  A two-minute call from God's playbook to

  know him better so we can love and obey

  him more. Let's huddle up and hear

  today's play from Matthew 13. Says,
• 0:16
  "They look without seeing and listen
• 0:19
  without hearing or understanding because
• 0:21
  the heart of this people has become dull
• 0:23
  so that I could heal them. Whoever hears
• 0:26
  the message about the kingdom but
• 0:28
  doesn't understand it produces nothing.
• 0:30
  But what was sown on rich soil, they
• 0:33
  will surely bear fruit. Jesus tells us
• 0:36
  plainly, "They hear but they do not
• 0:38
  understand. They see but they do not
• 0:40
  perceive." The heart of this people has
• 0:43
  become dull. Sadly, this is true today.
• 0:46
  Many of us hear God's word, sit in
• 0:48
  church, maybe read a little scripture,
• 0:50
  but our hearts barely respond. There's
• 0:53
  no repentance, little obedience, and
• 0:56
  proof that's scarce. So here's the
• 0:58
  question. What has God produced in your
• 1:01
  life? Jesus describes four types of soil
• 1:04
  in this chapter. The path where the word
• 1:06
  comes, but the enemy snatches it
• 1:08
  immediately. No change. The rocky
• 1:11
  ground. The word is received with joy,
• 1:14
  but there's no depth. Trouble comes,
• 1:16
  faith collapses. The thorny path. The
• 1:19
  word is heard, but worries, wealth,
• 1:21
  distractions choke it. Nothing grows.

  Finally, the good soil. You hear, you
• 1:27
  understand, you obey, and you produce
• 1:29
  fruit. People coming to Christ,
• 1:31
  disciples growing, lives transformed.
• 1:35
  Paul reinforces this when he says, "Test
• 1:37
  yourselves to see whether or not you are
• 1:39
  really in the faith." 2 Corinthians
• 1:42
  13:5. For today, test your soil. Are you
• 1:46
  truly repentant or just agreeing with
• 1:48
  the scripture? Are your actions proving
• 1:50
  your faith or is it just merely words?
• 1:53
  Do you fear men more than God? Are you
• 1:55
  silent about Jesus when you speak? Is
• 1:58
  your life dominated by comfort and love
• 2:01
  God's word goes undone? Fruit is the
• 2:04
  evidence, not emotion, not church
• 2:06
  attendance, not activity, but real
• 2:09
  lasting impact for God's kingdom. So run
• 2:12
  today's play. Examine your fruit.

  Identify what's choking your obedience.
• 2:18
  Repent and reorder your priorities. Put
• 2:20
  yourself where God's word must produce
• 2:23
  fruit. Subserve it. Witness and
• 2:25
  obedience. Men, good soil doesn't happen
• 2:28
  by accident. It's cultivated. Hear,
• 2:31
  understand, obey, and bear fruit for the
• 2:34
  glory of God, for the life of your
• 2:36
  family, and for eternity. Let's walk in
• 2:38
  obedience, men, and produce fruit that
• 2:40
