- 0:00Yeah, who's doing it for real? Rock, paper, scissors to see who
- 0:03decides. OK.
- 0:04But I don't know if I could say and do it at the same time.
- 0:06Yeah, it's. Actually pretty epic
- 0:07multitasking, I hear. Fine.
- 0:09So we'll just do it and then we'll the results.
- 0:11OK, rock, paper, scissors. Shoot.
- 0:14Scissors loses the rock I lose. I'm out of here now.
- 0:22Solo podcast today. Alright, go for.
- 0:24It how? How does it go again?
- 0:30No, I can't. What do you mean?
- 0:35But what about bound banger management Fantasy hockey
- 0:38podcast Woo woo woo. That was great.
- 0:43Yeah, that was great. That was great.
- 0:44That was great. Beginning and end of my podcast
- 0:47career. Take it away, boys, take it away
- 0:49every day. So if you haven't realized, Josh
- 0:51sounds a little bit different today.
- 0:54Yeah, that was my girlfriend. She did a fantastic job.
- 0:57Round of applause please. I wanna I wonder if there's a
- 1:03applause soundtrack. Like, yeah, we could do that.
- 1:05We're going to look for that. But anyway, welcome in everybody
- 1:08to Banger Management, the Fantasy Hockey Podcast with your
- 1:11host Jake Bleep. And Kevin Bleep is because Josh
- 1:14isn't here. Today, Josh isn't here.
- 1:16He had to go to the hospital. He had better things to do, I
- 1:19guess, by going to the hospital. Yeah, he had to go to the
- 1:21hospital. Finally at 4:00 AM, six AM, 6:00
- 1:26AM. Finally at 556, finally 556.
- 1:29He gave birth. Yeah.
- 1:31OK. His wife gave birth to a child.
- 1:34Yeah, both. You're right.
- 1:44OK, I was going to say the weather for how many times Josh
- 1:49has complained for his fantasy players not being available to
- 1:52play on his team because they're too busy having babies.
- 1:55Oh, that's true. Now Josh is not here on his own
- 1:58fantasy podcast because he's too busy having a kid.
- 2:01That's actually that, that is. I wish the listeners truly
- 2:05understood how hard that is. Full circle.
- 2:08That is like absolutely, totally Josh all the time.
- 2:12It's like, why did this guy have to have a kid?
- 2:15I here we are. When it was time for him to show
- 2:18up for the big leagues, he didn't.
- 2:21Oh God, Oh God. Just remember that next year,
- 2:24Josh, when you know, one of your first, one of your top three
- 2:28picks up having a kid losing you the week.
- 2:31So anyway, so yeah, today we're doing our Week 25 news and
- 2:35updates episode. As always, you could find the
- 2:37link to our social media in the link tree in the podcast
- 2:40description. And don't forget to follow us on
- 2:41Spotify or Apple podcast wherever you get your podcasts.
- 2:44Rate US five stars, whether or not you like what you hear.
- 2:47But with our pristine intro today, of course you like it.
- 2:51Because that was. Beautiful.
- 2:52I mean, I'm also gonna say is, you know, it's week 25, so a lot
- 2:55of championships are over because those happen in week 24.
- 2:59So just going to say hopefully Congrats to so many of you for
- 3:02winning your leagues. But if your championship in week
- 3:0425, that's why we're still here. And also a reminder that we're
- 3:08still going to be here in the off season, maybe less episodes,
- 3:11but we're still going to be here.
- 3:12So make sure you stay tuned for that.
- 3:16And but today, Week 25 news and updates and some tidbits.
- 3:21Fantasy hockey is is forever, so even if the season's over, we
- 3:26know that people are still like paying attention in the.
- 3:28For sure. I mean, we're going to have
- 3:29some, you know, we'll probably do some, some draft, some draft,
- 3:33Oh yeah, draft class episodes, some actual NHL playoff
- 3:37episodes. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:40I mean it. It makes a big difference.
- 3:41I mean, like coming into this year, we thought Nashville was
- 3:43gonna be so good because the offseason moves and won't.
- 3:46Wow, crazy you. Know this will be fun to cover.
- 3:48And also, even if you're in 2nd place, nothing.
- 3:51Nothing wrong with wrong. Nothing wrong.
- 3:53With that, but if you're in last place like Nashville or before,
- 3:56before last. Place.
- 3:57I meant in the fantasy you don't know you're going to lose this
- 4:00week. I'm just saying you don't know
- 4:03and our main league and he's he's preemptively worried that.
- 4:06He's not going away like the first time.
- 4:08It's not an all Menger management final in the.
- 4:10True, that's true. One of the guys, one of us.
- 4:12But that's why Josh isn't here. He was like, I'm not in the
- 4:17final, I'll just have a kid, I guess.
- 4:20The dog ate my homework of. Literally.
- 4:24Anyway, let's get into the tidbits, y'all.
- 4:26Brady to Chuck is out with an upper body injury.
- 4:30That's big. That's big.
- 4:31We don't know how many games he's going to miss, but with the
- 4:34Sens more comfortable in a playoff spot, they're probably
- 4:37going to arrest him for the playoffs if they.
- 4:38Can I think the sends are at this point basically all but
- 4:42clinched a playoff spot. Like they're like 99% chance
- 4:45they have to like lose out, I think to not make the playoffs.
- 4:47Yeah, which is fun. I mean, Brady could Chuck
- 4:49himself. I think he actually, I didn't
- 4:51really come through as much as he should have 4 for fantasy
- 4:54teams in week 24. So if you're in a week 25
- 4:58championship, that's kind of obviously blows because there's
- 5:01not really a straight one for one replacement.
- 5:03But I would say check if Dylan Cousin is still on your waiver
- 5:05wire because I think he's still roughly around 50% ownership.
- 5:09And he, I think he's going to become like he's the only other,
- 5:11I guess Big C on the team right now.
- 5:14So he's who I would want to have on my fantasy team.
- 5:18But besides that, I think the rest of the power play maybe
- 5:20gets worse because Brady is not there.
- 5:23But yeah, This is why we say have your matchups finals for
- 5:27your championship in Week 24. Because in Week 25, you know, a
- 5:31lot of these actual playoff races are getting, you know,
- 5:33done. And these teams that are just
- 5:34qualifying or already like secured the position a while
- 5:37ago, like they have no hesitation to bench these guys
- 5:40at the end of the season because why risk them getting hurt if
- 5:43they're already a little banged up or have already played like
- 5:45so many games? I feel like this team could go
- 5:47the distance in the. Playoffs.
- 5:48I mean, there could be so many people's favorite dark horse
- 5:51team to win at all I can see, but I I like I can see them
- 5:54getting first rounded or I can see them like making a run.
- 5:56You know what I mean? Really go either way.
- 5:58They have the first wild card spot.
- 5:59So yeah, I just, I mean, I don't think they're comfortable enough
- 6:05that like they're not gonna bring him back if healthy.
- 6:07But yeah, that's the but they're basically about the clinch.
- 6:10So it's really in the East. It's really just the second wild
- 6:13card spot that's still up for grabs.
