- 0:06Speaker 1: I'm bad bitches. I hope you had the merriest of
- 0:10Speaker 1: merry Christmases. I hope you had a fantastic New Year.
- 0:15Speaker 1: We're just going into it, Jess. How was your New Year?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hello?
- 0:21Speaker 3: It was good.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Kyle and I were to bed by eight thirty.
- 0:25Speaker 1: You didn't even make it into the New Year.
- 0:27Speaker 2: No, I mean I made it into the new year
- 0:30Speaker 2: the next morning. I said Happy twenty twenty two the
- 0:33Speaker 2: next morning. But that's about it.
- 0:35Speaker 1: How is yours? Because I saw it? You went out.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We did well out. I mean we went to Jackson Britney's.
- 0:41Speaker 1: We arrived at five so that the babies could play
- 0:44Speaker 1: more like sex, so the babies could play. Hartford is
- 0:48Speaker 1: like fully mobile, walking all over the place. Oh my god.
- 0:51Speaker 1: It was so cute though, because it was like Brittany
- 0:54Speaker 1: was going to get ready and she was like, who's
- 0:55Speaker 1: gonna watch Cruise while I'm getting ready? Because Jackson was
- 0:57Speaker 1: trying to get the food all organized, and it was
- 0:59Speaker 1: like everyone was helping with everyone's kid. And then Stocy
- 1:04Speaker 1: tore her tights, so she was changing her tights and
- 1:06Speaker 1: Bo was trying to help Jack's and Bo was like, la, la,
- 1:09Speaker 1: can you grab hart Ferd She's like playing in the
- 1:12Speaker 1: dog's water dish.
- 1:14Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It's just like really really cute and fun. And we
- 1:19Speaker 1: did make it to midnight. We left Jackson Brittany's before midnight.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Ocean was dead a sleep by eight o'clock, but I
- 1:28Speaker 1: had to wake her up to transport her back home,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and she made it until midnight.
- 1:32Speaker 2: She did, so you made it to midnight here at
- 1:35Speaker 2: the house.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yes, I was like walking up the stairs to put
- 1:38Speaker 1: Ocean to bed.
- 1:39Speaker 2: That's so exciting.
- 1:41Speaker 1: We looked at hers and I said, Happy New Year.
- 1:43Speaker 2: My love, that's so cute.
- 1:46Speaker 1: So cute.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Do the babies because I saw a video on your
- 1:50Speaker 2: Instagram which was hilarious. But when you sit the babies
- 1:53Speaker 2: next to each other, do they like play together?
- 1:56Speaker 1: They do? Oh okay, it's more like fighting over the toy,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you know, like Cruise ripped Ocean's head. That's what I saw,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and I was like, hilarious. But you know, the I'm
- 2:12Speaker 1: telling you what, Cruise is the chillest baby in the world.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Like when we were leaving at like eleven thirty, Cruise
- 2:21Speaker 1: was still awake, really doesn't fuss, like he's full on
- 2:26Speaker 1: super baby.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Oh my god, like still awake hadn't napped, was just
- 2:30Speaker 2: up with the adults.
- 2:31Speaker 1: He was wanting to be a part of all of it.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Oh that's cute. It was cute. I love that. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: was like ocean. If I kept her up, would be screaming,
- 2:41Speaker 1: bloody murder right right. She has no patience, no tolerance.
- 2:45Speaker 1: When it's time for bed, she lets you know. But
- 2:47Speaker 1: also its.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Same, same, same my reaction to me too.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So it was just like I had a fantastic holiday
- 2:55Speaker 1: and I slid in to a man's DM for the
- 3:01Speaker 1: first time since I was like twenty three.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Stop it, Yes, I did.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Hold on?
- 3:07Speaker 2: How did that feel?
- 3:08Speaker 3: How did that feel?
- 3:09Speaker 1: You know? It felt strange because I don't slide in
- 3:12Speaker 1: the DM like I slid in the DM when I
- 3:14Speaker 1: was like drinking right and like young. But I haven't
- 3:18Speaker 1: slid in the DM, and I don't even know if
- 3:20Speaker 1: I have game anymore.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sure you do. How much can you
- 3:26Speaker 2: tell us about what made you do that? And then
- 3:30Speaker 2: how it's going?
- 3:32Speaker 1: So the great thing about it is I'm obviously just
- 3:37Speaker 1: in this zone of like I got my baby, I
- 3:40Speaker 1: want to work really hard and create an empire for
- 3:43Speaker 1: the give them Lailah brand. So my expectations are very low.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Like I'm just looking to like sit and have a
- 3:51Speaker 1: conversation and like, like I said, I don't have any
- 3:55Speaker 1: expectations with it, but it went well, like my DM
- 4:01Speaker 1: cherry and just talking to a man. Yeah, who's not
- 4:06Speaker 1: my previous relationship. It's just like this is fun and
- 4:10Speaker 1: obviously I have a little bit game left if like
- 4:13Speaker 1: there's communication happening.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So you got a response?
- 4:16Speaker 1: I got a response?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Huge.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'll be honest, jess what my first DM, the initial
- 4:25Speaker 1: one was just emojis and not even anything sexy, like,
- 4:28Speaker 1: not even anything hot.
- 4:31Speaker 2: That's funny, That's how do you respond to that? Do
- 4:35Speaker 2: you just like it or something?
- 4:36Speaker 4: Well?
- 4:36Speaker 1: He did? He responded, We like sparked a conversation. But
- 4:41Speaker 1: I was like, what does one say in someone's DM?
- 4:45Speaker 1: By the way, for my listeners, my people, let me
- 4:49Speaker 1: know please call in to one eight six six la
- 4:52Speaker 1: la pad and let me know how to get game back. Yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and like what should an initial DM be like? Because
- 5:00Speaker 1: I think it's different. It's like, are you looking for
- 5:02Speaker 1: a relationship? Are you looking for a booty call? Because
- 5:05Speaker 1: it's very different. What are you looking for with this
- 5:08Speaker 1: initial DM?
- 5:09Speaker 3: Right?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Who the fuck knows.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's huge. I that's how Kyle and I.
- 5:15Speaker 2: It was on Facebook. So that's embarrassing because it was
- 5:18Speaker 2: years ago.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Wait before ig No, it was on Instagram even come
- 5:22Speaker 1: to be a long time ago, right.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Right, It wasn't before Instagram, but it was when Facebook.
- 5:27Speaker 2: It was like actually six years ago. It was when
- 5:29Speaker 2: Facebook was still active.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Kind of Facebook classier than Instagram, No, I don't think so.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So I think Facebook is like more ancient, Like like
- 5:41Speaker 2: I if I'm in a DM my aunt or uncle
- 5:43Speaker 2: or like grandma, I use Facebook. If you slid in
- 5:47Speaker 2: someone's Facebook dms, now, I feel like they'd be like,
- 5:50Speaker 2: they'd not they if they saw it, they wouldn't respond
- 5:52Speaker 2: because that's just like, what are you eighty years old?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Is that messenger?
- 5:57Speaker 3: Yes?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Okay, so I actually just discovered that that existed and
- 6:00Speaker 1: I downloaded. I was like what is this? And I
- 6:02Speaker 1: downloaded and I had so many messages messages from the
- 6:07Speaker 1: Facebook Messenger, and I was like, what is it?
- 6:08Speaker 3: What is this?
- 6:09Speaker 4: Even?
- 6:10Speaker 3: Dude?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Like what I don't I don't know, I don't know.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I'm thirty one and I act like I'm ninety as
- 6:15Speaker 1: if I like just arrived on Earth, and I'm like,
- 6:17Speaker 1: what is all this that's changed? It's like, while I
- 6:21Speaker 1: You've been a part of this for a long time. Yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 1: where have I been though? I know, watching housewives? Obviously
- 6:27Speaker 1: watching Housewives.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Well congrats, because this this is a story that we
- 6:31Speaker 2: will we will check in on.
- 6:33Speaker 4: You know.
- 6:34Speaker 1: It has less to do with the dude and more
- 6:35Speaker 1: to do with the fact that I repopped my DM
- 6:38Speaker 1: cherry and I think that is something to celebrate. I'm
- 6:41Speaker 1: about to pop some Starla non alcoholic wine after this podcast.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Tell yes, maybe during Lisa, why don't you get on that. Mom,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'm being serious, I get off your ass. I'm just kidding,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but really, Okay, So before we get this pop in,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I want to remind everybody that my soon to be empire,
- 7:05Speaker 1: Give Them Lala is going on tour. That's what's up.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Give them Lalla. The brand new tour. Tickets are available now.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Just slide onto my Instagram page, click the link, or
- 7:20Speaker 1: just go to give Them live dot com to buy
- 7:22Speaker 1: your tickets. We are kicking off the tour in Irvine, California.
- 7:26Speaker 1: We're then going to Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater, Orlando, Atlanta. I
- 7:32Speaker 1: call it Hotlanta. Yes, yes, baby, Nashville, New Orleans, Houston, Austin,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and we will wrap it up in Dallas, Texas. And
- 7:41Speaker 1: I can't wait, Like, let me know what you would
- 7:44Speaker 1: like to see, because this is a night where like
- 7:46Speaker 1: we're vibing, this is like a hangout, so it's about y'all. Really,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I agree that where we go. I agree. Did you
- 7:55Speaker 1: see that some people think you agree with me too much?
- 7:57Speaker 2: You guys, lala, let me just tell you something. You
- 8:00Speaker 2: are the most inspirational woman.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Listen to me.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Okay, I was joking there, but I actually do think
- 8:07Speaker 2: you are.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Here's the thing.
- 8:08Speaker 1: What type of person is Like, I'm going to get
- 8:11Speaker 1: me an assistant who disagrees with me all the time.
- 8:15Speaker 1: We're not on the same page, and she most of
- 8:17Speaker 1: the time thinks I'm a piece of shit.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I know, I know, I know, and you know it's
- 8:21Speaker 2: funny too. I'm I'm a words of affirmation person, but
- 8:25Speaker 2: it's very important to all my words of affirmation people
- 8:28Speaker 2: out there. Your love language, if that's how you show
- 8:30Speaker 2: it is to be genuine with it and your words
- 8:33Speaker 2: are real, because if you're words of affirmation person and
- 8:36Speaker 2: you just say things that are false, then you're just
- 8:38Speaker 2: a liar, So I never do that, and the things
- 8:40Speaker 2: I say to you are genuine and real. But I
- 8:44Speaker 2: do understand, I mean, just because of what some family
- 8:47Speaker 2: and friends of said to me that it can get
- 8:50Speaker 2: a little obnoxious and annoying. And I hear you people,
- 8:55Speaker 2: and I might tone it down.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Just a little in all fairness. You started co hosting
- 9:00Speaker 1: this podcast with me in the I want to say
- 9:06Speaker 1: it should have been the darkest time of my life, right,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I actually think it was like a very bright time
- 9:10Speaker 1: in my life. But you started co hosting with me,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and I needed to hear what you were saying, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: like when someone's down in the dumps, not the time
- 9:19Speaker 1: to be disagreeing with me.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah you know, yeah, of course put.
