- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go.
- 0:11Speaker 1: To uh eighty bo.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 2: Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game. You're listening just to Godsend Company.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We have a very exciting HEP three Cup five coming
- 0:35Speaker 1: up towards the end of our of our meeting here
- 0:38Speaker 1: with Mark Cockman.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I don't know why I called it a meeting. It's
- 0:41Speaker 2: a we're just doing We're just podcasting. Why did I
- 0:43Speaker 2: call it a meeting?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Okay, I have no idea what I just did there
- 0:46Speaker 1: as if we're having some sort of company meeting.
- 0:48Speaker 4: I mean, a very odd description of what was about
- 0:51Speaker 4: the transpire a meeting. We are redefining the podcast game.
- 0:57Speaker 4: We've taken it from podcast to meetings.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So listen in on this meeting please. I don't know
- 1:03Speaker 1: why I said that. I've never said it before. I've
- 1:05Speaker 1: never opened an any radio segment I've ever done, or
- 1:08Speaker 1: podcast segment.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Saying that we're meeting with Mark cockfit Stu.
- 1:15Speaker 5: What I've kind of noticed is when you go from
- 1:19Speaker 5: the radio studio to your home, Yeah, all bets are
- 1:23Speaker 5: off for you.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, of course, right. I don't have the radio studio,
- 1:28Speaker 1: the environment, it's not around me. They are not executives.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just I let it fly when I'm
- 1:33Speaker 1: sitting here at home, just doing it.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Willy nilly.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Does you walk into a radio station and it just
- 1:38Speaker 4: kind of governs you, You know, if you grew up
- 1:41Speaker 4: in radio, the radio station itself governs you.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeahs.
- 1:46Speaker 4: You know, We've talked about it on our podcast before.
- 1:50Speaker 4: You know, when I do this podcast or if I
- 1:52Speaker 4: broadcast from home, I'm so much more apt to let
- 1:56Speaker 4: ambient noise not bother me, and people walking in and
- 2:01Speaker 4: out of the room not bother me. Just like there's
- 2:05Speaker 4: something about a studio that governs on air broadcast behavior,
- 2:11Speaker 4: and the moment you're out of that studio, it really is.
- 2:13Speaker 3: It's like anything goes yes, yes, it turns into a meeting,
- 2:19Speaker 3: turns into a meeting. Here we go. I gotta tell
- 2:22Speaker 3: you for the meeting today.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Well, I'll get to the agenda in just a second.
- 2:25Speaker 1: But speaking of sports radio and that environment, Taylor has
- 2:29Speaker 1: found himself new to sports radio, not new to podcasting.
- 2:32Speaker 1: He has found himself in sports radio conundrums, conundrums where
- 2:37Speaker 1: you have to deal with clocks, you have to deal
- 2:38Speaker 1: with twelve minute commercial breaks. He wants to get a segment,
- 2:41Speaker 1: an idea off, and then he wants to do something else,
- 2:44Speaker 1: and we're trying to do two segments at once, two
- 2:46Speaker 1: different games at once, and he doesn't have enough time,
- 2:48Speaker 1: and he freaks out and he's losing his mind.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I don't know if Taylor likes live radio or not.
- 2:52Speaker 2: He's good at it. Taylor, do you like it?
- 2:55Speaker 5: I like live radio. The part that's tough sometimes is
- 3:00Speaker 5: when the host comes in and sits down and goes, so,
- 3:02Speaker 5: what am I talking about today?
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's a good show, though the shows have been good.
- 3:07Speaker 1: When we do it that way, I mean, Jesus, you
- 3:09Speaker 1: want me to plan it out, they'll be terrible.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I mean.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It is a different animal. It really is.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Radio is a different animal because you have different concerns.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Uh ha, what I'm doing. And you know this because
- 3:22Speaker 1: Dan used to do it to us. I'm just listening
- 3:23Speaker 1: to Taylor. He is spewing out sports tags. He's talking
- 3:28Speaker 1: to you know, Bornout Ricardo, He's talking to mikey A,
- 3:30Speaker 1: He's talking to the guys.
- 3:31Speaker 2: In Sherburn Oaks.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And I'm just listening, and just by listening he gives
- 3:35Speaker 1: me an.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Entire show to do it.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I believable.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He still cares about this ship, right, yes he does.
- 3:42Speaker 1: He cares about it deeply.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Anyway, into the Marlins here, how about Sandy?
- 3:46Speaker 3: He is baam, I really am?
- 3:48Speaker 4: Yes, I'm so listen the Rockies and the White Sox,
- 3:54Speaker 4: but so what like, who cares wreck up some wins
- 3:57Speaker 4: when you can?
- 3:59Speaker 3: Sandy has a zero era in two starts. It's crazy.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Now, I'm not a baseball expert, but I don't think
- 4:07Speaker 4: you can do much better in.
- 4:09Speaker 3: The era realm in zero zero zero.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Now, I think, if you really want to talk baseball,
- 4:16Speaker 4: their first three pitchers in their rotation, Sandy, Yuri Perez
- 4:21Speaker 4: and Max Meyer.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I think they have like three legit starters right there.
