- 0:00Speaker 1: The opportunity to come here to Alabama knowing this program
- 0:03Speaker 1: and what the history was all about. But it just
- 0:06Speaker 1: it just felt like, you know, this is something that
- 0:08Speaker 1: was too good of an opportunity and it's just been
- 0:11Speaker 1: an awesome experience here these first three to four months.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Stupid garden games, language, no memory, no simple.
- 0:31Speaker 3: It's ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to another episode of Busting
- 0:43Speaker 3: with the Boys. This is episode two seven four. The
- 0:48Speaker 3: boys just got back from the University of Alabama. And
- 0:51Speaker 3: what are we driving while we were there? Will we
- 0:52Speaker 3: what do we go down? What are we on the highway? Hitting?
- 0:55Speaker 4: And we made a heavy Silverado? Boys, it is This
- 0:59Speaker 4: is a Chevy Truck podcast. Chevy trucks are the greatest
- 1:02Speaker 4: trucks ever built, and our good friends at Chevrolet have
- 1:05Speaker 4: been a big part of the Bust and family and
- 1:07Speaker 4: even in our personal lives. You guys know, I flex
- 1:09Speaker 4: every week. I got the ZR two, the Chevy Silverado,
- 1:12Speaker 4: longtime awesome partner of the show. A truck with commanding,
- 1:16Speaker 4: an unstoppable grit, legendary capability and dependability to so find
- 1:21Speaker 4: out for yourself, like so many of our boys do,
- 1:24Speaker 4: head to Chevy Dot com check out all the Chevy
- 1:26Speaker 4: Truck grit build your own Silverado, and check out what
- 1:29Speaker 4: current offers are out there during Chevy Truck season for
- 1:32Speaker 4: do it your Self projects, d IY to all road trips,
- 1:37Speaker 4: off road adventures, tailgates, whatever your thing is, it all
- 1:41Speaker 4: starts with a Chevy truck.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I will say, I used the Chevy this weekend to
- 1:47Speaker 5: move that thing right smooth?
- 1:50Speaker 4: Yeah, why are you saying I drove a Chevy this weekend?
- 1:53Speaker 4: Who's Chevy did you drive?
- 1:54Speaker 5: I drove? I drove will Chevy.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yes, sir, sir, let me use it to move this weekend.
- 2:00Speaker 5: And it fit all of my big stuff, like my
- 2:03Speaker 5: bed and my dresser and all that stuff, and it
- 2:05Speaker 5: was like riding on a cloud.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It's nice, right, it was really nice. Bro.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I told me the only stipulation because I got a text.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I was like, hey, He's like, hey, I put the
- 2:14Speaker 4: boxes by your garage. I was like, the only stipulation
- 2:17Speaker 4: I need, The only payback I need is for you
- 2:19Speaker 4: to get rid of those boxes. You know, your boy,
- 2:21Speaker 4: I get lazy at times. Boxes one of my Achilles heels,
- 2:24Speaker 4: so I had. It was like a back extension box.
- 2:27Speaker 4: It's been in there, for.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Since December, since December.
- 2:31Speaker 5: And I also put twenty dollars a gas and cleaned
- 2:33Speaker 5: out your car a little bit too.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I did notice, and I thank you for that. What
- 2:36Speaker 4: was that little thing that you put in the cup holder?
- 2:39Speaker 4: A little black It was like a black leather looking piece.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know.
- 2:43Speaker 3: That was on the floor, Okay, I didn't know.
- 2:45Speaker 4: If it's like something happened, you're like, oh, let me
- 2:47Speaker 4: just put this here.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I know what it is. I was.
- 2:49Speaker 5: I told all my buddies that were helping me move him, like,
- 2:51Speaker 5: do not fuck this truck up, because it is my life.
- 2:55Speaker 3: If it is, it drives like a dream.
- 2:57Speaker 5: It does.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Hey, Yeah, it's fantastic. Going into Will's truck is like
- 3:00Speaker 3: walking into a time capsule of the year prior. Well.
- 3:02Speaker 3: You can literally find all the stuff, everything you need,
- 3:05Speaker 3: every piece of Mercher's ever come out, every sample of
- 3:08Speaker 3: Merches ever come out, the old files. I'm pretty sure
- 3:11Speaker 3: I saw Will's last three years of tax returns in
- 3:13Speaker 3: his truck last time I was in there. It's incredible
- 3:16Speaker 3: the amount of storage you can put in that ZR two.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And it's a quick boy too. It's a performer. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 4: before we start, I do want to shout Oh you
- 3:23Speaker 4: had to no, I was gonna say. I want to
- 3:25Speaker 4: shout out tornadoes hitting Nebraska and Iowa over the weekend,
- 3:30Speaker 4: some bad ones. There's video footage out there. They were crazy.
- 3:33Speaker 3: And so we did a T.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Shirt fundraiser to raise money where one hundred percent of
- 3:37Speaker 4: our net proceeds are going to I think there's four
- 3:39Speaker 4: local charities in Nebraska and then there's going to be
- 3:41Speaker 4: a local one in Iowa. And shout out everybody who
- 3:45Speaker 4: showed up and bought a shirt and donated. We raised
- 3:47Speaker 4: fifty thousand dollars almost sixty thousand combined between Nebraska and Iowa.
- 3:52Speaker 4: And not only that, who I want to shout out
- 3:54Speaker 4: as a couple of our sponsors, because look, I know
- 3:56Speaker 4: we do a lot of ads at times and it
- 3:58Speaker 4: can be annoying, but honestly, without your guys is without
- 4:02Speaker 4: you guys showing up and without your guys support, the
- 4:04Speaker 4: brand awareness that we have and the brand loyalty that
- 4:07Speaker 4: we have. We are with a couple of partnerships, Duke
- 4:09Speaker 4: Cannon and True Classic. And the moment that we had
- 4:13Speaker 4: posted about the T shirt donation going up, the True
- 4:16Speaker 4: Classic CEO hit up Taylor and myself wanting to send
- 4:20Speaker 4: boxes of shirts and clothing to these local charitable spots.
- 4:24Speaker 4: And then Duke Cannon also hit us up, wanting to
- 4:27Speaker 4: stand like they have these gun cases where they put
- 4:29Speaker 4: a bunch of products, soabs deodeor and high hygienic products.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Is that right, hygienic hygienic products, and they're winning the
- 4:36Speaker 4: ship stuff. So not only did we raise a bunch
- 4:38Speaker 4: of money to send to these local charities, also resources
- 4:41Speaker 4: and supplies from Duke Cannon and True Class that were
- 4:44Speaker 4: going to these spots as well. So I just want
- 4:45Speaker 4: to shout out those partnerships that we're in because I
- 4:48Speaker 4: thought that that was major them, you know, seeing the
- 4:51Speaker 4: boys post about the shirts and then wanting to get involved,
- 4:54Speaker 4: it was awesome. It was really cool to see. So
- 4:56Speaker 4: I just want to shot them.
- 4:57Speaker 3: The thing that's wild about those two sponsors coming out
- 4:59Speaker 3: of the woodwork, it's not like we reached out to
- 5:00Speaker 3: them and were like you need to do X, Y
- 5:02Speaker 3: and Z. That text from a Ryan at True Classic
- 5:05Speaker 3: just came in a group chat with like it was
- 5:06Speaker 3: literally like a book, Like that text you get when
- 5:09Speaker 3: you're out with the boys from your girlfriend that makes
- 5:11Speaker 3: you nervous that big of a text. Yeah, And it
- 5:13Speaker 3: was essentially like these are the resources you guys have
- 5:15Speaker 3: that we can give blah blah blah, all these things.
- 5:17Speaker 3: It was really cool to see. And that is I mean,
- 5:20Speaker 3: like will say, we have a lot of sponsors sometimes.
- 5:21Speaker 4: But Ryan's like, this is what a partnership looks like.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And it just just fires you up there. You know,
- 5:26Speaker 4: the boys show.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Up wearing all True Classic stuff today.
- 5:28Speaker 4: You look great. You've been doing nothing but repping the
- 5:31Speaker 4: True Classic I love. But you finally found some jeans.
- 5:33Speaker 3: That finally it's been my whole entire life. Yeah, my
- 5:37Speaker 3: whole entire life. Thirteenth, thirteenth Christmas, got some tight jeans.
- 5:41Speaker 3: My brother got a pair of tise jeans, and I
- 5:43Speaker 3: was like fired up about it. It's like when tight
- 5:44Speaker 3: jeans were hitting the rage, everyone was all about it. Yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 3: And I got a pair and I put those boys on.
- 5:49Speaker 3: They didn't go past my kneecaps. That was so upset.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I thought I was about to change the game at
- 5:53Speaker 3: my middle school that next day. And it did not
- 5:55Speaker 3: work out for your boy. So thank you to True
- 5:57Speaker 3: Classic on that situation as well. Dude, the tornadoes were
- 6:00Speaker 3: wild because I heard obviously the Knelt Boys you see there, Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 3: I saw their stuff going on to you, and I
- 6:05Speaker 3: saw that They're like, hey, we're going I thought they
- 6:07Speaker 3: said Kansas, but they're like, we're going to We're Oh,
- 6:09Speaker 3: I thought this at Oklahoma. We're going there's like the
- 6:11Speaker 3: worst storm in ten years. We're gonna go tornado chase.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And I was falling along because that was some interesting stuff.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And I'm seeing all these insane tornadoes, and like, twenty
- 6:20Speaker 3: minutes later, I go on the burden on your like
- 6:22Speaker 3: Nebraska destroyed.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Yeah, chair, I'm like, oh my gosh, because I'm looking
- 6:26Speaker 4: at their stuff kind of after the Nebras stuff's going on,
- 6:29Speaker 4: I'm kind of thinking, like, I mean, yeah, I get
- 6:31Speaker 4: their storm chasing, but people are losing people are like
- 6:35Speaker 4: losing everything everything, which is uh yeah, yeah, different, a
- 6:39Speaker 4: couple of different worlds happening at the same time.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Have you ever seen a tornion in your life?
- 6:44Speaker 4: Not close at all like that, but obviously Missouri that
- 6:48Speaker 4: you get. We get quite a few tornadoes, but I've
- 6:50Speaker 4: never actually seen one swirling like in front of my eyes.
- 6:54Speaker 4: You just know when one touches down, like Nashville a
- 6:57Speaker 4: few years ago when one touched down here in the east.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Like you hear sirens and everything else, but I'm not
- 7:01Speaker 4: visually seeing anything. You just you know the damage that
- 7:04Speaker 4: those things fucking do.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Did I remember I was in that georgetownhouse when that
- 7:08Speaker 3: tornado hit. Yeah, and we're like town that, we're going
- 7:11Speaker 3: to bed, and there she was looking on Instagram. She's like, oh,
- 7:14Speaker 3: there's a lot of like tornado warnings tonight, and I
- 7:16Speaker 3: was like, that will be fine, that's nothing's gonna happen.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I would sleep. I supped through the alarms and everything.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I know why we could have died. Yeah, I could
- 7:22Speaker 3: have absolutely died. Woke up and that was a crazy situation.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yes, bro, they fucking yes, it's a good thing. I
- 7:29Speaker 4: feel like I've never actually seen one because then you
- 7:31Speaker 4: feel like you're little close. It would be cool to
- 7:33Speaker 4: kind of see one in action. But obviously if it's
- 7:36Speaker 4: like in a field.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Zone and controlled envis yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel that
- 7:39Speaker 3: no one cares about. It's like state landers and right
- 7:41Speaker 3: right right right, like damn, look at that. And the
- 7:43Speaker 3: most politically correct way you could possibly say, we'd love
- 7:45Speaker 3: to see a tornado because it would be cool to
- 7:47Speaker 3: go storm chasing, but.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Because you know, it's like you and your old man
- 7:50Speaker 4: my dad all the time in Bad Guy, everybody's rushing
- 7:52Speaker 4: down to the basement, but my old man's like standing
- 7:54Speaker 4: outside wanting to see the storm, and you're kind of curious, like,
- 7:56Speaker 4: oh yeah, how close. So everybody's attracted the getting as
- 7:59Speaker 4: close as you can and the death without actually experiencing.
- 8:01Speaker 3: It right right, and to Arizona, there's no tornados or
- 8:04Speaker 3: nothing like that.
- 8:05Speaker 4: You have you outside in Nashville's Nashville, your first one.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Nashal is my first time ever like experiencing the thought
- 8:11Speaker 3: of a tornado coming near me. Yeah. I think in
- 8:13Speaker 3: Michigan one time, there's like a siren that went off,
- 8:15Speaker 3: but there was never a tornadother touchdown. Yeah, I thought
- 8:17Speaker 3: that was a myth.
- 8:18Speaker 4: It's like that Midwest area, Oklahoma's like Tornado Valley.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I can't believe people live there. It's a
- 8:25Speaker 3: crazy just to live in that area and it happens
- 8:27Speaker 3: every single year. Yeah, you just know right around April
- 8:30Speaker 3: May that things are coming down the pike. Tornado season
- 8:32Speaker 3: you can't control. Yeah, just wild, absolutely wild.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Other things On the weekend, the NFL draft took place.
- 8:40Speaker 4: How do you feel like the boys in two tone
- 8:42Speaker 4: Blue did?
- 8:44Speaker 3: I didn't know how to feel for I'm gonna if I'm
- 8:46Speaker 3: gonna be as transparent as possible. When that first round
- 8:49Speaker 3: was going down, we were up in Chicago. I was praying,
- 8:51Speaker 3: crossing my fingers for Joell obviously Chicago or not Chicago. Uh,
- 8:55Speaker 3: the Chargers take Joell and I thought, Okay, the next
- 8:58Speaker 3: guy to get is that Ola Fashanaki from from Penn State,
- 9:01Speaker 3: because jac Latham really wasn't on my on my radar.
- 9:03Speaker 3: The only thing I knew about Jacon Latham is this
- 9:05Speaker 3: fourth and five Michigan versus Alabama. And I saw this
- 9:09Speaker 3: kid at the combine and I thought, for how big
- 9:11Speaker 3: this man is? He moves really well, but he played
- 9:13Speaker 3: right tackle. We have a right tackle. So when I
- 9:15Speaker 3: saw that pick come through, my first reaction was, fuck, man,
- 9:18Speaker 3: did get Did we get the right guy? And I
- 9:20Speaker 3: worry because I have, like, what is it not postpartum
- 9:24Speaker 3: PTSD from Isaiah Wilson's and these top tier SEC schools
- 9:30Speaker 3: we all know, like the top tier schools, the top
- 9:32Speaker 3: five squaks. Yeah well yeah, yeah. Unfortunately he was a
- 9:38Speaker 3: guard and he was the pick before me. He was
- 9:39Speaker 3: to pick the year before me tenth overall, but like
- 9:42Speaker 3: these top five college schools, they get a silver spoon
- 9:45Speaker 3: shoved the way up there. Ass Michigan included. Don't get
- 9:47Speaker 3: me wrong, but like and you're kind of like your
- 9:50Speaker 3: hand is held through absolutely everything, so you get worried
- 9:53Speaker 3: about guys. But luckily we're at the University of Alabama
- 9:56Speaker 3: last week right before the draft, and we got to
- 9:58Speaker 3: talk to Tyler Booker and that guy's conversation how he
- 10:02Speaker 3: held himself talking about leadership, talking about speaking things into existence,
- 10:06Speaker 3: just like the process, and where he learned that was
- 10:09Speaker 3: I AMG Academy, which is shout out that shout out
- 10:12Speaker 3: IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida. I actually trained there for the
- 10:16Speaker 3: combine and they were kind of like they weren't fully
- 10:18Speaker 3: finished with everything, but it was it's an establishment. Yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 3: like if you are if you want to be the best,
- 10:22Speaker 3: you need to go there. If you have the opportunity,
- 10:24Speaker 3: you have the skill set to be one of the best,
- 10:25Speaker 3: that's the school you need to go to. And he
- 10:28Speaker 3: was talking about how they have literally have classes on leadership.
- 10:31Speaker 3: So JC Latha, the first thing I do is I
- 10:33Speaker 3: hit up the wiki and I see that this kid
- 10:35Speaker 3: went to IMG. Texted JP the next day like, give
- 10:37Speaker 3: me everything you know about jac Latham and he's like
- 10:39Speaker 3: checks all the boxes. So that fires me up. Now.
- 10:42Speaker 3: The only thing that worries me is I don't know
- 10:44Speaker 3: what he played at IMG, whether it's right tackle or
- 10:46Speaker 3: left tackle. And I know he played right tackle starting
- 10:48Speaker 3: for two years. G starved two years in Alabama at
- 10:51Speaker 3: right tackle, and we need a left tackle. So hopefully
- 10:55Speaker 3: for me personally, that's like the hardest thing in the
- 10:57Speaker 3: world to do, is to switch. It's like riding with
- 10:59Speaker 3: your opposite hand and that's how my body works. But
- 11:01Speaker 3: I've been around other guys that can literally jump from
- 11:04Speaker 3: one side of the next no problem at all.
- 11:06Speaker 4: So are they looking at putting him at starting him
- 11:08Speaker 4: at leftock?
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yeah. I think they came out and they're like, this
- 11:10Speaker 3: is he's a left eckle. If there's a coach to doing, man,
- 11:12Speaker 3: it's Bill Callahan, no question. I'm telling you this dude.
- 11:15Speaker 4: At times you sit back at a vent you're like, man,
- 11:17Speaker 4: they got to you're basically like reliving their college and
- 11:19Speaker 4: he's working with this guy.
- 11:20Speaker 3: But he is a O lineman. Whisper.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Yeah, but I and he's young. It's like him and Scronsky.
- 11:26Speaker 4: He's got like a younger room, a couple of vets
- 11:28Speaker 4: that are early in their second contracts and everything else
- 11:30Speaker 4: to where you don't have like an age vet who's
- 11:32Speaker 4: kind of like maybe resistant to that type of coaching,
- 11:35Speaker 4: that type of style. I feel like coach Calan having
- 11:38Speaker 4: like a younger room who are going to be the starters,
- 11:40Speaker 4: He'll be able to mold them the way you know
- 11:42Speaker 4: he's wanting to mold them for the offense.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I've never met him personally, but I've all like o
- 11:46Speaker 3: line room is like the most unique room in the
- 11:49Speaker 3: entire on the football team. Everyone is so close. There's
- 11:52Speaker 3: so many of you on the field at one time,
- 11:54Speaker 3: and there has to be like some sort of gel
- 11:56Speaker 3: or some sort of chemistry between all five of you
- 11:58Speaker 3: in the entire room. And the who sets the tone
- 12:01Speaker 3: is the offensive line coach.