- 6:14It's like the Habs, the Rangers, yeah, the Islanders, Columbus
- 6:17still find that so crazy. I know.
- 6:19Those are the two teams you're talking about.
- 6:23The House and the Rangers wild fighting for the last wild card
- 6:26spot everybody expected. That anyway, so you're not
- 6:29dropping to truck in any league format regardless, but at the
- 6:32end of the. Day, I mean, if he's, if he's
- 6:34missing week 25. Yeah, then of course.
- 6:38Yeah, yeah. But you know, he's probably not
- 6:41gonna be your eligible unless you have an IR plus in your
- 6:43league, which if you have obviously it's not even a
- 6:45question. But I mean, this is where you
- 6:48got to make calls like if Dylan Cousins on your waiver wire like
- 6:51and you're in the championship. I I would not, I would not, you
- 6:55know, say I can't cut vertical Chuck for doing cousins.
- 6:59Yeah, but Dylan should be picked up at this point.
- 7:01Yeah, absolutely. No matter what.
- 7:03Next, we got Alex Fratangelo day-to-day.
- 7:06Not too much fantasy relevance there.
- 7:08Thomas Hurdle, sticking with Vegas, is gonna be out at least
- 7:10another week, with William Carlson probably taking his spot
- 7:13on power play one for the duration of his absence.
- 7:17And yeah, Alias himself is also What did I do?
- 7:22I'm sorry, I'm sorry. That is that is the wrong call
- 7:24of literally today. Elias Samsonov is day-to-day, so
- 7:28we could expect Hill to get all the starts while he's gone.
- 7:31So that's a lot of Vegas right there.
- 7:34To me, the most relevant thing here is William Carlson taking
- 7:39Hurdle spot on power play one, because the power play 1 is
- 7:41awesome. So this would be a big
- 7:42opportunity for Carlson. I'm in Vegas has one of the, I
- 7:45think top three power plays in the league.
- 7:47So you want guys that are on that lineup.
- 7:50And I think Vegas, I, I don't know how threatened they feel
- 7:54like for their seeding because right now they've clinched a
- 7:58playoff spot already, which is great, which is like, OK, maybe
- 8:00they'll just start benching their guys.
- 8:02But LA is right behind them. They have five points behind
- 8:05them and there's eight games left in the season.
- 8:08So that's like three games different basically.
- 8:11So I don't know if Vegas feels comfortable, you know, maybe
- 8:14benching their guys for the remainder of the season if
- 8:17they're already banged up or if they're gonna really try to get
- 8:19some more games under the belt and win.
- 8:21Because you have to think about in Week 25, like you gotta think
- 8:24are my players get bench, try to get scratched, held out for
- 8:28whatever reasons. I think if Samsung has
- 8:32day-to-day, I expect Hill to get basically all the stars while
- 8:34he's gone. Not available in most of your
- 8:37leagues. But no, absolutely not.
- 8:39But just take Samsonov after the waivers as an option to stream.
- 8:44I do like picking up Carlson, though, for this.
- 8:47Yeah, this time for sure. If he stays on PP1, obviously
- 8:50keep track of that because I feel that's gonna be a fluid
- 8:52situation. Keep track of who's actually on
- 8:54there before you you make the pick up, but if he's on there
- 8:58like he's absolutely worth rostering.
- 8:59Yep, Charlie McAvoy practicing in a full contact jersey, but
- 9:04the coach says that there's no timeline for his return at this
- 9:08time. Mason Lori still has his power.
- 9:10Play one spot. Yeah, this one burns me because
- 9:12I mean I had McAvoy Jake yard trade.
- 9:14I have only one guy left from our trade on our on my on my
- 9:17team. OK, when you say it like that,
- 9:18it sounds so tragic. Who's the guy, Kevin?
- 9:21Nikita, there you go. Yeah, but I give you give you
- 9:25give you Daline and Timo. Yeah.
- 9:29Analyze Lindholm. Yeah, he has turned out to be.
- 9:32Not that. Yeah, it was, it was.
- 9:33It would. Have been valuable from the
- 9:34playoffs anyways, yeah, yeah, I don't expect Charlie McAvoy to
- 9:37come back. I mean, Boston is playing for
- 9:39absolutely nothing. Like why would they risk their
- 9:41franchise defensemen for nothing at this point?
- 9:44So maybe you can get some value out of Mason right as you still
- 9:47on the P1. So just keep an eye on for that.
- 9:50But besides that, nothing. I like to add to that because
- 9:53they're playing for nothing. Maybe Laura could be their
- 9:56offensive defenseman next year. It's probably gonna be McAvoy,
- 10:00safe to say, but nonetheless. It's gonna be Macavoy.
- 10:02Do you think so? I don't think he's like an IRL
- 10:06amazing defence, but he's not like a.
- 10:09He brings a different element to what they want to do.
- 10:11Listen, with the all season, anything can happen.
- 10:14Maybe they'll actually rework their power play and whatnot.
- 10:16It was really bad this year. Yeah, so we'll see.
- 10:19Listen, it's not out of the question.
- 10:20Obviously we've seen Macon get demoted before, but I wouldn't I
- 10:23wouldn't bet money on it. You.
- 10:25Know Laura is gonna be the guy. This year because also hampers
- 10:28Lindholm, who's usually a guy that they like there as well,
- 10:30and he's hurt so. He's been here for, like, most
- 10:32of the yeah, yeah. And they never should have gone
- 10:37out of Montgomery. So huge, huge mistake.
- 10:40Saying was gonna make the playoffs now.
- 10:41Crazy. I know, I know.
- 10:42With Monty, Yeah. Monty being Montgomery.
- 10:44Yeah. I don't know why I said it like
- 10:47that. On the move.
- 10:51And it's also leading the cabs in a player.
- 10:53Yeah. Actually, we made the playoffs.
- 10:55It's almost despite him because he's had like some really rough
- 10:58games lately. But then he's also had some
- 10:59really good games, so I don't know anyways.
- 11:01Ryan Leonard has signed an entry level contract with the Caps and
- 11:06is expected to join the team next game.
- 11:08He'll be starting on the A line with Stroman protest.
- 11:13He's expected to be a similar archetype to Tom Wilson, so it
- 11:16could be very valuable in bangers leagues.
- 11:17He also has a decent amount of offensive potential, as I
- 11:20understand it. So, you know, nevertheless, like
- 11:24if you could make an impact right away in a physical sense
- 11:26this year, that could be huge for their playoff run.
- 11:29So it seems like his value is mostly hits as of right now.
- 11:33Like he played 14 minutes in his first game, he had only three
- 11:36hits and nothing else. Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:39I, I don't not picking him up in any redraft league.
- 11:43Obviously there's a keyboard dynasty league is probably
- 11:45already on rosters, but. Actually I'm in a keeper league
- 11:50where he's still on waivers cuz I think he just got eligible.
- 11:55Eligible, meaning I would consider wavering him,
- 11:58especially if you're, you know, scouring for keeper.
- 12:00Options. I think it's tough, right?
- 12:02You don't know where he's going to be the next next year.
