- 0:00[SPEAKER_05]: Consistency isn't enough, metrics actually matter.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_05]: People like to have really big aggressive goals, but really, really, really relaxed execution.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to become something you never did, you got to do some stuff you've never done.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_05]: You can be consistently ineffective.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: You got to make a decision that this time is going to be different and that needs to be a company by plan.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_05]: You feel uncomfortable is keeping you stuck.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody is going to save you with this passive, make it convenient for you at VICE.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_05]: This is the unstuck episode.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_05]: If you want the result, get your butt up and get the work done.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_05]: I'm jumping straight into it, you guys, because what you need to know is that consistency isn't enough.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_05]: Metrics actually matter.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, talk about this.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_05]: Listen, let me tell you something.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_05]: I want to talk to you.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_05]: We want to talk to you.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_05]: about how our fitness journey has literally caused some breakthroughs for us in business.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_05]: So chance you know, I've been working out consistently for years.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_05]: I, for a point until you got consistent in the gym, was trying to get you to go to the gym.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_05]: And let's do like these business, body, build, and boot camps.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_05]: And we try to couple of things.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_05]: And we're in the gym.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_05]: And we're doing things.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm walking in all the things.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm maintaining my weight, right?
- 1:11[SPEAKER_05]: I'm maintaining my weight.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_05]: I even went through a season where I shed some pounds.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_05]: And but I'm not building the muscle
- 1:17[SPEAKER_05]: I still look like this slim thick girl that's just regular.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_05]: You know that regular look, where you're not overweight, you're not underweight, it's just regular.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_05]: You're just here, you're just here.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, why am I not gaining the muscle?
- 1:32[SPEAKER_05]: Like everybody's talking about these gains.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm doing these same workouts that I see.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_05]: I'm doing the hip thrust.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_05]: I'm doing the cable kickback.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_05]: I'm doing the chest press.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_05]: I'm doing all the things, but the muscle just isn't cutting.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: For a woman, it talks to me about the muscle that you're looking for, because some women want the muscles, some of them just want to be like, just tone, I don't want too many definitions and stuff like that.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_05]: Too many definitions.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Too many definitions.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_05]: So, for me, I don't want too many definitions, right?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want too much definition, but
- 2:06[SPEAKER_05]: as women, especially because we go through this hormonal loss, as we age, as everybody ages, you start to lose muscle mass.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_05]: And so when you're losing your muscle mass, you just look loose.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_05]: You just look loose.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_05]: Like you're not overweight, you're not underweight, but you just look loose.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_05]: just flat, you know, just loose, and I don't mean to offend anybody.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_05]: I am talking about me and what I didn't like about me, and so when I talk about wanting to the loose ladies are offended already.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_05]: Lose ladies, men are not exempt.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_05]: She'll be loose too.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_05]: Y'all be very loose around the legs and waist and all the things.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_05]: For me, I like, I want the look that somebody says she works out.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_05]: She takes care of herself.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_05]: A friend of mine, a friend of ours, George Ashton Pong, posted something on his stories several weeks ago, and it has resonated with me since.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_05]: And I highly believe this.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_05]: I just didn't know how to put it into words until I saw him do it until I saw him say it.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_05]: And he said that physical fitness is personal hygiene.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_05]: So I don't want to walk around looking like I'm dirty.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to walk around and go into the streets and have sleep in my eyes and don't look like.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_05]: I haven't showered for the day.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_05]: The same with my body, I don't want to look like I don't care about my body and that I'm not actually moving my body and going into the gym.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_05]: So I definitely want definition in my arms.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_05]: I think definition in a woman's arms is so sexy, definition in your back.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want the brush right fat.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_05]: I want the muscle to show lightly in my back.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_05]: So when I am raising my arms or doing the things, there's some muscle definition back there.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_05]: You want the quads to kind of pop out just a little bit and not a whole lot.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_05]: Not for me, not bodybuilderish, but those quads.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_05]: You want that to pop out.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_05]: And you want your glutes to be as lifted and round as possible.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_05]: You, ladies, you can actually lift your glutes.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_05]: They don't have to drop and hang so low.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_05]: And you can literally lift your glutes.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_05]: Here's the thing.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_05]: I spent years, a couple of years.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_05]: In the gym, working out, doing the things, doing the movements, doing the exercises, doing the three, four, and five days a week, doing the walking, maintaining my weight, looking great and close, but no muscle definition,
- 4:23[SPEAKER_05]: out of clothes right and some people will say will being thin enough or hitting your weight goal is enough but that wasn't.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_05]: What I wanted, I wanted to see growth, not in weight gain, but in muscle, because muscle in our bodies as you age is also assigned a physical health.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_05]: You don't want to lose your muscle mass.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_05]: So what do you do?
- 4:48[SPEAKER_05]: I start studying.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_05]: I ask the nutrition.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_05]: I start talking to a nutritionist.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_05]: I'm studying.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_05]: Why am I doing all of the reps?
- 4:55[SPEAKER_05]: Why am I putting in all of the reps?