- 12:02Speaker 4: So I hope, hey there and he sets the tone.
- 12:05Speaker 4: The stories at the CAF tier table and washed it
- 12:07Speaker 4: with the boys from the old line room, how they
- 12:09Speaker 4: just kind of sit your you know, assholes tight because
- 12:11Speaker 4: he just runs to the table.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Like he is the leader of the old line room.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Great, it'd be like shitty, can't play for me, can't
- 12:17Speaker 4: play for me, can't do it. You gotta get fucking
- 12:20Speaker 4: Betty hands like all the stuff. I'd like he's Italian.
- 12:23Speaker 4: He's not Italian at all.
- 12:25Speaker 3: That the Eagles coach? Which one? Who's what's the name
- 12:28Speaker 3: of the Eagles offensive line coach? Dude? I met him
- 12:31Speaker 3: at the combine. He was awesome too, but he literally
- 12:33Speaker 3: talks just like that. Yeah, but he's been he's been
- 12:35Speaker 3: there forever. Yeah, just stoutlin he is. This dude's a og.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Also he's a stud. But yeah, that's what you want, dude.
- 12:43Speaker 3: You want an older, heavier set guy running your old
- 12:46Speaker 3: line room that has like ten key phrases, he says,
- 12:49Speaker 3: on a consistent basis, where all the offensive line can
- 12:52Speaker 3: go behind his back and make fun of the way
- 12:53Speaker 3: he talks. If you had that, yes, you've got the
- 12:56Speaker 3: first piece of the puzzle for the boys. And that
- 12:58Speaker 3: is what they have.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Yes, because it's not like a respect like if coach
- 13:01Speaker 4: Callahan walked up on the conversation to be very much.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he runs that room. Yes, he runs that room. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 13:07Speaker 4: The biggest surprise has to be the Michael Pennis. Yes, dude,
- 13:11Speaker 4: the Michael Pennicks grab that.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Is like the number one. I guess we'll see pick
- 13:15Speaker 3: of all time because I understand the thought process of
- 13:19Speaker 3: what they're doing because the Packers, right, Packers have done
- 13:22Speaker 3: this for I don't know, since they've been a franchise.
- 13:24Speaker 3: It seems like with Farv going into Rogers, Rogers going
- 13:28Speaker 3: into love and having that type of success that they've had.
- 13:31Speaker 3: But the Falcons have so many holes. The Packers, it
- 13:33Speaker 3: seems like forever have had a team established like they've had. Okay,
- 13:37Speaker 3: we have core wide receiver team, we have a core
- 13:39Speaker 3: running backs, we have core defense. We know who our
- 13:41Speaker 3: core guys are. We're pretty put together. We just gotta
- 13:43Speaker 3: make sure a quarterback is always waiting in the back
- 13:46Speaker 3: lines ready to go. With the Falcons, It's like every
- 13:49Speaker 3: news article coming out about the Falcons going into this
- 13:51Speaker 3: draft was they haven't had a rusher since Jonathan Abraham.
- 13:56Speaker 3: They haven't had a guy. They haven't had somebody that
- 13:58Speaker 3: goes in rushes to the power. Somebody gotta worry a war
- 14:00Speaker 3: daddy that you're like, boys, we have to block this guy.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yeah, and you pay one hundred million guaranteed. To Kirk Cousins,
- 14:06Speaker 4: You're like, you're going in this season to win right now.
- 14:08Speaker 3: To win right now, Yes, and so why not add
- 14:11Speaker 3: that piece of the puzzle. And I feel bad for
- 14:12Speaker 3: Michael Pennix Junior because the kid is an incredible talent.
- 14:16Speaker 3: He's gotten through a bunch of adversities at a couple
- 14:18Speaker 3: of knee surgeries, but he still is extremely athletic, extremely
- 14:22Speaker 3: able to move so well, can put balls on an
- 14:24Speaker 3: absolute dime. He was throwing to he was throwing to aliens,
- 14:28Speaker 3: but like you see him all the way up until
- 14:30Speaker 3: the National Championship dice people up, left, right, and center.
- 14:33Speaker 3: And he played on a team that was an underdog
- 14:35Speaker 3: team for I don't know, eight of their twelve games, and.
- 14:38Speaker 4: He can make all the throws, like his pocket awareness
- 14:41Speaker 4: and just feeling like when somebody's there and he can.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Make awkward, awkward throws.
- 14:45Speaker 4: I just feel bad because he's gonna be like we
- 14:46Speaker 4: used to what twenty four now, probably gonna be like
- 14:48Speaker 4: twenty six, you know, depending on how Kurt.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Is twenty six when he will get his first start.
- 14:53Speaker 6: If Kirk Cousins plays out the remainder of next year's season.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Right right, because another thought too, I think dan Orlosky
- 14:59Speaker 4: was talking about it, that other angle of having somebody
- 15:04Speaker 4: to kind of groom and in the way, waiting in
- 15:06Speaker 4: the wing when Kirk is done. But also they think
- 15:09Speaker 4: that they'll be competitive and play good over the next
- 15:12Speaker 4: couple of years, that they would have a lower back
- 15:14Speaker 4: half pick. And if you're trying to get a quarterback
- 15:17Speaker 4: for the value, that's why they picked them at eight
- 15:20Speaker 4: because they feel like they're going to be later in
- 15:22Speaker 4: the draft, because they're going to be good. But the
- 15:24Speaker 4: counter argument to that was, uh, yeah, but if you're
- 15:27Speaker 4: trying to win right now and you think you got
- 15:29Speaker 4: you know, you got your quarterback, why not surround him
- 15:32Speaker 4: with weapons right now and not even worry about playing
- 15:34Speaker 4: this long game of chess. Uh But I guess, yeah, man,
- 15:38Speaker 4: I guess we'll see you in a couple of years.
- 15:39Speaker 4: JP out of you feel being a being in an
- 15:41Speaker 4: Atlanta falcon.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I love it.
- 15:44Speaker 7: I love seeing Michael Fennix in the city of Atlanta.
- 15:48Speaker 4: I did see a hilarious hang on a second.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I think, uh oh, man, jeez at the bad one.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I love it.
- 16:00Speaker 8: I've seeing Michael Pennix in the city of Atlanta and
- 16:03Speaker 8: I think the toughest part is the injury history he has.
- 16:06Speaker 8: But it's also like Kirk, he is older. Imagine Kirk
- 16:11Speaker 8: goes down. Obviously that would suck, but like he's an
- 16:14Speaker 8: older quarterback, the risk is higher with him he goes down.
- 16:17Speaker 7: Now, you do have Michael Pennix back there and black
- 16:20Speaker 7: left handed quarterbacks in Atlanta. Dogs We're back, Yeah, humans
- 16:26Speaker 7: are back dogs dogs.
- 16:28Speaker 4: I saw this one photo was like the dog perked up,
- 16:30Speaker 4: eyes wide open. Yea like Atlanta Falcons draft another are
- 16:33Speaker 4: drafted black quarterback, left handed.
- 16:35Speaker 3: All dogs around Atlanta just perked up.
- 16:38Speaker 8: What doesn't make you feel good is the video of
- 16:41Speaker 8: Blank talking with the GM.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And his GM obviously is trying to give yeah.
- 16:46Speaker 4: But also we don't know what's said true language as
- 16:51Speaker 4: a lot.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Do you feel like, though.
- 16:53Speaker 4: If you're going to take a quarterback eight overall like
- 16:55Speaker 4: that high in the draft, like the owner wouldn't be
- 16:57Speaker 4: privy to that before it happened, you.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Would you would think so, But you know, just watch
- 17:01Speaker 3: the body language of this clip and you're you think, no,
- 17:04Speaker 3: he had.
- 17:04Speaker 4: No pitching his ass off. Here's the thought process.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Do you guys want to at least one of y'all
- 17:09Speaker 6: take a chance at trying to uh say what he's
- 17:13Speaker 6: saying on here and do a little a little lippering.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but before you do that, hold on, I want
- 17:19Speaker 3: to have one more statement about Pettis because I saw this,
- 17:23Speaker 3: this take and it's not my original take, but I
- 17:25Speaker 3: do agree with it. Is when they brought Jordan Love
- 17:28Speaker 3: into to the Packers behind Aaron Rodgers. If you look
- 17:32Speaker 3: at Aaron Rodgers gameplay, it's shot through the absolute roof
- 17:35Speaker 3: and it just made both guys way better. So Kirk
- 17:38Speaker 3: Cousins might be pissed and Aaron Rodgers was noticeably mad
- 17:41Speaker 3: about the situation. Kirk Cousins team has come out and
- 17:44Speaker 3: said that he's pissed about it. This could be something
- 17:46Speaker 3: that like truly just elevates Kirk's game because everyone shits
- 17:49Speaker 3: on Kirk for his whole career, has only won one
- 17:52Speaker 3: playoff game, but he's made all this money blah blah
- 17:54Speaker 3: blah blah. Now I feel like this might be that
- 17:56Speaker 3: little extra juice for Kirk. And he's coming off an Achilles,
- 18:00Speaker 3: which is a very difficult injury to come off of,
- 18:03Speaker 3: and so you just draft draft the guy who's at
- 18:04Speaker 3: knees not not Achilles. Let's give it this.
- 18:08Speaker 6: All right, Who's who's gonna stop? All right?
- 18:18Speaker 3: I think Taylor? Go ahead? Oh okay, that's just them talking. Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 3: way too loud. Was insane.
- 18:32Speaker 6: I don't think you need it because it's gonna be
- 18:33Speaker 6: the giraft.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's literally them talking.
- 18:35Speaker 4: All right, go ahead, you're you're coming in, you're coming
- 18:39Speaker 4: And ask me, are you trying to watch the video through?
- 18:44Speaker 3: First, watch the video through.
- 18:48Speaker 4: When you look at the hundred million dollars we gave Kirk,
- 18:50Speaker 4: that's we print money America princes that.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you see the dat.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Now when you look at Jordan Love, with the Packers
- 18:57Speaker 4: did with Jordan Love what they hate? They sat him
- 18:59Speaker 4: for a couple of years. I know he was twenty one.
- 19:00Speaker 4: You're saying he's twenty four. He might not play till
- 19:02Speaker 4: he's twenty six. But listen to me. If we're competitive
- 19:05Speaker 4: for a couple of years now and we have a
- 19:06Speaker 4: later pick in the draft, we just got this quarterback
- 19:09Speaker 4: early in the draft, and he can be our future,
- 19:11Speaker 4: have a couple of years to play with them. That
- 19:13Speaker 4: fifthy your option. You can sneak it on him. You
- 19:15Speaker 4: can sneak it on him any which way because he
- 19:16Speaker 4: doesn't have four years of film. He's only got two
- 19:18Speaker 4: years of film. So you can throw that fifthyr option
- 19:20Speaker 4: on and we're gonna be We're gonna be in the
- 19:22Speaker 4: green if we're competitive.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Do you think we're he's like doing little hand thing?
- 19:25Speaker 3: Do you think we have the talent that the packers
- 19:27Speaker 3: had when they brought in Jordan Love. That's what Blank saying.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Yeah, but I personally have no clue. You got you
- 19:33Speaker 4: got coll Pits, coach. That's a great question. Now receiver wise,
- 19:37Speaker 4: we got a is it Kenyon, Drake, Drake London my fault,
- 19:41Speaker 4: Drake London, coach, you look at it. We got Drake London,
- 19:43Speaker 4: we got coll Pits. Now I know he wasn't getting
- 19:45Speaker 4: a whole lot of separation, but that's what we brought in,
- 19:47Speaker 4: Coach Morris. Teach these guys to be athletic, quick on
- 19:50Speaker 4: your feet, get separate, get some separation. We get added
- 19:53Speaker 4: Bijon Robinson. So we got the talent, We got the
- 19:56Speaker 4: horses that Kirk competed to and Pennis can learn from,
- 19:58Speaker 4: and also the competition. The cream rises to the top.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers was pissed off with Jordan Love right behind him.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Kirk Cousins is now pissed off. We flustered their whole camp.
- 20:08Speaker 4: This is gonna lift the ships of everybody.
- 20:10Speaker 3: You said twice as many words. This whole entire video.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Arthur Blake lily makes one comment the whole time. You know,
- 20:16Speaker 3: like this video is great, but the video the video.
- 20:18Speaker 3: What the video doesn't capture is Arthur Blank getting his attention.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Let me talk to you for a second over here, just.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Taps him on the shoulder and he just starts going
- 20:25Speaker 4: PowerPoint presentation. You look at here, you look at there.
- 20:28Speaker 3: You know he brought that pick. He was like held
- 20:30Speaker 3: it to his He called Michael Pennox and he's like,
- 20:32Speaker 3: all right, we'll get we'll get a locked in. We
- 20:35Speaker 3: absolutely and then just sat there and waited. The hairs
- 20:37Speaker 3: on the back of his next stood up as Arthur
- 20:39Speaker 3: Blake quietly just walked over.
- 20:41Speaker 4: They're calling like, hey, I know the pick is going
- 20:44Speaker 4: to be known like when it comes across the taker,
- 20:46Speaker 4: but try not to say anything.
- 20:47Speaker 3: And we got to put some fires out before we
- 20:49Speaker 3: make this pick. But just know we're picking you. Yeah, dude,
- 20:52Speaker 3: Arthur Blank is like the most gangster owner of all
- 20:55Speaker 3: time too. I think so I had a meeting with them.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Then it was like two days after I went to
- 21:00Speaker 3: Country Thunder and there is my voice is gone. I'm
- 21:02Speaker 3: still hungover. And I went I was in Atlanta and
- 21:06Speaker 3: drive all the way into the city because they play
- 21:08Speaker 3: they're they're in Flower Branch where they're they're like forty
- 21:10Speaker 3: five minutes out. Do you get you know that you're
- 21:11Speaker 3: a falcon? Yeah, And I go, Uh, I lit to
- 21:14Speaker 3: go into like the city of Atlanta, and there's like
- 21:16Speaker 3: this old Victorian building which is his office. And I
- 21:19Speaker 3: go up and it's like everything is like really nice, uh,
- 21:23Speaker 3: you know, wood and a giant fireplace and there's a
- 21:25Speaker 3: guy on top of the dark Yeah. And we sat down,
- 21:28Speaker 3: just me and him and talked and I could barely speak.
- 21:30Speaker 3: I was like yelling, trying to just get words out.
- 21:32Speaker 3: And I thought, I'm not going here. It's probably not
- 21:35Speaker 3: a shot to make it here. But he does have
- 21:37Speaker 3: that cool owner vibe, just keeps it calm. You see
- 21:40Speaker 3: him too. He's pissed off. His body language is mad,
- 21:43Speaker 3: but he's at the hand hands in the pockets brings
- 21:45Speaker 3: a just as one of these real quick hand back
- 21:48Speaker 3: in the pocket, keeps it calm. You know what he
- 21:50Speaker 3: says is talk to me. Yeah. So why yeah, yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 3: yeah yeah, So why would you do that? Explain this? Yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 3: then you got your boy, Joe Walt goes fifth overall
- 21:59Speaker 3: to your boy heart ball with the Chargers.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I know you think, Joe, you were talking about j C.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Latham earlier going from right to left. Guys can kind
- 22:07Speaker 4: of do it. How do you feel like Joe Walkin
- 22:09Speaker 4: can transition to that left side.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I hope you can. I hope he can do it. Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 3: we him and I actually had a conversation.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Hey, hang on my phone, transition to the right side.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Got you? Uh. I don't know if I'm being one
- 22:21Speaker 3: hundred percent honest like this. I know that Joe sees
- 22:24Speaker 3: himself as a left tackle. I know that he wants
- 22:26Speaker 3: to play left tackle because I had the conversation with him.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I talked to you about this, and He's like, I
- 22:32Speaker 3: want to I want to play left tackle. I'm not
- 22:33Speaker 3: I Switching over the right sides a difficult thing to do,
- 22:36Speaker 3: which he and I shared that, and I what I
- 22:38Speaker 3: told him was, when you meet with these teams, tell
- 22:40Speaker 3: them that, like, don't just try to be yes, sir,
- 22:43Speaker 3: everything I can do x Y and Z. I can
- 22:45Speaker 3: do it all for you if you want. I can
- 22:46Speaker 3: snap the ball coach whatever you want. Like, if you
- 22:48Speaker 3: believe this is where your skill set is, then tell
- 22:50Speaker 3: him that's who your skill set is. No, this is
- 22:53Speaker 3: at the combine. This is at the combine. And now
- 22:55Speaker 3: Joe he's going he's going to a place. They're going
- 22:57Speaker 3: to run the ship out of the football. They're going
- 22:59Speaker 3: to play old school, hard nose three yards in a
- 23:02Speaker 3: cloud of dust ball with Jim Harball at the helm.
- 23:04Speaker 3: They're gonna be a good that's gonna be a good
- 23:06Speaker 3: ball club. Look at him just kind of hugs his girl,
- 23:09Speaker 3: like fuck yeah, put it in his arms as far
- 23:11Speaker 3: out as possibly can. I think I'm trying to look
- 23:13Speaker 3: excited right now. I fucking hate that guy there at
- 23:16Speaker 3: the beard. That's Tommy Condon, son of Tom Condon.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a sharp beard.
- 23:20Speaker 3: That's a sharp beard. Handsome boy.
- 23:21Speaker 4: They're all they all kind of know the same thing, like, yeah,
- 23:24Speaker 4: your boy just huged him right there, Like, hey, I
- 23:25Speaker 4: know you're pissed.
- 23:26Speaker 3: But yeah, just be happy to be happy. Be happy.
