  Speaker 1: and go before the Father. Oh Heavenly Father. Thank you,

  Speaker 1: Father God, Oh Lord, for allowing us to open our

  Speaker 1: eyes yet again, Father God, for allowing us to start
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: our day. Father God, in your word, in your presence,
• 3:54
  Speaker 1: O God, thank you, Father God for your throne. Oh God,
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: it is a privilege that we can come be for
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: the throne of grace, So God, before the mercy, see Lord,
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: and received grace in an hour of need. Father, help
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: us to really understand what happened that day of Resurrectional God,

  Speaker 1: the death of burial and the resurrection. Lord, that you

  Speaker 1: paid the price the penalty for us, So God, so

  Speaker 1: that we may live and not die. O God, we

  Speaker 1: All right. Well, our last episode, we saw Jesus on
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: the cross. We saw that Jesus was innocent. Conscious pilot
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: knew that this was an innocent man. He found no
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: fault in him, nothing worthy of death. Right. But the Jews,
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: they said, according to their law, it needs to be
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: put to death because of blasphemy, and so Jesus said
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: that they had the greater sin. And also we saw
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: a barratus was released. He was a robber. This man
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: was guilty, a violent man, but he was allowed to
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: go free. How Jesus had to take the penalty. And
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: this is a perfect view of what he has done
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: for us. We are guilty, we are the barratus in
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: the story, all of us are. But Jesus was condemned
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: and he took our punishment. Hey, man, that needs to
• 5:50

  Speaker 1: A man, Jesus naw So. Now he's been in the grave,

  Speaker 1: has been three days. On the third day he rose again.

  Speaker 1: So let's take a look at the continuation of this story.

  Speaker 1: Because death was not the end for Christ, and death
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: will not be the end for us. Ay man, it

  Speaker 1: was the beginning, all right. So we're gonna jump in

  Speaker 1: verse one. We're gonna go from one to two. And
• 6:43
  Speaker 1: he says, now, the first day of the week, Mary
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: Magdalene went to the tomb early while it was still dark,
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: and saw that the stone had been taken away from
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: the tomb. And she ran in and came to Simon
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: Peter and to the other disciples whom Jesus loved, and
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: said to them, they have taken away the Lord out
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: of the tomb, and we do not know where they
• 7:16
  Speaker 1: have laid him a man. Now, notice now the first
• 7:23
  Speaker 1: day of the week. It marks the beginning of the
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: new creation. Now, I know some people get hung up
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: on what day we are to worship. We know that
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: the seventh Day of ventists at the seventh Day adventists.
• 7:39
  Speaker 1: If that's what seventh Day adventists, I think, I don't know,
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: I'm messing up the word. But we know that they
• 7:46
  Speaker 1: believe that it has to be Saturday on the Sabbath
• 7:52
  Speaker 1: as the day of worship. But here it speaks of
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: the first day of the week. This is the new beginning, right,

  Speaker 1: number eight is the number of new beginnings. And so
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: we worship him on Sunday, and we consider that the
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: resurrection day. But and nothing to divide over. We're not
• 8:20
  Speaker 1: gonna fight and argue every day it should be a
• 8:23
  Speaker 1: day of worship. Amen, every second should be a day
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: of worship. Hallelujah. Now, the grace of dawn, Mary in

  Speaker 1: love and in her devotion for the Lord came before

  Speaker 1: it was even sunrise. She got up early and her

  Speaker 1: devotion to him. Now that's a good example for us.

  Speaker 1: You need to get up early before the household wakes up,

  Speaker 1: before we have to start our day, our prayer. Life

  Speaker 1: should start our day every day, like we don't know

  Speaker 1: what tomorrow may bring, We don't know what we have

  Speaker 1: to face through the day. But when we start the

  Speaker 1: day with prayer, we're better equipped and we invite the

  Speaker 1: She found an empty tomb. Now, Mary came expecting to mourn.

  Speaker 1: She came to the tomb and she I wanted to

  Speaker 1: mourn and lament our Savior. Amen, but she found victory instead. Hallelujah.

  Speaker 1: That's a word for somebody today.

  Speaker 1: You might be walking into a situation expecting death, expecting

  Speaker 1: the worst, expecting to mourn, but God already moved the stone.

  Speaker 1: When God's done an amazing miracle, it can confuse even

  Speaker 1: our closest friends. This is nothing short of amazing, yo.

