- 0:08Speaker 2: Chef m Toby and Chili in the Morning. Good morning,
- 0:11Speaker 2: and welcome to a brand new day. So why are
- 0:14Speaker 2: you feeling good this morning?
- 0:16Speaker 3: I am feeling good this morning because at fifty three
- 0:19Speaker 3: I finally figured out how to use a curling iron. Random,
- 0:29Speaker 3: I know, I know, I need to explain. So I
- 0:33Speaker 3: have very naturally curly curly hair. In the last year
- 0:37Speaker 3: or so, I've been giving myself blowouts, and I decided
- 0:42Speaker 3: to buy a curling iron to give myself kind of
- 0:45Speaker 3: like those beechy waves instead of the coyly curly curls
- 0:50Speaker 3: that I normally have, Toby, and I'm getting the hang
- 0:53Speaker 3: of it, and for that reason, I'm really excited. Tell
- 0:55Speaker 3: me my hair doesn't look good today?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Come on now, it looks very easy.
- 0:59Speaker 3: See the creature.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I see beachy waves.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Thank you. That was the goal. And I beachy out waves,
- 1:06Speaker 3: which I like these beachy waves more than I like mic.
- 1:09Speaker 2: The natural curls. I know, Okay, it is the little
- 1:12Speaker 2: things like it is. It is fifty three years to
- 1:16Speaker 2: learn well you know. I mean, I can't hold a
- 1:18Speaker 2: candle to compare to that great feeling. I'm just happy
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's Wednesday. We're halfway through another week. Yes, I'd like
- 1:25Speaker 2: to say something about hair, but I don't have any
- 1:27Speaker 2: answers to shave it. But hey, if the curling iron
- 1:31Speaker 2: is bringing you joy, who are we to steal your sunshine?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Why you're feeling good today? Eight six six nineteen seven
- 1:38Speaker 2: forty three sixty one is the number. You can also
- 1:40Speaker 2: tap the talk back microphone. If there's something bringing you
- 1:45Speaker 2: joy today, tell us what it is. Because joy is contagious,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and that's a good kind of contagious, So spread it
- 1:51Speaker 2: and let's all live vicariously through the joy that you bring.

- 2:38Speaker 3: for office again or challenge Governor Wesmore in this year's
- 2:42Speaker 3: gubernatorial race. The announcement ends months of speculation about a
- 2:47Speaker 3: possible political comeback. Hundreds of students at Walt Whitman High
- 2:51Speaker 3: School in Bethesda walked out of class to protest recent
- 2:55Speaker 3: immigration enforcement actions and demand that Montgomery County schools adopt
- 3:00Speaker 3: up to policy barring cooperation with ICE and also provide
- 3:04Speaker 3: more education on civil liberties. Metro says that an overheated
- 3:09Speaker 3: brake pad caused smoke to roll through McPherson's Square station yesterday.
- 3:13Speaker 3: The trains were told to bypass after smoke created hazy conditions.
- 3:17Speaker 3: The effected trains were taken out of service, causing delays

