there, yeah, and
- 14:51Speaker 2: nothing gets, you know, up the skin of a coach
- 14:54Speaker 2: of having this stuff out there when you thought, hey,
- 14:57Speaker 2: this was supposed to be internal. Why is some one
- 15:00Speaker 2: talking about this stuff? And loyal and trustworthy I think
- 15:03Speaker 2: has always been on everybody's mind, but it is. I
- 15:07Speaker 2: think it is interesting that those are the first two
- 15:09Speaker 2: descriptors in in in the staff.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Maybe maybe this is a stretch, but stretch, But you
- 15:16Speaker 6: noticed a lot of these coaching moves got announced by
- 15:18Speaker 6: random bloggers. It wasn't the usual suspect pitching. I don't
- 15:23Speaker 6: know two things are connected, but a lot of guys
- 15:27Speaker 6: that I've never even seen on Patriots Twitter before in
- 15:29Speaker 6: my life were breaking these stories. So I don't know
- 15:32Speaker 6: if those two things are connected, but it's it definitely
- 15:34Speaker 6: is an interesting kind of shift from what we're used to.
- 15:37Speaker 5: I'm interested in that.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Ye I tickled your fancy with that bar.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Now I don't have an answer. I have nothing, not
- 15:43Speaker 5: even a speculation.
- 15:44Speaker 6: The season gets its interesting, you know, trades, I mean
- 15:47Speaker 6: maybe their trades coming up, or free agent deals. Who's
- 15:50Speaker 6: going to break those? I mean, I'm sure the big ones.
- 15:51Speaker 6: We know it'll be the shifters and the rap reports.
- 15:54Speaker 6: But but that was kind of a key story over
- 15:57Speaker 6: those first couple of weeks where these other Guysically.
- 16:00Speaker 4: There's a there's a leak that the league closes very
- 16:05Speaker 4: quickly when that type of stuff happens, Like maybe they
- 16:08Speaker 4: have access to a database or an onboarding like database.
- 16:14Speaker 4: In particular with one of the guys, I think is
- 16:16Speaker 4: how he's getting access. You know, he's got a password
- 16:19Speaker 4: from somebody.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Well, there is a thing called the Management Council dat dashboard. Yeah,
- 16:25Speaker 2: and certain you have to be at a certain level
- 16:27Speaker 2: of the team. But once you have access to that,
- 16:30Speaker 2: you know everybody's contract, you know, coaches, you know, like
- 16:33Speaker 2: every financial thing and transaction that's being considered from every
- 16:39Speaker 2: other team.
- 16:39Speaker 6: Wow, So somebody could hack into that.
- 16:42Speaker 4: That was the That was the the scuttle butt was
- 16:46Speaker 4: that that was one of the people might have access
- 16:48Speaker 4: to that. And my guess is that will get closed eventually.
- 16:52Speaker 4: You know, they'll they'll figure out.
- 16:54Speaker 5: He has access to the council. I don't have that, right.
- 16:59Speaker 5: That's what that's going is why he's getting Well.
- 17:01Speaker 2: No, it's supposed to have that, yeah, right.
- 17:03Speaker 4: My point is that it's not like they're talking to
- 17:06Speaker 4: people and getting this information directly from a reliable source.
- 17:11Speaker 4: They've kind of cheated the system.
- 17:13Speaker 5: So I wondered because a lot of these guys have
- 17:16Speaker 5: ties to the Titans, right, they were they were with
- 17:19Speaker 5: Mike with and I thought, maybe there's a young guy
- 17:22Speaker 5: who maybe had ties with Tennessee, right, and that's how
- 17:26Speaker 5: he was finding out all these guys were going. But
- 17:29Speaker 5: Evans theory makes some sense.
- 17:31Speaker 2: It could be Yeah, just as credible.
- 17:33Speaker 6: So you have access to that system?
- 17:35Speaker 5: Hell no, hell don't you send us that.
- 17:41Speaker 2: My only experience with it is there were a couple
- 17:44Speaker 2: of times where we had job openings and we wanted
- 17:46Speaker 2: to well, somebody from another team would reach out, and
- 17:50Speaker 2: before we actually talked to them, because they're another NFL team,
- 17:53Speaker 2: we'd have to get permission. And the way you do
- 17:55Speaker 2: that is you have to have somebody here who has
- 17:57Speaker 2: access put in the request through that dashboard to the
- 18:01Speaker 2: other team, and then they answer via that dashboard, like
- 18:05Speaker 2: it's okay to talk to Alex. But the reason so
- 18:09Speaker 2: it's all recorded, you know what I mean. So there's
- 18:13Speaker 2: no question did they ask for permission, did they not?
- 18:15Speaker 2: Did they reply? Did it? It's all in the dashboard
- 18:19Speaker 2: and so it's complete visibility to all the teams.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Yeah, what information, though, I'd be.
- 18:25Speaker 2: In the wrong hands Yeah, that's a that's a very
- 18:28Speaker 2: powerful and dangerous platform.
- 18:30Speaker 6: Do you ever get like the book in your town
- 18:32Speaker 6: where it lists like all the government like teachers, everybody
- 18:34Speaker 6: in your town what they get paid. I find that
- 18:36Speaker 6: kind of interesting too, right, Like this teacher is making
- 18:39Speaker 6: like two hundred k.
- 18:40Speaker 8: Well that's the thing you see with like public universities,
- 18:43Speaker 8: and people go crazy about how much the football coaches make.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Well with those universities, you have to right, you have.
- 18:48Speaker 4: To contract is public.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so the first time in his life, probably the
- 18:53Speaker 2: state schools.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Yeah, you can request Bill Belichick's contract and they have
- 18:56Speaker 4: to give it to you.
- 18:57Speaker 9: Ye.
- 18:58Speaker 2: All right, So what else do we got? We got
- 19:00Speaker 2: the Super Bowl coming up. Drake won the ping pong
- 19:03Speaker 2: championship last night, did he? Yeah?
- 19:05Speaker 6: He beat uh Parsons.
- 19:09Speaker 2: He's a.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Kind of funny. I mean, you would expect the youngest
- 19:16Speaker 6: brother of four boys probably pretty good at ping pong.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Anything you could play in the basement of living, really
- 19:23Speaker 2: good at.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I was not surprised to hear that he won, because
- 19:26Speaker 4: when I wrote the feature about when the Patriots drafted
- 19:29Speaker 4: Drake May, one of his coaches down in North Carolina
- 19:32Speaker 4: told me about him playing ping pong and their facility
- 19:35Speaker 4: against and he's he's quite good and quite intense, takes
- 19:40Speaker 4: it very.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Does does he have no, he's got not for the
- 19:43Speaker 6: Forrest gump cript. I think no.
- 19:45Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 19:45Speaker 6: I didn't see it. Didn't look like they were.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Too he was he apparently when he would lose, he
- 19:53Speaker 4: would not take it.
- 19:54Speaker 6: Well, I love it.
- 19:56Speaker 8: The ping pong table every couple of months.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the story that he told. It was
- 20:00Speaker 4: exactly for that purpose. Mic was to kind of show
- 20:03Speaker 4: his competitiveness, and he's like, he doesn't want to lose
- 20:05Speaker 4: it anything, even ping pong. You know.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Good.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Yeah, after that performance in the Pro Bowl games, I
- 20:10Speaker 6: like it though, Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 4: But this is more important.
- 20:12Speaker 6: I feel great now we're on track.
- 20:16Speaker 5: A little ping pong more important than throwing.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Especially something, you know.
- 20:24Speaker 2: So, So next up for the football staff is I
- 20:27Speaker 2: guess getting ready for the combine.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Yeah right, yeah, yeah.
- 20:30Speaker 4: They usually do their February draft prep meetings over the
- 20:34Speaker 4: next couple of weeks where they do start to stack
- 20:37Speaker 4: a little bit and start to to get the board.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Vertically and horizoned exactly.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Okay, they start to get the board at least a
- 20:45Speaker 4: general idea of who you know, because you can only
- 20:48Speaker 4: technically request so many interviews at the combine, so you
- 20:50Speaker 4: have to get that list together and and sort of
- 20:54Speaker 4: put a close to the in person scouting. Now that
- 20:57Speaker 4: the All Star Games are over and get into this part.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Can you ask guys to show up at your facility
- 21:02Speaker 2: and do private workouts.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I don't know the actual date, but I think it's
- 21:07Speaker 4: it's definitely after the com after the combin Yeah, okay.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't get an early look at somebody, I
- 21:12Speaker 2: don't think so no, no, and thereby not having to
- 21:16Speaker 2: interview that many at the combine.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Oh, I see, I don't believe so no, But you
- 21:20Speaker 4: can go to their campus as many times as you.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Want, starting one now, No, after I think it's after
- 21:26Speaker 2: the combat, after the combine. Right, you can go, right,
- 21:28Speaker 2: you can go anywhere you want. It's just you're limited
- 21:30Speaker 2: to how many you can bring here.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Correct, yep.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Okay, So that we'll look forward to that. We'll have
- 21:35Speaker 2: a full contingent down at the Combine producing content and reports.
- 21:40Speaker 2: So looking forward to that number five, number five.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Fred, you and I will anchor coverage from Yep, we'll.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Be here, correct, yep.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Check in with you guys, give you the move.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Has that any word any word about Barth? Have they
- 21:53Speaker 2: opened up the purse strings to allow him to go?
- 21:55Speaker 4: He told me that he was going to play your
- 21:57Speaker 4: your rant for his bosses.
- 22:00Speaker 6: There you go.
- 22:00Speaker 2: That's why I did. That's why I did.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I told him we could get him a cot,
- 22:04Speaker 4: you know, I'll put him in the hallway or something.
- 22:09Speaker 8: It was like a divider wall. Maybe you sleep on
- 22:13Speaker 8: one side his heads.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Next year, I will admit we have shared a hotel
- 22:18Speaker 4: room together, but ahead him on the other side of
- 22:24Speaker 4: the queen And yeah, that's fine. And in a couple
- 22:29Speaker 4: of places Buffalo.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Imagine you guys, just like, who are you thinking about?
- 22:34Speaker 4: Mason?
- 22:38Speaker 5: Nice thoughts.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Barth talks into sleep, so Evan stays up.
- 22:42Speaker 4: And it's been a while. So it's been since the
- 22:44Speaker 4: Clintons days since we've done that. So it's been a minute.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, what else? What else? We're going to do
- 22:53Speaker 2: their super Bowl We're going to do our super Bowl
- 22:57Speaker 2: picks later in the show. Got some props there, you
- 23:00Speaker 2: have some props.
- 23:01Speaker 5: I did a few, not not a ton, but I
- 23:04Speaker 5: just did some straightforward stuff like like Matt usually does
- 23:07Speaker 5: for the weekly stuff, you know, Barkley rushing yards and
- 23:12Speaker 5: my homes passing and all that kind.
- 23:15Speaker 2: So if you want to call in and give us
- 23:16Speaker 2: your super Bowl pick, maybe Paul will keep a poll
- 23:19Speaker 2: and we'll see what put a little pole to get
- 23:21Speaker 2: a little poll together. Chiefs of Eagles.
- 23:24Speaker 5: If I do have some over unders for the newsletter
- 23:27Speaker 5: coming up, I got to answer those.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah, eight five five pass five hundred is the TPX
- 23:32Speaker 2: Outline podcast at Patriots dot com. Is the email address.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Got a lot of emails coming in.
- 23:38Speaker 5: So a bunch of reads.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Thank you for that. I just want to make sure
- 23:41Speaker 2: that we got everything on the table before we get
- 23:43Speaker 2: into our listeners.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I think that's that's about.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Anything happened down the super Bowl.
- 23:48Speaker 5: So how about this for the Super Bowl? I would say,
- 23:52Speaker 5: if you guys disagree, you can let me know. But
- 23:55Speaker 5: I would say it's been kind of quiet. Yeah, I
- 23:57Speaker 5: would you say, this is not necessarily uh.
- 24:00Speaker 6: The Miles Scares superquesting a trade. I feel like it's
- 24:02Speaker 6: one of the Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 4: But I'm talking about the super Trade.
- 24:06Speaker 5: That's where I was going to get.
- 24:07Speaker 8: Yeah, you're right.
- 24:08Speaker 5: They kind of kind of they kind of hijacked the
- 24:11Speaker 5: super Bowl week.
- 24:12Speaker 2: No, a little bit. Yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 4: I mean the Luca Do trade is one of the
- 24:16Speaker 4: most surprising trades of my lifetime.
- 24:18Speaker 8: Videos were like DJ's were in a club and they
- 24:20Speaker 8: stocked their set to announce the trade.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, there's been some really big shocking trade.
- 24:27Speaker 8: I can remember it, but.
- 24:28Speaker 5: That's obviously the biggest. But there's other like the Jimmy
- 24:32Speaker 5: Butler trade is big too. There was even.
- 24:35Speaker 8: Fans breaking for the trade. Chris Loved sitting on the
- 24:38Speaker 8: bench was kind of wild. Kevin Love. That's I love
- 24:43Speaker 8: Kevin Love, like.
- 24:44Speaker 4: We know maybe yeah, we really.
- 24:50Speaker 8: He did some great some great modeling. He had a
- 24:53Speaker 8: Banana Republic campaign. I really enjoyed. His wife is a
- 24:58Speaker 8: great model that I like her too.
- 25:00Speaker 4: We got it. They all love Kevin.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Isn't he really old? Yeah, but I just feel like
- 25:08Speaker 6: he's been.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Around NBA talk for you, getting back to football.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Your show tried to make some news yesterday. They weren't successful,
- 25:19Speaker 2: but they had Malcolm Butler on Felger and Mas and
- 25:22Speaker 2: they peppered him trying again. You know, you know, Malcolm
- 25:27Speaker 2: was sticking to the coach's decision answer.
- 25:31Speaker 6: What was that like for you guys when you were
- 25:33Speaker 6: you guys went to that Super Bowl, right, you actually
- 25:34Speaker 6: got to watch it from the building in the.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Side top some more of my Facebook memories that have
- 25:39Speaker 5: just been peppering me all week.
- 25:42Speaker 6: What was that because I don't know. I mean I
- 25:44Speaker 6: remember on TV they were talking about it, but it
- 25:46Speaker 6: was not just out of nowhere. I mean, I know
- 25:48Speaker 6: there was reports that he like came late, was sick, like.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Reports before the game.
- 25:52Speaker 6: There was nothing about it. It was just Malcolm Butler
- 25:55Speaker 6: crying on the sidelines during the game.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Andy and I and we didn't know that, like the
- 26:00Speaker 5: whole crying on the sideline because you know, we're in
- 26:03Speaker 5: the auxiliary press box, just not the same as spots
- 26:06Speaker 5: where Fred is so Andy and I are sitting there
- 26:10Speaker 5: and it was like maybe the second series and it
- 26:13Speaker 5: kind of dawned on us and I go, hey, did
- 26:15Speaker 5: you see he goes Butler? And I go, yeah, he
- 26:18Speaker 5: goes no. And it was like the second series before
- 26:21Speaker 5: we realized this is a guy who plays like every
- 26:23Speaker 5: play and he hasn't been on the field yet. And
- 26:25Speaker 5: then we didn't realize that, you know, al Michaels would
- 26:28Speaker 5: you know they had talked about it and they showed
- 26:31Speaker 5: that clip that's now sort of iconic.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Well, there wasn't.
- 26:35Speaker 5: No, we had no idea.
- 26:36Speaker 2: There was a report that was kind of circulating in
- 26:40Speaker 2: Minneapolis about the week before they got there that he
- 26:43Speaker 2: was either sick or he was late.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Later he came, he came late. But that a lot
- 26:48Speaker 5: of this stuff came out after.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I thought that. I thought that was going around before,
- 26:52Speaker 2: like Malcolm was in trouble.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Or maybe maybe maybe I just didn't know about it,
- 26:57Speaker 5: But I think I think that was afterwards. But you
- 27:00Speaker 5: could be right, that was before.
