- 0:59To get us officially started, Will has a recap of Week 3 of
- 1:04the NFL season. And so Will I will hand the time
- 1:06over to you all. Right, Week 3 we had 16 games.
- 1:10This is the well last week to start the season for a second
- 1:13last week to start the season, we have all 16.
- 1:15We're all 16 and week 4 and now again until like week 16 or 17,
- 1:21something like that. So so Thursday, the Bills are
- 1:23good, the Dolphins are bad, but maybe not as bad as we thought.
- 1:26Bengals, Vikings, maybe JJ McCarthy was the problem and I
- 1:29was right the whole time. You look at the Bengals side,
- 1:32backup quarterbacks clearly matter.
- 1:34Look at this game, we had two backups.
- 1:36Carson Wentz showed out and we have back-to-back AFC S
- 1:40matchups. Jaguars, Texans AFC S is bad
- 1:43even when they play themselves. This is the Jaguar extension was
- 1:46the first of two milk and toe scans of the week.
- 1:49Nobody cared about that one but a Colts Texan.
- 1:52So ASU self is bad except for the Colts.
- 1:55Daniel Jones seems to get the Saquon treatment.
- 1:58Leave the Giants is equal to being good at football.
- 2:00Raiders Commanders Super Mario can still sling the ball.
- 2:03Again, This is why backups matter.
- 2:05And maybe as a show, we were a bit too mean.
- 2:09Adibos Annual. All right, special teams matters
- 2:12again. The Raiders will be fine, but
- 2:14they do need a new offensive line.
- 2:16Eagles, Rams, Eagles stand defeated but barely.
- 2:19Rams were a good team to have other weapons.
- 2:20They just need to block a field goal.
- 2:22Well, excuse me, they need to learn how to block for a field
- 2:25goal, not block field goal that they probably have film on now.
- 2:28Falcons probably been over had to start the season and Phoenix
- 2:32probably this isn't that good. Welcome back Kirk Cousins to the
- 2:34league. Glad you're starting again.
- 2:36Had the Panthers fancy to feel good for a week, but please do
- 2:38not get used to it. Steelers, Patriots Aaron Rodgers
- 2:43still doing Aaron Rodgers things just enough to to win but not
- 2:46too much extra because again, he is 900 years old.
- 2:49We have Browns, Packers, the Browns continuously showing us
- 2:53why defense may not sell tickets but is always more important.
- 2:56Block field goals leading to a game where Wayne field goal.
- 3:00The Rams probably should have taken notes.
- 3:02Then we've got Buccaneers, Jets, Baker's a dog.
- 3:05The Jets team was better with Tyrod Taylor than they were with
- 3:08Justin Fields. Cannot say I'm surprised.
- 3:10Matter of fact, I started Garrett Wilson this week when I
- 3:12had not started him in the past. Again, third time backup
- 3:15quarterbacks matter and make a question that name this time.
- 3:20It's going to be an absolute All Star in this league.
- 3:22Broncos, Chargers, we keep waiting for the charge to fall
- 3:24out, but maybe not this year. But again, it's only Week 3.
- 3:27So, you know, crumble later and maybe we overestimated the
- 3:30charter at the Broncos to start the season.
- 3:32We underestimated the Chargers and overestimated the Broncos.
- 3:35The Saints. Nothing to say here except the
- 3:38Saints were so bad they had to actually go get Tyler Shuck.
- 3:41Morons. And later Seahawks had a big
- 3:43win. Defence dominated.
- 3:45Defence and special teams dominated that one.
- 3:47Cowboys seem to be almost as bad as the Saints now.
- 3:50We were there any injuries? Yeah, he's got injuries.
- 3:52Congrats to the Bears for the first time in Kayla Williams
- 3:55career at the Bears. It was his first time not being
- 3:58sacked so that's that's a moral victory.
- 4:00Good job offensive line. Carlos Niners hits milk toast.
- 4:04Game of the week. Nobody really cared about this
- 4:06game and nothing happened except for a questionable holding
- 4:09penalty in the end zone. CMC is still good so long as
- 4:12he's healthy. Chief Giants Russell Wilson
- 4:14decided he was done playing football and made sure to hand
- 4:17the reins off this game. Jackson Dodd, welcome to the
- 4:19league. I don't understand why inside
- 4:21the five yard line Russell wasn't throwing the ball 35
- 4:24yards but here we are. That's nothing new.
- 4:27At least this time it was to nobody instead of a different
- 4:29team and Ravens. Ravens, Lions, Monday Night
- 4:33Football. The Ravens may be the best one
- 4:35and two team we've ever seen. Derrick Henry has an absolute
- 4:38case of the yips and he's scared to hold on the football now.
- 4:40Lamar Jackson got sacked 7 times in that game and is still in a
- 4:43shot To win at the end you just have to play defense for four
- 4:46full quarters. That's 23.
- 4:51All right. That was pretty good.
- 4:53I liked it. It's pretty good.
- 4:54Thank you. Will you?
- 4:56Will you think you can do one of those for us every week?
- 4:58Every week. All 612, all games, every week.
- 5:04Cool. I like it.
- 5:05That was that was pretty good. All right, so just to give you
- 5:08guys a little rundown of the schedule.
- 5:10So what we have on the schedule for today is we are going to
- 5:13rank the remaining 3 and O teams to get started here.
- 5:17Then after that, we're going to talk about which of the skill
- 5:21position rookies from the first two rounds has been the most
- 5:24disappointing through the 1st 3 weeks.
- 5:26And then we are going to give you guys a little bit of an
- 5:29update on where we stand with our potential new favorite NFL
- 5:33teams. So to get us started, we're
- 5:36going to rank the three and O teams one through 6.
- 5:38There are 6, three and O teams remaining.
- 5:40You've got the Eagles, Bills, Chargers, Buccaneers, Colts and
- 5:4549ers. And so, Avery, why don't you get
- 5:48us started by ranking these teams one through 6 and just
- 5:51give us a little breakdown as to why you ranked them in that
- 5:54order. All right, I'll start with the
- 5:57top Buffalo Bills. I just, I don't see them.
- 6:01I mean, at least from the first three games, they just seem like
- 6:04the most dominant force out there as far as power rankings.
- 6:07Like I put them one for sure. Josh Allen's looking like a
- 6:10monster for number 2. I put the Colts.
- 6:14Just cuz I. Just cuz I don't think, but just
- 6:18cuz I don't believe that they're going to keep this up.
- 6:20They have they have showed out so far.
- 6:24I don't know what it is and that team is just clicking.
- 6:26So until someone can put a stop to it, I got to put them at two.
- 6:30I will put the chargers at three.
- 6:33I think they look good too, which is surprising because I've
- 6:36had Justin Herbert as my fantasy quarterback 2 separate times and
- 6:40every time it is a disappointment.
- 6:43I actually haven't even checked how his fantasy stats Yeah,
- 6:46every single one of those two times I haven't even checked his
- 6:51fantasy stats. So maybe it's just as
- 6:54underwhelming. But they have looked good and
- 6:56they have won some big games already.
- 6:58Yeah, the next team would be the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 7:02That Tosh push is ridiculous and but.
- 7:06I am. Still on the side.
- 7:08I am on the side and this might be addressed later.
- 7:12I'm on the side of figure it out for the defenses part of me it
- 7:17just look, it looks hard to officiate.
- 7:18It's it's tough. I I feel like I see a a false
- 7:21start on that play like half the time.
- 7:24There is. It happened.
- 7:25It happened again against the Rams.
- 7:27Yeah. And then also I, I just feel
- 7:29like the only way to really stop it is to target like you got to
- 7:34like just just. Torpedo your way.
- 7:36In there, that's basically what they're already doing.
- 7:39All of them are leading head first into the defensive line.
- 7:42So wait, wait. OK, tell me what you guys think
- 7:45about this. This, this just came to mind.
- 7:48And I feel like there's one player that that I can think of
- 7:50from NFL history that could stop this play and it is Troy
- 7:53Palamalu. That dude was the best I have
- 7:58ever seen at just timing the snap.