  Speaker 1: I mean, come on, the Bible said said he will

  Speaker 1: turn our morning into dancing. Sorrow may last for a night,

  Speaker 1: but joy comes in the morning. Hallelujah. All right, let's

  Speaker 1: go to verse three. We're gonna go all the way

  Speaker 1: to verse eight. Peter therefore went out and the other disciples,

  Speaker 1: and we're going to the tune. So they both ran together,

  Speaker 1: and the other disciple outran Peter. Now I think that's
• 11:37
  Speaker 1: pretty interesting. You know, this is John right, he outran
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: He was faster than Peter and came to the toune first.

  Speaker 1: I wonder if they're in heaven like racing right now.

  Speaker 1: And he stooping down and looking in, saw the linen
• 11:56
  Speaker 1: clothes lying there. Yet he did not go in. And
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: Simon Peter King following him and went into the tomb.
• 12:06
  Speaker 1: And he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: handkerchief that had been around his head not lying with
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: the linen cloth, but folded together in a place by itself,
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: and the other disciple who came to the tomb first
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: went in also, and he saw and believed, for as
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: yet they did not know the scripture that he must
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away
• 12:44
  Speaker 1: again to their own homes. Hey, man, this is good.
• 12:51
  Speaker 1: Let's break this down. Now, the linen cloth that was
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: left in place, provided that there was no death right.
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: The linen cloth that was left there, it proved that
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: no one stole the body, right, because it would have
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: been easy for the Sadducees and the Pharisees to accuse
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: the disciples of stealing the body of Christ to perpetrate
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: deception in the land. But the fact that the cloth
• 13:30
  Speaker 1: was still there, she bunks that Jesus passed right through
• 13:39
  Speaker 1: the grave. Clothes now, the knapkin folded separately signified completion,
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: like a master who's done with his work. Right. Let's
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: think of a master chef. I know my brother's own three.
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: That's one of the things that he likes to do
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: is he likes to cook. And I imagine you have

  Speaker 1: your apron or your jacket or whatever you wear when
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: you're in the kitchen and you're cooking, and you whip
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: up that masterpiece. I'm getting hungry as I talk right zone,

  Speaker 1: I still, man, I still haven't had any of your cooking. Man,

  Speaker 1: I need to come and taste some of your food. Brother. Anyway,

  Speaker 1: that's a side note, but I'm pretty sure once you're done,

  Speaker 1: you take your apron, you fold it up, you put
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: it away, or you hang it up on the wall.

  Speaker 1: You set it to a side to signify that it
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: is finished. All the seasoning, all the stirring, all the ingredients,
• 14:51
  Speaker 1: all the cutting, it's all done and is ready to
• 14:55
  Speaker 1: be prepared. And so the work that the Lord came
• 15:01
  Speaker 1: to doing this earth is completed. It's finished now. Notice
• 15:09
  Speaker 1: John saw and he believed sometimes seeing the evidence of
• 15:18
  Speaker 1: God's order and chaos builds our faith. Let me say
• 15:25
  Speaker 1: that again, seeing the evidence of God, God's order in
• 15:30
  Speaker 1: the midst of chaos, because this is a chaotic situation,
• 15:35
  Speaker 1: it helps with our faith. The folded napkin says, it's finished.
• 15:41
  Speaker 1: God doesn't leave loose ends at all. Hey, man, he
• 15:48
  Speaker 1: came to do a work, and he completed that work
• 15:54
  Speaker 1: that he came to do. Alright, eleventh through sixteen. But
• 16:00
  Speaker 1: Mary stood outside by the tomb, weeping, And as she wept,
• 16:06
  Speaker 1: she stooped down and looked into the tomb, and she
• 16:11
  Speaker 1: saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head
• 16:16
  Speaker 1: and the other at the feet where the body of
• 16:20
  Speaker 1: Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, a woman,
• 16:24
  Speaker 1: why are you weeping? She said to them because they
• 16:31
  Speaker 1: have taken away my lord, and I do not know
• 16:35
  Speaker 1: where they have laid him. Now, when she had said this,
• 16:41
  Speaker 1: she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, did not
• 16:46
  Speaker 1: know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, woman,
• 16:51
  Speaker 1: why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking? Jesus, supposing
• 16:59
  Speaker 1: him to be the gardener, said to him, sir, if
• 17:04
  Speaker 1: you have carried him away, tell me where you have
• 17:07
  Speaker 1: laid him, and I will take him away. And Jesus said, Mary,
• 17:15
  Speaker 1: now I want you to notice a couple of things here.

