- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So we're going to talk today about an experience that I just
- 0:32had because it's so infuriating that I'm quite sure all of you
- 0:38have had it. Now let me loop this back and
- 0:41close, close this up before I even start.
- 0:43We are all in business one way or another.
- 0:46When, whether it's our business or we work for somebody else and
- 0:48we have roles in businesses, we all do a specific thing for our
- 0:53jobs, our our, our way. We connect with other people and
- 0:57one of, in my opinion, one of the most, if not the most
- 1:00important experience of that is what the client experience is,
- 1:04not what our experience is within our job.
- 1:07It's what is our client experience.
- 1:09So for instance, in my world, if you're a coaching client and you
- 1:12text me, I'm going to answer you back.
- 1:15It might take me a couple hours, but it's not going to go on
- 1:18forever. And if it does, it's because I
- 1:19didn't get the text. If you need help with something,
- 1:23I'm going to help you with that. If you were working on a
- 1:25project, a website, brochures, writing something, I am always,
- 1:31that's the rule, going to make sure that I'm helping my clients
- 1:34with that. And I stand by that adamantly.
- 1:36It doesn't matter what it is. If I have to jump in and do it,
- 1:39I will do it to help them because I want their client
- 1:42experience to be outstanding, not average, not good, not
- 1:46great, outstanding. And that's part of why I do what
- 1:49I do the way I do it. That's a rule I have now this
- 1:53morning. Let me tell you, I, I, I take my
- 1:57beliefs everywhere I go. And I expect other people to do
- 2:01those things as well. To a certain point.
- 2:03If you have a business like, you know, you go into a restaurant
- 2:05and you know the restaurant or you see that it's the person
- 2:08that owns the place, you're like, they make you want them to
- 2:11make a nice effort. I mean, if you're spending your
- 2:13money and your money, you work hard for your money.
- 2:16You want them to make a nice effort.
- 2:18Well, that effort comes across in not just their conversations,
- 2:22but it comes across in their websites, which is so, so
- 2:26important because your website is a connection of your sales
- 2:30process. So this morning I need to get
- 2:32something for one of the kids and I need, I do a Google
- 2:35search, it comes up, get it on Walmart.
- 2:37Go to Walmart. They don't have it in stock.
- 2:40They can have it by Wednesday. Great.
- 2:41That's really great. I like I'm happy.
- 2:44Then we go through the process from hell about do you have have
- 2:48an account? I don't know if I have a Walmart
- 2:50account. No, I never really buy from
- 2:52there. So it it says sign in or for the
- 2:56best experience. This was the line for the best
- 2:58experience, sign into your account.
- 3:00Well, I don't need the best experience.
- 3:01I just want to order it and have it there, but it won't let me do
- 3:05it unless I create an account. So I finally say, fine, I I'll
- 3:09create an account even though it's telling me it keeps auto
- 3:13populating that I have something.
- 3:15Then it tells me, sorry, we're unable to create account for
- 3:18you. And I do this three or four
- 3:20times before I want to throw my apple out the window because I'm
- 3:24so aggravated that this is how their experience is.
- 3:27So right now I'm a client. I can't get through.
- 3:30I can't order something. I want to buy something from you
- 3:33and you keep rejecting me because of an account.
- 3:37You don't have a bypass to that like every other website has out
- 3:42there where you can just bypass it and order as a guest.
- 3:46I mean, for crying out loud people, this is and this is part
- 3:51of client experience. So when when you are doing
- 3:54something, you have to remember every single step of the way.
- 3:58I am constantly touting, go back to your own website, look at it
- 4:02and say, if I didn't know about me and I landed on this website,
- 4:06what would I think? What would I want up there?
- 4:10What would I want people to see about me?
- 4:13How would I want people to know? It doesn't have to be like it's
- 4:16a, it's an encyclopedia up there.
- 4:18It doesn't have to have tons of stuff.
- 4:20It has to be clean. It has to be clear.
- 4:22It has to have your phone number, your emails.
- 4:24It has to be able to, if you have products online, order them
- 4:27with ease. Order them with ease.
- 4:30And if you have not tried to order one of your own products,
- 4:34for crying out loud, try to order one of your own products
- 4:36and see what the process is. I mean, this is not rocket
- 4:41science, but it is incredibly important and it was a great
- 4:45reminder for me to give to everybody today because of the
- 4:48absolutely arduous experience. Now here's the key.
- 4:52I still haven't ordered what I wanted.
- 4:54I still haven't ordered it. And now I'm like, I'm not giving
- 4:56them my business Now I'm just like, I'm not going to give it
- 4:59to them. I would rather change my mind
- 5:01about what I was getting and give them the business.
- 5:05Isn't that crazy? I mean honestly, isn't that an
- 5:07insane way to feel about something?
- 5:09Yet this is how I feel about it. So in any event, check out your
- 5:15stuff, make sure you understand that experience and make sure
- 5:18you're making it pleasant for people.
- 5:19Otherwise, boy, it sends quite the message about us, doesn't
- 5:23it? OK my friends, I hope you have a
- 5:25blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:27Bye.