- 8:01Just somehow just he just knew when the ball was going to be
- 8:03snapped. He just jumps over the line and
- 8:06just wrecked people. I would like to come for the
- 8:07second player here, Warren Sapp, because you could not physically
- 8:13move him. That dude was so big and so
- 8:16strong. You just you couldn't move him
- 8:19anyway. Yeah.
- 8:20I'd like to nominate a third player.
- 8:22I'd like to nominate a third player.
- 8:24Lawrence Taylor, if he was in the game before that, the
- 8:26quarterback wouldn't be in the game.
- 8:27So you can just put him in earlier, avoid the whole
- 8:31situation. So I got the Eagles.
- 8:36They have been squeaking out games because of the tosh push.
- 8:40You can call that calculated, kind of like Virginia
- 8:42basketball, basketball reference.
- 8:43They played slow and methodical. Their points never went above
- 8:4650, but they won. And so it's one of those things
- 8:49where every game is close, but not really because they're just
- 8:51playing at an incredibly slow pace.
- 8:53But these guys, that's kind of how I feel, at least for the
- 8:56first three seasons. Next I got the Tampa Bay
- 8:58Buccaneers. I wanted to put them a little
- 9:00higher, but it part of their success looks a little bit like
- 9:06Scrappy Luck. And I say that respectfully,
- 9:09like they they haven't looked like necessarily dominant.
- 9:12They look like a bunch of really talented players that are trying
- 9:15really hard. And then I got to San Francisco
- 9:1749ers at the bottom of all the teams that I would want my
- 9:21favorite team to play. That would be the one of the
- 9:24three and those. Yeah, I just also, I don't like
- 9:27them. So you know, maybe bias, but the
- 9:31both can be true at the same time.
- 9:33That's funny you say that because that's actually my first
- 9:35note here for ranking the 49ers at six.
- 9:39It is because I don't like them, Yeah.
- 9:43By the way, we're all choosing the 49ers as our favorite team
- 9:47after spoiler. All right, so since Will's
- 9:52already spoken way too much this episode, I'm going to go ahead
- 9:54and give my, I'm going to go ahead and give my, my rankings
- 9:59of the three and O teams here. So to start off #1 I have the
- 10:02Philadelphia Eagles. And it's not necessarily because
- 10:04I think that they are the most talented.
- 10:06It's because I think that they are this year's regular season
- 10:09Chiefs and they're just going to scrape by magically every single
- 10:12game like the Chiefs did last year.
- 10:14Somehow they have already escaped all three games.
- 10:17Just because the universe said that they're going to win the
- 10:19games, it's not because they should have won the games.
- 10:22It's because the universe decided that they are going to
- 10:25win those games. And so they are this year's
- 10:27regular season Kansas City Chiefs.
- 10:29And for some, I, I don't know how long it's going to go on
- 10:32for, but so far through three weeks, that's what's happening.
- 10:35They shouldn't have won. They probably honestly should.
- 10:38At least two of those games. They should have lost.
- 10:40For sure they should have lost. If CD Lamb doesn't drop those
- 10:43balls, Dallas Cowboys probably win and just the fact that they
- 10:47were able to block 2 field goals is just absolutely wild and it
- 10:51should not have happened so. Saquon Saquon saying everyone in
- 10:57the world knows what we're doing and it doesn't effing matter.
- 11:01Like, yeah. That was cold because I see that
- 11:04again going into this, that Tosh push.
- 11:07You need to find a way to defend that go sink down to a lower
- 11:10level to get the Eagles to try to ban whatever you're doing to
- 11:15stop that. Like that's, that's what I want
- 11:17to see. It might, it might not happen,
- 11:20but I'd love to see it. Yeah, So anyways, that's why I
- 11:24have the Eagles at #1 at #2 I have the Buffalo Bills and the
- 11:29Bills. I don't necessarily think that
- 11:30the Bills are I, I don't want to say that they are the most
- 11:34talented all around team because I feel like there are some flaws
- 11:39on this team that other teams can take advantage of.
- 11:42You look at like the Baltimore Ravens when they played in week
- 11:44one, they put up 40 points. But the reason I have them at 2
- 11:47is because you have probably the best quarterback in the NFL
- 11:50right now. And when the best quarterback
- 11:53has been called upon to be the best quarterback, he has been
- 11:56the best quarterback and he has won you those games.
- 11:59Like against the Ravens. He is the reason that they won
- 12:02that game against the Dolphins. He is the reason that they were
- 12:05able to stay in that game and pull away at the end of that
- 12:08game because the Dolphins gave them a run for their money for
- 12:11most of that game. It was not an easy game for the
- 12:13Bills. Now against The Jets, they did
- 12:15not need Josh Allen to to be the best quarterback in the NFL.
- 12:19So his stats don't look great, but that's because they did not
- 12:22need him to be in the the other two games.
- 12:24They needed him to be the best quarterback in the NFL and
- 12:27that's exactly what he did. And when you have the best
- 12:29quarterback in the NFL, it makes up for all the other
- 12:32deficiencies that you have on your team.
- 12:35The number three team I have the Chargers and the main reason why
- 12:40is because they are a top five defensive team in terms of
- 12:43points allowed, which makes sense because they were the
- 12:46number one team in points allowed last year.
- 12:48So they are continuing their good defensive trend here.
- 12:51I really like what they're doing on offense with their receivers
- 12:54with Quentin Johnson, Keenan Allen and Ladd Mcconkey.
- 12:57Those three guys, it to me, it truly seems like they do not
- 13:01care who gets the ball as long as they are scoring and they're
- 13:05winning games. It does not feel like that they
- 13:07truly care if it's them getting the ball or if it's one of their
- 13:11other guys getting the ball. As long as they are doing well
- 13:14and they're winning those games, I don't foresee any drama or any
- 13:19diva action going on there between those three guys.
- 13:22I just think that they are a solid group of wide receivers
- 13:24and Justin Herbert is looking really good so far.
- 13:27The one thing with this team that I think could potentially
- 13:30hold them back is just the running game because they are
- 13:3424th and rushing yards per game right now and they're averaging
- 13:363.5 yards a carry. But outside of that, everything
- 13:39else that I've seen from the Chargers is looking really good
- 13:43#4 I have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also like Avery, I
- 13:47did want to put them higher, but I did my rankings based off of
- 13:50how these teams are right now. And so the the reason that I put
- 13:55the Bucks at four and not higher is because the Bucks have a ton
- 13:59of injuries on their team right now.
- 14:00They just lost Mike Evans for three to four weeks.
- 14:03They are going to get Chris Godwin back.
- 14:04I don't know if it's going to be this week, but soon he is coming
- 14:07back. So that should help.
- 14:08But you just lost Mike Evans for three to four weeks.
- 14:11Also, their offensive line is just being shuffled around in
- 14:15every possible way that it can go right now.
- 14:18They started the season without Tristan Wharfs, so they move
- 14:21their starting center to left tackle.
- 14:22So that leaves their backup center and then their backup
- 14:25left tackle, who was their center.
- 14:27And so they also lost their starting right guard.
- 14:30They lost their starting right tackle.
- 14:31Their right guard is out for the year.
- 14:33Their starting right tackle is on IR, so he's out for a few
- 14:35weeks, but that means that they have been playing with a backup
- 14:38left tackle, a backup center, a backup right guard and a backup
- 14:41right tackle for not for not for all the games, but for some of
- 14:44the games. And so they they are going to
- 14:47get Tristan worse back here hopefully this week against the
- 14:49eagles. So that allows them to have
- 14:51their starting left tackle and their starting center back.
- 14:54But still you have your starting right guard and right tackle out
- 14:57and they lost one of their defensive lineman for the season
- 15:00as well. So there's a ton of injuries
- 15:02there, but the fact that they have been able to win these
- 15:05games and come back at the end tells you that this team is
- 15:09never going to quit. They're always going to be in
- 15:11the game no matter what. And so I really, really like
- 15:15what I've seen from the book so far just from a, a standpoint of
- 15:18just, they are, they're never going to back down and they're
- 15:21never going to stop trying to win the game.
- 15:23The number 5 team I have, the Indianapolis Colts, they're
- 15:27putting up 34.3 points per game on average right now.