- 4:27Speaker 4: And so if they can hit, which they've had no
- 4:29Speaker 4: problem hitting.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Man again, you're gonna get the real answer.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I think about the Marlins with this weekend series against
- 4:36Speaker 4: the Yankees, because that ain't the Rockies or the White Sox.
- 4:41Speaker 4: But listen, I know it's one hundred and sixty two
- 4:43Speaker 4: game season, but give me a five and one start
- 4:46Speaker 4: anytime at least you feel like there's something there, rather
- 4:51Speaker 4: than you know, starting one in five ozho and six
- 4:54Speaker 4: and you feel like you're gonna be digging out.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Of a hole for the entire season. So I'm in.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I'm enjoying it.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yankees Marlins kind of feels like a Who's who series?
- 5:03Speaker 1: Really wow in what regard I mean, I think we're
- 5:06Speaker 1: going to find out.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Are we certainly know who the Marlins are?
- 5:08Speaker 4: I mean, well, we can we can find out a
- 5:11Speaker 4: little bit. I think we know who the Yankees are.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I think we can find out a little bit about
- 5:15Speaker 4: the Marlins right front road trip there in the Bronx.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Who's uh is it?
- 5:21Speaker 4: Will it be Ury pitching tomorrow? Because I guess Sandy
- 5:24Speaker 4: pitch yesterday? So does Ury pitch tomorrow?
- 5:26Speaker 1: You're asking who's taking the bump? Yeah, we's got on
- 5:29Speaker 1: the bump.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Tomorrow's jury Perez Will Warren Max Meyer versus Ryan Weathers.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Wow, the Ryan Weathers revenge game. And then Chris Paddock
- 5:40Speaker 5: the cowboy or the sheriff.
- 5:43Speaker 4: That guy had a very rough go of it for
- 5:45Speaker 4: the Marlins in his first start.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Is he a cowboy or griff? I'm confused.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Did you see his first start?
- 5:53Speaker 2: No?
- 5:53Speaker 3: No, no, I had that four hits.
- 5:59Speaker 5: So stud The confusion there is he is the sheriff,
- 6:03Speaker 5: but he comes in every game. He comes in wearing
- 6:08Speaker 5: a cowboy hat.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Right, Oh, does he really?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Chris Paddock is the sheriff.
- 6:13Speaker 5: He's a sheriff.
- 6:15Speaker 3: You know my guy.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Davison de Los Santos. Yeah, he's also in the minors.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Wait, so you guys are saying, we'll find out about
- 6:26Speaker 1: the bar We know what the Yankees are, They're great.
- 6:29Speaker 1: We'll find out about the Marlins this weekend. What if
- 6:31Speaker 1: they lose two of three to the Yankees?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Is that enough for you?
- 6:34Speaker 3: Is that that wouldn't bother That wouldn't bother me.
- 6:36Speaker 4: That wouldn't bother me, because what you'd still be, uh
- 6:39Speaker 4: six and three on the season. Like, I just don't
- 6:42Speaker 4: want to see them get molly wopped by the Yankees.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Where you go?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh?
- 6:46Speaker 4: They I mean they beat up on two terrible teams,
- 6:49Speaker 4: the Rockies and the White Sox. And when it comes
- 6:51Speaker 4: to a good team, they can't even compete. But I'm
- 6:53Speaker 4: telling you, because it's an afternoon game tomorrow, watch Yuri
- 6:57Speaker 4: Perez tomorrow.
- 6:59Speaker 3: You can see if this guy is legit. Legit.
- 7:02Speaker 4: He had shorter odds to win the cy Young than
- 7:05Speaker 4: Sandy al Contra going into the season.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Really yeah, well, I mean Sandy has one of cy Young,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you know.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Like, so that's interesting, and like.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I don't buy the fact that this is going to
- 7:18Speaker 1: determine whether or not the Marlins are good. They can
- 7:20Speaker 1: get swept, and I still think the Marlins are a young,
- 7:22Speaker 1: good team.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I agree, And during a baseball season, anyone can go
- 7:26Speaker 4: on a six game heater and anyone can drop you know,
- 7:30Speaker 4: nine of ten, just for no no reason.
- 7:33Speaker 3: But it has been a fun start.
- 7:35Speaker 4: If there's gonna be any kind of excitement generated about
- 7:37Speaker 4: the Marlins, remember the Marylins were still in the wild
- 7:40Speaker 4: card hunt late last season, so if they've gotten better,
- 7:44Speaker 4: Sandy had a slow start last season.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah, he was bad, like he like, he looks so
- 7:50Speaker 3: good these first two games. So I don't know. I
- 7:52Speaker 3: don't want to.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I don't want to get overly excited about this team,
- 7:55Speaker 4: but I am buying them after six games.
- 7:58Speaker 5: I think what we're seeing with Chris Paddock being the
- 8:01Speaker 5: sheriff is something similar to the George Gervin Caleb Williams
- 8:05Speaker 5: iceman dilemma, where Peyton Manning is very clearly the sheriff.
