Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, we are back on normally the show with normal
- 0:05Speaker 1: it takes for when the news gets weird.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I am very Cathern Kant, I am Carol Marcowix. This
- 0:11Speaker 2: has been It is a really long week.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Huh.
- 0:16Speaker 2: And I'm not even like trapesing through the Middle East.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I know, just.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Early halfway through it. It's because it starts the week's
- 0:24Speaker 1: start on Saturday or Sundays. He starts breaking news, right
- 0:27Speaker 1: and then yeah.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah, Donald Trump, can you let us have some time
- 0:32Speaker 2: off because this is a lot. It's a lot and
- 0:35Speaker 2: all the time.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You thought you wanted to switch it up from Biden,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but you we even though we've been through this before,
- 0:40Speaker 1: you didn't know how much get.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yes, this second term is way more hectic than the first.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And I could use some Trump at the golf course
- 0:50Speaker 2: days to be to be really honest with you, I
- 0:54Speaker 2: see that those are my mental health days.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yes. Could I have like pitched to people who are
- 1:00Speaker 1: closer to the White House than I am that he
- 1:02Speaker 1: talks so much and he does so many events that
- 1:06Speaker 1: if they would just put them on a podcast feed,
- 1:10Speaker 1: I would just have that running in my house and
- 1:12Speaker 1: folding laundry all the time, So I would actually get
- 1:14Speaker 1: to hear everything he says instead of hunting down each
- 1:17Speaker 1: individual thing. But that would be that would be someone's
- 1:20Speaker 1: full time job, right, just ripping Trump audio, putting it
- 1:24Speaker 1: on a podcast mark it would.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Be the number one listen to podcasts in the country.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I think Joe Rogan, who you know, I think he
- 1:32Speaker 1: would do well. That's the way to pitch it to him.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Would you like the number one podcast in the country, sir?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Lots of money? Oh, you guy have to have to.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Take ad breaks for like relief factor, but other than that,
- 1:48Speaker 2: but yeah, it is.
- 1:48Speaker 1: A striking contrast to the last president, who is our
- 1:52Speaker 1: first story today.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Joe Biden not doing well during the presidency. I didn't notice.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Well, there's some breaking new, Carol. I'm going to give
- 2:01Speaker 1: you about a minute of the NBC Nightly News last night.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Last night. This is a twenty twenty five.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Okay, twenty twenty five, this is the NBC night Leaders.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Meanwhile, there are damaging new details tonight about former President Biden.
- 2:17Speaker 3: A new book alleges serious concerns about his mental acuity.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Gab Gutierrez joins US now and gay President Biden's team
- 2:24Speaker 3: is now responding to this reporting.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's right, Leicester.
- 2:27Speaker 4: According to an excerpt from the new book obtained by
- 2:30Speaker 4: NBC News, it was quote obvious to many at a
- 2:33Speaker 4: fundraiser last summer that then President Biden did not know
- 2:37Speaker 4: who George Clooney was, even though they were longtime acquaintances
- 2:40Speaker 4: in Clooney is one of the most famous men in
- 2:43Speaker 4: the world. The book, by journalist Jake Tapper and Alex
- 2:46Speaker 4: Thompson goes on to say former President Obama, who was
- 2:49Speaker 4: also at the event, had to hop in and finish
- 2:51Speaker 4: sentences for Biden during photo ops. In separate excerpts, the
- 2:55Speaker 4: author's right that Biden would forget the names of longtime
- 2:59Speaker 4: aids and that there were internal discussions about putting the
- 3:02Speaker 4: president in a wheelchair in a second term. At the time,
- 3:06Speaker 4: the White House publicly defended the president's fitness for office.
- 3:09Speaker 4: A Biden spokesperson now says the authors did not fact
- 3:13Speaker 4: check the book with them, adding we continue to await
- 3:16Speaker 4: anything that shows where Joe Biden had to make a
- 3:18Speaker 4: presidential decision, or where national security was threatened, or where
- 3:22Speaker 4: he was unable to do his job.
