Latest / Birdland Territory / Discussing O's deadline trades of Rutschman, Ward, Wells and more
Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: Those fans. Trade deadline day was not dull. It was
- 0:11Speaker 1: a dizzying pace for the Baltimore Orioles. And welcome into
- 0:16Speaker 1: the Lace edition of Bertland Territory, where a two man
- 0:18Speaker 1: team tonight, Brad, we're missing our teammate who's doing some
- 0:22Speaker 1: national radio, Tim Barblace, So we'll see Tim in a
- 0:26Speaker 1: couple of days. And you and I got to get
- 0:28Speaker 1: through this the next thirty minutes, trying to keep pace
- 0:31Speaker 1: of what was looks like in Toronto Talley with six
- 0:35Speaker 1: players traded if you count the minor league right hander
- 0:38Speaker 1: they traded for the minor league outfielder at the very end,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and ten players and a player to be named later
- 0:45Speaker 1: coming back. It was a crazy day. This all started
- 0:48Speaker 1: Friday night. Deeen Kramer, of course, went for the eighteen
- 0:51Speaker 1: year old outfielder from the Twins Taylor Ward earlier today
- 0:55Speaker 1: went for three right handed pitchers, one of which could
- 0:58Speaker 1: go right to the Orioles roster if Alex Hoppy does
- 1:02Speaker 1: Adlei Rutchman and Jake Rogers were dealt for four players
- 1:08Speaker 1: had a player to be named later from Boston. That
- 1:10Speaker 1: was the blockbuster of the day where the Oriols got
- 1:12Speaker 1: a big haul of prospects. We're going to get into
- 1:15Speaker 1: that and traded the number one pick in the draft
- 1:18Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen and Adlie Rutchman. Later Todler Wells was
- 1:21Speaker 1: traded and they got Michael Farrett back a bitch or
- 1:24Speaker 1: I loved watching last year on the farm. I'm excited
- 1:27Speaker 1: to see him back, while we're not excited to see
- 1:29Speaker 1: Tyler go. And then finally, Joe Glassy double a reliever,
- 1:33Speaker 1: was traded to the Nationals for a triple after their
- 1:36Speaker 1: Christian Franklin. Yikes, Brad, what a day? What are your
- 1:41Speaker 1: what are your thoughts after last few hours?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Still I'm still trying to wrap my head around at all.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It's uh. I know, the last couple of episodes we've
- 1:49Speaker 2: been talking about Adlie going, and there was there was
- 1:51Speaker 2: some smoke there, but I just can't believe that it
- 1:53Speaker 2: was a full gone fire when it was all said
- 1:56Speaker 2: and done. You know, trading trade away Adley, obviously you
- 1:59Speaker 2: lose those other guys.
- 2:01Speaker 3: We had a feeling, you.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Know, Kramer one year of control left, but uh, it
- 2:07Speaker 2: wasn't shocked by that, but really just shocked by Adley
- 2:11Speaker 2: and then seeing uh, Taylor Ward. You know, that was
- 2:14Speaker 2: kind of the one we expected to go. But like
- 2:16Speaker 2: I said, it all comes back to Adlie. It's just
- 2:18Speaker 2: it's kind of hard to believe, honestly that it actually
- 2:21Speaker 2: got done. Like I said, we talked about it multiple times,
- 2:24Speaker 2: but the fact that I think the biggest chakra for
- 2:26Speaker 2: me was that was Indivision and that's like, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: we were talking about that the other day. It was
- 2:31Speaker 2: kind of like, yeah, the two teams that need to
- 2:33Speaker 2: catcher Yankees and the Red Sox. But it just seems
- 2:35Speaker 2: really hard that he's going to be going there and
- 2:37Speaker 2: that's that's where he went. And maybe they got the
- 2:40Speaker 2: indivision tax that was put on end, they got back
- 2:43Speaker 2: some good prospects and stuff like that, but it's just
- 2:45Speaker 2: you got to wonder where where they go from here.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You know, it's is it is it another rebuild, is
- 2:50Speaker 3: it a retool? Is it?
- 2:51Speaker 2: I'm just curious to see how they're going to kind
- 2:54Speaker 2: of phrase what they did today by the front office.
- 2:58Speaker 1: So here, I think is the good news for Oriel fans.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And while this clearly was a selloff more than buying,
- 3:07Speaker 1: there were very few buy deals here. This was a
- 3:09Speaker 1: lot of selling went on today, And you know, I
- 3:13Speaker 1: think some people are going to parse it as the
- 3:15Speaker 1: Oils have given up on the season. To me, here's
- 3:19Speaker 1: where they're holding their last vestige of hope for this year.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Their rotation is still really good. Trevor Rodgers is still here, Bradish,
- 3:29Speaker 1: Boz and Young. That's a core four rotation that's been
- 3:33Speaker 1: good all year. And they're going to replace Dan Kramer
- 3:37Speaker 1: with We'll see. Is a Povich, is a Trey Gibson,
- 3:39Speaker 1: is a Chris Bassett. They'll find a replacement and Brad
- 3:43Speaker 1: that five may keep them in enough games. We know
- 3:46Speaker 1: the team has been inconsistent. They're four games under. Defenses
- 3:49Speaker 1: let them down, Offenses let them down. It just seems
- 3:52Speaker 1: like they're not going to be able to do it
- 3:53Speaker 1: this year. But they're close enough that if those guys
- 3:57Speaker 1: in the rotation keep doing their thing, it's still could
- 4:00Speaker 1: get exciting down the stretch.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree. I think it's kind of one of
- 4:04Speaker 3: those things.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I think you're in shock, and I'm really glad actually
- 4:07Speaker 2: today they had the off day because you can kind
- 4:09Speaker 2: of wrap your head around everything that went down, because
- 4:12Speaker 2: I mean, guys in the clubhops are obviously gonna know