- 4:57[SPEAKER_05]: But I'm not seeing the growth.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just seeing the maintenance.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_05]: and she said, well, how much protein are you consuming every day?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_05]: And she said, well, you at least, if you want to see some growth, you at least need to consume your body weight and protein.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_05]: At this time, this is when I'm at my smallest recently, a few weeks ago, I need to consume about 154 pounds of protein.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_05]: to start building and if I really want to be ambitious and start building quickly somewhere between 150 to 180 would be ideal for me and protein.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm like, okay, that should be a piece of cake.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_05]: It's just like telling me that I should drink a hundred ounces of water a day.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_05]: I can see that when I can see what the metric is, I can achieve it, right, Shannon?
- 5:42[SPEAKER_05]: So, I create the spreadsheet, because you know, I'm an operations girl.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_05]: I create the spreadsheet and I'm like perfect.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_05]: I ate two boiled eggs for breakfast.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: No problem.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_05]: We'll make up for it throughout the rest of the day.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_05]: We'll make up for it throughout the rest of the day.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_05]: This is 12 grams of protein.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to get like six grams per egg of protein.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm like, OK, cool.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_05]: Breakfast out of the way.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to go work out, come back, do a protein shake.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_05]: That's 30 grams.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: So we're mid-morning here, approaching early afternoon.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm only about 42 grams.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_05]: And you say I got to get 155 minimally.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_05]: So now we're going to go ahead and move to lunch.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to do this grill chicken breast salad.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_05]: And I know one chicken breast is going to run me about 38 to 40 grams of protein.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_05]: So let's just say 40 for Matt.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_05]: So now we're 72 grams in.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_05]: what I have been doing.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that's got to be a big chicken bread.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_05]: That's got to be a really big, juicy, voluptuous.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_05]: This is a bone in chicken breast, all right?
- 6:46[SPEAKER_05]: Like I've got my brands.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_05]: I know what Purdue and all the things.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_05]: I know what they do, right?
- 6:50[SPEAKER_05]: I know which ones I'm going for.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm like, all right.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_05]: I'm at what, what I say, how many gramps we were at?
- 6:59[SPEAKER_05]: 72, I'm at 72 grams of protein.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_05]: I'm still more than halfway away from my goal and I'm already at lunch.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_05]: It's only one more meal, right?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_05]: Now we're talking about, and I don't eat a whole lot.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_05]: So the chicken breast and the two-ball eggs for me, I'm done for the day, usually.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_05]: So what I learned in that moment is that I'm thinking that I'm eating,
- 7:19[SPEAKER_05]: Responsibly, right?
- 7:21[SPEAKER_05]: I may have a snack or something like that, but I'm only hitting 70 something grams of protein.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_05]: So, and oh, and what I would say is that chicken breast that I would normally have for lunch, I'm usually eating half of it at lunch, and then I'll eat the other half at dinner.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_05]: So, for the day, I've eaten three meals, but I only got 72 grams of protein.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_05]: Here's where we discover the problem.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_05]: I'm thinking, oh, I rationed my meals, and I eat in moderation.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_05]: This is good,
- 7:51[SPEAKER_05]: but a woman with the goals that I have actually needs to eat that chicken breast in one sitting.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_05]: So I said, okay, I see what needs to happen here.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_05]: Just eat the chicken breast that lunch, maybe eat some ground beef or something at dinner and we got it.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_05]: I'm struggling to finish the chicken.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_05]: I can't finish this chicken.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_05]: So now what do I do if I can't finish the chicken, then it says, increase your water intake.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's not making sense to me how I increase my water intake to increase, to pick up my metabolism in a way that I can make room for more chicken.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know, I'm just gonna trust the processions.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_05]: I'm ignorance on fire.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_05]: I'm moving blindly throughout this process.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_05]: I hear what my mentor is telling me to do.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know how it's gonna work out, but I pick up, I go from 64 ounces of water a day to now, I'm doing 80, I'm doing 100.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_05]: Somehow I ate that chicken breast.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, I'm working now and powering through my workouts.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_05]: I actually feel hungry again at dinner time.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_05]: So let me get this ground beef in, which is gonna be another 32 grams.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_05]: So for when I started tracking my calories, I was hitting about 100 to 113 grams of protein every single day.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_05]: More than what I had been doing, but still not enough.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want you to miss this message because there are entrepreneurs who say, well, let me post more content.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_05]: Let me make more, it's send more emails.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_05]: Let me, but you're not tracking the proper metrics that actually move the needle.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_05]: You're looking and you're focusing on the copy, right?