- 8:11Speaker 5: So Chris Pattick coming along saying I'm the sheriff. I
- 8:14Speaker 5: feel like we need a committee who decides, like, hey,
- 8:17Speaker 5: this one athlete is going to be this nickname, and
- 8:20Speaker 5: then nobody else can kind of contested.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I mean, I don't need a committee to tell you
- 8:24Speaker 1: the iceman is George Gervin. Whether he copyrighted it or
- 8:27Speaker 1: not is that's on George.
- 8:29Speaker 2: But he is the iceman.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I mean, that's what I can give you.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I can give you an argument that Peyton Manning is
- 8:35Speaker 4: not the sheriff.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You can never called him the sheriff by athlete of
- 8:39Speaker 1: that caliber who doesn't get referred to.
- 8:43Speaker 4: As his nickname constantly over and over, Like I'm not
- 8:46Speaker 4: certain I knew Peyton Manning was the sheriff.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yes, yes, you normally end Woodstugatts in Hawk.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I have to nail three nicknames.
- 8:54Speaker 1: If you asked me Peyton Manning, I'm not certain I
- 8:57Speaker 1: would blurt back.
- 8:58Speaker 2: The sheriff.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not sure that.
- 9:00Speaker 4: I think I literally would say, one of the few
- 9:03Speaker 4: athletes who doesn't have a nickname, Peyton.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Manning Brady has one, right TB twelve.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well he should be the sheriff.
- 9:12Speaker 4: I mean, well, when I think of the sheriff, I
- 9:15Speaker 4: think of Fred McGriff.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Right, well, crime dog, Yes, yeah, yeah, put it on
- 9:22Speaker 1: the Paul Taylor, what do you think of sheriff's Do
- 9:25Speaker 1: you think of Fred McGriff.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Of all people?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Taylor, you're a little nervous about the Marlins coming into town.
- 9:33Speaker 1: What do you think you're I mean you're Yankees? Oh yeah, yeah, really.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Yeah, so I watched her.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Oh I think I've got Ron Gidrey's number.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Louisy Adam, Yeah, I know them all, man, amazing.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Did Taylor know that you know Ron Gidrey?
- 10:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm a Yankee guy.
- 10:02Speaker 4: If you had to be twenty years before you were born,
- 10:05Speaker 4: if your number is retired in Monument Park, I know you.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Like kids would get dropped off at daycare, I would
- 10:13Speaker 5: get dropped off at Monument Park, you know.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Chris Chambliss.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Of course. Now that's kind of why I knew the
- 10:22Speaker 5: name Oscar Gamble last time.
- 10:24Speaker 2: That's right.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So you know those late seventies early eighties teams pretty well,
- 10:28Speaker 1: like Roy White's and people like that.
- 10:30Speaker 3: That's son Gidry's nickname. That was impressive.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Mickey Rivers.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Oh, I love Mickey Rivers.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Rivers was so good will he rand up? I love
- 10:40Speaker 2: those teams and I was a Mets fan.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Great teams, it really was.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Ah, here's a funny thing, Tailor blurts out the other
- 10:48Speaker 1: day on the radio show, and we'll get to your
- 10:50Speaker 1: idea for fixing tanking in the NBA.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I can't wait to hear this.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But Taylor blurts out that he's finally seen Fields of
- 10:58Speaker 1: Dreams and he loved it. And when I love about
- 11:00Speaker 1: this is he is now watching movies that we watched
- 11:03Speaker 1: growing up. I believe he's watching My Cousin Vinnie as well.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Oh.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Solana watched My Cousin Vinnie for the first time the
- 11:10Speaker 4: other night and said it was fantastic because Crowder and
- 11:14Speaker 4: I rave about it. I love My Cousin Vinnie. I
- 11:17Speaker 4: think it might be a top ten movie of all time,
- 11:21Speaker 4: really of all time. Wow, Taylor put that on the poll.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Please my cousin Vinnie top ten movie of all time?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Hawk might be right, it's such a good movie. Peshi
- 11:32Speaker 1: is so good in that movie. Maria Taylo May is
- 11:35Speaker 1: so good. Judge, Yes, what what? What is a ute overruled?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Which one did you like better? Field of Dreams or
- 11:50Speaker 1: my cousin Vinnie? My cousin Vinnie.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I love.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Field of Dreams is a brilliant movie. I mean it
- 11:55Speaker 4: is brilliant movie. It is without question. We've had this
- 12:00Speaker 4: debate on the show the best baseball movie ever made?
- 12:06Speaker 4: Better than Bad News Bears? Yes, which is what Dan
- 12:09Speaker 4: would tell you, better than The Natural what many people
- 12:13Speaker 4: would say, my Dad?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Better than Major League? Yeah, which I've never seen.
- 12:19Speaker 2: What's not seeing that is shocking?
- 12:23Speaker 1: You need to watch Major League and come back on
- 12:25Speaker 1: next week and break it.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I get the idea. I don't need to see it.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I get to see it. What's the idea? I want
- 12:33Speaker 2: to hear? What your idea?
- 12:34Speaker 3: Crazy baseball team?
- 12:36Speaker 4: Charlie Sheen, nutty reliever and hi thrower on the diamond.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Should I nail it?
- 12:45Speaker 2: You're you're right.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You don't need to watch youtil you've seen it already.