- 4:14Speaker 2: about this. With the big names going and kind of
- 4:16Speaker 2: when you get in tomorrow it's gonna be a different feel.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So I think it's a good thing they have the
- 4:20Speaker 2: off day today and kind of just wrap your head
- 4:22Speaker 2: around what happened. But like you said, at the end
- 4:23Speaker 2: of the day, they're gonna have a really good starting
- 4:26Speaker 2: pitching still and guys are gonna get opportunities. And that's
- 4:28Speaker 2: kind of what I love about this now is that
- 4:30Speaker 2: you have a chance for guys to get every day
- 4:32Speaker 2: at bats, guys in the bullpen to really step up
- 4:35Speaker 2: and get a chance to close and pitch in the
- 4:37Speaker 2: eighth inning, pitch high leverage. So for me, it's I
- 4:40Speaker 2: kind of look at this for the guys still on
- 4:42Speaker 2: the roster is a huge opportunity at the rest of
- 4:43Speaker 2: the season, and they're still two months ago and they're
- 4:46Speaker 2: only two and a half games out, so it's kind
- 4:48Speaker 2: of one of those things guys got to step up,
- 4:50Speaker 2: but now they know who's going to be there, and
- 4:52Speaker 2: it's kind of like a wrap your head around this, Well,
- 4:54Speaker 2: let's go out there and continue to fight every day
- 4:56Speaker 2: and you just never know where the chips are gonna
- 4:57Speaker 2: lie at the end of the season.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So here is potential short term replacements we mentioned Kramer,
- 5:04Speaker 1: You've got Bassett, Povich, Gibson, one of those three Ward.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Could he be replaced by Franklin the triple A outfielder
- 5:11Speaker 1: they acquired from the Nationals, Heston Kerstadt. Will he get
- 5:14Speaker 1: a chance to come back. Some fans are clamoring for
- 5:17Speaker 1: Enrique Bradfield junior is at his time there's an opening now,
- 5:21Speaker 1: would Taylor Ward traded Tyler Wells maybe opens the door
- 5:24Speaker 1: for Hoppy one of the relievers they acquired today And
- 5:28Speaker 1: Rutchman and Nirvaias are two catchers who were swapped and Nirvaia's.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Brad actually had a really good twenty twenty five. He
- 5:35Speaker 1: had like two point eight war he threw out twenty
- 5:37Speaker 1: nine percent. Now this year he's not playing anywhere to
- 5:40Speaker 1: that level he's been with. This will be his third
- 5:43Speaker 1: al these teams. It wasn't just a throw in. I
- 5:47Speaker 1: don't think they're that's someone I think they like a
- 5:50Speaker 1: little bit and eventually it could be him backing up Asaioh.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And I remember, you know, watching the games when he's catching,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and was watching the Sunday ball game last night against
- 6:01Speaker 2: the Dodgers and he was behind the plate and he
- 6:03Speaker 2: calls a really good game. He's not somebody I don't
- 6:05Speaker 2: think that they expect to get a ton of offense
- 6:07Speaker 2: fro him.
- 6:07Speaker 3: But like you said, last year.
- 6:09Speaker 2: He kind of played above his career norms, but he
- 6:12Speaker 2: threw out some guys he's got. He calls a really
- 6:14Speaker 2: good game, he blocks the ball really well, and I
- 6:17Speaker 2: think he's gonna be a good guy for Sami beside
- 6:19Speaker 2: to lean on, you know, a foreign born player, so
- 6:21Speaker 2: there's the comfortability there with Sammy, and I think sometimes
- 6:25Speaker 2: when you get a guy who's bounced around a little bit,
- 6:27Speaker 2: he can give a little bit of perspective on, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 2: playing other places and what it's like being at other places.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Ally only knew the Orioles at this point, So maybe
- 6:35Speaker 2: he's gonna help Sammy down the line too. But I,
- 6:38Speaker 2: like I said, I think this is you just got
- 6:39Speaker 2: to kind of look at this. If you're a Nose fan,
- 6:41Speaker 2: couldn't he be frustrated? I think he canna be frustrated.
- 6:44Speaker 2: But at the same time, like I said, I think
- 6:46Speaker 2: it's kind of they're gonna find out who they want
- 6:48Speaker 2: moving forward, and I think you're going to give plenty
- 6:51Speaker 2: more opportunities the guys that really should be getting every
- 6:53Speaker 2: day at bats, I think, and I think that's kind
- 6:55Speaker 2: of where they're going to go from here. And there's really,
- 6:57Speaker 2: as we know in the major leagues, there's no feeling
- 6:59Speaker 2: sorry yourself or nobody's going to be kind of roll
- 7:02Speaker 2: over for you. So when they come there to the
- 7:04Speaker 2: ballpark tomorrow, it's going to be get back to business
- 7:07Speaker 2: and going out there trying to win games against a
- 7:09Speaker 2: team like the Angels, who they just sold off a
- 7:11Speaker 2: bunch of guys too, so they're going to be going
- 7:12Speaker 2: through the same emotions that the Oriols are. So you
- 7:15Speaker 2: just got to kind of put your head down and
- 7:17Speaker 2: like I said, the roster is the roster. Now, some
- 7:19Speaker 2: guys from the miners might get a shot first, that
- 7:21Speaker 2: might come up get more at ats. You just never know,
- 7:23Speaker 2: And from this point the players just have to look
- 7:25Speaker 2: at as a huge opportunity and kind of you know,
- 7:28Speaker 2: kicking the door if they get that chance.
- 7:31Speaker 1: The trade of Rutchman, there's a lot of symbolism here.
- 7:35Speaker 1: This was the first draft pick when Michael Ayas and
- 7:37Speaker 1: his staff took over, the third number one in team history.
- 7:41Speaker 1: He was number two at the time, and Jackson Hollidays
- 7:44Speaker 1: come along since three times, the Oriols have had a
- 7:46Speaker 1: one to one pick since nineteen sixty six when the
- 7:49Speaker 1: draft started. So that tells you how rare that is.
