- 1:08Speaker 1: animals here in the show today. So Marcel Reid is
- 1:13Speaker 1: one of the finalists for this year's Manning Award. That
- 1:16Speaker 1: award given each year to the quarterback that has the
- 1:19Speaker 1: most TV commercials on the air. No, No, that's that's
- 1:23Speaker 1: not true. CJ. Car Haines, King, Fernando Mendoza, Drew Messmaker,
- 1:28Speaker 1: Dante more Diego, Pavia, Julian Sayan, ty Simpson, Gunner Stockton

- 2:16Speaker 1: is nice that award will be I don't know, I
- 2:21Speaker 1: got to vote on that soon. December ninth finalists. Okay,
- 2:27Speaker 1: that's next week, right. Football Scoop is reporting that Kansas
- 2:32Speaker 1: State ain't going to the bowl game. The players voted
- 2:35Speaker 1: not to accept a Bowl invitation. That means Chris Clemon
- 2:39Speaker 1: has coached his last game as a Wildcat and Colin Klein,
- 2:47Speaker 1: although it hasn't been made official, I don't think just yet.
- 2:51Speaker 1: On his way to Manhattan to replace climbing and goodbye
- 2:57Speaker 1: to the Bahamas Bowl, Scott Clinton and I I talked
- 3:00Speaker 1: every year about going to two different bowls, the New
- 3:03Speaker 1: Orleans Bowl and the Bahamas Bowl. And I never got
- 3:07Speaker 1: to the Bahamas Bowl. And instead I introduce you to
- 3:11Speaker 1: the Xbox Bowl at Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. That
- 3:18Speaker 1: game will be played at eight pm Thursday, December eighteenth
- 3:23Speaker 1: at Frisco between Missouri State from Conference USA, first Bowl
- 3:30Speaker 1: appearance ever against Arkansas State from the Sun Belt. Xbox
- 3:38Speaker 1: is the new title sponsor, and as some wag said
- 3:47Speaker 1: on the social media today, I'm sure the weather in
- 3:50Speaker 1: Frisco will be very similar December eighteenth to the weather
- 3:54Speaker 1: in the Bahamas. Lane Kiffin said he had difficulty choosing
- 3:59Speaker 1: a program when he had his presser after he went
- 4:03Speaker 1: to LSU. Said it was difficult, lots of back and forth.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But according to Mark Schleibov ESPN, there was another school
- 4:13Speaker 1: that was in negotiations a little bit earlier that all
- 4:17Speaker 1: of this happened, and that was Florida State. All right.
- 4:21Speaker 1: They had the big ACC SEC basketball challenge the last
- 4:28Speaker 1: two nights, first night Tuesday Night. ACC won six of nine.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But last night, here we go. Alabama beat Clemson ninety
- 4:40Speaker 1: to eighty four. Arkansas took down Louisville eighty nine to eighty.
- 4:48Speaker 1: LSU beat Boston College in overtime seventy eight sixty nine.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Virginia crushed Texas eighty eight sixty nine. Mississippi State beat
- 5:02Speaker 1: Georgia Tech eighty five seventy three. Vanderbilt took down SMU.
- 5:08Speaker 1: That was the Pony's first loss eighty eight sixty nine
- 5:14Speaker 1: all toll and somebody will correct me. I'm sure if
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm wrong. The SEC won nine of the sixteen over
- 5:24Speaker 1: the ACC. So good comeback last night. Vanderbilt. By the way,
- 5:31Speaker 1: they're having a heck of a season in foot in sports,
- 5:36Speaker 1: right their basketball team is they're good. Do we say
- 5:41Speaker 1: they were number four in the net when we looked
- 5:43Speaker 1: at that Caleb, Yeah, five in the net. Pretty good. Yeah,
- 5:48Speaker 1: they're still unbeaten. This Tanner kid who was a freshman
- 5:51Speaker 1: last year, I mean he has, he's gotten better, he's improved.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So we got that going for us. Do we have
- 6:02Speaker 1: a Thursday night football game tonight? We do at six o'clock.
- 6:08Speaker 1: There's probably later than that. We're gonna find out. We
- 6:11Speaker 1: have a Thursday night football game tonight. Our cover starts
- 6:15Speaker 1: at six thirty six thirty? Would that be the Dallas
- 6:19Speaker 1: Cowboys who and the Detroit Lions. Man, I hope you
- 6:27Speaker 1: guys are getting ready for that one like I am.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I mean, as soon as I'm done here, I'm running
- 6:33Speaker 1: right home. I'll change clothes, I'll sit down in my
- 6:38Speaker 1: bark a lounger. I'll turn on college basketball. That's how
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'll get ready for the game. All Right, we're gonna
- 6:47Speaker 1: hear from Mike Elko coming up Monday. M Yeah, Monday.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Jimmy Hawkins, You say, Chip never heard of Jimmy Hawkins.
- 7:04Speaker 1: He was Tommy Bailey, George Bailey's youngest son in the
- 7:08Speaker 1: Christmas Classic It's a Wonderful Life. We're going to visit
- 7:12Speaker 1: with him Tuesday, the great Grammy winning artist Nora Jones
- 7:23Speaker 1: Tuesday on the show. I gotta tell you we're running
- 7:26Speaker 1: out of days that we're going to be around here.
- 7:29Speaker 1: So you guys, you better straighten up. You better not
- 7:33Speaker 1: miss anything because we got stuff coming. Just say it
- 7:39Speaker 1: all right, We'll take a break. We're gonna hear from
- 7:42Speaker 1: Elko after the final lap. Brought to you by and
- 7:46Speaker 1: Co Insurance.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Enco Insurance is now a part of Hub International, bringing
- 7:51Speaker 4: you more choices, better value, and even greater expertise. While
- 7:55Speaker 4: our name has changed, we're still the same local team
- 7:57Speaker 4: you know and trust, now with even more to offer
- 8:00Speaker 4: from business insurance to personal protection and employee benefits. We're
- 8:03Speaker 4: still committed to protecting what matters most with the personalized

- 8:09Speaker 4: behind us, more resources, more solutions, still your team, and
- 8:13Speaker 4: co Insurance a Hub International company, So you're ready for tomorrow.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Courson Hosamar is on talking about his comments online as
- 8:22Speaker 5: well as talking to Ricky Stenhouse Junior. So did he no?
- 8:27Speaker 6: I mean, unfortunately, like right is, Like, you know, I'm
- 8:30Speaker 6: not sure what I what I would say right, There's
- 8:33Speaker 6: nothing that really would change it. Right, We've already had
- 8:36Speaker 6: that conversation. I feel like we have a good relationship.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Had one right, you know, just running behind him, just
- 8:42Speaker 6: kind of logging laps, and you know, just locked up
- 8:45Speaker 6: in a very dumb spot and it was just so
- 8:47Speaker 6: dumb mistake that you know, didn't need to happen and
- 8:51Speaker 6: didn't want it to happen. And yeah, but there's nothing
- 8:54Speaker 6: that I could do or say, you know, I can't
- 8:56Speaker 6: buy him a Hallmark card and you know, really make better.