- 12:50Speaker 5: I mean, I think the movie poster actually says Hi
- 12:53Speaker 5: Jinks and Sue.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm telling you I nailed it. I know exactly
- 12:56Speaker 4: what that movie is. I don't need to see it.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Taylor, which one did you like better? The two that
- 13:00Speaker 1: you watch? Which one did you like better?
- 13:03Speaker 5: I would probably say my cousin Vinnie, I liked.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Your great movie.
- 13:08Speaker 4: It is such a from the jump when they sit
- 13:11Speaker 4: down at the diner and you're trying to see what
- 13:14Speaker 4: they're going to order, and then you see the menu
- 13:17Speaker 4: and it just says breakfast, lunch or dinner. Yeah, and
- 13:20Speaker 4: it goes two, you want to to breakfast two? Those
- 13:24Speaker 4: are harmony grits.
- 13:26Speaker 2: It feels like I'm sure you can.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I'd like to hear you doing it. Feels like some
- 13:31Speaker 1: recency bias, Taylor. It's like my Cousin Vinnie is the
- 13:34Speaker 1: last movie you saw. That's why I mean is a
- 13:37Speaker 1: better movie.
- 13:37Speaker 5: I mean I saw them back to back days. It
- 13:40Speaker 5: wasn't like it was much recency. But my only my
- 13:44Speaker 5: only critique with my cousin Vinnie, Mursa Tome and PESHI,
- 13:51Speaker 5: I didn't feel the chemistry there between them.
- 13:53Speaker 4: See, I think the chemistry is brilliant between them. You
- 13:56Speaker 4: may not see it physically. You may look physically clean.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Go Marissa Tomay, tall and beautiful, and Joe Peshi squat
- 14:04Speaker 4: and uh Harry and you go. But the chemistry is
- 14:09Speaker 4: actually real, which is what I think makes the movie
- 14:12Speaker 4: so good.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yes, yes, but Feel the Dreams just has so many
- 14:16Speaker 1: moments in it.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You know, you know when they go to the.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Red Sox game, and then you know, James Earl Jones
- 14:22Speaker 1: gets out of Kevin Costner's van and he thinks he's
- 14:24Speaker 1: done with James Earl Jones, and then he turns the
- 14:26Speaker 1: van around and he says, I heard it.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Oh my god, I got the chills. I just got
- 14:31Speaker 4: the chills right now. I'm not kidding you, I just
- 14:33Speaker 4: got the times right now. That happens to be my
- 14:36Speaker 4: best impersonation. A lot of people think my best impersonation
- 14:39Speaker 4: is Steven Segal. A lot of people think my best
- 14:42Speaker 4: impersonation is alf Only Danza of.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Course, right, Oh no, yes, I'm a fan of Joe Girardi.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, have you heard my Joe Girardi. I'm Joe Girardi.
- 15:00Speaker 2: That's it.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Hey, I'm Joe Girardi.
- 15:04Speaker 4: We did about a week of that on the Levatard
- 15:06Speaker 4: show once, Hey, I'm Joe Girardi.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yes, by the fifth day he wanted to tear your
- 15:12Speaker 2: head off.
- 15:14Speaker 4: But many people believe my best impersonation is James Earl
- 15:19Speaker 4: Jones in the Field of Dreams.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Really, and I'm gonna get it to you right now.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Okay, I can't wait. Baseball that's it. I thought I'm
- 15:35Speaker 1: James Earl Joe.
- 15:37Speaker 3: No, he says.
- 15:39Speaker 4: When he's doing his poetic uh dissertation about the nation's pastime,
- 15:45Speaker 4: he drops a baseball.
- 15:48Speaker 3: He says, a lot of words.
- 15:50Speaker 4: You think you're doing Stettson comedy with James Earl Jones
- 15:53Speaker 4: right now? Ask me any question that can only be
- 15:57Speaker 4: answered with the word baseball.
- 16:02Speaker 5: What sport do the Marlins play? Base Ball?
- 16:09Speaker 4: What do we call America's past on baseball? Oh, we'd
- 16:14Speaker 4: like to thank James Earl Jones for.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Joining us today.
- 16:17Speaker 2: That was exciting.
- 16:18Speaker 1: That's a big get, he says, a thousand words after
- 16:23Speaker 1: he says, baseball the only one that hits.
- 16:27Speaker 2: If it's working, Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Movie, So good man, I had the idea of having
- 16:33Speaker 1: Frank Caliendo and all his characters come on the show.
- 16:36Speaker 2: And read that speech from Fields of Dreams. I think
- 16:38Speaker 2: we'll be a funny one. Yeah, that's a good one. Yes. Uh,
- 16:41Speaker 2: what's your idea here to fix tanking? Hawk? What are
- 16:44Speaker 2: you thinking?
- 16:45Speaker 3: My idea to fix tanking?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah? Do you have an idea to fix tanking? In
- 16:48Speaker 2: the NBA.
- 16:49Speaker 5: So, I was listening to Hawkman Crowder in Solana and
- 16:52Speaker 5: Hawk mentioned it in passing O were.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Shows on it at the same time.
- 16:59Speaker 5: I got a long drive to and from the studio.
