  [SPEAKER_00]: Right now, we're taking a look at five Jaguar players to watch, and their preseason opener tomorrow night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, former division rivals at FC Central.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I hasn't completely died, but it's certainly on the back burner at this point, but five Jaguars to watch when the team hosts the Steelers tomorrow night.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The preseason football is finally here because that means regular season football is finally here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I love watching all these young guys trying to compete to make their roster, but the five players I have to watch are not really

  [SPEAKER_00]: These are five players that are going to be on the team and that could have two of them have for sure very important roles for the Jaguars right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do have Trevor Lawrence at number five.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The reason I want to see Trevor Lawrence so much in this game, I mean he is playing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar starters are playing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is going to play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's exciting just to be able to see your franchise quarterback play football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But what I want to see from Trevor Lawrence is how he performs against a defense that he hasn't been practicing against for the last

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, two weeks straight, but really, you know, all off season at times, he's been practicing against this defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then into training camp, obviously, how does he handle the connection with his receivers, the reads at the line of scrimmage, the cans or kills, as a lot of people would understand them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the ability to change the place of the ice cream, it's the new footwork, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, the left foot forward and shot gun.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's supposed to help him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: His new footwork when it comes to progressing through reads and having your base set up for you to succeed and be able to release a football, no matter what the situation is, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: All these different little things for Trevor Lawrence.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the connection with his receivers, how does that look?

  [SPEAKER_00]: against a defense that has not his own.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because honestly, it's looked really good against Jags defense and the Jags have some good corners.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jags starting defense should be putting up more of a fight against Trevor Lawrence and his guys than these Steelers backup defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We're still some talented guys for the Steelers backup defense, but they're not playing most of their starters.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about that before.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be

  [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say a skeleton crew, but it's going to be primarily backups for the Steelers and this one on the defensive and offensive side of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, their offensive line is going to have some more guys because they have some young guys up there, but their secondary is almost all veterans and almost all of them are going to be sitting out in this game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Trevor Lawrence and the Jack Wars passing game

  [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, it's just one drive, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: One drive.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's clean.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't see a lot of penalties.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't see mental mistakes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You see confidence.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You see getting their ball out quickly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You see being able to make those checks at the line, the communication, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what you want to see kind of the lot of folks would call like Manusho or who cares or whatever, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: Those are the things that are going to allow Trevor Lawrence to ascend in this offense quickly, being able to understand all the different little things that go into playing quarterback at the NFL level, being able to take that from the classroom, to the practice field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And now to the game field against a different opponent, albeit in a game where you're not going to see a lot of disguised coverages or crazy looks or anything.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's preseason, but still.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It is different than going against your own teammates.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, excited to see Trevor Lawrence out there for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he has to go out there and perform in a high level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it doesn't really matter, but it would be encouraging to see it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It would be a nice development for the fans to be able to see that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, Optimus would be like, yeah, Trevor Lawrence, you look the way you want him to look and pessimus would say, show me in the regular season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, in the end, it really doesn't matter, but I am excited to see how he looks tomorrow night.

  [SPEAKER_00]: At number four, I have a rookie, linebacker, Jack Kaiser.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be watching a lot of Jack Kaiser here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he's not somebody who necessarily is going to be important for the Jaguar's defense in twenty twenty five.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he could be asked to start in twenty twenty six or task with competing for the starting role.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Devin Lloyd, contractier, Chad Muma, contractier.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have ventral Miller, certainly, foil Oaken.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Probably not going anywhere after the twenty twenty five season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You never know what those veterans that get paid a good bet it's a linebacker position though, but I would advise them to keep FOIA around.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But at minimum, there's going to be one starting spot up for grabs and all likelihood unless the Jag war is break the bank for an off-ball linebacker, Devon Lloyd.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, probably going to be some change there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And after Jack Kaiser with a fourth round pick, he is smart, he's a good tackler, great special teams player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he has good instincts in coverage and against the run, not the biggest, not the strongest, not the fastest, but how does he perform in this type of environment?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be really fascinating to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And number three, another player who a lot of folks thought probably was going to start.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why am I alone?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, after he was drafted, all I heard was a left guard spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's probably his.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I was always kind of saying, and we'll see, you know, as we're Cleveland's not going to go down without a fight, and so far it looks like as you're Cleveland is the Jaguar starting left guard, but why am I?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to have some opportunities here during the preseason and the rest of practice before the season starts to, you know, try to take what he thinks should be his, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a third round pick, eighty eight overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's traded bat or eighty nine overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's traded back up to be able to land him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They wanted Ransal and Milo.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they wanted.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They had pick eighty eight.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They traded back up to eighty nine and they took those two guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter what order they took them in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They were going to take them both regardless.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so this is guy that Jack's really wanted, prioritized.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, can he show you?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's going to be fascinating to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: At number two, out of the rookies, we have talked about so far.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he has the most opportunity to potentially have a big impact