- 27:02Speaker 2: But they tried like hell to get him to open up,
- 27:04Speaker 2: and he didn't do it.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Nothing often go to his grave with it.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Yeah, he's going to go to his grave with it.
- 27:13Speaker 4: They're going to profit big lely off of like some
- 27:15Speaker 4: tell all books.
- 27:17Speaker 8: Say he was going to write a book last year.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I think he was making fun of people. Yeah, but
- 27:23Speaker 4: that's like the kind of where it's going now kind
- 27:25Speaker 4: of makes me feel like they're waiting for the right
- 27:27Speaker 4: moment to like strike on on announcing this or revealing
- 27:33Speaker 4: this to.
- 27:37Speaker 2: My all I can guess is that the answer doesn't
- 27:44Speaker 2: benefit either side. There's in other words, there's incentive for
- 27:47Speaker 2: both sides to remain quiet.
- 27:49Speaker 6: I agree, right, Yeah, it doesn't make Malcolm look good
- 27:53Speaker 6: and it does doesn't make Bill look good either.
- 27:56Speaker 5: So there was there was a story and I told
- 27:58Speaker 5: you about this. Mike the Ringer had a pretty i
- 28:02Speaker 5: mean pretty lengthy feature on Malcolm Butler in the play,
- 28:05Speaker 5: you know, sort of his his rising, you know, you know,
- 28:09Speaker 5: quick exit from the league. And it was it wasn't
- 28:13Speaker 5: really anything newsworthy. It was no noteworthy items that we
- 28:17Speaker 5: all didn't already know. But I did think it was
- 28:20Speaker 5: it was funny and they had they had a lot
- 28:23Speaker 5: of quotes from Logan Ryan, from Devin mccordy in the piece,
- 28:28Speaker 5: and at one point Devin said that they were like,
- 28:31Speaker 5: you know, come on, you know, why is he not playing?
- 28:34Speaker 5: Why is he not playing? And they went to I
- 28:36Speaker 5: think it was Boyer, Josh Boyer, and said, come on,
- 28:40Speaker 5: you gotta put you gotta put Malcolm in the game.
- 28:42Speaker 5: And Boyer just said to him that it's not my call,
- 28:47Speaker 5: it's the head that's that's the head coach. The head
- 28:50Speaker 5: coach won't let me, I think was the quote that
- 28:52Speaker 5: Boyer had. So I did find it's kind of interesting
- 28:57Speaker 5: that you came down.
- 28:59Speaker 2: The only interesting thing I thought that maybe shed a
- 29:02Speaker 2: little light on it that Malcolm said yesterday is they're
- 29:06Speaker 2: asking him like, what about like just getting in the
- 29:08Speaker 2: second half, and he's like, well, maybe they thought it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I'd it'd be even worse if I was in there.
- 29:13Speaker 6: How could it be worse? Definitely the right right Jonathan
- 29:17Speaker 6: badam Mos remember.
- 29:18Speaker 5: Him, Johnson Johnson remember her respect on the name.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was.
- 29:29Speaker 11: I did.
- 29:29Speaker 5: I did think it was funny when I think Felger
- 29:34Speaker 5: tried to sort of get into it. He's like, so,
- 29:36Speaker 5: you know, like there's been a lot of a lot
- 29:37Speaker 5: of rumors, a lot of stories about that, and he
- 29:40Speaker 5: goes like, well what stories, And he goes, well, what
- 29:42Speaker 5: did you hear? And he goes that you got in
- 29:44Speaker 5: a fight with Seve Buch. He was like right, and
- 29:49Speaker 5: you know, he wouldn't budge. He's like, coach decision. That
- 29:53Speaker 5: was it.
- 29:53Speaker 2: You know, watching that game, it was so frustrating because
- 29:56Speaker 2: Brady is having historical and historical Super Bowl offensive game.
- 30:01Speaker 2: You know, we ends up with over five hundred yards
- 30:04Speaker 2: up and down the field, but we just couldn't get
- 30:07Speaker 2: a stop, couldn't get a stop, and at some point,
- 30:11Speaker 2: you know, one of the greatest defensive minds in football
- 30:15Speaker 2: history has to say I gotta try something, but he
- 30:18Speaker 2: refused to do it. And that's something obviously was Malcolm Butler.
- 30:23Speaker 2: It just watched Philadelphia go up and down with Nick
- 30:26Speaker 2: Foles was so damn frustrating.
- 30:28Speaker 6: Do you look at it anything different now? After that
- 30:30Speaker 6: Dynasty doc where it really seemed like they painted the
- 30:33Speaker 6: picture that in twenty seventeen was where it felt like
- 30:36Speaker 6: Bill kind of started to there were some cracks in
- 30:38Speaker 6: the foundation of him having the team. And I don't know,
- 30:41Speaker 6: I mean if that was a symptom or one of
- 30:44Speaker 6: the reasons why, But I guess in hindsight now it
- 30:47Speaker 6: makes a little bit more sense to me of things
- 30:50Speaker 6: were starting to well, I could go great now.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Listen. I don't know if what the Dynasty was saying
- 30:56Speaker 2: is accurate or not, but I thought that they they
- 31:00Speaker 2: were trying to tell us that Belichick himself started to
- 31:04Speaker 2: change a little bit after Spygate, where he's like he
- 31:07Speaker 2: could trust even less. Like he was always a distrustful person,
- 31:11Speaker 2: you know, close loop of people, but after that he
- 31:15Speaker 2: trust even less people and became even more insular. And
- 31:20Speaker 2: after Spygate, because you know, people around the league who
- 31:23Speaker 2: we thought like he was in a fraternity with like
- 31:26Speaker 2: we're saying stuff about him, and so he started to
- 31:30Speaker 2: change after that. That's what I thought the documentary was
- 31:33Speaker 2: trying to tell us. I don't know if it's true
- 31:35Speaker 2: or not, but that's a message that I got from it.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I get Mike's point, though to me, it makes
- 31:43Speaker 5: it more amazing that they were able to come back
- 31:46Speaker 5: and win it in eighteen. Now, I think that most
- 31:51Speaker 5: Patriots fans would say that that was a team that
- 31:53Speaker 5: maybe out of that era, you know, the least likely.
- 31:59Speaker 5: I mean, when you were getting into December and losing
- 32:01Speaker 5: those games to Miami and Pittsburgh, I don't think a
- 32:04Speaker 5: lot of people are like, yeah, yeah, yes, we're gonna
- 32:07Speaker 5: go and they're gonna win number six. Even though you know,
- 32:10Speaker 5: there was confidence that you know, as long as you
- 32:12Speaker 5: got Brady and Belichick, you got a shot that kind
- 32:14Speaker 5: of stuff. But they did not look good. That team
- 32:18Speaker 5: was not playing great, and they ended up winning the
- 32:22Speaker 5: Super Bowl anyway. But I think the part of what
- 32:24Speaker 5: Mike is saying, like the cracks, but I can't believe
- 32:28Speaker 5: the play Miami happened even now, like a Bill Belichick
- 32:33Speaker 5: coach team allowed that play to happen. Still kind of
- 32:36Speaker 5: every time I see it, I'm almost as much astounded
- 32:40Speaker 5: by it as I was when it happened in real time.
- 32:42Speaker 5: So you can kind of understand what Mike's talking about
- 32:45Speaker 5: the cracks that were starting to show eighteen.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Definitely in the regular season I covered that team and
- 32:50Speaker 4: that that offense was already.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Well on the eighteen offense, Does like take a step back?
- 32:59Speaker 5: All, No, we're time.
- 33:00Speaker 2: No, But I can ask all of you obviously, But
- 33:03Speaker 2: does Josh McDaniels not get enough credit for the way
- 33:06Speaker 2: the offense kind of changed up gears toward the end
- 33:10Speaker 2: of the season.
- 33:12Speaker 4: You can make that argument. Yeah, I mean, definitely those
- 33:14Speaker 4: last two weeks of the season, they said we're gonna,
- 33:17Speaker 4: as they like to call it a regular team, We're
- 33:19Speaker 4: gonna put the full back in the backfield, we're gonna
- 33:21Speaker 4: run the ball, and we're gonna do that sort of thing.
- 33:24Speaker 4: And they kind of warmed up to it those last
- 33:26Speaker 4: two weeks of the year against the Bills and the Jets,
- 33:28Speaker 4: I think it was, and then that carried over into
- 33:32Speaker 4: the playoffs. But really, to me, like Edelman in particular,
- 33:37Speaker 4: like turned another gear on in the postseason. I he
- 33:40Speaker 4: was great throughout that entire postseason run. So he sort
- 33:44Speaker 4: of flipped the switch. And then they had just enough
- 33:46Speaker 4: Gronk still that he made some big plays, you know,
- 33:50Speaker 4: in overtime against Case and the Super Bowl to get
- 33:53Speaker 4: them over the top. But I mean they were relying
- 33:55Speaker 4: on Josh Gordon to be an impact player for them
- 33:58Speaker 4: in eighteen during the regular season, and you could tell
- 34:02Speaker 4: already that the attrition out wide receiver and at the
- 34:04Speaker 4: pass catcher positions was was already catching up to them,
- 34:07Speaker 4: and especially because Gronk just wasn't the same guy. Like
- 34:10Speaker 4: Gronk was clearly slowed by injuries and things like that.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Remember at the beginning of that season, was it that
- 34:16Speaker 2: at the beginning of the season where for an instant
- 34:19Speaker 2: you had Antonio Brown and that was nineteen oh that
- 34:23Speaker 2: was the year after, and you're like, oh my god,
- 34:26Speaker 2: we're gonna have this, Like yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 6: I mean, that was the Thomas for a minute too,
- 34:31Speaker 6: Like I've cut him, I think.
- 34:31Speaker 8: But Littleman was selling T shirts with all the receivers
- 34:34Speaker 8: like this, like they were like the Avenger receivers and stuff.
- 34:37Speaker 8: And then like three days later he had to be like,
- 34:40Speaker 8: all right, sorry about that, guys. If you bought the shirt, right.
- 34:42Speaker 6: I mean, I remember I started here in twenty nineteen.
- 34:44Speaker 6: My first game in this job was at Pittsburgh opener
- 34:48Speaker 6: and they had acquired Antonio Brown I think earlier in
- 34:50Speaker 6: the day maybe or the day before Iron, and they
- 34:53Speaker 6: just rocked the Steelers and then you're like, this team's
- 34:55Speaker 6: gonna add Antonio Brown. I just remember that feeling up
- 34:58Speaker 6: there of like this thing ain't gonna stop, like you know,
- 35:00Speaker 6: and now you know, I get to see it firsthand,
- 35:02Speaker 6: and then you know, that team obviously just completely fell apart.
- 35:05Speaker 4: After that, there was a lot of signs of nineteen
- 35:09Speaker 4: and eighteen, and then Brady, Edelman and Gronk just turned
- 35:13Speaker 4: back the clock one more time for the playoff run
- 35:16Speaker 4: and we're able to do it. But it was already
- 35:19Speaker 4: kind of showing, and I think the relationships were. Looking
- 35:23Speaker 4: back on it, you could kind of tell that Brady
- 35:25Speaker 4: and Belichick were already icy.
- 35:27Speaker 8: And remember when Danny m and Dola left. I remember
- 35:29Speaker 8: Gronk writing like on his Instagram like You're finally free,
- 35:32Speaker 8: be free. Yeah, And that's when you were like, wait,
- 35:36Speaker 8: At least for me, that was the first time I
- 35:37Speaker 8: was like, wait, this isn't all like rainbows and kittens, and.
- 35:41Speaker 5: So we're all say that because that's the perspective of
- 35:45Speaker 5: someone that's still a fan, right still, for lack of
- 35:48Speaker 5: a better word, innocent. Yeah, Like we were talking on
- 35:52Speaker 5: this show, Fred, Mike and I and like talking about
- 35:55Speaker 5: a lot of these things, and remember how much pushback
- 35:57Speaker 5: we would get. This is around the time with a
- 35:59Speaker 5: Wickersham story started to happen, and you know, and not
- 36:02Speaker 5: to play my buddy Feldger's role, but you're making it up.
- 36:05Speaker 5: But they made fun of us all the time. Why
- 36:08Speaker 5: are you talking about this stuff? This is nonsense. This
- 36:11Speaker 5: is not like enemy number one, And it's like, no,
- 36:15Speaker 5: it was all happening, and it's probably way worse than
- 36:18Speaker 5: even we said at the time, and.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Still know yeah, yeah, still we.
- 36:24Speaker 5: Probably don't know the half of it, how bad it was.
- 36:26Speaker 6: Well, hearing Devin's reaction, I just wonder, as a coach,
- 36:29Speaker 6: how do you get that trust back? Like you feel
- 36:32Speaker 6: like you're one of your best players in one of
- 36:36Speaker 6: the biggest moments is kind of being punished and you
- 36:38Speaker 6: don't maybe they know why, I don't know. I mean
- 36:40Speaker 6: this has ever come out? Does everyone know? Or is
- 36:42Speaker 6: this like a bill and Malcolm thing and no one
- 36:43Speaker 6: else has any idea.
- 36:45Speaker 8: I think it's got it. Like Fred said, I think
- 36:48Speaker 8: it has to be that bad where no one looks good.
- 36:51Speaker 8: And I can only understand that, and out of respect
- 36:54Speaker 8: for everyone involved, they've kept quiet.
- 36:55Speaker 5: If they do know, I can only know how many
- 36:57Speaker 5: people know, Yeah, I do. I wonder how many different
- 37:01Speaker 5: people know.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 6: Well the way they cover it too, Now you have
- 37:04Speaker 6: to think that it's not just he had a bad
- 37:06Speaker 6: week of practice and we mentioned him like that. It's
- 37:09Speaker 6: not something simple like that. There's something juicy is the word,
- 37:14Speaker 6: but there's something there.
- 37:15Speaker 2: I can only imagine what the people on that team, offense, defense,
- 37:19Speaker 2: and coaches were thinking going into that second half, and
- 37:23Speaker 2: as a key as Philadelphia is still moving the ball
- 37:27Speaker 2: and another drive goes by and he doesn't play, and
- 37:30Speaker 2: another series goes by, it's like, what's going on?
- 37:33Speaker 4: Especially like surprise wasn't a cop a revolt on like
- 37:38Speaker 4: where like you know he's going he's going back, just
- 37:41Speaker 4: like you know, like a guy like Devin who has
- 37:43Speaker 4: a lot of cachet with Bill going up to Bill
- 37:45Speaker 4: and being like you need we are in trouble, Like
- 37:49Speaker 4: you need to put this guy in.
- 37:50Speaker 5: That's kind of why I asked that question. I wonder
- 37:52Speaker 5: how many people actually know.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but I also wonder, like by the third quarter
- 37:57Speaker 2: or something, if people didn't actually go up to mountain
- 38:00Speaker 2: him and then like, no's he's jelly, he's he can't function,
- 38:04Speaker 2: He's it's too late, we've lost him. I don't know.
- 38:07Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 38:08Speaker 4: It's a good point.
- 38:09Speaker 5: That's a possibility.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 38:11Speaker 5: It's cold, he hasn't done anything all day. It's just
- 38:14Speaker 5: silay specialty.
- 38:17Speaker 6: Three super bowls ago. Yeah, he was the hero three
- 38:20Speaker 6: super bowls. You know, at that point, like not that
- 38:23Speaker 6: it's connected, but still it's you know, this guy won
- 38:27Speaker 6: on a Super Bowl with a play. We need him please,
- 38:29Speaker 6: you know.
- 38:30Speaker 4: It was the the trickle down effect too, is just
- 38:34Speaker 4: they didn't have a They didn't have anybody to play
- 38:36Speaker 4: the slot, so like Patrick Chung was playing this a
- 38:38Speaker 4: slot corner role on Nelson freaking Aguilar, who they couldn't
- 38:42Speaker 4: cover because he's played, you know, he's they have a
- 38:45Speaker 4: safety covering a wide receiver because Eric Rowe had to
- 38:48Speaker 4: play on the outside because Malcolm Butler wasn't playing. So
- 38:51Speaker 4: it was like everybody blames Johnson Bademosi, that poor guy.