- 7:52Speaker 1: You know a lot of people look back now and
- 7:54Speaker 1: say they could have taken Bobby with he was. I
- 7:57Speaker 1: know the ools at the time were heavily debating what
- 8:00Speaker 1: one to take. In the end, Adelaide, the premium defensive catcher,
- 8:03Speaker 1: won out with his incredible resume at Oregon State. And
- 8:08Speaker 1: so is it the end of an era? I mean,
- 8:12Speaker 1: how do you kind of see it with this marquee talent,
- 8:16Speaker 1: the face of the rebuild going out the door.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's see I think it's I almost want to say,
- 8:23Speaker 2: maybe me, it might be the end of an error
- 8:25Speaker 2: just with that this core group, and now it's gonna
- 8:28Speaker 2: be on Gunner and you know, with Pete there, he
- 8:30Speaker 2: obviously wasn't there from the beginning, but I think it
- 8:32Speaker 2: kind of falls on Gunner now that he's the face
- 8:34Speaker 2: of this. And Jordan Whisper you can hope get him
- 8:37Speaker 2: back healthy next year. And Jackson Holliday maybe he's the
- 8:40Speaker 2: replacement for Ali the number one pick and kind of
- 8:43Speaker 2: moves into a little bit bigger role here with leason
- 8:46Speaker 2: A losing that voice in the clubhouse. But it's, uh,
- 8:49Speaker 2: it's definitely gonna be one of those ones that I
- 8:50Speaker 2: think is is talked about here for a little bit,
- 8:53Speaker 2: and it's not just one of those ones where you're
- 8:55Speaker 2: gonna kind of forget about it tomorrow or next week
- 8:57Speaker 2: or next month. He was the face of Michaelias and
- 9:00Speaker 2: his rebuilding of this organization getting back to the playoffs.
- 9:04Speaker 2: So it's obviously not comparable to the teams I was
- 9:06Speaker 2: on twenty fourteen, twenty sixteen, and obviously our trade away
- 9:11Speaker 2: in twenty eighteen. But I think when you lose that
- 9:14Speaker 2: marquee number one pick, it might be considered the end
- 9:17Speaker 2: of an era. But at the same time, you still
- 9:18Speaker 2: have all the other guys left, So it's I don't
- 9:21Speaker 2: know exactly the phrase you want to give it, but
- 9:23Speaker 2: it's definitely short a big name and a big voice
- 9:27Speaker 2: in that clubhouse.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Michael Oas obviously is not reticent to trade with in
- 9:33Speaker 1: the division. He traded four prospects to Tampa, a great
- 9:36Speaker 1: development organization, to get Shane Boz. He got one of
- 9:39Speaker 1: them back today. He traded with the Red Sox Adleie Retchman,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and he traded again with Tampa today Tyler Wells for
- 9:47Speaker 1: Michael Farrett. So I think this came down to this
- 9:50Speaker 1: brat Most of the teams that wanted to catch it
- 9:54Speaker 1: were in the Al East, and if it was the
- 9:56Speaker 1: Yankees and the Red Sox fighting at the end, maybe
- 9:59Speaker 1: that up that package that A lot of people are
- 10:01Speaker 1: saying the Ools did a great job getting three of
- 10:04Speaker 1: the top five Red Sox players, two of what your
- 10:06Speaker 1: top one hundred pitchers, and this outfielder that a lot
- 10:09Speaker 1: of people like and their bias, who has been good
- 10:12Speaker 1: at times in his career. Some people were overwhelmed by
- 10:16Speaker 1: that package the Ools got for Retchman. Of course, he
- 10:18Speaker 1: has team control through next year. He's not a rental,
- 10:22Speaker 1: so sorting it all out and it's going to take
- 10:24Speaker 1: a few days.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I think, yeah, it is, and it's I think it's
- 10:27Speaker 2: I think it was shocking that its indivision. But at
- 10:29Speaker 2: the same time, you know when you make the deal
- 10:31Speaker 2: in division you're going to get something extra. It just
- 10:34Speaker 2: feels like you have to There has to be something
- 10:36Speaker 2: there to in order to push you over the edge
- 10:38Speaker 2: of making that move. Knowing Adley has another year of
- 10:41Speaker 2: ConTroll and you're going to be facing that team thirteen
- 10:43Speaker 2: fourteen times a year, and you're going to be competing
- 10:46Speaker 2: against them for the Division of Wildcards. So I just
- 10:48Speaker 2: think at the end of the day, if you're willing
- 10:50Speaker 2: to move a guy like Adley, you have to take
- 10:52Speaker 2: the best package and you kind of have to take
- 10:54Speaker 2: the team out of it, whether it was the Yankees,
- 10:57Speaker 2: or is the Red Sox, or is the Raise. I
- 10:59Speaker 2: just think if you were treating a guy of that caliber,
- 11:01Speaker 2: three time All Star, you just have to forget about
- 11:04Speaker 2: the team that it is and you just got to
- 11:06Speaker 2: hope you get the best players back and they make
- 11:08Speaker 2: your team better and at the end of the day
- 11:10Speaker 2: that you're happy with that. If you were gonna move
- 11:12Speaker 2: on from Ali as it was, you just get the
- 11:14Speaker 2: best package you possibly can. And now it's time to
- 11:17Speaker 2: move on and see what they can get with these
- 11:19Speaker 2: guys they got in the trade.
- 11:22Speaker 1: We got a lot more thoughts on this man. What
- 11:24Speaker 1: a dizzying day in Birdland Atlie Ritchman is an ex
- 11:26Speaker 1: oriol A couple others have gone out the door as well.
- 11:30Speaker 1: The Oriols got some talented young players. In fact, the
- 11:33Speaker 1: MLB pipeline tonight has ranked that picture they got from
- 11:36Speaker 1: the Red Sox as their number one prospect. I'll touch
- 11:39Speaker 1: on that and more coming up as we roll on
- 11:42Speaker 1: Tim Barbolace. We're missing him tonight. He's doing national radio tonight,
- 11:45Speaker 1: so great chance for Tim. If you're listening to Westwood
- 11:48Speaker 1: One tonight, you're gonna hear them, and in a minute
- 11:51Speaker 1: you're gonna hear more from me and Brad on Birdland Territory.
- 11:54Speaker 4: It's the summertime, aj and this is a time to
- 11:57Speaker 4: feel free wild, make some phone that you're overdue for,
- 12:03Speaker 4: and also get some deals that you should be getting
- 12:06Speaker 4: that you deserve.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it couldn't be any easier though. It's just one
- 12:09Speaker 5: price for unlimited talk, text and data. It's really simple.
- 12:13Speaker 5: It is one price for all the data and all
- 12:16Speaker 5: the phone calls you could want per month.
- 12:18Speaker 1: It's simple, that's right.
- 12:19Speaker 4: All of Mintmobiles plans are fifteen bucks a month with
- 12:21Speaker 4: the summer sale, even unlimited. To get your new wireless
- 12:24Speaker 4: plan for just fifteen bucks a month, go to mintmobile
- 12:26Speaker 4: dot com slash territory. That's mintmobile dot com slash territory
- 12:30Speaker 4: to cut your wireless bill to fifteen dollars a month.