- 3:24Speaker 1: He was a very effective president.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Breaking Carol, you know, I look at their faces I'm
- 3:31Speaker 2: a poker player, and I'm always looking for little tells
- 3:34Speaker 2: of when people are lying. I can't find that Lester
- 3:38Speaker 2: or Gabe are lying in that clip. They really think
- 3:41Speaker 2: this is news. I think that they really believe that
- 3:46Speaker 2: he was okay. I don't know what else to say.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I don't see the lying face on them. I do
- 3:50Speaker 2: see it in other people. However, I enjoy.
- 3:52Speaker 1: The Biden team's assertion that y'all should have fact checked this.
- 3:57Speaker 1: You got to run this by us, right not? I mean,
- 4:00Speaker 1: those days are apparently gone now that you're dispensable.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Well, I don't know about that. Our old friend Brian
- 4:06Speaker 2: Stelter tweeted today that Jake Tapper said many of the
- 4:11Speaker 2: sources for original sin book wouldn't be candid with us
- 4:14Speaker 2: until after the election, and Brian adds, well, sorry, Tapper ads,
- 4:19Speaker 2: Thus we now have facts about what was really going
- 4:22Speaker 2: on behind the scenes, with details about the Democrats wouldn't
- 4:25Speaker 2: share with us until after election day. They didn't have
- 4:27Speaker 2: the facts, Mary Catherine, nobody told them the people. The
- 4:30Speaker 2: next thing, you know, in the White House didn't tell them.
- 4:33Speaker 1: The next thing NBC Nightly News is going to tell
- 4:35Speaker 1: me is that Trump wasn't a Russian plant, or that
- 4:38Speaker 1: Hunter Biden was not in fact an international expert and
- 4:43Speaker 1: renowned artists, or or that maybe schools didn't actually need
- 4:47Speaker 1: to be closed. All this breaking news and it could
- 4:50Speaker 1: come to pass. I mean, we were reaching sort of
- 4:52Speaker 1: ludicrous levels of media reporting on media finally noticing what
- 4:56Speaker 1: eighty percent of Americans noticed in two I just I
- 5:01Speaker 1: understand that there are more details now. I also the
- 5:06Speaker 1: details that they're debuting are not the details I want
- 5:09Speaker 1: at all.
- 5:09Speaker 2: If you want to know who was running the country,
- 5:11Speaker 2: thank you.
- 5:12Speaker 1: If you have access to these people. I need to
- 5:15Speaker 1: know who was the president. That's what I need to know.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Not I don't need to know when George Clooney got
- 5:20Speaker 1: embarrassed enough about the president that he needed to write
- 5:23Speaker 1: it out bad. That's not what I need to know, right.
- 5:26Speaker 2: It's funny that him not recognizing George Clooney brought down
- 5:30Speaker 2: to his straw. And you know, I've said this on
- 5:36Speaker 2: the show before, but as I get older, I am
- 5:39Speaker 2: so bad with faces and names, Like I just so
- 5:42Speaker 2: I hear you, Joe Biden, who could recognize George Clooney.
- 5:46Speaker 1: So there's a great part actually in this excerpt that
- 5:50Speaker 1: ran in the New Yorker that has an aid walking
- 5:56Speaker 1: Joe Biden around and like this happened a lot. Is
- 5:58Speaker 1: the thing. You could see it with your eyeball. Someone
- 6:01Speaker 1: was walking him around and the way he's walking him
- 6:04Speaker 1: around in this retelling of it at this fundraiser where
- 6:07Speaker 1: they're raising tens of millions of dollars for this guy
- 6:09Speaker 1: to be president for another four years, he's introducing him
- 6:14Speaker 1: to folks and he's like, going down the lines, I
- 6:15Speaker 1: thank of an like for Renner, and then he says,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you know George, right, Like that's how he introduces him
- 6:24Speaker 1: to George Clooney because like Grandpa needs to be reminded
- 6:27Speaker 1: who George is. And he's clear, it's very clear he
- 6:30Speaker 1: doesn't know who George is. And he's like, Grandpa, George Clooney. Fact,
- 6:37Speaker 1: he's like and he's like, ah, yeah, George, I know you.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It's just all so on the nose. Uh. And that's
- 6:47Speaker 1: why none of the back covering or like the covering
- 6:51Speaker 1: of it now doesn't make up for them, because every
- 6:54Speaker 1: voter could see this, right, You could see it happening,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and the reporters themselves on many a network at that event.