- 38:55Speaker 4: But really it was it was bigger than that, Like,
- 38:58Speaker 4: it was a whole trickle down effect in the secondary.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Jordan Richard, Jordan Richard.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Everybody except for Steph. Yeah, like you know, I think
- 39:08Speaker 5: it was Jeffrey gave him problems early and then they
- 39:10Speaker 5: put Steph on him. That kind of eliminated Jeffrey and
- 39:13Speaker 5: then they couldn't stop anybody else.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Yeah, they tried to. You know, let put what's put
- 39:18Speaker 4: step on the number two.
- 39:20Speaker 2: And doesn't imagine what you know, Brady wins that game
- 39:24Speaker 2: all the all the yards, record number of yards for
- 39:27Speaker 2: an offense quarterback.
- 39:30Speaker 5: I still can make it. You can make an argument.
- 39:33Speaker 5: I don't think it's flawed, but you can make an
- 39:35Speaker 5: argument if they win that game, it's a.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Three beats yeah, and well, yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 5: It's flawed because you don't know what happens the next year.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Everything changes.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I still think that he might have retired after that game.
- 39:45Speaker 5: Yeah, that's one thing that could have happened. Yeah, like
- 39:48Speaker 5: you remember that that was the year that he had
- 39:50Speaker 5: the whole Facebook series, right, the documentary series.
- 39:53Speaker 2: And I think they had that last episode in the
- 39:55Speaker 2: can you know, or at least written and they had
- 39:58Speaker 2: to rewrite it.
- 39:59Speaker 6: He would have come if he retired after that, I
- 40:01Speaker 6: bet he would have come back. He would have like
- 40:02Speaker 6: it would have been a whole thing, and he would
- 40:04Speaker 6: have gotten into eighteen and he would have been like no.
- 40:06Speaker 5: But I'm just saying like just because like I think
- 40:08Speaker 5: a lot of people just say, well, they won in sixteen,
- 40:10Speaker 5: they won in eighteen. They could have won in seventeen.
- 40:12Speaker 5: That would have been a three peat. I think Fred's right.
- 40:14Speaker 5: You don't know what would have happened had they won
- 40:16Speaker 5: that game instead of lost it, right, And that's a
- 40:19Speaker 5: big part of it. Tom could have retired.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Yeah, would we still be talking about Malcolm Butler if
- 40:24Speaker 6: they had won that game, you know.
- 40:26Speaker 5: We'd be talking about He'll be a mystery.
- 40:28Speaker 6: But they got that what they had a fourth down stop, right,
- 40:30Speaker 6: Like they had a chance to kind of seal that game.
- 40:32Speaker 6: If I think if they had a fourth down stop.
- 40:33Speaker 6: There was one fourth down stop and I think Bata
- 40:34Speaker 6: Mosi gave up a catch.
- 40:36Speaker 4: Actually getting mashed.
- 40:37Speaker 5: It was actually it was actually death on zach Ertz
- 40:41Speaker 5: caught like fourth and two.
- 40:43Speaker 4: That one too.
- 40:44Speaker 6: Yeah, but Brady could.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Just be just a correct The game wouldn't have been
- 40:47Speaker 5: over maybe right right, but they did have a chance
- 40:51Speaker 5: to get off They did have a chance to get
- 40:52Speaker 5: off the field on that last drive.
- 40:55Speaker 6: Yep, Nick Foles, everybody he played, I mean he played.
- 41:00Speaker 6: I mean, what is it about? Like just dopey white
- 41:02Speaker 6: guys like him and Eli Manning, like the Patriots.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Like that's what it is.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Let's see get to the emails at podcasts at Patriots
- 41:11Speaker 2: dot com. Aspin isn't reading. He says, I hope you're
- 41:14Speaker 2: doing well. Just need to say that every time Paul
- 41:17Speaker 2: sings it's gonna be may When you talk about Drake
- 41:19Speaker 2: may it makes me so happy. That was my exact
- 41:22Speaker 2: reaction when we drafted him. Anyway, looking at the coaching staff,
- 41:26Speaker 2: I'm wondering what your overall impressions are, of course, but
- 41:29Speaker 2: also why you think Matthew Slater will not be returning.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Was he only involved last year because of his relationship
- 41:35Speaker 2: that he and Mayo had and maybe he and Vrabel
- 41:37Speaker 2: do not have that same relationship. Regardless, it's a little
- 41:40Speaker 2: sad to lose him, as he had good relationship with
- 41:43Speaker 2: so much of the team. Another non coaching question, Jacoby
- 41:47Speaker 2: Brissett will be a free agent this year. And I
- 41:49Speaker 2: haven't heard you mentioned him much so far. What do
- 41:52Speaker 2: you speculate he'll do stay with us for one more year,
- 41:55Speaker 2: join another struggling team, retire, Thank you, you're welcome.
- 42:00Speaker 6: I don't think he'll stay.
- 42:00Speaker 5: I think he'll join a struggling team. Yeah.
- 42:03Speaker 4: I can't imagine he'll stay us to see what options
- 42:06Speaker 4: are out there.
- 42:07Speaker 8: I'm not signing back up.
- 42:08Speaker 5: And I don't know the Slater part of that. I
- 42:10Speaker 5: don't have any information on.
- 42:13Speaker 6: Kind of assistance to that coach, right.
- 42:15Speaker 5: And he doesn't. I mean, he wouldn't have that relationship
- 42:18Speaker 5: he played. I think you might have overlapped with one eight. Yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 5: so he wouldn't necessarily have that, you know, certainly not
- 42:26Speaker 5: as much experience with Rabel as he did with Mayo.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Troy Brown too. I mean a couple of guys that
- 42:31Speaker 6: have been.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Haven't heard his name. Jeff and Melbourne. Big news coming
- 42:37Speaker 2: out of the NFL having to do with Australia, he says.
- 42:41Speaker 2: So it's happening the NFL is coming to Melbourne and
- 42:44Speaker 2: there's a slim chance that the New England Patriots could
- 42:46Speaker 2: be the opponents for the Rams.
- 42:48Speaker 6: Please, I don't think you don't want to go to Australia.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Norah, I love that trip Chargers.
- 42:58Speaker 2: It's going to be two West Coast teams.
- 43:00Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, twenty six Oh.
- 43:02Speaker 5: I would go to Australia.
- 43:03Speaker 4: I do want to say there is a lot.
- 43:05Speaker 8: Of Patriots in Australia.
- 43:07Speaker 6: There's a small chance if the Patriots were to finish
- 43:10Speaker 6: the same slot the Rams this year, so EC West.
- 43:14Speaker 5: And we played that, we played that one one random
- 43:18Speaker 5: game yep.
- 43:19Speaker 6: Is an NFC West team in.
- 43:20Speaker 5: NFC West that falls in the same position, yep, So
- 43:23Speaker 5: if we finished same as a chance there.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Is if the Patriots and Rams finish in the same
- 43:27Speaker 2: position in the Division of twenty twenty five, ninth away
- 43:30Speaker 2: game for the Patriots or corresponding NFC West opponent. I'm
- 43:34Speaker 2: obviously getting ahead of myself, but given the hypothetical possibility,
- 43:38Speaker 2: could we also have a PU down under Oh jeez.
- 43:42Speaker 5: I guess that probably wouldn't happen, Like it'd be more
- 43:46Speaker 5: like London this year. I would think road game not
- 43:49Speaker 5: in our market, blah blah blah blah.
- 43:51Speaker 6: Especially you feel like the Patriots will have a Brazil
- 43:53Speaker 6: game soon.
- 43:53Speaker 2: I think, well, it's going to get to the point
- 43:55Speaker 2: that every team is going to have one international game
- 43:58Speaker 2: every year, every year, every year.
- 43:59Speaker 5: That's Fred's it's theory, sixteen international games.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Why do they do this to me?
- 44:03Speaker 2: I know.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Flight I have no desire to fly eighteen hours to
- 44:08Speaker 4: australia'll but the only way you.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Could do it for is whoever's playing place there is Well,
- 44:15Speaker 2: you can't do both, but you need a lot of time.
- 44:19Speaker 2: It's like from the East Coast, I do think it's
- 44:22Speaker 2: an eighteen hour flight. Yeah, yeah, yeah, in Australia, it's crazy.
- 44:27Speaker 4: I just I mean, you definitely have to have to buy, definitely.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Community to buy.
- 44:31Speaker 8: You need to be out there all week at least.
- 44:34Speaker 6: And that's I mean with the team, send the whole party,
- 44:38Speaker 6: you know, the whole Germany party, you know, everybody were
- 44:40Speaker 6: I'm saying that's probably more rams thing than like like.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Last year, like London, it was just a just a
- 44:46Speaker 5: road game.
- 44:46Speaker 6: That's why I say Brazil, like Brazil was probably you know,
- 44:49Speaker 6: we'll probably do it where it's a home market and
- 44:51Speaker 6: market for US now in international market that but I
- 44:54Speaker 6: don't know, if it was an away game, you're probably
- 44:55Speaker 6: just gonna send like last year, right, that is what
- 44:57Speaker 6: I would think.
- 44:58Speaker 4: It's actually a twenty one hour, twenty hours playing.
- 45:01Speaker 6: For that long without you got to get one of those.
- 45:04Speaker 5: You got to get one of those, like inflatable doughnuts.
- 45:07Speaker 5: I don't want I don't want to change.
- 45:11Speaker 8: That's a first class upgrade.
- 45:13Speaker 5: I got that. I got that for London once.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Bill in San Diego. Two quick questions, Why does it
- 45:21Speaker 2: appear that no one is concerned about all these former
- 45:23Speaker 2: head coaches who took jobs. They are clearly overqualified for
- 45:27Speaker 2: jumping ship after one season for better positions. So, in
- 45:30Speaker 2: other words, how long will these this staff stay to
- 45:33Speaker 2: gain us?
- 45:33Speaker 6: I think I trust that Rabel has full control of
- 45:36Speaker 6: the team, and I don't think he's so I don't
- 45:39Speaker 6: worry about him.
- 45:40Speaker 5: I think this is one of those This is kind
- 45:42Speaker 5: of like an s I d stat to me that
- 45:43Speaker 5: they have four head coaches, like Thomas Brown was ninterim
- 45:48Speaker 5: coach for like five games. He wasn't even an offensive
- 45:52Speaker 5: coordinator until someone lost their job, Like he never even
- 45:55Speaker 5: called plays until Frank Wright got fired, relinquish play calling
- 45:59Speaker 5: and then got fired like Doug Maroon. To me, at
- 46:03Speaker 5: this point it is probably he's probably not going to
- 46:05Speaker 5: be a head coach somewhere else Josh Ben McAdoo. I
- 46:08Speaker 5: don't think he's going to be a head coach somewhere. Josh,
- 46:12Speaker 5: I think is comfortable here in New England, and I
- 46:16Speaker 5: think he's had two chances. Now, you want to say
- 46:19Speaker 5: that you're worried about too many cooks in the kitchen,
- 46:22Speaker 5: maybe you know, with the amount of head coaches and
- 46:25Speaker 5: maybe you know, I don't know. It's just Doug Moron
- 46:28Speaker 5: and Thomas Brown think they maybe know how to run
- 46:30Speaker 5: the offense better than Josh McDaniels and this butting heads that.
- 46:34Speaker 5: I think that's always a concern on a coaching staff.
- 46:37Speaker 5: But I don't worry about these guys are going to
- 46:39Speaker 5: be head coaches and they're gonna leave in a year.
- 46:41Speaker 5: I don't worry about it that way.
- 46:42Speaker 4: I would worry more about I don't count Thomas Brown either. Yeah,
- 46:48Speaker 4: I would worry more about those types of guys though.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Thomas Brown, Ashton Grant, Scott Booker, like, those guys have
- 46:55Speaker 4: all been sort of on the rise, if you will,
- 46:58Speaker 4: in terms of on that co ordinator track, uh and
- 47:01Speaker 4: Thomas Brown like I could easily see Thomas Brown jumping
- 47:05Speaker 4: ship next year for an offensive coordinator job because that
- 47:08Speaker 4: that's the title pass game coordinator and tight ends coach
- 47:11Speaker 4: is like the new title to be on that that pipeline.
- 47:15Speaker 5: So I don't worry about it any more than I
- 47:17Speaker 5: normally would with my position coaches.
- 47:19Speaker 4: No, And I think the and I think they've built
- 47:21Speaker 4: in expectation that that might happen, Like a guy like
- 47:24Speaker 4: Riley Larkin for example, is probably the next Ashton Grant
- 47:28Speaker 4: for them. And you know, I think they have tried
- 47:30Speaker 4: to build in with some of those assistants with expectation
- 47:35Speaker 4: that some of these guys might lead.
- 47:36Speaker 5: So and Chuckie Keaton on paper are Josh McDaniels and
- 47:41Speaker 5: Brian Dable in two thousand.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the way to do it.
- 47:45Speaker 5: And that's I think that's Evan's point is YEA, hopefully
- 47:48Speaker 5: you have them and you you train them, and then
- 47:50Speaker 5: when you start to have some attrition, you have somebody
- 47:53Speaker 5: who can step into a positional coach.
- 47:55Speaker 2: At your bench strength. Everyone thought Josh mcdanzis was a
- 48:00Speaker 2: safe higher. Why does no one think there is no
- 48:02Speaker 2: chance that if a head coaching job at Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia,
- 48:05Speaker 2: et cetera, opened up, he wouldn't jump ship to take
- 48:07Speaker 2: a job there after one season.
- 48:09Speaker 5: Josh McDaniels, Yeah, college. I don't think he'd be offered it.
- 48:14Speaker 5: Mike Rabel. I'd worry a little bit about something like
- 48:16Speaker 5: that if Ohio State. I have no idea before anybody
- 48:20Speaker 5: get Day literally.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Just signed an extension to No, no.
- 48:23Speaker 5: No, I understand that, And he could get fired next
- 48:26Speaker 5: year easily.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Well, he won a national championships.
- 48:28Speaker 5: Right, and he could get fired next year if he
- 48:30Speaker 5: loses to Michigan again. So I have no idea that
- 48:34Speaker 5: Mike would be more interested in Ohio State than you know,
- 48:38Speaker 5: prefer Ohio State over the Patriots. But I could see
- 48:40Speaker 5: that argument. If that were the case, I'd much more
- 48:43Speaker 5: worried about Mike Rabel coaches for two years and then
- 48:47Speaker 5: goes and replaces Ryan Day at Ohio State, then I
- 48:49Speaker 5: would Josh McDaniels is getting a college job. Do you
- 48:53Speaker 5: guys think that Josh McDaniels is going to be like
- 48:56Speaker 5: a candidate for Oregon?
- 48:57Speaker 6: No?
- 48:57Speaker 2: No, no, All right, my food's here. Oh good, So
- 49:01Speaker 2: we're going to take a quick break. We'll get the
- 49:04Speaker 2: Super Bowl picks and props later in the show, but

- 50:10Speaker 11: So of course it's gonna snow.
- 50:12Speaker 9: Of course, I think the forecast said spotty little bit, maybe.
- 50:16Speaker 11: Not eight inches of snow all day long? Right, and
- 50:19Speaker 11: so we get there.
- 50:20Speaker 9: I don't think it's snow and yet it's overcast like
- 50:22Speaker 9: it is most every day, you know, in the fall
- 50:24Speaker 9: and the winter time. But it starts to snow when
- 50:27Speaker 9: we go out there in like pregame warm up, like
- 50:30Speaker 9: checking out the field and checking out everything, and what
- 50:33Speaker 9: I remember is like the biggest snowflakes you've ever seen.
- 50:35Speaker 9: I mean, gigantic, super cool cinematography wise, you know, if
- 50:40Speaker 9: you're taking a camera, you're taking pictures.