- 9:22Speaker 1: On your kiss ass hat and start to smooch it.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And I saw it, I need it, and like, to
- 9:28Speaker 2: my credit to now kiss my own ass. I saw
- 9:34Speaker 2: Lalla go through a lot and the things I were
- 9:37Speaker 2: saying all very true. But I do understand when I,
- 9:41Speaker 2: you know, you take a step back. The listeners did
- 9:43Speaker 2: not see a lot of that. The listeners did not
- 9:46Speaker 2: know a lot of what was going on. So I
- 9:48Speaker 2: was saying things and complimenting you and I think, you know,
- 9:52Speaker 2: they still don't know a lot that's going on, and
- 9:54Speaker 2: that's that's for reasons of you know, your choice. But
- 9:58Speaker 2: I think I was compl amending you and saying a
- 10:00Speaker 2: lot of things that I felt and I believed, where
- 10:02Speaker 2: maybe some people would think, what is going on? Why
- 10:07Speaker 2: she like praising her twenty four to seven whatever? But anyway,
- 10:11Speaker 2: I still let me. Let me, let me set this straight.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I don't disagree with anything I said. Everything I said
- 10:17Speaker 2: it was genuine, but I do I can take a
- 10:19Speaker 2: step back and say and see how it could be
- 10:22Speaker 2: a little obnoxious and I'm gonna tone it down.
- 10:24Speaker 1: But I but I love you, Lala, I love you too,
- 10:26Speaker 1: jess And Jessica does disagree with me. The only difference
- 10:29Speaker 1: is her disagreement is not vocal, like I'll present something
- 10:32Speaker 1: that I think, like if if the listener is gonna
- 10:35Speaker 1: be in the room when you disagree, it's the facial
- 10:37Speaker 1: expression where I'm like, just thinks this is stupid.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Or I've been like I like to disagree in a
- 10:43Speaker 2: way where I present another solution.
- 10:45Speaker 1: So there it is, yes, And that's why that was
- 10:48Speaker 1: another reason why I hired you, oh during your interview,
- 10:50Speaker 1: because you talked about solutions, solutions.
- 10:53Speaker 2: If I hear you say something, if Lala says something
- 10:56Speaker 2: to me and I don't agree, I'm not like, no,
- 10:58Speaker 2: that's dumb. And to feedback, I'm gonna say, Okay, I
- 11:02Speaker 2: hear you, but what about And I just think that's
- 11:05Speaker 2: the most constructive you guys, That's just how I live
- 11:07Speaker 2: my life. I do it with my boyfriend, I do
- 11:09Speaker 2: with my parents, my family, and that's just how I live.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And I'm thirty and I feel good living that way.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You should. You're a good person, good to your core,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and I am honored to have you in my world.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Let's get some voicemails to rolland.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Hi, La La. This is Bet me from a small
- 11:25Speaker 5: town in southern Illinois. My question for you today is
- 11:30Speaker 5: are you writing another book? I write your first one.
- 11:34Speaker 5: I write it in two days. I keep it next
- 11:36Speaker 5: to my nineteen.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Just in case I every evening with them.
- 11:39Speaker 5: I can go back to certain pages I have marked
- 11:41Speaker 5: down and after everything you're currently going through, saying a
- 11:45Speaker 5: strong mama and being the beautiful person that you are
- 11:49Speaker 5: in the inspiration you are to everybody, if you would
- 11:52Speaker 5: be writing another book sometimes soon and kind of your journey,
- 11:55Speaker 5: your new journey of life. So I love you and
- 11:58Speaker 5: thank you for just giving everybody inspiration and being you know,
- 12:03Speaker 5: the best mom to ocean.
- 12:04Speaker 7: It's so inspiring.
- 12:05Speaker 5: You're so strong, and just know it does not go
- 12:07Speaker 5: on notice.
- 12:07Speaker 4: So love you, Bye, Bethany.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I want to hug you. That was so sweet. And
- 12:15Speaker 1: I love when people say that they read my book fast,
- 12:17Speaker 1: because I'm like, I want to be like, because it's
- 12:20Speaker 1: that good. But obviously you're not reading Shakespeare pretty easy reading,
- 12:23Speaker 1: you know. But I love that people are enjoying it.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I love even more that me being honest about my
- 12:31Speaker 1: journey in life so far has been inspiring to people.
- 12:35Speaker 1: That was the whole goal of the book. I think
- 12:37Speaker 1: becoming a national bestseller was just like the cherry on top.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And I think it is very important that I write
- 12:45Speaker 1: another book. And spoiler alert, I've already started, so yes,
- 12:50Speaker 1: there will be another book coming. I feel I say
- 12:54Speaker 1: this all the time. I feel like I've lived a
- 12:56Speaker 1: hundred lifetimes since I wrote that book, and I became
- 13:02Speaker 1: a mother, and anyone who is a mom knows the
- 13:05Speaker 1: second you find out that you're pregnant and you feel
- 13:08Speaker 1: that first kick in just all of those monumental moments
- 13:10Speaker 1: during pregnancy to having them, you become a different human being,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and your goal in life and what you want to
- 13:19Speaker 1: see in the world changes. You know, you're much more woke,
- 13:23Speaker 1: is what the cool kids say. I'm woke.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I love it.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And you know, there are certain chapters in that book
- 13:30Speaker 1: that I want to expand deeper on them. You know,
- 13:36Speaker 1: this wasn't a book where I said, yeah, let's give
- 13:38Speaker 1: the people a thousand pages to read of give them Lalla. No,
- 13:42Speaker 1: it was what were these moments that were very defining
- 13:48Speaker 1: And now looking back, there were so many moments that
- 13:51Speaker 1: were inside of moments that I shared in the first book,
- 13:54Speaker 1: Give Them Lalla, that I think need to be spoken about.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I just there's something that's that's tugging on me to
- 14:02Speaker 1: share a little bit deeper. When something like what I've
- 14:06Speaker 1: been through happens and your blinders are taking off and
- 14:08Speaker 1: you're open to this brand new world and you know,
- 14:13Speaker 1: the independence and just being a woman. You know, I'm
- 14:17Speaker 1: not the twenty six year old girl that I was
- 14:19Speaker 1: or twenty three twenty four when I was on Vanderbumbrules.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Like I'm a grown woman and you change, and like
- 14:27Speaker 1: I've said before. I reserve the right to change, and
- 14:29Speaker 1: I reserve the right to go back and say, you
- 14:32Speaker 1: know what I said. Then there's more to it, and
- 14:36Speaker 1: the control is now gone, and I'm going to share
- 14:39Speaker 1: maybe the parts that weren't so great that I can
- 14:41Speaker 1: now share. Oh you know. Yeah, yeah, I'm excited for that.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I think people will enjoy it. So yes, Bethany, I
- 14:48Speaker 1: hope long winded answer, and I love you too, Bethany.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Do we have another one?
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yes? We do.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Let's rule it.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Hi, Lala, my name is Ellen. I'm from Michigan. I
- 15:00Speaker 4: just recently lost my dad two months ago to liver cancer.
- 15:04Speaker 4: He went to the hospital and then wellin two weeks,
- 15:07Speaker 4: I knew that he was going to pass away, which
- 15:10Speaker 4: was a shock to me. I've been thinking about how
- 15:13Speaker 4: strong you are with losing your dad, and I just
- 15:16Speaker 4: want some tips and advice to help me day by day.
- 15:20Speaker 4: I know that I will never get over it, but
- 15:23Speaker 4: I just want to get a little bit stronger. You stay,
- 15:26Speaker 4: so I know that you could give me some great
- 15:29Speaker 4: advice and that would be really awesome. I'm a huge fan.
- 15:34Speaker 4: So much love to you in ocean. Thank you so much.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Ellen. First of all, I am so beyond sorry for
- 15:41Speaker 1: your loss. It is heartbreaking. I'm sitting here. I think
- 15:45Speaker 1: it's been four years since my dad passed away, and
- 15:50Speaker 1: it does not get easier. Like time. They say time
- 15:54Speaker 1: heals all wounds. I think it allows us to cope
- 15:57Speaker 1: a little bit better each day, but there moments still
- 16:00Speaker 1: that I'll sit in my bed and just completely break down, sobbing,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and it feels like he passed away yesterday. And I
- 16:08Speaker 1: think it's very important when you suffer a traumatic loss
- 16:13Speaker 1: like that to surround yourself with people who allow you
- 16:16Speaker 1: to go through the emotional rollercoaster. Because you're going to
- 16:19Speaker 1: feel angry, you're going to feel enraged, you're going to
- 16:23Speaker 1: feel so sad that you can't get off the floor,
- 16:25Speaker 1: and you need to allow yourself those moments and be
- 16:29Speaker 1: around people who allow you to have those moments. Because
- 16:35Speaker 1: to try and sit here and say I'm gonna be
- 16:37Speaker 1: strong through this, no, you just need to be a
- 16:39Speaker 1: person who's suffering a loss right now. You don't need
- 16:42Speaker 1: to be strong. That's gonna come with time, you know,
- 16:44Speaker 1: and Ellen, your dad will make sure of that. There
- 16:48Speaker 1: were days and I turned to alcohol. That's when my
- 16:52Speaker 1: addiction was like heavy heavy duty. After I lost my dad,
- 16:56Speaker 1: it was bottle of champagne next to my bed, going
- 16:59Speaker 1: to bed with it and waking up to it. Like
- 17:01Speaker 1: that's what I was relying on. And if I could
- 17:03Speaker 1: give anyone advice, it would be to steer clear of
- 17:08Speaker 1: any substance like alcohol during a time of grieving, because
- 17:13Speaker 1: it prolongs all of the process that is absolutely necessary
- 17:18Speaker 1: for you to go through in order to be that
- 17:20Speaker 1: strong person. It just it doesn't allow you to be
- 17:25Speaker 1: in your right frame of mind to go through all
- 17:27Speaker 1: of the emotions. It doesn't. It masks it. Then you
- 17:30Speaker 1: wake up like I did six months later, and you're like,
- 17:33Speaker 1: how does it feel like I've made no emotional progress
- 17:37Speaker 1: because I didn't allow myself to. I was too busy
- 17:39Speaker 1: diving into the bottle every chance I got. But try
- 17:43Speaker 1: to remain in your right frame of mind, because every
- 17:45Speaker 1: single day you're going to go through the waves of
- 17:51Speaker 1: it all. But there will be a day where you're like, Wow,
- 17:55Speaker 1: my coping mechanism is on point. It's just how we're built,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you know. I think I don't know what your higher
- 18:05Speaker 1: power is, Ellen, I don't know what a lot of
- 18:07Speaker 1: our listener's higher power is mine happens to be God,
- 18:10Speaker 1: so we'll stick with that for now. I think God
- 18:15Speaker 1: put it in us to deal with the loss of
- 18:18Speaker 1: a parent because it's the circle of life. I don't
- 18:21Speaker 1: think he put it in us to deal with the
- 18:23Speaker 1: loss of a child. I think that is something where
- 18:26Speaker 1: it's you're throwing me off, this is going against the
- 18:30Speaker 1: circle of life. But just know like you have it
- 18:34Speaker 1: in you to cope with this, you know. I mean,
- 18:37Speaker 1: I hope that that was that that was of some
- 18:41Speaker 1: sort of help to you. And you're going to see
- 18:43Speaker 1: little things that remind you of him and not even
- 18:47Speaker 1: remind you, but it's like, oh my gosh, my dad
- 18:49Speaker 1: is like here with me right now. You're gonna feel him.
