- 0:00Speaker 1: Mosiah chapter twelve. And it came to pass that, after
- 0:04Speaker 1: the space of two years, that Abinedai came among them
- 0:07Speaker 1: in disguise that they knew him not, and began to
- 0:10Speaker 1: prophesy among them, saying, thus hath the Lord commanded me, saying, Abinedai,
- 0:16Speaker 1: go and prophesy unto this my people. For they have
- 0:19Speaker 1: hardened their hearts against my words. They have repented not
- 0:23Speaker 1: of their evil doings. Therefore I will visit them in
- 0:26Speaker 1: my anger yea, and my fierce anger. Will I visit
- 0:29Speaker 1: them in their iniquities and abominations yea. Woe be unto
- 0:33Speaker 1: this generation. And the Lord said, unto me, stretch forth
- 0:37Speaker 1: thy hand and prophesy, saying, thus saith the Lord. It
- 0:41Speaker 1: shall come to pass that this generation, because of their iniquities,
- 0:44Speaker 1: shall be brought into bondage, and shall be smitten on
- 0:47Speaker 1: the cheek yea, and shall be driven by man and
- 0:49Speaker 1: shall be slain. And the vultures of the air and
- 0:52Speaker 1: the dogs yea, and the wild beasts shall devour their flesh.
- 0:57Speaker 1: And it shall come to pass that the life of
- 0:58Speaker 1: King Noah shall be value even as a garment in
- 1:01Speaker 1: a hot furnace, for he shall know that I am
- 1:04Speaker 1: the Lord, and it shall come to pass that I
- 1:07Speaker 1: will smite this my people with sore afflictions, yea, with famine,
- 1:11Speaker 1: and with pestilence. And I will cause that they shall
- 1:14Speaker 1: howl all the day long, Yea. And I will cause
- 1:17Speaker 1: that they shall have burdens lashed upon their backs, and
- 1:20Speaker 1: they shall be driven before like a dumb ass. And
- 1:23Speaker 1: it shall come to pass that I will send forth
- 1:25Speaker 1: hail among them, and it shall smite them. And they
- 1:28Speaker 1: shall also be smitten with the east wind, and insects
- 1:32Speaker 1: shall pester their land also and devour their grain, and
- 1:36Speaker 1: they shall be smitten with a great pestilence. And all
- 1:39Speaker 1: this will I do because of their iniquities and abominations.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And it shall come to pass that except they repent,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I will utterly destroy them from off the face of
- 1:49Speaker 1: the earth. Yet they shall leave a record behind them,
- 1:53Speaker 1: and I will preserve them for other nations which shall
- 1:55Speaker 1: possess the land. Yea. Even this will I do, that
- 1:58Speaker 1: I may discover the abomination nations of this people to
- 2:01Speaker 1: other nations, and many things that have been at thy
- 2:04Speaker 1: prophesy against this people. And it came to pass that
- 2:08Speaker 1: they were angry with him and they took him and
- 2:11Speaker 1: carried him bound before the King, and said, unto the King, Behold,
- 2:14Speaker 1: we have brought a man before thee who has prophesied
- 2:17Speaker 1: evil concerning thy people, and saith that God will destroy them.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And he also prophesieth evil concerning thy life, and saith
- 2:25Speaker 1: that thy life shall be as a garment in a
- 2:27Speaker 1: furnace of fire. And again he saith that thou shalt
- 2:30Speaker 1: be as a stalk, even as a dry stock of
- 2:33Speaker 1: the field, which is run over by the beasts and
- 2:35Speaker 1: trodden under foot. And again he saith that thou shalt
- 2:39Speaker 1: be as the blossoms of a thistle, which, when it
- 2:42Speaker 1: is fully ripe, if the wind bloweth, it is driven
- 2:44Speaker 1: forth upon the face of the land. And he pretend
- 2:48Speaker 1: that the Lord hath spoken it. And he saith, all
- 2:50Speaker 1: this shall come upon thee except thou repent. And this
- 2:54Speaker 1: because of thine iniquities. And now, O King, what great
- 2:58Speaker 1: evil hast thou done, or what great sins have thy
- 3:01Speaker 1: people committed? That we should be condemned of God or
- 3:04Speaker 1: judged of this man. And now, O King, behold, we
- 3:08Speaker 1: are guiltless, and thou, O King, hast not sinned. Therefore
- 3:13Speaker 1: this man has lied concerning you, and he has prophesied
- 3:16Speaker 1: in vain. And behold, we are strong. We shall not
- 3:19Speaker 1: come into bondage or be taken captive by our enemies. Yea.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And thou hast prospered in the land, and thou shalt
- 3:26Speaker 1: also prosper. Behold, here is the man. We deliver him
- 3:31Speaker 1: into thy hands. Thou mayest do with him as seemeth
- 3:34Speaker 1: thee good. And it came to pass that King Noah
- 3:38Speaker 1: caused that a Benedai should be cast into prison, and