- 9:22[SPEAKER_05]: But you're not tracking how many emails are actually getting opened.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_05]: And when you see how many emails are getting open, you're not going back and saying, hmm, maybe I could do more with these subject lines.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_05]: Let me tweak these subject lines because I see that tweaking the subject line,
- 9:36[SPEAKER_05]: is actually directly impacting my open rate.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_05]: I see that the first words that I'm saying in this email is directly impacting or increasing or decreasing, the link click the rate.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_05]: I'm eating this food.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not tracking anything.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_05]: I feel full.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_05]: My job is done, but because I would before I had my spreadsheet, before I had these notes in my phone, I didn't know what decisions were mattering.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_05]: So, over the last two weeks.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: I've been real, real consistent about tracking my protein.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_05]: I literally have my list today's food and drink consumption.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_05]: Every little thing that I've been eating and doing has been going into this note.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm totalling every single day.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_05]: So yesterday, I met lunch with my friend Ernestine.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_05]: and she makes a comment about how cut my arms look.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_05]: I said, I mean, you know, she makes this comment about how cut my arms look.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_05]: I respond to her and tell her the same thing.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_05]: I skipped breakfast yesterday.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_05]: I'm already doing bad.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_05]: I'm skipping breakfast.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_05]: I can't skip breakfast.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_05]: I skipped breakfast.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_05]: We're at lunch, we're at Houston, and I said, I need the highest protein meal on your menu.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_05]: It's going to be the Hawaiian ribeye.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_05]: So the Hawaiian ribeye 14 ounce Hawaiian ribeye is 100 grams of calories of protein.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_05]: I never finished this.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_05]: ribeye ever at Houston.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_05]: I get it all the time.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_05]: Never finish it.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_05]: Usually eat half of it.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_05]: One sitting half of it another sitting shans.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_05]: I had sushi sashimi tuna, which was 45 grams of protein and that entire 14 ounce ribeye.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_05]: And one sitting 145 grams of protein.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_05]: Let me tell you what happened.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_05]: In me initially, you might feel a little full and bloated like I felt good.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't even feel bloated, but around your look like you've eaten, you had a big meal.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_05]: And you start to get concerned and say, if I do too much.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_05]: then it's going to produce too much, meaning if I eat too much, then I'm gonna start gaining weight around my midsection, but not if you're eating the right food.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_05]: If I'd eaten too many mashed potatoes, if I had eaten too much cheesecake, if I had had that spinach and artichoke dip that I wanted, maybe I would have felt full and bloated and disgusting and sluggish and couldn't eat and couldn't sleep and do all the things.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_05]: This morning, I woke up to the flatest stomach I've had and I don't know how long.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_05]: because it's something about consuming the right food that will give you the right output.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_05]: I say all this to say, in your business, you think you're doing the right things.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_05]: I'm doing it.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_05]: I'm putting out all the content.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_05]: Is it the right content?
- 12:30[SPEAKER_05]: Or you say, if I put too much content out, my audience is going to get fatigued with me.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_05]: They're not going to want to see my little business anymore.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_05]: Let's talk about the metrics.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_05]: You're on your fitness journey.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to take the entire conversation because I could go so deep with this.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_05]: I have a couple of notes that why is your business not growing even though you're doing the right things?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_05]: Why is your business not growing even though you're doing the right things?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_05]: If you are doing the right things in your business,
- 13:06[SPEAKER_05]: I guarantee that your business is not growing because you're not tracking the right activity and making sure that you're doing enough of it.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: I understand you feel stuck in your business and I know why, so one of these four things are off either.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have a coach, you don't have to create content, you don't have a strong cash full model or you don't have a community, and this is exactly why I created the morning meetup.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, y'all been watching this podcast for years now.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: For $97 a month, I've been coaching entrepreneurs every single week.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: but right now I have a different goal to invite 10,000 members in.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: So for a very limited time, this community is like 19,000 lucky.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: You will get me live every single Monday.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm answering your questions every single Tuesday.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: We got community day every Friday.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: So you need a coach.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody understands business.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: You need to understand a great content.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: We teach that every single week.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: You also need a strong cash flow model.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's what this honest relationship thing is about.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: And number four, you have to have a community.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: that are in your backyard from around the country.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: Hives a click the link below or at the morning meetup.com 19 bucks a month.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: You're locked in.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_05]: You're sick right now.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_05]: You can't eat.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I'm too hungry because we've gone through the same thing.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's just a...
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I, so when I first started going on this health journey, it was, all right, you're going to the gym three days a week, stop eating foolishness, like stop eating fry food and it was tough, you know, stop eating fry food, stop eating complex cars, what a complex car, pasta, stop eating mashed potatoes and I'm like, you know, potatoes are vegetable.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck, potatoes are good for you.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: You don't mean, but not for where I'm trying to go.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: So no dairy, no fry food, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, nothing.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, dang, what can I eat?
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: But it was really, really difficult at first.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: No sweets, no sugary drinks, only water.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it was tough.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: And when we went through the process, and eventually 40 something days later, you see massive results.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, whoa, this is exciting.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the body.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's looking good.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Shade not a fat.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: The muscles are starting to come out because I'm in the gym.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: But for this 40 something days, I realize that it's something else that I want.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: I want to bulk up into your point where you came in and he was like, yo, are you getting your protein?
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I am.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: But it was after the slimming down, the slimming down, and like getting rid of all this fat, wasn't
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: that difficult compared to wanting the bulk up.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_05]: Say it.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: You think you reached the goal because you dropped a bunch of pounds, but if you want to shape your body, it's a whole not, I weigh 200, it £8.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: Today?
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and I have to eat 200 and let me show you all what this looks like.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know you got a chipotle and you get that scoop of chicken?
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's four ounces.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: Four ounces of chicken is about 25 grams.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: So essentially for the whole day, for 200 grams, out of eight of those big scoops to chicken.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: And you know how the big scoop, that's awesome.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: I got to eight of those scoops of chicken throughout the day.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: On top of, saying, oh, you got to drink a gallon of water.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: You got to drink a bunch of water on top of the fact that I'm intermittent fasting between 12 and 8.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I got to eight-hour window to consume all this food when I'm not used to eating like this.
- 16:42[UNKNOWN]: Yes.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: it was difficult.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: And from the outside looking in, why would you eat more?