- 18:52Speaker 1: When I lost my dad, it was so strange what happened,
- 18:56Speaker 1: what started happening to me. You know, it was like
- 18:59Speaker 1: I got sober, I'm blessed with this beautiful baby. These
- 19:02Speaker 1: little things where I'm like, my dad is doing some
- 19:05Speaker 1: mad work up there. Yeah, you know, like he's getting
- 19:08Speaker 1: no rest, just completely slaying the game on my behalf.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah, no, for real, No things even happen now where
- 19:17Speaker 2: I'm like, I'll just say just from habit, like someone
- 19:21Speaker 2: up there is watching you and you're like, oh, yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 2: it's my.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Dad, my dad obviously, Yeah, you know, my dad is
- 19:28Speaker 1: doing mad work. He's got a lot of shit on
- 19:31Speaker 1: his back right now. Yeah, but he's a champion, just
- 19:33Speaker 1: like Ellen's dad. So I hope that brought you a
- 19:35Speaker 1: little bit of peace and comfort, and I love you
- 19:38Speaker 1: so so much.
- 19:39Speaker 8: Hey, La La, I was just calling to see if
- 19:43Speaker 8: on that one podcast when you had the psychic on,
- 19:46Speaker 8: he definitely seemed to know what was going on in
- 19:49Speaker 8: your life and repeatedly kept asking or telling you rather
- 19:54Speaker 8: that you would be okay on your own and that
- 19:58Speaker 8: you are strong. Do you now believe that he knew
- 20:04Speaker 8: what was going on with he who shall not be
- 20:07Speaker 8: named and yourself, and that he was trying to really
- 20:10Speaker 8: signal to you that you would be fine. Thanks. You
- 20:13Speaker 8: can't wait to hear your answer.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Who you know? I go back to that podcast often
- 20:22Speaker 1: because he absolutely knew. I mean, Chris Medina is beyond gifted,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know. I think there are some people out there
- 20:30Speaker 1: that they say that they're, you know, these gifted individuals.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I believe that there truly are people out there that
- 20:37Speaker 1: are gifted like Chris Medina, and I was beyond honored
- 20:40Speaker 1: to have him come and beyond the podcast, and what
- 20:45Speaker 1: happened after that podcast is something people don't know. I
- 20:49Speaker 1: thought Chris Medina was definitely holding back on the podcast.
- 20:53Speaker 1: When the podcast was over, Chris gave me a hug.
- 20:58Speaker 1: He whispered in my ear to have a private session
- 21:01Speaker 1: with you. Immediately, obviously talk to Jess. Let's do it yesterday.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 1: So we did a private session and what he said
- 21:12Speaker 1: was profound, and everything he said that was going to
- 21:17Speaker 1: happen actually happened. So he didn't get into details, but
- 21:23Speaker 1: he told me to watch out for certain times like dates,
- 21:29Speaker 1: and everything he told me to look for actually happened.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Now I thought that maybe like me and he who
- 21:38Speaker 1: we shall not name, would just kind of part ways
- 21:41Speaker 1: call it a day.
- 21:42Speaker 4: You know.
- 21:42Speaker 1: At that point in time, I just felt like this
- 21:45Speaker 1: ain't gonna work. I wanted to do everything to try
- 21:48Speaker 1: and make it work because I had ocean, but I
- 21:50Speaker 1: definitely didn't think an actual life changing event would happen
- 21:55Speaker 1: where there was no other choice but to get out.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 1: So, yes, I think back on that Chris Medina session
- 22:03Speaker 1: all the time. I think back on the podcast, and
- 22:05Speaker 1: I think about our solo zoom that we did where
- 22:10Speaker 1: I'm like, holy shit.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah, do you think you'd eventually like to have him
- 22:16Speaker 2: on again?
- 22:16Speaker 1: I would love to have him on again because, like
- 22:19Speaker 1: I said, I think he's gifted and I think he
- 22:21Speaker 1: offers me comfort. I like knowing that I'm on the
- 22:25Speaker 1: right path. Like I don't want to know. I just
- 22:28Speaker 1: want to know I'm on the right path, right, you know.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I want to make sure that the moves that I'm
- 22:32Speaker 1: making in life to further my career or being a
- 22:36Speaker 1: good mama, that I'm doing everything correctly. Now, obviously things
- 22:42Speaker 1: come up, but I feel like he knows, like what
- 22:46Speaker 1: your fate is, yeah, you know, he knows the outcome.
- 22:50Speaker 1: So it's when I say trust in the universe. That's
- 22:55Speaker 1: how I feel when I talk to Chris Medina. It's
- 22:57Speaker 1: like I trust in him, Yeah, because I just think
- 23:00Speaker 1: he's one of those souls that is extremely gifted in
- 23:04Speaker 1: a universe that we can't even comprehend.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I agree, all right, Last, but not least.
- 23:11Speaker 9: Hey, l La, this is Aaron from Alberta, Canada.
- 23:15Speaker 7: I just got two palettes from Give them All a Beauty,
- 23:19Speaker 7: the Baby Palette and the Pretty Palette and your mass
- 23:23Speaker 7: Scara in the mail yesterday and I.
- 23:27Speaker 9: Am so impressed with the product. Oh my god, the mascara.
- 23:31Speaker 9: I just spent like eighty five dollars on a mascara
- 23:35Speaker 9: at Sephora from Alidglass. I think, and your mascara, I
- 23:39Speaker 9: am not just making this up or exaggerating works better.
- 23:44Speaker 9: I love it. And I'm a clout owner of.
- 23:47Speaker 6: Many gifferent Lala products across all your companies. So my
- 23:50Speaker 6: question today is what would be like three dudes and
- 23:54Speaker 6: three don'ts that you would give to any woman who's
- 23:58Speaker 6: looking to start thrown company or business or a little
- 24:02Speaker 6: side project online or anything like that. What's your best
- 24:06Speaker 6: advice to women.
- 24:07Speaker 7: Looking to get into business with something they love.
- 24:12Speaker 9: Sending love to you an.
- 24:13Speaker 7: Ocean and hot happy holiday season, and.
- 24:17Speaker 9: I wish you an absolutely blessed new year.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Love you Laala.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Thanks ooh Aaron. First of all, thank you so much
- 24:25Speaker 1: for supporting the give them Lalla brand. I'm so happy
- 24:29Speaker 1: that you enjoy my products. I try my best to
- 24:33Speaker 1: create things that I love that other people are going
- 24:36Speaker 1: to love just as much, and also respecting how hard
- 24:40Speaker 1: people work, so I'm not trying to put something out
- 24:43Speaker 1: that's eighty four dollars in a last scare. Then I'm
- 24:45Speaker 1: going to take off at the end of the day,
- 24:47Speaker 1: like are you out of your mind? Like we work
- 24:49Speaker 1: hard and I'm trying to have a good product.
- 24:51Speaker 2: With a healthy cost, right, healthy cost, healthy cost. You know,
- 24:57Speaker 2: I love a healthy cost.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Love a healthy cost, which is like forty two bucks
- 25:01Speaker 1: for a pallet that's going to last you forever. Nine
- 25:04Speaker 1: shades just saying you can shop my brand and give
- 25:06Speaker 1: them la la dot com. But I think that my
- 25:10Speaker 1: three dues and three don'ts. I definitely don't think anyone
- 25:16Speaker 1: should ever over extend themselves financially. Be smart with that.
- 25:21Speaker 1: When you're thinking of creating your brand, even just a
- 25:25Speaker 1: side hustle, come up with figures that make sense that
- 25:28Speaker 1: let's just say your your company doesn't do what you
- 25:33Speaker 1: thought it was going to do. That you don't sit
- 25:36Speaker 1: there and go, oh my gosh, I dumped my life's
- 25:38Speaker 1: savings into this thinking that it was going to work.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I also think that your brand should feed itself. Come
- 25:46Speaker 1: up with your initial investment. I think the business should
- 25:51Speaker 1: should pay for itself, you know, to sit here and
- 25:54Speaker 1: keep dumping your own money to try and get it
- 25:56Speaker 1: off the ground. I think taking a pause and saying,
- 26:00Speaker 1: what are we doing that is making us not be
- 26:02Speaker 1: able to number one recoup our investment and number two
- 26:06Speaker 1: make a profit. Is it something that just isn't working.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Maybe the market's oversaturated. Maybe you need to come up
- 26:13Speaker 1: with something that is a little bit more original, which
- 26:18Speaker 1: is very hard these days. I mean there's a million
- 26:20Speaker 1: and one beauty brands. What is going to make your special?
- 26:25Speaker 1: So don't overextend yourself financially. The second, let your business
- 26:32Speaker 1: feed itself. And three, sit down and really think about
- 26:36Speaker 1: what is going to separate your business from everyone else's.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Do the research, Does the product already exist? If it does,
- 26:44Speaker 1: what makes yours special? So those are kind of three
- 26:47Speaker 1: do's and don'ts, But those would be my top Those
- 26:51Speaker 1: are great. Yeah Lisa agrees, so well, if Lisa agrees,
- 26:55Speaker 1: then we're good. I love those voicemails. Remember please call
- 26:59Speaker 1: me to leave all of your comments and questions at
- 27:01Speaker 1: one Eat sixty six. La La Pod my guest coming up,
- 27:05Speaker 1: is not only stunning, she is inspiring. She's a business
- 27:10Speaker 1: woman and I cannot wait to deep dive into her
- 27:13Speaker 1: life and who she is and how she came to
- 27:15Speaker 1: be this incredible woman, mother, wife, just everything under the sun.
- 27:22Speaker 1: So when we come back, we have Telly Swift. We
- 27:30Speaker 1: are back, and I am so excited because we have
- 27:34Speaker 1: Telly Swift and I'm a fan of yours. Hi, Telly, Hi,
- 27:40Speaker 1: how are you? We're good? Thank you for joining us
- 27:43Speaker 1: on today's podcast.
- 27:44Speaker 3: It's my pleasure.
- 27:46Speaker 1: You're amazing. So I first have to ask you, where
- 27:49Speaker 1: did you get the nickname Kelly, because obviously my name
- 27:52Speaker 1: is not really La La, and people are always like,
- 27:55Speaker 1: what is this nickname that you've created for yourself? How
- 27:57Speaker 1: did you get this nickname Kelly?