- 9:00Speaker 6: So it sucks for me because he's the only like
- 9:02Speaker 6: NASCAR driver that owns a sprint car team, and I
- 9:04Speaker 6: love sprint cars, so like it sucks because I want
- 9:06Speaker 6: to go talk to about a sprint car team. So
- 9:08Speaker 6: hopefully everything can be set. But I know that you know,
- 9:11Speaker 6: scorecard has me ahead right now. There's two ways to
- 9:14Speaker 6: look at it, you know. Number one, you know, I
- 9:16Speaker 6: think everybody in my inner circle number one wants the
- 9:19Speaker 6: best for me and our group, right for number one.
- 9:23Speaker 6: Number two, I think everybody, you know, I feel like
- 9:26Speaker 6: I put myself out there a lot more. The issue wasn't,
- 9:29Speaker 6: you know, for the team having their you know, kind
- 9:32Speaker 6: of frustrations, was that I'm giving my opinion and putting
- 9:34Speaker 6: it out there. It's just the fact that you know,
- 9:37Speaker 6: my opinion wasn't my opinion, It was just based off
- 9:40Speaker 6: everybody else. You know that I've heard or seen or
- 9:43Speaker 6: anything right. I didn't go do my own homework.
- 9:46Speaker 5: This is the final app.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Actual praise will depend on product and subscription plan. Featured

- 9:56Speaker 7: website details, restrictions and important SAFTY information.
- 9:58Speaker 5: I want to boost in and a the bedroom. Hymns

- 10:17Speaker 8: Nugget Bills, Nugget Bills, Nuggets all the way.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Hi, I'm Kylie, I'm John, and I'm Garrasson.
- 10:24Speaker 9: And a little thing we love about the thirty count
- 10:26Speaker 9: Chick fil A Nuggets.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Is sharing them.
- 10:28Speaker 5: When we cut down the Christmas tree, we will.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Pack the car with gifts, and of course we go
- 10:32Speaker 4: and pick up our family's favorite nuggets.
- 10:34Speaker 10: Evy nugget is tasty times quad billion and.
- 10:37Speaker 1: We get all the sides.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, the Ooey Guy Mac and Cheese is a big hit.
- 10:41Speaker 7: Share the nuggets, share the joy, order the thirty count
- 10:43Speaker 7: Chick fil A Nuggets on the Chick fil A app.
- 10:45Speaker 11: Real guests pay for their testimonials.
- 10:47Speaker 12: This is your home for Aggie football, basketball and baseball.
- 10:51Speaker 12: The Zoo eleven fifty AM and ninety three point seven FM.
- 10:59Speaker 13: I was told my pack along the dusty win a
- 11:02Speaker 13: Mucca road. When along came a semi with the hind
- 11:07Speaker 13: canvas covered load. If you're going to win a Mucca
- 11:10Speaker 13: Mac with me, you can ride. And so I climbed
- 11:14Speaker 13: into the calb and then I settled down inside. He
- 11:19Speaker 13: asked me if I'd seen a road with so much
- 11:22Speaker 13: dust and sand, and I said, listen, I've traveled every
- 11:26Speaker 13: road in this Yearland. I've been everywhere, man, I've been everywhere.
- 11:32Speaker 13: Man cross the desert, spear man, I breathed the mountain
- 11:36Speaker 13: air man travel. I've had my share, man, I've been everywhere.
- 11:42Speaker 13: I've been to Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota, Buffalo, Toronto, Wins,
- 11:46Speaker 13: Little Sarasota, which you talked tools of Ottawa, Oklahoma, Tampa, Panama,
- 11:50Speaker 13: MADAWAA Bloma, Banga, Ball, Tomor, Salvadora, a Marilla, Tocapello, Barnquol
- 11:54Speaker 13: and Badela.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I'm a killer.
- 11:56Speaker 13: I've been everywhere.
- 11:57Speaker 1: John R. Cash, she has been every where. Thanks for
- 12:04Speaker 1: being with us. Tomorrow, Young Ryan will be in I
- 12:08Speaker 1: will visit with Kirk Bowles. Next Friday, Tony Catalina will
- 12:15Speaker 1: rejoin us to talk Aggie football. We will know Sunday
- 12:20Speaker 1: who they will play in the first round of the CFPS.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And I saw a projection today and that's if the
- 12:30Speaker 1: ends at six right, they would play Virginia and that
- 12:35Speaker 1: would be yes, Yes, So that would that would be
- 12:44Speaker 1: better than playing Notre Dame in the first round. Well, look,
- 12:50Speaker 1: if Alabama's gonna make it, as we talked about yesterday,
- 12:52Speaker 1: they're not going to keep Alabama out. They'd have to
- 12:56Speaker 1: sedate Greg Sankey if they did that, and there'd be
- 12:59Speaker 1: lawsuits and be ugly. I'd vote for that one. Bring
- 13:05Speaker 1: Alabama to Calefield because it ain't that good and it
- 13:09Speaker 1: will beat Alabama Callfield unless Ty Simpson goes crazy. Now
- 13:14Speaker 1: he's capable, but he hadn't done it now in about
- 13:17Speaker 1: five weeks. But He beat Auburn with three passes basically
- 13:22Speaker 1: last Saturday, and he can do that. And I'm not
- 13:28Speaker 1: saying I wouldn't rather play Virginia. Actually probably probably rather
- 13:32Speaker 1: play too Later or North Texas. But if it came
- 13:36Speaker 1: down to that, you have Virginia and then maybe Alabama. Okay.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Mike Kelkoke talked to the media yesterday was signing day.
- 13:46Speaker 1: He covered a lot of topics, including Colin Kleine. We're
- 13:50Speaker 1: gonna hear a part of what he had to say.
- 13:53Speaker 14: Coach, which what did the areas of need whether that
- 13:57Speaker 14: be a position, group or physical traits?
- 13:59Speaker 15: Do you think this class best.
- 14:01Speaker 16: Addresses Yeah, I think there's a balance to it. I
- 14:04Speaker 16: think that's the most important thing I think. So, you know,
- 14:07Speaker 16: if you look specifically defensive line. Last year, we were
- 14:09Speaker 16: very detackle heavy. We brought in three defensive tackles that
- 14:12Speaker 16: we feel really really good about. We only brought in
- 14:15Speaker 16: one edge and Marco. This year it goes the other way, right,
- 14:18Speaker 16: so we're able to go out and add three edges
- 14:21Speaker 16: and one inside guy, and so that if you look
- 14:23Speaker 16: at where we're at over a two year stretch, you
- 14:26Speaker 16: see a really strong balance. Same thing at wide out
- 14:30Speaker 16: you know, last year we bring in TK Norman and
- 14:32Speaker 16: Kelshawn Johnson, and there maybe on the smaller side, we
- 14:35Speaker 16: only bring in Jerome Miles as a big bodied and
- 14:38Speaker 16: now this year you turn around, you had a couple
- 14:40Speaker 16: more big bodied kids who have a little bit more
- 14:43Speaker 16: outside receiver flexibility.