- 23:29Speaker 3: It's got a juice you up. The way.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Harball comes out and talks about people talk about, hey,
- 23:32Speaker 4: we're gonna get weapons lineman or weapons.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Yes, and he's like, it's the only position group that
- 23:37Speaker 3: doesn't rely on anybody else. Yeah, I love that. Look
- 23:40Speaker 3: at him, that big bear. It was a bear that
- 23:43Speaker 3: just scratch his back on the tree. Yeah. Well, hopefully
- 23:47Speaker 3: it all works out. I mean, it's it's gone. The
- 23:49Speaker 3: kid's a talent, he's a stud and he got picked fifth. Overall,
- 23:51Speaker 3: he's a lot to be excited about. But they got
- 23:54Speaker 3: Rashaan Slater, and that guy is a proven talent in
- 23:57Speaker 3: the NFL. They're not moving him to right tackle. Yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 3: unless there's a conversation they have where you know, for
- 24:03Speaker 3: Sean's like, yeah, I don't mind playing right. I could
- 24:05Speaker 3: absolutely jump over there and play right. Joe feels more
- 24:07Speaker 3: comfortable at left. But if it's me, no, yeah, I'd
- 24:11Speaker 3: be very I would have been very upset because I
- 24:13Speaker 3: lack the skill set to switch my feet. Yeah, Joe
- 24:16Speaker 3: might be able to. He might just not know how
- 24:18Speaker 3: talented he is just yet.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Just yet, just how it is, like, say, it's you
- 24:21Speaker 4: feel like it's getting forced in those first couple of
- 24:23Speaker 4: days and can he kind of gets a little flustered Yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 4: it'd be interesting to know, like what is how he
- 24:28Speaker 4: would be verbalizing it, like when he's in the locker room,
- 24:30Speaker 4: like yeah, god, God, I can't play right, you know
- 24:32Speaker 4: what I mean.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be difficult because offensive linemen usually have
- 24:35Speaker 3: a hard time like expressing themselves. They're frustrations. They just
- 24:39Speaker 3: kind of get internally mad and then call whoever they're
- 24:41Speaker 3: closest with and then move on. There's not like a
- 24:43Speaker 3: big blow up for the normal offensive lineman.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Don't be seen, don't be heard the line.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Another thing that happened elite neighbors got a taste of
- 24:51Speaker 3: looking at college facilities, two NFL facilities and how different
- 24:54Speaker 3: they are.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll go through these draft moments here, but you
- 24:58Speaker 4: can see Moliku neighbors wapping up the entire New York
- 25:01Speaker 4: Giants organization, just knowing that he's going he's entering hell
- 25:04Speaker 4: at the moment with Daniel Doones. I think you're referred
- 25:08Speaker 4: to him as in the press conference, tapping up each
- 25:10Speaker 4: guy like god, damn it, just fucking put me down here.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I'm gonna make a lot of money for you guys,
- 25:15Speaker 4: but don't disrespect me. I feel like that's the vibe
- 25:19Speaker 4: that Malieue Neighbors is giving. Yeah, he's like, Hey, I
- 25:22Speaker 4: hope you guys know I'm gonna do this how I
- 25:24Speaker 4: want to do this.
- 25:25Speaker 3: There are two kind of football players when you walk
- 25:26Speaker 3: and you meet the higher ups in a in an
- 25:29Speaker 3: NFL league and an NFL team. It's the guy that
- 25:32Speaker 3: wants you to respect him immediately and you're like dapping
- 25:35Speaker 3: him up, big energy, Hey coach, how are you excited
- 25:37Speaker 3: to be here doing all that? And there's the other
- 25:39Speaker 3: guys that's like, you need to respect me first before
- 25:42Speaker 3: I respect you. Yeah, And Emlieue Neighbors is giving off
- 25:44Speaker 3: the I need that respect before I started.
- 25:46Speaker 4: He was giving off the vibe that I'm going to
- 25:48Speaker 4: put in two really good years up front for you guys,
- 25:50Speaker 4: and you better be you better be ready to renegotiate
- 25:52Speaker 4: with Yes, you better be.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well we're gonna renegotiate after my rookie year of
- 25:58Speaker 3: those guys for sure. Yeah. But kids, I mean he's
- 26:01Speaker 3: a stud. Yeah. All the Marvin Harrison junior stuff. People
- 26:03Speaker 3: were talking about this guy's number one in the draft,
- 26:05Speaker 3: bah blah blah, and then all of a sudden, that
- 26:07Speaker 3: classic the rumors start going around right before the draft
- 26:10Speaker 3: happens of Hey, this guy his yards after catch, the
- 26:13Speaker 3: way he's so sharpening out of his brakes like attacks,
- 26:17Speaker 3: like everybody saying he's even though Marvin Harrison Junior was
- 26:20Speaker 3: the best wide receiver, Everybody saying he's the most explosive,
- 26:22Speaker 3: the most explosive. And the dude is a tank too, Yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 3: absolute tank. So I'm excited. They seem like they got
- 26:28Speaker 3: their OBJ, a bigger OBJ, bigger OBJ. Time.
- 26:32Speaker 4: We will only see what's another draft moment? Oh uh,
- 26:37Speaker 4: I don't want to mess his name up.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Penn State left tackle. Mom's getting excited. She gives them
- 26:44Speaker 3: the big hug. Girlfriends to the right of the mom,
- 26:46Speaker 3: she goes in for the hug. Little Lake tap first
- 26:48Speaker 3: team All NBA Defensive Team. Yeah, the girl.
- 26:51Speaker 4: It's like it's tough to be in that spot, right,
- 26:53Speaker 4: You're trying to be excited, You're trying to maintain composure.
- 26:56Speaker 4: A couple claps, you kind of reach over for the
- 26:58Speaker 4: old lake. Touchy mom is just I mean, look at
- 27:01Speaker 4: look at mom.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Just him.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I don't know if that's his dad next him, but
- 27:05Speaker 4: she's tapping him like, hey, get in here, everybody block out.
- 27:08Speaker 4: So his uh, his white girlfriend can't get in this
- 27:10Speaker 4: because this is our baby boy there there. She kind
- 27:14Speaker 4: of goes in for the Hey, you can hug me,
- 27:15Speaker 4: but not my boy.
- 27:16Speaker 3: That's right. Yeah, we're transmitting the energy through me to him.
- 27:19Speaker 4: You're on a yearly contract just like he is.
- 27:22Speaker 3: This every single year. We're gonna reevaluate and renegotiate helping
- 27:26Speaker 3: him out. That is a big man. Even legs looks
- 27:30Speaker 3: it's oulu right.
- 27:33Speaker 4: He might be thinking like, okay, Mom, you're hugging me
- 27:34Speaker 4: a lot right now, Like, let's stand up, get some
- 27:36Speaker 4: fresh air. Mom even reads it out of nowhere, goes
- 27:38Speaker 4: and picks that ball off, stands up, hugs him again
- 27:41Speaker 4: even more. Yeah, tight cover and poor girlfriend back there,
- 27:44Speaker 4: she's just kind of waiting her turn. Feels cameras on her.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I'm sure she just tried to make a step and
- 27:48Speaker 4: I think Aunty said no, get back back it up.
- 27:51Speaker 3: A second Anty said back it up. Maybe the Jets
- 27:54Speaker 3: drafted the wrong for Shawan Hill. They should have maybe
- 27:57Speaker 3: taken the mom. She is out there absolutely making sure
- 28:00Speaker 3: his son is not even touched by that. Yeah. Yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 3: incredible time man, true past protection the entire time.
- 28:06Speaker 4: And keeps her at bait too. She keeps her hand
- 28:08Speaker 4: on old girl's leg, like you just stayed down when
- 28:10Speaker 4: this happens. You let us get it in.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yeah, she noticed that little the little leg tap.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and then our boy. Now, really cool moment was
- 28:19Speaker 4: Brandon Fisk with the Rams.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I'll make sure it's not as this time.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Let's hope start playing.
- 28:32Speaker 4: The Rams call Fisk here and this is what the
- 28:35Speaker 4: second or third round? Second round, second round, and the
- 28:39Speaker 4: Rams are trying to get is this gonna be playing
- 28:41Speaker 4: the same time I'm talking. Okay, well then let's just wait.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Just turn it off, Mitch. We can kind of just
- 28:48Speaker 4: overlay the visual. But basically, the Rams were on the
- 28:52Speaker 4: phone with him fired up. They were trying to get
- 28:53Speaker 4: Jared versed because they took him in the first round.
- 28:55Speaker 4: They were trying to get him up to the to
- 28:57Speaker 4: the war room to make that call to him because
- 28:59Speaker 4: the boys are gonna be back playing together just like
- 29:00Speaker 4: they were.
- 29:01Speaker 3: In Florida State.
- 29:02Speaker 4: But they have a cool moment when Verse gets on
- 29:04Speaker 4: the phone and they're just high for each other, and
- 29:06Speaker 4: then they both just start getting emotional, which is fucking awesome.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah, you get your boy back, your boys back in
- 29:13Speaker 3: the saddle with you. What an amazing feeling that is,
- 29:15Speaker 3: because when you go to a team, you're walking into
- 29:18Speaker 3: you don't know anybody. You're essentially going back to camp
- 29:20Speaker 3: making friends. Hopefully you can find a couple guys that
- 29:22Speaker 3: sit at breakfast with and have a couple of laughs with,
- 29:24Speaker 3: but you really don't know what's gonna happen.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Going from East Coast to West coast too. Yeah, for
- 29:28Speaker 4: Brayden being a small school scat small school cat before
- 29:32Speaker 4: he transferred to Florida State, being a ripping it up
- 29:36Speaker 4: at the combine, just shot up draft boards for him
- 29:38Speaker 4: to get taken.
- 29:39Speaker 3: He's gonna love McVeigh too, Like, what a fucking coach
- 29:42Speaker 3: to play? Yeah, dude, this is such a cool move
- 29:44Speaker 3: by Lessening and McVeigh to be to something is so
- 29:47Speaker 3: sacred as the draft. They literally have rooms called the
- 29:49Speaker 3: war room that they're in there and they're looking to
- 29:52Speaker 3: have their little things. Okay, this guy's off the board, Now,
- 29:53Speaker 3: who's our next in line? What do we need? All
- 29:55Speaker 3: that stuff? Like they're truly like setting up the future
- 29:58Speaker 3: of their team and for them to to call one
- 30:01Speaker 3: of the guys they drafted just a year ago to
- 30:02Speaker 3: bring them in because they know that they're boys. That's
- 30:04Speaker 3: a that's more of a bro move than I think
- 30:06Speaker 3: people even realize. Yeah, absolutely, yeah. But to see Fisk
- 30:10Speaker 3: have the conversation with the coaches and everything and it's yes, sir. No,
- 30:13Speaker 3: Like every one of these calls is either a kid
- 30:14Speaker 3: crying or yep, let's get it. Yep, yes sir, yep. Oh,
- 30:17Speaker 3: let's the Caleb Williams call was a little awkward. Yeah,
- 30:20Speaker 3: we can get into that a little bit too. But
- 30:21Speaker 3: I feel like Caleb Williams, He's just a different cat,
- 30:25Speaker 3: different cat, extremely talented. I'm not getting on Big Cats list.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Yeah, promise you don't want to be on Big Cats list.
- 30:32Speaker 3: But we can still the minute Big Cat said that
- 30:34Speaker 3: everything before this was wiped clean because I have said
- 30:36Speaker 3: a couple of things about Kayleb Williams, I'm not I'm
- 30:38Speaker 3: not ruining that opportunity.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Caleb Williams. Who's the receiver that they.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Took roma Dunze from Washington. Yeah, it was a stud.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Yes, the Bears knocked out of the park with their draft.
- 30:50Speaker 6: Yeah, speaking, you don't want to rank your top draft
- 30:53Speaker 6: grades for teams.
- 30:55Speaker 4: My favorite draft was probably number one. The Boys where
- 31:00Speaker 4: I started with Washington, Jane and Daniels. I think he's
- 31:02Speaker 4: gonna be a stud. But in that division, the Eagles,
- 31:07Speaker 4: you got a team that was abysmal on defense, more
- 31:11Speaker 4: specifically the secondary last year. And to go and get
- 31:15Speaker 4: Cooper Dejene just just skip over their first round draft pick,
- 31:19Speaker 4: but Quinon Mitchell, who's an absolute dog who attacks the
- 31:22Speaker 4: ball really well, Cooper Dejean cornerbacks with their first two picks,
- 31:25Speaker 4: and on a lot of big boards top ten talents
- 31:28Speaker 4: that they got in the first two rounds. And then
- 31:30Speaker 4: you get somebody in the edge, what's his name? Jay
- 31:33Speaker 4: is Jylyx Hunt, Will Shipley just another gritty first and
- 31:37Speaker 4: last out cat. You get Jeremiah Trotter, Jeremiah Trotter junior
- 31:42Speaker 4: as a linebacker who Jeremiah Trotter Senior was an animal
- 31:46Speaker 4: at Philly back in the day. What's up? He was
- 31:48Speaker 4: a stud? And for them to get I mean, I
- 31:51Speaker 4: feel like they address a lot of other spots on
- 31:53Speaker 4: defense to where a lot of people were calling for
- 31:55Speaker 4: Sirianni's head last year. Their defense played really poorly, and
- 31:58Speaker 4: again in that back end, and now you got Blanken,
- 32:01Speaker 4: ship Dejeene, Mitchell, Darius Slay say the best one, Cooper Dejean,
- 32:07Speaker 4: Trevor Keagan, Trevor Keagan, they get your boy, Trevor Keagan
- 32:10Speaker 4: out of Michigan. I feel like for good value in
- 32:12Speaker 4: the fifth.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Great Value one seventy two overall, I mean the guy
- 32:15Speaker 3: you you can watch the film. Obviously, this limited athletically
- 32:18Speaker 3: plays in a phone booth. But he is a guy
- 32:20Speaker 3: that loves football, loves to get after your classic hog,
- 32:23Speaker 3: who's going to give you every ounce of effort he
- 32:26Speaker 3: can possibly give on a day in a day up basis.
- 32:28Speaker 4: And didn't allow a sack in twenty twenty three and
- 32:30Speaker 4: played eight consecutive games without allowing one single pressure. That
- 32:34Speaker 4: is again a Michigan man coming coming from what's the
- 32:38Speaker 4: trophy call where the entire line gets it.
- 32:40Speaker 3: That is the Joe Moore Award, the Joe Moore Award.
- 32:42Speaker 3: They were two times right, right, and the Michigan played
- 32:45Speaker 3: one of the hardest schedules this past year. If you
- 32:46Speaker 3: look at the back half of the schedule, they played
- 32:48Speaker 3: Penn State, they played a hot state, they played Alabama,
- 32:50Speaker 3: they played Washington.
- 32:51Speaker 4: Right, so he's got the he's got the tape. They
- 32:53Speaker 4: got the o Lineman Awards, the Joe Moore Awards. So
- 32:55Speaker 4: he's coming from time Joe good O line culture in
- 32:58Speaker 4: Michigan and going to a great line culture with Philly.
- 33:01Speaker 3: And there's a lot of reports coming out of the
- 33:03Speaker 3: combine of like higher ups GM saying that like these
- 33:06Speaker 3: Michigan Cats are head and shoulders above mentally where usual
- 33:11Speaker 3: where usually guys are at going from college to the NFL.
- 33:14Speaker 3: And that's a product of Jim Harbaugh and the culture
- 33:16Speaker 3: that established and thirteen guys drafted, thirteen guys ready to
- 33:20Speaker 3: go program record, that's awesome. I do like that. It's
- 33:23Speaker 3: very interesting that you picked the team that probably picked
- 33:25Speaker 3: the most amount of white guys. That's very well confident
- 33:28Speaker 3: of you.
- 33:29Speaker 4: But also just to play Devil's advocate and that you
- 33:31Speaker 4: know they're one of the rivals of Washington. I do
- 33:33Speaker 4: fault Washington had a great draft, but for the Eagles
- 33:35Speaker 4: again to address absolutely, I think they traded up for
- 33:38Speaker 4: Cooper as well, but to go after spots to where
- 33:41Speaker 4: they need filled, I think that that's why they're They've
- 33:45Speaker 4: been my favorite draft.
- 33:46Speaker 3: There's nothing more heartbreaking to me than when I saw
- 33:49Speaker 3: Cooper de Gene fallow to the first round. That moment
- 33:52Speaker 3: that you me, Stephen Shehay Roan and Brandan Walker shared
- 33:58Speaker 3: was so nice before you got duped.
- 34:00Speaker 4: I know, I know, which sucks because it was coming
- 34:02Speaker 4: from those kind of like you know, those I don't
- 34:07Speaker 4: know how to call him, the credible bot X profiles
- 34:13Speaker 4: like the Dove Climb and the mL Football, the JPA
- 34:16Speaker 4: or whatever. It was like that, those are the ones
- 34:18Speaker 4: I saw it on because they, you know, you would
- 34:20Speaker 4: I would type in like if the Eagles are drafts,
- 34:22Speaker 4: I type in Eagles and then usually the most recent
- 34:25Speaker 4: tweets are saying, oh so and so they're they're getting
- 34:27Speaker 4: this guy. Yeah, it had been put up and then
- 34:29Speaker 4: when we went back afterwards, it was then deleted. But
- 34:31Speaker 4: your boy got duped, and it was tough because, you know,
- 34:34Speaker 4: based on there was a tweet going around last week
- 34:36Speaker 4: that Cooper de Jean was our Jackie Robinson.
- 34:39Speaker 3: And it was not a big moment for it was
- 34:41Speaker 3: not your tweet.
- 34:42Speaker 4: No no, no, no, no. People thought it was, but
- 34:43Speaker 4: that was not my tweet. But uh, it was a
- 34:46Speaker 4: big moment for you know, our culture. We haven't had
- 34:48Speaker 4: a first round cornerback maybe ever or maybe since like
- 34:51Speaker 4: the seventies, we haven't had one start, and so who
- 34:56Speaker 4: knows if he's going to get to play corner, they're
- 34:58Speaker 4: going to move him the safety.