- 3:42Speaker 1: he commanded that the priests should gather themselves together, that
- 3:45Speaker 1: he might hold a council with them what he should
- 3:47Speaker 1: do with him. And it came to pass that they said,
- 3:50Speaker 1: unto the king, bring him hither, that we may question him.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And the king commanded that he should be brought before them,
- 3:58Speaker 1: and they began to question him, that they might cross him,
- 4:00Speaker 1: that thereby they might have wherewith to accuse him. But
- 4:04Speaker 1: he answered them boldly and withstood all their questions. Yea,
- 4:08Speaker 1: to their astonishment. For he did withstand them in all
- 4:12Speaker 1: their questions, and did confound them in all their words.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And it came to pass that one of them said,
- 4:17Speaker 1: unto him, what meaneth the words which are written and
- 4:21Speaker 1: which have been taught by our fathers, saying, how beautiful
- 4:24Speaker 1: upon the mountains are the feet of Him that bringeth
- 4:27Speaker 1: good tidings. That publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good,
- 4:32Speaker 1: that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, thy God reigneth
- 4:37Speaker 1: thy watchman. Shall lift up the voice. With the voice.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Together shall they sing, for they shall see eye to
- 4:42Speaker 1: eye when the Lord shall bring again Zion. Break forth
- 4:46Speaker 1: into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem. For
- 4:50Speaker 1: the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
- 4:54Speaker 1: The Lord hath made bear his holy arm. In the
- 4:57Speaker 1: eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of
- 4:59Speaker 1: the ear earth shall see the salvation of our God.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And now, Abned, I said, unto them, are you priests
- 5:07Speaker 1: and pretend to teach this people and to understand the
- 5:10Speaker 1: spirit of prophesying, and yet desire to know of me
- 5:14Speaker 1: what these things mean? I say unto you, woe be
- 5:17Speaker 1: unto you for perverting the ways of the Lord. For
- 5:20Speaker 1: if ye understood these things, ye have not taught them.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Therefore ye have perverted the ways of the Lord. Ye
- 5:27Speaker 1: have not applied your hearts to understanding. Therefore ye have
- 5:30Speaker 1: not been wise. Therefore, what teache this people? And they said,
- 5:35Speaker 1: we teach the law of Moses. And again he said,
- 5:39Speaker 1: unto them, if ye teach the law of Moses, why
- 5:42Speaker 1: do ye not keep it? Why do ye set your
- 5:45Speaker 1: hearts upon riches? Why do ye commit hortems and spend
- 5:48Speaker 1: your strength with harlots? Yea, and cause this people to
- 5:51Speaker 1: commit sin that the Lord has cause to send me
- 5:54Speaker 1: to prophesy against this people, yea, even a great evil
- 5:57Speaker 1: against this people. Know ye not that I speak the truth? Yea,
- 6:01Speaker 1: Ye know that I speak the truth. And ye ought
- 6:04Speaker 1: to tremble before God. And it shall come to pass
- 6:07Speaker 1: that ye shall be smitten for your iniquities. For ye
- 6:10Speaker 1: have said that ye teach the law of Moses. And
- 6:13Speaker 1: what know ye concerning the law of Moses. Doth salvation
- 6:17Speaker 1: come by the law of Moses? What see ye? And
- 6:20Speaker 1: they answered and said that salvation did come by the
- 6:23Speaker 1: law of Moses. But now ABINEDI said, unto them, I
- 6:28Speaker 1: know if ye keep the commandments of God, ye shall
- 6:30Speaker 1: be saved. Yea, if ye keep the commandments which the
- 6:33Speaker 1: Lord delivered unto Moses in the mount of Sinai, saying,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I am the Lord thy God, who hath brought thee
- 6:40Speaker 1: out of the land of Egypt, out of the house
- 6:42Speaker 1: of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or
- 6:50Speaker 1: any likeness of anything in heaven above, or things which
- 6:53Speaker 1: are in the earth beneath. Now ABINEDI said, unto them,
- 6:57Speaker 1: have ye done all this? I say unto you, nay ye,
- 7:00Speaker 1: ye have not. And have you taught this people that
- 7:02Speaker 1: they should do all these things? I say unto you,
- 7:05Speaker 1: nay ye have not. Mosiah chapter thirteen. And now when
- 7:14Speaker 1: the king had heard these words, he said, unto his priests,
- 7:17Speaker 1: away with this fellow and slay him, for what have
- 7:20Speaker 1: we to do with him? For he is mad. And
- 7:23Speaker 1: they stood forth and attempted to lay their hands on him.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But he withstood them and said, unto them, touch me not,