- 12:33Speaker 4: That's it. There's no catch upfront payment of forty five
- 12:36Speaker 4: dollars for three months, ninety dollars for six months, or
- 12:39Speaker 4: one hundred eighty dollars for twelve months. Plan required fifteen
- 12:42Speaker 4: bucks per month equivalent taxes and fees extra initial plan
- 12:45Speaker 4: term only greater than fifty gigabytes may slow when network
- 12:48Speaker 4: is busy. Includes up to twenty gigabytes hotspot capable device
- 12:51Speaker 4: required availability, speed and coverage varies see mintmobile dot com superrad.
- 12:58Speaker 1: There are various reports coming out Tonight's and the Orioles
- 13:00Speaker 1: made a run at Adlie didn't think they could get
- 13:03Speaker 1: him signed long term, and that may have led to
- 13:06Speaker 1: what happened today this trade. Oriol fans will remember the
- 13:09Speaker 1: Manny Machado situation. He was a rental so the package,
- 13:13Speaker 1: which at the time seemed pretty great, turned out not
- 13:16Speaker 1: to be great. Uston LD has never made it. Dan
- 13:19Speaker 1: Kramer did a good job for the Birds for years,
- 13:21Speaker 1: but it wasn't the great package because of rental. So
- 13:25Speaker 1: with Adlie, he can make two playoff runs with the
- 13:27Speaker 1: Red Sox if they make it, and that brings more
- 13:30Speaker 1: of a price. And if the Yankees were pushing for him,
- 13:33Speaker 1: that spurred on the Red Sox. So sometimes Brad these
- 13:36Speaker 1: things are this is what it was today, and maybe
- 13:39Speaker 1: Michael Ias said, you know what, we could trade Adley
- 13:42Speaker 1: this winner, but I can't get that package this winner,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and so he pulled the trigger.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think when I think having the fact
- 13:50Speaker 2: that the Yankees and the Red Sox both were going
- 13:52Speaker 2: after the same player, I think that might have bumped
- 13:55Speaker 2: up the price even more. And if that think you
- 13:57Speaker 2: just mentioned that picture is now number one in the
- 13:59Speaker 2: Orioles system, that's something that's hard to pass up. And
- 14:02Speaker 2: I feel like that might have been the thing that
- 14:05Speaker 2: tip the scale in the in the way of we
- 14:07Speaker 2: need to move this guy now, because I just don't
- 14:09Speaker 2: know if that type of player, that caliber player is
- 14:12Speaker 2: going to be there that this winter. So I think
- 14:14Speaker 2: that's what at the end of the day, he went
- 14:16Speaker 2: and got the best players. He thought it was the
- 14:18Speaker 2: best deal he could get, and that's you know, we're
- 14:22Speaker 2: not going to know how this is going to pan out.
- 14:24Speaker 2: This might be more of a two, three year, four
- 14:26Speaker 2: year type of thing. But I think, yeah, at the
- 14:28Speaker 2: end of the day, when you get someone's number one
- 14:30Speaker 2: prospect or it's now your number one prospect. When you
- 14:33Speaker 2: get them for somebody that you're just not sure is
- 14:35Speaker 2: going to be there past next year.
- 14:37Speaker 3: You kind of got to take that deal.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And who knows, maybe some of these other players pan
- 14:41Speaker 2: out even better than they're expecting right now. So it's uh,
- 14:44Speaker 2: it's going to take a little bit of time to
- 14:45Speaker 2: obviously process all this and see how it plays out.
- 14:47Speaker 2: But I just think Michael Oas just needed to do it.
- 14:51Speaker 2: If you thought this was the best.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Time, we'll tip our cap if we had one, Brad,
- 14:56Speaker 1: you had one, but it's going backwards. Don't tip it
- 14:58Speaker 1: right now to Hadley Rutsch and will symbolically do it. Uh,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know he was. He was a really good oriole
- 15:04Speaker 1: and he made three All Star appearances on their watch.
- 15:07Speaker 1: He represented the organization well. He handled the white hot
- 15:11Speaker 1: spotlight of being one one pretty well too, I thought.
- 15:15Speaker 1: And you know he never did anything but honor the organization.
- 15:18Speaker 1: That famous spin around when he made his first debut,
- 15:22Speaker 1: remember he kind of took it all in. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:24Speaker 1: you know, think things were gonna remember and it's just
- 15:27Speaker 1: gonna be weird when he plays against the Oils wearing
- 15:31Speaker 1: Boston Red Sox uniform and fans are gonna have a
- 15:33Speaker 1: hard time when he slugs one in the seats at
- 15:36Speaker 1: Fenway Park against the Orioles.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 15:38Speaker 2: It's I think that's kind of the bittersweet part of
- 15:40Speaker 2: it is that he goes out to the West Coast
- 15:42Speaker 2: or he goes in the NL, you might see him
- 15:44Speaker 2: once every couple of years or something like that. But
- 15:46Speaker 2: the fact that you're gonna see him in came the
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yards in a different uniform minimum two times a year
- 15:51Speaker 2: is definitely a tough bill to swallow. So, uh, I
- 15:54Speaker 2: think that's gonna end up being the hardest part of it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: But but like you said, I think being the second
- 15:59Speaker 2: ever number one overall pick for the Orioles, he did
- 16:01Speaker 2: a good job. He came up, made three All Stars.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I mean, there's really not much else you could ask
- 16:05Speaker 2: for him playing in premier position. That's really really tough
- 16:08Speaker 2: to do both sides of the ball, and he really
- 16:10Speaker 2: did a great job for them, got them back to
- 16:12Speaker 2: winning the division, got them to the playoffs twice. So,
- 16:15Speaker 2: like you said, tip your cap to add that, he
- 16:17Speaker 2: really handled the pressure of that being the face of
- 16:20Speaker 2: the rebuild for Michael Elias really well and not only
- 16:23Speaker 2: just represented it well, he performed really well on the
- 16:26Speaker 2: biggest stage and did a great job.
- 16:28Speaker 3: So you can't help but to root for somebody.
- 16:30Speaker 2: You just got to hope that he doesn't do it
- 16:32Speaker 2: against the Orioles whenever they face on the thirteen times
- 16:34Speaker 2: a year.