- 27:59Speaker 10: So it was back, I guess in like the seventh grade.
- 28:02Speaker 10: I went to school in Japan. I went to high
- 28:04Speaker 10: school and middle school in Japan, so I guess playing basketball.
- 28:08Speaker 3: It just it's stuck.
- 28:10Speaker 10: They called me Telly, and it just it's stuck with
- 28:12Speaker 10: me since seventh or eighth grade, I want to say.
- 28:15Speaker 10: So it's been Telly every ever since. And the only
- 28:18Speaker 10: people that really call me by my.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Government name, which is Chintel, is like my man, my dad,
- 28:26Speaker 3: my brother, and my mom, and that's it. Everyone else
- 28:30Speaker 3: calls me Telly.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I love that.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I mean my mom, I always know people call me
- 28:36Speaker 1: Lauren instead of Lauren. So my mama is the only
- 28:38Speaker 1: one that calls me by my government name as well,
- 28:40Speaker 1: and everyone gets so confused, They're like, who is this
- 28:42Speaker 1: Lauren that you're talking about? So love the nickname, love
- 28:46Speaker 1: the backstory you. Why did you move to Japan? I
- 28:50Speaker 1: know you're from the Philippines.
- 28:51Speaker 10: Yes, I was born in the Philippines. My father was military,
- 28:55Speaker 10: so we moved like every three years, and then my
- 28:58Speaker 10: ex husband was stationed in Japan too, so I was
- 29:01Speaker 10: there a little bit longer than I probably should have been.
- 29:05Speaker 3: But I love Japan. It's a beautiful country.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I love that story. My mother lived in Japan as
- 29:11Speaker 1: well because her father was in the army, and she
- 29:13Speaker 1: absolutely loved it as well. So you you were married
- 29:17Speaker 1: once before. And by the way, you and your man
- 29:21Speaker 1: are so cute, and I love how right or die
- 29:24Speaker 1: you are for each other.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Thank you. Yeah, that's my baby. He is he's amazing,
- 29:29Speaker 3: he's well.
- 29:30Speaker 10: In total, we have eight kids, so wow, there's yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 10: we have a household of children. So now that I'm
- 29:38Speaker 10: in my room in like my alone time space, I'm like, yes,
- 29:42Speaker 10: alone time.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I love that. So you're married. For those who live
- 29:48Speaker 1: under a rock and don't know who you are, which
- 29:50Speaker 1: I know most of my listeners do know who you are.
- 29:53Speaker 1: You are married to Deontay Wilder and how did you
- 29:58Speaker 1: two come to be? And this power couple.
- 30:01Speaker 10: So we actually met at Lax Airport, so crazy I
- 30:05Speaker 10: was coming from. I had like an infection in my
- 30:09Speaker 10: leg and so I was in the hospital for like
- 30:11Speaker 10: two weeks on like rotating antibiotics and medicine. And the
- 30:15Speaker 10: reason why I say that backstory is because when we
- 30:18Speaker 10: met at the airport, I saw one of my girlfriends
- 30:21Speaker 10: and I was like, hey girl, I'm alive, you know,
- 30:23Speaker 10: and I just completely stopped talking to him, so like
- 30:26Speaker 10: I was thinking he was gonna wait, and he left,
- 30:29Speaker 10: So I was like, wait, where did he go? We
- 30:30Speaker 10: were having such a good conversation and leave it to Instagram,
- 30:35Speaker 10: you know, on the Explorer page. One of his his managers'
- 30:41Speaker 10: sons I knew, and I guess that's how he came
- 30:44Speaker 10: on my Explorer page. And then we were dming each
- 30:46Speaker 10: other and then coming to find out he's from Alabama
- 30:50Speaker 10: and my dad's from Alabama. So that's kind of how
- 30:53Speaker 10: I ended up going to Alabama earlier because I had
- 30:56Speaker 10: a family reunion and the rest was history. And we've
- 30:59Speaker 10: been together there going on seven years now.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Wow, seven years, that is a very long time. And
- 31:05Speaker 1: I have to say, Okay, so you met each other
- 31:07Speaker 1: at LAX did so you slid in his DM?
- 31:11Speaker 3: Yes? So what happened was he was on my Explore
- 31:14Speaker 3: page and I was like, wait, that's the guy from Alabama.
- 31:17Speaker 3: And the conversation that we had at the airport was
- 31:20Speaker 3: so short, and I kind of felt bad that I
- 31:23Speaker 3: like just left and was talking to my friend. And
- 31:25Speaker 3: he always tells people I was so rude, but I
- 31:28Speaker 3: was like, but you didn't know that.
- 31:29Speaker 10: I was like coming from the hospital, you know. I
- 31:32Speaker 10: was just in the airport and he didn't know who
- 31:33Speaker 10: I was, and I didn't know who he was. So
- 31:36Speaker 10: our encounter was so quick, and I was like, oh,
- 31:38Speaker 10: we were having such a good conversation about like Alabama
- 31:41Speaker 10: and my father being from Alabama, and I just completely left.
- 31:45Speaker 10: But I was so excited to see my friend and
- 31:47Speaker 10: so excited to still have my leg I was like, girl,
- 31:49Speaker 10: I'm alive. I'm here kicking now.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Probably that made I'm sure you more intriguing to him
- 31:56Speaker 1: because he's an athlete, and I'm sure you know, girls
- 32:01Speaker 1: sit there and would blow off their their girlfriend to
- 32:05Speaker 1: talk to this dude. And he was probably like, this
- 32:07Speaker 1: girl didn't give me the time of day. There's intrigue there.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 10: I wouldn't know if I called it intrigue. He probably
- 32:16Speaker 10: was like, she's a bitch.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Can I curse?
- 32:18Speaker 10: He's probably like, she's a bitch. She just left, you know,
- 32:21Speaker 10: And I was like, I didn't. Every time we have
- 32:23Speaker 10: this conversation, I'm like, I did not mean to just leave.
- 32:26Speaker 10: I was just so excited to like see my girl
- 32:29Speaker 10: and still have my leg and not have one leg right, like, girl,
- 32:33Speaker 10: I am kicking with two leggs.
- 32:35Speaker 3: I'm good, you know.
- 32:37Speaker 10: And he was gone, so I'm like, okay, I get it.
- 32:40Speaker 10: He had to catch his flight. I had to catch
- 32:41Speaker 10: my flight too.
- 32:43Speaker 1: It was meant to be. You guys were meant to
- 32:44Speaker 1: be together. The fact that he popped up on an
- 32:46Speaker 1: Explore page where there's like millions upon millions.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Crazy, and the fact that his.
- 32:53Speaker 10: Manager's son I knew from La and it just it
- 32:57Speaker 10: was just like two and two together. It was crazy
- 32:59Speaker 10: and like we got matching tattoos. Day two of being together.
- 33:04Speaker 10: It was it's intense, Like our relationship was just so quick,
- 33:08Speaker 10: so fast, that I was like, Okay, you know when
- 33:11Speaker 10: you have quick relationships, you don't think they're gonna last
- 33:13Speaker 10: because they're so quick fast.
- 33:15Speaker 3: And here we are seven years later.
- 33:18Speaker 10: Eight kids in, so we're definitely on the move to
- 33:23Speaker 10: up and up.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Y'all were written in the stars. I have to ask you.
- 33:26Speaker 1: So I'm newly single right and sliding in the DM.
- 33:31Speaker 1: I'm new to you know, I don't know if I
- 33:34Speaker 1: have game anymore? Who knows? That's still up in the air.
- 33:38Speaker 1: What did you say to him? What was like the
- 33:41Speaker 1: game move? I mean, already you had an authentic encounter already,
- 33:45Speaker 1: so maybe that switched the way you would have slid
- 33:49Speaker 1: in the DM? But what did you say? Give me
- 33:51Speaker 1: some pointers?
- 33:52Speaker 3: Girl?
- 33:52Speaker 10: I actually was like, I'm I'm really funny, or I
- 33:55Speaker 10: think I am. I guess I try to be at least,
- 33:58Speaker 10: and I just said, hey, Bama. Like we never finished
- 34:01Speaker 10: our conversation because I didn't we never exchange names.
- 34:04Speaker 3: It was like, hey, where are you going? Where are
- 34:06Speaker 3: you from?
- 34:07Speaker 10: And then he was like I'm going to Alabama and
- 34:11Speaker 10: where are you going? And I was like, well, I'm
- 34:13Speaker 10: going back to Jersey at the time, I lived in Jersey,
- 34:15Speaker 10: so our conversation was so like short, and I like,
- 34:20Speaker 10: I said, I saw my girl. And when I slid
- 34:22Speaker 10: in his DMS, I was like, you know, his name
- 34:24Speaker 10: on Instagram was Bronze Bomber, So I was like, hey, Bama, like,
- 34:28Speaker 10: I know.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Your name is not Bronze Bomber.
- 34:30Speaker 10: So you know, like it was just a short, a
- 34:34Speaker 10: short conversation in person that I was like, I didn't
- 34:37Speaker 10: know how to approach him, you know, in the DMS
- 34:40Speaker 10: because it was just so short of.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Our conversation and he was just like, oh my gosh,
- 34:45Speaker 3: Like I was thinking about.
- 34:46Speaker 10: You on the plane and I sent my assistant to
- 34:49Speaker 10: go look for you, but you were gone. So like
- 34:51Speaker 10: the same feeling that I guess I had, he had
- 34:54Speaker 10: as well too. So it was I'm glad that it
- 34:57Speaker 10: ended up working out that way. And then two weeks
- 34:59Speaker 10: later I went to Alabama and I just came a
- 35:03Speaker 10: little bit earlier than my then our family reunion and
- 35:07Speaker 10: we just chilled.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Then and it was it was on and popping.
- 35:10Speaker 10: After that, Yeah, like maybe like three months or four
- 35:14Speaker 10: months after that, he had asked me to move to
- 35:17Speaker 10: Alabama from Jersey. And I waited until like at the time,
- 35:21Speaker 10: I was in a condo, I waited for that lease
- 35:24Speaker 10: to be done, and then I moved to Alabama. So
- 35:27Speaker 10: it was it was, like I said, our relationship was
- 35:29Speaker 10: so quick that I was like.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, like is this true? Like can this
- 35:35Speaker 3: happen this fast?
- 35:36Speaker 10: And I was just like you know, in your head,
- 35:37Speaker 10: you're just you think that when a relationship goes fast,
- 35:41Speaker 10: like it's not gonna last because everything intense, intense, intense, intense.
- 35:45Speaker 10: Like I moved there maybe like I don't know, maybe
- 35:49Speaker 10: six months into our relationship, and yeah, because I was
- 35:54Speaker 10: I was nursing at the time, and I was.
- 35:57Speaker 1: So you had a young you had a young baby
- 35:59Speaker 1: then when you first met him, Yes.