- 14:44Speaker 15: And so I think you look at.
- 14:46Speaker 16: Just diversity within the class and then diversity from a
- 14:50Speaker 16: two year class cycle to make sure that you have
- 14:54Speaker 16: a variety of skill sets that you're continuing to add
- 14:57Speaker 16: into the program every year.
- 15:00Speaker 14: Coach will go the left for through a.
- 15:02Speaker 17: Rub how doy coach, So as you were given your
- 15:06Speaker 17: thank yous, it told me a lot about your character
- 15:11Speaker 17: and the fact that in today's coaching where coaches can
- 15:15Speaker 17: leave and it's no big deal and fans are just
- 15:17Speaker 17: cheering for a jersey, that you know how important it
- 15:21Speaker 17: is to have relationships. My two older sons were construction
- 15:25Speaker 17: science majors here at Texas A and M. One of
- 15:27Speaker 17: their professors told them that they needed to know the
- 15:29Speaker 17: janitor's game and how important it is to have relationships.
- 15:35Speaker 15: I know that you know that the biggest.
- 15:37Speaker 17: Part of recruiting people is building those relationships. So can
- 15:41Speaker 17: you just talk not only about how important it is
- 15:45Speaker 17: for everyone that is involved in making this happen, but
- 15:49Speaker 17: also how that kind of goes into your building relationships
- 15:52Speaker 17: with these recruits.
- 15:53Speaker 16: Yeah, I think nowadays you have an opportunity to shape
- 15:57Speaker 16: your program however you want. I want to build a
- 16:00Speaker 16: transactional program that is only about money, you can. If
- 16:04Speaker 16: you want to build a program that's very transient, you can.
- 16:08Speaker 16: But I also think if you want to build a
- 16:10Speaker 16: program that's built in substance and built in relationships, you can.
- 16:14Speaker 16: And I think that's what we're trying to do here
- 16:16Speaker 16: at Texas A and M. I believe this, and you
- 16:19Speaker 16: can't convince me otherwise that relationships still matter.
- 16:23Speaker 15: Value certainly matters. That's not lost on me.
- 16:26Speaker 16: That matters, in coach retention that matters, And who you
- 16:29Speaker 16: hire that matters, and who you recruit that will never change.
- 16:32Speaker 16: Nobody ever wants to go to a place where they
- 16:34Speaker 16: feel undervalued. But I do believe that if you provide
- 16:38Speaker 16: people the right value and the right environment and the
- 16:41Speaker 16: right opportunity to grow, that you can build a culture
- 16:45Speaker 16: that people want to be part of. And I think
- 16:47Speaker 16: we've been able to do that here at Texas A
- 16:49Speaker 16: and M. And I think that's something that has been
- 16:52Speaker 16: very critical to our success and something that I try
- 16:54Speaker 16: my hardest to protect at all times and certainly won't
- 16:58Speaker 16: ever be perfect with it, because there's a balancing act
- 17:01Speaker 16: when you.
- 17:02Speaker 15: Go through this to do it the right way.
- 17:03Speaker 16: But it's something that means a lot to me that
- 17:07Speaker 16: that people are picking Texas A and M for a
- 17:09Speaker 16: little bit more substance than just the dollar sign, that
- 17:12Speaker 16: there are real relationships, so that kids are wanting to
- 17:16Speaker 16: be part of the program and stay part of the program,
- 17:19Speaker 16: and that we can continue to build a culture that
- 17:21Speaker 16: will withstand the test of time.
- 17:23Speaker 18: Coach, We'll go all the way in the back Tyler, Coach,
- 17:27Speaker 18: you kind of went all over you in nine states
- 17:29Speaker 18: you said, or ten states to recruit, but still just
- 17:33Speaker 18: curious about the aria of Houston.
- 17:34Speaker 19: Kind of how important is it still to get those
- 17:37Speaker 19: Houston kids and kind of those guys in this class.
- 17:39Speaker 15: Yeah, I think it's critical.
- 17:40Speaker 16: I think you know, when you start up, when you
- 17:42Speaker 16: start recruiting, you always start inside out, and so for
- 17:45Speaker 16: obviously for us, the first inside out pieces is locally
- 17:49Speaker 16: just here in the Brazos Valley, and then the next
- 17:51Speaker 16: very obvious place you go, is Houston from a proximity
- 17:55Speaker 16: standpoint and a location standpoint, and it's probably the one
- 17:58Speaker 16: city where you would say we have the closest proximal
- 18:01Speaker 16: relationship to a lot of really talented players. And so
- 18:06Speaker 16: Houston has always been really important in Texas A and M.
- 18:08Speaker 16: It will continue to be really important in Texas.
- 18:11Speaker 15: A and M.
- 18:11Speaker 16: And I think that's the place we really start our
- 18:15Speaker 16: efforts every year, and then you go to Dallas, San
- 18:18Speaker 16: Antonio and you start expanding through the rest of Texas.
- 18:22Speaker 15: I think he's got to follow up. Well, yeah, just.
- 18:25Speaker 19: One of us as well. I know the timing is
- 18:27Speaker 19: kind of weird, but with the reports out today, callin
- 18:29Speaker 19: Kline just didn't know if that that was something that
- 18:34Speaker 19: you guys were anticipating. We're kind of your reaction to
- 18:37Speaker 19: kind of what that situation is like right now.
- 18:40Speaker 16: Yeah, I think it's probably not solidified in any way,
- 18:43Speaker 16: shape or form yet. Certainly the reports tend to proceed
- 18:49Speaker 16: the official notifications. But I think when you hire really
- 18:54Speaker 16: good people, opportunities like that will come. You appreciate that
- 18:58Speaker 16: people want to stay part of your program till the
- 19:00Speaker 16: next big opportunity for them comes. If we're doing this right,
- 19:05Speaker 16: it will be a piece of it, no different than
- 19:08Speaker 16: losing players to the NFL.
- 19:10Speaker 15: You'll lose coaches.
- 19:11Speaker 16: You'll lose position coaches to become coordinators, You'll lose coordinators
- 19:15Speaker 16: to become head coaches. I think what you're trying to
- 19:18Speaker 16: avoid at all cost is losing really valued assistance to
- 19:22Speaker 16: go be assistants at other programs, right, And that's not
- 19:25Speaker 16: this case. And so if it does turn out to
- 19:28Speaker 16: work out like the reports suggest, obviously it's a tremendous
- 19:31Speaker 16: opportunity for someone in our staff to take the next
- 19:33Speaker 16: step in their career. And I try to do everything
- 19:36Speaker 16: I can to support and help those endeavors.
- 19:39Speaker 20: We'll go next to Donna.
- 19:41Speaker 21: Coach you talked about Jayden Warren a little bit, and
- 19:44Speaker 21: earlier today, Coach Wiggins said that you feel like you're
- 19:47Speaker 21: getting a steal out of him. So just you know,
- 19:49Speaker 21: I know you talked about him a little bit, but
- 19:51Speaker 21: what stood out to you, especially that progression with his development.