  [SPEAKER_00]: for the jacks early, basaltoon.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this guy is so many of his traits and his running style, should project to the NFL level, should project to Liam Cohen's offense, and Liam Cohen should understand how to utilize him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is squatting, extremely low to the ground.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has more power than you would expect, he's not a power back, he's not more he's Jones Drew, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But more power than he would expect.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's about two, ten, about five, eight, five, nine.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He runs like the wind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's unbelievably explosive, unbelievably fast.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he hits the third level, and no one is touching him, he's probably gone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he hits the second level, and no one's touching him, it's probably going to be a very big game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you need to see it from facial toton.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ball security.

  [SPEAKER_00]: pass protection, and look, you don't have to be a great pass protecting back to thrive in a limb going off.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We've seen that book, Irving, was barely possible in pass protection last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They had her shot wide on the field and pass protection a lot more.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, you could still have Irving out there in pass pro at times and passing situations and throw them the football and have them chip and do it in, you know,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Every once in a while have him in a situation where he straight up has to be a quarterback's protector.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If Bacial Tutan can do those things, skies the limit, and the Jaguars have five backs right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It would not be shocking to see them move one for the regular season, just because they are all performing well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Would James Gladstone potentially say, look, we got a lot of good backs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These guys are playing well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We can move one of them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We can get some value for our draft years moving forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And we can still have just as good of a back feel right now, because we're not keeping all five.

  [SPEAKER_00]: To go into Jackson's undrafted free agent, he's playing well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Or we happy to have him on the team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that's another point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like to go into Jackson is someone to watch because if he performs, that's another potential domino that could impact the running back room.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just excited to see Bachelton know in general, just because he's a fun player to watch play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's really electric with the ball in his hands.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he's got some creative creativity as a runner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, can make you miss some tackles.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, when you look at his miss tackles forced and his explosive play rate, it's up there with anybody.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a hell of a runner to watch, so excited for Bachelton.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And even if he's not a feature back for the Jaguar as this year, I mean, Travis E. T.N.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So very easily, Basel Tutan could be Jaguar's RB one or RB two and twenty twenty six.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Could happen this year if they decide to move on from someone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter comes in at number one, obviously, as if anybody questioned that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter playing both sides of the ball tomorrow.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be, you know, who knows how many plays, how many drives he gets on either side.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure, but I'm excited to see it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I will be very excited to see him on offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be a little bit more nervous about him on defense just because I feel like with his emphasis on the offense aside of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and his natural skill catching the ball and running routes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like he's going to be in a decent situation to look successful pretty much every time he goes out there defensively.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you're focusing so much on offense, when you haven't been with the defense as much on the field, you know, I just want him to be able to show his worth because I know that he's going to be a big time player for the Jacksonville Jaguars for a very long time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's Travis frickin' hunter and black and teal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Planning against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And defensively, you know, he could get mashed up with a Roman Wilson.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Probably not going to be anybody too electric out there and no DK Matt Caffs, certainly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He should be in a good spot to have success offensively.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jalen Ramsey's out, Joey Porter Jr's out, Sean Elliott's out, Corey Trice's out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have another corner that's not planned to, so he should be able to get his a little bit on the offensive side of the ball.