- 12:04So it's kind of like especially, you know, depends on the type of
- 12:08keeper league as well like some key really don't really keep
- 12:10prospects not as valuable as keeping like your studs that are
- 12:13yeah on your roster. I.
- 12:14Mean if you're like short for whatever reason, yeah, like it
- 12:16could be that you've mortgaged your future for the sake of like
- 12:20having a good season this year. So that happened to me last year
- 12:23and I came into my keeper league this year with decent non grade
- 12:26options. So like, let's say if I'm in the
- 12:30finals or just finishing with the semis and like I just got
- 12:33out, I'm looking for someone, he could be a really good option.
- 12:36But if you're you're in a week 25 championship, like I'm not,
- 12:39I'm not touching him. It's too risky.
- 12:41He can get scratched like at any point as well.
- 12:44He doesn't have the the foundation right now for being a
- 12:47guy that's gonna win your league.
- 12:48Like he has only potential. And I don't think you could risk
- 12:50one of your few ads in the championship week on a guy
- 12:53that's gonna be so volatile like that.
- 12:55Like you might only get you hits, literally no shots or
- 12:57nothing else. And you can't.
- 12:58That's not going to help you win a championship.
- 13:02How do you pronounce this? Jimmy Snuggerud.
- 13:07Sign and never had entry level contract with Saint Louis and
- 13:11the slotting line 3 power play 2.
- 13:13I'm kind of reiterating what I just said, Ryan Leonard, like he
- 13:17it's too risky in your championship week to waste one
- 13:19of your ads on a guy that you know is unproven.
- 13:21You don't know you're going to get from him.
- 13:23The deployment isn't necessarily a noteworthy either.
- 13:26So I would not risk a pick. But it's worth mentioning it for
- 13:29a really, really deep league that you know, has some crazy
- 13:32settings or whatnot. Like just be aware of it.
- 13:34And if you start getting hot, obviously then you keep an eye
- 13:36on him. But the Blues also only have it
- 13:37four games in the Championship Week 25 as well, right?
- 13:40So you don't really want to invest in that either?
- 13:43Yeah, that is correct. I.
- 13:46Four games is the lowest amount of games that a team has in Week
- 13:4920. 5:00 Not that this is necessary necessarily, like a
- 13:53decision that you're gonna have to make, but I would rather
- 13:56Leonard. Than him, at least you know he's
- 13:59on a better team. And they have, like, a window
- 14:01to, like, try to prep him for the playoffs more.
- 14:02Whereas like, if this guy's not producing right away, Jimmy,
- 14:06then they're probably just gonna move.
- 14:08And and if Washington starts mentioning some other guys that
- 14:10no ones are already like settled in the playoffs in Oviedo
- 14:13record, then yeah, maybe they'll he'll get more time, Yeah.
- 14:16So wow, entry level contracts are today's injuries.
- 14:20Actually, there's a lot going on.
- 14:22Gabriel Perot signed an entry level contract with the Rangers
- 14:25and should play next game. We don't expect them to have too
- 14:28much of an impact this year since the Rangers are fighting
- 14:31for a playoff spot. So that we're going to be
- 14:33playing their top guys mostly. So similar story with Saint
- 14:36Louis and Jimmy Snuggerud. Rob is going to start on power
- 14:39play too. Yeah, So just keep an eye on it
- 14:42like he should be on your watch list and see if he does anything
- 14:45noteworthy. If he gets bumped up the offer,
- 14:47then I'd be interested. But like like you said, he's not
- 14:51going to be fancy relevant, especially for your championship
- 14:53week. Yep.
- 14:55OK, Krill, the throw cap resolve and Joel Ericsson Ek are
- 14:59practicing with the team but are still labeled week to week.
- 15:04Yeah, they may just come back for one game out of nowhere in
- 15:07week 25. Kinda tough to predict.
- 15:09So I think out of this Ericson act, we've spoken about this,
- 15:13you could probably stay off your roster, but Kaprizov, you never
- 15:16know. The only way this is relevant is
- 15:18if these guys are on your IR and you can potentially plan to
- 15:21maybe activate them at some point when they're healthy.
- 15:23But if they're probably gonna, nobody's nobody's waiver wire
- 15:27because he's just ire eligible and first round pick, right?
- 15:31So he's probably on whoever's has him IR.
- 15:34Yeah, but Eric Seneca is still available.
- 15:36I just wait and see if he's activated.
- 15:39Then I'd pick him up for no matter how many games left there
- 15:42is if it makes sense for your championship.
- 15:44But besides that, this is not really too valuable.
- 15:46If you had these guys on your roster throughout the season,
- 15:49like you feel kind of awful because they probably missed so
- 15:51much time leading up to the playoffs and the playoffs.
- 15:53So that's real. That's honestly just real
- 15:55bummer. Yeah, and Minnesota has four
- 15:58games a week, 25. This is like a tough one,
- 16:01really. Stuart Skinner is out with a
- 16:04concussion, so Calvin Pickard is the starter.
- 16:07In the meantime, McDavid and Echo are still injured, but Dry
- 16:10Saddle is back, so Edmonton can at least win a few games.
- 16:13I mean, as we speak, I think McDavid is playing the next
- 16:15game, which is crazy. Yeah.
- 16:17Also this Stuart Kanner concussion just gave the team
- 16:22that I'm playing as in the finals, Calvin Pickard for free
- 16:25who was the the guy punted goalie the whole season just to
- 16:28get Monty on this Habs crazy run and Calvin Pickard for free off
- 16:31waivers after Stuart Kanner leaves concussion.
- 16:34So once again I get cooked against the guy that picked up
- 16:38the goalie off waivers. But yeah, I mean Picard is I
- 16:42feel like a must roster at this point if we know Stewart skin is
- 16:44gonna miss more time as we record this Skinner should miss
- 16:47at least another that was not English.
- 16:49You should miss at least another week.
- 16:52So keep an eye out. But I mean Picard has had some
- 16:55bad games and some good games in relief.
- 16:57So we'll just have to see. But getting McDavid back and
- 17:00Drysol already getting him back is just been a huge boost for
- 17:03Edmonton. Ready.
- 17:05I think they're they're slowly ramping up for the playoffs like
- 17:08they get, they give these guys a break and now they're just gonna
- 17:11finish strong and then go to the playoffs hungry.
- 17:13That's what I think. Do you think there's any chance
- 17:15Picard is the starter in the playoffs?
- 17:18If you finish the year strong, I don't I would not be shocked.
- 17:22Stewart definitely doesn't mean he he was one game away from
- 17:24being a Stanley Cup champion last year.
- 17:26But this year, I mean, he was definitely inconsistent.
- 17:29Picard was also inconsistent, though.
- 17:30Like they don't really have a nobody cementing himself either.
- 17:33So I think they go to scanner for sure, though.
- 17:35To start. Yeah, to start.
- 17:37I mean, you give it to your guy that's been the starter most of
- 17:38the year. And then but if he falters,
- 17:41like, they'll have no hesitation to just roll with the hand.
- 17:43Yeah. I guess the take away here is
- 17:46that Picard should be picked up for the remainder.
- 17:48Of the goalie, I think he's probably the best pick up.