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: to way less or why would it doesn't even make sense but the the point that I got from all of this was at every level it requires different instructions.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: So what we're doing to go from our job to being a full-time entrepreneur there's this one set of instructions you've got a grower you've got a house you've got to get out there but once you get to that
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's a whole, it's consuming a bunch of stuff that you don't even have to capacity.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: My stomach didn't have capacity for that.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_05]: Well, and it's also recognizing that you were working out, but you weren't hitting your muscle goals.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_05]: I was working out, but I wasn't hitting my muscle goals, so you have to first recognize that
- 17:36[SPEAKER_05]: working out does not automatically equal muscle goals.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_05]: A hundred percent.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_05]: Doing the activity doesn't automatically equal the outcome that you're doing.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_05]: You can be consistently ineffective.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: And let me tell you, you see those people that's in the gym five days a week.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: And they're still...
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: overweight or to still fluffy.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because you cannot outwork a bad diet period.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_05]: You cannot outwork a period.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_05]: Now, I'm testing that theory just a little because I'm still going to order my tips, treats, cookies every two weeks, out order these cookies.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_05]: I get six cookies and I eat one a day except for one day I'll have two, right, because they start to get
- 18:25[SPEAKER_05]: I think that we need to, um, we need to identify what a bad diet means, because sometimes we'll tell people you can't outwork a bad diet and they start denying themselves of everything good and they're only eating bland, unseasoned chicken and ground turkey that has no seasoning at all.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: No sympathy.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_05]: You have no sympathy.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I have no sympathy.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_05]: Tell me more.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to become something you've never been, you've got to do some stuff you've never done.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, let me just shut the way we lose weight, right?
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Is you, you consume less calories than you burn.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly it.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: So, somebody that's constantly working out, that means,
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: They're burning more calories, which affords Donnie the opportunity to have a cookie because you work for that.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Let me show you all something real quick, okay?
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: How many calories do you not make calories just supposed to eat today?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Or what you put you on a calorie deficit?
- 19:29[SPEAKER_05]: 1200.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: So we're, well, yeah, but most of us are going to lose
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to burn about 2,000 calories.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think for a woman is like 17, 16, but average man, 2,000, something calories.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's 1,000 for us to just inactive calories.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: They were calculating it like man, women, whatever, but there's, let's say, 2,000 calories.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you work out every day to week.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: And you are constantly eating 2,300 calories every single day, you're not going to lose weight.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now you can work out more so that you can increase the calories that you're taking because you're burning more.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: But let me show you this real quick, how many calories is a slice of pizza?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: A slice of pizza is almost 300 calories.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_05]: Chris and Cringdowna, one will blow your entire room door account for the day.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's, I'm talking about this one doughnut.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say it's like the cream was an ice doughnut with custard filling.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: There's 300 calories.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can literally, and how many doughnuts do you eat in one sitting, not one?
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, let's set you three of the donuts immediately.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's half the calories for the day.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, and let me let me Edit what I said about my cat 1500 was when I was trying to lose weight, but to maintain and build muscle I can consume about 2,200 calories a day.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, last thing, cheesecake, factory, cheesecake.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: The calories are insane.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: One slice of cheesecake, factory, grocery, cheesecake.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's the regular with nothing on it, 270 calories.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: My point is, if you want, yeah, I just made a list of things that will cause you to be unsuccessful.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: One of them is eating, whatever you are doing, whatever you want to do, when you want to do it.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_05]: doing whatever you want to do whenever you want.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: Or eating whatever you want to eat when you want to eat it.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be a point where you have to look at it and say, I really want that bad, but I don't want it right now.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: At least for a season, I want 40 something days with no complex carbs, no dairy, no fried food, no this, no that, no this, no that, but guess what, I started to lose my addiction.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_05]: I was addicted to food.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_05]: You know why most people will rather say, I do what I want to do whenever I want to do it because what it means to not do what you want to do intentionally is that you have discipline.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_05]: And having discipline is tedious.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_05]: It's uncomfortable sitting down and saying, I have to literally count what I consume.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_05]: It's a tedious task.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_05]: It's something that is another thing that now I have to commit to, but you have to ask yourself, how strong is this goal?
- 22:40[SPEAKER_05]: And the physical goal, the physical body goal might not be the goal that you're going after.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_05]: Whatever that goal is though, what do you have to do to go all in?
- 22:51[SPEAKER_05]: When I sat down, I spoke to a trainer, I spoke to an nutritionist, and I spoke to chatGPT, right?
- 22:58[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm saying, what is the fastest way for me to hit my goals?
- 23:02[SPEAKER_05]: And
- 23:03[SPEAKER_05]: Initially, all three sources gave me this very moderate structure to get it done so that it can fit into my lifestyle seamlessly and easily and that's not what I want.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_05]: I want you to cut the fluff for me and tell me what I have to do, right?
- 23:17[SPEAKER_05]: Don't tell me to pick up my protein intake from my average of 70.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_05]: grams of protein to try next week hitting a hundred.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_05]: No, tell me what needs to happen, how consistently it needs to happen, tell me the things that I should be measuring and monitoring.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_05]: Like I'm literally asking all the questions down to like,
- 23:38[SPEAKER_05]: You have to go deeper than, and this is why most people stay very average.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_05]: Because I could stop at, okay, how many protein should I have?