- 16:37Speaker 1: So here was on Twitter today and this got a
- 16:39Speaker 1: lot of attention. And this was not from an oriol reporter.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It was from Sean McAdam, a Boston reporter of Masslive
- 16:46Speaker 1: dot com, who tweeted after this trade, some people in
- 16:50Speaker 1: the game are completely stunned by what the Red Sox
- 16:53Speaker 1: gave up for Ritchmand said one evaluator. I'm absolutely dumbfounded
- 16:57Speaker 1: by this. This is literally one of the most ridiculous
- 17:00Speaker 1: trades I've seen in thirty years. Wow to what he said, Wow,
- 17:05Speaker 1: that's crazy. Yeah, you know, But so what did the
- 17:09Speaker 1: Ools get. Let's give you at least a little bit
- 17:11Speaker 1: of a rundown here. They got right handed pitcher Anthony Ironson.
- 17:16Speaker 1: He has ranked as number thirty three prospect by Baseball America,
- 17:19Speaker 1: number forty nine by Pipeline, number two Red Sox prospect.
- 17:23Speaker 1: The Ools did not get Franklin Arias shortstop. That's the
- 17:27Speaker 1: Red Sox top top guy, top ten in the game,
- 17:30Speaker 1: so that we were going to put this over the top.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Red Sox did not part with him, but they did
- 17:35Speaker 1: part with three of their top five prospects, including Ironson,
- 17:39Speaker 1: third round draft pick out of LSU and twenty twenty five.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Brady signed for one point seven five million. And by
- 17:45Speaker 1: the way, the other guy that got Kyson Witherspoon was
- 17:49Speaker 1: a first round draft pick number fifteen overall in twenty
- 17:52Speaker 1: twenty five out of Oklahoma who signed for five million,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and he was a top one hundred and still is
- 17:59Speaker 1: according to base Ball America, number ninety seven. And then
- 18:02Speaker 1: they got the outfielder Andy as a Car. He is
- 18:06Speaker 1: the number five Red Sox prospect. He's nineteen from Venezuela
- 18:10Speaker 1: and is having a great year this year at a
- 18:12Speaker 1: and high as ops is eight to eighty and they
- 18:15Speaker 1: say it's above average speed and power. Baseball America said
- 18:18Speaker 1: he has the highest offensive sealing of anybody in the
- 18:21Speaker 1: Boston system. Wow, two of their cream pitchers and maybe
- 18:25Speaker 1: their best hitter. And Navayas, as we said, who's done
- 18:28Speaker 1: some good things. The fifth part is a player to
- 18:31Speaker 1: be named later or cash ore so that has not
- 18:35Speaker 1: been determined. It could be a cash consideration in the end,
- 18:38Speaker 1: we'll see four players for now coming in this deal,
- 18:42Speaker 1: so that that is a haul and two top one hundred.
- 18:46Speaker 1: It's three of Boston's top five. They do keep their
- 18:49Speaker 1: number one, but three of their top five.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think what makes us trade interesting too,
- 18:56Speaker 2: is it sounds like these guys aren't that far away.
- 18:58Speaker 2: When you're talking about a first rounder out of college
- 19:00Speaker 2: for five million, he's got to be close to a
- 19:03Speaker 2: TA close to the big leagues, you would think if
- 19:05Speaker 2: they're giving that amount of money to him. So it's
- 19:08Speaker 2: not like they're getting some eighteen year old kid out
- 19:10Speaker 2: of high school who's got the raw stuff. It sounds
- 19:12Speaker 2: like they're more of guys who are a little bit
- 19:14Speaker 2: more polished, have good stuff, might be close to the
- 19:17Speaker 2: big leagues, if not next year, the year after that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: But it's it seems like it's a closer deal than
- 19:23Speaker 2: you know, getting some guys that just you're not too
- 19:25Speaker 2: sure about and then throwing that nineteen year old prospect.
- 19:28Speaker 2: He might be a little bit further away, but you
- 19:30Speaker 2: just never know. Some of these guys they can develop
- 19:32Speaker 2: quicker than you think, and maybe the returns come quicker,
- 19:35Speaker 2: or the Orioles might like these guys even better than
- 19:37Speaker 2: the Red Sox did, so that's why they felt like
- 19:39Speaker 2: they had to pull the trigger.
- 19:40Speaker 3: But it's it's it's yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 2: To get the Systems top three out of five guys
- 19:45Speaker 2: is an impressive haul. And to hear the one guy
- 19:47Speaker 2: who's been covering the Red Sox that long say it's
- 19:49Speaker 2: the most ridiculous trade he's ever heard.
- 19:51Speaker 3: You got to feel good if you're an Orials.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Fan here, and that because teams aren't giving that up,
- 19:55Speaker 2: you know, every every year, really ever, when you think
- 19:58Speaker 2: about it.
- 20:00Speaker 1: He said that was from an evaluator, which I assume
- 20:02Speaker 1: obviously means a scout reached out to him or he
- 20:04Speaker 1: reached out to the scout to get their take on
- 20:07Speaker 1: this deal. On the scout thought the Orioles got a haul,
- 20:10Speaker 1: and of course we heard good things about the kid
- 20:12Speaker 1: from Minnesota they got Friday night. And I love Michael
- 20:15Speaker 1: Farrett and I'm still going to get around to him
- 20:17Speaker 1: eventually here. But the stats for Anthony Aronson, twenty one
- 20:21Speaker 1: year old right hander, they got the highest ranked player
- 20:24Speaker 1: in this Boston trade this year between high A in
- 20:28Speaker 1: Double A four and oh with a one thirty two
- 20:31Speaker 1: ERA eighty nine whip twelve point four k per nine
- 20:35Speaker 1: rad at double a pitch to an fifty two era
- 20:38Speaker 1: in June two oh four in July. I mean, the
- 20:41Speaker 1: stature tremendous for this guy, and I guess he'll probably
- 20:45Speaker 1: go right to double a Chesapeake for the Orioles to start.