- 7:03Speaker 1: The one where we saw Obama lead Biden off stage
- 7:07Speaker 1: and we were like, oh, that seems bad. They were
- 7:10Speaker 1: like no, no, no, Jeep makes fit as a fiddle.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Look, they only have two options, right, They were either
- 7:19Speaker 2: lying to us or they were blind. So I will
- 7:23Speaker 2: accept either one of those that they just completely didn't
- 7:25Speaker 2: want to see what was in front of their faces.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I only accept that though, if they admit they're part
- 7:32Speaker 2: of a left team and they are their tag group,
- 7:36Speaker 2: the Democrats. Fine, you didn't see it because you didn't
- 7:39Speaker 2: want to see it. Because you didn't you weren't told
- 7:41Speaker 2: to see it. It's because you're on a squad with
- 7:45Speaker 2: the Democrats. That's why admit it, and we can all
- 7:48Speaker 2: move on from here.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Well, and here's the thing that's very useful to have
- 7:52Speaker 1: going on right now. If you're looking for the energy
- 7:54Speaker 1: that this press corps can put into a health issue
- 7:58Speaker 1: for a politician if they find him inconven please look
- 8:01Speaker 1: into the coverage of John Fetterman this week, which when
- 8:04Speaker 1: he was a lefty that they approved of was oh,
- 8:08Speaker 1: he's so brave for seeking treatment, he'll recover fully. And
- 8:12Speaker 1: now that he's inconvenient, we're looking at five six hit
- 8:15Speaker 1: pieces a week on John Fetterman. So that's what it
- 8:20Speaker 1: looks like when they want to cover something like this.
- 8:23Speaker 1: In this case, I think you're right, Carol, that the
- 8:24Speaker 1: group think and the demands of being ideological fellow travelers
- 8:28Speaker 1: meant that they were like, we're good, I see nothing.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And another part of this that I think helped create
- 8:37Speaker 1: this situation is that in order to be a good
- 8:40Speaker 1: ideological fellow traveler in twenty twenty and twenty one, when
- 8:43Speaker 1: he started his when he had his campaign and the
- 8:45Speaker 1: beginning of his presidency, what do you have to do
- 8:47Speaker 1: never see anyone in person? So good lib reporters were
- 8:51Speaker 1: all like, oh, obviously we can have no access to
- 8:53Speaker 1: the president. That's aokay with us. We couldn't be good
- 8:56Speaker 1: libs if we didn't, if we were trying to give
- 8:58Speaker 1: our COVID, you know. They so they created this environment
- 9:04Speaker 1: that in order to be a good LIB you protect
- 9:06Speaker 1: Joe Biden. And the way you protect Joe Biden from
- 9:08Speaker 1: COVID is also to protect go to make Joe Biden
- 9:11Speaker 1: from reporting. Isn't that neat? Isn't that neat? Yeah?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Unfortunately they kept that going into like twenty twenty three
- 9:19Speaker 2: and twenty twenty four and he rarely answered questions, and
- 9:23Speaker 2: they didn't seem to mind. It became like, why are
- 9:27Speaker 2: you wanting us to ask the president questions?
- 9:30Speaker 1: What kind of you? Yeah? Well, and there's the one
- 9:34Speaker 1: last part of it, which you're you're right, they should
- 9:36Speaker 1: just say like, look, this is why we missed it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: You should name names of who lied to you, if
- 9:42Speaker 1: people in the White House were lying to you, because
- 9:43Speaker 1: again I want to know who was doing that. And
- 9:47Speaker 1: then the last part is you got to apologize for
- 9:49Speaker 1: having smeared everyone who didn't make the same mistake. That's right,
- 9:54Speaker 1: that no, but like that would be part of the reckoning, right.
- 9:59Speaker 2: You know, Alex Thompson, who is the co author on
- 10:01Speaker 2: this book, was actually decent on this question. He actually
- 10:06Speaker 2: was asking whether the president had simply, you know, reached
- 10:10Speaker 2: the point where he was toold to run for reelection.