- 15:31They've only allowed two sacks. So Daniel Jones has only been
- 15:34sacked twice, which is crazy because you can see what he can
- 15:38do when he's not being sacked a billion times like he was when
- 15:41he was on the Giants. They lead the league in turnover
- 15:43differential with +5 right now and they are one of three teams
- 15:48who does not have a single turnover yet.
- 15:50The other two teams are the Bills and the Buccaneers.
- 15:53The reason I put them at 5 though is just because the
- 15:56quarterbacks for the other four teams that I put ahead of them
- 16:00are just better quarterbacks than Daniel Jones.
- 16:03And then number six, I have the 49ers.
- 16:05As I mentioned before, out of the remaining undefeated teams,
- 16:09this is the only team that has a negative turnover differential.
- 16:13They have a -1 turnover differential.
- 16:16They have the lowest points per game, which is 19.7, which is
- 16:1923rd in the league right now. The next lowest team of the
- 16:24undefeated teams is the Chargers, who are at 23.3 points
- 16:28per game, which is 15th in the league.
- 16:30They also are 27th in rushing yards per game, which is one of
- 16:33seven teams that is averaging below 90 rushing yards a game
- 16:37right now. And they just lost Nick Bosa for
- 16:40the year. So as good as their defense
- 16:41looks right now, statistically it's not going to be that good
- 16:44moving forward because Nick Bosa is no longer there, right?
- 16:47Will your turn. Take us home.
- 16:50I lost Internet about half or through what you said, so I have
- 16:54no idea what half your list was. He agreed with everything I
- 16:57said. You're a pause there for a
- 16:59second. So yeah, just just to recap,
- 17:02just to recap. So I have the Eagles one those
- 17:04two charges at 3, Buccaneers at 4, Colts at 5 and the 49ers at
- 17:08six. Cool, cool.
- 17:11We have a kind of similar list of books to you because there's
- 17:13only 6 people and so there's only so many options.
- 17:15I've got the Bills at one for all the reasons we've been said.
- 17:18Kind of like Aver said, the Bills even though they gave up
- 17:20forty points to the Ravens, the Ravens, as I mentioned earlier,
- 17:24are the best 21 and two team I've ever seen in my life.
- 17:26The Bills are good and keep being good.
- 17:29They are, especially with the Chiefs struggling early.
- 17:31They're on the fast track to the number one seed in the AFC.
- 17:34I'm sure the charters it too. Kind of like what Aver said,
- 17:37they have won tough games and and they've played tough
- 17:40opponents. Never just played nobody.
- 17:42I've got the Bucks at 3 actually, for a lot of the
- 17:46reasons why you have them original is actually why I have
- 17:48them higher. They're missing a bunch of
- 17:50people and they're still managing to win games.
- 17:53They're still putting together a full team game and they're still
- 17:57able to pull out a win #4 wait, can.
- 18:00I just say something about real quick.
- 18:02Yes. So the, the only reason why I
- 18:05put them lower is because they're playing the Eagles this
- 18:07week. And I feel like with all the,
- 18:09the replacements that they have on the offensive line, that
- 18:11could get them into trouble against a team like the Eagles.
- 18:15And so that's the, that's pretty much the reason why.
- 18:17Like, I love that they're, they've been over, they've been
- 18:20able to overcome all of that stuff.
- 18:22But I feel like against a team like the Eagles, that could get
- 18:25them into trouble because you look at the teams that they've
- 18:27played so far, they're all teams with losing records.
- 18:30And so the Eagles are on a different level.
- 18:32So I feel like that could get them into a little bit of
- 18:35trouble in that game, if that makes sense.
- 18:38I agree. All right, I see what you mean,
- 18:40but we'll see here #4 XD Of the Colts because, and these are all
- 18:45undefeated teams, but the Colts have won and looked good doing
- 18:49it. They sure have.
- 18:51Let's just I had the Colts schedule pulled up here a second
- 18:53ago. They've beat maybe the Dolphins
- 18:57Week 1, which Dolphins? Maybe they're always bad.
- 19:01Then they beat Denver and then they just Molly walked the
- 19:04Titans. The Titans are nothing to write
- 19:06home about yet, but they they've won convincingly and
- 19:11conventionally by one point against the Broncos.
- 19:13But still not one person preseason.
- 19:16Not one person or that is a football fan who wouldn't have
- 19:20picked 2 Colts to beat the Broncos in Week 2.
- 19:23No one. Like if you say, oh, I would
- 19:25have this because either you're a Colts Homer or you're a
- 19:27Broncos hater who's. A troll.
- 19:30Or an absolute troll, right? Those are the only people, and
- 19:33yet here they are at that's really known.
- 19:36Like I mentioned Saquon, it didn't happen to Saquon left.
- 19:39The Giants ran for 2000 yards. Now Daniel Jones leaves the
- 19:43Giants and he apparently knows how to play football now.
- 19:46And so I, I fight with the Colts are doing #5 I have the Eagles
- 19:49because they have again won all their games since these were all
- 19:51in defeated teams. But the Eagles have looked ugly
- 19:54doing it if it weren't for Jalen Cart.
- 19:56So let's back all the way to Week 1.
- 19:58Jalen Carter doesn't get ejected from that first game before the
- 20:02before the 1st actual snap, the Eagles beat Dallas by a million.
- 20:06Dallas is offensive line can't do anything, but yet when one of
- 20:09the best interior defensive lineman in the league, in
- 20:11lineman in the league is out, your offensive line up a lot
- 20:14better. And then Jaylen Carter last two
- 20:16games is one of the main reasons they've been able to win.
- 20:20He's able to get in there and create pressure.
- 20:22He was doing to Matt Stafford the entire game.
- 20:25He's quarterbacks off kilter and all of a sudden they're not near
- 20:28as good. Now, fortunately for the Rams,
- 20:30Matt Stafford, an absolute professional Super Bowl champion
- 20:33and he knows how to handle that. But Jaylen Carter is a big
- 20:36difference maker, but he is a key factor as to why they are
- 20:39undefeated. That offense, the Eagles offense
- 20:42has been very lackluster and very unimpressive and it is all
- 20:47defense there and it's mostly defensive line allowing the
- 20:50secondary to do something. And lastly I have the 49ers
- 20:54because the 49ers have played no one and barely won.
- 20:58The best team they've played so far is the Cardinals and they
- 21:01beat them by one point and the most boring game.
- 21:04Now they did beat the Seahawks by 4, but that was when you
- 21:08still had Brock Purdy and nobody knew what the Seahawks were
- 21:10going to do. Then you beat the Saints by 5.
- 21:13So it's one score game against the Saints, which is
- 21:15embarrassing by itself. And you beat the Cardinals by 1.
- 21:19So where what are we? What are we doing here?
- 21:23Matt Jones, he is not. I mean, he couldn't start in New
- 21:26England and now he's here in San Francisco.
- 21:28We couldn't start there either. But like I said three times,
- 21:30ready backup quarterbacks matter.
- 21:32So that Matt Jones is still doing this thing.
- 21:35He can still play football. But you don't have George
- 21:37Kittle. You don't have half your team
- 21:39anymore. Well, we are all just waiting
- 21:41for Christian McCaffrey to hurt again since you're having to rag
- 21:44his back so much. And that defense is not the same
- 21:47defense it's been in recent years.
- 21:48So for an hour. So he, like Avery said.
- 21:51They are the team that I would want my favorite team to go up
- 21:53against if they had to go up against an undefeated team.
- 21:58For sure. So before we move on to the next
- 22:01segment here, I just thought of a question and this is about the
- 22:04Colts. So we all know that Anthony
- 22:07Richardson and Daniel Jones were competing for the starting
- 22:10quarterback position, right? And then Daniel Jones eventually
- 22:14ended up taking that job. The fact that Anthony Richardson
- 22:17was even in consideration for the starting role, does that
- 22:21mean that he was at one point playing well in training camp?
- 22:26Because the way that we're seeing Daniel Jones playing
- 22:29right now, he's playing very well.
- 22:30And I feel like if he played like that in training camp,
- 22:33there would have been no question that it was Daniel
- 22:35Jones. I have I have a thought on it.
- 22:38I think that is. Anthony Richardson not hurt
- 22:42currently. I mean, he's all, isn't he?
