Transcript
- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Last episode we were at the zoo learning animal names: సింహం, పులి, ఏనుగు, కోతి. Lucas: Exactly. Today we'll stay at the zoo but start describing them. So instead of just saying 'lion', we'll say 'the lion is big'. Luna: Oh, I like that. So I can say something like సింహం పెద్దది? Lucas: Perfect! Say it again? Luna: సింహం పెద్దది. Lucas: You've got it. సింహం means lion, పెద్దది means 'is big'. So సింహం పెద్దది — the lion is big. Luna: What about elephant? Lucas: Yes! The elephant is big. You can use పెద్దది for any big thing. Luna: But the monkey is small, right? So కోతి చిన్నది? Lucas: Exactly. చిన్నది means 'is small'. కోతి చిన్నది — the monkey is small. Luna: కోతి చిన్నది. That's easy. And for beautiful? Like the tiger? Lucas: Beautiful is అందంగా ఉంది. So పులి అందంగా ఉంది — the tiger is beautiful. It flows nicely. Lucas: You know, if Fexingo has been helping you make progress with Telugu, a few listeners support us through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That's what keeps this going ad-free. Luna: Yeah, it really helps. We appreciate every bit. Lucas: Alright, back to the zoo. Let's try a full sentence: సింహం పెద్దది. Luna: సింహం పెద్దది. Lucas: Now imagine you see an elephant. What do you say? Luna: ఏనుగు పెద్దది. Lucas: Yes! And a monkey? Luna: కోతి చిన్నది. Lucas: You're nailing it. One more: the tiger is beautiful. Lucas: Ahh, yes. Now let's switch it up. What if you see two animals? The lion is big, and the monkey is small. Lucas: Excellent! You added మరియు which means 'and'. Luna: I remember that from earlier episodes. Lucas: Great memory. Let's practice all four today: సింహం పెద్దది, ఏనుగు పెద్దది, కోతి చిన్నది, పులి అందంగా ఉంది. Luna: Let me try: సింహం పెద్దది, ఏనుగు పెద్దది, కోతి చిన్నది, పులి అందంగా ఉంది. Lucas: Wow, that was smooth. Now you can describe animals at the zoo. Luna: This is so practical. I can already imagine pointing at an elephant and saying ఏనుగు పెద్దది. Lucas: Exactly. And people will understand you. Let's do one more round: I'll say the English, you say the Telugu. Luna: Okay, ready. Lucas: The lion is big. Luna: సింహం పెద్దది. Lucas: The elephant is big. Luna: ఏనుగు పెద్దది. Lucas: The monkey is small. Luna: కోతి చిన్నది. Lucas: The tiger is beautiful. Lucas: Perfect. Now you can describe any animal. Until next time, keep practicing these phrases. Luna: Yeah, practice makes progress. See you next episode!