- 10:14Speaker 2: He was, but his co author Jake Tapper less so.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And there's a segment where Jake tears into Lara Trump.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And it's funny because yesterday Alex Thompson tweeted clips of
- 10:26Speaker 2: Jake Tapper saying like kind of saying, people are asking
- 10:30Speaker 2: whether the president is all there. People are saying that
- 10:34Speaker 2: maybe he's not. But what Alex Thompson said was setting
- 10:38Speaker 2: aside the Laura Trump segment, Well, you can't set that aside.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that's a really big segment where you saw
- 10:46Speaker 2: Jake Tapper try to get around the issue and accuse
- 10:50Speaker 2: her of lying or spreading falsehoods about Biden's situation.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Well, and the argument in that clip and many others
- 11:00Speaker 1: throughout the years was it's a stutter, and I'm sorry
- 11:04Speaker 1: it wasn't a stutter. Stutter, even if it was less
- 11:08Speaker 1: bad in twenty twenty, which would be a mitigating factor
- 11:11Speaker 1: a little.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Bit, it wasn't a stutter, right, It just wasn't.
- 11:17Speaker 1: We could you could see him get off Marine one
- 11:19Speaker 1: and not know how to walk into his own house
- 11:22Speaker 1: like that is a problem. And there were plenty of
- 11:27Speaker 1: people who were frank about it early, right, and should
- 11:31Speaker 1: get the plaudits that journalists are now getting for finally answering.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Alex Hampson, by the way, also did actual reporting on
- 11:38Speaker 1: like the kind of shoes they had put him in
- 11:40Speaker 1: and how they were working with his gait. And then
- 11:44Speaker 1: I'm just going to reiterate it doesn't really matter about
- 11:47Speaker 1: his gait or whether he was in a wheelchair, if
- 11:49Speaker 1: his brain worked and he was able to do the job,
- 11:51Speaker 1: he wasn't doing the job right.
- 11:54Speaker 2: You know, I have to find this clip. But like
- 11:58Speaker 2: when he was vice president with Barack Obama, so you
- 12:02Speaker 2: know this has to be pre twenty sixteen. He spoke
- 12:06Speaker 2: to middle schoolers. Tom Elliott posts live tweeted it at
- 12:10Speaker 2: the time. I don't even think he posted a clip.
- 12:12Speaker 2: But he ends up like ranting and raving to these
- 12:14Speaker 2: middle schoolers about like oil companies and like the just
- 12:19Speaker 2: nonsense things that like, no, the children are sitting there,
- 12:22Speaker 2: like what are you saying? And this is before Trump's
- 12:26Speaker 2: first term, so yeah, it only got progressively worse from there.
- 12:29Speaker 1: There's one thing that's like telling in this piece, in
- 12:32Speaker 1: this excerpt that maybe they're not truly reckoning with it,
- 12:35Speaker 1: is that they put it in Clooney's perspective. But they
- 12:39Speaker 1: say Biden gave a rousing State of the Union address
- 12:43Speaker 1: in March of twenty twenty four, and I'm like, that
- 12:47Speaker 1: wasn't good. That wasn't a good I know where bar
- 12:51Speaker 1: is low, yes, but when he gave that speech, you know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: I always say that like they found a way to
- 12:56Speaker 1: sort of respute in him to where he needed to
- 12:58Speaker 1: be most of the time. And that was one of
- 13:00Speaker 1: the nights where they like, he was out there, he
- 13:02Speaker 1: was shouting, he was doing shout whisper, he was going
- 13:05Speaker 1: to a big shout, he was doing the whole thing,
- 13:08Speaker 1: and like, yes.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I'm a shout whisper.
- 13:10Speaker 1: He did say the words, but it was not a
- 13:15Speaker 1: good speech. This is not a speech by a guy
- 13:17Speaker 1: who you went like, yeah, he needs four more years,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and that the idea that we were still sort of
- 13:23Speaker 1: being fooled in March of twenty twenty four, when a
- 13:27Speaker 1: lot of us were like, h right, no, no, no, yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I mean you bypassed your primary season. But that's not
- 13:32Speaker 1: our fault.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Right, They did that on purpose. I mean, let's be
- 13:37Speaker 2: real about that too. They could not move Kamala Harris
- 13:40Speaker 2: off the stage. I don't know how they were planning
- 13:42Speaker 2: to do that. It's funny because I you know, I
- 13:46Speaker 2: got stuff right. I like to repost my column from
- 13:48Speaker 2: twenty twenty two saying that something's wrong with the president,
- 13:51Speaker 2: but I got stuff wrong. I didn't think Biden, sorry,
- 13:56Speaker 2: I didn't think Biden would step down. I didn't think
- 13:59Speaker 2: he would not run. I thought I thought he would
- 14:01Speaker 2: make it to the end. And Buck Sexton, who had
- 14:03Speaker 2: the same prediction I did, likes to say we were right.