- 23:47[SPEAKER_05]: How many calories should I have?
- 23:49[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I also want a couple that with how should I feel?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_05]: I need to know how I should feel.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_05]: How do I know if I'm eating the right thing?
- 23:55[SPEAKER_05]: How do I know if I'm consuming the right carbs and not the bad carbs?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_05]: What will my body feel like?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_05]: What will my body do?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_05]: So then we get into digestion and how you should be pooping and eliminating and all the things every single day.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you have to be so locked in on your goal that you are willing to do the deep dive.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_05]: And one of the things that, one of the things that actually irritate me about entrepreneurs, even people who are in my community and they know this, is that people like to have really big aggressive goals, but really, really, really relaxed.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_05]: Execution.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, and it drives me insane.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_05]: How are you telling me that you want to go from earning $0 to making your first $100,000 this year?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_05]: But you're going to post sometimes.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to tell people about your business sometimes.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to wake up on time sometimes.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to read the books sometimes.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_05]: You can't pick and choose which part of discipline you want to participate in if you're serious about your goal.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: 100% that's what I was saying like for the people is like, yo, I am going to have to starve.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, you're going to have to starve yourself.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you don't have to do anything in this world.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: But if there's something that you want, it's going to require you becoming a different type of person.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought we should make a little list of things that can help people get to their goal.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever that goal is.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: There.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to 100% require you.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just look at, look at like who you've been and the person you've become and the things you do on a regular basis.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that will tell you a lot.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: That will tell you so much about where you're going.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like when I come in here, I don't, I was just talking to Jay and our money about this other day.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't time frustrates me, bro.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like if I'm doing nothing.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: If we're sitting here, if I'm on my phone, Jay's on his phone, K is talking to our money, I get anxious.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, why aren't we doing something?
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: We need to do something.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: I can't sit there for a while and not do something.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: but that's a habit that I've created.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you're another I wake up every single day at the same time.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, first is the first point.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you can have number two, okay?
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: Unless you want number one.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_05]: I kind of want it.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_05]: Number one.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Go for number one.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get on with
- 26:28[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the very first thing I would say, the very, if we're creating a list of what you have to do, the very first thing I'm gonna say is measure, right?
- 26:36[SPEAKER_05]: Because if you're not measuring that means you're guessing.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_05]: And it takes the same amount of energy to guess as it does to measure, but only one of those things actually gets results.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_05]: I guessed how much protein I was consuming before I started tracking.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_05]: I guessed that I was close enough.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_05]: that even if I had to make some adjustments in my protein consumption that I couldn't be so far off when really I was 60% away from the goal.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_05]: It literally takes me the same amount of time to sit here and hold on, let me guess.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_05]: Let me think, I probably do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: you have to make a decision that I want more.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Not only the decision that I want more, but I think you have to make a decision that I'm going to go after at this time.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: You got to make a decision that this time is going to be different, and that needs to be a company by plan.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: So once we make the decision, what is the plan?
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: I said I wanted to get in shape.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: I made the decision and how I know I made the decision was I paid for a trainer, which our trainer's not cheap.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: First off.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Every time I was like, you know how much is your training and I tell them they're like, ooh.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's not cheap, but I made a decision.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: I said, if this is what I want, I'm going to have to part with my money.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: If this is what I want, I'm going to have to part with my time.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: Think about the life of an entrepreneur that I'm living right now.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: I come to the studio at eight, and I do the call from eight to nine.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: At nine, 30, I have to leave here, to get to the gym by 10, 15.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a 40 minute drive.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in the gym from 1015 to 1115 and I get back at 12, my entrepreneurial life is essentially inactive for me from 930 to 12 o'clock in the middle of the day.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: you can only imagine what type of sacrifice that is for someone who's accustomed to not being idle and not getting some stuff that it frustrates me to no end.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: That this is like, I'm like, bro, you know, six PM sessions, you know, I'll take a five in the morning.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let me do five to six.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: He don't have the sessions.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, I had to make a decision.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: that I'm going to be in the best shape of my life.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to make a decision that I'm finally going to take off my shirt in the pool and be proud.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: And not have to walk around my hand just follow the last of my talking to you.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: You just put your arms on your belly.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_05]: Is that what you were doing?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Or absolutely.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Or, or you're trying to get there early to get in the pool.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know me like there's all these little hacks you got to go through you feel me or walk walk around Which is shoulders back a little bit so I look like a little self hold your stomach again Then jump in the pool and do you can let it go?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't want to live this life I no longer want to get in the pool with the cover up on come on I'm taking the cover up off for more the cut ladies You know you want the cover up to come off.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fellas.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: You look silly with a t-shirt on
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: In the pool, we've got to make a decision.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to make a decision.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_05]: When you make the decision, though, I believe that it's really, really important to commit to a plan.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_05]: You have to actually commit to a plan.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_05]: Winging it.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: Is that number three?
- 30:34[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, sure.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_05]: Make a plan commit to a plan winning it works until it doesn't Talk about winning it works until it doesn't and we've all had those situations in which in the beginning
- 30:51[SPEAKER_05]: you're really winning it.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_05]: And sometimes you have to kind of win it.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_05]: You start at winning it.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_05]: In the gym, I started winning it in the gym.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_05]: But I remember your journey of winning it so loudly because you documented it, right?