- 22:44Isn't he always hurt? OK, anyway, sorry but you go.
- 22:47I I just felt like they probably got Jones on a discount because
- 22:52he came out of New York and no one had seen what he can really
- 22:55do. He played at Duke before that
- 22:57barf. So when they get him and then
- 23:00Anthony Richardson's in contention, I mean, you have to
- 23:03go back to when, you know, 3 weeks ago, our view on Daniel
- 23:07Jones. I just feel like, I guess 4
- 23:10weeks ago, but I think if anything, it's, it's less so
- 23:14him, Anthony Richardson not looking as good as it is now.
- 23:20Looking back at Anthony Richardson like, oh geez, like
- 23:23we had the tools here this whole time.
- 23:26We just needed a, a better quarterback.
- 23:28I think if anything, it's an indictment on Richardson, just
- 23:32like, oh, so we just needed a new quarterback here.
- 23:35Unless, unless there's something that happened where they just
- 23:37switched out the line, all the pieces, couches and everything,
- 23:41and just turn the ship around. It's just a bad look.
- 23:44Like, I don't know if he's going to really get much of a shot
- 23:46anywhere else. Anthony Richardson dislocated,
- 23:50fractured, hurts brain, who knows but his throwing his right
- 23:54pinky, his throwing hand pinky in pre season so doesn't really
- 23:59matter, doesn't really affect anything now that we're in
- 24:01September. I wonder if they had if the if
- 24:06in the offseason they already knew Daniel Jones was going to
- 24:09be the starter but to get maximum effort out of their
- 24:13players. They were publicly saying it's a
- 24:15quarterback battle. That way they both would try.
- 24:18Not that they weren't going to try hard, but that they both
- 24:20will put in maximum effort all offseason to make the whole
- 24:23entire team better. Because I can imagine at year 15
- 24:28or whatever, Matt Stafford's in his offseason maybe is a bit
- 24:32lighter than say an Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones type
- 24:35who's trying to still keep their job.
- 24:37We all know Matt Stafford's going to be the quarterback at
- 24:39the Rams or say Aaron Rodgers at the Steelers.
- 24:42When he finally signed on. He didn't sign on until, I mean,
- 24:46it was late in the offseason when he signed on.
- 24:48And so these guys who have been around for a long time don't
- 24:52possibly I'm not seeing enough professionals with it, but
- 24:55they're they're offseason efforts probably are not as high
- 25:00as some of these younger guys who still need to be proven as
- 25:06to where they're at. And also Andy Richardson, this
- 25:08is his second year, if I'm not mistaken, right?
- 25:11Or is this third? This is his third year.
- 25:13I believe third. So the one that you don't want
- 25:15to do with these young quarterbacks is destroy their
- 25:18confidence. And he was their starter for the
- 25:20last two years. And so you pick up this guy and
- 25:23free agency, who then you couldn't even make it at the
- 25:27giants. The last thing I do to your
- 25:29starting quarterback is go, all right, well, we're going to go
- 25:32with this guy that we got was it for a for a bucket of wraps.
- 25:36And so I, I think they're all trying to play into it is it's
- 25:39all the the politicking that goes on for your players
- 25:43standpoint of of Oh no, we're all good.
- 25:46So. Yeah, I agree.
- 25:49I, I just had had this thought like I, I think that they really
- 25:52did try to make Anthony Richardson the starter.
- 25:55Like they gave him all the opportunities to do so because
- 25:58it, when you pick somebody number four of all, you want
- 26:01them to be your starter, right? It just it just came to mind
- 26:04like what if Anthony Jones or what if Anthony Jones?
- 26:08What am I talking about? What if Yeah.
- 26:11That's right. What if, What if Anthony
- 26:13Richardson was actually playing really well, but then he just
- 26:16got hurt? And that's the reason why Daniel
- 26:19Jones became the starter. Like was, was Anthony Richardson
- 26:23actually playing really well and that's why it was an actual
- 26:26quarterback competition? Or did they just want to give
- 26:29Anthony Richardson the opportunity because they picked
- 26:31him at #4 overall. So yeah, we'll move on to our
- 26:34next segment here. So we're going to talk about
- 26:36which rookie drafted in the 2025 draft.
- 26:40What has been the most disappointing?
- 26:42So this is going to be just rookies that were drafted in the
- 26:45first and second round and just skill position players.
- 26:48So will you can get us started on this one.
- 26:52So which rookie that was drafted in the first two rounds has been
- 26:56the most disappointing in the first three weeks of the season?
- 26:59I'm going to go with the guy. We've barely seen it all.
- 27:02He's only thrown two whole passes and that is Tyler Shuck
- 27:06talked about him a couple times today.
- 27:08He picked 40 overall, right? Yeah, Round 2 early in round two
- 27:13picked up a 40. You've heard us say it on the
- 27:15show so many times, you're probably tired of it.
- 27:18This guy couldn't even start at Oregon, had to transfer around
- 27:20with the Texas Tech, went to Louisville, finally had half a
- 27:23good season, gets in the NFL and a second round pick.
- 27:27And and let me let me switch gears here.
- 27:29Let me talk about Spencer Rattler, the current starter at
- 27:33New Orleans at this for the Saints.
- 27:36He's O and 9 as a starter dating back to last season.
- 27:41O and 9:00. Last year he started six games,
- 27:44went O and six in those games. He has a 57% complete percentage
- 27:49last year through for just over 1000 yards or just over 1300
- 27:53yards, 4 touchdowns, 5 interceptions and six games.
- 27:57So this is very, I mean bad. I don't even know what else to
- 28:03call it. It's bad.
- 28:04And then to start this season, he goes O for three.
- 28:08He's still in the same touchdowns this year.
- 28:11In the six games last year, he's thrown for four touchdowns and
- 28:14only one interception. So it is it is getting better.
- 28:17He's at a 67% of places, which is again better.
- 28:20We are improving from year to year, but not in the win column.
- 28:23But yet you are a high draft pick and yet you can't start
- 28:26over This guy who it's not like he's been around for a long
- 28:29time. He's only this is this is
- 28:31Rattler's second year in the league.
- 28:33So we're not, we're not. He's not some some perpetual
- 28:37starter fifth round pick, which again, not that fifth round
- 28:40picks can't be good. But when Tyler Shark did come
- 28:43in, he had two opportunities to throw a pass.
- 28:45Didn't completely serve him. Didn't look good to me either.
- 28:48He is as under per whelming and underperforming as we expected.
- 28:53I expected. I truly I think most of us
- 28:55expect him to start to start starting a year like him over
- 28:59Spencer rather in week one. That didn't happen and maybe
- 29:03it's for his benefit to sit him for a while before he comes in,
- 29:06but I think it's it is at this point a bit of a waste of a pick
- 29:10at pick 3 when you don't have a pick 10s, you excuse me, pick
- 29:1540, take three, take pick 40 to to pick a guy when you don't
- 29:22have a clear starter to pick a guy and then sit him when your
- 29:26starter can't win games either. Now Jackson Dollar was picked to
- 29:30pick #10 correct? No, he was selected in the 20s.
- 29:34OK either way, first round pick before Chuck Giants picked him
- 29:39early in the first round, but they have a clear starter and so
- 29:42they didn't need to start him. But they're drafting for the
- 29:45future, which is not what the Saints were doing.
- 29:47They didn't take the guy in the first round for for their
- 29:49starting quarterback. They waited in the second round
- 29:52that got their guy and he is just disappointing.
- 29:55I don't think we're going to see anything exciting other than his
- 29:59whole career. Not just a murder guy early, but
- 30:01I don't think we'll ever see anything exciting.
- 30:03Tyler Schuck. I I agree.
- 30:09All right, Avery, your turn. Which rookie drafted in the
- 30:12first two rounds has been the most disappointing in the first
- 30:15three weeks. I've been looking through these
- 30:18and like I've, I guess we've kind of discussed this briefly,
- 30:23but I was kind of looking at expectation versus production,
- 30:27just so you know. So if a guy's not playing, it's
- 30:29like I obviously don't expect him to play.
- 30:32However, I kind of have two names on here for kind of
- 30:35different reasons. The 1st is Cam Ward.