- 14:06Speaker 1: He did run, he just didn't finish the race. And
- 14:10Speaker 1: he didn't he didn't even run. He didn't even really
- 14:13Speaker 1: step down, so exactly.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Like maybe he knew he stepped down, maybe he didn't.
- 14:18Speaker 2: But the thing was that I knew that they could
- 14:21Speaker 2: not replace him with Gavin Newsom or I don't know.
- 14:25Speaker 2: There was all these crazy ideas Michelle Obama, it was
- 14:27Speaker 2: going to be Kamala Harris no matter what. And I
- 14:31Speaker 2: was like.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Oh, they're not going to do that.
- 14:33Speaker 2: That's a crazy thing for them to do.
- 14:36Speaker 1: So yeah, I am enjoying. I am enjoying the debate
- 14:39Speaker 1: that they're having. You know, the the Lebron Jordan Goat
- 14:42Speaker 1: debate is always very interesting because they both have they're
- 14:45Speaker 1: both incredible. They're both incredible. I'm a Jordan gal myself,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and so it's a it's an interesting debate because you
- 14:52Speaker 1: can continue to talk about it forever. This is like
- 14:56Speaker 1: that but worst of all time, because both of them
- 15:01Speaker 1: were so bad that they're like, oh, well, she only
- 15:05Speaker 1: needed more time. If she'd had more time, I think
- 15:07Speaker 1: she would have done worse. She needed least time, and
- 15:10Speaker 1: He's like, I totally could have beat him, and I'm like, no,
- 15:12Speaker 1: you couldn't. You were much further behind than her, and
- 15:15Speaker 1: she's terrible.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I still think Biden would have done better
- 15:20Speaker 2: than she did. I know I do, because he was
- 15:24Speaker 2: despite being not with it and the fact that he
- 15:27Speaker 2: was definitely losing it. I think people trusted him and
- 15:32Speaker 2: they knew him in a way that they just didn't
- 15:34Speaker 2: know her. And I think that's what they mean when
- 15:35Speaker 2: they say she needed more time to gain the voter's trust.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I just don't think she would have because she was
- 15:42Speaker 2: not capable of it, right, the whole like not going
- 15:44Speaker 2: on Joe Rogan wasn't about going on Joe Rogan. She
- 15:47Speaker 2: could not talk for two hours, she could not talk
- 15:49Speaker 2: for an hour.
- 15:50Speaker 1: She couldn't right, she wouldn't be able.
- 15:53Speaker 2: To do any of that without making some major major gaffs.
- 15:56Speaker 2: So I mean she had less time, she had a
- 15:59Speaker 2: better shot.
- 16:00Speaker 1: As from a liberals point of view, just like you know,
- 16:03Speaker 1: they can't imagine how anyone would ever see Trump as
- 16:06Speaker 1: an option, So just from their point of view, if
- 16:08Speaker 1: you're arguing about these two Yeah, just know that she
- 16:11Speaker 1: was so bad as vice president that she lost a
- 16:14Speaker 1: plausibility contest with Donald Trump, right, and that he lied
- 16:18Speaker 1: so much about his own condition that he lost a
- 16:20Speaker 1: character argument to Donald Trump. That's the answer here we are.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well, speaking of Donald Trump, Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 1: They've really got it all together now. I will say
- 16:32Speaker 1: I am glad, even though it's belated, and even though
- 16:34Speaker 1: it's because Biden is disposable at this point, I do
- 16:38Speaker 1: appreciate that there will be more of a record of
- 16:41Speaker 1: what went down. I wish it was more in the
- 16:43Speaker 1: nitty gritty of who was running the White House and
- 16:44Speaker 1: who was running the country. And I hope we get
- 16:47Speaker 1: some of that as this process goes on, because unfortunately,
- 16:51Speaker 1: the way the situation works is the people who have
- 16:53Speaker 1: the access are the ones who get that story. And
- 16:55Speaker 1: we do need to know for history what was happening there,
- 16:59Speaker 1: and the American people need to know, don't forget that
- 17:00Speaker 1: it happened.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I think I'm waiting for a staffer book. The first
- 17:05Speaker 2: staffer book is going to be I think a big one,
- 17:08Speaker 2: just because somebody give us a banger. Yeah, somebody's got
- 17:12Speaker 2: to be willing to break that code of silence. They
- 17:15Speaker 2: might have trouble working in democratic politics again though, So.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I don't know. It's not like the Bidens are beloved
- 17:23Speaker 1: and Biden help these people out. No, he's got he's
- 17:26Speaker 1: got children to pay for.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Still, it's hard to see them telling the true story,
- 17:32Speaker 2: being honest, and still getting to hang around democratic politics.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So they have to be willing to take a leap.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Come on, staffers, do it, do it? Do it.