- 17:49Like better than, like the Tristan Jarry is better than,
- 17:52you know, all these other names that are like fringe, 40% off
- 17:55guys like Lucas Dostall, like all these guys.
- 17:57Because obviously they still have a good team without
- 17:59McDavid. You don't have a Stanley Cup
- 18:00team without McDavid, but they could win you a lot of games and
- 18:03that's what you want for your from your goalies.
- 18:04Absolutely. So he should be rostered in the
- 18:06meantime, especially until Skinner gets back.
- 18:10Philadelphia fired toward Arella, and Michkov immediately
- 18:13went God Mode. Yeah.
- 18:15Shock sane scoring tear. He has 11 points in his last six
- 18:19games and he could be a really nice draft pick next year.
- 18:23Yep. I mean, if you saw Torrellas
- 18:27press conference, he was basically just kind of on the
- 18:30team a little bit being like, I don't think I can say that.
- 18:34No, you can't say that it's bleep worthy.
- 18:38Yes. Oh, OK.
- 18:41You do that. I didn't know that people say
- 18:44that when we're talking about actual feces.
- 18:47I guess I could say pieces. You could say feces anyways.
- 18:52You could say maybe this is a whole moot point conversation.
- 18:56Everyones gonna know what we're talking about.
- 18:58We're all bleeping feces. But like, so yeah, baby was
- 19:03feces in the whole team. Yeah, you're basically saying
- 19:05that like he didn't sign up for this, he signed up for a team
- 19:07that actually cares about winning and the performing and
- 19:09whatever. Yeah, I just think he does not
- 19:11mesh well with the team that's in that has young players that
- 19:15need to develop. I think you signed to relate to
- 19:17your team. If you're in shambles and you
- 19:20need somebody to ride the ship or you're a Stanley Cup
- 19:23contender and you need a guy to get you there, yeah, Those are
- 19:26the two types of teams that you sign toward rail for.
- 19:28Is this his coaching career done or do you think he gets another
- 19:31job somewhere? I wouldn't be surprised.
- 19:33He said some pretty mean things to Cam York, though.
- 19:36Like I saw. What did he like?
- 19:38If you resign here, I'm gonna bury you in the lineup.
- 19:40Oh my. God, I don't know if you like
- 19:42said in the lineup. I think it may have just been
- 19:43bury you, which could be believe that log reference.
- 19:48Yeah, no, I think you meant that he's like not gonna play him,
- 19:51which is horrible because he's supposed to be a really good
- 19:53player and he's young, so I look.
- 19:56He does not mesh with young players.
- 19:57I'm. Conflicted about this though
- 19:59because he want us to only cup with Tampa Bay when Tampa Bay
- 20:03had an amazing team. Then he went to Columbus and
- 20:06they were a mediocre team, but he did really good things with
- 20:09them. He was the coach when Corpus
- 20:11Ello had that crazy that crazy game versus right.
- 20:15So then there's, you know, he could do.
- 20:17Really good things, mediocre teams, which is nice to see.
- 20:20That being said, last year he almost brought Billy to the
- 20:23playoffs and they had no business.
- 20:25Being I mean they were they were solid, but then I feel like as
- 20:29soon as times got tough, they like crumbled, which is fine.
- 20:31They don't have like a star-studded roster either,
- 20:33right? Yeah, exactly.
- 20:34But at the end of the day, like the fact that they were even
- 20:37able to get there was such a bad team.
- 20:39I think it was impressive. So I don't know, to me, to me,
- 20:43you're you're you hit the nail on the head there and just said
- 20:45like he can't coach teams that are not good already.
- 20:50Like he would not be a good coach of let's say the Habs.
- 20:54Yeah, that's a good example. Yeah.
- 20:56The Canadians, he wouldn't he wouldn't have been really a good
- 20:58coach. I would even say was like Saint
- 20:59Louis, Saint Louis, you know what I mean?
- 21:01Like he needs to be on like a maybe, like he could go to like
- 21:05a New Jersey type thing. And I mean you not going to look
- 21:08for another. Code.
- 21:08I'm not even saying, I'm just saying A-Team like that.
- 21:11New York. Pittsburgh No.
- 21:13No, But New York? Why not New York people?
- 21:15Are. The Rangers.
- 21:17The Rangers, yeah. That could work because like
- 21:20he's done really well with good teams, but I don't know, it
- 21:22feels like he just. Some of the patients for
- 21:24Vancouver. So I think, I don't know if
- 21:27they're good. Enough.
- 21:28I think talking is probably out. Yeah.
- 21:30Nevertheless, like, I just don't know if Vancouver is a good
- 21:32enough team at this point. Anyways, I feel like, I don't
- 21:34think it's the end. I feel like he comes back only
- 21:36if he finds a team that really, really wants him, that he knows
- 21:38that he can make a run with. I don't think he's ready for
- 21:41another. I don't think he wants.
- 21:42He's like old. I think he's in his 60s.
- 21:44I don't think he wants to come back for another team.
- 21:46It's like, yeah, you know, bottom of the barrel, like write
- 21:48the ship type of vibe, you know? Yeah, exactly.
- 21:50And it's a shame, though, because Philly does have a
- 21:52bright. Future and I think all these
- 21:53Philly players will have way bigger bump in fantasy next year
- 21:58so keep an eye out for them. Yeah, for sure, Mitch Gov being
- 22:00number one, but even like a Drysdale.
- 22:02Connect me, you know. Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be
- 22:06exciting for them anyway. You're yeah, you're on to
- 22:10something with that, with Gorilla.
- 22:11Nonetheless, he's just the worst fantasy coach Josh has made like
- 22:15this. His saying pretty much, you
- 22:17know. I wonder who Josh hates more
- 22:20towards or Rod? I think after my trade with him,
- 22:23probably Rod. Yeah, probably at least like
- 22:28Rod, like you could tell is like a, I don't know, like a better,
- 22:31I don't want to say a better person.
- 22:34He wouldn't like bleep on his players the way he's, you know
- 22:37what? He backs his players up, yeah.
- 22:39Like he just puts them bottom in the lineup for Yeah.
- 22:41You think that's good? No exactly, but he does like his
- 22:45teams win. That's one thing about Rod and
- 22:48Tortorella tender miss. And when they don't, he just
- 22:50can't handle. It so.
- 22:51OK, Matthew Tachanka is traveling with the team but is
- 22:54only expected to return for the playoffs.
- 22:56If he does come back for the season, this is a stud first
- 22:59round pick. I think even going into next
- 23:01year he is with the injury history.
- 23:02Nevertheless, he should be rostered.
- 23:05Kevin and I are in a league together.
- 23:06Kevin just picked them up. Stash them on RR and unless
- 23:09you're like really really scared you're going to go over the move
- 23:13limit for whatever reason, do this pick.
- 23:15Up I mean, we picked them up because in our league it's not a
- 23:18we don't have a specific amount of ads for the week.