- 36:02Speaker 3: I had.
- 36:02Speaker 10: He was I want to say, like seven or eight.
- 36:06Speaker 10: Now he's fifteen, so he was young. Yeah, he was
- 36:10Speaker 10: young at the time. And then he had kids as
- 36:15Speaker 10: well too when I met him. And then it wasn't
- 36:18Speaker 10: until I moved over there that like I started meeting
- 36:22Speaker 10: the kids and you know, realizing how many kids he
- 36:25Speaker 10: had because I only thought he had three kids, but
- 36:27Speaker 10: it ended up being much more than three. So yeah,
- 36:31Speaker 10: I mean, like it was it was definitely different moving
- 36:35Speaker 10: in with him than it was, like, you know, having
- 36:38Speaker 10: a long distance relationship. And the long distance to me
- 36:41Speaker 10: was was hard because I was working, like I said,
- 36:45Speaker 10: as a nurse, and I was doing twelve hour shifts
- 36:48Speaker 10: and then like I was working three or four days
- 36:51Speaker 10: a week twelve hour shifts, and then I would go
- 36:53Speaker 10: visit him for the weekend or whatever the case is.
- 36:56Speaker 10: So I was like with him and work and him
- 36:58Speaker 10: and work, and then I had a kid too, so
- 37:00Speaker 10: I was like exhausted. I was like, we got to
- 37:03Speaker 10: figure this out. Either you know, we can't see each
- 37:07Speaker 10: other so much, or we see each other once a
- 37:09Speaker 10: month instead of every other weekend, or whatever the key is.
- 37:12Speaker 3: But we got to figure it out. And he's like, well,
- 37:14Speaker 3: why don't you just come here? And I was like wait,
- 37:16Speaker 3: what like.
- 37:19Speaker 10: For that, and he's like no, you're good, Like we're
- 37:22Speaker 10: in mind you this is date, like I said, day two.
- 37:26Speaker 10: He was like, you're gonna be my wife. I'm gonna
- 37:27Speaker 10: be with you for the rest of my life. I'm
- 37:29Speaker 10: like okay, no, like how you know, and he's like
- 37:32Speaker 10: we're getting matching tattoos and I was like okay, and
- 37:34Speaker 10: he went first, so I was like, Okay, now I
- 37:37Speaker 10: have to go because like, no, you had to do it.
- 37:39Speaker 10: After that, I was like, I have to go now.
- 37:41Speaker 10: So we have matching tattoos that says love when we
- 37:44Speaker 10: hold hands. So I have the O OE and he
- 37:47Speaker 10: has the LV.
- 37:48Speaker 1: That is beyond amazing and adorable. And I'm anytime I
- 37:53Speaker 1: hear about couples that just have such a romantic, organic
- 37:56Speaker 1: love connection and you know, they they merge these families
- 38:00Speaker 1: together and they make it work. It's a beautiful thing.
- 38:03Speaker 1: And so you you were married before. How old were
- 38:07Speaker 1: you when you met Deontae?
- 38:10Speaker 10: I was, I'm thirty four now I turned thirty five
- 38:14Speaker 10: January twenty fourth.
- 38:16Speaker 3: I'm like, when is my birthday?
- 38:18Speaker 10: But I was I want to say twenty five twenty six.
- 38:25Speaker 1: So that's young. Yeah, that's young. And you were coming
- 38:29Speaker 1: you you had been married before. Were you ever afraid
- 38:34Speaker 1: of meeting someone new? I don't know if your previous
- 38:38Speaker 1: marriage was ugly, if you guys parted ways and it
- 38:42Speaker 1: was amicable, but were you afraid of getting into another relationship?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Like were you Did you have any battle wounds from
- 38:49Speaker 1: your previous marriage?
- 38:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 38:52Speaker 10: I think like all women, you know, we're strong, we're resilient.
- 38:57Speaker 10: And I feel like when it comes to moving on
- 39:01Speaker 10: and starting like a new relationship with someone else, I'm
- 39:05Speaker 10: gonna speak for women because I'm a woman.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I feel like it's like we don't let.
- 39:10Speaker 10: In so quickly, you know, hard for us to trust
- 39:13Speaker 10: coming from a relationship that didn't work or failed, and
- 39:18Speaker 10: you know, my relationship to my ex husband and did
- 39:23Speaker 10: in a sense where I feel like I was at
- 39:25Speaker 10: peace and okay with like us not being together anymore
- 39:29Speaker 10: because he was my high school sweetheart, So like I
- 39:32Speaker 10: was like at peace.
- 39:33Speaker 3: I was like, okay, you know it's time. We're ready.
- 39:36Speaker 10: We're both ready to like grow and you know, have
- 39:39Speaker 10: separate lives. And my son was two at the time,
- 39:44Speaker 10: and so like he really didn't know any better because
- 39:48Speaker 10: so young. So like it was to me that divorce
- 39:54Speaker 10: was more of like a clearing and like a peaceful moment.
- 39:58Speaker 10: And I didn't wait, Like I'm not I didn't wait.
- 40:01Speaker 10: I waited a long time before I like committed to
- 40:04Speaker 10: someone and introduced them to my son. And you know,
- 40:07Speaker 10: I waited a while, so it wasn't like I was
- 40:10Speaker 10: just in another relationship. As soon as I got out
- 40:14Speaker 10: of my marriage. It did take time for like me
- 40:18Speaker 10: to heal and like, you know, do I want to
- 40:21Speaker 10: do this relationship thing again now? Like dating, yes, like
- 40:24Speaker 10: I definitely dated, but like a serious, committed relationship. It
- 40:28Speaker 10: wasn't until I got with Deionte that I was like, Okay,
- 40:31Speaker 10: here's my son, you know, like, this is you know
- 40:35Speaker 10: who I come with. This is my you know, bonus.
- 40:39Speaker 10: And I have my brother as well too, So my brother.
- 40:42Speaker 10: I was like, all right, if I moved there, like,
- 40:45Speaker 10: I have my son and my brother, so I come
- 40:47Speaker 10: in a package deal.
- 40:48Speaker 1: The package deal totally.
- 40:50Speaker 10: So I was like, I'm not leaving my brother to
- 40:53Speaker 10: stay Jersey, so my brother's still with us.
- 40:56Speaker 1: That is really amazing because I feel, you know, I
- 40:59Speaker 1: come in the package deal now as well. I come
- 41:02Speaker 1: with some brothers, I come with my beautiful daughter. I
- 41:06Speaker 1: come with my mama. And if the person that I'm
- 41:10Speaker 1: with next can't accept that, then you can get to
- 41:13Speaker 1: move in because it's it's all of us or it's
- 41:16Speaker 1: none of us, right, And I've always wondered because I'm
- 41:19Speaker 1: I'm obviously very newly single. My daughter is only nine
- 41:23Speaker 1: months old. When do you know that it's the right
- 41:26Speaker 1: time to introduce your baby to someone like I feel
- 41:30Speaker 1: like she's such she's like a luxury to be around.
- 41:33Speaker 1: You know, you don't just get to meet her, even
- 41:35Speaker 1: though she's nine months, you won't remember who you are.
- 41:37Speaker 10: That's how I feel, too, Like you totally are like
- 41:40Speaker 10: my treasures. I'm a lioness when it comes to my
- 41:43Speaker 10: kids and if you don't get along with my kids.
- 41:45Speaker 3: And he's the same way too. Of course about the
- 41:47Speaker 3: kids how to swim.
- 41:48Speaker 10: During COVID, when COVID first started, and all the kids,
- 41:52Speaker 10: so all the kids down to the baby knows how
- 41:55Speaker 10: to swim. So it's it's just to me like kids,
- 41:58Speaker 10: Like you said, it's like a luxury, it's a bonus,
- 42:01Speaker 10: it's a treasure. And if I think there's like deal breakers,
- 42:06Speaker 10: right like I feel like if you can include me
- 42:08Speaker 10: and my family, deal breaker if you can if you
- 42:12Speaker 10: don't see your like my kid as your kid, or
- 42:15Speaker 10: like as you would treat them equally compared to your kids,
- 42:19Speaker 10: or if you don't have kids.
- 42:20Speaker 3: You know, that is a deal breaker to me too,
- 42:23Speaker 3: And he was.
- 42:23Speaker 10: That's kind of the reason why, or one of the
- 42:25Speaker 10: reasons why I fell in love with him is when
- 42:29Speaker 10: we came back from our family reunion. I ended up
- 42:32Speaker 10: coming back early, so there's no direct flights from where
- 42:37Speaker 10: my family is from Alabama, and it's closer to where
- 42:40Speaker 10: Deontay lived, So I ended up coming to Deonte's house
- 42:45Speaker 10: and I was like, Okay, the catch is I have my.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Brother and my son with me, you know. And this
- 42:51Speaker 3: is after like.
- 42:52Speaker 10: Meeting him for I don't know, maybe like a weekend
- 42:55Speaker 10: or something.
- 42:55Speaker 3: And I'm like, okay, well, I have X, Y and
- 42:58Speaker 3: Z here with me.
- 43:00Speaker 10: But I was already talking to him for like two
- 43:01Speaker 10: weeks on the phone, like you know that no you
- 43:04Speaker 10: hang up, you hang up type of situation. I was like, Okay,
- 43:07Speaker 10: he's cool enough to like, if he's cool enough to
- 43:10Speaker 10: have my brother and my son here, then you know
- 43:13Speaker 10: he's good in my book. So and this is like
- 43:16Speaker 10: literally just spending a weekend with him, which was a
- 43:18Speaker 10: great weekend, which we got matching tattoos. I'm like, all right,
- 43:22Speaker 10: you're with me, Like this is it? Like you know,
- 43:25Speaker 10: we have tattoos. Now you can't go anywhere. So I
- 43:28Speaker 10: brought him, I brought my He was like, yeah, no problem.
- 43:31Speaker 10: So I brought my son and my brother and my
- 43:33Speaker 10: son woke up in like literally the middle of the
- 43:36Speaker 10: night and he was like, mom, like looking for me
- 43:39Speaker 10: in the house and he was like, mom, where are you?
- 43:41Speaker 10: So he finally finds me and he was like he
- 43:45Speaker 10: could sleep in the bed with us. And I was
- 43:47Speaker 10: just like, oh, he's like you could sleep in I
- 43:50Speaker 10: was like, okay.
- 43:51Speaker 1: You win, you win the whole game.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it was that was it. That was it for me.
- 43:56Speaker 10: But yeah, he's one like an exceptional, like amazing father.
- 44:01Speaker 10: So that's that's like my number one thing, Like you
- 44:05Speaker 10: have to love my kids.
- 44:06Speaker 3: You know.
- 44:08Speaker 10: He's all about kids, and like he wants four more
- 44:12Speaker 10: kids and we already have eight. And I'm like, it's
- 44:14Speaker 10: not cheaper by the dozen, so't it's not coming up
- 44:17Speaker 10: with these numbers, sir.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I think that's really sweet though. You guys have two
- 44:22Speaker 1: kids together, No, we have one. You have one kid together.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Mine was before him and then his is before me
- 44:29Speaker 3: as well too.