- 35:00Speaker 9: Can you imagine what it's gonna be like for him
- 35:03Speaker 9: to line up against A. J.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Brown and practice? Yes, after AJ getting paid? Yeah, this strapped.
- 35:10Speaker 3: A's gonna give him hell.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Maybe or AJ might not practice. AJ might not practice.
- 35:16Speaker 4: He's one of the man man.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Might outwork ethic him. I don't know. Maybe it might
- 35:20Speaker 3: grind it out. He might know the place coming before
- 35:22Speaker 3: the play even comes.
- 35:23Speaker 9: That needs to be the hard knock series.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Philly is Philly, and not only that, DeVante Smith got paid.
- 35:29Speaker 9: Yeah, but I feel like he doesn't talk like AJ talks.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Yeah, you know AJ is crazy.
- 35:35Speaker 3: AJ is him.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Those rookie corners. Whether you had question marks on the
- 35:39Speaker 4: Mitchell playing at a small school and against the competition,
- 35:42Speaker 4: he'll be getting the best competition at receiver, playing against
- 35:45Speaker 4: the Eagles with Davante Smith, A J.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Brown and those boys. He's gonna find out real fast
- 35:49Speaker 3: if he's gonna make it or not. Yeah, absolutely, real.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Fast, and you're gonna be You're gonna start callousing your
- 35:53Speaker 4: brain mentally when you do get beat because you're definitely
- 35:56Speaker 4: gonna get beat.
- 35:56Speaker 3: And in the fall. If you're looking for a place

- 37:09Speaker 3: team was? Yeah? Oh yeah, I think it's very clear cut,
- 37:12Speaker 3: and they did. They start doing it in the first round.
- 37:14Speaker 3: My number one is going to have to go to
- 37:17Speaker 3: the Minnesota Vikings. They got the best quarterback talent in
- 37:22Speaker 3: this draft. They've gotten a proven winner in this draft,
- 37:25Speaker 3: a guy that is going to eat, sleep, and breathe
- 37:28Speaker 3: the game of football. And then what did they do?
- 37:30Speaker 3: Seven picks later? They turn around and get arguably the
- 37:33Speaker 3: best edge rusher in this draft. Defensive player. Yeah, edge
- 37:37Speaker 3: rusher is exactly what I just said, defensive player Dallas
- 37:39Speaker 3: Turner from the University of Alabama. Yeah, saying overall, they're saying,
- 37:43Speaker 3: this guy's a Will Anderson two point zero type of guy,
- 37:45Speaker 3: like you just cloned him and brought him over. You
- 37:47Speaker 3: see the leadership qualities that Will Anderson has at the
- 37:50Speaker 3: Houston Texans. He's bringing that to the Vikings. We have
- 37:53Speaker 3: got something cooking up in Minnesota, the Land of ten
- 37:57Speaker 3: Thousand Lakes. It's going to be a special time. The
- 37:59Speaker 3: other guy just listen. Don't know a whole lot of
- 38:03Speaker 3: who they are. I'm gonna be real with you know
- 38:05Speaker 3: JJ McCarthy, but you know JJ McCarthy, and we know
- 38:08Speaker 3: Dallas Turner. These other guys, I hope they pan out.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I hope they're absolute studs. We are going to have.
- 38:15Speaker 3: I'm I'm now a Chargers fan, a Vikings fan, and
- 38:17Speaker 3: a Tennessee Titans fan. Yeah.
- 38:20Speaker 4: I mean, look, JJ couldn't have went in out of
- 38:22Speaker 4: all the quarterbacks. I feel like he might have went
- 38:24Speaker 4: into the best situation. You got Addison, Justin Jefferson, TJ Hockinson.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Who's their running back from Minnesota? Madison? Yeah, Addison Madison.
- 38:37Speaker 4: You Gottison Madison. You got a lot of weapons, you
- 38:39Speaker 4: got a solid old line. They built defensively, uh, because
- 38:43Speaker 4: they got better with coach Brian Floores being their their DC.
- 38:46Speaker 4: But you couldn't as a rookie quarterback going in to
- 38:48Speaker 4: a situation where you got coach Kevin O'Connell, who understands
- 38:52Speaker 4: quarterbacks a little bit of a quarterback whisper coming from
- 38:54Speaker 4: McVeigh was in Washington obviously is coach Kirk Cousins a
- 38:57Speaker 4: lot uh Coach West Phillips, who's the OC like he's
- 39:00Speaker 4: in a very good situation where the great coaching staff
- 39:03Speaker 4: and a lot of weapons.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Right Yeah. The only player that you probably could argue
- 39:06Speaker 3: is going to the best situation as a quarterback is
- 39:08Speaker 3: going to be uh, Caleb Williams Keenan Allen from the Chargers.
- 39:13Speaker 3: They a Duneesa and the what was it the ninth pick,
- 39:16Speaker 3: the ninth pick overall, and the kid is an absolute
- 39:19Speaker 3: stud And so he's got a whole bunch of weapons
- 39:20Speaker 3: going into the situation with a fan base that is dying, right,
- 39:24Speaker 3: dying for.
- 39:25Speaker 4: For me that though, you know, that comes with a
- 39:27Speaker 4: lot of expectation, a lot of pressure. The first overall pick.
- 39:30Speaker 4: I agree with you, he does. He's going into a
- 39:32Speaker 4: good situation, but it's kind of like you know you're
- 39:34Speaker 4: going in to win. Now, Minnesota is like similar, But
- 39:37Speaker 4: I just feel like as far as a young guy
- 39:39Speaker 4: coming into something, coming into a culture that hasn't been
- 39:42Speaker 4: on fire, the way the Bears have.
- 39:44Speaker 3: The thing about Caleb Williams is he's obviously a unique cat,
- 39:47Speaker 3: and I had my comments about him after the combine.
- 39:49Speaker 3: But the pros of having that personality is it really
- 39:53Speaker 3: seems like he does not give a shit who's saying
- 39:56Speaker 3: anything about him. Like he's gonna paint his nails, He's
- 39:58Speaker 3: gonna do the Bears and million times he thinks that's
- 40:01Speaker 3: super funny. Even though that wasn't a good Chicago accent.
- 40:04Speaker 3: He is going. He's like buying in and also buying
- 40:07Speaker 3: in the way he buys it. He's gonna stay true
- 40:09Speaker 3: to himself if he does have he has the talent.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Now we just need to see if it shows up
- 40:13Speaker 3: in Chicago.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Another quarterback that had a phenomenal weekend, Dylan ray olout
- 40:17Speaker 4: of Nebraska. Do we want to hit on the Nebraska
- 40:20Speaker 4: spring game?
- 40:20Speaker 3: I don't, but you can any one last thing.
- 40:25Speaker 4: One last thing for NFL Draft j JP slowed me
- 40:27Speaker 4: down before I start getting.
- 40:29Speaker 8: Off of just some kind of juice for all these
- 40:32Speaker 8: high school kids coming out. In the first round, five
- 40:35Speaker 8: five stars were picked, fifteen four stars, nine three stars,
- 40:40Speaker 8: one two star, and two undrafted or too range guys.
- 40:45Speaker 7: For the first round.
- 40:46Speaker 3: It does.
- 40:46Speaker 4: I mean, it isn't about how you start, it's how
- 40:49Speaker 4: you finished.
- 40:49Speaker 3: No question. And that's not even the finish either, the
- 40:52Speaker 3: new start, right turning of a chapter right there. That's
- 40:54Speaker 3: the thing that dudes you need to figure out the
- 40:55Speaker 3: most is like you've gotten drafted. You've gotten that call,
- 40:58Speaker 3: especially the kids, the cats that sit in the first round,
- 41:00Speaker 3: Like your bank account has forever changed, but it's now
- 41:04Speaker 3: it's proving that you were worthy of that bank account. Right,
- 41:07Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. Now you have to play
- 41:08Speaker 3: up to the level that you're being paid. It's no
- 41:10Speaker 3: longer Hey, let's get the classes in order, make sure
- 41:12Speaker 3: we show up on time. It's either you're going to
- 41:14Speaker 3: you're not going to, and that'll that'll dictate your career
- 41:18Speaker 3: other than injury.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Because you'd be in a first round, pick, second round,
- 41:20Speaker 4: whatever round you were drafted in. There's a whole other
- 41:23Speaker 4: wave that comes in next year. So if you don't
- 41:25Speaker 4: start showing what you're worth out of the gate, like
- 41:28Speaker 4: that's what drafts are for. Obviously, everybody spotlighted, showered with love,
- 41:32Speaker 4: just ass pats all over the place. You're making all
- 41:35Speaker 4: this money, hugs, cries all this stuff and now you
- 41:37Speaker 4: know rape. It's like, hey, it's not about how you
- 41:40Speaker 4: get here, it's that you hear now.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Right, and those ass pats and all that. A minute
- 41:46Speaker 3: you put on the helmet, it's over. No more ass pats,
- 41:49Speaker 3: none of that stuff like you need. It's now time
- 41:50Speaker 3: to go to work. And it's a It's such a
- 41:52Speaker 3: crazy thing that I don't think people talk about is
- 41:54Speaker 3: if you are picked in the first round of the
- 41:55Speaker 3: NFL Draft, you're riding that highlight crazy. You're getting more
- 41:59Speaker 3: text messages and you've ever had in your entire life.
- 42:01Speaker 3: You walk in, everyone's dapping you up. That first practice
- 42:04Speaker 3: is going to be a tough practice. Everyone's gonna be
- 42:05Speaker 3: gunning for you. All the defensive ends, if you're a tackle,
- 42:08Speaker 3: they are all going to be gunning for you. They
- 42:09Speaker 3: want to show that you picked him. I can make
- 42:11Speaker 3: the team off this guy by beating him. Yeah, coaches
- 42:13Speaker 3: are now going to be hard on you because the
- 42:14Speaker 3: expectation is higher on you. There's a whole lot more
- 42:17Speaker 3: that comes into it. So when you leave that first practice,
- 42:19Speaker 3: while trying to digest the whole entire playbook, it is very,
- 42:23Speaker 3: very different than the first moment you walked in that
- 42:26Speaker 3: at everybody getting.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Coach hard It's like your lifestyle is not outside of
- 42:30Speaker 4: the building where you're doing autographed deals, you're doing marketing deals,
- 42:33Speaker 4: You're getting hooked up all around the city. All these
- 42:35Speaker 4: people want to do all these things for you because
- 42:38Speaker 4: your lifestyle is going to be in those four walls
- 42:40Speaker 4: basically all year long, especially as a rookie. But so
- 42:46Speaker 4: Nebraska's ringing boys. Anybody who saw the highlights. Obviously I
- 42:51Speaker 4: posted a couple of highlights our quarterback room and even Hardberg,
- 42:55Speaker 4: all the boys were throwing some dimes out there. But
- 42:58Speaker 4: seeing this eighteen year old, he's eighteen, right, he should
- 43:01Speaker 4: be going to the prom, Dylan Riola. Look at the mannerisms,
- 43:05Speaker 4: the body language. Sitting in the pocket. The man looks like,
- 43:09Speaker 4: you know, I don't want to put expectation on.
- 43:11Speaker 3: But Patrick Mahomes he does kind of play Patrick Mahomes.
- 43:13Speaker 3: He's got the body style, yeah, wearing fifteen just poise.
- 43:18Speaker 3: He looks good. Fellas. We might have a real shot
- 43:24Speaker 3: at what playoffs this year? Playoffs.
- 43:29Speaker 4: I've already put in my futures plus fifteen hundred Nebraska
- 43:33Speaker 4: to make the Cassotball playoff.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Do what.
- 43:38Speaker 4: I thought so too, But maybe everybody who's kind of
- 43:41Speaker 4: watching the spring game and the odds already changed.
- 43:43Speaker 3: I think it's wild that Nebraska. I watched some of
- 43:47Speaker 3: the game and the defense is throwing in blitzes they
- 43:50Speaker 3: don't care about They're like showing all the things that
- 43:52Speaker 3: they have. Usually these spring games are like are like
- 43:55Speaker 3: preseason games, where you're kind of just everyone around a
- 43:57Speaker 3: four down front, keep it based the whole time. We'll
- 43:59Speaker 3: mix it some zone with some man and that's it.
- 44:02Speaker 3: And then I mean, look at that throw. It's a
- 44:04Speaker 3: good throw. And he went what like ten for seventeen,
- 44:08Speaker 3: one hundred and eighty three yards. It's two touchdowns an interception.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I'm not sure he had. He had a great stat line.
- 44:14Speaker 3: But also listen, he is and this isn't this is
- 44:19Speaker 3: just an observation. He is doing a spring game versus
- 44:22Speaker 3: a team that went five and seven last year. Time out.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Okay, just to correct you a little bit, he's a
- 44:27Speaker 4: spring game versus a defense that's returning eight starters in
- 44:30Speaker 4: a defense that was ranked top fifteen in defensive scoring,
- 44:33Speaker 4: total yards, and rush defense in the FYI. Yeah, but
- 44:37Speaker 4: big ten, what they won the national title last year.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Michigan won the national title. I don't know if
- 44:42Speaker 3: the Big Ten can claim that. Okay, we don't have
- 44:45Speaker 3: to do that. I'm not going into that with you again.
- 44:49Speaker 4: Either way, great showing for Dylan RelA and Nebraska fans
- 44:53Speaker 4: should be excited.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Yeah, they should be. They should absolutely be excited.
- 44:56Speaker 4: And tornadoes touching down and we still got over sixty
- 44:58Speaker 4: thousands showing up, just ready to die, just ready to
- 45:01Speaker 4: bleed red.
- 45:01Speaker 3: You guys had a lot of people at that spring game.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm telling you man that we we were looking nice.
- 45:06Speaker 4: We're like, did anybody else watch a spring game?
- 45:09Speaker 8: No?
- 45:10Speaker 4: I was just checking. I know it was the talk
- 45:12Speaker 4: of the day. The draft was going on, but people
- 45:14Speaker 4: were talking about this in the brass on my timeline anyway,
- 45:18Speaker 4: I do follow a lot of Husker accounts.
- 45:21Speaker 3: That is, Yeah, he looks really good that Dimi throw
- 45:25Speaker 3: in the back right of the end zone. I thought
- 45:26Speaker 3: it was a really great throw there, long one, long one. Yeah.
- 45:30Speaker 4: That's the thing too, is we got some color out
- 45:32Speaker 4: on the edge. Now, didn't have a whole lot of
- 45:34Speaker 4: depth of receiver. We had some guys, some walk ons
- 45:36Speaker 4: that you need on your squad. But you got some
- 45:38Speaker 4: transfers coming in. You get a little color on the outside,
- 45:40Speaker 4: guys making plays attack in the football. It seems like
- 45:42Speaker 4: we're gonna have a little bit more depth this year
- 45:44Speaker 4: with the big Redkay.
- 45:45Speaker 3: You said it once and then you doubled down and
- 45:47Speaker 3: said color again. Yeah, well that just is what it is. Yeah,
- 45:50Speaker 3: but you can't say color.
- 45:52Speaker 4: Okay, we got we got some more black guys.
- 45:54Speaker 3: There, you go. That's way better. But you're sitting on
- 45:56Speaker 3: a bus with six white dudes that went to some
- 45:58Speaker 3: NASCAR games that probably you've love. This bus has probably
- 46:00Speaker 3: heard a lot of mean words.
- 46:02Speaker 4: No, I'm with you, but this is a podcast that
- 46:03Speaker 4: brings the locker room to life. Do the boys in
- 46:05Speaker 4: the locker room not say that there's too many white
- 46:07Speaker 4: guys on defense? They're like, hey, we need a little
- 46:10Speaker 4: bit more soul out there.
- 46:11Speaker 3: You know, I get what you're saying. I know what
- 46:13Speaker 3: the locker room says, but I feel like it would
- 46:15Speaker 3: be unfair to the viewer. We got a couple of
- 46:17Speaker 3: guys out there, allies that I might want to come
- 46:20Speaker 3: after Will Compton, and I just want to make sure
- 46:22Speaker 3: that I'm protecting my boy. I know who I am
- 46:25Speaker 3: that's the problem. I don't want people to find out. God,
- 46:32Speaker 3: I think that's Harburg, dude. I mean he's out there balling. Elevator,
- 46:37Speaker 3: Michael the Pylon, Michael Pennex, Kirk Cousins, just elevating dudes.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Yeah, man, I'm telling you you had a speaking a
- 46:44Speaker 4: big moments over the weekend. We ain't revel with the chug.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, that was.
- 46:51Speaker 4: I mean, I don't want the text I got the
- 46:53Speaker 4: amount of texts I got. Like Coach Vytello from uh
- 46:56Speaker 4: the University of Tennessee, the head baseball coach. He's at
- 46:58Speaker 4: the game and he sends me a photo of the
- 47:00Speaker 4: big screen just being like an awesome moment just took place.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Taylor chugs a beer, daughter chugs the water, and look
- 47:06Speaker 4: at Wynn just being a showman, just like her old man.
- 47:08Speaker 4: But everybody, dude, everybody was hitting me up. I mean,
- 47:11Speaker 4: what a fucking awesome moment.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Dude. That is the bet this I don't just go
- 47:17Speaker 3: off the wrong way. That was the most proud moment
- 47:20Speaker 3: I've had as a father, Like, I don't want that
- 47:24Speaker 3: to come off the wrong way. But dude, we sat down,
- 47:28Speaker 3: so it was supposed to be me tailing win and
- 47:30Speaker 3: Willow go to the game. Willow ends up getting a
- 47:33Speaker 3: fever so she can't go. Something going around Nashville, Tennessee.
- 47:36Speaker 3: And I was like, okay, well I've already told them.
- 47:38Speaker 3: I'm I'll go and I'll chug a beer and do
- 47:39Speaker 3: the whole thing. And so I have to go. She's like,
- 47:42Speaker 3: will take win with you? I was like, oh, absolutely,
- 47:43Speaker 3: I'll take win. And when you see the paper in
- 47:45Speaker 3: her hand that she's holding, she made it go predators
- 47:47Speaker 3: like she drew that the whole way there. It was
- 47:49Speaker 3: fired up because I was like, hey, honey, we're gonna
- 47:51Speaker 3: be in the big screen. People are gonna see it.