- 19:56Speaker 16: Yeah, it's it's funny how you know those things get treated.
- 20:01Speaker 15: It's Carter's fault for all of it, because he's a.
- 20:04Speaker 16: Steal only because of you know this this arbitrary star
- 20:08Speaker 16: ranking that he has, we think he's phenomenal.
- 20:11Speaker 15: Like, so if that means he's a steal, that he's
- 20:13Speaker 15: a steal.
- 20:13Speaker 16: But for us, we think he's an absolute elite football player.
- 20:17Speaker 15: I think he's got electric speed.
- 20:20Speaker 16: When you talk about being over six to one and
- 20:22Speaker 16: being under ten two, like, there's you can count those
- 20:25Speaker 16: on one hand, how many of those that are out
- 20:27Speaker 16: there playing college football. He's got really good hands, he
- 20:31Speaker 16: plays the game really hard, really physical, and he's also
- 20:34Speaker 16: from a really really good family. And so when you
- 20:37Speaker 16: put all of that together, there's certainly a lot of
- 20:40Speaker 16: indicators that he's going to have.
- 20:42Speaker 15: A really successful career for us.
- 20:44Speaker 16: And so, you know, to whatever degree makes him a steal,
- 20:47Speaker 16: we think he's phenomenal.
- 20:49Speaker 21: And then to that coach truth, I was just a
- 20:51Speaker 21: kid in Carter, to that coach Troup kind of talking
- 20:55Speaker 21: about not just the talent level, but these kids being
- 20:58Speaker 21: able to come in and understand the work ethic, the
- 21:00Speaker 21: family aspect of this program. Just since you've been here
- 21:03Speaker 21: a couple of years now, how do you feel like
- 21:04Speaker 21: you've been able to kind of hammer that home with
- 21:07Speaker 21: the recruiting classes.
- 21:08Speaker 16: Yeah, I think your program and the culture of your
- 21:11Speaker 16: program attracts those kids into your program. And so, you know,
- 21:17Speaker 16: I'm not naive, you know, in what makes kids make
- 21:21Speaker 16: decisions right, there's a value proposition for sure. And then
- 21:25Speaker 16: there's a lot of time that gets spent on this
- 21:27Speaker 16: campus not around coaches, where players will tell them the truth.
- 21:32Speaker 16: They'll get a vibe for what the players are thinking.
- 21:34Speaker 16: They'll get a vibe for what the programs really like,
- 21:37Speaker 16: and kids are really finding out the answers to is
- 21:41Speaker 16: that the right program for me? And so in all
- 21:45Speaker 16: of those conversations that happen when the coaches aren't around,
- 21:49Speaker 16: who your locker room is, who your culture is, is
- 21:53Speaker 16: going to be the kind of the kids that you
- 21:54Speaker 16: attract into it. And so that's why it was so
- 21:57Speaker 16: important we felt like to build the right founda foundation
- 22:01Speaker 16: in the program because then what happens is is you
- 22:03Speaker 16: bring in all the best kids in the country who
- 22:06Speaker 16: want to be like that, you know, and so we had,
- 22:10Speaker 16: you know, the majority of the top kids in the
- 22:13Speaker 16: class show up on this campus.
- 22:14Speaker 15: At some point.
- 22:16Speaker 16: Sometimes it filters out because they just have a little
- 22:19Speaker 16: stronger instance and you know, interest in other programs. But
- 22:22Speaker 16: a lot of times it filters out because you know,
- 22:25Speaker 16: the ones who really want what we are gravitate to us.
- 22:30Speaker 15: And the ones that don't don't. And sometimes that's okay, Coach.
- 22:35Speaker 14: We'll go to the front, right, Travis.
- 22:37Speaker 20: And like, when it comes to Queen and kJ and
- 22:41Speaker 20: their recruitment in their particular instance, does it help at all?
- 22:45Speaker 20: They have two guys that at the same school and
- 22:48Speaker 20: that know each other like that, And what can you
- 22:50Speaker 20: talk about that recruiting process with with two guys who
- 22:53Speaker 20: know each other like that?
- 22:54Speaker 16: Yeah, it obviously makes it easier from a visit standpoint,
- 22:56Speaker 16: because you can kill two birds with one stone, but
- 22:59Speaker 16: you know they're set. You know, we made sure that
- 23:01Speaker 16: that's really important. You know, we didn't take one because
- 23:04Speaker 16: of the other. We didn't take two from one school
- 23:06Speaker 16: because it made it easier. We felt like WE was
- 23:09Speaker 16: an elite linebacker. We felt kJ was an elite back,
- 23:12Speaker 16: and they just happened to both be playing for a
- 23:14Speaker 16: really talented program in East Texas, which is an area
- 23:16Speaker 16: that's really important to us.
- 23:19Speaker 15: Obviously.
- 23:19Speaker 16: You know, when one commits, it always helps lean on
- 23:22Speaker 16: the other one because you know they're talking to each
- 23:24Speaker 16: other a lot more. You know, they can have a
- 23:27Speaker 16: lot of conversations with each other. It helps from a
- 23:30Speaker 16: familiarity standpoint to have two kids feel comfortable coming to
- 23:33Speaker 16: school together. But I also think it's important to recognize
- 23:38Speaker 16: that they're recruited as separate individuals and that they certainly
- 23:41Speaker 16: weren't considered a package deal in any way, shape or form.
- 23:44Speaker 20: And then just one quick point clarification with with Colin.
- 23:48Speaker 20: If he did that opportunity does present itself, would you
- 23:51Speaker 20: be still coach through the playoffs here?
- 23:53Speaker 16: Yeah, there's a lot that still has to be determined,
- 23:55Speaker 16: but that would be the expectation. Some of the early
- 23:57Speaker 16: conversations that we've had about opportunities like that have certainly
- 24:01Speaker 16: led to me believing that will be the case.
- 24:03Speaker 14: Coach to the left, second row, Alex, two full cycles
- 24:07Speaker 14: into being head coach here, just how do you feel
- 24:09Speaker 14: like from a roster building standpoint, you guys are where
- 24:12Speaker 14: you'd like between bringing in high school players and then
- 24:15Speaker 14: adding transfer portal additions. As you guys will start turning
- 24:19Speaker 14: to that here this next month.
- 24:20Speaker 16: Yeah, I still think that there's you know, holes get
- 24:24Speaker 16: left in rosters in transition. I don't think that can
- 24:27Speaker 16: ever get changed. You know, anytime there's a coaching transition,
- 24:31Speaker 16: there's going to be holes with you know, that class
- 24:34Speaker 16: that comes in which wasn't a very big class, that
- 24:36Speaker 16: was a quality class, but not a high quantity class.
- 24:39Speaker 16: You know some of the kids that decided to part.