- 20:50Speaker 1: You know, they had the top fifteen O Baseball America
- 20:54Speaker 1: prospects before today. Ten of the top fifteen were pitchers.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Three are now going to be added to that, these
- 21:01Speaker 1: two from Boston and Michael Farrett, who is number eight
- 21:04Speaker 1: on Tampa's list and number eight on the Oriels list
- 21:07Speaker 1: when they traded him in the Bos deal. So he's
- 21:09Speaker 1: a top ten oriol prospect and these two are top
- 21:12Speaker 1: ten man. I mean, that's setting them up with some
- 21:16Speaker 1: depth for possible more deals this this winter, pending about
- 21:20Speaker 1: how this all plays out with labor and everything in big.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, for sure, that's a good sign when
- 21:25Speaker 2: you have arms. You need arms to win, You need
- 21:27Speaker 2: arms to get to the playoffs. You need arms to
- 21:28Speaker 2: go deep in the playoffs, and the way baseball is today,
- 21:31Speaker 2: you need a lot of arms to do that.
- 21:33Speaker 3: So it's that's a good sign.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I think it's we've talked about Michael Liason and his
- 21:38Speaker 2: development of hitters. When you look at the Houston organization,
- 21:41Speaker 2: they got all the hitting and they went and got
- 21:43Speaker 2: pitching elsewhere, and sometimes maybe that's what you got to do.
- 21:45Speaker 2: But it seems like the Oriers are getting better at
- 21:48Speaker 2: developing in house. Like you said, multiple guys that you've
- 21:50Speaker 2: liked that on the farm on previous shows. Now you
- 21:53Speaker 2: add this slough that they've got of guys coming over
- 21:56Speaker 2: from other organizations and you get the Orioles guys on
- 21:58Speaker 2: them and hopefully they can go out there and just
- 22:01Speaker 2: keep developing them, get them to the big leagues, and
- 22:03Speaker 2: then from there just hopefully they can perform and stay healthy.
- 22:05Speaker 2: And that's really all you can do with prospects. They're
- 22:07Speaker 2: prospects for a reason. But when you're talking about top
- 22:10Speaker 2: like I said, top three of five of another organization,
- 22:13Speaker 2: and they're they're going right in with the group of
- 22:15Speaker 2: guys you already said, we're with the Oriols.
- 22:17Speaker 3: That's a good sign.
- 22:18Speaker 2: So the arms are coming, and you just got to
- 22:20Speaker 2: hope they stay healthy and just keep developing them and
- 22:22Speaker 2: get them to Cami yards and see what they can do.
- 22:26Speaker 1: In a minute, I want to ask Brad what it
- 22:28Speaker 1: means to the clubhouse when in the last few days
- 22:31Speaker 1: Kramer's gone, Ward's gone, at leasts gone, Wells is gone.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Four guys were really beloved in there by their teammates.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Let's touch on that in a month.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Today's episode is sponsored by the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Program.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Kratz.

- 22:48Speaker 5: Bella in a bubble.

- 22:52Speaker 3: best thing for her.

- 23:40Speaker 4: in the business of insurance.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Berdland Territory Continuing tonight with you, Tim Barbleace is on
- 23:47Speaker 1: assignment doing national radio. He'll be mad with us next show,
- 23:51Speaker 1: and man, he's guys handsful today, Brett four hours of
- 23:54Speaker 1: his own show and five hours of a national I've
- 23:56Speaker 1: never heard of that. Nine st eight hours on air.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Man having cough, drops righty for your.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Drink and drive home. He should even drive himself home
- 24:06Speaker 1: after that. So these players leave the clubhouse, man, these
- 24:10Speaker 1: are guys that really were well regarded in their kramer
- 24:14Speaker 1: Ward Rutchman wells. How do they pick up the pieces?
- 24:18Speaker 1: What will it be like in that clubhouse tomorrow?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's I think it's one of those
- 24:23Speaker 2: things where a lot of times when trade deadlines come
- 24:25Speaker 2: and go, it's not really discussed. You know, you kind
- 24:27Speaker 2: of get to the field and you just go about
- 24:29Speaker 2: your business, and uh, the guys are gone. It's tough sometimes,
- 24:32Speaker 2: but you just got to pick up the pieces. But
- 24:35Speaker 2: I think Alburnz might need to address it tomorrow. It's
- 24:37Speaker 2: a that was a that was a big that was
- 24:39Speaker 2: a big one. They're losing a lot of guys, a
- 24:41Speaker 2: lot of guys, guys liked, a lot of guys that
- 24:44Speaker 2: were respected, and I think with Pete and hopefully Bassets
- 24:48Speaker 2: around too, they can kind of use all three of
- 24:52Speaker 2: them because I think being a rookie manager on top
- 24:53Speaker 2: of all this, this is another situation he's never had
- 24:56Speaker 2: to deal with before as a manager, and this is
- 24:58Speaker 2: I think a tough one. So I think I think
- 25:00Speaker 2: something's got to be said. I think you just kind
- 25:02Speaker 2: of go out there and say, hey, guys, you know what,
- 25:04Speaker 2: we can kind of exceale like these are the guys
- 25:06Speaker 2: that are going to be here. Nobody's leaving from this group.
- 25:09Speaker 2: We got to go out there and compete with the
- 25:10Speaker 2: guys we got and just kind of talk about the
- 25:13Speaker 2: elephant in the room and then it's back to work
- 25:15Speaker 2: like normal and they're still in this thing. And that's
- 25:17Speaker 2: like the craziest part of all this is that they're
- 25:19Speaker 2: only two enough games out of the Wildcard, Like we've
- 25:21Speaker 2: talked about. The records might not be where they want
- 25:23Speaker 2: it to be the but the al has not gone
- 25:25Speaker 2: away from them, and this team still has a high
- 25:28Speaker 2: majority of the pieces that have gotten to them still
- 25:32Speaker 2: in the mix. So I think it's kind of one
- 25:33Speaker 2: of those things you address the elephant in the room
- 25:35Speaker 2: and just tell the guys, hey, it's a great time
- 25:37Speaker 2: for opportunity. It's a great time to improve going into
- 25:40Speaker 2: next season. And if we're if we keep going at
- 25:42Speaker 2: it every day with the work that we have talked
- 25:45Speaker 2: about doing this on a first day mentality, at the
- 25:48Speaker 2: end of the year, we're gonna like where we're at
- 25:49Speaker 2: in the standings. And I think that's kind of the
- 25:50Speaker 2: message you have to give to the guys and just
- 25:53Speaker 2: kind of hope that it's well received and they go
- 25:54Speaker 2: out there and just compete like they always say they
- 25:57Speaker 2: do every single day.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be interesting how they go on
- 26:01Speaker 1: from here, because when we last saw the Orioles with
- 26:03Speaker 1: those players, they were losing two to the Phillies and
- 26:06Speaker 1: not looking good doing it. So maybe there'll be some
- 26:08Speaker 1: kind of fresh start or some fresh vibe in there
- 26:11Speaker 1: and we'll see how they go on. Man, it'll be
- 26:14Speaker 1: interesting attractors team.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Steve, I was gonna ask you too, since you you're
- 26:18Speaker 2: no loyal Oriols fan, what do you think the fans
- 26:21Speaker 2: are feeling right now? Is it disappointment? Is it kind
- 26:24Speaker 2: of unknown? Is it frustration? What do you think You've
- 26:26Speaker 2: been around them enough to have an idea of what
- 26:29Speaker 2: maybe the fan base is thinking right now.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of disappointment, Brad, and I
- 26:34Speaker 1: hear I think this too. Social media tends to be
- 26:38Speaker 1: the folks who are more angry. There might be people
- 26:41Speaker 1: today who love a lot of these young kids they
- 26:43Speaker 1: got and I'm high on some of them, and they're quieter.