- 47:56Speaker 3: She was. She was loving it. We get in our
- 47:58Speaker 3: seats and and I'm thinking to me, I'm thinking like, hey,
- 48:03Speaker 3: this whole like just chug a beer thing is getting
- 48:05Speaker 3: a little it's getting stale, Like it can't just chug
- 48:08Speaker 3: a beer. So there has to be something more. So
- 48:09Speaker 3: you know, you know what the people want when you're
- 48:10Speaker 3: at a natural Yeah you want, Yeah, you got to
- 48:13Speaker 3: chug a beer. So I go to win and I'm like, dude,
- 48:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna chug this beer. I'm gonna pour it on
- 48:19Speaker 3: my head. And then you drink that water as fast
- 48:22Speaker 3: as you can. And she was kind of like, I
- 48:24Speaker 3: don't know, Dad, Like she was nervous right now. She
- 48:26Speaker 3: didn't she didn't want to answer the call. She didn't
- 48:28Speaker 3: know how well it was going this, that and the
- 48:30Speaker 3: other a lot of people. And I was like, honey,
- 48:32Speaker 3: when people see you drink that water, they're going to
- 48:35Speaker 3: lose their minds. And she's like, are they really? I
- 48:37Speaker 3: was like, yeah, it'll be legendary. She's like, you think,
- 48:39Speaker 3: So I was like yes. So they text me, they're
- 48:42Speaker 3: like first first TV timeout, fourteen minute mark, we're going
- 48:47Speaker 3: to put you guys on. And so as it's sticking down,
- 48:49Speaker 3: we get to seventeen minutes, boys are going back and forth,
- 48:52Speaker 3: h Vancouver scores, Predator score. My heart's starting to race.
- 48:57Speaker 3: I'm getting nervous hoping my daughter answers the bell because
- 49:00Speaker 3: if I point to her and she's just like no,
- 49:02Speaker 3: I'm like, king, yeah, just stays on her. And so
- 49:06Speaker 3: I was. I was really nervous. So we went over
- 49:07Speaker 3: the game plan a few more times. Kate, Daddy's henchok,
- 49:09Speaker 3: the beer pour on my head and then I'm gonna
- 49:11Speaker 3: point to you and when you see me point to you.
- 49:13Speaker 3: That's when you get the water as fasts, you can't
- 49:15Speaker 3: drink it as fast. And she I'm not gonna pour
- 49:16Speaker 3: it on my head. I said, you don't have to,
- 49:19Speaker 3: So I'm looking at my phone. Yeah, bro, and the
- 49:23Speaker 3: stand up too, Dude. Look at this kid's smile when
- 49:27Speaker 3: I pick her up.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Everybody cheering because I was. I was watching the tape.
- 49:32Speaker 3: The look at that face, true true happiness. It was, dude.
- 49:39Speaker 3: It was so amazing to see her answer the call
- 49:42Speaker 3: like that, the biggest cheese of all the time.
- 49:44Speaker 4: I was myself because people were fired up that you
- 49:48Speaker 4: were doing it. But then when it went to her
- 49:49Speaker 4: and she started, you just hear this second wave eruption.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Then you then you pull her up and everyone just
- 49:55Speaker 4: goes nuts.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Bro, Like it was fucking dude. I was sitting so
- 49:58Speaker 3: when I saw one of the timeout was happening, they
- 50:00Speaker 3: started showing people and I was like, well, I can't
- 50:01Speaker 3: just be looking at the jump of Tronma in my head,
- 50:03Speaker 3: like try to make it look as organic as possibly.
- 50:05Speaker 3: You don't know you're going to be on there, which
- 50:06Speaker 3: obviously I know it's but to happen. Yeah, and legit,
- 50:09Speaker 3: I'm looking down, I hear cheering and I look up
- 50:12Speaker 3: and it's I'm like, oh boy, still got some juice
- 50:14Speaker 3: around here. I love that. So I do the whole
- 50:16Speaker 3: beer thing, and it was like and then when when
- 50:21Speaker 3: stargering the beer, it went like thirty decibels up. People
- 50:25Speaker 3: lost their fucking mind about it, dude. The whole way home,
- 50:29Speaker 3: the whole like I literally walking out and the some
- 50:31Speaker 3: cop stops me and he's like, the way you smell
- 50:34Speaker 3: right now, you would go to jail immediately if you
- 50:36Speaker 3: get pulled the we wouldn't even breath lize you. I
- 50:38Speaker 3: was like, dude, I had I had the one, but like, yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 3: but dude, she We're in the car on the way home,
- 50:46Speaker 3: and when it's like, Dan, I should have poured the
- 50:49Speaker 3: water on top of my head, shouldn't I, She's like,
- 50:51Speaker 3: already you're reevaluating the film in her head. Like it
- 50:54Speaker 3: was dude, It was so cool. It was seriously like
- 50:57Speaker 3: one of the coolest moments as a father, and to
- 50:59Speaker 3: see people will be like the ultimate daddy daughter moment. Yeah,
- 51:03Speaker 3: that was a man. I love it.
- 51:05Speaker 4: And look, I don't know if you've seen any comments
- 51:06Speaker 4: by I saw a couple where it's like, oh, the
- 51:08Speaker 4: drinking in front of your daughter, don't fuck those people.
- 51:11Speaker 4: You heard the crowd, you heard the the roar, Like
- 51:13Speaker 4: that is such an awesome moment.
- 51:14Speaker 3: We were leaving, we were walking out because I had
- 51:16Speaker 3: to get home her family dinner night, Sunday night, and
- 51:19Speaker 3: we're like walking after the first period, and people are
- 51:22Speaker 3: stopping when to give her fist bumps, saying you slam
- 51:25Speaker 3: that water Canucks fans, predators, fans, everybody was all about
- 51:30Speaker 3: going to be a core memory that lives for Yes,
- 51:34Speaker 3: was that movie inside Out? Have you seen that movie
- 51:37Speaker 3: inside Out? Inside Out? Have you not seen it? Maybe
- 51:39Speaker 3: it's about a little like ten year old girl and
- 51:41Speaker 3: she has like these her emotions are in her head
- 51:43Speaker 3: and like the stories about her emotions and they're like
- 51:46Speaker 3: core memories. Yeah, it's a fucking banger. That's a good
- 51:50Speaker 3: one to put off her room. Yeah, because you'll tear
- 51:52Speaker 3: up too. It's so good. They have a new one
- 51:53Speaker 3: coming out also, I think the summer. Yeah, and it's
- 51:57Speaker 3: it's all about the core memories, like they're joys the middle, jealousy, sadness, anger, envy,
- 52:04Speaker 3: like all these other things. Oh, I love that And
- 52:06Speaker 3: you just see them all kind of working it, and
- 52:08Speaker 3: the next one's bet a girl going through puberty, and
- 52:10Speaker 3: I'm like really nervous to see that. Oh dude, don't
- 52:13Speaker 3: say that line. Take her to the moon for me.
- 52:16Speaker 3: You watch it, You're like, oh my god, it's crazy, dude.

- 54:37Speaker 4: dad hats. We have girl dad merch, boy mom merch.
- 54:39Speaker 4: You can get all that stuff.
- 54:41Speaker 3: But your boy.
- 54:42Speaker 4: My wife, she is in Paris for nine days, so
- 54:46Speaker 4: I got the kid. I got rue for nine days.
- 54:48Speaker 4: I had her over the weekend. We had a lot
- 54:50Speaker 4: of good times, a lot of good moments. I'm talking
- 54:52Speaker 4: coffee shops, pizza rias. We went and split a burger
- 54:57Speaker 4: and a milkshake over at joy Land. Phenomenal Burger's way
- 55:00Speaker 4: over at joy Lands. And by the way, my man
- 55:03Speaker 4: over there said anytime he was we want him to
- 55:05Speaker 4: come cook over at the bus. He's down to do it.
- 55:07Speaker 4: We can get some cater we worked out, but dude,
- 55:11Speaker 4: playgrounds and by the way, we did have some playground
- 55:14Speaker 4: drama and tell me, I want to know your thoughts
- 55:16Speaker 4: because I feel like this is where I'll struggle as
- 55:17Speaker 4: a parent, because I feel like everything is personal with kids.
- 55:21Speaker 4: I was trying to do the thing where Ruth's playing
- 55:23Speaker 4: and to where I'm not trying to be around her
- 55:25Speaker 4: at all times because she loves, like when dad's involved
- 55:28Speaker 4: with stuff. I'm trying to like sit back on the
- 55:29Speaker 4: bench and let her kind of time. Yeah, well, indulge
- 55:33Speaker 4: the player. She indulge the playground on her own. She
- 55:35Speaker 4: starts climbing up a bunch of stuff and she's climbing
- 55:38Speaker 4: there's these couple of kids who kind of sit at
- 55:40Speaker 4: the top and wouldn't let her come up, and I'm
- 55:43Speaker 4: like sitting back, but I'm immediately festering inside, Like legit
- 55:46Speaker 4: remind myself to just kids.
- 55:48Speaker 3: They're just kids.
- 55:49Speaker 4: I see one like patter on the head and they're
- 55:50Speaker 4: kind of talking to her, and I don't know what
- 55:51Speaker 4: they're saying, but I'm only envisioning like the worst stuff, right,
- 55:54Speaker 4: and then they kind of walk.
- 55:55Speaker 3: Off and Rufe. She's so sweet and shy.
- 55:57Speaker 4: She kind of just stands there and then she kind
- 55:59Speaker 4: of like looks at me, and I just kind of
- 56:01Speaker 4: do one of these things and she finishes climbing up.
- 56:04Speaker 4: But it happened a few times. And how do you
- 56:06Speaker 4: view that stuff? Because I get kind of angered, Like
- 56:09Speaker 4: I get like, you know, when I put ru up
- 56:11Speaker 4: and then she wants to go down the slide. If
- 56:12Speaker 4: it gets climbing on the slide, I kind of just
- 56:14Speaker 4: indirectly talk, oh, don't worry, sweetheart, you wait your turn,
- 56:17Speaker 4: because this kid's about to go down the slide and
- 56:19Speaker 4: they're climbing and then they kind of just sit on
- 56:21Speaker 4: the slide because they kind of know she wants to
- 56:23Speaker 4: go down and they don't want to move.
- 56:25Speaker 3: They're being shitheads.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, to where I'm like, oh, don't worry, they're
- 56:28Speaker 4: about they're about to finish, and then I like look
- 56:30Speaker 4: over at the again and then they'll.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Kind of finish. Yeah, very sweetheart, you can go.
- 56:32Speaker 4: But how do you handle that? Like in your mind?
- 56:35Speaker 4: Am I kind of overthinking? Because I feel like that's
- 56:38Speaker 4: what her making friends and her getting bullied. I feel
- 56:40Speaker 4: like it's really good.
- 56:41Speaker 3: That's the biggest fear, right is that they're not gonna
- 56:43Speaker 3: make friends, they're gonna get bullied. That type of thing.
- 56:46Speaker 3: For me, I do the same thing where I'll walk
- 56:49Speaker 3: up but oh honey, just wait your turn. This little
- 56:51Speaker 3: boy's about to go, and then you kind of look
- 56:53Speaker 3: at him until he's he feels so uncomfortable that another
- 56:56Speaker 3: adult he doesn't know is look at him that he's
- 56:57Speaker 3: gonna slide on the slide. Yeah. Sometimes I've had a
- 56:59Speaker 3: situation where I was at a farmer's market and some
- 57:01Speaker 3: kid was not being tight to willow and the parents
- 57:04Speaker 3: walked up and I said some of the parents, I
- 57:06Speaker 3: was like, I appreciate it. I like that. I was like, hey,
- 57:09Speaker 3: do you uh your kid was kind of being a
- 57:10Speaker 3: little rough with my kid. Your kid was trying to
- 57:13Speaker 3: try to hold something with my kid. And they're embarrassed immediately,
- 57:16Speaker 3: and I'm thinking, yeah, fix your house.
- 57:17Speaker 4: But that's to me, that's a good that's a good
- 57:19Speaker 4: thing from a parent if they like feel embarrassed.
- 57:21Speaker 3: All my fah blah blah blah.
- 57:23Speaker 4: It's the ones where I saw one little kid maybe
- 57:25Speaker 4: twenty months and starting to wander off the playground and
- 57:28Speaker 4: then like yelling up for mom and kind of like
- 57:30Speaker 4: getting a little nervous to where I'm sitting up on
- 57:31Speaker 4: my Yo, where's is kids? Yeah, And then I see
- 57:34Speaker 4: her all the way over on the basketball court and
- 57:36Speaker 4: I'm just thinking, man, this kid was kind.
- 57:37Speaker 3: Of months old. You're, yeah, just walking to stick around.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Like so my oldest when she's six, if she has
- 57:45Speaker 3: a situation with the kid at the playground, she comes up,
- 57:47Speaker 3: tell me, I'm like, all right, go talk to him
- 57:48Speaker 3: about it. I have her go confront the issue. But
- 57:50Speaker 3: if it's Willow who's three, I'll kind of help her
- 57:53Speaker 3: navigate the issue until she kind of sees how things
- 57:55Speaker 3: go down. And then when she gets old enough, I'm like,
- 57:57Speaker 3: all right, you go handle that problem, because then handed
- 58:00Speaker 3: the problem. Now they're problem solving themselves, and you're giving
- 58:02Speaker 3: them tools instead of just helping them.
- 58:04Speaker 4: Right, because the issue and I already know it, Like
- 58:06Speaker 4: I'm like wrapped around her finger to where I just
- 58:08Speaker 4: she's so sweet and like if kids come up and
- 58:10Speaker 4: they want to go on the slide and they're behind
- 58:11Speaker 4: her and they're kind of like they're being kids are
- 58:13Speaker 4: like ready to go down the slide, she'll like stepped
- 58:15Speaker 4: aside and let them go in front of her and stuff,
- 58:17Speaker 4: and she's kind of passive, but I just it always
- 58:21Speaker 4: just melts my heart when I'm like, God, do I
- 58:22Speaker 4: feel like do I feel like a situation is happening
- 58:24Speaker 4: right now?
- 58:24Speaker 3: Like do I need to jump in? How old are
- 58:27Speaker 3: the kids? They were?
- 58:28Speaker 4: I mean they were older, like one was probably for
- 58:31Speaker 4: the other probably six, the one that kind of patted
- 58:33Speaker 4: her on the head. And I'm just thinking, like she
- 58:35Speaker 4: gets bullied right now? Probably not, I'm overthinking this, but
- 58:38Speaker 4: she just kind of sits there all quiet and stuff.
- 58:40Speaker 3: I know, but she's really coming out of her shell
- 58:42Speaker 3: of not being so shy. Yeah, just like everything's just
- 58:45Speaker 3: turned too. Yeah. Every since she's turned too, it's been
- 58:47Speaker 3: really been happy, real yeah, and it's happy, excited, confident
- 58:51Speaker 3: comes up a little more like just not just mom
- 58:54Speaker 3: and dad. When you all are at my house the
- 58:56Speaker 3: other day and she was.
- 58:57Speaker 4: Just hanging with you and JP going out, that was
- 59:00Speaker 4: so awesome. Yeah, to know she didn't need to be.
- 59:01Speaker 3: By me, and so we started walking to the goats JP,
- 59:04Speaker 3: and Will come comes out of nowhere. I don't know
- 59:06Speaker 3: how you felt, but in my head, I'm like, yo,
- 59:07Speaker 3: go back inside. Will ruin the moment JP did try
- 59:12Speaker 3: to take it the moment he's trying to take it
- 59:14Speaker 3: all for himself at one point going down to see
- 59:15Speaker 3: the chickens. You guys were going down, and I could
- 59:18Speaker 3: see that you two were kind of just starting to
- 59:20Speaker 3: go down, so I had to be like, hey, you
- 59:22Speaker 3: want to see some chickens. She has chickens. I'm back though.
- 59:26Speaker 4: Is she's a JP fan. I feel like he kind
- 59:29Speaker 4: of rubs the boy Taylor kind of being around, which
- 59:31Speaker 4: is crazy three times as much as you myself.
- 59:35Speaker 3: She's a big JP fan. Jope, jot p. That's crazy.
- 59:40Speaker 7: I mean, I don't know what to tell you.
- 59:41Speaker 3: I put the work in. I've been around, he says,
- 59:43Speaker 3: I put the work in. It's just crazy. I'm gonna
- 59:45Speaker 3: say it. Blame it on my tall stature. Maybe it's
- 59:47Speaker 3: a little more intimidating and the fact that my that
- 59:49Speaker 3: wind start trying to scare it with a mask one time,
- 59:52Speaker 3: and that's all she talks about.
- 59:54Speaker 4: Yeah, every time we go to Taylor's house, mask all gone,
- 59:57Speaker 4: mask all gone. Yeah, the masks go upstairs, Win upstairs,
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: when yeah, Win had the mask on upstairs masks.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: On, Winn puts this like, uh this how to swing
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: your dragon toothless mask on and essentially just runs that real.