- 24:41Speaker 16: And so I think we've done a really good job
- 24:44Speaker 16: in these two classes of putting together a really really
- 24:47Speaker 16: strong balance. I think there's there's something like fifty four
- 24:50Speaker 16: fifty six kids that have been signed in this two
- 24:52Speaker 16: year cycle that's going to add a really strong youth
- 24:56Speaker 16: development part of this program. We've got to make sure,
- 24:59Speaker 16: you know, and the transfer portal opens up in January,
- 25:01Speaker 16: that we had the balance of some of our immediate
- 25:04Speaker 16: needs that are going to need to get addressed, which
- 25:06Speaker 16: are where some of those holes exist in the program
- 25:09Speaker 16: still and then hopefully coming out of this cycle, I
- 25:13Speaker 16: think we've probably finally gotten to as we head into
- 25:16Speaker 16: next this time next year, it'll probably be the first okay,
- 25:20Speaker 16: like we've now kind of got this thing solidified to
- 25:24Speaker 16: where it really wants to be.
- 25:26Speaker 14: And just one more with Colin, just the last time
- 25:29Speaker 14: we talked with him, he said that he'd absolutely one
- 25:31Speaker 14: day loved to be a head coach. What have you
- 25:33Speaker 14: seen from him that he would be ready to be
- 25:35Speaker 14: a head coach, if now is the time for him.
- 25:37Speaker 15: Yeah, I think first of all, he's just a phenomenal person.
- 25:39Speaker 16: I think it starts there and because of that, and
- 25:42Speaker 16: then I think he's a phenomenal leader leader. He's a
- 25:45Speaker 16: really smart football coach. He's a really competitive guy. Certainly
- 25:50Speaker 16: have learned a lot from him. I think he would
- 25:52Speaker 16: tell you he's learned a lot from being here in
- 25:53Speaker 16: this program. You know, when you're around really good people,
- 25:58Speaker 16: at some point those opportunities are going to themselves.
- 26:01Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 1: That's Mike Elko on a variety of subjects, including Colin Kline,
- 26:05Speaker 1: which we have said repeatedly it was only a matter
- 26:08Speaker 1: of time. The guy's going to be a head coach,
- 26:10Speaker 1: and it's it's really cool to see the time and
- 26:13Speaker 1: so much of its timing. Man, I mean, it's just
- 26:16Speaker 1: you know, right time, right place, And for him, it
- 26:21Speaker 1: just could not have worked out better with Climbent stepping aside.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Don't know if he was asked to step aside to
- 26:28Speaker 1: make way for Colin Klein. I don't know that Climban
- 26:31Speaker 1: has been a pretty good coach at Kansas State. I
- 26:35Speaker 1: think he's you know, they had some issues this year
- 26:37Speaker 1: for sure. They were both eligible as you as we
- 26:42Speaker 1: mentioned a few minutes ago, they've elected not to go
- 26:45Speaker 1: to a bowl game. But I mean, what a terrific
- 26:49Speaker 1: opportunity for him. His family who's from the area, still
- 26:54Speaker 1: with family in the Manhattan area. So I think the
- 26:58Speaker 1: people up there are real excited to have him as
- 27:03Speaker 1: a head coach, and I think they should be. I
- 27:06Speaker 1: think he's going to be really good. But you know what,
- 27:10Speaker 1: you never know that until it happens. There's a lot
- 27:15Speaker 1: of a great assistant coaches that haven't made it as
- 27:18Speaker 1: head coach. It's a whole different deal. But he's had
- 27:22Speaker 1: some pretty good mentors. I think along the way he
- 27:26Speaker 1: is smart enough to learn not only how to do
- 27:30Speaker 1: things well, but from the mistakes that he saw made
- 27:33Speaker 1: as well.
- 27:35Speaker 3: So it's going to be interesting.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Kansas State has some money, maybe a little more than
- 27:42Speaker 1: you would think. But as I said, that first game
- 27:48Speaker 1: I was State in Ireland, you know, you looked at
- 27:50Speaker 1: those two teams who have historically been very good in
- 27:52Speaker 1: the Big Twelve, and I watched that game and I went, man,
- 27:55Speaker 1: where are all the athletes? They don't have the athletes
- 27:59Speaker 1: that they've had in past years, And you know that's
- 28:03Speaker 1: an nil deal. You know, that's just strictly an nil deal.
- 28:08Speaker 1: But hey, you're good enough, coach, you'll win in that league.
- 28:14Speaker 1: He should win, So we'll see what happens. Coming up,
- 28:20Speaker 1: We've got a high school report. We're going to do that.
- 28:23Speaker 1: We have got Jakari Lane from t A m U basketball,
- 28:30Speaker 1: the Aggies one at pitt They will be at s
- 28:34Speaker 1: m U Sunday afternoon. That's a four o'clock game on
- 28:38Speaker 1: the deuce from UT Arlington. I still need to make
- 28:45Speaker 1: that call and figure out why in the world are
- 28:47Speaker 1: they playing at UT Arlington. Does that mean like next
- 28:53Speaker 1: year they're going to host s m U and like snook,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like at the snook gym or blend.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't get that. You know, my friends at at

- 32:28Speaker 3: Book in the high school four warns.
- 32:30Speaker 27: And today we're going out to the Polaris Fond Center
- 32:32Speaker 27: film Line to visit with the head football coach of
- 32:34Speaker 27: the Brazis Christian Eagles, Jordan Black. Thanks for joining us.
- 32:37Speaker 3: How you doing today?
- 32:39Speaker 11: Good?
- 32:39Speaker 23: Happy to be here, Thanks for thanks for having me on.
- 32:41Speaker 27: Of course, you took the helm of the Brazis Christian
- 32:44Speaker 27: program this year. What expectations did you have coming in
- 32:47Speaker 27: and how did they change over time?
- 32:50Speaker 23: I try not to have my expectations like rooted and
- 32:54Speaker 23: wins and losses. I just kind of like to evaluate
- 32:57Speaker 23: the culture and not to say that the culture was
- 33:01Speaker 23: bad here it wasn't, but just to raise the bar
- 33:05Speaker 23: culturally on the on the football team. So a guy
- 33:09Speaker 23: that's gonna give me so much when I arrived, by
- 33:12Speaker 23: the time I'm gone, I want that same dude to
- 33:15Speaker 23: be able to to give me more, if that makes sense.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 33:18Speaker 27: Absolutely, And what were some of the biggest challenges transitioning
- 33:21Speaker 27: into this role and how do you think your experience
- 33:23Speaker 27: coming from Fort ben Christian Academy helped better ease you
- 33:26Speaker 27: into that transition.
- 33:28Speaker 23: Uh, I mean the biggest challenge just trying to get
- 33:33Speaker 23: a feel for some of the other teams that you're playing,
- 33:38Speaker 23: not being familiar with Division four. That was kind of
- 33:41Speaker 23: a challenge. But more than that was, you know, everybody
- 33:45Speaker 23: telling me like, oh, you lost your quarterback from the
- 33:48Speaker 23: previous year and what are you gonna do. The quarterback
- 33:52Speaker 23: that we have right now is it's pretty darn good
- 33:56Speaker 23: and I've been really impressed with him. But you know,
- 34:01Speaker 23: he's also a kid that had never started a game,
- 34:04Speaker 23: so there was a lot that went into developing him.