- 17:02Speaker 5: I need to fill time, and for.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Me, not when you're headed to the studio. He's only
- 17:06Speaker 1: on when you're headed home from the studio.
- 17:08Speaker 3: No, I am on for an hour. You guys go
- 17:10Speaker 3: on to three rights.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Right, yes, right, right, yes, all right, and.
- 17:13Speaker 4: You guarantee you your three o'clock hour is my two
- 17:16Speaker 4: o'clock hour. If you miss Hawkmann Crowder in Solana on
- 17:23Speaker 4: one oh four point three FM, Yes, you can hear
- 17:26Speaker 4: the first hour again on nine AM in Miami.
- 17:30Speaker 1: We should change the name of the show, Scelearro.
- 17:37Speaker 5: So you guys were talking about how to stop tanking,
- 17:41Speaker 5: and then Hawk just threw out the phrase bank the tank.
- 17:45Speaker 5: And then when he got when he got pressed on it,
- 17:47Speaker 5: they were like, how does that work? And you really
- 17:50Speaker 5: didn't have anything. You just had the phrase.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Right, So I've got I've got what did Trump say
- 17:57Speaker 4: He's got.
- 17:58Speaker 3: The the beginning of a plan? Yeah, I have concepts
- 18:04Speaker 3: of a plan.
- 18:05Speaker 4: I know everyone will get on board with bank the tank.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I just don't know what it is yet, but it's.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Something along with every idea.
- 18:15Speaker 2: It starts with a good name. You're right, yes, yeah,
- 18:17Speaker 2: I totally agree.
- 18:18Speaker 3: So it starts somewhere with.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Maybe I can bank some losses and utilize them later
- 18:29Speaker 4: for the tank. Oh somewhere in there, so I don't
- 18:34Speaker 4: have to officially tank at the end of a season.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I mean, if you some of the lines right now,
- 18:39Speaker 3: like if you're.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Betting last night, there's multiple games that are minus fifteen
- 18:44Speaker 4: and over. It shouldn't be. It shouldn't listen. It's not
- 18:47Speaker 4: like there's parody. But there shouldn't be nineteen point road
- 18:51Speaker 4: favorites in the NBA right now.
- 18:54Speaker 2: There shouldn't.
- 18:55Speaker 3: And it's tanking. But what if you were able to
- 18:58Speaker 3: bank the tank?
- 19:01Speaker 2: This is what he does. He just has a name, he.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Doesn't I dare you to disagree with that? What if
- 19:08Speaker 3: you were able to bank the tank?
- 19:09Speaker 2: I can't solved it.
- 19:12Speaker 5: So, hauk when you came up with that idea, what
- 19:14Speaker 5: I did was I went into the lab and I said, hey,
- 19:16Speaker 5: let me try to flesh this idea out. All right,
- 19:20Speaker 5: A team gets the first pick, but say that draft
- 19:23Speaker 5: night they don't want to use the first pick. Their
- 19:26Speaker 5: first pick. Now goes to the end of the first
- 19:29Speaker 5: round and they're choosing to bank the tank. And they
- 19:32Speaker 5: almost just get a briefcase that just says bank the
- 19:35Speaker 5: tank on it.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Like a wrestling like the what's the wrestling thing? Money
- 19:39Speaker 4: in the bank, Money in the bank.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 19:42Speaker 3: So then I see what you're saying here.
- 19:44Speaker 4: So the Atlanta Hawks, they have Zachary Rishia say available
- 19:50Speaker 4: as the overall number one.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Well, they don't want him. He's not he's not a
- 19:55Speaker 3: game changer exactly. So they go, hey, we're going to
- 19:58Speaker 3: bank the tank.
- 20:00Speaker 4: And now the next year, Cooper Flag is coming out
- 20:05Speaker 4: and Dallas is about to make their pick, and Atlanta
- 20:09Speaker 4: comes running in.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I think it's Jamie Gertz, who owns the team.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Yeah, Jamie Gertz comes running in with the briefcase, Yes,
- 20:18Speaker 4: bank the tank, Cooper Flag.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Nobody knows what just happened.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Wow, that would be uh, that would be appointment viewing
- 20:25Speaker 1: television right there?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Really, really, I think you have saved the NBA.
- 20:29Speaker 3: I think we just solved it.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Someone got Adam Silver on the blower.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Wait, so he walks in, So how does this work?
- 20:39Speaker 1: So the Mavericks, so they have no idea that the
- 20:41Speaker 1: Hawks are about to come in and bank the tank.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I don't know how does it work in wrestling?
- 20:46Speaker 4: Is there any kind of indication that somebody might be
- 20:48Speaker 4: using the money in the bank.
- 20:51Speaker 5: So there's no real indication, but in this one it
- 20:55Speaker 5: would be hard not to where it's like rumors like
- 20:57Speaker 5: Sham's is like, Hey, rumors are the Hawks might be
- 21:01Speaker 5: cashing in their bank the tank tonight.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I like it.
- 21:04Speaker 2: So reported news is what you're saying.
