  [SPEAKER_00]: had the press conference earlier, just got back from that, got back from the Miller Electric Center, where we heard from Liam Cohen, Trevor Lawrence, Josh Hines Allen, three of the biggest figures in the Jacksonville Jaguar's current build.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what you've heard as a throughline.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Every time you've heard Liam Cohen talk about this off season, since the Jack Wars lost to the bills in Buffalo, it's attacking the edge, no comfortability, no complacency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What is that little thing that you can do individually, that your unit can do?

  [SPEAKER_00]: from a practice standpoint, needing standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What is it that you can do to give you yourself and your unit the edge that you need to be successful?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you could sit here and say, well, every coach is coming up with something like this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, when Liam Cohen talks about it, it works.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like when Liam Cohen has used different motivational tactics

  [SPEAKER_00]: in Jacksonville and throughout his career, he is good at drawing out the best in his players and his coaching staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They do the three better best thing where they try to come up with things that they're doing well that they need to get better at, that they want to be the best at, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, they have a lot of different ways to motivate, but one of the big things is,

  [SPEAKER_00]: from the top down, knowing that being at one year wonder is not enough, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can't get comfortable with what you did last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're zero and zero, everyone is zero and zero.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so I strongly believe that this mindset is something that's been missing in Jacksonville going into year two's before.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we have seen previous regimes get comfortable, get complacent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are not going to do that under Liam Cohen at head coach James Gladstone as your GM Tony Bicelli as your EVP.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's going to happen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Tony Bicelli has been here as a player when the Jaguars were not able to get comfortable because their coach would not let them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Tom Coffland would not let you get comfortable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to work.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was a different time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Different game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Different world we were in, but you're going to work your butt off.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to hate it sometimes, but you're going to work your butt off.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that was going to make you better in the late 90s.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jack Wars were stacking successful seasons.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Being a really good team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Since then.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've basically all been one hit wonders.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Jack Del Rio had a short period of somewhat sustained success, but even then it wasn't urine and urine out where they were very good.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was like there was some highs and lows, some ebs and flows during that time period and it ultimately crashed and burned and since then, I mean, there's really been no consistency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Doug Peterson year got started well, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You had a slow start to the first season, but then they finished with the unbelievable run, reminiscing to what we saw this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then it crashed and burned in year two.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think after there was a little bit of complacency compatibility, all that injury is obviously as well didn't help, but I don't think that they were attacking the edge as Liam Cohen has put it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think beyond the mentality of attacking the edge and making sure you're not a one-hit wonder, like some more tangible things, Liam Cohen wants to improve with the offense specifically, because I wouldn't say that Anthony Campanile is the head coach of the defense, but he runs the show on that side of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You maybe could say he's the head coach of the defense, but I think Liam has a little bit to it involved over there, like more than Doug Peterson was,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Liam's focus is obviously more so on making sure the offensive side of the ball is where it needs to be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to improve the screen game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: in a big way and we've talked about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The screen game for Liam Cohen, it's something he's passionate about, not just because he thinks it's very effective, but he talked about it today also, you know, it's just kind of like it should be like an easy routine play for the quarterback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It should be kind of a breather type of play for the quarterback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Offensive line knows exactly what their assignments are, get out on the move, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to improve that screen game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: wants to improve third and fourth down on offense and defense, but specifically on offense for him, they're actually pairing some things back in the playbook right now with the screen game and elsewhere focusing on things that they believe are worth focusing on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: in the passing game and in the running game, getting rid of some of the stuff that doesn't make sense for their current group right now, things that aren't going to work, they don't think have a good chance of working, things that weren't working when they went back and did their their self-scout.

  [SPEAKER_00]: One thing that they are working on is kind of the snap cadence, not just getting the ball off quicker, but manipulating the defense with your, you know, as soon as you break the

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are you running it down, having the cans and having the ability to adjust plays of the line?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are you trying to get them to jump off sides?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are you trying to just get the ball off as quickly as possible?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are you trying to utilize motion to get the defense?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So just like the pre-snap in general, I think they're still going to be trying to evolve that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It definitely got better down the stretch last year and a big way and the offense got better as a whole in a big way down the stretch last year, but that's something that Liam Cohen is definitely working to improve from a, you know, pre snap.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Pre-snap, I think is something they're definitely looking for.