- 30:39I just feel like look, you are the 1st overall pick.
- 30:43You haven't done Orley haven't been throwing pics everywhere
- 30:46and I think he's thrown a pic. But at the same time, it's like,
- 30:50OK, I mean, first overall quarterback, you're starting on
- 30:54this team, you're starting O and three everyone else.
- 30:57I mean, unless you're looking at quarterbacks, which I would even
- 31:00say, I mean, even with shock, it's like, I mean, you weren't
- 31:03even handed the keys. You know, it's like if you were
- 31:05handed the keys and and you mess up, that's one thing and that's
- 31:08what's happening with with Cam Ward.
- 31:10And so I was like, look, your own 3.
- 31:11Granted, you didn't inherit the best thing.
- 31:13So I'm not going to, you know, this is kind of a multi year
- 31:16build right now. But besides that, I want to
- 31:21throw out a little shade onto the LA Rams.
- 31:25They did not have a. Terrence Ferguson.
- 31:28Terrence Ferguson, Their. First, he's one of the guys I
- 31:30listed too. He is a fourth string tight end.
- 31:37Warren came in starting. I feel like most tight ends, if
- 31:40you get drafted that high top 2 rounds, you're starting because
- 31:43your team needs a tight end and it's easy enough.
- 31:45You're a big guy, you know how to catch.
- 31:47We're not expecting you to do anything crazy.
- 31:49You just need to go out there and produce.
- 31:51And I was looking and like where are his stats?
- 31:53And I'm like, oh is he a backup? Like he hasn't played at all.
- 31:57And look, he's fourth string. How many teams have 4 tight ends
- 32:01on their roster? Nuts, nuts.
- 32:03So I see that less about him. I'm like, dude, you, you are
- 32:06buried. Like I don't even know if other
- 32:09teams are going to know you're still there.
- 32:11They're going to be like, Oh yeah, who do the Rams have at
- 32:13tight end? This guy, this guy, this guy.
- 32:15I'm not going to look any further because why would I look
- 32:17at a fourth string tight end? I'm like, this was the best you
- 32:20could do for your first pick. Bury a man on the bench at a
- 32:25arguably inconsequential position like this isn't a left
- 32:29tackle, this isn't a quarterback, this isn't your
- 32:31running back, this isn't a a a defensive end.
- 32:34This is this is a tight end. Anyway, I I feel bad for the man
- 32:38who played in Oregon did great and we will never see how he
- 32:41does. Yeah, I I thought that was
- 32:46interesting too, because I was trying to find his stats and and
- 32:49now he doesn't have one single catch, he doesn't have one
- 32:52single target. He wasn't even active for the
- 32:54week 3 game. So you've got Sean McVay out
- 32:59here saying like, and I looked this up to see like kind of what
- 33:02was going on. And Sean McVay is like, you
- 33:04know, it's just like a, you know, situational thing and he's
- 33:08going to be a great player for the Rams And you know, it, It's
- 33:10just he kind of has to say that stuff.
- 33:12But like there's got to be a a bigger reason as to why he's not
- 33:16playing right. Otherwise you, you don't draft a
- 33:18guy in the second round and then just not playing.
- 33:22Like there's got to be something going on, like he's either just
- 33:25bad or there's, I don't know, But you don't draft a guy in the
- 33:29second round with your first pick of the draft and then just
- 33:33not play him. Fourth string, first pick.
- 33:38That should never happen anywhere.
- 33:40Show me any other position where that sounds better.
- 33:43We drafted 1/4 a fourth string. I mean, that's basically chador
- 33:47or like, why on earth would you draft?
- 33:50And if you've got this many quarterbacks and this is a tight
- 33:51end, dude, you could put a line minute tight end, you could put
- 33:54a receiver at tight end. Anyway, all right, cool.
- 34:00Well for my biggest disappointment from the first
- 34:04two rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, I have Colston Loveland
- 34:09who was drafted at 10th overall by the Chicago Bears.
- 34:12And the reason why I picked him is not even necessarily because
- 34:15of his play. I mean it does kind of have to
- 34:17do with that. But the reason is, is because
- 34:19you have Tyler Warren who is taking 4 picks later, who it
- 34:23started off his NFL career looking really, really good.
- 34:27And here you have Colston Loveland who was drafted before
- 34:29Tyler Warren when everybody already questioned when the
- 34:32Bears drafted Loveland. Like what are you guys doing?
- 34:36Tyler Warren's on the board, Why are you guys taking Colston
- 34:39Loveland? And so throughout their entire
- 34:42careers, Colston Loveland will be compared to Tyler Warren and
- 34:46Tyler Warren will be compared to Colston Loveland.
- 34:49And so far through three weeks, Tyler Warren looks like an all
- 34:52pro, potentially tight end and Colson Loveland looks like a
- 34:58backup tight end, which is exactly what he is right now.
- 35:00And when you take a tight end or any player at 10 overall, you
- 35:04don't want them to be your backup.
- 35:07You want them to be the guy who is going to go out every single
- 35:10week and produce for your team every single week.
- 35:13In the first game, he played 57% of the snaps and it has declined
- 35:16every single week since then, while you have Coco Met, who has
- 35:20played at least 90% of the snaps every single week for the Bears.
- 35:24And so right now, picking close and Loveland at 10th overall
- 35:28does not look like a good move for the Bears at all.
- 35:30And I know it's only Week 3, so maybe I'm overreacting.
- 35:34Maybe, you know, maybe with time, Colston Loveland will get
- 35:36better and maybe he'll get to that point.
- 35:38But just the way things sit right now, everybody knows that
- 35:42Tyler Warren was the better pick between the two guys.
- 35:45And that's how it will be like. They will be compared to each
- 35:48other throughout their entire careers.
- 35:52Or Colston. And with that, if you were going
- 35:55to start him, look at who came after him.
- 35:59You've got Michael Williams, Tyler Booker and Kenneth Grant,
- 36:03edge rusher, guard and defensive tackle.
- 36:05It's not like every team couldn't use more of those.
- 36:09Not every team needs more tight ends.
- 36:12Hi. I just feel like that Usha Mark
- 36:15Stewart was still available, that there were just, there were
- 36:20just definite starters still on the board and and maybe their
- 36:24guy got picked. Maybe they wanted Kelvin Banks
- 36:27that the Saints ended up with. Maybe I wanted Tet and just
- 36:29didn't know what to do and say, well, I guess we'll just pick
- 36:32this guy. He's tall.
- 36:33But yeah, I. Really hope that's not the case.
- 36:37It's the Bears, truly. Who knows?
- 36:41All right, well, yeah, there's been a few disappointing rookies
- 36:44that have been drafted in the first two rounds.
- 36:46There's a few other guys I had on my list.
- 36:47But just for the sake of time here, I want to make sure that
- 36:50we get in our top five potential new teams for you guys so you
- 36:55guys can guess who you guys think we are going to pick as
- 36:58our new favorite team. So we're going to, what we're
- 37:01going to do is we're going to list our top five potential new
- 37:06favorite teams. And I think we all, we all rank
- 37:10them in alphabetical order. Is that correct?
- 37:13Yes. OK.
- 37:15Do you guys need to wait just alphabetical?
- 37:17Alphabetical by by second name, not not.
- 37:21Just few alphabetical as long as it's alphabetical.
- 37:26OK. So yeah, what we're going to do
- 37:27is we're going to rank them one through 5, but it's
- 37:29alphabetical. So you guys don't know what the
- 37:32actual order is. And we're going to give you guys
- 37:35a, a reason or two for every team as to why they're in our
- 37:38top five. So you guys can guess on social
- 37:41media which team you guys think we are going to pick.
- 37:45So I I think I'm pretty close to picking my new team.
- 37:49I think Will's pretty close. I don't know how close Avery is,
- 37:52but we all have at least a top five.
- 37:54So Avery, why don't you get us started?
- 37:57Let us know what. I got to go last.
- 37:59I got to go last. I've been doing first this time.
- 38:02Well, you never go. OK, start us off.
- 38:05OK, I will go first. So by the way.
- 38:07By the way, none of us know what team there is.
- 38:12I have a feeling I know Jules. I don't know.