- 26:48Speaker 1: So it feels like the fan base is outrage today
- 26:52Speaker 1: and some are and I think they feel the team
- 26:54Speaker 1: punted the season and traded a marquee talent franchise player,
- 26:59Speaker 1: so they're they're down right now. But Brad, if you
- 27:02Speaker 1: win six out of seven, they'll be back. The Ools
- 27:06Speaker 1: have a chance to win them back, and over time
- 27:09Speaker 1: we'll see what some of these acquisitions do on the
- 27:12Speaker 1: farm and so forth. And the Oriols are not rebuilding folks.
- 27:15Speaker 1: We've touched on this on this show. All the play well,
- 27:18Speaker 1: all the team control. We've talked about. Bradish is now
- 27:21Speaker 1: here long term, Boz is now here long term. Maybe
- 27:24Speaker 1: this will lead to Rogers getting a deal. They're laying
- 27:28Speaker 1: the groundwork for a decent rotation in twenty twenty seven,
- 27:31Speaker 1: and they still have Oh, by the way, Gunner Henderson
- 27:35Speaker 1: and Pete Alonzo and Colton Cowser, and maybe they get
- 27:38Speaker 1: Westburg back. It's not the one hundred lost years. I
- 27:42Speaker 1: don't see that, and so but it's up to the
- 27:44Speaker 1: team to show us that's true.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think it's I was gonna follow you
- 27:48Speaker 2: up by just saying I think it's more of a
- 27:50Speaker 2: way to find their identity. I think this team just
- 27:52Speaker 2: hasn't had an identity this season. It's been you know,
- 27:55Speaker 2: the hitting has been good, then the pitching's been good,
- 27:57Speaker 2: and it just feels like it just doesn't have like
- 27:59Speaker 2: this identity yet. And maybe these two months the guys
- 28:02Speaker 2: rally together, and that's what I hope for the fan
- 28:05Speaker 2: base and I and I really think this clubhouse can do.
- 28:07Speaker 2: It is where they rally together and where when everybody
- 28:10Speaker 2: on the outside is kind of looking in and saying
- 28:12Speaker 2: they punted on the season, they got rid of ADLEI
- 28:14Speaker 2: like the rebuild is over and the error is done.
- 28:17Speaker 2: But it's that kind of a way of guys getting
- 28:19Speaker 2: together and really saying, you know, let's give them something
- 28:22Speaker 2: to cheer forward, Let's give them something to roof for
- 28:25Speaker 2: and really get our backs. And I think it's it's
- 28:27Speaker 2: kind of a unique opportunity that can come out of
- 28:29Speaker 2: something that might seem like a crazy day and things
- 28:32Speaker 2: that kind of came out of left field. But at
- 28:34Speaker 2: the end of the season, you kind of hope that
- 28:35Speaker 2: they can get it rolling into next year and whether
- 28:37Speaker 2: that's in the playoffs or not this year, I just
- 28:40Speaker 2: hope that they can use this as positive momentum heading
- 28:42Speaker 2: into the offseason.
- 28:43Speaker 3: And then you got to hope the labor agreements come together.
- 28:46Speaker 2: But that's the thing you can control as it is,
- 28:48Speaker 2: but it's just get some positive momentum heading towards next
- 28:51Speaker 2: year and then with these young guys they got, hopefully
- 28:54Speaker 2: they got some gems there and they can really kind
- 28:55Speaker 2: of just add to what they built.
- 28:57Speaker 1: At the end of the season, player like Adlee walks
- 29:01Speaker 1: out the door, they broke up the band, right, But
- 29:03Speaker 1: I think the Orioles are gonna hope and the message
- 29:07Speaker 1: of the fans might be let's see what the new
- 29:09Speaker 1: band looks like and what kind of tunes they can
- 29:11Speaker 1: play and real quickly, MLB Pipeline added some of the
- 29:16Speaker 1: players they got in the top thirty. We mentioned Anthony
- 29:19Speaker 1: Allenson is their number one oriol prospect per MLB Pipeline.
- 29:23Speaker 1: They've got Kyson Witherspoon, Boston pitcher. They got number six,
- 29:27Speaker 1: the Boston outfielder Andy as a car number seven. They
- 29:31Speaker 1: haven't added in Farrett yet. He'll go in the top
- 29:35Speaker 1: ten somewhere. And they have Jermondo Reyes, the outfield they
- 29:38Speaker 1: got from the Twins at number twenty two. So the
- 29:40Speaker 1: Orioles probably went from middle of the pack in farm
- 29:43Speaker 1: team rankings. I'll bet to maybe ten or something with
- 29:46Speaker 1: this influx of talent. And oh, by the way, Michael
- 29:49Speaker 1: Farrett one of my favorite oriol pitching prospects last year.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I was down when they traded him. I like this guy, Brad,
- 29:58Speaker 1: maybe as much as anybody I saw last year. And
- 30:00Speaker 1: that counts Trey Gibson, because those are the two stars
- 30:03Speaker 1: in the system last year Forrett. Last year, by the way,
- 30:05Speaker 1: Brad pitched a one five adra between Aberdeen and Chesapeake
- 30:09Speaker 1: when they traded him. He was double A. So he
- 30:12Speaker 1: goes to Tampa this year and in nineteen starts, is
- 30:16Speaker 1: seven and two of the three twenty nine. He's the
- 30:19Speaker 1: raised number eight pitcher. He throws six pitches. Had a
- 30:22Speaker 1: scout told me today that he's touched ninety six. He
- 30:24Speaker 1: saw him pitch pretty recently, and this scout said he's
- 30:28Speaker 1: about ready. He's right about ready for his major league chance,
- 30:33Speaker 1: and said six pitches, and he has weapons against left
- 30:36Speaker 1: and right. Really really, this scout said, long term ceiling.