- 31:04[SPEAKER_05]: And when I say winning it, when you got on your journey, your fitness journey, you would literally go to the gym before you commit it to the plan.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_05]: You went to the gym and you touched equipment.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_05]: You were just literally trying to get the desire
- 31:20[SPEAKER_05]: to go.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_05]: You went the reason that you touched the equipment, you maybe picked up some dumbbells, did three bicep curls, and was out, was because you didn't have a plan.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_05]: But if somebody said, like your coach said to you, a chance,
- 31:35[SPEAKER_05]: If you stop eating this, start doing this work out routine, stay consistent with this particular plan, I'll get you the result that you want.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_05]: But you trying to do it on your own with no plan.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_05]: You have no experience here.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_05]: You've never had to lose weight before.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_05]: You've never had to get fine before.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_05]: You know what I mean?
- 31:52[SPEAKER_05]: Like, not saying that you were never finding your life.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_05]: I'm saying you never had to intentionally get fine.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_05]: you never had to do these things so you're going and thinking it can't be that hard.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_05]: It's a gem.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_05]: It's equipment.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_05]: Let me just look at the pictures on the machines and do the workout that they're suggesting I do and I should get a result.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_05]: Know you're winning it.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_05]: and winning it does not get you the result.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_05]: It might get you started, but it does not take you to the finish line.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: 100%.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: What's our list?
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna have to write.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, measure.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: You have to measure activity, all right?
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, you have to make a decision.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: Number three, commit to a plan.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody just loosely thought in the comments right now,
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a short plan.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: My plan is to X.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: My plan is to wake up every morning at 6 o'clock in the morning.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a plan.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a plan, right?
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: So it takes a little longer to formulate it, right?
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: So Donnie has to calculate, okay, what do I want my body to look like?
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: What is my plan to get there?
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all should see her list is don't Britain out everything she's going to eat.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is the plan.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure she has a specific time.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: We are going to work out.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's the
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: I believe this.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_05]: Before you go to number four, you just said something.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure she has a specific time.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_05]: Day, all the things.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_05]: I work out sometimes with my friend Najia.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_05]: And we'll talk the night before, and she'll say, hey, these are the times that I have available.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_05]: And I will say, mm, mm, mm, mm, I'm gonna have to work out by myself this time because if I work out during your time is gonna interfere with my feeding schedule.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_05]: Because I know if I get off of my eating schedule, there's a strong possibility that I will not be able to make up my grams of protein throughout the rest of the day.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_05]: So just like I have to say in the beginning, I can't go to that branch because if I go to that branch, I won't get the studying and that I allocate it for today.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_05]: Or if I go to that branch, I won't get to do the testing that I said I would do today because I know when I get home, I'm going to be too tired to do it.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_05]: So I have to stick to this.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_05]: is the same way with your fitness journey, with anything, you have to make sure that you don't just have the things planned, but when do these things have to occur?
- 34:04[SPEAKER_05]: And those, when you start living in this kind of discipline, operating and managing your life becomes so much simpler.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_05]: I know that I have to have my next meal by 12.30.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_05]: I know.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_05]: Otherwise, I am going to be off track.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_05]: That's how dialed NIM.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: man.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: I hope this is helping you.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: Number four, I do believe you're playing whatever you decide to do should be a company with accountability.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: Accountability is so huge.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you're going to accomplish any goal,
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's important to put layers of protection on it, meaning there's more things standing in between you in quitting.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's no layers.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: There's no friction.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: There's no reason to stay there.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to work out.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to work out.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that's going to be it.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's no layers of friction.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: in there there's like if you don't go who knows nobody says anything about it so I believe wholeheartedly the reason I'm going to say the biggest reason that I am still in the gym to this day two reasons one we have group sessions so it's not just me and a trainer one or one
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's four people.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's why when I saw a chance of my own chance.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: Why did you quit and he put it in the comments.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, I'm Thing I just took a month off.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: I ain't quit.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is called a layer of friction If I if I don't show up to all someone's going to call.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: There's only four people there.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's me rose Darius and chance.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: We noticed the chances going if I'm not there too long.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get a phone call
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: We have to have these layers of accountability.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Every single morning, I do a workout routine.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: I wake up at 5.45 and it takes me a little while to get going.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: I go to my daughter's room and I just start working out because she's in my bed, which is a whole nother frustration.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: But I wake up at 5.45 before 6 every single morning.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: And what I started doing was I'm going to like the morning meet up chat and I'll put a little message the time and the actual workouts.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I put 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 70, I just put the list in there.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I was going on for a week and then one day I didn't want to wake up where I didn't want to get up and work out.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: The only reason I got up is because I had to put the post in there.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's been going on.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know how long it's weeks over a month for sure.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: The only reason most of the reasons I wake up now is to put that post in the chat.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's a layer, that's a layer of friction, there's a layer of accountability because and it's not even like, if I missed a day with someone say something, I don't know, and I don't wanna find out.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: So every single, I remember, I mean, 60% of the time, I'm waking up like, bro, I don't wanna do this, but I do it anyway because of that.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_05]: What number was that that you think so what you just said went into my number five just go build in friction for bad habits build in friction for bad habits so very similarly to how you make this post when I fell into a space where I started to last year I've shared the story so many times I was lacking motivation and I'm trying to pull myself out of it
- 37:50[SPEAKER_05]: one of the bad habits that I created was just laying around in bed.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_05]: Confessing myself that I could not get out of the bed, I couldn't move.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_05]: So I had to build in some friction, right?