- 50:41Speaker 11: It's awesome.
- 50:42Speaker 9: But to play in it sucks. You know, starts snowing
- 50:44Speaker 9: hard and harder and harder. Now you can't even really
- 50:47Speaker 9: see across the field to the other sideline. I'm like,
- 50:50Speaker 9: this is gonna be absolutely miserable. But I'm thinking this
- 50:53Speaker 9: team from California, Oakland, they can't handle this. We're gonna
- 50:56Speaker 9: whoop their butts in this stuff. And they come out
- 50:58Speaker 9: and play really solid game most of the game. They're
- 51:01Speaker 9: they're sticking it to us, right, They're playing really well.
- 51:03Speaker 9: So and as a game progresses on, it just gets
- 51:07Speaker 9: more and more and more, and you know, it was
- 51:10Speaker 9: it was interesting going out there watching the whole tuck
- 51:14Speaker 9: rule stuff and all that. You know, when when Woodson
- 51:17Speaker 9: goes around the corner, and you know, hits Tom's arm strip,
- 51:21Speaker 9: sack or arm coming forward whatever. I'm sitting there thinking, ah, Jesus,
- 51:25Speaker 9: cleaning out our locker tomorrow, right. I'm like, cause it
- 51:27Speaker 9: looked like a fumble to me, right. And then all
- 51:30Speaker 9: of a sudden the referees all right, we're under review,
- 51:32Speaker 9: and I'm like, okay, well.
- 51:35Speaker 11: Thank goodness. The rule at that time was what it is.
- 51:37Speaker 11: I get it. And they change the rule after that,
- 51:39Speaker 11: I get it.
- 51:40Speaker 9: But the way they they judged it that way was
- 51:43Speaker 9: the right call. And I'm thinking to myself as I'm
- 51:46Speaker 9: watching that, I'm thinking, man, we're cleaning out of the locker.
- 51:48Speaker 9: And then all of a sudden, the realism comes on
- 51:50Speaker 9: to me, is like, you're gonna have to kick the
- 51:52Speaker 9: hardest kick in your entire life, probably to give us
- 51:57Speaker 9: a chance after that. So Kenny Walter is my whole
- 52:00Speaker 9: old comes up to me and he says, hey, Adam,
- 52:03Speaker 9: all the snow, all this stuff, he said, I'm not
- 52:05Speaker 9: going to even try to spin it, he said, I'm
- 52:06Speaker 9: just gonna put it down and wherever the laces are,
- 52:09Speaker 9: the laces are. And I'm like, you're building it to
- 52:11Speaker 9: a confidence for me right now, Bud, thanks a lot
- 52:13Speaker 9: for this, but so literally we went out there, it's
- 52:16Speaker 9: forty five yards. Try to get a quick sweep off
- 52:21Speaker 9: of the ground. And I'm thinking to myself, listen, you
- 52:23Speaker 9: got to think like three things. Slow steps to it,
- 52:27Speaker 9: and I've got like as long as cleats in my
- 52:29Speaker 9: plant foot as I can to get a little bit
- 52:31Speaker 9: of traction and stuff like that. But I'm thinking they're
- 52:33Speaker 9: not going to be able to rush fast, so my
- 52:35Speaker 9: timing can be a little bit slower because they're not
- 52:38Speaker 9: going to be as fast either, So don't worry about
- 52:40Speaker 9: that necessarily. But you're thinking, like you're trying to run
- 52:45Speaker 9: on ice, right, you can't take big long strides. You're
- 52:47Speaker 9: going to slide and fall on your button. So I'm
- 52:49Speaker 9: thinking shorter steps, try to just try to get your
- 52:52Speaker 9: foot in place. Try to get the ball above the
- 52:55Speaker 9: line of scrimmage. I didn't want to smack my center
- 52:58Speaker 9: in the butt. You know that didn't work out very good.
- 53:00Speaker 9: So I'm like, get it above the line of scrimmage.
- 53:02Speaker 9: They're not going to be able to get a good push,
- 53:04Speaker 9: so it's not you know, not as imperative to get
- 53:06Speaker 9: it as high. If you can think of all this
- 53:08Speaker 9: stuff as you're going out there. But I'm just thinking,
- 53:10Speaker 9: you have to get it online and give yourself a chance, right, So.
- 53:15Speaker 11: Get to the ball, kick it. You know.
- 53:18Speaker 9: I look up, I'm like, okay, I didn't fall down,
- 53:20Speaker 9: got it above the line of scrimmage. It looks like
- 53:22Speaker 9: it's going fairly straight, but it still got to go
- 53:25Speaker 9: forty five yards and in a blizzard's not an easy kick.
- 53:28Speaker 11: And honest to God, as it's leaving, I'm like, got
- 53:31Speaker 11: a chance. You're right.
- 53:32Speaker 9: I'm like, okay, maybe, but but when it got to
- 53:35Speaker 9: the uprights, it's snowing so hard. I wasn't sure. I
- 53:38Speaker 9: couldn't really tell until the referees went forward and raise
- 53:40Speaker 9: their hand.
- 53:41Speaker 11: I'm like, oh my god, I made this kick.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Like I know.
- 53:43Speaker 9: The reporters said, you know, after the game, like, oh,
- 53:46Speaker 9: you know, what's the percentage?
- 53:47Speaker 11: I'm like, I don't know, you know. I'm like I
- 53:50Speaker 11: look back at that and go, that's two percent.
- 53:52Speaker 12: You know.
- 53:52Speaker 9: I like, honest to God, I don't know how many
- 53:54Speaker 9: times you can make that. But made it when I
- 53:57Speaker 9: needed to, you know, kind of had had a plan,
- 54:00Speaker 9: kind of executed the plan. You know, I didn't want
- 54:02Speaker 9: it to come off like a two iron super low.
- 54:04Speaker 9: But that's the best I could do at the time,
- 54:06Speaker 9: and it was.
- 54:07Speaker 11: It was good enough.
- 54:08Speaker 5: And then you get you know that it unfolds into
- 54:10Speaker 5: overtime and I know, Matt, you know, we were talking
- 54:13Speaker 5: about this a little bit almost anti climatic because there
- 54:15Speaker 5: was so much shorter, but there's still all that snow
- 54:17Speaker 5: on the field. Oh no, more than it was before.
- 54:20Speaker 5: Same mindset.
- 54:21Speaker 9: The only good thing, if you could say a good thing,
- 54:24Speaker 9: is yes, it was twenty three, twenty four years whatever, shorter, shorter,
- 54:29Speaker 9: but we call time out. Our guys are trying to
- 54:31Speaker 9: clear off as much snow as possible, and then Gruden
- 54:35Speaker 9: maybe the only time that you should maybe not try
- 54:38Speaker 9: to ice the kicker, if you will, because it gave
- 54:39Speaker 9: us another thirty seconds. We cleared a little bit more snow,
- 54:43Speaker 9: wasn't completely clear, but it was way way more clear,
- 54:46Speaker 9: way easier. That one was one of those like yeah,
- 54:49Speaker 9: you're gonna make this, Like like I had all the
- 54:51Speaker 9: confidence the world that I was gonna make that and
- 54:53Speaker 9: kick it a look up.
- 54:54Speaker 11: I'm like, thank god, So yeah, it was, it was.
- 54:58Speaker 11: It was. It was a wild day.
- 55:00Speaker 9: I'm happy that it happened that way, never would want
- 55:03Speaker 9: to do it again just because, but no, it was
- 55:07Speaker 9: pretty awesome. I've played in a few crazy games in
- 55:10Speaker 9: Buffalo and stuff, but that one is, that forty five
- 55:14Speaker 9: yarder to tie the game is by far my favorite
- 55:18Speaker 9: kick I've ever made, even Super Bowl kicks and all that,
- 55:21Speaker 9: just because the difficulty level was as hard as you
- 55:25Speaker 9: could get.
- 55:26Speaker 11: You miss it, the season's over.
- 55:28Speaker 9: I mean like you couldn't stack any more negative or
- 55:32Speaker 9: potential stressful situations on top of that kick, and to
- 55:36Speaker 9: make that thing was pretty awesome.
- 55:38Speaker 14: It's really interesting to hear the way you say that,
- 55:40Speaker 14: because there's so many people that it would be, oh,
- 55:43Speaker 14: you know, that's my job and a deflect. When you
- 55:46Speaker 14: hear somebody like Bill Belichick, who's said it many times
- 55:50Speaker 14: and other great historians of the game call it the
- 55:52Speaker 14: single greatest kick in the history of the National Football League,
- 55:56Speaker 14: how does that make you feel?
- 55:59Speaker 11: Well, it's a huge impliment. It's awesome to think that. Whatever.
- 56:03Speaker 9: But as I look at other kicks and other things,
- 56:06Speaker 9: I haven't watched every kick from everything. I know the
- 56:08Speaker 9: Pat summer On one and some of those ones awesome too,
- 56:11Speaker 9: but by far, the most difficult kick I've ever had
- 56:14Speaker 9: to think and or or attempt and yeah, you'd have to,
- 56:18Speaker 9: you'd have to. I'd be hard pressed to find another
- 56:21Speaker 9: one that stacks up to that. But you know, thank goodness,
- 56:25Speaker 9: my team gave me an opportunity to try.
- 56:26Speaker 5: It, and a couple of weeks later, yeah, that's that's nothing.
- 56:31Speaker 5: Indoors tie games.
- 56:34Speaker 9: That was pretty awesome too, because I just you know,
- 56:36Speaker 9: that game kind of back and forth and then the
- 56:38Speaker 9: Rams catch up and oh my gosh, you know, and
- 56:41Speaker 9: I remember I remember the commentator John Madden saying, ah,
- 56:47Speaker 9: you know, she'd probably just take a knee, and thank goodness.
- 56:50Speaker 11: We didn't. We had enough time.
- 56:51Speaker 9: And you know, our philosophy, or at least Charlie Weis's philosophy, is,
- 56:55Speaker 9: you know, let's see if we get a couple first downs,
- 56:56Speaker 9: if we can, if we can get in range.
- 56:59Speaker 11: In that year, I think we had I think I
- 57:01Speaker 11: had five game winners, including that.
- 57:03Speaker 9: One in the one and so we were blowing teams out,
- 57:07Speaker 9: but we were winning games. And that's the cool thing
- 57:09Speaker 9: about our team that particular year is we lost to
- 57:12Speaker 9: the Rams earlier in the year, but it was a
- 57:14Speaker 9: good game, came right down to the end, and we
- 57:16Speaker 9: built a lot of confidence in that game, and knowing
- 57:19Speaker 9: that every close game we were just.
- 57:22Speaker 11: Building more confidence and more confidence.
- 57:24Speaker 9: And I literally remember them kicking off to us and
- 57:27Speaker 9: I go, we got a minute and a half left.
- 57:28Speaker 9: I've seen Tom do it all year long, Like, hell yeah,
- 57:31Speaker 9: we're gonna do it again, right, j R. Edmund Troy
- 57:33Speaker 9: Brown and bing dinking, you know, Jermaine Wiggins has one,
- 57:38Speaker 9: just a couple of places, bang bang bang bang all
- 57:40Speaker 9: the way down the field, and I'm just thinking, hell yeah,
- 57:43Speaker 9: you know. And so the feeling for that kick is
- 57:45Speaker 9: never It's a game you dream about it your entire life.
- 57:48Speaker 11: You know, as a little kid, You're like, what's as
- 57:51Speaker 11: a kicker?
- 57:52Speaker 9: That's the dream, right, kicking a game winner in a
- 57:55Speaker 9: Super Bowl. I mean, that's exactly what you think about.
- 57:58Speaker 9: So I'm over in the net and I'm watching, you know,
- 58:01Speaker 9: and I kind of have a routine like, hey, when
- 58:03Speaker 9: we get to a certain yard line, I start to
- 58:05Speaker 9: warm up a little bit, and everything's sped up a
- 58:08Speaker 9: little bit, so you start a little earlier. And it's
- 58:10Speaker 9: funny because in my entire career, when you get ready
- 58:13Speaker 9: for game winners, everybody kind of treats you like you've
- 58:16Speaker 9: got some rare contagiousness.
- 58:18Speaker 11: You gotta letp proceiver. Yeah, nobody wants to talk to you,
- 58:22Speaker 11: touch you say anything to you.
- 58:24Speaker 5: Two guys in my.
- 58:25Speaker 9: Entire career in twenty four years, two guys Willy and lawyer.
- 58:29Speaker 9: Lawyer and my lawyer, the two guys that would say
- 58:31Speaker 9: something to me. And Willy comes up to me as
- 58:33Speaker 9: I'm walking in and he gives me a wuck right
- 58:35Speaker 9: on the book. Come on, man, we hit this second.
- 58:37Speaker 9: I'm like, I can't feels cheek right now, but thank
- 58:40Speaker 9: you for that.
- 58:40Speaker 11: But okay, good, you know.
- 58:42Speaker 2: But and and.
- 58:45Speaker 11: Johnny Rotten, our equipment guy at the time, Johnny hillbrand
- 58:47Speaker 11: And was like, you hit it, I'll get it.
- 58:49Speaker 9: And he takes off down the sideline. So the funny
- 58:52Speaker 9: things that you remember because everything's happening fast but slow
- 58:56Speaker 9: everything slow motion kind of sort of and you know,
- 58:59Speaker 9: we finally you know, dinking and dunkin and dinking and
- 59:01Speaker 9: duncan and Tom spikes the ball and it's all right,
- 59:03Speaker 9: get out there and kick this thing. I'm thinking to myself,
- 59:05Speaker 9: I'm like, forty eight yarder. It's not a chip shot
- 59:08Speaker 9: by any means. It's a long kick. But I'm like,
- 59:11Speaker 9: this is like like I everything's calm and quiet, lots
- 59:17Speaker 9: of stuff is going on, but it just kind of
- 59:18Speaker 9: your world just kind of shrinks to a little bit here.
- 59:22Speaker 11: The only thing that I.
- 59:22Speaker 9: Do remember is Rod Rutledge was my left wing and
- 59:26Speaker 9: dre blies on the other side.
- 59:28Speaker 11: And Rod is talking mad trash to him. Yeah, yeah,
- 59:32Speaker 11: talking all just just talk. I can see it too.
- 59:36Speaker 9: It's like just yesterday, right, And and I'm the kind
- 59:39Speaker 9: of guy that I like to get everybody set because
- 59:41Speaker 9: I don't want to take my steps back and wait
- 59:43Speaker 9: back there for a long time. And so Rod's over here,
- 59:46Speaker 9: just John, just talking trash and I and Kenny's like
- 59:49Speaker 9: waiting for me to get set, and I go, Kenny, make.
- 59:53Speaker 11: Him stop, and he goes.
- 59:54Speaker 15: Rod gets set, you know, and Rod's like, oh, you know,
- 59:57Speaker 15: he gets down right, And so the biggest kick of
- 1:00:00Speaker 15: your life, and this stupid crap is going on in
- 1:00:03Speaker 15: front of you, right, like the stuff that's happening in
- 1:00:05Speaker 15: front of you.
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: And so I take my steps back and Kenny gives
- 1:00:09Speaker 11: a set.
- 1:00:09Speaker 9: Call comes boom boom boom, and it's like that golf
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: shot that you don't even feel hit your club, right
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: like it's just just nutted right, perfect, right, and and
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: I feel it leave my foot and without even looking up,
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: I'm like, oh, that felt really good.
- 1:00:23Speaker 11: And I look up it's dead center and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 1:00:26Speaker 11: you know.
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: And at that point I turn and I'm jumping around
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: and whatever, and Kenny's grabbing me in the confetti starts
- 1:00:32Speaker 9: and all that stuff, and and it was just just yeah,
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: I don't know, you know, it's just amazing at that point.
- 1:00:40Speaker 11: And now, great moments in.
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: History they had. She had one where she was talking
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: smack about your blood cells.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Whoa, oh now it's on.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Now it's wild.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: Now it's well, it's definitely no. But all I saw,
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: I mean I saw like Megan had like one hundred
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: scream screaming, but they.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Had just won.