- 3:54Speaker 2: And that's the news on this Wednesday morning with Toby
- 3:57Speaker 2: and Chile in the morning, you getta have stories at
- 3:59Speaker 2: top for the hour and coming up in just a
- 4:01Speaker 2: few minutes, we're gonna pause and talk about you and
- 4:04Speaker 2: your morning mindset. We found some words that we think
- 4:07Speaker 2: might resonate with you. You'll hear them and if you
- 4:09Speaker 2: need a mental pick me up, you'll get it in
- 4:12Speaker 2: just minutes. Right here, stay closed. If you need a
- 4:16Speaker 2: little inspiration for this Wednesday, you've come to the right place.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Tillby and Chilly in the morning, It's ninety seven point
- 4:21Speaker 2: one watch FM and it's time for your morning mindset.
- 4:24Speaker 3: This is where we share a quote for you to
- 4:25Speaker 3: think about, maybe to help you get into a better
- 4:28Speaker 3: headspace as you take on the rest of the day.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Stephen Pressfield says. Fear is loud, truth is quiet. Listen better.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Fear is loud, truth is quiet. Listen better, says Stephen Pressfield.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The inner critic isn't truth, it's resistance. So tune into
- 4:48Speaker 2: your quiet strength and there you will find what you
- 4:51Speaker 2: need to get through really anything. Fear is loud, Truth
- 4:56Speaker 2: is quiet, Listen better. That's your morning mindset for this Wednesday.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Need it? Find it on Insta, Find it on the
- 5:02Speaker 2: Toby and chilipage at washfm dot com. And that's also
- 5:05Speaker 2: where you can go to share with us some words
- 5:07Speaker 2: that have inspired or motivated you. Maybe something inspired or
- 5:10Speaker 2: motivated a friend would love to hear it and stay
- 5:13Speaker 2: right there because coming up next with Toby and Chilly
- 5:16Speaker 2: in the Morning yesterday on.
- 5:17Speaker 3: The show, we were talking about when you get medical
- 5:20Speaker 3: test results, are you the type of person that peaks
- 5:22Speaker 3: right away or do you wait for the doctor to
- 5:25Speaker 3: go over the numbers with you? And we have somebody
- 5:29Speaker 3: who wanted to jump in and share his thoughts coming
- 5:33Speaker 3: up in just a few minutes.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Are you a peaker? You know, when you get like
- 5:38Speaker 2: a blood test or some kind of medical test results,
- 5:40Speaker 2: do you peek at it, look at it, try to
- 5:42Speaker 2: figure out what it means before you go see the doctor.
- 5:45Speaker 2: We were talking about this yesterday with Toby and Chilly
- 5:48Speaker 2: in the Morning here on ninety seven point one WASHFM,
- 5:50Speaker 2: and we found that both Chili and I do peak.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yes, there are some advantages to it, but we are
- 5:56Speaker 3: clearly not the only ones.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Toby, Rob and Bethesda, good morning. You're a peaker, hey, guys.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Oh absolutely, really Okay, so tell us the benefits of
- 6:06Speaker 3: doing so, because it could cause some sort of anxiety
- 6:08Speaker 3: if you see something suspicious.
- 6:10Speaker 5: So I mean, I set it up where I get
- 6:12Speaker 5: the alert right away, like a lab core or whatever,
- 6:14Speaker 5: and just you know, so I find out as soon
- 6:17Speaker 5: as the you know, results are in. I have like
- 6:19Speaker 5: the lab core app or whatever, and I do this
- 6:21Speaker 5: for my whole family. By the way, But I'm not
- 6:23Speaker 5: a doctor, but I've learned enough. I'm an attorney, but
- 6:27Speaker 5: I'm also involved in some medical devices and I've just
- 6:29Speaker 5: picked up a lot of medical stuff, so I'm able
- 6:31Speaker 5: to interpret it, you know, halfway there.
- 6:34Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, yes, it.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Can cause anxiety, but I at least can review and
- 6:39Speaker 5: figure out what's going on. And if I don't know
- 6:42Speaker 5: what it is, I'll look it up. I'll research, I'll
- 6:45Speaker 5: you know, I'll dig deep and figure out what that
- 6:47Speaker 5: what that reading is and sometimes like something's high, but
- 6:50Speaker 5: it doesn't mean anything serious is going on.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Admit it. You went to chat GPT and you ran
- 6:55Speaker 2: your numbers, didn't you.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll do it and I'll look into it.
- 7:00Speaker 5: But you know, it also is good because it informs
- 7:02Speaker 5: me a question to.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Ask the doctor and then for the follow up work.
- 7:05Speaker 3: That's that's the best point, because I think when we
- 7:08Speaker 3: talked about this on the show, it said the one
- 7:10Speaker 3: big advantage is you get to do a little bit
- 7:12Speaker 3: of homework for the questioning, as opposed to having it
- 7:14Speaker 3: sprung up on, you know, in that moment and you're
- 7:17Speaker 3: like what and you couldn't think of any questions.
- 7:19Speaker 2: You're not in their flying blind exactly.
- 7:21Speaker 5: So I like, I like going in with twenty twenty vision.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I don't let it rattle me, and I do enough
- 7:25Speaker 5: research to figure out how serious it is. And if
- 7:27Speaker 5: it's something serious, you're supposed to know about it because you.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Want to get it fixed.
- 7:30Speaker 5: And if it's not something serious, then great, you move on.
- 7:34Speaker 5: You know, it's not that big a deal and it's
- 7:35Speaker 5: just something that spiked high for that moment, and it's
- 7:38Speaker 5: not really you know, something they check for, but it's
- 7:40Speaker 5: not you know, without without other stuff also being off.
- 7:43Speaker 5: It doesn't mean anything on its own.
- 7:45Speaker 2: It doesn't mean anything that's going on, Robin. But thank
- 7:47Speaker 2: you for jumping in. I find it quite interesting that
- 7:50Speaker 2: you're a peaker. You peak on your entire family. Wow,
- 7:53Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point one, washefim?

- 10:05Speaker 3: percent remaining with the district overall. Mayor Muriel Bauser credited
- 10:09Speaker 3: investments in pay and professional development for helping attract and
- 10:14Speaker 3: keep top educators well. Nearly two years after arson destroyed
- 10:18Speaker 3: the main playground at Greenbrier Local Park in Montgomery County's Potomac,
- 10:24Speaker 3: they reopened a new play area, but police continue to
- 10:29Speaker 3: investigate and seek information about the case. And according to
- 10:33Speaker 3: a recent study, ninety five percent of US adults avoid
- 10:36Speaker 3: negotiating prices, even for big ticket items like cars, and
- 10:41Speaker 3: typically will not haggle unless savings reach anywhere from twenty

- 21:52Speaker 2: I'm noticing something over the weekend. I noticed that I

- 22:00Speaker 2: it's just overwhelmingly in my opinion, bad.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't watch the news. It's on my phone,

- 22:57Speaker 3: the news and politicizing every single story that can be
- 23:02Speaker 3: overwhelming and cause anxiety.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I mean, I just can't. And I know we live
- 23:06Speaker 2: in a very news oriented town and I used to
- 23:09Speaker 2: like being a news junkie, but there are times when
- 23:13Speaker 2: you have to just walk away from the news. You know,