  [SPEAKER_00]: fantasy so getting into more of these takeaways from this press conference which I thought it was really good and I just I highly encourage if you're a big jacksman go watch the whole thing but this is just my takeaways and what I think is really important from it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trevor talked about I asked him like you know what is your goal for for yourself this off season obviously last year Trevor Lawrence was coming off injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was trying to learn entirely new system, trying to learn entirely new coaching staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This year, the goal is consistency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They started out a little slow last year on the offensive side of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There was highs and lows, but they really got at home in past game-wise down the stretch over the back half of the season, and so his goal is consistency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He talked about little things with the footwork and the mechanics, and obviously the pocket feel and moving in the pocket the way he needs to, and consistently feeling the pressure wants to continue to improve in those ways, but really just being consistent, establishing

  [SPEAKER_00]: the consistency with yourself day-to-day, but then the chemistry with your teammates as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he hasn't had an off-season which a Kobe Myers yet.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you're not gonna have a full off-season with Travis Hunter, which is another takeaway.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to be full until training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's the current goal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have Jordan Lewis, who's probably, he's dealing with the foot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: injury and he's not going to be full until training camp either and then same thing with Coldman land and it looks like those guys will be working, they won't be competitive in terms of out there with the team doing competitive work until probably end of some training camp time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that is one thing to keep in mind, but Trevor's goal is really just consistency, day to day, game to game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to stack a whole season where it looks like the back half

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what he wants to be able to do for himself and for this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's pretty exciting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hines Allen, as I mentioned, he spoke with the media too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So talked about Trablem Walker, fired up, very fired up for Trablem getting that extension.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he knows that it's not going to change his approach, his intensity, what he brings to the field and to the team, because that's.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you've been paying attention to Trayvon Walker, like Josh Hines Allen has in people that have been highly following the Jaguars for the last several years, Trayvon is the consummate professional hard worker team guy, so I'm totally with Josh Hines Allen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would not expect a fall off of any sort for Trayvon Walker now that he got paid.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I would expect him to be a lot better in 2026, just because he's entering things

  [SPEAKER_00]: a broken hand.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's not dealing with the lower body injury that he was dealing with last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, um, called Trayvon, his road dog, absolutely loves Trayvon.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I asked Josh Hind down, what's the goal?

  [SPEAKER_00]: The run, the run defense last year, first in the league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What is the next step for the defensive front for the jack wars in 2026?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he said, leave the league in sex.

  [SPEAKER_00]: lead the league in sex.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's the goal for the unit up front, defensive front for the jacks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's to lead the league in sacks and they were not close to doing that last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see if they can do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they have a lot of the pieces in place to be able to be a top team in terms of getting sacks, Josh Heinz Allen, Trayman Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Eric Armstrong's deck can compete in that way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about Rooka Roro as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think if they're going to get there, they got to add in the drafts, though, I do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And talked about Danny Strigo and B.J.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Green, those two guys are continuing to attack and he's excited about them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that'll be fun for sure to keep on watching those young guys that were undrafted for agents work and grow what they did as undrafted for agents last year, I think was really impressive.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I mentioned Ruka Roro Roro is in the building, this is a guy who,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hind Allen didn't know this, but he had a relationship with Rook.

  [SPEAKER_00]: visiting Clemson on a recruiting trip at our visiting gluten.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Visiting Kentucky on a recruiting trip where Josh Hines Allen met him and they've kind of stayed in contact through the years talked to him pre-draft and they've trained out in Arizona so he saw him out there as well very recently before he even learned about him getting traded to the Jag Wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's somebody he does have a relationship with and he knows his mindset and he knows what he's getting there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and he thinks that Rook is going to absolutely be one of those guys they can rely on up front that they're excited about and Trevor Lawrence obviously knows Rook.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They were teammates at Clemsham for a couple years so he's excited to have another Clemsham guy to talk about how it's pretty weird not having Travis ETN in the building right now but having haven't Rook there is another Clemsham guy that gets to come back and work with them obviously different

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jags felt like they had a chance and they said nothing against Mason Smith.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They thought he did everything they had.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Asked of him and attacked things the right way, but they believed they had the opportunity to go get an ascending player and someone who can really bring.

  [SPEAKER_00]: an addition to the rush without having a fall off in the run defense department and somebody who quite frankly you just don't find a lot of players that move the way Rook Aurora is able to move athletically while being extremely strong on the interior of the defensive line they were excited about the opportunity to add him to the mix.

  [SPEAKER_00]: but Rook Aurora is in the building.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're excited to have him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think based on the tape last year, you could see a lot of that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see what he can do here in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't stop me from adding to the defensive furnace we talked about earlier, but yeah, gonna be fascinating to watch that unfold.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar Strength Coach, Eric Cihanna, who came over last year from Buffalo, he instituted the Iron Jaguar Challenge, which is basically an Olympic style event where you get broken up into teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and you compete from a strength and conditioning standpoint throughout the offseason program.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jags, Lee, I'm talked about this last year, you're not allowed to be really competitive on the practice field in the offseason program.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can compete in proving in that regard and it's not just the weight room, but strength and conditioning.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that'll be a good, I think that we'll definitely be able to check out