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: Like what is she supposed to put in the library?
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: Face face.
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: Like just sh Freud.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: I just wanted to I'm sorry, what was that working?
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: Shading?
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Not the life, as I said, shoden.
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: Freud because he went over to he said in two
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: different ways, neither one of them was correct.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Shot him fucking all right.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: All right, that's another great moment from.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: All right back here on Patriot's Unfiltered eight five five
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Pass five hundred is the TPX Hotline podcast at Patriots
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: dot com as the email address. Franklin and Baltimore writes
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: in while not exactly one to one, Barkley's impact in
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: the playoffs is Terrell Davis esque, and there's no amount
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: of scouting or practice the Chiefs can do to prepare
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: for his mix of speed and elusiveness. Eagles thirty seven,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Chefs twenty eight, So put one down for the Eagles.
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: I don't see it.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: So I think that that leads to an interesting stat
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: that I saw today. The Eagles have rushed for more
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: yards this season than they've thrown four. If they win
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: the Super Bowl, it'll be the first time in thirty
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: plus years that that has been the case. It's seventy two,
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: seventy three, seventy four, you know something like that. Miami, Pittsburgh,
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: Pittsburgh last teams to rush for more yards than they
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: threw fourth to win the Super Bowl. So, yeah, it
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: could happen. It could be a one off, but I
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: think you've sort of seen how you need to win.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: I just think it's going to be a game about
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: possessions and long possessions, and you got to finish with
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: touchdowns Like that's how I kind of see it stacking up.
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: And as much as they want to run Barkley or
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: the Chiefs want to throw short passes like, it's just
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: gonna come down to who scores touchdowns, I think. I
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: mean that's I don't think it's going to be a
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: high scoring game. I think it's going to be a long,
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: drawn out eight nine, ten minute possession eight nine. You know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: those that kind of game, back and forth with long
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: sustain drives that if you get stopped on fourth down
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: or you missed the field goal, those things will add
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: up and that's gonna be the difference.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Rusty and Arland says. The Hall of Fame will be
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: announced soon and I wanted to get your opinion on it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Obviously we have one player who we can talk about.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: I think sug Steve Smith, Regy Wayne are probably ahead
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: of Vinitary or Vinittieri. Which is it?
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: I do?
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: I do Tierry that I'm wrong.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: I think it's tyranny, But it used to be put
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: in the media Guide as Terry.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Terry Terry that's right. Uh do you think he gets
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: in on the first ballot? Uh?
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: Yeah, all got a shot.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Also I want to ask about when Vinitari left, since
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: I was still youngish when it happened. What was the reaction?
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Was it mainly just money? It was all about money?
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Is it weird that he had all these iconic moments
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: with the Patriots then played basically a second full career
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: with another team that was terrible.
- 1:03:51Speaker 11: I hated it.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I hated it too.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: It was one of my first like him and Johnny
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: Damon right there you go the same time, and I
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: remember being dead stated about both of them and not understanding.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: But I was so Bill could do no wrong at
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: that point that I just I explained it away.
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: I was like, I was so mad, But I mean
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: it was this is Carlton Fisk for me as a kid,
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: and the same kind of thing you think of him
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: as a Red Sox. Played longer with the White Sox,
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: same with that, played longer with the Colts, but he
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: didn't do.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: As much with him.
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: Well, what's going on?
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: I want to get into my thought food for thought?
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: So is Eli meaning getting in? I mean what if
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: he got in?
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Would it first ballot? I would be disgusted?
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: I mean, is it?
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: But is it too?
- 1:04:41Speaker 16: Is it?
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: Two?
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: Super Bowl runs.
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: Is that is that what gets him in?
- 1:04:43Speaker 10: There?
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: Is there any other kind of.
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: It's who he be.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: In New York, the voters have Pat and Manning.
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: So my my food for thought was just you know,
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: what would a could a defensive player ever do?
- 1:04:56Speaker 12: That?
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: Could a defensive player ever get in onto you know,
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: super Bowl titles where they had an exceptional run and
- 1:05:03Speaker 6: this one particular player, I mean, I'm just going to
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: throw it out there, in two super Bowl runs six games.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: This player had played six games, six interceptions, an interception,
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: td UH, five passes, defense, two forced fumbles, two sacks
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: and UH and had almost fifty tackles in those two
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: Super Bowl runs for a defensive player. That's those pretty
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: good stats. I just thought, you know, Rodney Harrison had
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: two really good super Bowl runs, even hugely productive. And
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: so if you want to say, you know, Eli Manning
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: could get in off a two runs, I know everything
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: else you're saying. I just thought it was interesting food
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: that you're talking about two playoff runs like Rodney in
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: those two playoff runs, I mean, that's crazy, like six interceptions.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: And I would even think the case that forget about
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: the runs, he had a better career at his position.
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think that's sure, like maybe overall back,
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: but I just thought an interesting kind of com here's
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: my favorite Patriots.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: So I'm not exactly the most unbiased there, but.
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: I just was I would would jump out to me
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: as I thought of that, and then I'm like, what
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: I mean. Eli Manning stats in those two runs were great.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: I mean he had like one one interception and either
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: of the two runs, maybe two. But but Rodney, my god,
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: I mean, and especially as I've gone back through these games,
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: like he's just constantly popping up with big picks and
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: obviously sealed Super Bowl thirty nine, which was twenty years
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: ago today. Hey, so that was my little food for
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: thought of just even get on, even get on.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's an anti Patriots, it is.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: It is the voters don't like the Patriots.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: Is there ever going to be a time that we
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: stopped with that?
- 1:06:32Speaker 12: No?
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: No, when they treat us like every other dynasty that's
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: ever lived, and they can stop with that, right when
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: they have seventeen Pittsburgh Steelers in.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: The stop trying to diminish our accomplishments, and maybe we'll
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: back off.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: One hundred forty forty nine ers, but the Patriots defend
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: the wall. We have to We have to scrap and
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: claw to get The greatest dynasty in the history is
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: Sports Hall of Fame.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: We don't get no respect. You know what. They hate us,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: they hate it.
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: They don't care about us anymore. I hope so come on,
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: irrelevant last year, But what are we going to do?
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: I'm kidding, not really.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Ryan in situate says, Paul is a national hero, national treasure,
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: national treasure. That my new favorite thing in the show is,
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: to nobody's surprise, one of Paul's quirks. Whenever an email
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: or a caller chimes in and Paul doesn't agree, always
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: turns to Evan, where they have a quiet conversation amongst
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: the two of them where they take subtle shots at
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: the opinion. To add on to that, I also love
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: when Fred says something and Paul responds with something that
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: completely contradicts what Fred just said. Fred simply replies with, yeah,
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: never changed. Love the show. She's thirty one, Eagles twenty.
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Four so high scorers.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Yep, let's see Stephen and Iron in right, sin just
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: in reference to the twenty eighteen Super Bowl against the Eagles.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Something I've never really heard spoken, but I've always felt
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: myself Malcolm Butler being out wasn't as big of a
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: loss to the team as High Tower being out was.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: In the three Super Bowls he played, he played and
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: he made plays to get a stop turnover in each one.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: If if High Tower was healthy, I believe we win
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: that game with or without Butler. I also think Butler
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: in the AFC Championship game was not great, so maybe
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: it added to what unfolded that led to the benching.
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: Well, High Tower was out for most of the season,
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: so it's a little bit different. Like Hi Tower played
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: five games in twenty seventeen, so it's I mean, they weren't.
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: They were never gonna have High Tower, is my point.
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: Like you know, he was on injured reserve, he was out.
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: They had Malcolm Butler healthy and available and didn't play him.
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: It's a good point though he was a huge I
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: mean I always referenced that twenty fifteen game in Denver
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: when when he went out and then all of a sudden,
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: they just started running all I mean, I think even
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: the game winning touchdown in overtime was like them just
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: running wide zone like rope right through the right through
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: the Patriots defense.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: But yeah, not the Hopper's muff game Poppers muff.
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: That's the one. That's the one.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Jeff in Canada. I know this is probably not something
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: the team would announce publicly, but do you have any
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: inside baseball knowledge on any additions to the analytics department?
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Rabel said the a word in his introductory introductory press conference,
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: and we hear anything about that.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: There is one guy that name is excaving me. I'll
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: look it up that came over from the Red Sox. Actually,
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: but this happened in December, so it happened actually under
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: Gerrod technically and more of like probably an Elliot Gerad move.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: But there was a guy that came over from the
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Red Sox and he is now working in the Patriots
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: front office in the analytics department. So we now have
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: two analytics staffers. We went from one to two. We
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: doubled in size.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Teddy Bruski on with one of Paul's shows at the
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Super Bowl. That hair, it's unbelievable, It's unbelievable for the
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: super Bowl.
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: This is tell us more kill your hand through it.
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: I mean wonderful.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: This is still as are the most talented team the
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Chiefs have played all year by a lot, and they're
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: not ready for them for this reason, thirty one twenty
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: three Eagles.
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: Okay, I don't know.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: So the Chiefs haven't had enough good competition, is what
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: he's saying.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: Which I'm not arguing with his his premise that the
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: Eagles are the most talented team. I think the Eagles
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: are the most talented team in football, and they haven't
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: played them, so this will be the most talented team
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: they play. But like they're not ready for them. They
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: lose by a touchdown, you know what I mean. It's
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: like they're not ready for them. They lose forty one.
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: That makes sense, They're not ready for this step up
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: in competition, not thirty one twenty three.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Like that, You could go either way, Isaac writes in
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: do you think Drake May's experience in the Pro Bowl
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: and rubbing elbows with other stars helps the Patriots in
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: free agency?
- 1:10:55Speaker 12: No?
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: Not really, but I do.
- 1:10:58Speaker 13: I do.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: I think more about just him being around these guys
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: and you know, just being more comfortable being in a
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: face of an NFL franchise, and I just think it's
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: good for his confidence. You know, I don't really care
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: about playing in the Pro Bowl, getting named to the
- 1:11:11Speaker 6: Pro Bowl, but just being there and being a part
- 1:11:13Speaker 6: of it, being around these guys, getting to talk to
- 1:11:16Speaker 6: some of the other quarterbacks, maybe picked their mind a
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: little bit about their process and how they do it.
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: Although those are things to me that I think are
- 1:11:21Speaker 6: most valuable to Drake from.
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: Is it acceptable to just sort of say, like, I
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: don't really think it has much impact either way? Yes, like,
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: I don't think it. Certainly don't think. I think everything
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: Mike said makes a lot of sense, and I don't
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: necessarily think you need to go to the Pro Bowl
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: to do any of that. So I can you just
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: sort of say that's great for him if he enjoyed it.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: I hope he embraced it and enjoyed it. But if
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: he didn't do it, I don't I wouldn't think any less.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: That was the one takeaway I had, And granted he
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: could have just been putting on a good face for
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: the cameras, but it did genuinely seem like he enjoyed
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: his time there. I hope he did, and I think
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: that that could be potentially something, but I think it's
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: a little overblown that al he's talking to Jamar Chase,
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: like cool, tell me when the Bengals give up work out.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: Together to you know, and I'm sure that he'll do
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: that in the off season and be with you know.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: Like I don't know. I think sometimes we try to
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: attach value to everything.
- 1:12:18Speaker 8: And with social media, they all know each other already.
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: They're talking if they want to be talking, Like.
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: Who's the who's the quarterbacks that were with the in
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: the National CHAMPI was that Riley Leonard and Will Howard
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: that were like roommates at the Manning camp or something
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: like that? Is that the one or my confusion that
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: with two different.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Guys that could be right?
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: But Drake is also they know each other, is my point.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Drake is also at the Super Bowl. He's been walking around.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: I don't know, like if there's a reason he's down there,
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: I just Christian Kyle. I don't know if he's down
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: there like usually guys that are down there as sponsored.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: Ye, I think he was doing a thing, okay.
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: So, but I don't think it hurts.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: I don't think it hurts for him to be exposed
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: to as many other players as possible, because you never
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: know a guy's like, yeah, I met him, he's a
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: pretty good guy. I wouldn't mind playing with him. Yeah, sure,
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: can't hurt, can't hurt. Let's see who's this this is Mike.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: He says, you can tell a lot by the way
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: a person sits and placement of their legs and feet.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: Fred and Paul sit with two feet firm on the ground.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: Fred being in charge, Paul thinking he is plus plus
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: it's good plus. It's an old man thing. Evan sits
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: with one leg folded over the other straight form, basically
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: claiming his superiority and someday thinking I'll be the boss.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Mike sits with one leg folding over the other at
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: the knee, flopping the leg. He's contemplating if Paul will
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: ever let him finish his second and questioning his manhood.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Don't overthink it, gentlemen, It'll drive you crazed.
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: I kind of agree with you.
- 1:13:59Speaker 6: Well, those new chairs got it. Really, your legs are
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: on display. I mean, I don't have to tell Alex
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: about that. I think our first show you.
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: Were Yeah, it came like a spur or shorts or
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: a dress or something that is not going to work.
- 1:14:10Speaker 8: We raise that camera a little bit like you mention
- 1:14:12Speaker 8: the chairs are so deep that I look like a
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: toddler sitting in it because my feet are just like
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: the inglish like bring.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: Your legs up and get like really cozy?
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: Are you not owning?
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: You're not owning the chair?
- 1:14:22Speaker 8: Well, when I do get cozy in it, I'm like
- 1:14:24Speaker 8: sitting cross legged in it because it's so big.
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: It's very uncomfortable.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: I try to own the chair and then I'm like
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: my posture shut.
- 1:14:32Speaker 8: Jerry look too comfortable?
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: You see Edelman? Edelman always he's got kind of the
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: thing he does where he's leg He's got a nice
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: kind kind of like yeah, a little bit, a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: he's always got like the short short he wants like
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: hamstrings and the eyes out he wants to.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: Let's go to the tp x houtline. Nathan's in LA.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: What's up, Nathan Nelson?
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: That's Nelson.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Oh Nelson, Nelson Nelson with sorry, I just don't swear.
- 1:15:05Speaker 10: People are gonna win it thirty one or twenty four,
- 1:15:08Speaker 10: you know, like us, we won the Eagles the first
- 1:15:10Speaker 10: time when the Super Bowl and then they came out
- 1:15:12Speaker 10: to beat us. Had it did he beat him the
- 1:15:14Speaker 10: first time in the Super Bowl? And I think the
- 1:15:16Speaker 10: Eagles are gonna come back hungry and Barker's gonna take
- 1:15:19Speaker 10: it all the way.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, so Eagles put another one down for Eagles.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be doing all to one Eagle so
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: far a.
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: Little time, I do like five Eagles. Five.
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: I didn't remember anything. It's it's a good.
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: Yeah. One person.
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: One person picked the cheeky.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: Eldred in North Carolina. What's up, Eldred? Hey?
- 1:15:38Speaker 17: So say, lady, how y'all are doing today?
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Lady?
- 1:15:42Speaker 10: All right?
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: Uh excuse me? Love it?
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:15:49Speaker 17: About to receives in the draft, Uh.
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: Huh, Okay, it's gonna be game.
- 1:15:54Speaker 13: Okay.
- 1:15:55Speaker 17: Sure, one receiver ninety six steps, don't care, one hundred
- 1:15:59Speaker 17: one yeah, thirteen point one average, one hundred twenty five
- 1:16:05Speaker 17: one thofty eight yards, fifteen touchdown.
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:16:09Speaker 17: The other receiver at eighty four reception thirty one hundred
- 1:16:13Speaker 17: and thirty targets, fifteen point seven yards per average, thirteen
- 1:16:19Speaker 17: nineteen yards. Which one would you take?
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: See?
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: I'm trying to fall plays on the outside.
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: Which one place on the outside?
- 1:16:33Speaker 17: They're both outside the outside.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: I'm gonna say the second one. I couldn't keep tracking.