- 21:07Speaker 1: But I like I like the idea of the for
- 21:09Speaker 1: TV purposes of the Mavericks thinking they're about to get
- 21:12Speaker 1: Cooper flag in the Atlanta Hawks walking in with a
- 21:16Speaker 1: briefcase and claiming that they are banking the tank. Yes,
- 21:20Speaker 1: right there, we're going to exercise our bank the tank
- 21:24Speaker 1: the Hawks of the first pick of the draft.
- 21:27Speaker 3: No, I'm talking about the year.
- 21:30Speaker 1: All right, A couple of years ago I was going
- 21:31Speaker 1: to say the Hawks are good now, and they should
- 21:34Speaker 1: I mean, listen, Dallas should have wished that the Hawks
- 21:37Speaker 1: did that.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Cooper Flag's a bust. I mean, oh stop it, look
- 21:41Speaker 2: at the record, hark. Listen. I'm not exactly sure how
- 21:49Speaker 2: this fix is tanking. I gotta be honest, I think
- 21:51Speaker 2: we just fixed it. Well. No, all you're doing is
- 21:53Speaker 2: pushing off your top pick till the next season.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I mean, right, if you think that the top pick
- 21:58Speaker 4: is not a good top pick, you don't have to
- 22:00Speaker 4: be stuck with them. You went through a whole season
- 22:02Speaker 4: of tanking, and your payoff is Zachary Rishia say, I'll
- 22:06Speaker 4: bank the tank.
- 22:10Speaker 2: It's a good name. I'll give you that.
- 22:13Speaker 5: But also it's like you might be looking ahead for
- 22:17Speaker 5: Cooper flag and then all of a sudden, when you're
- 22:20Speaker 5: holding this bank to tank of Victor Wembin Yama comes
- 22:23Speaker 5: up and it's like, WHOA, I might want to use
- 22:26Speaker 5: the bank the tank right here?
- 22:28Speaker 4: And how about then, Zachary Rishia say, is there in
- 22:32Speaker 4: the green room seven straight drafts in a row no
- 22:35Speaker 4: one ever takes?
- 22:40Speaker 2: Wait, why can't you take them later in the draft?
- 22:45Speaker 5: And what if we reward teams at the end of
- 22:48Speaker 5: the season where if they win a certain amount of games,
- 22:52Speaker 5: they're granted bank the tank blockers.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Whoa bank the tank blockers blocked.
- 23:00Speaker 4: There's a little bit of thought, you have a winning idea.
- 23:05Speaker 1: And here I was so dumb of me to think
- 23:07Speaker 1: that you had flushed this out entirely. What I should
- 23:11Speaker 1: have known better because all you care about is bank
- 23:13Speaker 1: to tank.
- 23:14Speaker 4: And really it can extend to other sports, Yeah, like baseball.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Thanks James Earl Jones. And we didn't realize you were.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Still here just tagging around the show.
- 23:28Speaker 5: That's gonna be huge for the description.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Joe Girardi, you cant imitated that. Do you want if
- 23:40Speaker 2: you do it that way? Oh?
- 23:41Speaker 3: Sure again?
- 23:44Speaker 2: Let me hear you're Jim Leland.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Hey, I'm Jim Leland. He's a little raspy because of
- 23:49Speaker 3: the smoking.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Oh I love you.
- 23:56Speaker 1: All right, Let's get to keep three a cup five?
- 23:58Speaker 2: What are we doing today, Taylor?
- 24:00Speaker 5: So this is names from the nineteen eighties MLB outfielders
- 24:04Speaker 5: that make you smile.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Oh wow, it's that or fast food menu items.
- 24:10Speaker 3: We're on the floor. Let's go deliver it.
- 24:14Speaker 1: So we're keeping three, we're cutting five. We have no
- 24:17Speaker 1: idea debt five. Yeah right, yeah, Monday right. So but
- 24:25Speaker 1: if Rick Monday comes out first and you want them,
- 24:28Speaker 1: h you know, you have to decide right then and
- 24:31Speaker 1: there whether or not you want to keep them, because
- 24:32Speaker 1: you might be missing out of Jesse Barfield.
- 24:34Speaker 2: You know he knows.
- 24:39Speaker 5: The first name up? Yeah, Al Cohens, al Cohens.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I don't know who Al Cohens is.
- 24:48Speaker 4: That from my sixteen inch softball league team in Chicago.
- 24:53Speaker 2: That OJ's best friend.
- 24:57Speaker 5: So it looks like Al Cohens was a outfielder for
- 25:00Speaker 5: the Royals, Angels, Tigers, Mariners from seventy four to eighty six.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I think that Al is that who you're talking about.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Yes, Dave Cowen's Yeah, Dave Cowens, better Cowens.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'll take him.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Dave Cowen, who's the Celtics nugget.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Here's the problem on Sailor. Because you and I this
- 25:25Speaker 2: is our wheelhouse.
- 25:25Speaker 1: He might not be familiar with eighties altfield house smut.
- 25:30Speaker 3: He may be doing. I think he may be doing
- 25:33Speaker 3: it off look.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Because Al Cowen's makes me smile looking at his Google
- 25:39Speaker 4: image pictures.
- 25:41Speaker 1: He just google limit chearch eighties outfielders who haven't afro.