- 34:08Speaker 23: And my office of coordinator Shane byrd is done a
- 34:10Speaker 23: phenomenal job getting him ready to go. But we had
- 34:13Speaker 23: to cram in like four years of experience into the
- 34:18Speaker 23: summer and into early in the season to get him
- 34:22Speaker 23: ready to go. And he has really turned into a really,
- 34:25Speaker 23: really good quarterback.
- 34:27Speaker 27: And you've had a perfect run so far this season.
- 34:29Speaker 27: What edge do you think you've had over the competitors
- 34:32Speaker 27: that has made this so dominant?
- 34:35Speaker 23: Well, I like to tell the guys, I think I
- 34:38Speaker 23: think they're a lot meaner now than they were when
- 34:40Speaker 23: I got here, which is a good thing in football.
- 34:42Speaker 23: But you know, when I talk about them being mean,
- 34:46Speaker 23: it's just I want a team to be gritty. I
- 34:49Speaker 23: want them to have tenacity. I want them to play
- 34:54Speaker 23: it as a whistle and take advantage of every play
- 34:56Speaker 23: that they have, just giving their all.
- 35:02Speaker 27: And what are some areas you think the team could
- 35:05Speaker 27: use improvement despite the perfect record this season?
- 35:09Speaker 23: Oh man, I'm a coach. There's always areas of improvement,
- 35:14Speaker 23: I think, as far as I'm concerned as a coach,
- 35:18Speaker 23: I mean, we're going to take the basics and we're
- 35:20Speaker 23: always going to work fundamentals. We're going to continue to
- 35:25Speaker 23: develop plays that we're really good at. We're going to
- 35:28Speaker 23: continue to just try to be a well rounded football team.
- 35:33Speaker 23: So as far as I'm concerned, I approach every year
- 35:38Speaker 23: like everything needs improvement and make sure that we have
- 35:42Speaker 23: a good, solid base to build upon. So whether we
- 35:47Speaker 23: do something well or not this year is kind of irrelevant.
- 35:50Speaker 23: We're going to put it all back together and see
- 35:53Speaker 23: what happens next year.
- 35:55Speaker 27: Absolutely, And are there any players I know you talked
- 35:57Speaker 27: about the quarterback, but are there any players that you
- 35:59Speaker 27: like to give a shout out to anyone that really
- 36:01Speaker 27: stepped up this season and perhaps surprised you.
- 36:04Speaker 15: Well.
- 36:05Speaker 23: I mean number one is quarterback Hudson. He's done an
- 36:09Speaker 23: incredible job and I mean he's got the ability to
- 36:11Speaker 23: play at the next level. It'll be interesting to see
- 36:14Speaker 23: what happens with him. But my senior ors have done
- 36:18Speaker 23: a phenomenal job. Micah Sachs at receivers, had a great year,
- 36:22Speaker 23: Grant Bame at left tackle, who's had had a phenomenal year.
- 36:28Speaker 23: You know, one of our defensive tackles, Jackson Burnt. I
- 36:33Speaker 23: don't think anybody ever expected him to be the player
- 36:36Speaker 23: that he's turned into. But I'm really proud, really proud
- 36:39Speaker 23: of what he's been able to do. And you know,
- 36:41Speaker 23: other than that, we've got brought in a new kid,
- 36:44Speaker 23: Carson Ramsey, who's had a phenomenal year, hasn't had any
- 36:49Speaker 23: football experience, and you know, he's one of the one
- 36:52Speaker 23: of the best athletes in TAPS football. In my opinion.
- 36:59Speaker 23: My son has had a great year, Hunter Black at
- 37:01Speaker 23: defensive end. Katee Bird, which is coach Bird's son, He's
- 37:07Speaker 23: had a good year at receiver. But I mean, I
- 37:12Speaker 23: feel like I need to call out the whole team,
- 37:16Speaker 23: because they've just all they've been great, and I'm so
- 37:19Speaker 23: incredibly proud of what they've accomplished. And you know, I'm
- 37:25Speaker 23: sad to see the seniors go, but I'm also really
- 37:27Speaker 23: excited for this junior class next year to see what
- 37:30Speaker 23: they're capable of.
- 37:31Speaker 27: Absolutely, that's awesome. And I would say many high school
- 37:35Speaker 27: coaches don't have the kind of experience you have. You
- 37:37Speaker 27: have played at the highest level of the game as
- 37:39Speaker 27: an offensive tackle, and that's kind of difficult to account
- 37:41Speaker 27: for when assessing coaching skill. How do you think that
- 37:44Speaker 27: experience has added or perhaps taken away from your ability
- 37:46Speaker 27: to coach in general but also at a high school level.
- 37:49Speaker 23: Well, I tell you, when I first became a head coach,
- 37:53Speaker 23: one of the interesting things about it, in my opinion,
- 37:57Speaker 23: was that I felt like I was coaching less than
- 38:00Speaker 23: I used to because there's so much other stuff that
- 38:03Speaker 23: you got to deal with, parents, politics, you know, stuff
- 38:07Speaker 23: like that. So in a sense, being a head football coach, yeah, sure,
- 38:13Speaker 23: there's some x's and o's there, but a big part
- 38:17Speaker 23: of it is culture and just making sure you stay
- 38:22Speaker 23: consistent in your expectations that you have of the kids.
- 38:26Speaker 3: If that makes sense, Yeah, totally.
- 38:29Speaker 27: And there's someone with's such a depth of experience with
- 38:32Speaker 27: the game. What are things that you do to keep
- 38:35Speaker 27: learning and keep evolving as the game evolves, like as
- 38:38Speaker 27: exercise science evolves, or just the speed at which the
- 38:41Speaker 27: game is played at that level. Do you find that
- 38:43Speaker 27: your experiences make it harder or easier to do that?
- 38:49Speaker 23: Well, I think I don't know one way or the other
- 38:52Speaker 23: if it makes it easier or harder. I just tried
- 38:56Speaker 23: to as far as the ball is concerned. I mean,
- 39:00Speaker 23: you know, whether it's going to clinics, whether it's talking
- 39:03Speaker 23: to other people getting their take, spending time with other
- 39:07Speaker 23: coaches that have been in it for a long time.
- 39:10Speaker 23: You know, I want to use the wisdom that I
- 39:12Speaker 23: can gain from from not just other coaches but other players.
- 39:16Speaker 23: And you know, we get to watch college football on
- 39:20Speaker 23: Saturdays and pro football on Sundays, and there's a whole
- 39:23Speaker 23: lot that you can pick up, and you know, I
- 39:27Speaker 23: just think it's my obligation to make sure, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 23: I'm as well read as possible in terms of you know,
- 39:38Speaker 23: what can I apply to this team and what's going
- 39:40Speaker 23: to be productive for us?
- 39:41Speaker 3: Yeah? For sure.
- 39:43Speaker 27: And you face first Baptist for the championship game this week.