- 17:41Speaker 1: They don't have to pay for a Jake Sullivan book.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Well, we'll be right back on normally. Well, the President
- 17:51Speaker 2: continues his Middle East tour. I thought he gave a
- 17:55Speaker 2: really good speech in Saudi Arabia. I like that speech.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm hearing things that other people
- 18:01Speaker 2: aren't hearing, but I didn't hear an isolationist speech, and
- 18:04Speaker 2: I certainly didn't hear an anti Israel speech. Two things
- 18:07Speaker 2: that I saw mentioned a lot on X I heard
- 18:11Speaker 2: a president say that America will stand with their allies
- 18:15Speaker 2: and hopes to make new allies. I'm okay with all that.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very open to Donald Trump's philosophies in the
- 18:24Speaker 1: Middle East because last time around you got the Abraham Accords. Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 1: you moved you moved the embassy. What was the thing
- 18:32Speaker 1: we were always told you moved the embassy. It's World
- 18:35Speaker 1: War three, right, the embassy can't be in Jerusalem. It's
- 18:38Speaker 1: the end of the world. And he does it. It's
- 18:40Speaker 1: like me and then it's done. Yeah, And it's been
- 18:44Speaker 1: there ever since, and it should have been there from
- 18:46Speaker 1: the beginning. So when when he wants to think differently
- 18:49Speaker 1: about the Middle East, I am very open to that,
- 18:52Speaker 1: totally so. And when he talks to different people, I
- 18:55Speaker 1: think he you know, like we've talked about many times,
- 18:57Speaker 1: he loves to be loved and that is a that
- 18:59Speaker 1: is an issue particular with royalty. If I love to
- 19:02Speaker 1: be loved. And also someone brought a mobile McDonald's around
- 19:06Speaker 1: with me while I was on my trip in sign Ravain. Yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 1: I gotta say I might be wooed, right, I didn't.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I did enjoy that.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Like the things that hold out hold out for bol Jangles,
- 19:18Speaker 5: I mean McDonald's, Maren Katherine, Hey, you know, I have
- 19:21Speaker 5: a wide variety of food that I would enjoy.
- 19:26Speaker 1: So anyway, those are issues, but I do allow for
- 19:30Speaker 1: the idea that his weird thinking and outside the box
- 19:35Speaker 1: thinking way different than the diplomatic core in DC can
- 19:38Speaker 1: be beneficial to the United States of America. I love
- 19:41Speaker 1: that Dan Alexander is with his family. He's posting pictures
- 19:45Speaker 1: on social media, having beers in public places and loving. Yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 1: it's a sin that every American doesn't know his name.
- 19:54Speaker 1: It really is, like that's been a wild thing about
- 19:58Speaker 1: post October seventh. Yeah, Americans trapped by terrorists in a
- 20:03Speaker 1: foreign land that attacked our ally. We don't know their names.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Regular Americans don't know their names because it just didn't
- 20:10Speaker 1: warrant coverage.
- 20:12Speaker 2: It's really crazy, really unacceptable. Yeah. I like that he
- 20:16Speaker 2: was released without giving up any terrorists. My point of
- 20:20Speaker 2: criticism was in the first deal that Witcough helped negotiate,
- 20:25Speaker 2: I thought he should have been named number one America first,
- 20:28Speaker 2: guys America first, so the Americans should have been out first.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I think Wincoff makes me a little nervous. In general.