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: Yeah comes up over my shoulder and just just like
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: lean up and.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: That's when you sit back. And I'm like, no, that's
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: you can I watch out Will's handling. I go over
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: to Wind. I'm like, what are you doing? Yeah, you know,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: you're just like staying home. The mask isn't real. YadA YadA.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: She gets a little spooked. I don't know how big.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: And this Speeptober shall be, which will be a little
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: bit of work. I think it's got it's I'll tell you.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: That's my dad moment is. Winn loves it. Winn loves it.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: My dad moment is. This past weekend, Willow started really
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: talking about Spootober and buying in not only. She started like,
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: she's like because I told her, like, you'll be four
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: before Spootober. She said, she brought, oh, you'll be four
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: before then. And that's like been like the craziest thing
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: to her, that she's gonna turn four before the next
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: Spootober And have no idea why it's a cool thing
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: to her, but that's kind of yeah. And ever since
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: I got back from Next Go, dude, it's like only Dad.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: It's the first time ever it's been like only Dad.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: I only want that, Like she'll come in the room.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Like on the weekends, I'll kind of be get up
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: in the morning. I'll go do my little thing in
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: the recovery room and Tail will tell me that. Willow
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: will walk in the room be like, where's Dad, and
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: she's like, oh, he's not here, and she's like, all
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: right in this peace out and come meet me up
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: in the recovery room and I build ship and Mom
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: will be like, you want to play with mom? No? No, Dad? Yeah.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: She Willow is like super blunt too. She's just kind
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: of like, I kind of want you, like at the game,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: to go to the game. Last night, will was like, Dad,
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: I want you to stay and Mom can go with win.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: It's like, hell, yes, but I can't. I have to
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: go A day's gotta chug a beer, Yes, yes, sweetheart.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Mom is awesome. Yeah. Mom's great. Yeah, very transparent with
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: my kids about the beer chucking, like dad's got to
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: drink boost him. Yeah, first job. Yeah. And they fully
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: support me.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: And for any dads, they get a little nervous about
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: watching your kid on your own because I know it's
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: out there guys, like you know it's like, oh, you
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: baby sitting the kid. It's like, oh, no, I'm I'm
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: being a parent. But all so, it's really not that
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: tough man. They you negotiate with them better with mom
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: not around. Yes, like they listen, like like Rue has
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: been all time. Not that she doesn't listen, but there's
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: usually this back to back like if I want her
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: to do something, she doesn't want to do it, She'll
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: eventually say.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Like see mama, see mama, Mama holds you.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: And I'm just thinking, bro, you've got to whether it's
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: eat this, you gotta clean up that. It's really not
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: that tough man. And and I was I was getting sappy.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: I was watching an Instagram video and then it was
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: like it was talking about tough moments with your kids,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: and he's like, the best advice I can give is
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: picture yourself at eighty years old. When they're old, you're
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: kind of looking back at these fond memories and all
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: you want is for them to kind of be complaining
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: and be back in those moments. I'm sthing they're tearing
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: up kind of watching this Instagram video just being like
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I'm glad I get to have this week with Rue
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: because number one scoreboard with mom, but also like it's
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: it's been fun bro, it's been awesome.
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: You gotta sympathize, empathize, sympathize whatever it is, empathize, empathize
- 1:02:54Speaker 8: with the people out there that have like three kids
- 1:02:58Speaker 8: under five and they have to be.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: So no doubt different. Absolutely, I just have one, So
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: that is a very good point. And then the people
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: have too. It's like, why did I ever complain about one?
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: But it's one of those things I feel like, if
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: you know, if I'm out with rue, you know, I
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: ran into a buddy of mine and it's like, oh,
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: you're not helping me out, you know, and his wife
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: will be like, oh, Charles's doing this, Well maybe I
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: can go do this while you watch the kid. YadA
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: YadA YadA.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: But yeah, it's again, it definitely empathized with that. There
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: was this cat who had there where he was like
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: watching three. He's like, oh, yeah, you know, you just
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: He's like, the goal the game is this. You just
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: take him out to eat. You take him whether you
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: want to pack their lunch, and you go out somewhere
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: with the whether's outside. That way, you burn through time.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: You're all out of the house, you're not all stagnant,
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: and they're kind of having fun and then next thing,
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: you know, it's time for bed or it's time for
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: their nap when you bring them back.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: So you just you're always getting outdoors. That was kind
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: of the tippy game. Yeah, you get outdoors as much
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: as possible. Yeah, And there's like a study about like
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: kids with their dad solo and their mom solo, and
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: like kids naturally are like more comfortable with the mom,
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: so they'll show all of the emotion and not as
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: comfortable with the dad. So that's why they're like more
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: listening and more agreeable. Yeah, maybe because when we go
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: places tail and be like these kids ban sometimes like
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: they're a lot, and then she'll go somewhere and do something.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: I'll be think, this is nothing. I'll sit them down.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: We have team meetings, well say hey, team meeting. They
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: all run to the chairs, they know exactly where to sit.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: I'm like, here's what we're doing today, this, this, this
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: and this is there anything else you guys want to do?
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: And they give up and they have covered a couple
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: of suggestions. I'm like, yes, no, absolutely not. We'll go
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: through that and then we stick to the plan.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: And then if they start to get out of line,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: you just revert to the plane.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Hey, remember remember we talked with this, Remember the team
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: meeting and sometimes they get a lot of line. We'll
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: have a team meeting, a sporadic team meeting at the park. Yeah,
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: yoh yeah, got to have to Yeah, it's a must man.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: What what else we get on the dockets? Boys, I'm
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: excited about my shoutow. No free shout out this week.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: If you know, let's do a twist the question.

- 1:05:35Speaker 3: Okay, Benjamin Thick, Eric, Yeah.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't know. But when you die,
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: what is one stat you'd like to know about yourself?
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: How many times I nutted?
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: That's a solid one.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: I would like to know that we're up there. Yeah,
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: how many times do you think you have nutted? How about?
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: That's the question we could go to this. Yeah, would
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: say I'm an outlier. I feel like maybe every guy.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I'd say, we've put in ten thousand hours masters of your,
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: masters of our master of the craft. I don't know, man, dude.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: When Taylor and I first met, we were talking about
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: jerking it and she's like, how fast do you think
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: you could do it yourself? I was like under a minute,
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: and I put it to the test with her watching. No,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: I went to the bathroom. Oh that had been kind
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: of cool, though. Fifty six seconds t.
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: M I, t M I t M I. Were you
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: allowed to get yourself hard?
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: First? Brother? The thing? Yeah?
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: It hard?
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Right now? I had nah the part of the show
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: where everybody, what do what do we want to know?
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: What's your stat? I don't know.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: Do you guys have any like how many times you've pooped?
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: How many times, Like how many beers you've drank?
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Why you say pooped like that? I know it's like
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: his boob comment that one time, like moobies. There's a
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: lot of boobies in that ship. That's not a cooler.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: GP's always got fire once.
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: I would like to know how many people I've met
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: my whole life. I'll be cool.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: What do you think your number is?
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: Let's see, I have four thousand Facebook friends? What would
- 1:07:25Speaker 7: my number be?
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Think? What do you mean shake their hand? Introduced? Yeah,
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: just met though not remembered, right, I think you got
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: it a million? I think so thinking about college, bro.
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: Yeah that's true. I was thinking more like I was
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: really thinking probably like fifteen k no shot. You bring
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: up college though, Like that's a good point.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: You bring up college trips with your friends? Hey, what's
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: up them? JP? How many times have you said that
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: in your life? That'd be a good time.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: I mean the me and greet last week there were
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: thirty people there, true, met all them.
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: Boom my engagement party. A lot of people I have
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: never met before.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: Yeah, your wedding up there, there should be a lot of
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: people you've never met before.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Yeah, it'd be cool if there's a criteria like positively impacted,
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: like knowing how many people you impacted?
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: I think it would be cool to know. Taking a
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: step further Instagram followers on yours JP, is how many
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: murderers I've met?
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: Ooh, yeah, that would be.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: That would be they say you walk by, like, how
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: many killers you've met? How many people who have committed murder?
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: That's a good one, thanks, dude. Two good ones. Don't
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: forget the come one.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't forget the come one. I'm just piggybacking.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I think those are great ones. The positively give us something,
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: Give us something, bro, My brain's not how many times
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: you maj.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: Your kids laugh? How many times you picked up your phone?
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: How many blizzards I've eaten?
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: How many PP and J's I've had?
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: How many crackers of peanut butter you've had his dinner?
- 1:09:07Speaker 5: That number would probably be like ten crackers for dinner
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: would probably be maybe twenty to thirty.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: Keep whatever number he said you were gonna say, no
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: matter what I said you were that was a premeditated
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: mega cab.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: PB and jays though, that's pretty high.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: What about how many times you've said a curse word? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: like just a random one like the or like that
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: would go crazy, that would go crazy, or god, God, just.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Just d I keep I keep you guys, keep delivering one.
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: And all I do is think off of that one.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: There's no original thought come into my.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Head right now as his life. How many original thoughts
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: you've ever had?
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: Zero?
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: What about you? Gee? What about you? Jack?
- 1:10:05Speaker 6: Maybe like I wanted to do how many concerts? But
- 1:10:08Speaker 6: that seems just like a pretty standard number. But maybe
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: like how many minutes of music you've listened to, or
- 1:10:12Speaker 6: how many songs you listened to in.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Your own life? How many dollars you've gambled in your
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: life overall?
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: Now, when you say, are you talking like when you
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: put money out just on the table or the money
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: you've amassed.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: The whole time, money out on the table? How much
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: you think you've done in the last year. Yeah, I
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: mean it's basically your gambling career. Yeah, I bet it's
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: up there. It might be seven figures, because other than
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: that you just do kind of like definitely like the Boys' trips,
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: where you're just you know, you're ready to lose a
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: certain amount of money, so you're there until it happens. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: And also like if you think about just playing, like
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: when Jack and I go to Vegas, we'll be sitting
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: at the table for probably ten hours more some days,
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: and you're just sitting there. Ben. You win one, you
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: lose one. That's let's say you bet one hundre dollars.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: That's two hundred dollars right there. Yeah, yeah, I'd say, yeah,
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: it's got fire in the last year.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean because you've won that much.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: Oh, that's a good one. How many miles you've ran?
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: Mine would be low. Well, I think about the football
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: games you play your whole life, and you're you're running
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: at those times.
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: Now that you say that, what about how much weight
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: you've lifted overall?
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: That's a good one. Histon comments, Let what what's the
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: one stat you would want to know? Good question, good question?
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Your job, Benjamin, Thank god, Benjamin, Thank god for Benny.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Shout out, no free shoutout. You guys got something we
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: shall JP can get off, brother, I gotta pe.
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: All right, my shout out, no free shout out. It's
- 1:11:57Speaker 8: funny because Win had her moment. But I went to
- 1:12:00Speaker 8: Preds game on Friday, and there's nothing better than the
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: fan cam when it gets on to people.
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: I feel like it's the.
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: Most genuine form of happiness that you should just see
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: from everyone. The camera gets on a little kid, their
- 1:12:15Speaker 8: face lights up, they go crazy. It goes on an adult,
- 1:12:19Speaker 8: they light up. Even the ones that don't like it,
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: they still smile because deep down they do like it.
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and so which it's like, kid out, let it out,
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: don't be too cool for school.
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:29Speaker 8: So the fan cam, and it hits at every sporting event.
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: So shout out to the fan cam.
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: Shout out to the fan cam, Mitch, you got one
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: a ge.
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: So this weekend I was moving, like I said earlier
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: with so like thank you for let me use your
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: truck again. But also my shout out for a shadow
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: is when you finally do move and you're done with
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: the process and like you have everything settled, like that
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: feeling of like all right, this is my place now,
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: and like you all that stress of moving, all of
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: your shit is just done. All right, this is it,
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: this is my new where I live, where I habitat,
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: habitat now. So that fee I can't I'm looking forward
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: to that feeling.
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: Does that oh you're looking forward to I was gonna say,
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: does that happen? Quick for you, because sometimes I'm like, what,
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: there's there's other stuff that's not done that we're still
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: going to figure out.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: That's small.
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I got a bunch of small stuff
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: like left. Like I I enjoy moving to like like
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: I said, like being in a different spot. But the
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: process of moving all your shit, I hate that. I mean,
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: I'm sure everybody, but like I'm looking forward to being like,
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: all right, this is my this is.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Why I lived down.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: Did you throw away a lot of stuff?
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: I got rid of a lot of clothes, and I
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: like the stuff that's still in my apartment now is
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: just rand literally just random shit. So I just like
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: trying to get rid of some of that stuff because
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: Foul is already done moving. He doesn't have a lot
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: of stuff, And it makes me feel like I'm a
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: hoarder because I have a ship ton of stuff.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: But let it go, man.
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: I think that's a benefit too of like moving, as
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: you just start getting rid of a lot of stuff
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: that you've been meaning to for the longest time, you
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: just never have.
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: Yeah, so that's what I'm doing.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: My shout out of a shout out goes to I
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: guess winning the approval of your friend's parents. Yeah, I
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: had friends parents in town this weekend and they're here
- 1:14:22Speaker 6: for the marathon. One of my friends, Sydney, ran it,
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: and so two sets of parents are in talent and
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: you have that like first meeting where it's like you
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: don't know how the interaction is gonna go, if they're cool,
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: if they're gonna approve of you, especially when you have
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: like tattoos and stuff. You like, meet the dad and
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: you're like, I got a nosering but you know, I
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: say yes, sir, that type of mentality. And so we
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: we saw them a handful of times over the weekend,
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: and by the end of it, it felt like we
- 1:14:47Speaker 6: were all just like good friends and we're just having
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: a blast together. So shout out to the Chances and
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: the worshu Chevski's. So it's fun when you kind of
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: like find a little bonding point between the parents and
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: your friends. You've never met them before.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: So oh like that love that you got. G you
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: got one brother, Yeah, I got one.
- 1:15:07Speaker 9: It's gonna be a shout out to when you can
- 1:15:10Speaker 9: successfully stick it to the man. I recently had to
- 1:15:16Speaker 9: battle my current landlord over a situation where they're asking
- 1:15:19Speaker 9: us to move out sooner than our leases. So I
- 1:15:24Speaker 9: kind of sure some of those stresses, but eventually got
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: my way by putting my foot down and.
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: I will be able to pay movers.
- 1:15:37Speaker 9: So sorry, nich I don't have those stresses. But yeah,
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: shout out to when you can just kind of dish
- 1:15:44Speaker 9: it back to somebody who's trying to take advantage of you.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Now, was it like a confrontation put your foot down
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: or you were methodically?
- 1:15:51Speaker 9: I you guys would be proud. I handled this one
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: perfect because saying.
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: To frustrated G, he's not a G you want to
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: be in a conversation.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: Back from Alabama like the hotel?
- 1:16:02Speaker 9: Yeah, why don't you tell the people about that?
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: When I'm done, I will.
- 1:16:07Speaker 10: No.
- 1:16:07Speaker 9: So long story short, living in this house, I understand
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: that by the end of the lease there is a
- 1:16:14Speaker 9: chance that they're gonna want to sell the house. They
- 1:16:17Speaker 9: call me in March to tell me that they're not
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: going to renew the lease. That's fine, My lease is
- 1:16:22Speaker 9: through the end of August. They call me April first
- 1:16:25Speaker 9: to tell me they need me out by the end
- 1:16:27Speaker 9: of May. So then I try to explain the inconvenience
- 1:16:31Speaker 9: they're putting me in and that I would like the
- 1:16:33Speaker 9: security deposit back in full guaranteed, and they're given like
- 1:16:37Speaker 9: the whole If the house is in the right thing,
- 1:16:39Speaker 9: well then I'll stay till the end of my lease.
- 1:16:41Speaker 9: They're like, well, we really need to hit this window
- 1:16:43Speaker 9: to sell. It's like, I trust me, I get what
- 1:16:45Speaker 9: you need, but you need to play ball with me
- 1:16:48Speaker 9: a little bit. It was very even kill they They
- 1:16:52Speaker 9: did not want to have anything in writing, and so
- 1:16:55Speaker 9: that helped me not, you know, get too intense in
- 1:17:00Speaker 9: the conversation.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: Are they paying for your movers? Yeah? Nice? Yeah, and
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: you're getting the deposit back? Yeah nice. Let's sell done.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: Stick it to the man, yeah, bro solid and thincaes
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: you win all around.
- 1:17:16Speaker 9: Oh yeah. I would send them something and they'd be like,
- 1:17:19Speaker 9: can you call me? I was like no, Like I
- 1:17:21Speaker 9: know what if I did call them, I was like, hey,
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: I need you to respond in writing right right. But
- 1:17:28Speaker 9: we got that, we got it done.
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: I'm excited. Well, I don't want to oversell this shot.
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: It's a very simple one. But it happened when we
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: were in Chicago because obviously we get back to our
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: rooms around eleven, we got to wake up for an
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: early flight. But my shot out, no free shotow goes
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: to when your room is close to the elevator room
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: Room eight fourteen, Literally right when I get off the elevator,
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: it's right there.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: And obviously it.
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: Only takes like a minute or two to walk to
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: your room. But when you're walking long links, you're just thinking,
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: like you go down one hallway, around the corner, go
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: down another one, you see that your room is down
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: another corner. It's just like God, you gotta make a
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: trip down to the elevator. But when your room is
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: right there by the elevator, the convenience factor of leaving
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: your room, popping right on the elevator, and then when
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: you get back, you're right to your room, getting to
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: bed as fast as you can. It's a simple it's
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: a simple luxuries and boys time.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Only thing you can't get back.
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: Yeah, man, So shout out, no free shout out to
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: your room being close to the eyes.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: My shot out is gonna be obviously I gotta go
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: to win and yesterday, but it's really about when I
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: picked her up in the big smile on her face,
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: that she like truly have her a core memory. My
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: shoutout goes to core memories. Yeah, and having good ones
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: with your old man, and that is it was. It
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: was the best, due, it was truly the best. That's
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: my shout out for shoutout that's also wholesome.
- 1:18:46Speaker 9: I have one that I think all of us will
- 1:18:48Speaker 9: agree on, but shout out to Clump.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been an absolute grinder for us.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: One of our social media guys, one of our social
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: media producers, Jeremy clump He is accept at the job
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: with Yahoo Sports. So we were fired up for him.
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: Just an absolute grinder, this dude. We were like his
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: We were his fourth job. Yeah, he had a full
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: time job, two kind of contracted out jobs, well three
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: with ours, and it's just warked his dick off lost
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: one hundred pounds over the last year and he's now
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: catching a break and getting a big time opportunity with
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: the Yahoo Sports. Shout out Jeremy Clump Man. He's an
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: absolute soldier.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: Dude, from day one to how long has he been
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: with us? Three? Two years?
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: I think two football seasons, yeah, two football season.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Yeah. The first time I even saw a Clump in
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: person was at Olympics Balympics last year. Yeah. Yeah, And
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: but dude, the dude is just constantly grinding, getting after it.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: He's getting paid the way he deserves to get paid.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: We're gonna miss him. But man, what a stud. Yeah yeah,
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: shout out. Rip love you clump, love you clump.