- 38:16I know. OK, go ahead.
- 38:19Yeah, hold on. Before you start again, that is
- 38:22a good point to perhaps we've talked with some core, but this
- 38:24is not an an open three-way discussion between the three of
- 38:28us. We're we're making this decision
- 38:30on our own and at the end of the day, the three of us are going
- 38:33to be surprised with who the other people pick.
- 38:35So. So this is not the SO.
- 38:38We only discussed this with each other on here, we're not on the
- 38:42phone after the stream or anything like this, is it?
- 38:46I find out what you guys are looking at and who your top
- 38:49teams are all like live. Yeah, this is real.
- 38:54This is real life stuff. All right, Joe, this is.
- 38:57Important. All right, All right, so for my
- 38:59top five potential new teams in alphabetical order, I have the
- 39:04Buffalo Bills and this is really the only team that I feel like I
- 39:09could be considered a bandwagon fan with out of the five.
- 39:12And so like that's that's really like the only one that I feel
- 39:16like could potentially be a bandwagon fan.
- 39:17But the reason I have them as one of my potential new favorite
- 39:21teams is because since the new ownership took over in 2014, I
- 39:26shouldn't say new ownership, But since ownership took over in
- 39:292014, they've done a really nice job of building this team into
- 39:33what it is now. And that is really important to
- 39:35me as as a fan of an NFL team, because I'm coming from the
- 39:39Dallas Cowboys, where Jerry Jones does not care one bit
- 39:42about building the team. He cares about making money and
- 39:46that's all he cares about. And so to me, when I see the
- 39:49Buffalo Bills and what they have done, what current ownership has
- 39:52done since 2014 to build this team into what it is now, that
- 39:56goes a long way with me because that's, that's what I want in a
- 40:00team. I want a team that is actually
- 40:02actively trying to win and actively trying to win a Super
- 40:05Bowl. So that's why I have the Buffalo
- 40:07Bills #2 I have the Denver Broncos.
- 40:10Now, the reason for the Broncos is because throughout my my NFL
- 40:15fandom, I feel like several times I have seen several
- 40:19different. Broncos defenses, be very good
- 40:23defenses. Now, it doesn't look like
- 40:24they're super great so far this year, but just remember that
- 40:27they started off at 1:00 and 2:00 last year as well.
- 40:31And so there's still a lot of time left in the season for them
- 40:33to get back to being that dominant defense.
- 40:35But one thing that I like in a team is trying to actively build
- 40:40a really good defense because again, the Dallas Cowboys, my
- 40:44former team, have truly never had a dominant defense since I
- 40:49have been a fan of them. And so that is a factor that I
- 40:52am considering because I want to have a team where I trust the
- 40:56defense instead of going, oh, well, you know, we're, we're
- 40:59playing the the Buffalo Bills. They're going to score 50 points
- 41:02on us. Like there's not even a chance
- 41:04that we can win this game. So that's why I have the Broncos
- 41:08#3 I have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 41:11And the reason for this is because ownership of this
- 41:14organization has shown that they believe in their players and
- 41:18they believe in the guys that they bring in.
- 41:20It seems to me that the players that play for the Buccaneers
- 41:24actually want to play for the Buccaneers and they enjoy
- 41:28playing for the Buccaneers. That is something that that the,
- 41:33the I've never felt that way about the Dallas Cowboys.
- 41:37I truly believe that none of the players who play for the Dallas
- 41:41Cowboys actually want to play there.
- 41:43I just believe that they only play there because Jerry Jones
- 41:47pays them money to play there. I don't feel like CD Lamb wants
- 41:51to play there. I don't feel like Dak Prescott
- 41:53really wants to play there. I don't feel like any of the
- 41:55Dallas Cowboys actually want to play for Jerry Jones and the
- 41:58Dallas Cowboys. But with the Buccaneers, I look
- 42:01at them and I see players like Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans
- 42:05and Emeka Ibuka, even though he's only a rookie, I see these
- 42:08guys look like they actually like this organization and they
- 42:12actually want to play for this organization.
- 42:14And so that's why I have the Buccaneers as one of my
- 42:16potential new teams #4 I have the Atlanta Falcons.
- 42:21The the Falcons are a aside from what we saw against the
- 42:25Panthers. I believe that they are an up
- 42:28and coming team. Now clearly there's still a lot
- 42:31of work that they have to do, but I believe that they are an
- 42:33up and coming team. I like some of the young pieces
- 42:36that they have on this team. And that was one of the factors
- 42:38that I looked at too, because I don't want to be considered a
- 42:41bandwagon fan and I don't feel like if I join the Falcons that
- 42:44I would be considered that at all.
- 42:46And so just a bonus here, I think that's, you know, the an
- 42:50important factor for me too is their colors and their main
- 42:53color is red. My son's favorite color is red.
- 42:56And he also picked their logo as one of the logos that he liked.
- 42:59And so that's why I have the Atlanta Falcons and my finalists
- 43:03solid. Taste.
- 43:04It's a great logo. Your son knows what's up.
- 43:08All right. And then that number 5.
- 43:10Wait, especially when you compare it to their 90s logo.
- 43:13Have you seen that abomination that?
- 43:18Is. That dude, that is something
- 43:21that I would send in to like a client just to rage bait them.
- 43:26It's just this chalk drawing of a.
- 43:28Bird. Dude, they put that on
- 43:32everything. Oh my gosh, I I would love, I
- 43:36would love to know when they announced the new logo how many
- 43:38people were like the original is classic.
- 43:42You just got the best logo coming from the worst.
- 43:45Let's shut your mouth anyway. All right, so #5 I have the Los
- 43:51Angeles Rams and I like the way that the organization is being
- 43:56run. Similar to some of these other
- 43:57teams that I've already mentioned.
- 43:58I like the way that the organization is being run.
- 44:01I feel like the Rams have actively made moves to try and
- 44:04compete and win the Super Bowl, and that's really a big factor
- 44:08for me in trying to pick a a new team to root for.
- 44:12Another bonus reason for them is they are the closest team to me
- 44:15besides the Raiders. The Raiders are actually closer
- 44:17than the Rams are to me. But as Avery mentioned last
- 44:20week, how can we trust Mark Davis to build a good team when
- 44:24he can't even have a good haircut, right?
- 44:26And so the Raiders are out and the Rams are, I'm considering
- 44:30them the closest team to me because of the Raiders are just
- 44:32out for me. So those are my top five in
- 44:34alphabetical order, the Bills, Broncos, Buccaneers, Falcons and
- 44:38Rams. Dice.
- 44:41All right, Will, OK, what you got for us.
- 44:45Well, if you don't know by now, then you've never seen it as a
- 44:50single episode. Joe Labour and I have known each
- 44:52other for 25 years. Right?
- 44:56That Master Check out seven we're coming to now. 2nd grade.
- 45:00So 25 years. So there's going to be some
- 45:03overlap here because we have similar interests but odd enough
- 45:06for different reasons. So this decision is going to
- 45:11affect me and my wife and my emotional status and my children
- 45:16because this is my children are going to be raised watching and
- 45:19liking and when they go to school just like I was.
- 45:23I was the the regular Cowboys fan around school and everyone
- 45:27hates the Cowboys, OK. And so this matters to me.
- 45:30This is something that I care about.
- 45:32So over Labor Day, my wife had a yard sale and we went through
- 45:35all 32 teams and we ranked mascot ferocity.
- 45:39We ranked color scheme. We ranked logo appeal, We ranked
- 45:42fanbase. Sorry, Eagles, you got last on
- 45:451st snowballs and Santa Claus. All right, we went to our beer
- 45:47cans and hospital kids. That's all that matters.
- 45:50You have a jail in your in your stadium.
- 45:53You're the worst. So we ranked all this stuff.
- 45:56We've kind of narrowed it down to a top five.
- 45:58Again, this is alphabetical order.
- 46:00We are starting with the Buffalo Bills now.
- 46:04Not a very ferocious mascot, but the team is good and that
- 46:08matters. I like that they're in the
- 46:10middle of their run and I think they're at the end of their run.
- 46:12They're easy to be a fan of. They're very likeable and their
- 46:16fans are absolutely insane. And I like that.