- 20:35Speaker 2: He does, He definitely does. I don't trust him necessarily,
- 20:40Speaker 2: but I like in general on this issue, I'm open.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I am willing to be wrong. I want to be wrong.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I want him to be this incredible negotiator who fixes
- 20:52Speaker 2: all this. Nobody wants peace more than Israel does, so
- 20:58Speaker 2: if that's where this is headed, I would love for
- 21:01Speaker 2: it to happen for them. You know, we talked about
- 21:04Speaker 2: it in the last episode. There was rumor that Edon
- 21:07Speaker 2: was going to go to Kutar and meet with Trump there.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That didn't happen, you know that. Yeah, I said that.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I didn't think that that was going to happen. People
- 21:17Speaker 2: commented they liked that. I pointed out that Israel has
- 21:21Speaker 2: a far left media just like we do, and you
- 21:24Speaker 2: have to take a lot of things that come out
- 21:25Speaker 2: of there with a large grain of salt. Another story
- 21:28Speaker 2: last week was that Trump was going to imminently recognize
- 21:32Speaker 2: the country of Palestine. That didn't happen. I mean, you
- 21:36Speaker 2: just we have to temper our news intake from there,
- 21:41Speaker 2: just like we do from here. I will tell you
- 21:44Speaker 2: the story that I most loved from the Middle East
- 21:48Speaker 2: of this trip is Trump flat out saying to Syria
- 21:51Speaker 2: recognize the existence of Israel. Like that's a very trumpy
- 21:55Speaker 2: Who else does that?
- 21:56Speaker 1: Who else?
- 21:57Speaker 2: Guys? I think you should recognize Israel, know what I mean?
- 22:02Speaker 1: It's it's wild.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very very chump.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a different he's a different creature in these ways.
- 22:10Speaker 1: But yeah, I think Trump is a real conundrum because
- 22:13Speaker 1: what he does is he talks all the time. He
- 22:16Speaker 1: never almost never leaves anything off the table. So if
- 22:21Speaker 1: you ask him about a possibility, it doesn't matter how
- 22:24Speaker 1: crazy the possibility is. And this is what the press
- 22:26Speaker 1: does sometimes, doesn't matter how crazy the possibility is or
- 22:30Speaker 1: how little he's going to engage in it, he just
- 22:32Speaker 1: doesn't want it off the table, right, And he's like, oh,
- 22:35Speaker 1: I wouldn't I wouldn't say one hundred percent, we wouldn't
- 22:37Speaker 1: do that. Like, if nuking the moon is an option,
- 22:41Speaker 1: I want it available to me right right.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Why would I take nuking the moon off the table?
- 22:46Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 22:47Speaker 1: So but as a result, you and I and the
- 22:50Speaker 1: press and people reading the press don't know which parts
- 22:53Speaker 1: to take seriously and which parts not. And then the press,
- 22:56Speaker 1: the binding itself up, makes it worse for everybody. So
- 22:59Speaker 1: we try our bat. I think you had some good,
- 23:01Speaker 1: good predictions the other day, and I'm glad to cant
- 23:03Speaker 1: that worked out that way.
- 23:05Speaker 2: We're going to take a short break and come right
- 23:07Speaker 2: back with normally, I think we should turn to the
- 23:12Speaker 2: most important issue of the day, our sheath dresses. Maga.
- 23:17Speaker 6: Yes.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I saw that, Heideline, and I was like, oh God,
- 23:21Speaker 2: The New York Times is just so good panting articles
- 23:24Speaker 2: for me and you to talk about on this show.
- 23:26Speaker 2: They're like, we heard this show normally likes to mock
- 23:29Speaker 2: this kind of thing. Let us give them some ammunition here.
- 23:34Speaker 1: So this is sweet. Miriam has written into The New
- 23:36Speaker 1: York Times for some advice, and she says my style
- 23:38Speaker 1: can be described as modern, minimalist meets classic. I own
- 23:41Speaker 1: several sheath dressed dresses that fit and flatter, but when
- 23:45Speaker 1: I put them on now, they echo what I see
- 23:47Speaker 1: as Maga style. How can I restyle them without sacrificing
- 23:51Speaker 1: my aesthetic. It's like girls just put on a dress
- 23:55Speaker 1: with like a leather jacket from us wear.