- 25:49Speaker 3: All right, I'm cutting Al Cowens.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Well, it's an easy cut, and I mean never heard
- 25:54Speaker 1: of the guy. All right, next one, next name up?
- 26:00Speaker 5: Kittle?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Oh, kitty Cat listen?
- 26:02Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I think we determined that he's not kitty Cat.
- 26:07Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 26:08Speaker 4: I don't think Ron Kittle is the opposite of a
- 26:11Speaker 4: kitty cat.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I gotta tell you.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I spent an entire show once convincing Dan that Kerry
- 26:16Speaker 1: Kittle's nickname was kitty Cat.
- 26:18Speaker 4: I knew it wasn't Ron, but by the end of
- 26:21Speaker 4: the show Dan was convinced. Yes, Ron Kittle was so
- 26:23Speaker 4: shocking for me when he played for the White Sox.
- 26:25Speaker 4: He was a good power hitter, but he wore glasses. Yes,
- 26:29Speaker 4: and very few people wore glasses as MLB players.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yes, it's strange.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I dare you to call that guy kitty cat at
- 26:38Speaker 4: his face, you'd have the glasses up your ass.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Well, this is uh, his season high for homers. I
- 26:47Speaker 1: think it was forty one, right.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm keeping Ron Kittle?
- 26:51Speaker 2: And are you really so? You and I have to
- 26:53Speaker 2: agree on this, don't We don't know. I don't know.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Yeah, you have to come to some kind of consensus.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Yeah, he want to keep Ron Kittle?
- 27:01Speaker 2: All right, We got six names left. We cut Al Cowens,
- 27:06Speaker 2: whoever the fuck that guy is. We're gonna keep Kitty
- 27:09Speaker 2: Cat here. We got we.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Gotta keep Ron Kittle. I'm not going to allow you
- 27:13Speaker 4: to keep disrespecting him.
- 27:14Speaker 2: All right, Well, I'm write it down as Kiddy Cat.
- 27:17Speaker 4: All right, We're keeping kittle nickname if anything comes up.
- 27:22Speaker 5: Next name up, Leon Durham.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Oh wow, I thought Leon Durham was a first baseman.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I think he was, Yes, d h first baseman.
- 27:34Speaker 5: This has him listed as first base slash outfielder.
- 27:38Speaker 2: All right, I give you that.
- 27:40Speaker 3: No, I don't you know.
- 27:42Speaker 4: The category is making me leary because these are outfielders
- 27:45Speaker 4: who make me smile. And Leon Durham, Bull Durham, he
- 27:49Speaker 4: is a first baseman and is.
- 27:51Speaker 2: He is in your personal record book? I am. I'm
- 27:55Speaker 2: with you on that. He's a first base ron Kittle.
- 27:56Speaker 3: By the way, his nickname is bandit.
- 28:00Speaker 2: That's what he thinks. I mean.
- 28:05Speaker 5: So it looks like the first three first four seasons
- 28:10Speaker 5: for Leon Durham were primarily in the outfield, and then
- 28:14Speaker 5: late in his career he switched to first base.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna cut him as much
- 28:20Speaker 4: as this pains me because I love Leon Durham. But
- 28:23Speaker 4: as much as it pains me, I want to keep
- 28:25Speaker 4: him on the bench for when you do first basement
- 28:28Speaker 4: from the eighties who make.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Me smile, Yes, because we would automatically choose Leon Durham
- 28:34Speaker 1: and be outrage if you didn't include him.
- 28:35Speaker 4: On the list, Yes, exactly, or infielders, in fielders from
- 28:41Speaker 4: the eighties who make me smile. So I'm gonna I'm
- 28:43Speaker 4: gonna vote to cut Leon Durham as much as that
- 28:45Speaker 4: pains me.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yes, a good start though, a guy we've never heard of,
- 28:49Speaker 1: and a guy who played first base for eighties outfielders
- 28:52Speaker 1: that put a smile.
- 28:52Speaker 2: On your face. At least we have Kiddy Cat. I
- 28:54Speaker 2: mean that.
- 28:59Speaker 6: It'll played the outfield number three, Bruce Souiter, fourth, the
- 29:14Speaker 6: fourth name up, Yeah, Ken Singleton.
- 29:20Speaker 3: There's a white sock, right. Didn't he play a season
- 29:22Speaker 3: or two with the White Socks? Ken sick?
- 29:23Speaker 1: I think he's better known as an oriole Ken Singleton.
- 29:26Speaker 1: He was a good player. I'm not certain again he
- 29:28Speaker 1: played DH I know, I don't know how many games
- 29:31Speaker 1: he played in the outfield, but he is a definitive outfielder.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I guess Ken Singleton. I don't know if I want
- 29:35Speaker 2: to keep that guy.
- 29:36Speaker 4: He doesn't put a any white Sox history on Ken
- 29:38Speaker 4: Singleton Taylor.
- 29:40Speaker 5: So he played seventy to seventy one on the Mets,
- 29:43Speaker 5: seventy two to seventy four on the Expos, and then
- 29:46Speaker 5: seventy five to eighty four on the Orioles. Never a
- 29:49Speaker 5: white sock. I only associate him as a Yankees play
- 29:52Speaker 5: by play guy.