- 38:02[SPEAKER_05]: That built in friction was me creating the millionaire morning call inside of actionable CEO.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_05]: At 6.45 a.m. every single day.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_05]: people are coming on that call looking for me to say something positive.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_05]: So it immediately is friction against the bad habit that I developed immediately, just like you said, whether I want to do it or not, I have to wake up with something positive to say.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_05]: And over time, that effort, even if I didn't believe the positive words that I was saying that day, over time, you can't show up to this call anymore with a frown on your face, sit in front of me like, hey, you guys, you can do it.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_05]: Yep, you can go out there and make it happen.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_05]: Have a killer day when your day on purpose.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_05]: Over time, those words become
- 38:48[SPEAKER_05]: guys, listen, we're waking up every single day for this call.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_05]: Just three weeks ago, this didn't seem possible three weeks ago.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_05]: It was hard to get out of the bed.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_05]: Now here we are, you're making a decision to win your day on purpose.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_05]: It's easy to get into that, but you've got a build infriction for some of you that built infriction is.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_05]: to set the productivity alarms in your phone.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_05]: You're doing too much on Instagram.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_05]: You need to set that alert that says you only get an hour a day on Instagram.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_05]: For some of you, you need to remove the TV from your bedroom because you like the work from your bedroom.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_05]: When you get in there and your goal is to read, you actually are turning on TV and you're doing the things.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_05]: Some of you need to stop buying the sweets and the snacks and the drinks, the sugary, all these things for your kids.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_05]: but then late at night, you're down there eating the welches fruit snacks.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm, eating all the baby snacks.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_05]: You're eating all the baby snacks, just like that man.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:44[UNKNOWN]: All right.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if you'd like mess up everything else, but if you start building up this no list, this, okay, I'm not going to eat fried food, that's how people ask me, you know, what's the first step?
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's just, it was created a little list of things that we're going to say no to.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to, it doesn't have to be everything all at once, but there's going to have to be some sort of non-negotiables.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, I am not going to the club for the
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: That might be a no list.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're accustomed to hanging out with your friends, okay, you had a long week at work, and you come out, you know, we got this routine where we go hang out, you need to put that on your no list.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: What am I going to do in the time that I would normally be at the gym or at the club?
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: What is, what would I be doing normally?
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm not dating anymore for the next few months.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what that's going to be for you.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: But it's going to have to be some non-negotiables that you create and people around you need to know that they're your non-negotiables, so they don't even have to ask anymore.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_05]: Would number was that?
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: That was number six.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_05]: Number six.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_05]: So that was number six.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: That was number six.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: That was number six.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: OK. Measure the activity, make a decision, commit to a plan for accountability, five-build infriction, and six-creational list.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_05]: OK.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_05]: So that takes me into, if you have a no list,
- 41:27[SPEAKER_05]: Now, we need to talk about it to do list, but it's not the action plan.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_05]: The step is not having to do list is to create a system, not just a to do list.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_05]: So, you know that you have to eat the food every day.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_05]: You know that you have to post the content every day.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_05]: Those are to do that you put on a to do list.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_05]: Instead of a to do list, create a system that says,
- 41:48[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to batch x amount of content weekly.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_05]: I am going to mill prep.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_05]: So when you have to do these things that are on your to-do list, you've created systems that make it a flawless process, right?
- 42:00[SPEAKER_05]: If I have to wake up every single day and think about what I'm going to cook, chances are I'm going to become decision fatigue.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_05]: I will spend two hours on this decision.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_05]: And here I've missed a two hour opportunity for me to consume protein, right?
- 42:14[SPEAKER_05]: If I have mill prep,
- 42:16[SPEAKER_05]: All I have to do now because of this meal prepping system is going to my fridge and pick which meal I want to eat a ten minute decision that could have been a two hour waste of time.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_05]: you have to create systems in order to get these to do list knocked out easily.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_05]: System saves everything.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_05]: Like just think about the systems in your business.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_05]: You can either be sending manual emails to everybody or you can have auto responders.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_05]: You can either be responding to every DM1 on one or you can use systems like mini chat or respond.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_05]: I owe and allow these systems to work for you.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_05]: you can either be trying to take, you know, to give every single person information or you can create a VSL on your website that's a video sales letter where you're telling people about your offer.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_05]: So when you're getting them on a sales call, you don't have to do necessarily that part, you're more so qualifying for them for it.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_05]: Systems make everything simpler.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Number eight, number eight.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: And this is going to be a little more challenging to do, but you're going to take a little while, but you're going to have to intentionally change your algorithm.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: You have to change that algorithm.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: If I look at some of your phones, I can see what you're searching, and I can see what you stay on for a while.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: How do you change the algorithm?