- 30:42Speaker 1: He likes FORRHTT more than he likes Stean Kramer. Wow,
- 30:46Speaker 1: kind of interesting. There are very different points in their career.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Dean's obviously established five or six years in the BIGS.
- 30:51Speaker 1: This kid hasn't pitched a game yet in the BIGS.
- 30:53Speaker 1: But he was the Oil fourteenth round pick in twenty
- 30:56Speaker 1: twenty three, traded for Shane Boz and today traded for
- 31:00Speaker 1: Todler Wells. They got him back. So I'm excited to
- 31:02Speaker 1: see Michael Farrett and that he might maybe he'll make
- 31:06Speaker 1: his major league debut before this year is out. He
- 31:08Speaker 1: throws to de f ball too. Oh, by the way, okay,
- 31:11Speaker 1: so we'll see you all.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Looks well, sometimes when you go to another organization too,
- 31:16Speaker 2: you pick up some tips here and there too, So
- 31:17Speaker 2: maybe he found something else or made something better. And
- 31:20Speaker 2: the fact that they got him back and you're high
- 31:22Speaker 2: on them, I like him then because you know what
- 31:24Speaker 2: you're doing, so you know what you're talking about.
- 31:26Speaker 3: So that's that's exciting. They got him back.
- 31:27Speaker 1: But he's pitching for the Rays. No one does it
- 31:30Speaker 1: much better than the Rays. So he picked up some
- 31:32Speaker 1: things along the way. So we're about done, man, that
- 31:35Speaker 1: we got through faster to night. We just want to
- 31:39Speaker 1: tip our cap the Dean Kramer, Tyler Ward, Adlee, Rutchman,
- 31:42Speaker 1: Todter Wells. I mean, they were four main stays in
- 31:45Speaker 1: there for me. Each one of those four were tremendous
- 31:48Speaker 1: to deal with. They're great people beyond being good ballplayers,
- 31:52Speaker 1: and they did a lot for the Orioles. And I
- 31:54Speaker 1: know fans are you know, they're feelable down about that today.
- 31:57Speaker 1: You get attached to these guys, you know, Brad, you
- 32:00Speaker 1: saw it this weekend with the Hall of Fame. Birdland
- 32:02Speaker 1: still loves the guys of your era, and that's sally
- 32:05Speaker 1: they feel about Orioles here in in Birdland. There they're
- 32:07Speaker 1: special to.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Us for sure.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And when you, like you said, when it's when it's
- 32:11Speaker 2: good guys, it always I mean it's when.
- 32:13Speaker 3: They're good ballplayers, it's tough to lose them.
- 32:14Speaker 2: But when they're good guys, and especially when they treat
- 32:16Speaker 2: the media right, I always root for those guys because
- 32:19Speaker 2: it's it's just part of the job, and you know,
- 32:22Speaker 2: some guys are better at it than others. But when
- 32:24Speaker 2: they're good guys and they go elsewhere, it's it's tough
- 32:26Speaker 2: to see them go, but you always wish them luck
- 32:28Speaker 2: when they when they head to a new place, you.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Never want to see them do bad. Like I said,
- 32:31Speaker 3: I just hope.
- 32:32Speaker 2: It's not against the O's when they get to see
- 32:34Speaker 2: these guys, but it's, uh, you definitely wish them luck
- 32:36Speaker 2: when they head there, and you know, you just thank
- 32:38Speaker 2: them for what they did for Birdland because the fans
- 32:40Speaker 2: are the best and they don't forget and they love
- 32:42Speaker 2: their guys, And that's that's one thing I can say
- 32:44Speaker 2: after like you said this weekend, you can tell they
- 32:47Speaker 2: just love their orioles and the guys that do play
- 32:49Speaker 2: the game the right way and go about it the
- 32:50Speaker 2: right way.
- 32:51Speaker 3: They really respect.
- 32:52Speaker 2: And it's like you said, tough to see those guys go,
- 32:54Speaker 2: but hopefully it opens the door for some more guys
- 32:57Speaker 2: to kind of, you know, get to put their their
- 33:00Speaker 2: on Birdland. And that's what the hope is for the
- 33:02Speaker 2: rest of this year.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Tell you what, if the Oils aren't playing in October,
- 33:05Speaker 1: I'll be watching the Rays, Man, I'll be rooting for
- 33:07Speaker 1: Brian Baker and Tyler Wells and Cedarc Mullins. And oh,
- 33:11Speaker 1: by the way, Brandon Hyde is a big part of
- 33:14Speaker 1: things in Tampa right now. I understand he pretty much
- 33:17Speaker 1: is around every home game helping out with the major
- 33:19Speaker 1: league team, and when they go away, he goes to
- 33:21Speaker 1: the miners. So they really like Brandon's help in Tampa.
- 33:26Speaker 1: They got the Baltimore connection. They're helping them be in
- 33:29Speaker 1: first place. Brad will see you soon. We'll get our
- 33:31Speaker 1: buddy back. Tim. He'll be tired, but he'll be happy
- 33:34Speaker 1: to rejoin us. And keep subscribing Birdland. That last episode
- 33:39Speaker 1: we did got a ton of views. Hopefully this one
- 33:40Speaker 1: will too, and we get those subscribers. We're closing it
- 33:44Speaker 1: on a thousand, man, are we gonna have a party
- 33:46Speaker 1: when that happens. So thanks for that. Keep subscribing, and
- 33:49Speaker 1: we'll see you next time on another birdland territory in
- 34:07Speaker 1: SA