- 7:30Speaker 1: for God shall smite you if ye lay your hands
- 7:32Speaker 1: upon me. For I have not delivered the message which
- 7:35Speaker 1: the Lord sent me to deliver. Neither have I told
- 7:38Speaker 1: you that which ye requested that I should tell. Therefore,
- 7:41Speaker 1: God will not suffer that I shall be destroyed at
- 7:43Speaker 1: this time. But I must fulfill the commandments wherewith God
- 7:48Speaker 1: has commanded me. And because I have told you the truth,
- 7:51Speaker 1: ye are angry with me. And again, because I have
- 7:54Speaker 1: spoken the word of God, ye have judged me that
- 7:56Speaker 1: I am mad. Now it came to pass after a
- 7:59Speaker 1: minutae I had spoken these words, that the people of
- 8:02Speaker 1: King Noah durst not lay their hands on him, for
- 8:05Speaker 1: the spirit of the Lord was upon him, and his
- 8:07Speaker 1: face shone with exceeding luster, even as Moses did while
- 8:11Speaker 1: in the Mount of Sinai while speaking with the Lord,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and he spake with power and authority from God. And
- 8:17Speaker 1: he continued his words, saying, ye see that ye have
- 8:21Speaker 1: not power to slay me. Therefore I finish my message, yea.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And I perceive that it cuts you to your hearts,
- 8:27Speaker 1: because I tell you the truth concerning your iniquities. Yea.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And my words fill you with wonder and amazement and
- 8:34Speaker 1: with anger. But I finish my message. And then it
- 8:38Speaker 1: matters not whither I go, if it so be that
- 8:40Speaker 1: I am saved. But this much, I tell you what
- 8:44Speaker 1: you do with me after this shall be a type
- 8:47Speaker 1: and a shadow of things which are to come. And
- 8:50Speaker 1: now I read unto you the remainder of the commandments
- 8:52Speaker 1: of God. For I perceive that they are not written
- 8:56Speaker 1: in your hearts. I perceive that ye have studied and
- 8:59Speaker 1: taught a niquity the most part of your lives. And
- 9:03Speaker 1: now ye remember that I said unto you, thou shalt
- 9:05Speaker 1: not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness
- 9:08Speaker 1: of things which are in heaven above, or which are
- 9:11Speaker 1: in the earth beneath, or which are in the water
- 9:14Speaker 1: under the earth. And again thou shalt not bow down
- 9:17Speaker 1: thyself unto them, nor serve them. For I, the Lord
- 9:21Speaker 1: thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of
- 9:24Speaker 1: the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
- 9:27Speaker 1: generations of them that hate me, and showing mercy unto
- 9:31Speaker 1: thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy
- 9:38Speaker 1: God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him
- 9:40Speaker 1: guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath
- 9:45Speaker 1: day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor
- 9:48Speaker 1: and do all thy work. But the seventh day, the
- 9:51Speaker 1: Sabbath of the Lord thy God, thou shalt not do
- 9:53Speaker 1: any work thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant,
- 9:58Speaker 1: nor thy maid servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger
- 10:02Speaker 1: that is within thy gates. For in six days the
- 10:05Speaker 1: Lord made heaven and earth and the sea, and all
- 10:08Speaker 1: that in them is. Wherefore the Lord bless the Sabbath
- 10:12Speaker 1: day and hallowed it honor thy father and thy mother,
- 10:15Speaker 1: that thy days may be long upon the land which
- 10:17Speaker 1: the Lord thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill,
- 10:22Speaker 1: Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not still, Thou
- 10:27Speaker 1: shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shalt
- 10:31Speaker 1: not covet thy neighbor's house. Thou shalt not covet thy
- 10:35Speaker 1: neighbor's wife, nor his man servant, nor his maid servant,
- 10:39Speaker 1: nor his ox, nor his ass nor anything that is
- 10:42Speaker 1: thy neighbors. And it came to pass that after a
- 10:45Speaker 1: bennet I had made an end of these sayings that
- 10:47Speaker 1: he said, unto them, have ye taught this people that
- 10:50Speaker 1: they should observe to do all these things? For to
- 10:52Speaker 1: keep these commandments? I say unto you nay, For if
- 10:56Speaker 1: ye had, the Lord would not have caused me to
- 10:59Speaker 1: come forth and to prophesy evil concerning this people. And
- 11:03Speaker 1: now ye have said that salvation cometh by the Law
- 11:05Speaker 1: of Moses. I say unto you that it is expedient
- 11:09Speaker 1: that ye should keep the law of Moses as yet.