- 23:20It's like you have a specific amount of ads for the whole
- 23:23season. And with only one week left and
- 23:25we had so many ads left that it was just kind of like a flyer,
- 23:28just Adam on your IR. And if he comes back for a few
- 23:31games before the end of the season, then you'll be happy to
- 23:33have those. But but I'm not expecting him to
- 23:35come back there until the playoffs, but I wouldn't, I
- 23:37wouldn't be surprised if they're like, oh, let's just get him hot
- 23:39and ready, hot and ready. I feel like it's like a pizza
- 23:42roll or something before the playoffs so.
- 23:49Yeah, just, I don't know, to me, like, similar to Kaprizov, like
- 23:54if there is a chance that he even plays one game, he's gotta
- 23:56be picked up. Yeah, preemptively, though,
- 23:59risky. As long as it doesn't affect
- 24:01you. If you could just do it as
- 24:02quote, quote, UN quote a free ad, then yeah, you know, like I
- 24:07just OK, I'll say it. Gabriel Landeskog is practicing
- 24:11in full with a full contact jersey, but there's still no
- 24:15news about a potential return date.
- 24:18We think he may come back for the playoffs this year, but
- 24:20don't expect him to play in the regular season.
- 24:23Yeah, I think we've we've heard this game.
- 24:26That's why I'm like, I was like, I'm reading this.
- 24:28I'm just, you know. I think he's going to come back
- 24:30for the playoffs, which is already is a huge feat.
- 24:32Like, we didn't expect it at all, but we're seeing him.
- 24:34He just as of this morning contact.
- 24:37Yeah. So that's honestly big news.
- 24:39They have no reason to bring him back before, though.
- 24:41They'll probably ease him into the lineup as well.
- 24:43But this is honestly just I feel like the Colorado Avalanche are
- 24:45already one of the cup favorites, like top three.
- 24:47Yeah, if they get one, they talk back and he's like on their
- 24:49third line or I mean, he's gonna be in the top 6 for sure
- 24:51eventually, but just that's just a huge boost.
- 24:54Like the last time he played a game was instantly finals.
- 24:56So yeah. And they won.
- 24:57Yeah, and they won. So that just goes to show how
- 24:59long it's been since he hasn't played and also how impactful he
- 25:03is. I mean, he was the captain.
- 25:04How can you like do that though? You go straight into playoff
- 25:08hockey like. I mean, it's like you never
- 25:09left. Lottery numbers, Groundhog Day?
- 25:15Yeah, I don't know. I've been hearing this like
- 25:19Landeskog news forever. And.
- 25:20I've seen him like ramp up on the practice ice so.
- 25:24Yeah, I guess this year more than than previous year.
- 25:26So what's like your move with him?
- 25:28Like what do? You do.
- 25:29I'm not touching him in redraft. You don't stash him?
- 25:31No, not at all. OK.
- 25:32If you're in the lead up plays like in the playoffs, yeah, then
- 25:35I maybe stash them. I don't even know if it's like
- 25:37that out. There, this is like one of those
- 25:39things like the only the only relevance I could see with some
- 25:43sort of fantasy or picking or whatever.
- 25:44There are playoff fantasy leagues that do it like you
- 25:47draft players. No, it's a it's a like a draft
- 25:49for the playoffs. It's not like you take your team
- 25:51into the playoffs. No, exactly.
- 25:53Like if you're going big on Colorado, then take it with one
- 25:56of. Your last, but he'll go later.
- 25:57You can't expect much from him. He'll be like a flyer.
- 26:00Honestly, this is just more news that helps Colorado in their
- 26:03actual playoff. Yeah, more than anything fantasy
- 26:05related. Pretty much.
- 26:07But it would be fun. It would.
- 26:08I hope it does happen, but I mean, I wouldn't just talking to
- 26:12it anyways. Evander Kane is practicing in
- 26:15full contact, but we don't expect him to come back before
- 26:17the playoffs either. There's like no chance he does,
- 26:19right? I feel like an established
- 26:21already, yeah, they established that.
- 26:23I don't think it's coming, but I mean, I think he can be
- 26:25impactful for them in the playoffs.
- 26:27Element. Yeah, I I feel like that.
- 26:30That's why I. Just had surgery a couple months
- 26:33ago. Yeah, he played last year.
- 26:34Though yeah, he played. Like he was playing last year
- 26:36with latest cock. It feels like it's.
- 26:37Been fun. Yeah, he's a double double.
- 26:39He's just doesn't have the points sealing anymore because
- 26:41of where he is in the Edmonton lineup since they're just so
- 26:43stacked. Yeah, but for for bangers
- 26:46leagues, like he's always been a stud for playoffs leagues.
- 26:48I don't know if he'd be as valuable if it really is an
- 26:52emphasis on points, but because he's never gonna get that PPU
- 26:55one spot. So as long as he's not there,
- 26:56like his ceiling is probably line 3, he'll be good for shots
- 27:00and hits. And that's pretty much it.
- 27:01Yes, Yeah. And helps them in their actual
- 27:03playoff run too, because I mean, I've been on the Oilers to win
- 27:06it all. So, yeah, yeah.
- 27:08I. Think they were one game away
- 27:09last year. I think they're on a mission
- 27:11this year so that'd be fine unless they're getting really
- 27:13tanks. But if they get large
- 27:15goaltending like the Colorado one with Kemper, yeah.
- 27:18I mean, Kemper is an actual good goalie though.
- 27:19But. Two years ago, Florida went to
- 27:21the finals and lost, and then last year they won.
- 27:24So yeah, in that very modest sample size pattern.
- 27:28It happened last year. Yeah, this is, this is not
- 27:34actual advice to necessarily do that.
- 27:36But hey, I mean, there could be like a fun little trend, you
- 27:38know? So hopefully the Oilers beat the
- 27:40Habs in the finals and then 2026 is the year.
- 27:43Guy. Yeah, pretty much.
- 27:45Yeah, alright. Colton Perico is practicing
- 27:48again and could be back sometime next week.
- 27:50This to me is like realistic actual like this can help you in
- 27:54your in your lease here he's a. Blocks and shots, you know, star
- 27:59defenseman, like he gets over 2 roads over two blocks.
- 28:02He was like had his best points season of his career.
- 28:06Yeah, the only issue is for Week 25, they have only four games.
- 28:10You don't, you don't even know if he's going to come back for
- 28:13all four games as well. So I think he basically just
- 28:18becomes an available block streamer on your waivers when
- 28:22you're in the middle of your championship week in Week 25 and
- 28:25it makes sense for you. What are else?
- 28:27It probably sadly does not end up being relevant.
- 28:29Yeah, but nonetheless I would like if.
- 28:32My favorite Blues though, he's the best defenseman.
- 28:34Oh yeah, yeah, for the Blues IRL.
- 28:35This is massive for your fantasy, but I do think that he
- 28:39should be rostered just because he's had such a good year.
- 28:42Yeah, so if if you could like he him, I would stash right now.
- 28:46If you're in a bangers league, points for you, get it.
- 28:48If you're leader has blocks, he's he's absolutely worth
- 28:51rostering. If there's no blocks then I
- 28:53would not. He's not worth it.
- 28:56The best news? Yeah, you love this.
- 28:59Go. For Alex Ovechkin is three goals
- 29:02away from beating Gretzky's record.