- 39:46Speaker 27: They're a strong competitor with a strong record. What are
- 39:48Speaker 27: you expecting out of them and how do you think
- 39:50Speaker 27: your play styles will clash on the field.
- 39:54Speaker 23: I expect it to be a good game. I'm never
- 39:57Speaker 23: going to go into a game and not expect to win.
- 40:00Speaker 23: I mean, we're going to go out, we're going to compete,
- 40:03Speaker 23: We're going to play hard, and we'll see how it
- 40:09Speaker 23: pans out. They've got a very talented group, They've got
- 40:13Speaker 23: a lot of athletes. You know, obviously they beat us
- 40:17Speaker 23: pretty good last year. I think I think this year
- 40:21Speaker 23: is a good matchup. And yeah, we'll find out on
- 40:28Speaker 23: Saturday what happens.
- 40:31Speaker 27: And last question for you here, coach, regardless of the
- 40:34Speaker 27: outcome this weekend, where do you hope to take this
- 40:35Speaker 27: program the next three to five years, both on and
- 40:38Speaker 27: off the field, and how do you measure that growth
- 40:40Speaker 27: besides just wins and losses.
- 40:45Speaker 23: As a coach, I want the young men that I
- 40:50Speaker 23: coach to grow up and be real men. I want
- 40:54Speaker 23: them I want them to be courageous. I want them
- 40:59Speaker 23: to have integrity. I want them to protect women. I
- 41:04Speaker 23: want them to be responsible, and I want them to
- 41:09Speaker 23: be the type of people that circumstances are never going
- 41:12Speaker 23: to dictate what their attitude is. As a matter of fact,
- 41:15Speaker 23: I want their attitude to dictate what their circumstance is.
- 41:20Speaker 23: So if we can capitalize on all the character lessons
- 41:26Speaker 23: that you can learn playing the game of football, I
- 41:31Speaker 23: think that a successful season is how many men are
- 41:36Speaker 23: we generating here that are going to go out and
- 41:38Speaker 23: be productive members of society, that are going to do
- 41:44Speaker 23: the right thing, that are going to work hard. Things
- 41:47Speaker 23: like that.
- 41:48Speaker 27: Absolutely, very well put, coach, Thank you so much.
- 41:50Speaker 3: For your time.
- 41:52Speaker 23: Absolutely appreciate it.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Yes, sir.

- 44:07Speaker 1: but none of them have to do with the home
- 44:10Speaker 1: gym and that. I'm sure there's all kinds of reasons
- 44:15Speaker 1: for that, mostly monetary, but I still want to know
- 44:21Speaker 1: if they have a like a return game with SMU.
- 44:26Speaker 1: And again, I didn't talk to the people at snook.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I'm just offering up the gym. I think it would
- 44:33Speaker 1: be a really nice atmosphere out there.
- 44:36Speaker 15: All right.

- 48:22Speaker 1: reporters a little earlier this afternoon.
- 48:25Speaker 3: A three game stretch here on the road.
- 48:27Speaker 28: Here you guys doing on that stretch, how'd you feel?
- 48:30Speaker 34: How you guys playing and what's the feeling you're going
- 48:32Speaker 34: to move on.
- 48:33Speaker 35: It definitely feel great, but like like coach said, you know,
- 48:36Speaker 35: take these games, you know, celebrate the wins, but also
- 48:39Speaker 35: also know that we got to a quick ton arounds
- 48:41Speaker 35: and I think we're doing a great job just taking
- 48:43Speaker 35: it one game at a time and that's what's leading
- 48:44Speaker 35: to the success.
- 48:45Speaker 34: We have a lot of ups and downs in that
- 48:47Speaker 34: second half of pitch, Just what would you feel like
- 48:49Speaker 34: you really learned about your team being able to overcome
- 48:52Speaker 34: that that drive star and.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Be able to win.
- 48:55Speaker 35: It just shows you, like how connected we are as
- 48:57Speaker 35: a team, and that shows you like the connection that
- 48:59Speaker 35: this team and do over the past couple of months
- 49:01Speaker 35: that we've been here. Coach said, it's gonna be hard
- 49:04Speaker 35: to play. It's hard to play a pick. It's a
- 49:05Speaker 35: tough environment. But that just shows you, like how Jill
- 49:08Speaker 35: then we is and how connected we are. We stick
- 49:09Speaker 35: to we stick together during the adversity and we came
- 49:12Speaker 35: out on top.
- 49:12Speaker 24: How encouraging it's is to have people coming back and
- 49:15Speaker 24: really play together and you didn't be at fours from again.
- 49:18Speaker 35: Uh it It definitely feels great cause I know down
- 49:21Speaker 35: the street it's gonna be that's not the that's not
- 49:22Speaker 35: gonna be the first game that we have, Like, there's
- 49:24Speaker 35: gonna be more games that were gonna have to come together,
- 49:26Speaker 35: stick together throughout the whole game, cause it's gonna be,
- 49:28Speaker 35: like Coach said, it's a game of run, So we
- 49:30Speaker 35: gonna need everybody stick together and then also had their
- 49:32Speaker 35: energy to come out on top.
- 49:34Speaker 34: What did you just seen from Ruben these last few games?
- 49:36Speaker 34: And just the way that he's shooting the ball right now?
- 49:38Speaker 3: Uh, it's crazy?
- 49:39Speaker 35: Uh man, Ruby shoot the ball like that every day
- 49:41Speaker 35: in practice. It's some size that he shoot. I'm I'm
- 49:44Speaker 35: during this fail, I'm like, dang, how do you make that?
- 49:46Speaker 3: But you know that's what he do, so we we
- 49:48Speaker 3: kind of used to it.
- 49:49Speaker 34: What's been your biggest funny curve.
- 49:52Speaker 3: As far as like que elaborate on that.
- 49:54Speaker 31: Uh, just you know, like what you're going so far?
- 49:57Speaker 34: You know, uh what what's I think the biggest thing
- 50:01Speaker 34: that you've learned through all these games so far?
- 50:04Speaker 35: I'll say just just being just being more ready than
- 50:08Speaker 35: ever when your when your numbers called. You never know
- 50:10Speaker 35: when when your number gonna be called, So I'll say
- 50:13Speaker 35: just being more ready when your numbers called.
- 50:14Speaker 34: Coach you said that, do you think, say y'all time
- 50:16Speaker 34: YaST Moja, what do you think about that?
- 50:19Speaker 19: Oh?
- 50:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I definitely agree with 'em.
- 50:20Speaker 35: We definitely found our mojo, but we not We not
- 50:22Speaker 35: close to where we where we exactly wanna be, but
- 50:24Speaker 35: we're getting there and like I said, we taking it
- 50:26Speaker 35: one game at a time.
- 50:27Speaker 26: A h oh, you got it?
- 50:28Speaker 34: Are you good here?
- 50:29Speaker 32: For?
- 50:30Speaker 24: How beneficial is it that happened just three game stretch
- 50:33Speaker 24: on the road away from me a SEC opponents? How
- 50:36Speaker 24: do you think that'll prepare y'all for a COMMENTS play
- 50:38Speaker 24: for another month?