- 11:12Speaker 1: But I say unto you that the time shall come
- 11:14Speaker 1: when it shall no more be expedient to keep the
- 11:17Speaker 1: law of Moses. And moreover, I say unto you that
- 11:20Speaker 1: salvation doth not come by the law alone. And were
- 11:24Speaker 1: it not for the atonement which God himself shall make
- 11:27Speaker 1: for the sins and iniquities of his people, that they
- 11:29Speaker 1: must unavoidably perish, notwithstanding the Law of Moses. And now
- 11:35Speaker 1: I say unto you that it was expedient that there
- 11:37Speaker 1: should be a law given to the children of Israel, YEA,
- 11:40Speaker 1: even a very strict law. For they were a stiff
- 11:42Speaker 1: necked people, quick to do iniquity and slow to remember
- 11:45Speaker 1: the Lord their God. Therefore there was a law given them, YEA,
- 11:50Speaker 1: a law of performances and of ordinances, a law which
- 11:53Speaker 1: they were to observe strictly from day to day, to
- 11:55Speaker 1: keep them in remembrance of God and their duty towards Him.
- 12:00Speaker 1: But behold, I say unto you that all these things
- 12:02Speaker 1: were types of things to come. And now did they
- 12:05Speaker 1: understand the law? I say unto you. Nay, they did
- 12:09Speaker 1: not all understand the law in this because of the
- 12:11Speaker 1: hardness of their hearts. For they understood not that there
- 12:14Speaker 1: could not any man be saved except it were through
- 12:17Speaker 1: the redemption of God. For behold, did not Moses prophesy
- 12:21Speaker 1: unto them concerning the coming of the Messiah and that
- 12:25Speaker 1: God should redeem his people? Yea. And even all the
- 12:28Speaker 1: prophets who have prophesied ever since the world began, have
- 12:32Speaker 1: they not spoken more or less concerning these things? Have
- 12:36Speaker 1: they not said that God himself should come down among
- 12:38Speaker 1: the children of men and take upon him the form
- 12:41Speaker 1: of man, and go forth in mighty power upon the
- 12:44Speaker 1: face of the earth? Yea? And have they not said
- 12:47Speaker 1: also that He should bring to pass the resurrection of
- 12:51Speaker 1: the dead, and that he himself should be oppressed and
- 12:55Speaker 1: afflicted Mosiah chapter five fourteen. Yea. Even doth not Isaiah say,
- 13:04Speaker 1: who hath believed our report? And to whom is the
- 13:06Speaker 1: arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up
- 13:10Speaker 1: before him as a tender plant, and as a root
- 13:13Speaker 1: out of dry ground. He hath no form nor comeliness
- 13:16Speaker 1: and when we shall see him, there is no beauty
- 13:18Speaker 1: that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected
- 13:22Speaker 1: of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And we hid, as it were, our faces from him.
- 13:29Speaker 1: He was despised, and we esteemed him not surely he
- 13:34Speaker 1: has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we
- 13:39Speaker 1: did esteem him, stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But
- 13:44Speaker 1: he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for
- 13:48Speaker 1: our iniquities. That chastisement of our peace was upon him.