- 29:04He has three games to do it and if he wants to beat it in less
- 29:07games, do we think he's going to get it in less games?
- 29:12I think he gets it in less games.
- 29:14Do you think so? Yeah.
- 29:15OK. So, so the only thing here is
- 29:19that he's currently like, as we're recording, he's playing
- 29:23one of those three games, three games.
- 29:25And he scored one goal. He scored one goal, so like he
- 29:28like we, we updated this this point after he scored the goal.
- 29:33We'll see how many scores today. Hopefully he beats it today
- 29:36because that would be great. But otherwise, the next game, if
- 29:41he doesn't score, he would have three goal 3, two games to
- 29:44score, three goals to get in that amount of time.
- 29:46But it's also Tyler. Three goals to beat.
- 29:48It three goes to beat it. He is two goals away from tying
- 29:51it right now, which is. I mean, that was so great, the
- 29:54record for getting the same amount of gold in less games.
- 29:58No ones like really talked about that, but I feel like that's.
- 30:00Worth, though that's worth talking.
- 30:01About because this is like. He's going to amount of goals
- 30:03and less 1 less game or something.
- 30:06Yeah, I mean, that would be cool.
- 30:07Yeah, just look. Because in the same amount of
- 30:10games he has more goals. To to be honest, like with this,
- 30:12like, OK, Gretzky was like an A league of his own.
- 30:14There's no one who was, ever. Gonna get it was very different
- 30:16time. Though that's what I'm saying.
- 30:18Like no matter what, this is more.
- 30:21Of all time. Yeah, this.
- 30:21Is more impressive objectively goal scoring wise than what
- 30:24Gretzky did. But if you can kind of just
- 30:27like, I don't know if you're like.
- 30:29Actually have like put it up for no debate.
- 30:31You know what? I.
- 30:31Mean 50 years from now, if you're looking back at those
- 30:34people aren't going to contextualize the times like as
- 30:36well, essentially. So at least you have the
- 30:38concrete numbers of more goals. Did it in less games.
- 30:41Yeah. Like we could live through that,
- 30:43you know, and frankly, even if that doesn't come.
- 30:45Through never see that again I think.
- 30:47He's obviously beating the record this year.
- 30:49Yeah. So yeah, I love it.
- 30:52Yeah. Just think it's so.
- 30:53Cool. I mean the fact that we started
- 30:54counting is gonna break the record this year.
- 30:56Now is like, is he gonna break the record in less games?
- 30:58You know what I mean? So it just goes to show like how
- 31:00timeless is scoring ability has been.
- 31:02So yeah, pick up. Yeah, but also just to mention,
- 31:09I mean we saw we saw some guys talking about this, but how one
- 31:13of the goalies that has never let all veterans score on him is
- 31:17Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders who played in the same
- 31:20division with Ovie, which is crazy.
- 31:22And one of the two next games that Ovi plays two break the
- 31:26record in less games is against the New York Islanders and Elias
- 31:28Sorokin. So wanted to be crazy if you
- 31:31know, OV scores his first goal against Elias Sorokin and his
- 31:34whole career and also like it helps him break the record
- 31:37versus Gretzky. So he's three goals away today,
- 31:40he's playing a game and then the next is Chicago and then the
- 31:44next one is the Islander. So there's a real chance he
- 31:47could maybe maybe break it versus the Islanders.
- 31:51So that would be really. Cool, that would be it.
- 31:53Wouldn't be at home though, would be away at the Islanders,
- 31:56which I guess some people be sad about, but who cares?
- 32:02Yeah, it's worth it nevertheless, you know, but he's
- 32:04breaking it. He has 123-4567 games left.
- 32:08Yeah, for just the next milestone would be Kenny hit
- 32:11900. He's at 892 goals now.
- 32:15I mean, he's playing next year for sure, right?
- 32:17Yeah, yeah. He has seven games, though.
- 32:20If he could get 900 goals this year, I mean, that'd be kind of.
- 32:23Cool, how many does he need, 7? He needs eight goals.
- 32:28I mean, it's not impossible. Yeah.
- 32:29So The thing is, if they're winning games, I'll feed him the
- 32:31Nets. That's it, yeah.
- 32:33That's why I, I was so, I mean, obviously like everyone's high
- 32:36on him, but that's why I was so particularly high on him.
- 32:38And like honestly, like since I said that like he's been like
- 32:42crazy because they cause this is what they're I don't know, this
- 32:45is like a different. Kind of built for him to be
- 32:46directed at this point. Yeah, exactly.
- 32:49And I actually think that they can be a force in the playoffs.
- 32:51People want the top seed. Like Yaroslav, Halak dismantled
- 32:55them. The first round again, yeah, but
- 32:58them. Like we were talking about this
- 33:00at the podcast at the hubs can be a real force this year in the
- 33:03playoffs, which I agree with. But I actually think Washington
- 33:06is really, really good this year.
- 33:07Like really, really good. Because we've spoken about this
- 33:11also. But Dubois and Chikurin, these
- 33:13are superstars that ended up not being good at all last year.
- 33:17So Washington got a tremendous discount and here they are
- 33:19performing well again, you know for sure.
- 33:21So we'll see what happens. But anyway, all exciting things
- 33:25out of Washington. I'm fine, it's just.
- 33:27Really cool, gonna be fun to watch.
- 33:28Very, very fun and I hope he beats it in less games.
- 33:31I really do. I'm curious if listeners, I
- 33:34would like you to kind of weigh in on this.
- 33:36Could comment on Spotify or on Apple podcast.
- 33:40Let us know what you think. Is it gonna be in less games?
- 33:42Yeah. I'm curious what everyone else.
- 33:44Thinks everybody hopes it is. Just be fun to watch.
- 33:47You're witnessing history. Yeah, that's true.
- 33:49That's true. Who doesn't want to witness
- 33:50history? Exactly.
- 33:53All right, so I'm going to start with the wood.
- 33:56I wouldn't do that dude, one times enough.
- 33:58Alright, Kevin, begin our would you rathers.
- 34:01Alright, this is the last would you rather for the fantasy
- 34:05season, because after this, no more weeks.
- 34:11How did Josh, like, misquote that one time?
- 34:13It's like don't, don't smile because it's over, cry because
- 34:18it. Happened or something wrong?
- 34:20Yeah, the opposite. That's funny.
- 34:24Yeah, if you were here, he'd be. He'd be laughing.
- 34:26Yeah, there you are. But he's too busy having a kid.
- 34:28Yeah, so these are going to be, I mean this is the hardest of
- 34:33the season because, you know, trying to make this relevant for
- 34:37week 25, but also you don't even know who's gonna be healthy and
- 34:39was going to get a play. Yeah, but alright, the first one
- 34:43I have is I think 2 of the hottest guys, not physically,
- 34:48but like in terms of their actual fantasy production, two
- 34:52of the hottest guys over the last two weeks.
- 34:55But it's who would have thought Taylor Hall and Jake's fantasy
- 34:59MVP Ryan Donato? Not physically.
- 35:06I mean, I don't know how hot they feel.
- 35:09Taylor Hall, I think, slid into Anna Kendrick's.