- 1:16:40Speaker 17: Okay, good. The circle is t MAC, the one you
- 1:16:43Speaker 17: said you wouldn't take.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I wanted to get picked the wrong Who is
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: the first one?
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: Who was the first one?
- 1:16:49Speaker 17: Big e fav of counter fab counter? Yeah, i would
- 1:16:53Speaker 17: take t MAC at four, But then again, I'd rather
- 1:16:56Speaker 17: have the left tack or protectmate.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: Wow, that's gross, Wow, Eldred taking the tackle over the.
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: Tackle over the receiver.
- 1:17:07Speaker 17: Wow, we ain't got no line.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: What happened?
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: You hit your head or something you saw down alder?
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: That's big of you man, that's growth.
- 1:17:14Speaker 17: Okay, yeah, no, no, But but like I said, I'd
- 1:17:17Speaker 17: rather have t MAC if what you call. But I
- 1:17:20Speaker 17: know what we need more, and.
- 1:17:21Speaker 10: That's some protection.
- 1:17:23Speaker 17: And if they if they go ahead and get your DK,
- 1:17:27Speaker 17: because they're not gonna get here, diggers ain't leave it.
- 1:17:29Speaker 17: They get DK DK, I'll be had. But I'd rather
- 1:17:33Speaker 17: have t MAC on the other side with DK. And
- 1:17:37Speaker 17: you got a force with what you called it, with
- 1:17:39Speaker 17: with what you called in the middle, so you know
- 1:17:42Speaker 17: you got that and the guy does. He might not
- 1:17:44Speaker 17: have top speed, but he is fast and he does
- 1:17:47Speaker 17: get over top of the route, middle of the route,
- 1:17:49Speaker 17: and he's protest catches and once you get the hand
- 1:17:52Speaker 17: on the ball, he's gone gone all right, So I
- 1:17:55Speaker 17: rather have him too, But I really have a tack.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Who do you have in the Super Bowl?
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: Who do you like?
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: Sign down?
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: Eagles? Iggles? Okay, wow, hold him down all right, Aldred, thanks,
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: have a good one.
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: Thanks, Biggie, Thank you. Love to stack him at the stem.
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: Yeah he had.
- 1:18:13Speaker 5: He had a lot of your buzzwords. You had to
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: like that call.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: I loved that call from Eldrid and that was some
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: real growth picking the tackle over the receiver. I know
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: that's difficult for people stunning, but I will say this
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: about Eldrid. Him liking Teed McMillan's the most predictable thing ever.
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: I told you, receiver, I actually you know he read
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: all those numbers. I often don't even look at the numbers. Uh.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: In college, I don't really think that that trans Like
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: Nikhil Harry had three monster seasons in college at production.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: But I hear what he said. He's he's a good player.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: I just think it's a little rich at four.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: That's all. Diana in New Hampshire. I read an article
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: today that Adam van Terry wanted to stay as a Patriot,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: but they wouldn't give him multiple years and Colts wanted
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: him more and gave him what he wanted. Yet and
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: all to do with money, And it all to do
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: with money. I'm rooting for the Eagles to win. Absolutely
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: don't want Chiefs to repeat as I'm sick of people
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: saying Mahomes is as good or better than Brady. No
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: way is he even close yet? Prediction Eagles twenty seven,
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: Chiefs twenty four. So close game.
- 1:19:14Speaker 6: I just think everybody's picking with their hearts and they
- 1:19:17Speaker 6: don't want my homes sont make.
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: An argument for the Eagles.
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: They're the better team.
- 1:19:20Speaker 10: No.
- 1:19:20Speaker 6: I mean, I'm saying some of the talent, sure, but
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: I feel like a lot of I.
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: Don't think they're the better team because I think it's
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: just too big of a difference in the quarterbacks. But
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: I think you can make an argument at the top
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: to bottom they have better talent.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: I guess yeah, we're saying the same Mike and Charlotte
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Eagles thirty five, Chiefs twenty one. A lot of points
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: over forty eight and a half.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: Yeah, better go get those points.
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: Oh I missed that.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Eagles.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: I'm with do somethink A lot of people picking with
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: their hearts, not with their heads on this.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: Martin out of Kansas says my pick is Chiefs thirty six,
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Eagles thirty in an overtime win, Chiefs three, pete and food.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: I'll be grilling some marinated skirts st to make tacos, beans,
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: rice with homemade sALS.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:20:04Speaker 6: That sounds good. I think I'm gonna do a roast.
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: I'm gonna try to do a roast.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: You gonna do a roast roast? It seems a little
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: aggressive for Super Bowl, but it would be nice if
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: holiday roast. It seems like too much work for you.
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: Just get the meat, roast roast.
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: I just think it's kind of odd super Bowl fair.
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: I don't think it's all.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: That baking oysters rocke fell.
- 1:20:29Speaker 6: Id I have ever since I went to my sisters
- 1:20:32Speaker 6: for Christmas. They made a roast that I just was like,
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: oh my god, I had the horse radish you'll never met.
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: You're probably right, but I'm gonna try.
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: All right, that's a good pick.
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: Don't let them, don't let them talk mashed potato.
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: It's going to be the snow like the Super Bowl
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: to me is sort of like.
- 1:20:50Speaker 8: Buffalo chicken dip rings.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: Easy stuff, easy stuff you can pick at because it's
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: a long day something.
- 1:20:58Speaker 8: You're right, the picking us gradually, like.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: You've got a pre game, you got off game, you
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: got halftime, you got second half.
- 1:21:06Speaker 6: I'm not having a party though, Like it's just my family.
- 1:21:08Speaker 6: So I'm like, let's have dinner and then we'll have
- 1:21:10Speaker 6: some picking snacks too, but the focus is going to
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: be my roast, with my food.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: You have one big meal because like, I don't want
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: to be distracted by having.
- 1:21:18Speaker 8: To like what if you're in a food can you
- 1:21:21Speaker 8: fall asleep?
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: I can see Mikey makes this beautiful roast and everybody
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: eats all the other stuff and nobody eats the roasts.
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: And my kids were no party. I mean, we're gonna
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: be in the snow. I'm not going to run into
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: a problem, like you know, Paul's got to figure out
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: how to get grandparents to and from through a blizzard,
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: and you know it's.
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: I'm worried about the snow.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: I am.
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: I'm a little worried about the snow, but the food
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: I'm not worried about.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: I think I might have to cancel my plans like mac.
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: And cheese, wings, dip, absolutely nachos. Yeah, I'm pizza, apps,
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: it's Super Bowl is a day of apps.
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: Yeah, day of farting all day and all that.
- 1:21:57Speaker 8: But I like your family.
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: If you have a roasted potatoes cheese.
- 1:22:04Speaker 6: You gonna have cheese and then some more cheese and
- 1:22:06Speaker 6: probably some cheese in there, some beans.
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: That's going on?
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: What is going on in the bullpen?
- 1:22:16Speaker 6: Worried about.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: Those things?
- 1:22:20Speaker 8: Plug into the wall and let's have the glade pluggings.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Holy macro.
- 1:22:27Speaker 6: What's the cheese sticks?
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: Another the other solid option. I won't have cheese. I
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: think we'll have potato skins. I think we got like
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: a way it's wings sticks and in skins.
- 1:22:43Speaker 6: Like the wings, I like them.
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: I'm not surprised that your potato skins, guy, that right
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: up here.
- 1:22:47Speaker 5: Not my favorite really, I mean, I mean I like them.
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: But if I have like the buffalo stuff, not I
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: would go to those first. Okay, wings, wings are my face.
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: Buffalo fread's burn out with me, and we ever gone
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: out with and I didn't get buffalo wings.
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: You gotta get wings.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: You got to get the adam and not the tenders
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: with no bone.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: That's called a boneless chicken wing.
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: It's a tender.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: No, it's a tender.
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: It's a.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: Boneless chicken tender, No boneless chicken wing.
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: They just called a boneless wing to make you feel better.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: A boneless wings.
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: Generous there is. That's what it is.
- 1:23:25Speaker 8: It's not what part of the chicken does it come from?
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: I don't care.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Not the wings exactly exactly, good, good, Alex. Why do
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: you have to be stubborn.
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: Because when you go to a wings place, they're called
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: boneless wings.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: Very few do that anymore. They've been corrected, correct real
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: establishment tender.
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: But I think the biggest, the biggest way separating tenders
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: are not sauce tenders are dry and you dip in sauce.
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: Buffalo tenders.
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: Boneless wings are right on the menu, are sauce. They're
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: tossed in the sauce.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: Sauce, but not milky sauce.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: Not the tenders. Those are dipping, you dip those.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:24:09Speaker 8: So the windy spicy nuggets, Oh yes, it's not. That's
- 1:24:14Speaker 8: not a boneless wing in your mind because it's a nugget.
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: It has sauce on it.
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: But it's but it's hot nuggets shaped.
- 1:24:22Speaker 8: See where going It's just the shape though boneless.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: Your boneless wings aren't shaped like wings.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: E shape shapes a factor.
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but they're not shaped like wings. You're boneless things things.
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: They broke ground on the Chick fil A?
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: People, Is that what that is?
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: You should are all in?
- 1:24:44Speaker 6: Should no? I know that that was on the it
- 1:24:47Speaker 6: was on the stadium. We just got a Chick fil
- 1:24:51Speaker 6: A and walpole about three miles that way.
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: Excited about it and got fifteen times.
- 1:24:57Speaker 6: I got kids and they like it.
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: I just like, back to what Mike.
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: Least twice, no question about it.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: You like, what do you get a Chick fil A?
- 1:25:07Speaker 6: I'll get a chicken. I'll do I grilled chicken sandwich
- 1:25:10Speaker 6: a couple of times. They're pretty good.
- 1:25:14Speaker 8: They don't do anything.
- 1:25:15Speaker 6: I always get some of those nuggets though. I always
- 1:25:17Speaker 6: got to get a little the little wing dang things
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: they got there though, too.
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: Adam and Louisiana. That's good, he says fred. I have
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: a gripe with the Patriots Pro shop. Why can't I
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: buy a Tom Brady jersey in the old two thousand style.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: I went through my collection of jerseys and realized I
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: don't fit the clothes I wore fifteen years ago. Shocker,
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: I know, but I was looking to buy a new one.
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: And all they have are the new blueberries. I want
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: the nostalgia. I don't want to buy a jersey in
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: the new style for players that hardly or never wore them. Also,
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: I don't want to buy them because I don't think
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: they'll be around much longer. Any hints on that freat I.
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: Think that's a great email. I think those those unions
- 1:25:55Speaker 6: got to come back some capacity, especially in the pro shop.
- 1:25:58Speaker 6: I mean, come on, leave money on the table.
- 1:26:00Speaker 8: When did they switch from Reebok to Nike twenty twelve
- 1:26:05Speaker 8: or was it that? So that's probably why you can't
- 1:26:07Speaker 8: find the early two thousands ones.
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't do the custom ones.
- 1:26:12Speaker 6: And I think it's just the blueberries.
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: Oh thought I thought you could pick though, maybe it's
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: just the throwbacks that they So.
- 1:26:19Speaker 12: What is what?
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: What do you?
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: What is the blueberries?
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: That's the current?
- 1:26:23Speaker 8: The current, that's the current uniform, the color rush that
- 1:26:25Speaker 8: turned in.
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: They're mockingly described as blueberries.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: And what were the ones before that?
- 1:26:31Speaker 6: They called them the dynasty uniforms.
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: The dynasty unit how about that?
- 1:26:34Speaker 6: They want six super Bowls on them?
- 1:26:35Speaker 12: Right?
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Okay, but what how do you refer to that color blue?
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: Wasn't it the same blue.
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: I think I had. That's a good question for I
- 1:26:45Speaker 6: think maybe the pants. When they switched to the plants and.
- 1:26:50Speaker 8: Change the modern style with the stripes, it looked like
- 1:26:53Speaker 8: the red throwbacks, but meat blue for color Rush.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: I don't I don't care for him, okay, one writes
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: in this whole debate of TB twelve verse, Mahomes seems
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: silly until Mahomes does the following. I'm not willing to
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: consider the whole discussion. One Mahomes leaves and wins a
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: super Bowl with another team out from under red. Two
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Mahomes wins a Super Bowl without Kelsey Brady did it
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: without Gronka, the most amazing comeback ever. Also, Fred asked
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: the question, who doesn't like Andy Reid? That's easy. Go
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: watch the corniest commercial ever made, the old Bundaruski, and
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: you'll change your mind.
- 1:27:29Speaker 4: I make.
- 1:28:30Speaker 16: Us.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: What would your ideas be for a new uniform with
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: a new era of quarterback and head coach?
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: Fred?
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Do you think do you know of anything in the work?
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: Since we're eligible for a UNI change this season, there
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: might be some information.
- 1:29:36Speaker 6: I like Paul's. I think your favorites are They did
- 1:29:38Speaker 6: the white shirt with the red pants. I think I
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: like that that's something that's been kind of lost a
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: little bit, that they haven't really worn.
- 1:29:45Speaker 5: I don't think there's a lot of that color combination
- 1:29:48Speaker 5: in the league. I feel like there's a lot of
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: very similar colors.
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: Buffalo, Yes, I mean Buffalo. I mean that those colors
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: are kind of buffalo. I mean if it wasn't that
- 1:29:56Speaker 6: you're wearing right.
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: And I've always had I like this hoodie because it's
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: very comfortable, but I always I am kind of curious
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: about the color of it.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Matt, it seems audio has been lost.
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: Right back. We're back up.
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: We're back up. We're audioboard.
- 1:30:10Speaker 11: Glitchen shut down. You guys were off for two minutes.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: Two minutes. That's an eternity.
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: Let me recap what we have said.
- 1:30:16Speaker 18: Oh my god, I f bombs around left, right, Buffalo
- 1:30:23Speaker 18: and congo, God quickly.
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: If the Chiefs win, it's only because of the crooked
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: refs uh and the Eagles will win. Instinks and everybody
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: hates Andy.
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: Reid thing scene.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: Chad says, the other blue was called nautical blue. Nautical blue.
- 1:30:39Speaker 6: Okay, Dynasty, remember the hex code of it. You know,
- 1:30:42Speaker 6: they get like the hex code that tells you exactly
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: what blue was, and then you could right, and then
- 1:30:46Speaker 6: you could you know, if you're a t shirt making person,
- 1:30:49Speaker 6: we want the right blues.
- 1:30:50Speaker 8: They don't know how to code. They don't know what
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: we're talking about.
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: Me I do. How's it my fault?
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: You should be talking more ball back there, Eric, Eric
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: seems to think he has the answer about tenders versus wings.
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: A tender is a whole tenderloin uncut. A boneless wing
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: is a tender that has been cut. A nugget is
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: a ground mixture or a cut that has been pressed
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: and shaped.
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: I think he nailed it. I think he nailed it.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: Some boneless wings do exist boneless because it's not from
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: the wing, like he said, boneless wings actual tenders.
- 1:31:26Speaker 6: What Either way, they're delicious.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: I like them too. If it's chicken and it's fried,
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: I want to try anything, right, Todd says, Seeing it's
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: the off season for US Patriots fans and somewhat boring,
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: Oh thanks a lot. My son, Tyler, and I were
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: wondering what Fred gets for lunch when he says his
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: food is here before going to break Any local places
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: that stand out in the Foxborough area. My lunch choice
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: has to do with what I think I'm going to
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: be eating for dinner A lot of times, so if
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna have a lot of food for dinner,
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: I try to scale back.
- 1:32:00Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:32:00Speaker 6: You know what you got on the tap tonight? You
- 1:32:02Speaker 6: gotta what a sandwich today?
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: Evidently you're not going to have much for dinner. A
- 1:32:07Speaker 5: small one that looked by the way, fantastic and it
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: smelled good and it was really good.
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, let's play a piece of time pizza.
- 1:32:17Speaker 6: I've heard of that.
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what we go there. Sometimes we haven't.
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: Heard about it. We gave it a shot. We'll see
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: if we continue.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:32:25Speaker 6: Yeah, they're mad at Paulo.