- 1:20:12Speaker 4: while getting a haircut surebeats watching reflection and getting a
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: haircut or talking to the cats next to you, which

- 1:20:42Speaker 4: We got to sit, we got to go to the
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: University of Alabama. Last week if you guys haven't watched already,
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: we had Tyler book Tyler Bookron who's an offensive tackle
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: for Alabama. We had on Jalen Milroe, who's the quarterback
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: for Alabama. And we got this also sit with coach Debor,
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: who came from Washington, and we talked with him about
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: six obviously arguably the greatest college football coach of all
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: time in Nick Saban. We talk a lot about his
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: transition from Washington, going from that, going from that national
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: title loss to getting the job with Alabama, some of
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: the culture wrinkles he's bringing in Alabama. I can already
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: foresee headline coming out about you know, hey, they're.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: Playing music now.
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: They seem a little bit more loose at Alabama as
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: the culture. You can see some stuff already being created
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: out of that. But he talks about some of the
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: new things that he's bringing in Alabama, what got him
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: the job, succeeding Nick Saban, and how you know, in
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: those interviews with the players, we asked them about how
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: it's been in springball with coach the Boor.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: So check those out.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: You guys are gonna love this conversation with coach to Boor,

- 1:21:42Speaker 4: us in. I know that we've tried for a couple
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: of times and usually it's a very It's a tough
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: place to get in, so we thank you guys for
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: allowing us to see your facilities. A plus all around,
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: like you guys crushed it. You guys, Tyler Booker gave

- 1:22:48Speaker 4: our Uh, it's just like.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: I'm I'm someone with Will and I. There's been a
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: couple like that, I guess, look a look at Delaney here, Delaney,
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: so the dad hat. There's been like a couple like
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: the when I signed a contract with the Titans, I like,
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: wore this boss hog outfit all white, and I said,
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: daddy's here, and so like a couple people in Nashville
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: calling me dad for a little bit. And then when
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: Will and I met, that's what that's the origin story
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: of the dad march. That's how sorry, that's how I'm
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: telling the story how I was starting. And then uh,
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: when this story origin stories my first time here the
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: dad You remember that, right, Delaney? That's right. I know
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: that that is I know I know that that is
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: a moment in time. There's a moment in time that
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: I think of myself when I look at the dad hats,
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: I think, wow, I really did that. Yeah. And so
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: when Will and I first met, I had a very
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: young daughter and then a bean, the bean, and then
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: now I have two kids. Will's Will's got a daughter,
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: so we came out dad hats man because it's it's
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: a it's a culture. People don't know. There's all these
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: dumb jokes about will people know because they have dogs,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: you don't understand what it's like to have a kid.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: So you actually have a kid. So it's like a
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: nice little group is the best. Yeah, you're more than
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: willing to be in the group. If you want, we'll
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: send you a couple of hals.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: I got two girls, girl dad perfect, we have girl dad,
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: so we'll get you hooked up when.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: You were let's actually, by the way, Derek's calling me
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: back right now. Yeah, I want to make sure because
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: Jack's video that Taylor had a tough loss.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: Derek was texting and Taylor tried FaceTime, and then he
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: didn't answer Taylor's phone call.
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: But he's responding and texting back and forth the whole time.
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: Seven years teammates, seven years. Yeah, I tried to pot
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: it off always at OTAs trying to get his raven friends. Yeah,
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: and stuff like that. What do you want to start, Oh,
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: I want to start with your two daughters. When you
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: had two girls, did you think maybe one more? I'll
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: go for a boy.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: No, honestly no, I think once we got the younger one,
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: I think we were all good. Certainly would have been
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: fine with boys. And looking back on it though, and
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: now being a football coach, I think it's actually a blessing,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: you know, having no pressure on any boy and having
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: to play football and just enjoying who they are. And
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: you know, man, they love the game and they love
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: being around the team and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: And they both have totally different personalities and totally different
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: likes interests. But it's awesome being a girl, dad.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Were you like myself?
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: I was let down when I saw the pink come
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: from the cake that we were having a girl.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: Hey, not only he's true. No, he came his wife
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: came in with a cake at the bus and when
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: he saw that color it was there was no hiding it.
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: It was true disappointment that I was going to get at.
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: But as an athlete, which I can't wait to ask
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: you about, because you were a stud at Suit Falls,
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: were you hopeful for your for for the first kid?
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Were you hopeful that it was a boy?
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: I honestly didn't have feelings one way or another. I
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: really didn't better.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: Yeah, very politically correct answer. Yeah, strong, well thought out answer. Yeah.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: I was not gonna get anything mad with that one. Yeah.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I think it was meant to be. That's the way
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: I look at it.
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: So you have a few records coming up as a
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: wide receiver, do you keep a highlight tape close by
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: just to let the boys know that you can dabble,
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: that you can dabble with the best of them.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: No, I don't. Uh, it's nothing like what these guys
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: are here at this level. They would turn that on
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: and uh have a few laughs. So, uh, I'm proud
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: of what we did, but as a team, but that
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: level was a little different.
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: Than record in yards, receptions, touchdowns. You played some semi
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: pro ball as well. What as you were going through
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: as you're as an athlete going the semi pro bawl
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: route in that moment in time, are you sitting there
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: you're trying to gather tape to try to get to
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: the next level, or after you had a couple of
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: years you're like, okay, I just I need I need
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: to start making a pivot going into the next thing.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: Yeah, are you talking the football Pece?
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, football piece.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Yeah. From from with the football, it was just you know,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: indoor football there and Falls enjoyed a couple of years
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: kind of right there at home, and I was already
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: on into coaching high school ball and kind of onto
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: while you're playing things while I was playing, So you
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: know that was that was just a kind of a
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: side hobby that's with you during those two years. And
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: got into the college coaching there at university who Falls,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: and then kind of had to put everything else on
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: the back burner and move on with the.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: Career obviously, like coaching, you've done an amazing job, You're
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: at one of the most prestigious universities of all time.
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: But playing and realizing that, okay, this is the road's
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: coming to an end of my playing career, Like how
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: was that transition for you? I know you were coaching already,
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: but was there ever that point where you're like identity
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: crisis or anything like that.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: No, I don't think it was at that level. I
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: enjoyed the relationships, I enjoyed the friends. I knew that
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: there was definitely a ceiling and I had probably maxed
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: out that ceiling as a football player myself, and so,
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: you know, great times, but it was time to move on.
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: Yeah, though, You've been wildly successful as a head coach
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: in the NAI ranks, three national titles. I think you
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: were sixty five and three as a head coach with Washington.
- 1:28:07Speaker 4: I mean a two time coach of the Year. I
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: think you twenty five and three with Washington. What do
- 1:28:12Speaker 4: you feel like you've cultivated, whether it's values, philosophies over
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: the years to have that much, to have this much success.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I always go back to when I was a player
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: at Two Falls. We were two and eight my freshman
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: year and we were fourteen to no national champs my
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: senior year, and I knew what the culture looked like,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: what it felt like as a player the first year,
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: and also what it took to get there over those
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: four years. And I always just remember that, And it
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: was the relationships. It was the you know, just the
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: consistency you got from the people that were in the
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: building or on the team, and just the work that
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: it put in and so it made it was fun,
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: which allowed you know, and I enjoyed the process, which
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: you know, I think our entire team did. And so
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: I try to make that what we have here, you know,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: and wherever I've been and try to make an environment
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: or facilitate a you know, an atmosphere that's full of energy.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: You know that you know you can find them driven people,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: let them go do their thing, whether it's coaches or players,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: and they enjoy each and every moment. They enjoy each
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: you know, everyone that's a part of it, and just
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: just let's go have some fun. Let's cut it loose.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: Let's make the most of every opportunity we get.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: Turning back to your success at Washington, you were the
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: only coach to go eleven or more wins in consecutive
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: years and then you get the call from the Crimson Tide.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: You just competed for a national championship. What was your
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: thought process when that phone call did come.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the timing of everything. I think is
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: what really makes it extra hard through all of this,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: because my time at Washington is going to be for
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: me and my family probably the best time of our life.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: You know, those two years there and the way we
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: were embraced from a community aspect to the team, to
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: just how much fun it was working with our staff.
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: It was a special time that I know we all
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: are going to cherish forever as a family and individually
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: as well. But you know, just the opportunity to come
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: here to Alabama knowing this program and what the history
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: was all about, and getting a chance to meet Greg
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: Byrne and just really hearing the vision, understanding the interests
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: and how excited he'd be to have, you know, me
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: leading the football program. That meant a lot. And you know,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: did a goutt a chance maybe over twenty four hours
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: to do a little bit of just kind of investigating
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: and kind of really thinking it through and talking to
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: a couple of people that I'm close with, But it
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: just it just felt like, you know, this is something
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: that was too good of an opportunity and it's just
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: been an awesome experience here these first three to four months.
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: Is that how quickly you had to make that decision?
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: Was twenty four hours?
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean I pretty much had to make the
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: decision if I was offered a job. You know, That's
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: really how it really comes down to, you know, and
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: you know, and I understand why, you know, in the
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: just the environment we're in college football, the timing of it,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: you know, we're talking the middle of January retaining a roster.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: I just the urgency that it needed to be to
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: keep the program moving forward. I completely understood why, you know,
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Greg Burn told the team, you know, give me seventy
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: two hours, you know, and you know that was that
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: was that urgency if I was going to be the
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: football coach. I knew getting down here and being around
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: these guys and just being NonStop and trying to build
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: these relationships and keep things together in the first two
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: weeks while I was here, while I'm building the staff,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: was going to be critical for our immediate and long
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: term future.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: Were there nerves involved in the interview process, like you're
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: going you know, you have your success at Washington, You're
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: going after this Alabama job.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: There's always that kid in us that's like you go
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: to the next stage, you go to the next thing.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: Were there any nerves involved in going after this job.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: No, not at all, because I had a great place
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: where I was at. You know, really, it was more
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: about making sure that this was going to be a
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: good fit, that this is going to be a place
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: I could see, you know, myself, you know, being successful
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: and you know people that I was going to be
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: enjoying the journey with, you know, from Greg Byrne to
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: to others here in the athletic department at the university.
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: So in all honesty, no, because I was at a
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: great place and so you know, it's just a matter
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: of really thinking it through. And you know, I think
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: the piece that I truly tried to make sure it
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: was I wasn't getting caught up in the emotions of
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: the ups and downs of what we had just been
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: through with the season and trying to really take a
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: step back in a short amount of time and have
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: some perspective on everything, because you know, we had had
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: such an amazing year and you know, on a Monday
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: night in the national championship, you know you're the wins
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: taken out of your sales, and you know you're trying
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: to support your team and your your your staff. But
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: you know, I just wanted to make sure I ain't
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: caught up in that, and uh, you know, taking a
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: step back as much as I could and in the
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: moment was important.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: You've obviously had a lot of experience being being an
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: athlete yourself. You know, you set records, you go to
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: the NAIA, you win national titles there, you uptick into
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: the vision and college football realm. You win a Pack
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: twelve title, you take a team to a national championship,
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: in sports, like as athletes, coaches, everybody in the performance world,
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: you're always you know, you're moving, you're moving up the ladder.
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: You're coming in to succeed somebody like U arguably the
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: greatest coach of all time in Nick Saban. How has
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: your experience moving up, you know, in your journey helped
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: you kind of not see these expectations you come into
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: a seat like Alabama and succeeding Nick Saban, Is there
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: anything with that that you think about?
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Well, I think my journey in general is just something
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I'm super proud of because I've always focused on just
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: where I'm at. And really it's never been about getting
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: to an Alabama or it was never even about getting
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: even to a Washington or Fresno State. I mean, go
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: on and on. It was about just coaching ball, loving
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: the moment we're in, you know, raising a family, and
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: doing it with other people that had the same like
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: minded interests as I had in all those areas, both
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: football and family, and so, you know, just enjoying that
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: journey and joying that ride. But I think, you know,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: coming here, I just can't say enough about again being
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: embraced by the community. You know, coach saban Uh. He's
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: so respectful and how he's trying to handle and he
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: wants to see the program. You can just tell he
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: wants it to be great, and he he wants it
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: to continue to go this direction and and us continue
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: to build on all the things he's put in place.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: And so he's almost been over the top, respect respectful,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: trying to keep that distance, and you know, I want him,
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: you know, to always know that, hey, this is this
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: is our program because everyone who ever set foot in
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: these buildings, and that's alumni, that's former staff members, everyone
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: who made this place great are always going to feel
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: I want them to be a part of it.
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: When you like, when you play with other Alabama players,
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: it's like they've taken a drug or something like that.
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: They're so obsessed with Alabama truly. Like there's literally times
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: I walk into the cafeteria and Rashaun Evans and Derreck
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: Henry are disappointing people. You lost to Alabama. You lost
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: to Alabama. A lot of pride there, they truly have,
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: like of any other team, the most school proud I've
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: ever seen anybody else. And so now, like Will just said,
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: you're taking over for a guy that is arguably probably
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: the greatest college football coach of all time. You're walking
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: into a room where guys when they commit to this school,
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: they're expecting to win national championships. So they don't argue
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: about how many games they win. They argue about how
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: many national championships They went, oh, you only got two?
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: I got Yeah, which class was better? Was there any
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: point for you where you sit down, You sit in
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: a nice chair that Nick Saban once sat in, and
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: you go, oh, fuck, like this is this is I mean,
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: there's gotta be a level of like, this is a
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: lot of responsibility. And you're walking into a room of
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: these guys signed up to be coached by Nick Saban
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: and now you have come in, You're like, we're gonna
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: run this. This is gonna be our offense. And keeping
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: these kids around, especially with Nil, there's got to be
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: a lot of tremendous you know pressure on that.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know, you know what you signed
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: up for. And I guess it just always goes back
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: to everyone's human and I think that being around these guys,
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: you understand the reasons why they came here into this program.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: And it's Alabama football. It has a lot to do
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: with coach Saban. You know, the guys in their commitments
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: to be in here, but they are just so proud
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: of this program and they want to be the ones
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: that carry on the legacy of this place. It's been
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: fun being around the alumni that that do have that pride.
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: I feel that and it's you know, it's not an
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: ego thing. It's pride, you know. And these guys that
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: are in this program that chose to stay here over
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: the last couple of months, they believe in this place
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: and they know what we can accomplish. I have an
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: appreciation that they understand that it's really about them and
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: them sticking together. And the ones that stayed many are
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: they are resilient. They're hard headed in some ways because
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: they they man, we got to win a championship. We
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: got a chip on our shoulder, and you know, people
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: think we're gonna fall off because of the transition and
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: all that. So it's been fun locking arms with them
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: and you know, helping them realize their goals and the
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: reasons that they came here and help it help us
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: through and make this progress.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: Jalen Milroll was quoted by saying, you prove that you
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: were the right man for the job. Every single day
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: during springball. What has your relationship being like with him?
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: He's been He's special. He just has a heart of gold.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: He wants it so bad, both personally and also for
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: this program. He's you know, takes on the responsibilities of
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: being the quarterback at Alabama with such grace. He's there
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: for others. He's willing to give as much as he can.
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm you know, just always checking in with him
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: to make sure he's good because he gets pulled in
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: a lot of different directions. But in the end, he
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: loves getting out there. He loves the game of football.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: I mean we've talked about that a number of times.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: He just loves everything that surrounds it, from the teamwork
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: and the leadership that he is asked of him to,
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: you know, just work, working on the daily skills. He
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: loves the film. He just loves so much about the
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: game itself, and you know, it's fun being around guys
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: that are willing to put in all the things and
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: make the sacrifices needed to go be great.
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: When you walk into the team meeting room for the
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: first time, what was your message to the team when
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: you first took the job.
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: It's a great question.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that was That was Friday night, and I
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: knew that this was a group that had been through
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: a lot just in the past couple of days. You know,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: I don't remember exactly what that message was. It was
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: a whirlwind for me and my family as well. Just
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: a few hours earlier. You know, it kind of pretty
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: much been off for the job. You know, been through
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: my emotions within in regard to you know, everything of
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: Washington still certainly and even come close to getting through that.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: But knew that the team just needed to hear that.
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: I was excited about, you know, joining them, meeting them,
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: meeting them where they're at, and getting to know them,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: and appreciated their patience because with all the noise that
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: was around the program and and all the noise that
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: they were probably hearing individually and you know, being pulled
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: in different places and going different different directions, they just, uh,
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: you know, their belief in Alabama was something you could
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: tell and feel right away. And uh, there was there's
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: a connection with a few of the guys, and I
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: think those guys quickly just uh, you know, held the
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: team in place. There were some staff members here that
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: did a great job. But you know that was that
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: was a meeting, I think, just to to get in
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: there and tell them, you know how excited I was
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: to be a part of this special place I have, I.
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: Have, I have another one. I was just I wanted
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: to ask Hi about his very first phone call when
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: he heard that he got the job.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I I felt like it was kind
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: of going in that direction. So it wasn't necessarily a surprise,
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: but it was, you know, I think it was just
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: more about being honored to to, you know, to have
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: that responsibility to be the head coach here. It's just
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: something again I won't take lightly. And you know I
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: had thought through, you know, the night before just if
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: this opportunity came up working just talking through with my family,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: you know, you know what that would all mean and uh,
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: you know, the moving and the life changes and stuff
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: that we'd be going through. So but from a program standpoint,
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: it's just such an honor and a privilege.
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: I want to talk about the big dogs for a second,
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: the Hogs. How has it been for them transitioning in
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: this offense? Because they were they obviously ran a lot
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: of zone read with Jalen in the backfield last year.
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: But it seems like you guys, from what I was
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: told in the small little snippet, is you guys going
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: more zone outside zone type stuff. How have they been
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: picking that up? Because for me, transitioning from like a
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: duo gap scheme type offense into like the zone was
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: like was at one point I wanted to quit. I
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: was like, this is horrendous. And then and then quickly
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: I was like this might be the best offense you
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: can possibly be in. How how have they handled that transition?