- 44:30Speaker 1: And you're is it a boy?
- 44:32Speaker 3: We have a girl?
- 44:32Speaker 1: You have a little girl. And how old is she?
- 44:34Speaker 3: He's three?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, what a fun age.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, so much fun and so much personality,
- 44:41Speaker 3: like oh yeah, oh my, she's in charge literally of
- 44:44Speaker 3: all the other kids, and she's like the baby and
- 44:46Speaker 3: she's like, no, guys, we're doing this. Everyone come over here.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I love it.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, so much fun, so much fun.
- 44:53Speaker 1: So you you meet Deontaey and my my big thing
- 44:57Speaker 1: right now because of my breakup and just you know,
- 45:00Speaker 1: I got involved with my ex when I was twenty six,
- 45:04Speaker 1: which depending on where you where you're from, you know,
- 45:06Speaker 1: twenty six could be a grown ass woman. For me,
- 45:10Speaker 1: I was still trying to, you know, find my footing.
- 45:14Speaker 1: I'm thirty one now and just my eyes are open
- 45:17Speaker 1: to the world and what I want out of life.
- 45:20Speaker 1: You have built a lot for yourself. There are many
- 45:24Speaker 1: women that I find kind of fall into these relationships
- 45:29Speaker 1: and then at a certain point they look around and go,
- 45:31Speaker 1: I've been living my partner's dreams and none of my own.
- 45:35Speaker 10: Absolutely, you know what I feel like, a lot of women,
- 45:38Speaker 10: like you said, fall into that. And I did as
- 45:40Speaker 10: well too, you know, because I left where I was
- 45:43Speaker 10: from and came to where he was from, where I
- 45:45Speaker 10: knew nobody. My family in Alabama lives four hours away
- 45:50Speaker 10: from Deonte's house in Alabama at the time, so I
- 45:55Speaker 10: didn't know anyone where we lived. I didn't have any
- 45:58Speaker 10: friends and you know in Cali, he dressed differently than
- 46:02Speaker 10: they dress in Alabama. So it's just different, completely different.
- 46:06Speaker 10: You know, the accents different, the hospitality is different. So
- 46:10Speaker 10: it was just completely different for me and nursing out there.
- 46:14Speaker 10: The pay cut was like I don't know, like I
- 46:17Speaker 10: think it was like thirteen or fourteen dollars less an
- 46:19Speaker 10: hour than I was normally. I was like, there's no
- 46:22Speaker 10: way I'm going back into the medical field over here
- 46:25Speaker 10: because I'm not making any money and then I'm going
- 46:27Speaker 10: to be working twelve hour shifts and not feeling like
- 46:29Speaker 10: I'm getting paid what I deserve to get paid or
- 46:32Speaker 10: what I'm used to getting paid. So for years, it
- 46:35Speaker 10: wasn't until after I got pregnant with my daughter actually
- 46:40Speaker 10: that I like decided I wanted to focus back on
- 46:43Speaker 10: like my own path, you know, because that like he
- 46:47Speaker 10: was his career when I met him, his career was
- 46:51Speaker 10: like on the rise, you know, he he just became
- 46:54Speaker 10: a champion in his career was on the rise, like
- 46:59Speaker 10: you know, the entire your time that I've been with him.
- 47:02Speaker 10: So it wasn't until I got pregnant with my daughter
- 47:05Speaker 10: and I was like I can't just like sit here
- 47:07Speaker 10: and do nothing. So I got back into modeling. I
- 47:11Speaker 10: was modeling since I was three years old, and I
- 47:13Speaker 10: got back into modeling, and then I was like, you know,
- 47:16Speaker 10: if I'm not nursing anymore, I need to like open
- 47:18Speaker 10: up or start my own business. So I started making
- 47:22Speaker 10: jackets like custom vintage to one of one jackets. Then
- 47:25Speaker 10: I made masks at our name and Marcus. Then I
- 47:28Speaker 10: was like, okay, I want to give back now that
- 47:30Speaker 10: I'm in a position to be able to give back.
- 47:33Speaker 10: So I went to this academy for women for wags
- 47:38Speaker 10: and there was an association for the women of the
- 47:41Speaker 10: NFL and the of the NBA, and I was like, well,
- 47:44Speaker 10: where's one for boxing? So I created one for the
- 47:48Speaker 10: women of boxing. And then we've just done charity events,
- 47:51Speaker 10: you know, moving forward for whatever month is you know
- 47:54Speaker 10: is going on, whether it's breast cancer, autism, We've done
- 48:00Speaker 10: spina bifida because it's eldest daughter was born with spina bifida,
- 48:05Speaker 10: so for all his fights, I always do spin and biffida.
- 48:08Speaker 10: So it just like you know, continued on and for
- 48:12Speaker 10: four years I was talking about this fragrance, like making
- 48:15Speaker 10: a unisex fragrance and Deontae was like always pushing it back,
- 48:20Speaker 10: go well, wait till we have more kids, or wait
- 48:22Speaker 10: till after next fight. And I'm like, all right, sir,
- 48:25Speaker 10: it's been four years. What are we doing here?
- 48:27Speaker 3: Right?
- 48:28Speaker 10: He was like, okay, well, if you want to do it,
- 48:30Speaker 10: just go ahead and do it and just you know,
- 48:32Speaker 10: let me know when it's done.
- 48:33Speaker 3: So I was like, okay, So I did it.
- 48:35Speaker 10: And by the time, like I picked out the fonts,
- 48:37Speaker 10: I sent him the fonts and the name, and he
- 48:39Speaker 10: was just like, okay, what's this four And I was
- 48:41Speaker 10: like the fragrance. He's like, okay, when are we going
- 48:43Speaker 10: to like go test some smells out? And he was
- 48:45Speaker 10: I was like, it's done, you know.
- 48:47Speaker 1: And You're like you just told me to go take
- 48:49Speaker 1: the reins and do it and it's done already.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 10: But it took like it took a while. It took
- 48:53Speaker 10: like over a little bit over like almost a year
- 48:56Speaker 10: to produce. So he just like completely like thought, I
- 49:00Speaker 10: just stopped talking about it. And then when I brought
- 49:02Speaker 10: up the name, because the name is Dtelly. And when
- 49:05Speaker 10: I brought the name and I sent him the fonts,
- 49:07Speaker 10: I was like, which font do you like best? And
- 49:10Speaker 10: he like circled the one that he liked, which is
- 49:12Speaker 10: the same one that I liked, and he was like,
- 49:15Speaker 10: what's this for? And I was like the fragrance and
- 49:17Speaker 10: he was like ready to, like, you know, explore and
- 49:19Speaker 10: smell all the notes.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Did he love it though? Did he love it when
- 49:22Speaker 1: you presented the scent?
- 49:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he loves it.
- 49:24Speaker 10: He I put into because I knew, like, I know
- 49:27Speaker 10: what he likes it, I know what I like, So
- 49:29Speaker 10: I put into consideration both like what he wanted, what
- 49:33Speaker 10: I felt he would want in a fragrance, and what
- 49:35Speaker 10: I wanted in a fragrance. The bottle is've I gotta
- 49:38Speaker 10: send you one. The bottle is gold and red, and
- 49:44Speaker 10: his favorite color is like burgundy and gold. So I
- 49:48Speaker 10: was like, I put that into consideration. And then I
- 49:50Speaker 10: was like, I knew I wanted it to be unisex,
- 49:52Speaker 10: so I didn't want it to be too masculine or
- 49:54Speaker 10: too feminine. Right, smells completely different on a man than
- 49:58Speaker 10: on a woman. It smells more feminine on a woman.
- 50:01Speaker 10: And it took like forever to get down to the
- 50:03Speaker 10: scent that I was like, I like how that smells
- 50:06Speaker 10: on a man, and I like how it.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Smells on a woman. So it's it's I'm excited about it.
- 50:11Speaker 1: You are beyond inspiring because I think a lot of
- 50:14Speaker 1: a lot of women. Again, I'm very passionate about this
- 50:17Speaker 1: topic right now, and women having things that are their own,
- 50:21Speaker 1: and you know, having a job or a career or
- 50:26Speaker 1: something to give them funds for a rainy day. Your
- 50:30Speaker 1: rainy day may look very different from mine. You may
- 50:32Speaker 1: never have to use it. It could just be saved
- 50:35Speaker 1: money for one day you want to go buy a
- 50:36Speaker 1: Birken bag, you know, whatever it may be. But the
- 50:39Speaker 1: fact that you are in a relationship that you know
- 50:43Speaker 1: you were nursing before, so you've all you've always been
- 50:45Speaker 1: a hustler with a beautiful heart. It sounds like, and
- 50:49Speaker 1: you're also a mother, Like how do you balance? We
- 50:54Speaker 1: can all sit here and talk about you know, there's
- 50:57Speaker 1: not enough time in one day for you to be
- 50:59Speaker 1: a mom, go to the create a business, do all
- 51:01Speaker 1: of these things. How do you make it happen?
- 51:05Speaker 10: You know what I tell people all the time, like's
- 51:08Speaker 10: it takes a village. You know, I do have help.
- 51:11Speaker 10: I have a nanny that helps me with my daughter,
- 51:15Speaker 10: but I also have an amazing team of you know,
- 51:19Speaker 10: a manager and assistant publicist, like an amazing team that
- 51:24Speaker 10: helps me manage everything, because if it wasn't for them,
- 51:27Speaker 10: like my little notes in my phone, I'd be like,
- 51:29Speaker 10: oh my gosh, I forgot to do.
- 51:30Speaker 3: This, I forgot to do that.
- 51:32Speaker 10: So I have an amazing team of people that help me.
- 51:35Speaker 10: But outside of my team, when I'm by myself because
- 51:38Speaker 10: obviously you can't. You know, the job doesn't get done
- 51:43Speaker 10: unless you do it anyway, right, So I feel like
- 51:47Speaker 10: it's just just like Nike, you just do it, you know,
- 51:50Speaker 10: you just I mean, one day you have a kid,
- 51:52Speaker 10: and then you know you've never had a kid before,
- 51:54Speaker 10: you just learn how to be a mom, you know,
- 51:56Speaker 10: on the job. Feel like that's been my life. I've
- 52:00Speaker 10: always been like a fast learner and I've always been
- 52:02Speaker 10: a hustler and a go getter. So I had my
- 52:05Speaker 10: son at I was nineteen turning twenty when I had
- 52:09Speaker 10: my son, So I was still a baby and I
- 52:10Speaker 10: had a baby, and I just learned literally on the job,
- 52:14Speaker 10: you know, like breastfeeding was not really my cup of tea.