- 50:40Speaker 20: M it.
- 50:40Speaker 35: It's definitely beneficial, just being on being on the road
- 50:43Speaker 35: and tough environments like Pitt.
- 50:45Speaker 3: You know we go down and play SMU.
- 50:47Speaker 35: I know it's not at the home court Nutri site,
- 50:48Speaker 35: but still just going on the road, having that that
- 50:52Speaker 35: tough environment playing and getting us ready for SEC plays.
- 50:54Speaker 3: So I definitely feel like.
- 50:55Speaker 35: It's it's gonna help this team and uh get us
- 50:57Speaker 35: better going into the SEC play.
- 51:00Speaker 34: Do you get a little banged up during that game
- 51:01Speaker 34: or just how you killing him?
- 51:02Speaker 15: Uh?
- 51:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I went up for a layup.
- 51:04Speaker 35: I don't know if he landed on my leg or what,
- 51:05Speaker 35: But yesterday I came in got him Asiage got his
- 51:07Speaker 35: treatment for it.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Now it's back. I'm ready for practicing. Do you know
- 51:10Speaker 3: anything about us soon you yet?
- 51:11Speaker 34: Have you guys looked at them at all?
- 51:14Speaker 3: I watched a little bit of him last night that
- 51:15Speaker 3: they definitely a tough team. But you know, I'm ready,
- 51:18Speaker 3: I'm ready for the game.
- 51:19Speaker 34: Help too, that you guys might play Vanderbilt here a
- 51:21Speaker 34: lot later in the season as well.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Ah yeah, yes, sir, yes, sir? Uh like RI talk Boutra.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Shawn back to back double doubles here?
- 51:27Speaker 3: What what's the what's his play being? Like, what's his leaderships?
- 51:31Speaker 1: I've been like and just how rested to see him
- 51:33Speaker 1: played lest students.
- 51:35Speaker 35: It's it's amazing the Ray Shawn's like on the ex
- 51:37Speaker 35: the X factor of this team. So once Ray Shawn's
- 51:39Speaker 35: playing good and being uh being the leader out there
- 51:41Speaker 35: is the whole team calling r uh rally around that.
- 51:43Speaker 35: So if he's playing like how he is, then we're
- 51:45Speaker 35: we're gonna be great going forward.
- 51:47Speaker 6: Yeah, And like, do you tal you guys obviously coming
- 51:49Speaker 6: together and meshing what's his energy?
- 51:50Speaker 23: Like?
- 51:50Speaker 1: Is you guys have really kind of feed off of that?
- 51:52Speaker 28: Is that kind of help you guys as a leader, Like, what,
- 51:54Speaker 28: how have you guys.
- 51:55Speaker 24: Been in middle to feed off of that?
- 51:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 51:57Speaker 35: Most definitely ray Saan He's a he's always the guy
- 51:59Speaker 35: that just bring me in it g Like he's just
- 52:00Speaker 35: electric kind of a pre game he's he's screaming and
- 52:03Speaker 35: bumping into everybody and everybody's just.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Kind of feeding off there.
- 52:06Speaker 35: So it's definitely it's definitely been great for our team
- 52:08Speaker 35: and that's why we have success.
- 52:09Speaker 6: Kind of building off of that.
- 52:10Speaker 24: How is his energy really kind of day in day out,
- 52:13Speaker 24: not just in the game, but are practicing off the court?
- 52:15Speaker 31: How does that help them?
- 52:18Speaker 3: It?
- 52:19Speaker 16: It?
- 52:19Speaker 35: It was in a good way, cause, like I said, uh,
- 52:21Speaker 35: every everybody feed off there, and ray Sean is a.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Day in and day out guy.
- 52:25Speaker 35: He brings the every damn practice and that kind of
- 52:27Speaker 35: feed off the uh other guys like me, Ru Ruben Rolin,
- 52:31Speaker 35: Pop all the other guys.
- 52:32Speaker 3: So it definitely helps our team.
- 52:34Speaker 34: Only one game at full strength, so obviously kind of
- 52:36Speaker 34: a small sample size, but just what did you see
- 52:38Speaker 34: the biggest benefit of having everyone available was in that game.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Gets picked just it it shows our depth.
- 52:45Speaker 35: We were able to you know, guard and get a lot
- 52:47Speaker 35: of turnovers and stuff. Like that, But like I said,
- 52:49Speaker 35: we're not close to where we wanna be, and we
- 52:51Speaker 35: gonna keep getting better going for it. Like you said,
- 52:53Speaker 35: we have four strength now and hopefully we can go
- 52:55Speaker 35: out here Sunday and get this with w better rebuild.
- 52:58Speaker 34: Talk to you all about kind of fit all?
- 53:01Speaker 35: Uh, we you know, it's just like it's co it's
- 53:04Speaker 35: very cold out there.
- 53:04Speaker 3: That's how it's a.
- 53:08Speaker 34: You know what, what how would you maybe e s
- 53:11Speaker 34: how would you describe the mojo of this team as
- 53:13Speaker 34: it stands right now?
- 53:16Speaker 35: I I think we're in a good spot, but like
- 53:19Speaker 35: I said, it's just so our ceilings just so much higher,
- 53:21Speaker 35: and like and I said, as we going forward, we
- 53:23Speaker 35: just gonna keep getting better and better. Uh, the chemistry
- 53:25Speaker 35: is already there. I feel like it could be a
- 53:27Speaker 35: little bit better, but like I said, moving forward, we're
- 53:29Speaker 35: gonna get better.
- 53:30Speaker 3: To that point.
- 53:30Speaker 34: Then, what are some of the big things that you
- 53:32Speaker 34: guys are still trying to improve on this y'all get
- 53:35Speaker 34: into December.
- 53:37Speaker 35: Definitely like communication on the defensive end. You know, we
- 53:40Speaker 35: have spurts where we have like mislaps on defense, but
- 53:42Speaker 35: it's like easy, easy things that can be just communicating
- 53:45Speaker 35: and stuff like that. So definitely communication similar to.
- 53:47Speaker 14: That, Uh, you know how demanding Bucky ballism both of course,
- 53:51Speaker 14: how coach do you guys think you are to being
- 53:53Speaker 14: like exactly what coach wants you to be or what
- 53:55Speaker 14: this team can be.
- 53:57Speaker 35: Uh, from the summer to now, definitely we we definitely
- 53:59Speaker 35: pretty clear. And I'm excited to just see this team
- 54:02Speaker 35: just keep growing and growing and Bookies just emphasize defense
- 54:05Speaker 35: so much. And I think were kind of coming together
- 54:07Speaker 35: on the.
- 54:07Speaker 3: End of the floor.
- 54:09Speaker 34: So when do you think is the ceiling of this team?
- 54:10Speaker 34: I know obviously a long way Togo, But what do
- 54:12Speaker 34: you think could be the ceiling of this team?
- 54:15Speaker 3: Man?
- 54:15Speaker 35: Where it can't even describe, but I know it's a
- 54:18Speaker 35: high ceiling right now.