- 29:54Speaker 2: That's why you chose him.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna put Ken Singleton on the bench.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna cut him.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Same here, No Ken Singleton for me.
- 30:05Speaker 5: The next name up, Tony Armas.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Oh wow, a mash m Tony Armis is an old
- 30:14Speaker 4: Levantard show bit we we once did.
- 30:18Speaker 3: I think it was.
- 30:21Speaker 4: This is I mean, way back in the beginning, was
- 30:23Speaker 4: like athletes who cannote war. Yeah, and Dan came up
- 30:27Speaker 4: with the very creative Tony Armas.
- 30:30Speaker 3: It's like more.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Arms armas armas Spanish for arms.
- 30:36Speaker 2: M H, thank you, but I mean arms.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Like weapons, not like appendage.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Right. It was a terrible nomination by Dan.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I mean I think we all burst out into laughter.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Different arms.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Tony Armas seventy two years old? Right now?
- 30:55Speaker 1: Really a young seventy two. I'm trying to think of
- 30:58Speaker 1: other athletes that couldnote war. I mean, Kenny bad love.
- 31:03Speaker 4: The way Tony Armis looked, but I'm not.
- 31:09Speaker 3: You know what he does bring a smile to my face,
- 31:11Speaker 3: and that is the Yeah.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Yes, there's no doubt that he brings this in comparison
- 31:17Speaker 2: to like, let's say he blurted out Willie Ancott.
- 31:19Speaker 3: You know, yeah, that brings a smile to my faith. Yes,
- 31:22Speaker 3: so we get to keep three and cut five.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Yes, Armis Armis. By the way, I had forty three
- 31:29Speaker 1: homers one hundred and twenty three.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Arbis one year, good player.
- 31:33Speaker 5: This is the fifth name.
- 31:35Speaker 3: It's the fifth name.
- 31:41Speaker 4: Because we're gonna have to keep two.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Out of the next three.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I'm good cutting Tony Armas.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I am all right, Tony.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I'm hoping.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I'm hoping we fill a busted enough for tailor. I
- 31:54Speaker 1: finds the better names.
- 31:55Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 31:56Speaker 3: He doesn't know that it's not his era.
- 31:58Speaker 5: I know.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I thought, listen, I to be honest, I thought Mikey
- 32:01Speaker 1: A was going to be involved in Mikey A.
- 32:03Speaker 2: It's not. It's not his era. But give me an
- 32:05Speaker 2: Oscar table please.
- 32:07Speaker 5: The next name up. Gorman Thomas.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we're cooking. No, I'm cooking with grease.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Gorman Thomas.
- 32:19Speaker 4: If he doesn't make you smile, you've never seen his
- 32:22Speaker 4: baseball card, you're a miserable fuck.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Gorman Thomas have a nickname.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I mean he has, dude, No one's calling him.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Gorman, not unless Stormy Gorman of course.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Wow, Yeah, that's great, that's great.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I was going to try to convince you that it
- 32:45Speaker 2: was the Mormon gormant.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Gorman Thomas. Yeah, he was a good player.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yes, it doesn't matter how good he was, none of it. Mad.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Is it just you hear the name? Does it make
- 33:01Speaker 2: you smile?
- 33:02Speaker 3: Right?
- 33:02Speaker 4: And I think of his baseball card from the eighties,
- 33:05Speaker 4: big bushy mustache, hair all over the place.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yes, yes, I'm keeping Gorman Thomas Man. Yeah, yeah, forty
- 33:12Speaker 2: five homers one year. God, that guy was good. Wow.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Right next day, Taylor.
- 33:17Speaker 5: So you guys have kept ron Kittle and Gorman Thomas.
- 33:21Speaker 5: You can only keep one of the next two names. Okay,
- 33:26Speaker 5: the seventh name coming up? Six dough Loconzo.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Six O Lescano, Yes, Tomato dropped me. Six do Loconzo
- 33:38Speaker 4: on us Who does not make me smile, but six
- 33:42Speaker 4: still Lescano does.
- 33:46Speaker 2: The first guy makes me sad.
- 33:51Speaker 4: I think I bought I bought a route had a
- 33:54Speaker 4: flea market on forty fifth Street from six still Loconzo.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Six.
- 34:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep him hawk. I don't care what the
- 34:09Speaker 1: next name is. That gout no one puts us. I
- 34:11Speaker 1: guess him and Gorman Thomas are the two people that
- 34:13Speaker 1: make me smile the most so far.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I love Sixscano, Yeah, I love him taking a game.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Listen if you want to wait for the last name.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I'm good with no.
- 34:22Speaker 4: I love I always love six Tilescano. I gotta keep
- 34:26Speaker 4: him half.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I have a rule.
- 34:28Speaker 1: You don't listen, you don't pass up, and you keep
- 34:30Speaker 1: three cups five, you don't pass up on six to Locano,
- 34:33Speaker 1: I mean Coonzo whatever that hell he called them.
- 34:38Speaker 4: We've got kit, we've got a We've got an outfield
- 34:40Speaker 4: of Kittle, Thomas and Lescano.