- 35:12DMS don't expose them like Dutch.
- 35:16The thing though, is. When was this?
- 35:19This was like, I don't know, like 7-8 years.
- 35:21Ago when she filmed Twilight or when she feel like Pitch
- 35:23Perfect. She was in twilight.
- 35:26What? What did she do in Twilight?
- 35:29She was the friend that wanted to date Edward Ohe.
- 35:32Yeah, wow. Right, we both look at can
- 35:37somebody factor? That was Anna Kendrick in
- 35:40Twilight. I mean, she absolutely wasn't
- 35:41Twilight. What do you mean?
- 35:42No, I believe you. I believe you, but I want our
- 35:44fact. Checker, I know my Twilight.
- 35:47Yeah, OK. She was.
- 35:49She wasn't. Anyways, so the more important
- 35:51question is, is Taylor Hall hot not going?
- 35:53OK, so I am checking this out now because immediately I would
- 35:59think Ryan Donato, but there's there's always, there's always a
- 36:02catch with you, Kevin, so. I think Tyler hold the catch,
- 36:07OK, And he's the one bitching because he's been on fire.
- 36:10Yeah. And on that power play that's
- 36:12been clicking finally, I think. I think Carolina has just
- 36:16finally come to terms with, like, being a solid team again.
- 36:19And I think Twitter Hall is like massively benefited from that.
- 36:23We scored a hat trick and then he hasn't stopped scoring since
- 36:26feels like. So it's interesting about this
- 36:27is that in the last 14 days average they both have 33.33
- 36:34assists per game. Donato has slightly more points,
- 36:37meaning those come from goals. Nevertheless, you know it's
- 36:41still early production from both of them.
- 36:43I'm probably gonna go with Denato only because I like his
- 36:48shot volume. I think it's a bit more
- 36:50consistent. I went to their hall because
- 36:53he's getting a lot of power play points and that's always more.
- 36:56Valuable. Yeah, it is That's true.
- 36:58This is very close though way, way, way closer than I thought
- 37:01it would be yeah, I'm going to stick with the NATO just because
- 37:04he's my he's my playoff MVP and I feel fantasy playoff MVP.
- 37:09I just, I don't know, I mean, like they're, they're both studs
- 37:12and honestly, Taylor Hall came became.
- 37:14Relatively everybody's, so many peoples like pick up the season
- 37:17type of thing. You know you're writing that.
- 37:19He was on waivers again. I dropped them sadly.
- 37:22You dumped him and Dustin Wolf. Crazy.
- 37:26I dropped I dropped the PNG so it's OK.
- 37:27That was different times though with Austin Wolf.
- 37:29But yeah, I I think it's very close.
- 37:32But I'm going to stick with the NATO just because I I think that
- 37:36I think that his you're saying because the power play points,
- 37:39I'm saying just because it's like a bit more Denato feels a
- 37:42bit more proven OK like this. Year Tyler has been nothing
- 37:46until like the last month or so. That's why.
- 37:48But I actually think they're both sick.
- 37:51Team he finally finds his way into like a lineup that he's
- 37:53been you know, he's been cemented in the lineup yeah,
- 37:55where he's playing he's playing on PC one and Carolina.
- 37:58And it is possible that, like, even though we're all low on Rod
- 38:01as a fantasy coach, it's possible that the whole rant and
- 38:04experience was very, very humbling, You know what I mean?
- 38:06It's like OK, like I gotta wake. Up and get messed up.
- 38:08Now people are calling for his. Head honestly though, like you
- 38:11know, it's like I just feel like this may have propelled hull
- 38:15ceiling. So anyway, both great options
- 38:17though, but I just. Alright, the next one is a guy
- 38:23that I do not want to talk about because I'm playing against him
- 38:25and he's doing all kinds of dirty things to me, but it is
- 38:28Boone Jenner or Valeri Nichushkin.
- 38:34Ah I feel like if you compared the stats it's like no question
- 38:37who you pick, but one got the pedigree, ones got the name
- 38:40value and the other one is recently unhurt.
- 38:43I think I'm still, I'm just gonna go with Boone here because
- 38:46you're right, like the recency is.
- 38:48No, Columbus is just too hot. Like it just makes no sense.
- 38:51Yeah, they don't have a chance at the playoffs, right?
- 38:53Like, I mean, they do they. Really.
- 38:54Still for the Second World Cup, they could do it.
- 38:56I mean, they're definitely behind the ranges in the Habs
- 38:59now because they went through a really tough spell.
- 39:02Yeah, no, I knew that they were in like.
- 39:04They just be natural, 84 and I played against Sean Monahan who
- 39:07scored four, four points against me.
- 39:09Yeah. So what I was gonna say is like,
- 39:11I feel like it's like a bit of like a long shot for them
- 39:15nevertheless, like I feel like they're still playing, like they
- 39:19have something to prove. Yeah, and there's still really
- 39:21trying to make the playoffs, no? That's true.
- 39:23I guess the second Wallace part, yeah, it's like they're right
- 39:25behind the Canadians. Yeah, OK.
- 39:27Yeah. So they're, they're, they're
- 39:29all. Systems.
- 39:30All systems. Go, I believe in them and more.
- 39:34So Boone Jenner is still only 37% roster and I feel like he
- 39:37needs to be added in like 40 more percent of leagues, Yes.
- 39:41Like if he's, if he's available in your league and you're in the
- 39:43championship or you're fighting, bring some prize money or
- 39:45something like he's one of the most AD players in my.
- 39:48Opinion. Yeah.
- 39:48Any banger league with. Face, especially bangers
- 39:50leagues. Even without face offs I think
- 39:52it's still really worthwhile. Yeah, I think you should be
- 39:54added in pretty much all league formats.
- 39:56But any bangers derivative of sorts?
- 40:00Easy centre left wing like. Absolutely.
- 40:03Yeah, that's crazy. If he's not.
- 40:04That's such a low roster percentage.
- 40:06And it's not like he's like a nothing player.
- 40:08I know he was injured, but people got to pay some degree of
- 40:10attention, even if you're like the only manager in your league
- 40:13who pays attention like he should on your team, like, you
- 40:16know what I mean? So.
- 40:18So yeah. OK, alright, next one.
- 40:22So we're going boom. You're.
- 40:23Going you're going boom. Cool.
- 40:24Alright, told you. These are probably gonna be a
- 40:26little bit more lopsided I would say, but I mean we disagreed on
- 40:30Taylor Holland Anado. I don't know.
- 40:32I, I feel like this next one that you're going to say pretty
- 40:35close actually. No, these aren't lopsided.
- 40:37I feel like these are fair. Alright, for Goldies, Calvin
- 40:39Pickard or Anthony Stolarz. OK, so Picard, you know he's
- 40:44gonna have starting until scanner comes back.
- 40:46Yeah, which may be right after your Week 25 championship or,
- 40:50you know, right right before it ends.
- 40:53Stellar is not getting all the games.
- 40:55Yeah. What do you think?
- 40:57Hmm. It's interesting, right?
- 40:59Because like Pickard, you can easily, easily pick up.