- 46:18I like, I like a good insane fan.
- 46:21I would feel like a bit of a poser calling myself a part of
- 46:24Bill's Mafia, at least for the first couple years, but
- 46:27eventually I feel like I can fit in there.
- 46:29Number two, I've got the Broncos because they're a semi local
- 46:33team. Another factor that played in
- 46:35here is, is the stadium reasonably visible?
- 46:40Can I go to a game if I so choose?
- 46:43Both the Bills and the Broncos are getting new stadiums right
- 46:47now. The Bills starting a new stadium
- 46:49next year. That is a big high mark for me
- 46:51personally because that means ownership cares and you're using
- 46:55tax dollars. So might as well, right?
- 46:57If we're going to spend them, we might as well use them.
- 47:01And so and so the Bills are, Bills are in a new stadium next
- 47:04year. Broncos are in a new stadium a
- 47:05couple years. I don't know when they're going
- 47:06to be done, but the Broncos from from Oregon to Denver, that is
- 47:11not that far. Very attainable, very easy to go
- 47:14to a game overall next does not fit in here.
- 47:18This is not a destination city. But again, it falls back with
- 47:21the Bills. I have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 47:23They're a very likable team. One of my most exciting moments
- 47:29as a fan pretty much ever was the very end of last season when
- 47:34the Buccaneers were doing everything they could to force
- 47:36feed Mike Evans the football to get into his 1000 yard season to
- 47:39keep that record going. That was so exciting as a foot
- 47:44stand of football to watch. I don't know if I've ever felt
- 47:48an emotional high with the Cowboys.
- 47:51I have felt that low when Tony Romo fumble the ball against the
- 47:54Seahawks when they should have made that field goal.
- 47:57I guess I'm not over it yet, but still.
- 48:00When when Dez caught it. When Dez caught it yet lot of
- 48:03lows, but that's part of being a fan of a team.
- 48:06But but the Buccaneers are easily likable team again.
- 48:09I feel like they're in in the middle of it.
- 48:12They're going to have some pieces changing out.
- 48:13We don't know how long Mike Evans has left us with his new
- 48:16injury, but he's in nearing the end of his career.
- 48:18But they've already got new pieces coming in.
- 48:20And that pirate ship in their stadium is so cool.
- 48:23And my son likes pirates. OK, That's just, they're easily,
- 48:27they're easily viewable by children.
- 48:29And my kids currently, I hate football.
- 48:32My son and daughter hate football so much because Dad
- 48:37gets the TV, not them. That's the problem with it.
- 48:40So I get things that are visible on the screen that they can like
- 48:45to watch in a big old pirate ship in a stadium.
- 48:47That's something that we can look at #3 here.
- 48:51Oh, number four here. So I've got Bill's Broccoli's
- 48:52books #4 here. I've got the Chargers.
- 48:55I have liked the Chargers for a long time.
- 48:57They've pretty much been my AFC team.
- 48:59If I'm going to root for AFC team, it's probably going to be
- 49:01the Chargers because A, they're local and B, I've I've liked
- 49:06their players for a long time now.
- 49:08Justin Herbert, I watched them play in high school.
- 49:11Chances are very high. I watched them play in OR.
- 49:14She was very high. I watched them play in high
- 49:15school. Excuse me, going to high school
- 49:17here in Oregon and then went to college at Oregon.
- 49:20Just I mean, 15-10 miles away from him to high school, I've
- 49:25seen him play pretty much his entire career.
- 49:28And so it's easy. I'm already a fan of the guy and
- 49:30so it would be an easy jump to be a fan of the team.
- 49:33Also, LA is a destination city. If you were to LA for a game,
- 49:37you can also do other things while you're there.
- 49:39And to finish out the list, I have the ramps.
- 49:42Again, LA destination city and I just got a new stadium, although
- 49:46it's not technically a Dome, it's actually a canopy.
- 49:49So if they do have lighting in the area, they do have to stop
- 49:51the game, which I think is wild. And so I've got the the Rams.
- 49:56They're they're easily likeable. I like Sean McVay a lot.
- 49:59He's really good at what he does.
- 50:01And I I like the the the concept of jumping in at the end of
- 50:07their run where they're going to have to rebuild that team here
- 50:10pretty soon. And because Matt Staffs at the
- 50:12end of his career, Devante as at the end of his career, they just
- 50:16got rid of Cooper, cut their staple guy because he's near the
- 50:19end of his career. And so so you're going to have
- 50:22to start new with a new team here, same team, but new players
- 50:27real soon. It feels like a good time to get
- 50:29in with a team like. That so?
- 50:33Well, we have four of the the same.
- 50:36I noticed that, as a matter of fact, the Falcons, the Falcons
- 50:40were in my top five. I was surprised you didn't
- 50:41mention them. The Falcons were in my top five
- 50:44for a long time because honestly, one of the reasons is
- 50:46they have the single best logo in the league.
- 50:50We've already talked about this when when I went about my life
- 50:52ever going through it. She didn't realize that it was a
- 50:56Falcon and an anthem, the whole thing in the claws and they like
- 50:59she didn't realize all of the intricacies with that logo and
- 51:03that boosted them way up. I like the team a lot.
- 51:06I personally don't like Michael Pennix because he went to
- 51:10Washington and I'm an organ fan and that has a lasting effect
- 51:16that should point of the way it is.
- 51:17And so that kind of dropped him out.
- 51:19It had nothing to do with their 30 to 0 loss to the Panthers.
- 51:23My team losing team record actually did not have anything
- 51:27to do at current team record had nothing to do with being a fan
- 51:31of them or not. Now granted, 1 2/3 of these
- 51:36teams are three and out. That's not that's not why I'm a
- 51:41fan of that team or what would be a fan of that team.
- 51:43So I I can play up with bad years just as well I I can be
- 51:47happy with good years. I would hope so because you're
- 51:50coming from the Cowboys, so there's been a lot of bad years.
- 51:51Well, I've been mediocre years. All right, Avery, you're up.
- 51:56Give us your top five potential new favorite teams.
- 52:00Sorry boys, I'm leaking out of my face everywhere, OK?
- 52:05I got the Broncos at #1 because they start with AB and then I do
- 52:13not have the Bills. I do not have the Bills.
- 52:16I like the Broncos. I like no Knicks.
- 52:18I like Sean Payton. They are relatively they're I
- 52:23consider them a West Coast team. I feel like anyone West of the
- 52:26Rockies is a West Coast team just because there's like
- 52:30nothing West of the Rockies. There's just a few, you know,
- 52:33the same in college too. So I, I mean, anybody in the NFC
- 52:37or AFC West I consider a a West Coast team.
- 52:41Also, I I like their colors to a degree.
- 52:46Yeah, the Bucks. I have it too.
- 52:49I've liked what they've been doing with their uniforms and
- 52:53logo lately. I remember their stuff being an
- 52:56eyesore a while ago. I just thought it was like a
- 52:59little convoluted, a little weird, but I like it.
- 53:01And also kind of what Joel said, the way the team's going, just
- 53:05seeing their energy and their drive, it's very contagious.
- 53:09Just looks like it looks like it would be a lot of fun to play on
- 53:12that team. If I was a player number three,
- 53:16I got the Chargers. I I like their colors a lot.
- 53:23The fact that, like Will said, destination, they got a, what's
- 53:27his name? Hampton.
- 53:29They got a Oh my gosh, I'm forgetting everyone's name,
- 53:32Oregon quarterback Justin OR. Whatever.
- 53:35Jeez, yeah. And then #4 got the Falcons
- 53:41Atlanta team. I was named after an Atlanta
- 53:44Braves baseball player. So like maybe there's a
- 53:47connection there, Probably not. I know my dad is watching this
- 53:52because he watches every episode and he'll be like, you didn't
- 53:54mention why you were named that like that.
- 53:57Don't care enough. Not before the game.
- 53:59He never brought me to a game. I had to go with someone else.
- 54:02So if you name me after a player and you never take me to a game,
- 54:08you've you forfeited and 5th, they got the Titans, the
- 54:14Tennessee Titans, because they are an hour away from me and
- 54:19they're getting a new stadium and I will not be seen as a
- 54:21bandwagon and I can go to games, but I I can go to games.