  Speaker 1: The angels referred to her as woman.
• 17:24
  Speaker 2: Right.

  Speaker 1: I just thought that was significant because this is a
• 17:29
  Speaker 1: different race of creation. They are angels, we are humans,
• 17:35
  Speaker 1: and they refer to her, and they asked the question
• 17:40
  Speaker 1: why are you weeping? And then when Jesus appeared to her,
• 17:45
  Speaker 1: when she didn't know it was the Lord, he repeats
• 17:49
  Speaker 1: the same statement, woman, why are you weeping? Look at
• 17:55
  Speaker 1: the unity and the oneness of Heaven is in harmony.

  Speaker 1: Their words agreed with the words of Jesus, and he added,
• 18:12
  Speaker 1: whom are you seeking? A man? I pray that we
• 18:20
  Speaker 1: will have unity down on this earth. Amen. Now Jesus
• 18:27
  Speaker 1: revealed himself first to Mary, showing his love for the
• 18:32
  Speaker 1: humble and the devoted. We need to keep a humble
• 18:37
  Speaker 1: posture before the Lord. We need to be able to
• 18:40
  Speaker 1: receive correction and instruction from the Word of God and
• 18:45
  Speaker 1: from the Holy Spirit. We need to be able to adjust,
• 18:50
  Speaker 1: because if we don't change our thinking, we're not going
• 18:52
  Speaker 1: to change our behavior. That's why we have to renew
• 18:55
  Speaker 1: our minds. That's why we have to meditate on the word.
• 18:58
  Speaker 1: That's why we have to memorize it quote speak it
• 19:01
  Speaker 1: out on a consistent basis. Heymen, we need to be
• 19:10
  Speaker 1: humbled and devoted. Now it's amazing right here. Let me
• 19:22
  Speaker 1: go back to the chapter right that she thought he
• 19:30
  Speaker 1: was and I'm right here in verse fifteen, Jesus, why
• 19:36
  Speaker 1: are you weeping? Who do you seek? She's supposing him
• 19:39
  Speaker 1: to be the gardener. She said to him, sir, if
• 19:42
  Speaker 1: you have carried him away, tell me where you have
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: laid him, and I will take him away.

  Speaker 3: I don't know.

  Speaker 1: In my mind, I picture her like putting her arms
• 19:55
  Speaker 1: around him and lifting him up and walking away with him.

  Speaker 1: And I imagine Jesus was a man, right, Jesus was
• 20:04
  Speaker 1: a muscular He probably would have been too heavy, but
• 20:10
  Speaker 1: she was willing her love and devotion for him. She
• 20:13
  Speaker 1: was willing to pick him up and carry him away.
• 20:17
  Speaker 1: Or maybe you know there was a cart nearby where
• 20:21
  Speaker 1: she could have placed him in a cart and wheeled
• 20:23
  Speaker 1: them off. Or maybe she would have went and got
• 20:26
  Speaker 1: help from the disciples to carry him away. But she
• 20:31
  Speaker 1: was willing to take care of him even in death.
• 20:36
  Speaker 1: And Jesus said to her Mary, and she turned and
• 20:40
  Speaker 1: said to him, rabbi, which is to say, teacher. Just
• 20:47
  Speaker 1: from one word, right, Jesus revealed himself first to Mary,
• 20:55
  Speaker 1: and her tears were turned into joy with only one word,
• 21:00
  Speaker 1: her name. He knows our names. He knows your name
• 21:04
  Speaker 1: as well. One word from Jesus can flip your whole
• 21:11
  Speaker 1: life around. Let me say that again, one word. All
• 21:16
  Speaker 1: it takes is one word from Jesus, and it can
• 21:20
  Speaker 1: flip your whole life around. What started in heartbreak became
• 21:27
  Speaker 1: a resurrection encounter. It started off in mourning, It started
• 21:34
  Speaker 1: off in heartbreak. She thought she was gonna go mourn
• 21:38
  Speaker 1: at this tomb, but it turned to be victorious. Stay
• 21:45
  Speaker 1: faithful even through your tears, beloved, because God is able
• 21:51
  Speaker 1: to resurrect anything. Resurrection is coming. Hallelujah. All right, let's