- 52:18Speaker 10: Like I felt like with like I don't know teeth,
- 52:21Speaker 10: I feel like because he was like biting my nipple
- 52:23Speaker 10: completely off. I was like, I can't do this similar,
- 52:27Speaker 10: you know, but no, like I said, you learn on
- 52:29Speaker 10: the job as far as like diapers and you know,
- 52:32Speaker 10: making sure the baby sleeps and like burping and all
- 52:35Speaker 10: that stuff. Like it was like a I was so
- 52:38Speaker 10: young and married and I was just like, all right,
- 52:43Speaker 10: I just have to learn to do this. And I
- 52:45Speaker 10: was the eldest of all my siblings. There's five of us.
- 52:48Speaker 10: I'm like, hold on, I said, five of us.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Yeah, right, count on the fingers.
- 52:52Speaker 3: I'm the eldest.
- 52:52Speaker 10: Then my brother he's twenty seven, and then I have
- 52:55Speaker 10: twin sisters that are eighteen, and then I have a
- 52:58Speaker 10: brother that six yeah.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Six. Wow, there's a lot of us.
- 53:05Speaker 10: So yeah, I'm the eldest, so I'm I had to
- 53:08Speaker 10: be the responsible one and you know, take care of others.
- 53:11Speaker 10: So for me, like having a kid was like watching
- 53:14Speaker 10: my siblings. But it's it's more of a like a
- 53:18Speaker 10: closer connection in bond, you know, you know as a
- 53:22Speaker 10: mother that you have when you have your child.
- 53:25Speaker 3: You know, it's like a.
- 53:27Speaker 10: Unconditional, innocent, pure love that it's so hard to explain
- 53:33Speaker 10: because you just it just happens, like literally, you know
- 53:37Speaker 10: as soon as you're pregnant and you feel like the
- 53:39Speaker 10: first kick and.
- 53:39Speaker 3: You're like, oh my gosh, I just love her or
- 53:42Speaker 3: him or.
- 53:42Speaker 1: You know, yes, I do know.
- 53:44Speaker 10: It's like undescribable. I can't even describe how it is
- 53:48Speaker 10: to have a kid. That's why I feel like kids
- 53:50Speaker 10: are blessings. And I'm good with the eighth that we have, though.
- 53:55Speaker 1: You're like, I'm good, I don't need four more, Deonta,
- 53:58Speaker 1: so we're rap it up. I one hundred percent. That's
- 54:03Speaker 1: a lot.
- 54:04Speaker 3: I mean a lot.
- 54:05Speaker 1: That's a lot like you guys. I mean I'm all
- 54:08Speaker 1: about like practicing to make the kid. That's always fun.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I encourage you and Deontay to continue doing that, but
- 54:15Speaker 1: we want to see everything else that you start coming
- 54:18Speaker 1: out with. So I want to take a quick break
- 54:20Speaker 1: and then I want to come back and talk to
- 54:22Speaker 1: you about a few more things. If that's okay, Absolutely,
- 54:24Speaker 1: we'll be right back with Telly Swift. We are back
- 54:30Speaker 1: with Telly Swift. So I definitely agree with you and
- 54:35Speaker 1: the kids being such a gift. And I feel like
- 54:38Speaker 1: if if you can be a mom, when you become
- 54:40Speaker 1: a mom, you become a superhero because they are the
- 54:44Speaker 1: whole reason for why you do what you do every
- 54:47Speaker 1: single day, every decision you make, every you know, business
- 54:52Speaker 1: venture that you go into. You know, I'm sure you
- 54:54Speaker 1: think about what you want to do, but ultimately it's like,
- 54:57Speaker 1: how do I set my kid up for years to come?
- 55:01Speaker 1: So I know that you were also on a reality
- 55:05Speaker 1: TV show? I do reality TV. It's very weird. It's
- 55:10Speaker 1: very strange. You sit there and you have to watch
- 55:13Speaker 1: things back and you're like, I remember that differently when
- 55:16Speaker 1: you did right you, I hold up, this looks a
- 55:19Speaker 1: little different from what I remember. Was there a reason
- 55:23Speaker 1: why you were like, yeah, this sounds fun, Like let's
- 55:25Speaker 1: do Wags Atlanta and you know, see what it's all about?
- 55:28Speaker 3: Like what was your experience like reality TV?
- 55:31Speaker 10: Like I said, I've been modeling since I was three
- 55:33Speaker 10: years old, and reality TV living in LA always came
- 55:38Speaker 10: to like my attention or always came on my table
- 55:42Speaker 10: of like, hey, do you want to do basketball?
- 55:44Speaker 3: Wise? Do you want to do love and hip hop?
- 55:46Speaker 10: I'm like, one, I'm not dating someone that was in basketball,
- 55:50Speaker 10: so basketball wives for me wouldn't have.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Work, right, that doesn't make sense.
- 55:54Speaker 10: I'm not like a performer. I don't do music. Or
- 55:58Speaker 10: I can't even dance, so I'm like, that doesn't work.
- 56:01Speaker 10: And then when Wags hit me up, I was already
- 56:04Speaker 10: with Deontae and I wanted more so outside of myself.
- 56:09Speaker 10: I wanted people to see him outside of his job,
- 56:13Speaker 10: which is a boxer, Like you know, people need to
- 56:16Speaker 10: see him outside of you know, being aggressive and beating
- 56:21Speaker 10: asked for a living. So I was just like, this
- 56:24Speaker 10: would be good for you and us as a couple,
- 56:27Speaker 10: you know, and so people could see like how much
- 56:30Speaker 10: of a father you are and what like you're funny
- 56:33Speaker 10: or goofy because people just see him like talking shit
- 56:37Speaker 10: and getting asked and I'm like, right, all of who
- 56:39Speaker 10: you are, you know. So I wanted people to see
- 56:43Speaker 10: like us as a couple, like our foundation, and him
- 56:47Speaker 10: more so like as an individual and not like a boxer.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Did you feel like you got that from the show?
- 56:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you know it's crazy.
- 56:55Speaker 10: He actually proposed to me on the show like that
- 56:57Speaker 10: was the finale of the show, and I ended up
- 56:59Speaker 10: getting press on the show. So like my whole storyline
- 57:03Speaker 10: from the beginning of like when the show aired initially,
- 57:07Speaker 10: like I had I wouldn't even call it beef, but
- 57:11Speaker 10: I had like I guess a misunderstanding with one of
- 57:15Speaker 10: the girls on the show, and that was completely gone.
- 57:18Speaker 10: That was completely gone, and my whole story was getting
- 57:22Speaker 10: the ring because I got pregnant before I wanted to
- 57:24Speaker 10: get pregnant, and that was the whole show. So it
- 57:27Speaker 10: was like completely when I got pregnant, and it was
- 57:30Speaker 10: crazy because he told them and I lost a baby
- 57:33Speaker 10: a year before that, Like, we lost the baby a
- 57:35Speaker 10: year before that.
- 57:35Speaker 1: So sorry, Taly, I'm so sorry.
- 57:38Speaker 10: Got a blessing in return, so I'm I'm happy with
- 57:41Speaker 10: my daughter now. But when we lost the baby, I
- 57:44Speaker 10: didn't want and I lost the baby like I want
- 57:47Speaker 10: to say, like three or four days before I found
- 57:49Speaker 10: out the sex, so it was like four I was
- 57:51Speaker 10: like almost I want to say, like a little over
- 57:54Speaker 10: four months or just getting to four months.
- 57:57Speaker 3: So I was already like showing visibly pregnant, and so
- 58:01Speaker 3: I didn't want to tell.
- 58:02Speaker 10: Like the producers, because you know, once you tell them something,
- 58:05Speaker 10: they're making a story out.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Of it, right.
- 58:07Speaker 10: I was like, I don't want to tell them yet,
- 58:09Speaker 10: because like what if something happens and then I have
- 58:12Speaker 10: to deal with all the people that's going to know that.
- 58:14Speaker 10: I was pregnant and then I lost another baby, and
- 58:17Speaker 10: I didn't want that to be like something that I
- 58:20Speaker 10: had to be traumatized and lived with again, you know.
- 58:23Speaker 10: And he was just so excited that I was pregnant
- 58:27Speaker 10: again that he just told the producers and I'm like,
- 58:29Speaker 10: oh my gosh, all right, like now I can't stress.
- 58:32Speaker 10: And you know, reality TV is stressful, Like they've been
- 58:36Speaker 10: inituations that you don't necessarily want to be in or
- 58:39Speaker 10: don't want to necessarily like face, I guess. And I
- 58:44Speaker 10: was just in situations that I really didn't care to
- 58:47Speaker 10: be in, you know, because I was pregnant, and I'm like,
- 58:50Speaker 10: I don't want to stress and lose this baby for
- 58:53Speaker 10: this conversation with a girl that I can care less about,
- 58:56Speaker 10: you know, yeah, I do. I just that part of
- 58:59Speaker 10: the reality I didn't care too much about because like
- 59:02Speaker 10: they pretty much have control over your likeliness, and like
- 59:06Speaker 10: who you are as a person or what you portray
- 59:08Speaker 10: on TV is not really who you are in real life.
- 59:11Speaker 10: Like reality TV is what they the producers, the you know,
- 59:15Speaker 10: the showrunners or whatever, what they want to what they
- 59:18Speaker 10: want to produce. So it's kind of like you don't
- 59:21Speaker 10: really have control over that so that's the hard part
- 59:24Speaker 10: about reality TV in a sense where you don't have control. Luckily,
- 59:29Speaker 10: with my situation, it was a little bit different because
- 59:31Speaker 10: I got pregnant, So yeah, my storyline was more so
- 59:35Speaker 10: like Okay, now that you're pregnant, you can't like just
- 59:39Speaker 10: be a girlfriend all your life, you know. So that
- 59:42Speaker 10: was kind of like, all right, well, what do you
- 59:43Speaker 10: want him to do? And I'm like, okay, here he
- 59:46Speaker 10: is like trying to buy me a bigger car SUV
- 59:49Speaker 10: and I'm like, okay, but when are we getting married? Like,
- 59:52Speaker 10: you know, I have a car, Like we have cars,
- 59:55Speaker 10: Like what are we doing car shopping? Like we don't
- 59:57Speaker 10: need cars, you know. So then that became my story
- 1:00:02Speaker 10: of like here we are going crib shopping, but where's
- 1:00:06Speaker 10: my ring? Like right here we are going, you know,
- 1:00:09Speaker 10: bracelet shopping, but where's my ring?
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: So everything was like okay, but my ring? Okay, but
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: my ring.
- 1:00:15Speaker 10: But in reality, like in real life, we were already
- 1:00:18Speaker 10: talking about marriage way before I even got pregnant, So
- 1:00:22Speaker 10: the show kind of made it look like I was
- 1:00:24Speaker 10: just nagging about this ring that we already discussed years
- 1:00:28Speaker 10: before I even got pregnant. But it was kind of
- 1:00:31Speaker 10: like what they wanted to push.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Of course, because reality TV, what will be the most
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: entertaining and what will give the audience a strong opinion
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: and reaction to this at the end of the day,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: even though it's quote unquote real things that are happening.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: You know, you're filming I don't know how long Wags
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: filmed for vander Pump Rules. Films for like four months,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: every single day, eight hours a day sometimes, and then
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: you chop that down to an hour episode for however
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: many you see very little and that's that's hard. I'm
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: sure it was hard for you too. You're watching this
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: show and you're like, this is entertaining as fuck, Like
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I dig it, but then people talking about you, you're like,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: I don't even recognize the person that they're talking about, and.