- 13:52Speaker 1: And with his stripes we are healed. All we, like sheep,
- 13:58Speaker 1: have gone astray. We have turned every one to his
- 14:01Speaker 1: own way. And the Lord hath laid on him the
- 14:04Speaker 1: iniquities of us. All he was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
- 14:09Speaker 1: Yet he opened not his mouth. He is brought as
- 14:12Speaker 1: a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before
- 14:15Speaker 1: her shearers, is dumb, So he opened not his mouth.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He was taken from prison and from judgment. And who
- 14:22Speaker 1: shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out
- 14:26Speaker 1: of the land of the living for the transgressions of
- 14:28Speaker 1: my people. Was he stricken, and he made his grave
- 14:32Speaker 1: with the wicked and with the rich in his death,
- 14:34Speaker 1: because he had done no evil, neither was any deceit
- 14:37Speaker 1: in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.
- 14:42Speaker 1: He hath put him to grief. When thou shalt make
- 14:45Speaker 1: his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed.
- 14:48Speaker 1: He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the
- 14:51Speaker 1: Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see the
- 14:54Speaker 1: travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied by his knowledge.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Shall my righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear
- 15:02Speaker 1: their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with
- 15:06Speaker 1: the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Because he hath poured out his soul into death, and
- 15:13Speaker 1: he was numbered with the transgressors, and he bore the
- 15:16Speaker 1: sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors Mosiah
- 15:23Speaker 1: chapter fifteen. And now Abinaedi said, unto them, I would
- 15:28Speaker 1: think ye should understand that God himself shall come down
- 15:31Speaker 1: among the children of men and shall redeem his people.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And because he dwelleth in flesh, he shall be called
- 15:39Speaker 1: the son of God. And having subjected the flesh to
- 15:43Speaker 1: the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son,
- 15:47Speaker 1: the Father because he was conceived by the power of God,
- 15:50Speaker 1: and the Son because of the flesh, thus becoming the
- 15:54Speaker 1: Father and Son. And they are one God, yea, the
- 15:57Speaker 1: very eternal Father of heaven and of earth. And thus
- 16:01Speaker 1: the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the son
- 16:05Speaker 1: to the Father. Being one God suffereth temptation, and yieldeth
- 16:09Speaker 1: not to the temptation, but suffereth himself to be mocked
- 16:13Speaker 1: and scourged, and cast out and disowned by his people.
- 16:17Speaker 1: And after all this, after working many mighty miracles among
- 16:20Speaker 1: the children of men, he shall be led. Yea, even
- 16:23Speaker 1: as Isaiah said, as a sheep before the shearer is dumb,
- 16:27Speaker 1: so he opened not his mouth. Yea. Even so he
- 16:31Speaker 1: shall be led, crucified, and slain, the flesh becoming subject
- 16:35Speaker 1: even unto death, the will of the Son being swallowed
- 16:39Speaker 1: up in the will of the Father. And thus God
- 16:42Speaker 1: breaketh the bands of death, having gained the victory over death,
- 16:46Speaker 1: giving the Son power to make intercession for the children
- 16:49Speaker 1: of men, having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of
- 16:53Speaker 1: mercy being filled with compassion towards the children of men
- 16:57Speaker 1: standing betwixt them, and justice, having broken the bands of death,
- 17:02Speaker 1: taken upon himself their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed
- 17:07Speaker 1: them and satisfied the demands of justice. And now I
- 17:10Speaker 1: say unto you, who shall declare his generation? Behold? I
- 17:15Speaker 1: say unto you that when his soul has been made
- 17:17Speaker 1: an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. And
- 17:21Speaker 1: now what say ye and who shall be his seed? Behold?
- 17:25Speaker 1: I say unto you that whosoever has heard the words
- 17:28Speaker 1: of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have
- 17:31Speaker 1: prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord, I say unto
- 17:35Speaker 1: you that all those who have hearkened unto their words
- 17:38Speaker 1: and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and
- 17:42Speaker 1: have looked forward to that day for a remission of
- 17:44Speaker 1: their sins, I say unto you that these are his seed,
- 17:48Speaker 1: or they are heirs of the Kingdom of God. For
- 17:51Speaker 1: these are they whose sins he has borne. These are
- 17:54Speaker 1: they for whom He has died to redeem them from
- 17:56Speaker 1: their transgressions. And now are they not His seeded yea?