  Speaker 1: go to verse nineteen. Actually, hold on, we left off

  Speaker 1: from sixteen. Okay, so let's go to verse seventeen. Jesus

  Speaker 1: said to her, do not cling to me, for I
• 22:19
  Speaker 1: have not yet ascended to my father. But go to
• 22:25
  Speaker 1: my brother and say to them, I am ascending to
• 22:29
  Speaker 1: my father and your father, and to my God and
• 22:34
  Speaker 1: your God. Hallelujah. How would you love Jesus to say
• 22:39
  Speaker 1: that to you right now? My father is your father,
• 22:44
  Speaker 1: My God is your God. Hallelujah. And also when I
• 22:51
  Speaker 1: read that before, when Jesus says, don't cling to me,
• 22:58
  Speaker 1: I thought maybe she was hugging him around the neck,
• 23:01
  Speaker 1: or maybe physically clinging to him and not wanting to
• 23:05
  Speaker 1: let her let him go, which it could be that,
• 23:09
  Speaker 1: but now I think more so, don't cling to me,
• 23:12
  Speaker 1: as in you know how we can cling to a
• 23:15
  Speaker 1: person we don't want we need that person in our lives.
• 23:18
  Speaker 1: We don't want that person to go away, because he
• 23:21
  Speaker 1: says that I go to my Father, and so he
• 23:26
  Speaker 1: knew that he was sending the spirit. Like in this
• 23:30
  Speaker 1: form she cannot cling to him physically at the moment,
• 23:35
  Speaker 1: but later she would be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
• 23:41
  Speaker 1: So I don't know, just some food for thought. I'll
• 23:45
  Speaker 1: let you guys study that and go further in that.

  Speaker 1: But I thought that was pretty interesting. Then Mary Magdalene
• 23:54
  Speaker 1: came and told the disciples that she has seen the
• 23:58
  Speaker 1: Lord and that he had spoken these things to her.

  Speaker 1: Then the same day, at evening, being the first day
• 24:06
  Speaker 1: of the week. See there goes the first day again Sunday,

  Speaker 1: when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled
• 24:15
  Speaker 1: for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in
• 24:19
  Speaker 1: the midst and said to them, peace be with you.
• 24:26
  Speaker 1: When he said this, he showed them his hands in
• 24:31
  Speaker 1: his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw
• 24:37
  Speaker 1: the Lord. Hallelujah. I imagine, so we're going through fear,
• 24:44
  Speaker 1: we're going through sorrow in the morning. I can imagine
• 24:50
  Speaker 1: the relief that they experienced. So Jesus said to them again,
• 24:57
  Speaker 1: peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I
• 25:02
  Speaker 1: also send to you. And when he had said this,
• 25:08
  Speaker 1: he breathed on them and said to them received the
• 25:12
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. If you forgive sins of any, they are
• 25:18
  Speaker 1: forgiven them. If you retain the sins of any, they
• 25:23
  Speaker 1: are retained. Wow, he has giving them power. Hallelujah. Now
• 25:32
  Speaker 1: let's break this down real quick. Now, if you look
• 25:36
  Speaker 1: at the breeding, when Jesus breathed on the disciples, this
• 25:42
  Speaker 1: represented new creation or regeneration. Now, keep in mind there
• 25:48
  Speaker 1: are two separate experiences that we experience in the spiritual realm.
• 25:56
  Speaker 1: Before we get saved, the spirit man in us is dead,
• 26:02
  Speaker 1: but once we receive Christ, our spirit man comes back
• 26:06
  Speaker 1: to life. Then the second experience is the empowerment when
• 26:11
  Speaker 1: we are baptized with the Holy Spirit. So if you've
• 26:15
  Speaker 1: been saved, you need to take another step and ask
• 26:19
  Speaker 1: the Lord to baptize you and empower you with the
• 26:23
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. But in this situation, the spirit represents new life.
• 26:31
  Speaker 1: The spirit brings new life, just as God breathed into Adam.
• 26:39
  Speaker 1: It's the same thing. The resurrected Christ gives the Spirit
• 26:45
  Speaker 1: to empower his believers. Amen. That's how we get power
• 26:52
  Speaker 1: is through the spirit. And Jesus walks right through the
• 26:57
  Speaker 1: doors right No Burier can stop his presence. The same
• 27:04
  Speaker 1: spirit he breathed is still moving through us today. It's
• 27:08
  Speaker 1: still here, It's still in us. The Church is born here. Family,
• 27:15
  Speaker 1: we need to walk in the spirit, and we need
• 27:20
  Speaker 1: to build a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah a man.

  Speaker 1: All right, let's go to verse twenty four. We'll take
• 27:43
  Speaker 1: it through twenty nine. Now, Thomas called the twain, one