- 1:01:15Speaker 10: It's me right now, one hundred and ten percent completely
- 1:01:18Speaker 10: get it. And like I said, when we started filming,
- 1:01:22Speaker 10: it was like the person that I was filming with
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: I didn't really care to film with, and they knew.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Oh, so they had you two together all the time.
- 1:01:32Speaker 10: Then right, like, well, the person that like I was
- 1:01:34Speaker 10: cool with on the show, we were cool, so it
- 1:01:37Speaker 10: was kind of like me and her, But then you know,
- 1:01:39Speaker 10: the other girl that I wasn't cool with, she kind
- 1:01:42Speaker 10: of teamed up with someone and it was kind of
- 1:01:44Speaker 10: like a one of the girls came to like a
- 1:01:47Speaker 10: married man's house in like lingerie, and I was like, oh.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: I didn't get the memo.
- 1:01:51Speaker 10: I didn't know this is what we're doing, you know,
- 1:01:53Speaker 10: and there's married men in here, there's men in relationships
- 1:01:57Speaker 10: in here, Like why are you coming with your titties out?
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Girl? Like this not cute or classy or do this?
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:02:04Speaker 10: So that started drama, and like all that was on
- 1:02:08Speaker 10: like the beginning, you know, episodes and stuff like that,
- 1:02:11Speaker 10: so it kind of like that kind of faded out,
- 1:02:14Speaker 10: and you know, then it became the story of like
- 1:02:18Speaker 10: what are you guys going to do with your relationship?
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Are you guys going to be.
- 1:02:21Speaker 10: Together, you know, or are you guys just gonna have
- 1:02:25Speaker 10: a baby and you know be together.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Did you feel pressured from producers or did Deonta feel
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: any pressure?
- 1:02:31Speaker 10: I honestly feel like there was a lot of pressure
- 1:02:34Speaker 10: going on, but like Deonte and me are both people
- 1:02:38Speaker 10: that like aren't going to let people tell us what
- 1:02:41Speaker 10: to do. So it was kind of you know, there's
- 1:02:44Speaker 10: certain certain scenes in the episodes where, for example, like
- 1:02:48Speaker 10: they wanted me to take a pregnancy test, so I
- 1:02:51Speaker 10: was like, okay, cool, and they were like, all right,
- 1:02:54Speaker 10: this is how you know, you're going to present it
- 1:02:55Speaker 10: to him. I'm like, okay, what do I look like
- 1:02:57Speaker 10: just presenting him a stick in like our row, you
- 1:03:00Speaker 10: know what I'm saying in.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: The house, like you know.
- 1:03:02Speaker 10: So I'm like, this isn't what I would typically do,
- 1:03:04Speaker 10: but it's kind of like, all right, well, We're going
- 1:03:06Speaker 10: to have to show that I'm pregnant somehow, some way.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: It was kind of like the way.
- 1:03:11Speaker 10: And even though we already knew I was pregnant, like
- 1:03:14Speaker 10: we had to kind of act surprised, you know, like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 10: oh my god, right, you're pregnant. We're pregnant, And you know,
- 1:03:20Speaker 10: he was more surprised than I was, because I was like,
- 1:03:22Speaker 10: I know, I'm pregnant, you know what, I'm sorry. So
- 1:03:25Speaker 10: it was it's like that type of stuff. Or like
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: for example, like the girl that I didn't get along with,
- 1:03:32Speaker 10: you know, they'd be like.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Oh, you have a lunch date with someone, and I'm like,
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: who is it?
- 1:03:38Speaker 10: Because you guys know, I don't want to film with
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: who I don't want to film with and then and
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: I'm like, okay, well, I'm just letting you know that
- 1:03:44Speaker 10: this is how I'm coming because I'm not about to
- 1:03:46Speaker 10: stress out because I'm pregnant, you know. Like there's certain
- 1:03:49Speaker 10: times that I was like, Okay, well, if you guys
- 1:03:51Speaker 10: are going to have a group filming situation and she's
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: going to be there, like, I don't want to argue today,
- 1:03:56Speaker 10: so I'd rather just not go.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: So would you ever do it again? Would you ever
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: if if if someone came to you and said, we
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: want you on a reality show or do you think
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: you've had enough?
- 1:04:03Speaker 10: I would do it if I had control over like
- 1:04:08Speaker 10: I guess producing like uh producers on the show, where
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: I have control over what goes out, I would do that.
- 1:04:17Speaker 10: But as far as just like being a talent on
- 1:04:19Speaker 10: the show, I probably wouldn't do it again because it's
- 1:04:22Speaker 10: just unless it's like a positive like woman empowerment show,
- 1:04:26Speaker 10: then I would do that. Like I get that there
- 1:04:29Speaker 10: has to be some type of drama, but not drama
- 1:04:31Speaker 10: to the point where it breaks up families or like, yeah,
- 1:04:34Speaker 10: that type of drama.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: It becomes a very a very negative space. If you
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: can't compartmentalize real life from real life. I guess you know,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: unless you're you're filming, you put that hat on, you
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: know what the drill is, and then when you go
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: home you can separate the two. It can become a
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: very toxic environment. So I get it. And when you're
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: going toes with women all day and you know we're
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: all sitting here talking about how we're supposed to lift
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: each other up, but then I'm supposed to drag this
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: bitch right, it's kind of a mind fuck. And yeah,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: you you have a term that I've never heard before, fempowerist,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Like what does that mean for for listeners who have
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: never heard that before.
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: Initially, when I trademarked the word fem power is, I
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: wanted to create like an app for women to empower
- 1:05:25Speaker 10: women to just be like, you know, great and mentally
- 1:05:30Speaker 10: be great too. It's not just physically, because it had like,
- 1:05:34Speaker 10: well what I initially got it for, Like I wanted
- 1:05:37Speaker 10: to do fitness, fitness tips, dating tips, motivational daily quotes
- 1:05:45Speaker 10: just like every dud's and don'ts, and relationships or when
- 1:05:49Speaker 10: it like like you said, when is it okay to
- 1:05:51Speaker 10: present your kid? Or one is it okay to burb
- 1:05:55Speaker 10: or fart in front of a man or just you know,
- 1:05:57Speaker 10: like little I I would want, you know, coming out
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: of a marriage or a relationship or just being single,
- 1:06:07Speaker 10: you know, like things that you I feel like women
- 1:06:11Speaker 10: need to know coming into relationships or just being a woman.
- 1:06:15Speaker 10: Like you know, there's a lot of women that don't
- 1:06:17Speaker 10: know how to be lady like or don't have you know, etiquette,
- 1:06:21Speaker 10: and so it was kind of like one of those
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: type of situations. But the app developer that I had
- 1:06:28Speaker 10: it didn't work out, so that I have yet to do.
- 1:06:32Speaker 10: So I trademark the word, and you know, now I'm
- 1:06:35Speaker 10: kind of like, do I want to get into that
- 1:06:38Speaker 10: field of apps or more so because I love clothes
- 1:06:42Speaker 10: and fashion so much that I kind of want to
- 1:06:45Speaker 10: turn the fem powers brand into like an ath leisure
- 1:06:49Speaker 10: like where for women that extenuates like your curves and oh.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I love that, but I have a flat ass. Can
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: you do something that accentuates my flat ass too?
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: Yeah? The lifers and everything, girl, don't worry.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. I love the word fempowerist,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: and I think it's amazing too. The app ideas obviously genius,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: but to turn it into an as leisure line because
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: we're all out here wanting to like look like we
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: worked out or we really did work out and then
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: put it on with some heels and like go to
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: work at the clurb.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Well right exactly.
- 1:07:22Speaker 10: And I kind of wanted to be like, you know,
- 1:07:26Speaker 10: Tom would Tom Brown, Like it's like they have like sweats,
- 1:07:29Speaker 10: but you could still wear it out the club, or
- 1:07:31Speaker 10: you could still wear it to the airport and be
- 1:07:34Speaker 10: fashionable but still be comfy.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: And that's kind of what I want.
- 1:07:38Speaker 10: But more so instead of fashion and comfy, I want
- 1:07:41Speaker 10: to add, like, you know, like a woman. So I
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: want to insinuate like you know, underboob or like butt
- 1:07:49Speaker 10: lift or like curbs, like you know, to where the
- 1:07:52Speaker 10: stitching like makes.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: You look more curvy than you naturally are.
- 1:07:56Speaker 10: Or just like just to extenuate like just being a
- 1:08:00Speaker 10: woman and being powerful. And I kind of wanted to
- 1:08:03Speaker 10: go towards that as opposed to the app because I
- 1:08:05Speaker 10: feel like, you know, there's people that have apps, and
- 1:08:07Speaker 10: there's people that have athletes or where too, but like
- 1:08:10Speaker 10: I wanted to solely focus on like womenism and just
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: like being a strong, powerful woman.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I love that I love everything about what you just said,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: and I think that you are incredibly inspiring from your
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: work ethic. Of course, I think it's important when a
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: woman is doing something great that we let them know
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: they're doing great. So I want you to tell our
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: listeners and me how we can get involved in your
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Boxing Wags Association.
- 1:08:38Speaker 10: Yes, so Boxing Wags we have the women of boxing.
- 1:08:42Speaker 10: Like like I said, we do like all types of
- 1:08:45Speaker 10: different events. The last event I did, I collaborated with Cookies.
- 1:08:50Speaker 10: Cookies is a cannabis company and we had a toy
- 1:08:53Speaker 10: drive for the children and we donated toys to children
- 1:08:57Speaker 10: that were in need, so I collaborated with them. Before that,
- 1:09:01Speaker 10: I had an event in Vegas with Versace and Balenciaga,
- 1:09:06Speaker 10: so where we shop and the proceeds go to charity
- 1:09:10Speaker 10: of their choice. So we just collaborate with different walks
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: of people or different whatever is going on at the month.
- 1:09:17Speaker 10: Next event I probably because I have the Fragrance going
- 1:09:20Speaker 10: on right now, so it's like twenty million things twenty
- 1:09:23Speaker 10: million times.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: But the next event will probably be I want to
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: I want fingers crossed to probably be around like March,
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: okay March or something like that.
- 1:09:33Speaker 10: But all all the events and information you can find
- 1:09:37Speaker 10: at Boxing Wags Association on Instagram and our website is
- 1:09:43Speaker 10: Boxingwagsassociation dot org. Everything that we do or have going
- 1:09:48Speaker 10: on is on both of those pages.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Amazing, dude, thank you so much for joining me on