- 41:02So yeah, I think that like first thing to say, you should do
- 41:05that. Yeah, you need a goalie.
- 41:07Yeah, I mean, I'm going to go with Picard because, one, I feel
- 41:14like he wants to try to at least prove himself to show that, OK,
- 41:17you could rely on me in the playoffs.
- 41:19Yeah. And two, Stolarz may also start
- 41:22getting less and less games if Wall is going to be their guy in
- 41:24the playoffs because teams don't really like doing tandems in the
- 41:28playoffs. They like deciding on one
- 41:30goalie, you know what I mean? So if Skinner's already injured,
- 41:34maybe they're going to keep him out for a.
- 41:35Bit long, just a concussion, right?
- 41:36So it's not like he has like an actual injury injury.
- 41:39Yeah. Nevertheless, I would think that
- 41:41you'd want to make sure you're proven, quote UN quote guy is
- 41:45healthy. Yeah, but even you were saying
- 41:47that like you think Skinner is gonna be the guy, but I wouldn't
- 41:49be. Surprised, I think I'll just
- 41:50default to him probably and then if he falters then they'll go.
- 41:53They won't hesitate to go somewhere.
- 41:54Else so Picard has something to prove and I think Stolarz is
- 41:57gearing up for a backup role for the playoffs, meaning I wouldn't
- 42:00be surprised if Will gets a few more games.
- 42:02So I'm going to pick up as well. Yeah.
- 42:04All right, talking defenseman Jared Spurgeon or Jake Walman
- 42:10all. I don't even know what your
- 42:12initial instinct is, but Wallman obviously we talked about how
- 42:17his fantasy value got impacted after their trade where he has
- 42:19like obviously away lesser role in Edmonton than he did on San
- 42:22Jose, right. But Spurgeon has just been on a
- 42:24roll as well. Spurgeon only four games in week
- 42:2725. So you gotta think about that.
- 42:29And Wallman just, you know, with the decreased role, how valuable
- 42:32is he actually? Because he's still very valuable
- 42:33for blocks and shots. Yeah.
- 42:36But overall, you can't rely on this points as much and Spurgeon
- 42:39has just been on fire. So I feel this is a tough call.
- 42:41Yeah, it is a tough call. Well, why do you say person's
- 42:46been on fire for like the last 14 days?
- 42:49No, like the last month he's been pretty solid on the
- 42:51CarPlay. I was like, wait a second, am I
- 42:53looking at the wrong thing? Yeah, it's he has been very good
- 42:56at on the power play for sure. But I'm definitely gonna go warm
- 42:58in here because his shots blocks combo is awesome.
- 43:02And six game versus 4, this feels like it's one of those
- 43:06things where you know, you just want to get more games.
- 43:09Like it's not that they're irrelevant.
- 43:11They're both relevant defensemen who I think could be rostered,
- 43:14but they're not sure getting restorable guys.
- 43:16And even with the points discrepancy, which I think
- 43:20Spurgeon could get, let's say as many points as Wallman and those
- 43:23games, you'd rather. Get woman had been one for the
- 43:26points and Spurgeon, but I feel like no, that's the thing, like
- 43:30straight up, you know, if they had the same amount of games
- 43:32have been on Spurgeon. But yeah, I think I think I'm
- 43:36thinking woman just because of the the game discrepancy.
- 43:39That's why. But if you need specifically
- 43:40power play points, I mean I'm going Spurgeon for sure.
- 43:43Yeah, yeah, yeah, like it. So in a points league you're
- 43:46saying your ghost Persian? Yeah.
- 43:48OK, that's fair. That's fair.
- 43:50I, I think, I think I agree with that, but Bangor lease, Bangor
- 43:54manage. Right.
- 43:54Yeah. So I think, I think like
- 43:57generally speaking, Jake Walman is the better, safer bet with
- 44:00the more games. Last one, this was I feel like
- 44:04one of the best pickups of the playoffs, but it is Pew Suitor
- 44:07or Morgan Geeky who just does not quit, especially when I'm
- 44:13playing against him. I think pseudo was obviously
- 44:18everybody's replacement for realized Peterson like he was
- 44:21one of the most picked up players as soon as Pete went
- 44:23down. If you're short like leagues
- 44:26account shorthanded points as well.
- 44:27Like he's, he's been coming in clutch for that.
- 44:30He's just been really on the scoresheet a lot.
- 44:32But Morgan Yankee has as well. They're very kind of similar
- 44:36archetypes when you think about like where categories they touch
- 44:39and whatnot. Yeah, I'm probably, I'm torn
- 44:43here, honestly. Like this is to me.
- 44:45So 5050, like I actually just don't know.
- 44:48Who would you say I don't know? I I feel like I don't know many
- 44:51answers. Yeah, no, I.
- 44:53Actually don't know, like I have no idea.
- 44:55Like I guess I just pick geeky for longevity purposes.
- 45:00Like geek. He's been more of a sure thing
- 45:01this whole this whole year, you know what I mean?
- 45:04So there's that. And then the Canucks have five
- 45:09games and the Bruins have war games, so they're also, yeah.
- 45:13I'm going to queue sooner just because his role on that team
- 45:16right now is the 1C. So he's playing online one, he's
- 45:19playing on PC, one on PK 1. So he's very much like a very
- 45:24kind of like talismanic figure for them right now.
- 45:26What did? You say talismanic.
- 45:29Big word. With the team, do you think
- 45:35surprise, I know words? That's not what I'm saying.
- 45:39That's just that's, that's a big word.
- 45:41You're all talismanic relating to or the nature of a Talisman
- 45:47or talismans representing an inspiring a particular group.
- 45:50That's what you. Yeah, uh.
- 45:57Anyway, sorry. Yeah, so you're saying, you're
- 45:59saying? Peter, I think he's more
- 46:01important. I think it's more important to
- 46:02the Canucks right now than geeky is for the Bruins.
- 46:05All the Canuck, I think, are still trying to find a playoff
- 46:07spot. Yeah, I think they're gonna find
- 46:09it. But.
- 46:10Yeah, I mean, I don't know, I think so.
- 46:13The one less game definitely makes it harder, but I still
- 46:16think Geek he's just a bit more reliable.
- 46:18Because doing it for longer, but we've seen as soon as Suter got
- 46:21this deployment, he's been killing it.
- 46:23So as long as Pete is out, the last person, the forward, as
- 46:27long as he's out, I'm going computer.
- 46:29So keep an eye out. Yeah, I think I think a lot
- 46:31better may come back before the end of the season.
- 46:33So maybe, maybe if that worries you, go geeky.
- 46:36But yeah. Yeah, I guess.
- 46:37I mean, I could see like, Geeky getting three points in four
- 46:39games and then Suitor getting three points 3:00 to 4:00.
- 46:43So I guess just with that extra game, like it's a safer bet.
- 46:45I I just think Geeky Geeky's proven himself a bit more this
- 46:48year, so I'm just gonna go with him.
- 46:49But it's so close. Yeah, Like, yeah, we didn't.
- 46:53We didn't agree on all of them. No, we didn't.
- 46:55That was pretty good. But yeah.