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: I think some establishments the street they really are mad
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: at paul Every day I ordered, he says, that's it, Matthew,
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: come on.
- 1:32:37Speaker 11: Us.
- 1:32:37Speaker 5: I might have to step up my game, but I
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: need more money. I just can't small pep can't afford it.
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: The delivery driver calls me, Kevin Still Robin san Diego.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: My wife listened to the last few shows and really
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: enjoyed the doughnut debate and the Taylor Swift discussion. I
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: told her about Mike's story of getting off the bus
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: in Bridgeport, Connecticut to play hockey, and she agreed Mike
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: was right to be apprehensive. She's from Bridgeport, and honestly,
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: I'm scared of her on a daily basis. That brings
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: me to my off season question, what's the sketchiest stadium
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: you've ever been to football or otherwise, whether because of
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: the neighborhood or something else for me, while you're thinking,
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: For me, it was watching the Rams play at the
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: LA Memorial Coliseum. I parked far away, and I'm about
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: ninety nine percent sure I walked through skid road to
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: get to the former New Haven Coliseum is a close second.
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: For hl Hot, Yeah, I've.
- 1:33:32Speaker 6: Been to the coliseum. That's pretty accurate.
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: I was about to say the costume.
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: You're parking in crappy territory right, walk right through New
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: havenl NO in l l a USC stadium that was
- 1:33:45Speaker 6: pretty bad. I mean that the old Chargers one was
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: pretty crummy.
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: Like share in terms of bad stadiums, the Oakland one,
- 1:33:54Speaker 5: San Diego one, Jack Murphy, I know it wasn't bad.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: Veterans Stadium was the vet was a dump. You got
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: a hamstring pull just walking on the field's.
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: Terrible in Washington, right, that's dump is really at the
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: bottom of the league. And they're building or we're just
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: the build just got just got approved. Yeah, but nothing
- 1:34:12Speaker 4: beats the Coliseum.
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: And I've never been the.
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: Only parking lot that I've walked through that I said
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: things could get if he here was Oakland. Yeah, like
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: there was like some stuff.
- 1:34:23Speaker 5: Going on now I don't don't remember any of that.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: The bills could be crazy, but it's in a good way.
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: Like they'll throw a beer can at the bus and
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: stuff like.
- 1:34:31Speaker 8: That, but in a good way.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: It's all the fun.
- 1:34:34Speaker 6: I mean, it's all for I meant the old Patriots
- 1:34:39Speaker 6: Stadium that was a little skin when I was a kid.
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: I mean, that's probably.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: You're right, and I was pretty right.
- 1:34:47Speaker 5: I mean had a lot of new words in my
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: first game nineteen seventy six.
- 1:34:51Speaker 8: That shout out to that emailer's wife for not calling
- 1:34:54Speaker 8: me a mean girl.
- 1:34:54Speaker 6: Oh yeah, you doesn't care for killers.
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: Was was not I'm not happy.
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: What did you think of her grammy outfit?
- 1:35:03Speaker 8: Alex, It wasn't that bad. She must have heard our discussion.
- 1:35:06Speaker 8: But I don't think it's a mean girl of me.
- 1:35:08Speaker 8: To one, I'm a Taylor Swift fan, paid my good
- 1:35:11Speaker 8: money to go to those concerts. And two, like, she's
- 1:35:13Speaker 8: a billion dollar entity. That's not like pitting two women
- 1:35:17Speaker 8: against each other. That's all I'll say.
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: Dropped the mic said a lot more than that off
- 1:35:24Speaker 6: the ear? Did she have like a chain with a
- 1:35:26Speaker 6: t on her thigh too?
- 1:35:27Speaker 8: Like call me a mean girl? If like if me
- 1:35:29Speaker 8: and Tamara had beef. That's one thing we're on like
- 1:35:32Speaker 8: similar level. Taylor Swift is a billion dollar entity that's
- 1:35:35Speaker 8: criticizing a corporation.
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: Right, A big word. Right?
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: The question though, Deuce was the tea for Taylor or
- 1:35:43Speaker 4: for Travis? That was the controversy.
- 1:35:46Speaker 8: It's probably because she has a song. It's a corny lyric.
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: To be honest.
- 1:35:55Speaker 8: What if he's written mine on my upper thigh so
- 1:35:58Speaker 8: it was falling on her upper thigh.
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: That's you know, Relax.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: Jake and Melbourne, Australia. Right, sint just looking for some
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: clarification and why a quarter or a half inch of
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: arm leg seems to be a pretty big defining factor
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: on why Campbell could be as high as four to
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: the Patriots or some mocks having him around ten also
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: would Nick s Gorton be worth the assets to get
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: into the fifteen to twenties range and picking.
- 1:36:22Speaker 6: Him, that's welcome to the craziness of the combine. Baby,
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: it's a good question.
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: And the threshold used to be thirty four inches and
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: then Rashaun Slater came around. Now it's thirty three inches.
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: So really it's just a matter of the old cliche like,
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: it's really not any more complicated than that. Obviously, you know,
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: you want to be able to keep guys at arm's
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: length and at your fingertips, and the longer that you are,
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: the easier that is to do, just from a technique standpoint.
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: But there will be a day where a guy with
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: thirty two inch arms is an elite tackle because he's
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: just that good. And maybe that's Will Campbell. Don't know,
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But there have been
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: guys that have been on the lower end of the spectrum.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: You know, we had one here, Matt Light was on
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: the lower end of the spectrum and was a great
- 1:37:10Speaker 4: player for a long time. Right now, it's for Shan Slater.
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: Joe Thomas wasn't particularly long in the arm, so it's
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: not like you can't do it. But that's the old
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: adage is that you know, the longer that you are,
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: the easier it is to keep guys at bay and
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: pass protection especially yeap.
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: So can I just I just say one thing to
- 1:37:31Speaker 5: add to this, And I think Evan just perfectly gave
- 1:37:34Speaker 5: you a million examples of guys that didn't fit the
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: bolts that would. But I know that it sounds silly
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: on the surface, like, well, his arms are thirty two
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: out of thirty one and then whatever, But it's not
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: all that different as to like why a wide receiver
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: might be a candidate if he runs a four to
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: three forty as opposed to a full four to forty. Now,
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: like one is fast and one is not, you know,
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: and that can be the difffference between being elite and
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: just being okay. And it's the same thing for a tackle.
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: And again, there were plenty of wide receivers who ended
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: up being great that didn't run explosive speeds. Larry Fitzgerald
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: was never considered one of the fastest. Play Jerry recele
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: Jerry Rice, you know, was not considered one of the
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: fast So you can succeed anyway. But it's the same thing.
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: It sounds silly, like the length of his arm, but
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: it matters. It does matter. It's a reason why it's
- 1:38:31Speaker 5: always been considered like that.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: It's interesting, I think, because it's almost like you have
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: to have the kahones to play a guy with shorter
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: arms at tackle, because so many teams just moved them
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: automatically inside, Like Peter Skoronsky was a All Conference offensive
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: tackle left tackle at Northwestern for multiple years and automatically
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: just got moved inside because his arms are below thirty
- 1:38:57Speaker 4: three inches yeah, by the Titans. And so all it
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: could take is that one team has the gumption to say, nope,
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: we think this thirty two inch guy can play tackle,
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden the threshold changes again,
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: you know. So it all depends on your preference.
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: Does Marcus Allen ever get old?
- 1:39:19Speaker 5: So it's funny. I'm watching on TV my show is
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: Marcus Allen is on, and people just keep coming up
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: to him in the middle of the show, interrupted the
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: mayor and you know, former teammates and whatnot, and they're
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: just like, in the middle of the show. I can
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: only gague what it sounds like.
- 1:39:34Speaker 6: I was going to say a thing to watch two
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: with the arm link a little bit. Is Joe Toney
- 1:39:37Speaker 6: playing left tackle in this game? And how does he
- 1:39:40Speaker 6: do against the Josh Swtz of the world. And I
- 1:39:42Speaker 6: think you might see some of that some of why
- 1:39:44Speaker 6: length is important at that position.
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: Tony says, this is going to be a tough game.
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: Hate the Eagles for beating us, hate the Chiefs for
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: being good. Plus I've hated Kelsey ever since the playoff
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: game in New England where he mocked Brady doing his
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: let go, let's go pregame. Saquan is the only person
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: I can cheer for, So I guess I'm picking the
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: Eagles ten six sugfest because it's what the NFL deserves
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: for giving us a rematch. Do any of you have
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: any personal grievances with players or coaches in this game?
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: Personal grievances, but players are coaches.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: No, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:40:18Speaker 6: I don't really and I know exactly what he was
- 1:40:20Speaker 6: talking about with with Kelsey, But I think those guys
- 1:40:23Speaker 6: are just so good. I'm like beyond the fandom of
- 1:40:26Speaker 6: like they were taunting us, like you know, like I
- 1:40:29Speaker 6: just at a certain point you just have to accept
- 1:40:30Speaker 6: how good these guys are. And how consistent they've been.
- 1:40:34Speaker 6: But I really, I mean, I'm really I really like
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: Philly's defense. I really like watching those guys. I mean,
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: Jalen Carter, there aren't a lot of defensive linemen in
- 1:40:40Speaker 6: the league that are actually fun to watch, and he's won.
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: Chris Jones is one like to see that.
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: I mean, I definitely have those kinds of grudges, though
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: I don't know necessarily on these two teams. I don't
- 1:40:50Speaker 5: like Travis Kelcey. I don't like the personality I have
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: a problem with. He's kind of a bore to.
- 1:40:54Speaker 8: Yeah, he's kind of a tool a little bit, but
- 1:40:56Speaker 8: also like I don't not enough that I would hate him.
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: Yeah, and it has nothing at all to do with
- 1:41:01Speaker 5: Taylor Sweat before. I think he's just that typical bro
- 1:41:05Speaker 5: that I just kind of don't like.
- 1:41:06Speaker 8: But he's a guy that if he was on your team,
- 1:41:08Speaker 8: you'd probably like love him.
- 1:41:09Speaker 5: Well, he's a great player, so yeah, yeah, but the personality,
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: like Baker Mayfield, I've always disliked Baker Mayfield. I think
- 1:41:15Speaker 5: he has great personality. Like the commercials and stuff. Because
- 1:41:21Speaker 5: this is how it starts, This is how this all started,
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: You guys, don't know all You guys don't know all
- 1:41:25Speaker 5: the history. That's why we had to let Baker.
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: Bake h Dana, Virginia and Michigan. The NFL finally got
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: something right. It was announced yesterday the NFL will be
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: playing a regular game in Australia. The city they have
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: chosen for this game is my hometown of Melbourne. The
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: NFL picked the right city to host the game. It
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: is the most sports mad city in Australia and it's
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: the best place for sports in a country where sports
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: are prominent in our identity and culture. Also, Melbourne is
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: like Australia's Boston for a number of reasons. Bad traffic,
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: like another.
- 1:42:03Speaker 5: Funny Australian accents.
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: They're gonna have all like the stereotypes of the game,
- 1:42:07Speaker 6: like the guy playing Digi Redo, like with the national
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: anthems or something.
- 1:42:11Speaker 8: He's right though. I went to college with a kid
- 1:42:13Speaker 8: who studied abroad for a semester at U mass He
- 1:42:16Speaker 8: came to you, mass only because it was in Massachusetts
- 1:42:19Speaker 8: and close to the Patriots and he could go to
- 1:42:21Speaker 8: Patriots games.
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: But like of all the places in the world to visit,
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: like Australia is not even on my list.
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: Really, it's just if it wasn't.
- 1:42:30Speaker 8: So far, there's nothing Australia and New Zealand are in
- 1:42:32Speaker 8: my other than being.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: In another hemisphere. Like there's nothing like historical about it.
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: True animals have animals.
- 1:42:42Speaker 6: Yeah, well I don't know that that likely.
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: So he got in Europe for Asia and like there's
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: there's like a different culture and a different history and
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: things to look at that And I don't know what's
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: different about Australia to America.
- 1:42:58Speaker 6: And you're gonna get some emails here in the second fil.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: It's like US even shaped the same, except it's upside down. Really,
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: it's like us.
- 1:43:08Speaker 6: It's just for me overwhelming thinking about the flight. That's
- 1:43:11Speaker 6: me and that's the killer.
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: Yeah, twenty four hours on a plane.
- 1:43:15Speaker 6: I don't even like flying to California and it's like six.
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: And that's all I'm thinking about. In the amount of
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: time that you're gonna have to.
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: Go, we get over ten we get over ten hours.
- 1:43:23Speaker 6: I think I'm out.
- 1:43:24Speaker 8: I would break it up. It would have to be
- 1:43:25Speaker 8: like a month long trip.
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: Where Hawaii first US can take a month long I.
- 1:43:31Speaker 8: Certainly can't sol I was thinking about doing it.
- 1:43:34Speaker 6: Hypothetical Look at this. Marcus Allen's now handing over to
- 1:43:37Speaker 6: some random lady.
- 1:43:38Speaker 5: I don't know exactly where with huge coke poddle glasses.
- 1:43:42Speaker 8: And her eye glasses are Oh my god, that's a
- 1:43:44Speaker 8: thick prescription.
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: Earlier, is that his handler?
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: What is going that's probably his hands?
- 1:43:51Speaker 8: Mad radio?
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: Oh, they're having technical issues.
- 1:43:54Speaker 5: What is going on here?
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: The Marcus Allen is it's bad radio. We're talking about
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: something people can't see. All right, let's talk about the
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: Super Bowl. Let's get into it.
- 1:44:03Speaker 5: Oh should we?
- 1:44:04Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: All right, so we've got the uh Eagles and Chiefs.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: What times the game start?
- 1:44:10Speaker 4: Three?
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: Six thirty.
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: Twelve?
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: About the pregamey on the West coast? That was great.
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: It hasn't been that, my god, since we were kids.
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: We were kids, forget about. They weren't evenna twinkle on
- 1:44:26Speaker 5: anyone's eye.
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: So what happened last Well, do we already go over?
- 1:44:30Speaker 12: No?
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: We didn't.
- 1:44:31Speaker 6: Yeah, so.
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: Evan was the only one that went to and oh
- 1:44:37Speaker 5: with the at the championship weekend, the rest of us
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: were all one and one. Good job, good job, Evan.
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: Uh So.
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: With the spread, Evan and Fred went one and one.
- 1:44:51Speaker 5: The rest of us went on to poop emoji. So
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: here are the updated stats. Overall winners. Mike and Paul
- 1:45:01Speaker 5: are nine and three. Evan is seven and five, Fred
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: is five and seven, Alex is six and two. Did
- 1:45:07Speaker 5: not participate in Division round.
- 1:45:09Speaker 8: When did I? How did I not participate? I texted you.
- 1:45:12Speaker 5: I did not receive the answered me.
- 1:45:16Speaker 8: And you also a couple of weeks ago, told me
- 1:45:18Speaker 8: I had an incomplete. It was the week the first
- 1:45:21Speaker 8: week I was gone. You said I had an incomplete.
- 1:45:23Speaker 8: But I was on that show. It was a setup
- 1:45:25Speaker 8: of four. I sat on the Ottoman and we did
- 1:45:28Speaker 8: the College National Championship.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: The only one that I missed was the division round games.
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: I didn't get anything on the air though.
- 1:45:35Speaker 8: Two weeks ago you said I had an incomplete.
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: I was listening, Yeah, Paul, come on, because you didn't
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: give us picks for the division round. Now, if you
- 1:45:43Speaker 5: gave them to me and I did not see them,
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: then my apologize. As Rob Bradford would say, on Wei,
- 1:45:48Speaker 5: I remember I sent you.
- 1:45:49Speaker 8: The picture of a volcano two and you said pretty cool.
- 1:45:53Speaker 6: I didn't.
- 1:45:57Speaker 10: I have all the.
- 1:45:58Speaker 8: Games listened, and then it is a picture of the volcano.