- 54:28But like watching a lot of wins. I don't know.
- 54:31So unless I have some sort of Lincoln, you know, decade long,
- 54:36you know, anticipatory, you know, and then all of a sudden
- 54:39the Titans are Titans out there. I don't know, That might be
- 54:42rough going, but those are my five teams.
- 54:44Broncos, Bucks, Chargers, Falcons, Titans.
- 54:48All right, cool. So the the I guess the last
- 54:52question here before we end is how do you guys want to do this
- 54:54when we have decided like do you guys want to like when one of us
- 54:57like fully knows you want us to reveal it or do you want to like
- 55:00all wait like wait till we all three know and then reveal it?
- 55:04What do you guys think we should do there?
- 55:08Oh. I was like, let's just, let's
- 55:12just say like the reason I the reason I think like if one of us
- 55:14knows, we could like present a case to the other two to like,
- 55:19yeah, I know we're not trying to decide on the same team, but
- 55:22like, you know what I'm trying to say, like we could be the
- 55:25case to. Here's here's my push back and
- 55:29it's for different reasons. I would like to be on the same
- 55:34team as as one of you 2 or both of you.
- 55:36That is not a priority. It's not a must, but it's
- 55:40definitely a factor, just like all of the different variables
- 55:43from these teams. So if one of you does have
- 55:46something already sort of mildly for sure picked out, Joel, I
- 55:52might like to hear your, your taste for it because I think I
- 55:56might be. I think I started probably the
- 55:58closest to knowing who and now I'm probably the furthest.
- 56:02And I think part of that is just like it could go any direction.
- 56:06It's not like there's one room that I have to go this way.
- 56:09If I don't, I'll always feel like I'm long and for this team,
- 56:11like I really don't have any predetermined affinity for any
- 56:15team. So I mean, even with like with
- 56:18the Titans being close by, I'm like, I don't know how often I'm
- 56:20actually going to go to a game. You know, I can go to any SEC
- 56:23game and I don't, you know, So there's a lot of stuff in there,
- 56:26but that who you guys choose affects me.
- 56:31I don't need to be on the same team, but that is one thing that
- 56:34and I I wouldn't want us all three to be on the same team.
- 56:37I just feel like they would change the past.
- 56:39Well, well, here's the here's. The thing maybe?
- 56:41Here's the thing, here's the thing with that, because I have
- 56:43thought about that, But you know, Will and I have been
- 56:47Cowboys fans this whole time and I feel like we have done a very
- 56:50good job of not making it a Cowboys podcast.
- 56:54And I know you're not a fan of the Cowboys, Avery, but Will and
- 56:57I have been lifelong Cowboys fans.
- 57:00And I don't think we have ever said one good thing about
- 57:03Dallas. And I don't feel like we talked
- 57:05about them that often to where we could even be considered
- 57:08somewhat even close to a Cowboys podcast.
- 57:11So, well, I feel like, yeah, I feel like if we do, you're on
- 57:15the tail. End of your fandom here so it's
- 57:17not like. Yeah, but we don't even know.
- 57:19Anything good? I'm like, you guys weren't fans.
- 57:21We didn't know when the shows we didn't know.
- 57:23That's true. That's true.
- 57:24That's true. Look, if if we never started
- 57:27this podcast, we probably would still be Dallas Cowboys fans.
- 57:31Upset and angry ones, but. Self loathing, Yeah, and now
- 57:37you're a little bit more free to like.
- 57:38Just like every Guy Works fan. Yeah.
- 57:42So if we do end up on the same team, I feel like we would do a
- 57:45very good job of not making it a podcast about.
- 57:48That team, yes, we wouldn't. That's a good point.
- 57:54OK, so we'll we'll end with this.
- 57:57So much to Avery's belief. He is actually correct that I do
- 58:02actually know who my new favorite team is.
- 58:05I was just saying my top five just for the purpose of saying
- 58:09my top five spoiler. Coming from someone who doesn't
- 58:13know the answer, it starts with AB go.
- 58:17On. Starts with AB.
- 58:19It starts with. AI am I am not going to reveal
- 58:22my new favorite team today. You just edged us all the way to
- 58:27it. You guys are all the way
- 58:29excited. Guys worked up for your answer
- 58:32and you left us hanging. But that This is why I asked one
- 58:36of the previous questions is because it's because I OK, So
- 58:40what I'll do is I will reveal who my new favorite team is next
- 58:45week on next week's episode. And I will put together a list
- 58:49of all the reasons as to why they are my new favorite team.
- 58:53And I will present that to you guys on next week's episode.
- 58:56And then you guys can take that into consideration for your
- 58:59potential new favorite team. And if you choose to to go with
- 59:03them, that's great. If you choose not to, also
- 59:05great. But yeah, I already know who my
- 59:09new favorite team is and I actually have ordered a hat for
- 59:14that new team. And so I am fully committed to
- 59:18this team and I will tell you guys next week.
- 59:21And let me tell you, I've known, as mentioned, I've known Joe for
- 59:2425 years. He's not going to spend money on
- 59:27anything unless he's actually committed to it.
- 59:31He he will not spend money on things unless he's real about
- 59:35it. So.
- 59:35That's how you know this whole thing is real.
- 59:37The fact that he ordered that, yeah, that's real.
- 59:41I've been looking for things to do with my old cowboy stuff and
- 59:45like like Christmas is coming up and I have a bunch of
- 59:48decorations that happen to be semi related to the Cowboys.
- 59:51Like we're going to have to buy a bunch of new shit.
- 59:54Like sorry, pardon me, I I almost made it the whole time to
- 59:58buy a bunch of new stuff. Now I have to mark it as
- 1:00:01explicit. Will, thanks a lot.
- 1:00:05My bad. I do every time anyway, just to
- 1:00:09be safe. Yeah, I, I know.
- 1:00:11I'm excited though. All right, and.
- 1:00:15Cool. Last thing here.
- 1:00:17Surprisingly overwhelming support from my family who are
- 1:00:20lifelong Cowboys fans. I was talking about it with my
- 1:00:24older brother, two brothers, an oldest brother and an older
- 1:00:27brother. And my older brother is a
- 1:00:29delusional Cowboys fan and he does listen to this podcast and
- 1:00:32so he will hear that he two years will talk to your I don't
- 1:00:36know the year at Dallas about four wins.
- 1:00:38I was saying this is going to be a bad team.
- 1:00:39He said, oh, this is a 12 win team all right about you're way
- 1:00:42wrong. Anyway, he was saying he was
- 1:00:45asking me last night about things and teams and this that
- 1:00:48and the other. And I told him the same 5 and
- 1:00:50say, that's a really solid list. I'm excited to hear who you
- 1:00:53pick. That way we can start talking
- 1:00:55crap to each other. I'm like, all right, OK, I this
- 1:00:58is good. This is good news.
- 1:00:59So, so yeah, I'm into it. I'm loving it.
- 1:01:03Not the whole thing, just copyright.
- 1:01:09All right, so on next week's episode, you guys will hear who
- 1:01:13my new favorite team is. I will reveal that I don't know
- 1:01:16if we're going to do it at the beginning or at the end, but it
- 1:01:19will be sometime during next week's episode.
- 1:01:21Assuming that my hat is here, it's supposed to arrive on
- 1:01:24Friday and so we'll we'll see are.
- 1:01:26You going to get a college decision hat where you put the
- 1:01:28one on, you throw it off, you put the actual one on the the
- 1:01:31new one on. Fair enough.
- 1:01:33And so to be a fan. Of this team.
- 1:01:37Also on Next. Week's episode, it is going to
- 1:01:40be after week 4. So it's not technically the
- 1:01:43quarter mark of the season, but because there's 18 weeks, but
- 1:01:46basically the quarter mark of the season.
- 1:01:48And so we are going to discuss who our top three MVP candidates
- 1:01:52would be at the quarter mark of the season.
- 1:01:55So stay tuned for that. And as always, don't forget to
- 1:01:58keep your balls played with. We'll see you next time.
- 1:02:01Bye now, y'all. Also, Mark Davis and Sarah Kyle
- 1:02:04still sucks.
