- 0:01Most people believe that both the impulsive desire and the
- 0:05impulse to anger are both inherent deeply established
- 0:10reactions that are either completely impossible or
- 0:14virtually impossible to overcome and remove from one's life.
- 0:20They say that one may succeed in controlling outer expressions of
- 0:23anger through various techniques and training, but that the
- 0:28impulse to anger and the inner reaction that it causes remains,
- 0:34this can have a variety of effects on the being including
- 0:37negative results in terms of physical health, vital energy
- 0:43and mental balance. It is also true that so long as
- 0:48one remains fixated on the ego personality and the vital desire
- 0:53soul. That the individual is subject
- 0:56to the play of the three gunas of Nature.
- 0:59And thus will experience the impulses associated with rajas,
- 1:04in the form of grasping and attachment, the impulse to anger
- 1:09arises out of this action. Particularly when a desire has
- 1:14been frustrated or the will of posed in some form or fashion,
- 1:20the underlying provocative incident need not be a major
- 1:24issue. Once anger, arises it can
- 1:28explode regardless of how minor the provocation may have been.
- 1:34The famous story from the Mahabharata illustrates that
- 1:38anger cannot be controlled through mental Concepts,
- 1:42dronacharya was teaching the princes, the hundred core of Oz.
- 1:45When the five pandavas and the lesson of the day was not to
- 1:50become angry. Every one of the students
- 1:53responded affirmatively when asked that they had learned the
- 1:56lesson, not to become angry. Except the eldest, the Future
- 2:02King and Emperor. Yudhishthira who indicated he
- 2:06had not learned the lesson. this went on for several days
- 2:11repetition until finally on the third day dronacharya in an up
- 2:16Rush of anger struck yudhishthira this was a death
- 2:20sentence for dronacharya as no one strikes, the Crown Prince
- 2:25and gets away with it. At that moment, yudhisthira
- 2:30remark that he had. In fact, now learned the lesson
- 2:33not to become angry, he was able to withstand the blow, not react
- 2:40and not take any steps to punish the revered teacher who had
- 2:43unfortunately lost his temper. Various disciplines seek to
- 2:49control anger. Most of them find that anger
- 2:53management. May suppress the external signs.
- 2:57But nevertheless, the anger reaction prevails internally.
- 3:02This is a temporary success. But at an enormous inner cost
- 3:06physically emotionally and mentally SRI aurobindo and the
- 3:11mother propose, a different solution.
- 3:15By Shifting the standpoint from that of the ego personality to
- 3:19the Divine standpoint, the provocation to anger are no
- 3:23longer provocative. One sees everything in a new
- 3:27light and reacts from a totally different perspective, this can
- 3:32be done either through the discovery and bringing forward
- 3:36of the psychic being hidden in the secret heart, which is a
- 3:40portion of the Divine embodied in the individual being or else
- 3:45through Rising above the mental level, into the spiritual
- 3:48atmosphere. That joins the Consciousness
- 3:52with the universal divine. SRI aurobindo observes quote.
- 3:58It is true that anger and strife are in the nature of the human
- 4:01vital, and do not go easily. But what is important is to have
- 4:06the will to change and the clear perception that these things
- 4:10must go. If that will and perception or
- 4:13there then in the end they will go the most important help to it
- 4:19is here. Also for the psychic being to
- 4:22grow within for that. Brings a certain kind Lena's
- 4:26patients, charity towards all and one no longer regards
- 4:31everything. From the point of view of one's
- 4:33own ego and it's pain or pleasure, likings and disliking.
- 4:37'S, the second help is the growth of the inner peace which
- 4:42outward things cannot trouble with the peace.
- 4:46Comes a wide calm wideness in which one perceives all as
- 4:52oneself and quote, reference SRI aurobindo and the mother living