- 1:46:02Speaker 8: I said, look, it's a volcano eruption.
- 1:46:05Speaker 5: So that is the polus thing. Ever, I will cool,
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: I will I will add, I will add those if
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: I can find them anyway, you cut up. No one
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: likes you. Mike with the spread is leading at seven
- 1:46:23Speaker 5: four and one, followed by Paul at five six and one,
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: then Fred at four seven and one, and poopamoj Evan
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: at three eight and one. That serves your right from
- 1:46:33Speaker 5: making in front of my eyes.
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: Now that's your four and.
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: Four with ante.
- 1:46:37Speaker 6: Pretty cool.
- 1:46:39Speaker 5: It's all right, so we got we got. It was
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: a cool volcano like I never I.
- 1:46:49Speaker 6: Didn't see the rest, not wicked. Pretty cool.
- 1:46:51Speaker 5: So Fred, you can now.
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: Do what you do.
- 1:46:56Speaker 5: Okay, So volcano, we know that's what I saw.
- 1:47:02Speaker 6: I did not see this up here, however, please, so
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: let's see.
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: They didn't cover, they didn't cover, They pushed and.
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: We're working out.
- 1:47:22Speaker 5: Are you Are you not aware of who's playing in
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: the game.
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: I'm waiting for you to I said, I'm all set.
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: We're ready for you to introduce the game.
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: All right, So the games at six thirty that's Eastern time.
- 1:47:33Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: It's on Fox to be, Fox Deportes and Telemundo to B.
- 1:47:39Speaker 6: I'm watching on t B.
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the fifteen and two Chiefs against the fourteen
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: and three Eagles, the Eagles of the home team, that
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: is correct.
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: Yeah, the Eagles will be wearing green U and Casey
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: back in white. K C by one and a half.
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: That line has not moved, right, I have Casey by
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: one on ESPN.
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: But I had DraftKings this morning said one and a
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: half ahead. We go by draft Draft, we go by
- 1:48:07Speaker 5: Draft Kings always sponsor and.
- 1:48:09Speaker 6: Paul, thank you. So I guess I'll kick it off.
- 1:48:12Speaker 6: I kind of hinted out a little bit. I think
- 1:48:15Speaker 6: it's game with a lot of long possessions back and forth.
- 1:48:18Speaker 6: But I like a low scoring game. I just I
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: don't all these people saying like in the thirties verse thirties,
- 1:48:22Speaker 6: I don't. I don't see that. I think this is
- 1:48:24Speaker 6: a game in the mid twenties to low twenties. I'm
- 1:48:26Speaker 6: gonna thak Kansas City. I'll say, kind of a weird game,
- 1:48:29Speaker 6: like twenty seven to twenty one Kansas City.
- 1:48:35Speaker 8: I'm not gonna win anyway. So I'm going with my heart,
- 1:48:37Speaker 8: go birds. FI he goes five, Philly twenty four, Kansas
- 1:48:43Speaker 8: City twenty one. That's a good squad, close game.
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: There is a lot of things I like about Philly
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: in this matchup, pressure on the quarterback Saquon Barkley. But
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: what I can't get out of my head is that
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: eventually the game is going to be and Jalen hurts
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: his hands against Steve Spagna in the Chiefs defense, and
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: the Chiefs defense, just like they did to Josh Allen
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: makes a play late and make sure that they get
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: over the top. So I'm taking Kansas City twenty seven,
- 1:49:10Speaker 4: twenty four and a thriller classic.
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: I too, am gonna take Kansas City. I just think
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: the Eagles this is a bad cop out. If the
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: Eagles can somehow throw the ball the way they did
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: in the NFC Championship Game, I think the Eagles win.
- 1:49:27Speaker 5: I don't think that Hurts can do that again. So
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: for that reason, I'm taking Kansas City. I think they
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: have enough defensively to make sure that doesn't happen. And
- 1:49:36Speaker 5: I don't think they'll let Barkley, you know, have three
- 1:49:39Speaker 5: seventy yard touchdown runs. I mean, if he continues to
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: do that, he does, more power to him. I'm gonna
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: take the Chiefs, and I'm gonna say thirty one, thirty one,
- 1:49:50Speaker 5: twenty three.
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I mean everyone's talking about the Chiefs defense
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: in the Eagles front line, and they should and Spagnolo
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: in the coaching matchup, which Andy Reid probably you know,
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: has the edge. But the end of the day, because
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: I think the defenses both are good, I think it
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: is lower. I think it's gonna be under the forty
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: eight and a half, And at the end of the day,
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: one team has Mahomes and the other dozen and I
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: like him having the ball with the chance to win
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: the game. I think the Chiefs win the game twenty
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: four to twenty three.
- 1:50:32Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that's not a cover.
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: Twenty four to twenty three. It's it's gonna be a
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: great game. It's gonna be a great game. But the
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: end of the day, it's Patrick Mahomes. After all a
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: sudden done, Taylor Swift and Kelsey and the coach and
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: all that stuff and everything else going on, Chris Jones
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: and the front you know, the front line for the Eagles,
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: it's Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, it's Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:51:00Speaker 5: Red talked about briefly the over under that's set at
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: forty eight and a half.
- 1:51:04Speaker 6: Forty and a half twenty seven.
- 1:51:07Speaker 5: So based on this year, think, yeah, you picked one,
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: you picked, you picked.
- 1:51:13Speaker 6: Forty eight, that would be under right numbers.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: Do you want to go over?
- 1:51:17Speaker 12: No?
- 1:51:17Speaker 6: No, no, no, I liked under Alex.
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: You picked forty five, you would take the under.
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: I'm taking the over. Kick goes over?
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: Yeah, over is a good bet also because you know
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: when these games, typically the defenses get tired at the
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: end and fourth quarter they start going up field.
- 1:51:36Speaker 5: You were also forty seven.
- 1:51:38Speaker 6: Yeah, So what I's gonna say? Though, You're right, and
- 1:51:41Speaker 6: I just these are two really good, talented defenses.
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: Are they going to get tired? They know?
- 1:51:44Speaker 6: Like does that happen to every defense? Or could this
- 1:51:46Speaker 6: be a year where the defenses play well down to
- 1:51:48Speaker 6: the end. I don't know. I just I think there.
- 1:51:50Speaker 6: I just have a lot of respect for both defenses.
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: Some game it's hard to say, like, oh, the Eagles
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: are just going to roll over at the end of.
- 1:51:55Speaker 5: The pick it pretty high scoring you pick forty eight points.
- 1:51:59Speaker 4: It's also so you get into the chess match and
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: usually with the great offensive coaches, they kind of figure
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: it out by the fourth quarter of like what the
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: defenses are doing to them, and they have some answer,
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: especially guy like Andy Reid. You know, once he kind
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: of the game declares, they'll have some things for found you.
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: You know, I think the AFC Championship game, in the
- 1:52:18Speaker 5: game that Kansas City lost, Yeah, you know, it took
- 1:52:20Speaker 5: him a while to figured it out and then they couldn't.
- 1:52:22Speaker 9: Ye.
- 1:52:23Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, so that's.
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: The over under of a legal picks.
- 1:52:26Speaker 5: But yeah, Barkley rushing total one eleven and a half eleven.
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: And a half m. That's a good number. Ah shoot,
- 1:52:36Speaker 6: I'm gonna say over, but it's just it's just not enough.
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: Over. I'm gonna pick under. I think they're gonna go
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: into this game Kansas City and say we have to
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: get this game in the third and pass and have
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: to get it and Jaalen hurts his hands and we'll
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: load up to stop the run. So I'm gonna take
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: the under.
- 1:52:59Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the old over just because I feel
- 1:53:02Speaker 5: like Kansas City will make sure that the passing game
- 1:53:06Speaker 5: doesn't hurt them, and they'll say, go ahead, try to
- 1:53:09Speaker 5: do with five yards at a time. I don't think
- 1:53:10Speaker 5: you can, but I think you'll. I think you'll rack
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: up some yardage. Barkley. So I'll take the over.
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: I am going to take the under. I am going
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: to take the under part of taking the under overall.
- 1:53:24Speaker 5: So, okay, this is uh. I have a couple of
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: regular ones, but this was a little quirky one. Xavier're
- 1:53:30Speaker 5: Worthy rushing yards oh six and a half, six and
- 1:53:34Speaker 5: a half. These are official from draft things. By the way,
- 1:53:37Speaker 5: I didn't just make these numbers up. I didn't pull
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: them morell and I just put up any number I wanted.
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: I like it.
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: I'm gonna go I'm gonna go over on that one.
- 1:53:42Speaker 6: I think that's a good one. I think that could
- 1:53:44Speaker 6: be part of the plan.
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: Try to, you know, get outside, and basically you're asking
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: you they're going to hand the ball off to Xavi
- 1:53:50Speaker 5: you're worthy or not.
- 1:53:51Speaker 6: I'm going to say yes, yeah, over.
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna go over too. I think if there's one
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: thing you want to do against a Fangio defense is
- 1:54:00Speaker 4: try to use emotion and try to get outside if
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: you can. And so I'm gonna go over.
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: Yeah, me too. I think they'll they'll give the ball
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: to Worthy a couple of times in this game. He's
- 1:54:09Speaker 5: probably the most dynamic. He is the most dynamic player.
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: Get the ball in his hands.
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: I think they'll get the ball in his hands, but
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: not as a rushing play. So I'm gonna say under.
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: Okay, My next one is Travis Kelcey receiving yards sixty
- 1:54:25Speaker 5: one and a half.
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: Well, I think this might be his last game, possibly,
- 1:54:29Speaker 6: and I think he'll go out with a good performance.
- 1:54:32Speaker 6: And I'm gonna go over on the one under Taylor
- 1:54:40Speaker 6: Swift hater.
- 1:54:40Speaker 4: My god, Yeah, I'm gonna go over as well.
- 1:54:44Speaker 5: Fellow women, I guess I'm gonna go over as well.
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: I just feel like in this game of this magnitude,
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: Mahomes is gonna look for his most reliable guy.
- 1:54:55Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the under because I think that they're
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: good enough defense massively to make them do it a
- 1:55:01Speaker 5: different way. Can't do what like Houston did and just
- 1:55:04Speaker 5: say go ahead, keep doing it to Kelsey. You gotta
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: make him do something different.
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna say over. I'm gonna say over. I think
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: that the Eagles get aggressive up front, and I think
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: he's gonna slip out a few times and and get over.
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: What is it, sixty one and a half?
- 1:55:21Speaker 5: Sixty one and a half.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna say over, not by a lot.
- 1:55:24Speaker 5: Aj Brown, who was next up seventy and a half.
- 1:55:30Speaker 6: I'm gonna say under on that one. I got a
- 1:55:32Speaker 6: lot of respect for Trent mcduffee. I think he's sticky
- 1:55:35Speaker 6: and that's where i'd be putting him, so yeah, I
- 1:55:38Speaker 6: think I think he'll do a good job.
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: Also under, I'm gonna go under as well. But I
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: do think Adrian Brown has a big catch. But it's
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: like one for forty or something like that. So I'm
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: gonna go under.
- 1:55:50Speaker 5: So I'm gonna take the under.
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: Two.
- 1:55:52Speaker 5: You think it'll be McDuffie on him, not Smith.
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: I don't know, I think so. I agree with Mike.
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: I think McDuffie Brown.
- 1:56:00Speaker 5: Just wondering about the size.
- 1:56:01Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, that's fair.
- 1:56:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I have the under as well. I'm going to
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: I don't think they can throw it like they did.
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take the under on that as well.
- 1:56:10Speaker 5: Yep uh sorry, Patrick Mahomes Mayholmes, as Gronk calls him,
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: Mayholmes two and fifty one and a half yards passing fashion, No,
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: not rushing, Mike. You're waiting.
- 1:56:24Speaker 6: You're waiting for that clarification.
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: I could tell.
- 1:56:30Speaker 6: Shoot, I'll go I'll go over on this one. It's
- 1:56:31Speaker 6: just it's hard to bet against Mahomes, you know, being underproductive,
- 1:56:35Speaker 6: and I just think I'll have a good game.
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go over to.
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not a big believer in the secondary. I
- 1:56:46Speaker 5: for the Eagles, I know that they've played, like Kunyan
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: Mitchell played really really well. You know, Sleigh is still
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: you know, a pros pro. But I'm going to take
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: the over. I think Mahomes will will figure secondary out.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna take the over. Two and sixty of those
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: yards might come in the last possession.
- 1:57:06Speaker 6: That's I agree, Like, don't you just feel like that's
- 1:57:08Speaker 6: where it's hit.
- 1:57:09Speaker 5: I think pencil in another one of these shortly. But
- 1:57:11Speaker 5: the last one, last prop bet I have is Jalen
- 1:57:14Speaker 5: Hurts is passing total two twelve and a half.
- 1:57:19Speaker 6: That's a good number. Ah, I'm gonna say under on
- 1:57:22Speaker 6: that one. I think that's where the game is lost.
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: Under I'm gonna go over. If I'm gonna go under
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: on Barkley, he's got they gotta get some yards somewhere,
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: So I'm gonna go over.
- 1:57:39Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the under again. I just don't think
- 1:57:42Speaker 5: it's the kind of passing game I think the Chiefs
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: will get enough pressure on him, and I think that's
- 1:57:46Speaker 5: the kryptonite for Hurts. He can't really it's ironic because
- 1:57:51Speaker 5: he's such a great runner, but he's not good off platform.
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: No, well, think about that number. That's a low number
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: for a quarterback in the modern era. So if he
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: gets to thirteen and you pick the over, you win.
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: So I'm gonna pick the over, but not by a lot.
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: To thirteen is more than to twelve and a half,
- 1:58:08Speaker 5: I can argue.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: My point is you can go over and it's still
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: not a great game.
- 1:58:13Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, that's kind of what But these numbers are established,
- 1:58:17Speaker 5: I know, based on performances in the past, right in
- 1:58:20Speaker 5: the past. The season. Yeah, I just the last thing
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: was just MVP, MVP my homes.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: Everybody going with Mahomes.
- 1:58:32Speaker 8: Well, I picked the Eagles to it. I have somebody
- 1:58:34Speaker 8: I guess I'd go with Hurts. Okay, actually Saquon.
- 1:58:40Speaker 5: Okay, okay, all right, suggar ahead, friend, you're talking about
- 1:58:44Speaker 5: co MVP.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: No, I'm going to go with Mahomes.
- 1:58:48Speaker 6: I just I feel like it's it has to come down,
- 1:58:51Speaker 6: like you think the Eagles, man, I think they might
- 1:58:53Speaker 6: get them. They might get them, and then it's going
- 1:58:54Speaker 6: to be like every minute thirty lefts and Patrick Mahoery
- 1:58:57Speaker 6: comes and you know it's like Brady, I mean, it's
- 1:59:00Speaker 6: it's what it is right now. I mean, unless I
- 1:59:01Speaker 6: would just say, we talked a lot about Super Bowl
- 1:59:04Speaker 6: fifty two, you know, like, is it that kind of
- 1:59:06Speaker 6: game where yes, Mahomes and Kelsey they go off, but
- 1:59:10Speaker 6: Philly goes off to you know, like is that a possibility?
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:59:15Speaker 5: So is there a missed field goal in this game?
- 1:59:18Speaker 6: That's a good one.
- 1:59:19Speaker 4: No, I'm gonna say yes, usually there's a myst kick.
- 1:59:23Speaker 5: The Eagles have been shaky kicking ones all year. Yeah,
- 1:59:28Speaker 5: I say no, how about a defensive score?
- 1:59:32Speaker 4: There wasn't the last one right?
- 1:59:33Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: You mean the matchup? Yeah, it's fumbled. Yeah, yeah, I'm
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: gonna say. Yeah.
- 1:59:41Speaker 6: Now I'm good, not feeling it.
- 1:59:46Speaker 5: You not feeling it, just feeling that roast and potatoes.
- 1:59:49Speaker 6: It'll be good. I'm want to send you guys pictures.