- 18:01Speaker 1: And are not the prophets every one that has opened
- 18:03Speaker 1: his mouth to prophesy, that has not fallen into transgression
- 18:07Speaker 1: I mean all the holy prophets ever since the world began.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I say unto you that they are His seed. And
- 18:14Speaker 1: these are they who have published peace, who have brought
- 18:17Speaker 1: good tidings of good, who have published salvation, and said, untosion,
- 18:21Speaker 1: thy God reigneth. And oh, how beautiful upon the mountains
- 18:25Speaker 1: were their feet. And again, how beautiful upon the mountains
- 18:29Speaker 1: are the feet of those that are still publishing peace.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And again, how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet
- 18:36Speaker 1: of those who shall hereafter publish peace. Yea, from this time,
- 18:41Speaker 1: henceforth and forever. And behold, I say unto you, this
- 18:45Speaker 1: is not all. For Oh, how beautiful upon the mountains
- 18:49Speaker 1: are the feed of Him that bringeth good tidings, that
- 18:52Speaker 1: is the founder of peace. Yea, Even the Lord who
- 18:55Speaker 1: has redeemed his people. Yea, him who has granted salvation
- 19:00Speaker 1: to his people. For were it not for the redemption
- 19:03Speaker 1: which he hath made for his people, which was prepared
- 19:06Speaker 1: from the foundation of the world, I say unto you,
- 19:09Speaker 1: were it not for this, all mankind must have perished.
- 19:13Speaker 1: But behold, the bands of death shall be broken, and
- 19:16Speaker 1: the Son reigneth and hath power over the death. Therefore
- 19:20Speaker 1: he bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead. And
- 19:23Speaker 1: there cometh a resurrection, even a first resurrection, yea, even
- 19:27Speaker 1: a resurrection of those that have been, and who are,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and who shall be, even until the resurrection of Christ,
- 19:33Speaker 1: for so shall he be called. And now the resurrection
- 19:37Speaker 1: of all the prophets, and all those that have believed
- 19:39Speaker 1: in their words, or all those that have kept the
- 19:42Speaker 1: commandments of God, shall come forth in the first Resurrection.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Therefore they are the first resurrection. They are raised to
- 19:50Speaker 1: dwell with God, who has redeemed them. Thus they have
- 19:53Speaker 1: eternal life through Christ, who has broken the bands of death.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And these are those who have part in the First
- 19:59Speaker 1: resist And these are they that have died before Christ
- 20:03Speaker 1: came in their ignorance, not having salvation declared unto them.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And thus the Lord bringeth about the restoration of these.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And they have a part in the First Resurrection, or
- 20:13Speaker 1: have eternal life, being redeemed by the Lord. And little
- 20:18Speaker 1: children also have eternal life. But behold and fear, and
- 20:23Speaker 1: tremble before God, for ye ought to tremble, for the
- 20:26Speaker 1: Lord redeemeeth none such that rebel against Him and die
- 20:29Speaker 1: in their sins. Yea, even all those that have perished
- 20:32Speaker 1: in their sins ever since the world began, that have
- 20:35Speaker 1: wilfully rebelled against God, that have known the commandments of
- 20:38Speaker 1: God and would not keep them. These are they that
- 20:42Speaker 1: have no part in the First Resurrection. Therefore, ought ye
- 20:46Speaker 1: not to tremble, For salvation cometh to none such. For
- 20:50Speaker 1: the Lord hath redeemed none such. Yea, Neither can the
- 20:53Speaker 1: Lord redeem such, for he cannot deny himself, for he
- 20:57Speaker 1: cannot deny justice when it has its claim. And now
- 21:01Speaker 1: I say unto you that the time shall come that
- 21:04Speaker 1: the salvation of the Lord shall be declared to every nation,
- 21:07Speaker 1: kindred tongue and people. Yea, Lord, thy watchmen shall lift
- 21:12Speaker 1: up their voice. With the voice, together shall they sing,
- 21:15Speaker 1: for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord
- 21:18Speaker 1: shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together,
- 21:22Speaker 1: ye waste places of Jerusalem. For the Lord hath comforted
- 21:26Speaker 1: his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath made
- 21:30Speaker 1: bear his Holy arm in the eyes of all the nations,
- 21:33Speaker 1: and all the ends of the earth shall see the
- 21:35Speaker 1: salvation of our God and of Mosiah. Chapters twelve through
