The book of Revelation begins with the apostle John seeing a vision of the glorified Christ that was so powerful he could not remain standing. Through this vision, Jesus gave John a message for the seven prominent churches of Asia Minor that he had a pastoral relationship with. Jesus had something specific to say to each of the seven churches in addition to the unfolding future events that would be true for all of them.