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: I think that I think it's been great. I think
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: that really it's not that far off from what we
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: what they did before. It's just a matter of where
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: your tendencies, where your priorities. You know, how many reps
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: you're practicing a certain concept versus another based on compared
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: to how they did it before. We certainly got to
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: use Jalen's skill set and you know, have him be
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: a threat to with the ball as much as possible. Uh,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: And so you know, I don't feel like there's as
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: many changes as maybe you know some of the guys.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: I think, you know, it's been seamless. Coach Cap has
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: done a great job. He's well versed in all the
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: schemes that we've done before, as well as being able
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: to help the guys translate things you know that they
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: had done technically of you know, language wise in our offense.
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: Just that translation. He's he's super super sharp and uh,
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: you know, his relationship with these guys. You can see
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: it coming out as the spring's gone on, and just
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: how much better they got from practice one to practice fifteen.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: I think it's probably the position group that if I
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: had to pick one or two, they would certainly be
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: in that mix as far as the improvements that they've
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: shown here in the spring.
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: When you're looking at when you're recruiting guys, like everybody's
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: got all the tangible things, the surface level things. What
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: are some intangibles or some values or character things that
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: you look for, like when you're recruiting guys to a
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: place like Alabama.
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there's uh, you know, you know, toughness
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: is always going to be something that I think is
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: just critical of what doesn't matter where you're at. I
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: think the game was meant to be played that way.
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: The championship teams have that mental toughness, that physical toughness
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: that you have to have. But I think there's also
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: the discipline, accountability along with just you know, a personality
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: that's kind of like wide eye, just excited to learn,
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: excited to grow. I just feel like they haven't arrived
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: and that there's a there's a there's there's not a
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: ceiling that they're they're looking at and they're far from
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: it if they if they think there is. And so
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: it's just a matter of you know, growth mindset and
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: you know, guys who want to come in here and
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: be a part of something, not just you know, it's
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: all about me and uh you know, so we always
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: talk about in terms of our non negotiables being family, accountable,
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: and toughness, and so you know, I think I hit
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: on also all three of those and just doing it
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: the right way, do it with class, integrity, and also
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: you know, while you're here, making sure we get that
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: degree as well.
- 1:43:17Speaker 3: A couple of fun questions. You got a couple, I
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: got a couple of fun ones. Okay, give them a couple.
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: Oh hang on, let me go one, let me go
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: one more serious boy?
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: Who Okay, what traditions of Alabama do you that you've
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: learned about that you're keeping and keeping part of the program,
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: and what are some things culture wise, tradition wise do
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: you feel like you're bringing to Alabama.
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: That's a that's a really good question. And I think
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: that everything. I don't want to say every day I
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: learned something, but I think, you know, there's a there's
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: been many times you're like, Okay, I think I got this,
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: understand I think I understand this. I understand that you
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: know what's important, what's been done for decades, what's been
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: done just maybe over the last year, you know, and
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: understanding this was this sounds like something they really like,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: but is it really a tradition?
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: And so you know, just I think guys just the
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: pride they have in some of the simple things, uh,
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: you know, how they look, and you know how we
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: practice and you know, tucking shirts in and for workouts
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: and practice. I mean, those are just things that just
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: the pride of the place that come out. Obviously, there's
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: the walk you know that we had and that's special
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: and you know, seeing those guys do that a A
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: was was really cool. But you know, the fourth quarter
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: program is something these guys just really believe in. And
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: so a lot of these traditions are things that just
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: are are they're so accustomed to And I could go
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: on and on, but you know, keeping some of those
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: things and and still bringing in the things that I
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: think have been been good. If it adds, it adds
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: to our culture and it's something that you know, the
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: guys might enjoy. You know, we're going to balance that
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: between you know, Hey, these are really important aspects of
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: Alabama football and these are some of the things that
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: have worked for me. And you know, I'm not married
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: to a lot of things, but I think it's more
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: about the feel and the energy and what can what
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: can we bring to add to what's already here?
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: Did I read Did I read something about thunderstruck?
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that's with the with the out out in our
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: game day.
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: You know the walk that is that you r is
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: that of it? Was that a Bama thing? That's Bama?
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: I mean that goes that goes hard strug goes hard song. Yeah,
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: it's a it's a classic football song. Yeah. What's a
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: core value? Not a core value, but what is like
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: a non negotiable thing that you've brought with you to
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: Alabama as far as a culture deal. This is how
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: we're gonna go about business.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: Honestly, there's I mean there's probably the guys would probably
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: the probably guys would probably say there's a lot of things.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: You know, what would the players say something that's something
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: a wrinkle that's been thrown in.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: You know, Well, I actually I can't think it's something.
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: The one that made some waves early in the spring
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: was you know, we play music in practice, you know,
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: so that was something that hadn't been done before. So
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: not that I feel like you have to, but I
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: think there's a lot of benefits that can come from it,
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: you know, trying to you know, well, first of all,
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: the juice and energy, the vibe that can it can create,
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: but also I think there's ways you can utilize it
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: for even you know, distractions, right, you know, and so
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: you know, there's a lot of distractions on game day, right,
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: one hundred thousand people, there's music playing in the stadium,
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: and so I think there's a lot of things we
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: actually and I tell these guys, I'm intentional on telling
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: them the things that maybe I'm trying to do someday
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: when I feel like they're even super locked in, you know,
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: just cranking it up a little bit louder to see
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: if see if they can work through that and you know,
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: listen a little harder, you know, communicate a little better,
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: you know, hand signals and stuff. You know, you always
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: practice noise stuff, you know, throughout the week, especially you know,
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: home and away, depending on if your offense and defense.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: But you know, those are just some of the things
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: that I think think are our benefits of that. That
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: was something that hit the i know, the waves a
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: little bit and our guys, our guys enjoyed it, you know,
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: and enjoyed it, and again it's been a positive.
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: Its as players, I think we can all agree with
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: the music is the music? Is the music? Are you
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: taking requests or is this a set playlist?
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: Yeah, there's we have specific people and it's been it's
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: been transferred on. Uh. Robbie, my guy from Washington, he
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: started it, and I'm like, you know, we gotta have
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: the clean versions. We gotta have that. You know, we
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: got around brown practice but uh, you know you know
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: that that and I think he's kind of pushed it on.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: So they'll certainly take requests. Yeah, and at some point
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: I'm sure they'll get the themes of the day or
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: themes of the week and uh and so forth.
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: So you mentioned something about tucked in shirts and and
- 1:47:48Speaker 4: basically details of how you operate around the facility, on
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: the practice field and everything else. Do you feel like
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: you got those you feel like you had some of
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: those ideas when you talk all the way back to
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: I was on a two and eight team, losing team,
- 1:48:01Speaker 4: and then I was part of a national championship team
- 1:48:03Speaker 4: when you played, like how those locker rooms look differently
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: and what it takes to win and even if they Hey,
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: I might sound ridiculous saying you have to have your
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: tucked in shirt, but there's a way, I promise you
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: if you just trust me. These are the things that
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: it takes over and over consistently to get to the top.
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: You got to think Saban's a tucked a shirt guy.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: Got to Yeah, it's great, true, but.
- 1:48:23Speaker 4: Being a part I mean, we've all been a part
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: of bad locker rooms. We've been a part of good
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: locker rooms. And what good culture looks like in bad
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: culture looks like a hearrings.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, well I think, I think, I think
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: is what all these things whenever you're talking about you know,
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: those type of uh you call it non negotiables or
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: whatever they are I think it always it always goes
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: back to pride in who we are and that you're
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: willing to be a part of a team. And and
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: it's not a sacrifice, but man, looking good for us
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: is important. And this is one of the things that
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: we think is about looking good and looking unified and
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: and looking the way you're supposed to when when you
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: representing Alabama, you know, whether it's in the weight room,
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: whether it's on the practice field or on game day,
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: you know, and so you know what what your facility
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: looks like, and are you picking up after yourself. Those
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: are just like those are classy things you should do
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: as just a human being, right, and it shows that
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: you know the simple things. We're not going to overlook
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: those and just be out there and focus just on
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: the football part. And you know, I know many programs
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: and many people have said the same thing, and I
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: truly believe it. How you do anything is how you
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: do everything, and those things right there, and how you
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: treat people. We're on the road, you know, I have
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: no doubt that these guys are gonna you know, travel well,
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: you know, represent themselves in our program in a first
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: class way home way wherever they're at on their own,
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: doesn't have doesn't have to just be when we're together
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: as a team. But those values come out in those
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: type of actions and those type of things that you
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: feel are important to your program.
- 1:49:53Speaker 10: How you do anything and how you do everything. So phenomenal, phenomenal,
- 1:49:57Speaker 10: unless you want some good here. When I'm nervous about
- 1:50:01Speaker 10: my fun questions, yeah, well I just don't want to.
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: I mean, I'm nervous too. When you say you're nervous.
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: Of us, Now that awkward, really important.
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: There's just playing everything out of play because I got
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: to because I don't want to be that. I'm not
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: going to be nasty, but I want to I want
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: to talk about I do want to talk about Michigan
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: a little bit, if that's okay. And but you've said
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: there's there's pain there, and I don't want to go
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: in a direction that. This has been a fun interview.
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: It's been a good time, and I just don't want
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: to ruin the interview, So I'll please, I'll pivot and
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: we'll just talk about the SEC for a second. All right,
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: A lot of bad dogs out here, a lot of
- 1:50:45Speaker 3: strong dogs out here, a lot of strong head coaches.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: If it really came down to it and you had
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: to fight these head coaches. Do you think you're losing
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: to any of the head coaches?
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: Man, I'm not even going there.
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: There, we won't do any work.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: I mean they can different.
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: I think who's a who's a head coach? And this,
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: you know, out of respect for the head coach, like
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: who's a head coach? You would love to obviously win
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: the game, but you're you've obviously competed in your own
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: journey to get to you know, Washington. Maybe it happened
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: in Washington, maybe it hasn't happened yet, but that you would,
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: you know, love to be across the sideline on and
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: you kind of pinch yourself like, Yo, I'm coaching against
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: so and.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: So and being obviously I mean I think a lot
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: of those coaches are are here. Uh, and I guess
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: I even just going back, you know, the last two years.
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: UH has so much respect for you know, these coaches
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: that have been doing it for many years, the coordinators
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: working their way up. Just very similar to the journey
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: I've been on, and so I've I've stolen a lot
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: of stuff just like every coach does from from everyone.
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: We've watched the film. We've watched the you know, cutups
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: in the off season and so you know, you know
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: you learn how you learn what to do, you know,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: maybe not what what not to do sometimes, you know,
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: uh as far as like handling your team, uh, you
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: know publicly, socially and all that. So there's a lot
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: of these just are pretty much the coaches in this
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: conference that have nothing but respect for and you know,
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I know that every Saturday, you know, you got to
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: be at your best. And that's how it is. Uh.
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: I think at Alabama anyway, everyone's gonna bring their a game.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Uh, We've had conversations about rivalries, and we've had a
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: lot of teams and people that I know, and they
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: felt like Alabama was their rival, you know, just because
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: you know, it was such a big game each and
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: every time that game was played. So I'm excited about,
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: you know, lining up and you know, being challenged to
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: be my best each and every week against all these coaches.
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: Is there a coach that, as you're progressing through your
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: learning curve as a an offensive coordinator, a head coach,
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: whether it's a mentor or a coach out there that
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: kind of jumped out at you when you're learning about
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: situational ball and how to you know, if you saw
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: somebody else in it one way, you kind of dove
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: into their tape all season long. They kind of helped
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: you along the way.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: I think, you know, there's been coaches, especially when I
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: was a coordinator and after I'd been a head coach
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: for five years at small college, and you know, I
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: think about the leadership aspect and how you know, Chris
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: Creighton at Eastern Michigan was just you know, I just
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: learned so much on how bringing a team together happened there.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: I think about Jeff Tedford and how you know we're
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: there were one and eleven before we got there, and
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: it was you know, we're not gonna We're gonna take
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: our guys and we're gonna maximize what they can be.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: And the next year, you know, you're ten and four
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: and then twelve and two and really had nothing to
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: do with bringing a bunch of portal guys in. It
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: was taking who you had right there, believing in them,
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: putting some structure and organization together some you know, offensively.
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: I learned a lot, you know, during those two years there,
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: and then you know Indiana, you know, being thrown in
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: the mix there with you know, just being part of
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: the Big ten and being challenged to be your best
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: at the power five level. And so you know Tom Allen,
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: you know, so you know he just the passion he
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: brought out stuck with me, you know, and how he
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: dove into the relationships with the guys, and so it
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: is something at every place along the way. I think
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: it's a lot of times the people you work with
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: each and every day, the position coaches that I continue
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: to learn from. I'm learning from something from our coaches
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: right now. You know, hired an amazing staff and to me,
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: that's the key. Has never stopped learning, never stopped growing.
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: Up of your staff. Nick Sheridan, he and I played
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: together in college. What have you seen from him.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: From who Sheridan Sharick, Yeah.
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, what have you seen from college? Yeah? I
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: was I was a young boy, he was senior. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: What have you like seen from him to make him
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: the man for the job to be the OC? Yeah?
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: Well, first of all, working backwards, he's done an amazing
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: job this spring just pulling everything together. He's he's more
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: than ready for this opportunity. You know. The cool thing
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: about him is that he he was patient. You know,
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: there's opportunities he certainly could have had over the last
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: couple of years, you know, because he is someone who
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: is known as a very bright mind, understands the game
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: on another level. But we had a chance to work
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: together in twenty nineteen at Indiana and he, you know,
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: from a from an ego standpoint or just an unselfish standpoint,
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: moved from quarterbacks to tight ends, and you know, for
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: me to come in and coach quarterbacks, which I feel
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: is a big piece of being an offensive coordinators being
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: in that room every day, you know, but learning and
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: working with him, I remember just thinking how bright he
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: was for considering, you know, his age and how many
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: years he had actually been at high level of football
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: already at that time. Then two more years at Washington
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: you know where again he's just right there. You know,
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: brings a lot of ideas, brings a lot of just
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: game planning thoughts, helping you pull everything together. It's details,
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: but it's also a big picture all mixed in one.
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: And then he's just such a great relationship builder. He's
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: got great personality. Guys I think enjoy being around him.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: He leads in a way where he's firm. You know,
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: he's got his things that he feels strong about, but
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: he also you know, enjoys, enjoys, you know, just the
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: camaraderie and enjoys working together with the staff. And he's
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: done an awesome job having the entire staff all feel
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: a part of it, you know, And that's I think
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: been a big part of my success over the years
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: is having you know, the strengths and of everyone and
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: tapping into their strengths, you know, be why we were successful,
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: whether it's offensively or as a full team.
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: With guys that are working under you, and you become
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: such a cohesive group, especially with all the success that
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: you've had, Guys are eventually going to leave. They're going
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: to go to you know, find they're going to elevate
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: themselves and try to become head coaches just like you.
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: When you see yourself having the success you did at
- 1:56:55Speaker 3: Washington and and ever we will have here, do you
- 1:56:58Speaker 3: keep something in the back of your head, be like,
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: all right, if this guy goes and I have these
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: two guys in my head as are always a constant
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: game plan of a depth chart of who you would
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: want to fill those spots.
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: Well, I mean, in a way, it kind of happened
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: here already. You know, Ryan Grubb was was the offensive
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: coordinator you know, Washington with US and and coming here
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: and then got the opportunity to be with the Seattle Seahawks.
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: And you know, there are guys that I would love.
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: You know, I'm strong on trying to keep the continuity
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: of your system. Of course, the people is where it
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: all starts, but the continuity of the system. And and
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: I know offensively that continuity of our system will always
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: exist because it's the system that you know, we've built
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: over over many years now. But both sides of the ball,
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: there certainly is a method and uh, I've done this
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: at Fresno, did this at Fresno State, did this at Washington,
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: where there's there's some depth to our staff. Guys, many
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: guys who have called games as coordinators at the power
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: five level on both sides of the ball, Guys who
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: you know are just oh ego, willing to come in
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: be part of it right now. And you know, again hopeful,
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: I hope we are so successful to where those opportunities
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: come up for our staff. You know, that's how I
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: got to the place where I'm at. And you know,
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: I'd be pretty hypocritical if I didn't say that, if
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: I didn't want to root for these guys to get
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: their opportunity someday as well.
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: Do you have a favorite post game ritual after a win,
- 1:58:23Speaker 4: whether it's a post game you like, I always love
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: the post game cigar, post game beer, postgame milkshake, post
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: game burger.
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: Something with the family. Yeah, maybe indulge on a meal.
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always with the family. It's always And you know,
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: you play day games, you play night games, so it's
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: never it's never the same, but you know, it's always
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: with the family, you know. And if if it's a
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: day game, you'd love to have the staff over. And
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: I think that's one thing I'm excited about here is
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: just proximity and where we're all going to be living,
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: you know, when you have that time, just continue to
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: grow our group together. I'm really excited about that. But
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: you know, I think you just get you're so exhausted
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: usually from a game and the things that go into it.
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: Winning a football game at the college level is hard.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: I don't care where you're at. It takes everything, and uh,
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: you know, enjoying it for that little moment before you
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: flipped the Sunday Sunday morning and started all over again.
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: I think that's a big part of the process. So
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: trying to take a deep breath and just enjoying what
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: happened that day after a win is a big part
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: of I think the process.
- 1:59:30Speaker 3: Think, thank we feel good man. That was that was awesome. Yeah, yeah, man.
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: All over the country. And really appreciate you guys coming
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: to see us.
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: Yeaheah, I mean I was nervous about being here. Yeah.
- 1:59:42Speaker 3: I mean you walk in the door and you look
- 1:59:44Speaker 3: at a bunch of rings and.
- 1:59:45Speaker 4: Watch it immediately like, oh my god, we're in the present,
- 1:59:50Speaker 4: You're in the mecca. But yeah, thank you very much.
- 1:59:51Speaker 4: Everybody's been awesome to us, and thank you for this interview.
- 1:59:54Speaker 4: It's been incredible.
- 1:59:55Speaker 3: We really do appreciate it.
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: I mean, I appreciate that respect because I know where
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: you guys played too, you know, and uh, you know
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: that's that says a lot about you guys. So thanks
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: for thanks for coming and coming to join us.
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: Yes, sirs, you and we'll hook you up with the dad.
- 2:00:10Speaker 3: We'll hook you up with some dad.
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: I need it, I need it. I'll take it.