- 23:58Speaker 2: A sheath dress however you want to wear it, and
- 24:00Speaker 2: double middle fingers to anybody who doesn't like it. I
- 24:02Speaker 2: just like, I don't know. There's like, there's so much
- 24:06Speaker 2: of this that I just don't understand why people change
- 24:09Speaker 2: because of politics. You know, there's the anti Israel protesters
- 24:15Speaker 2: use the watermelon to signify that they hate Israel or whatever.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I'm not not putting my kids like in a watermelon
- 24:23Speaker 2: bathing suit because of that.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I don't care what you think.
- 24:26Speaker 2: It's my watermelon.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yeah, And I don't understand how they just give up
- 24:32Speaker 2: the sheath dress. I wouldn't be like, oh, well, liberals
- 24:34Speaker 2: wear sheath dresses, so I'm not gonna wear it, even
- 24:36Speaker 2: though it looks good on me.
- 24:38Speaker 1: A lot of li I wear a lot of lib clothing,
- 24:40Speaker 1: like I'm I can be very lib signally in my
- 24:43Speaker 1: giant jeans and T shirts. On the right of it
- 24:49Speaker 1: says there's a very specific look associated with women who
- 24:52Speaker 1: subscribe to the Trump worldview, one that is sort of
- 24:55Speaker 1: a cross between a Fox newscaster and Miss Universe, Thank
- 24:58Speaker 1: you very much. It generally involves flowing tresses, their at
- 25:03Speaker 1: least shoulder length. I hit that one. I guess, yes,
- 25:06Speaker 1: fairly false eyelashes, don't have those plumped up cheeks and lips,
- 25:11Speaker 1: high heels.
- 25:12Speaker 6: And as you say, a sheath dress, she says it
- 25:16Speaker 6: it speaks to an almost cartoonish femininity that speaks to
- 25:21Speaker 6: a relatively old fashioned gender stereo type.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Please you know.
- 25:25Speaker 2: And they put a picture of Lara Chump to illustrate it.
- 25:28Speaker 2: On She's unreal in that nuture.
- 25:31Speaker 1: She looks so good, that's the thing her. So she's
- 25:33Speaker 1: got her she's got her guns out, and they are
- 25:35Speaker 1: guns and they look fantastic. And by the way, that's
- 25:37Speaker 1: not that's not a traditionally cartoonishly feminine look right to
- 25:41Speaker 1: have biceps and delts sticking out of your sheath dress.
- 25:44Speaker 1: But I happen to like that look. She looks great,
- 25:47Speaker 1: go Lara, right, it's just so silly. And by the way,
- 25:50Speaker 1: if this were liberals, they would never talk about their
- 25:54Speaker 1: looks this way at all. Ever, there's a there's a
- 25:57Speaker 1: term that The New York Times says had maral Lago face,
- 26:01Speaker 1: which is like this way that they all look. But actually,
- 26:05Speaker 1: if you the ones that they list as as perpetrators
- 26:08Speaker 1: of this look, many of them look very different. Like Pandi,
- 26:12Speaker 1: Pambondi and Millennia look extremely different totally. Pam Bondi wears
- 26:15Speaker 1: a pants suit all the time. She doesn't wear she's dressed.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Right, she doesn't do the jacket dress that Milania pulls off.
- 26:23Speaker 2: So well, no, that's exactly right. They don't look alike.
- 26:26Speaker 2: They only look alike when you're a crazy person. Writing
- 26:29Speaker 2: for The New York Times, and the advice that they
- 26:32Speaker 2: give to this woman is keep your hair natural or messy,
- 26:35Speaker 2: makes your makeup minimal and your heels low. Lady, they're
- 26:39Speaker 2: trying to make you look ugly.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Like they also say, shy away from red, white and blue.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Look y'all, stop letting us take pretty and patriotic from you.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Not a good move, so obvious, but like they just
- 26:56Speaker 2: keep falling for it.
- 26:57Speaker 1: H Yeah, just like they did with We talked about
- 27:00Speaker 1: that lib streamer Hassan Piker, who they were like, this
- 27:03Speaker 1: guy's good looking. It signals maga. This is a cell phone.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Do not engage in this messaging. Have your sheaf dreath,
- 27:10Speaker 1: dress with your with your guns out, and look good.
- 27:13Speaker 1: If you're a little lady, go ahead and do it.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Do it.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Goodness gracious.