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: All my feet, and I'm not gonna say, like, give up social media, but if you're gonna be on social media, you need to be intentional about what you see.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I am constantly searching, work out stuff, protein, different body shapes, text stuff.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm constantly searching that, yo, social media, they look at, like, how you scroll the thing you stop on, it takes a note, oh,
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: Donny was scrolling and stopped on that.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: She liked that.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Scroll scroll scroll, stop on it.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they spent a few seconds on this one.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: She might have more.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let me feed her a little more of what she's stopping at and what she's searching.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's kind of, it's funny when I look at somebody's, look at mine.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: Come on man.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: All workout.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_05]: All workouts, stuff.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna get workout, food, maybe hair on mine.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_05]: And every now and then I like to look at cute animals.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm telling you, when I look at somebody's phone and I, like, they're showing me some Instagram and like, oh, just, like, scrolled on me, scrolling people's phone, but when you look at the Explorer page, and it's all Instagram models.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_05]: I know what you're over there doing, buddy.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: I know exactly what you've got going on.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_05]: you can scroll on mine for days and it's just gonna be work out.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: So it's gonna be intentional because the thing that you see, it takes a little while because you're gonna be scrolling and you're gonna be forced to stop on the thing that is entertaining or funny.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now I watch funny stuff and all that kind of stuff, no problem, but we have to be very intentional on changing the algorithm.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, mine is if you have another one do it because I have the last one, I think.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: Um, did you have one more thing on your knees?
- 45:34[SPEAKER_05]: All right, let's stop at nine.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_05]: The last one is going to be recovery and rest.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_05]: Um, recover and rest because the gym is not where your muscles grow.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_05]: Your muscles grow during your rest time.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_05]: The gym is where you.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_00]: I say my, uh, my.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: Say my.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_00]: You're right, you're right.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just an end.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_05]: Nothing, but just an end.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's a funny stuff.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_05]: You're trying to get you trying to get your hair line back.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: No, it might be a funny job.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to throw it.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just going to throw it.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you shouldn't, you're trying to get your hair line back.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_05]: Listen, it is in rest and recovery.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_05]: Most people think that you grow during your workout.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_05]: Your workout is where you're tearing your muscles.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_05]: Your workout is where you're challenging your body.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_05]: Your challenging your limitations, your capabilities, your physical strength is during your rest time.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_05]: that your muscles actually repair and grow.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_05]: That's why they tell you don't work the same muscle.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_05]: every single day, change it up.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_05]: Because your muscles have to rest in the gym, your progressively overloading, at least you should be if muscle growth is your goal, your progressive overloading.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_05]: That means that you're either doing more reps or you're increasing weight or you're doing both of those things, longer workouts, whatever that looks like.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_05]: And you're causing these little damage to your muscles, like you're tearing, putting little tears in your muscles and you're causing this damage,
- 47:02[SPEAKER_05]: Now, in order for them to rebuild themselves, you gotta chill out, imagine scraping your knee and then going back, imagine you fell down and you scraped your knee and you keep going in every single day and scraping your knee in the same spot.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_05]: is never going to heal.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to, you got to cover that spot on your knee up and allow it to rest.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to protect it.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_05]: You have to do the same thing, even as an entrepreneur.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_05]: When you keep going over and over and over and over again, you will get what is called burnout.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_05]: It is in your rest and recovery that your creativity comes back.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_05]: Your motivation comes back.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_05]: Your inspiration comes back.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_05]: And that is where you go to grow.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_05]: So all of this, no sleep, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to have some firm boundaries.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_05]: And you've got to say, no, these are my rest hours.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_05]: I have to recover.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_05]: Because in the rest and recovery process is where I am built the most.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: Love it.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: Love it.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully this is valuable for you all.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build anything, the principles are the same.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build anything, what we just talked about, the principles are 100% the same.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully you feel convicted, hopefully you feel bad about yourself right now.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_05]: No, hopefully you fail.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I think that works sometimes.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_05]: Now hopefully you will discuss it with your staff.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 48:38[SPEAKER_05]: And you know, I'm kind of with you on this.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_05]: It just, there's just a point where just get to work.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_05]: Like, nobody's babysitting you through this process.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_05]: We're not going to spoon feed you the information.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_05]: Like, if you want the result, get your butt up and get the work done.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_05]: You want to get fine, get off the sofa.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_05]: You want a flat stomach, put the damn fork down.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_05]: All right, put the cheesecake away.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_05]: You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
- 48:59[SPEAKER_05]: you don't have to completely deny yourself forever, but you have to deny yourself for the goal, like nobody else is coming to save you, but you.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_05]: And it's time for you to stop expecting that the message get delivered in a way that suits your ego.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes people gotta tell you, no.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_05]: Shut up.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_05]: Stop being dumb.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_05]: You want to work out?
- 49:21[SPEAKER_05]: You want to get fine.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_05]: Work out.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_05]: How much working out are you doing right now?
- 49:24[SPEAKER_05]: None.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_05]: But you want to get fine.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_05]: Take your lazy butt to the gym.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_05]: You're looking for motivation.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_05]: Get on the cable machine.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_05]: Do a couple of cable kickbacks.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_05]: That's going to motivate you.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to motivate you.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_05]: The burn that you feel in these glutes.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_05]: That's what's going to motivate you.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_05]: Sitting on the sofa and doing nothing is not going to motivate you.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_05]: Sitting around telling people how far you are away from a goal and then I ask
- 49:47[SPEAKER_05]: you how far you can't give me an answer, it's as an eye behavior, all right?
- 49:51[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to give it to you the way that you need it because you are so used to people shrinking the message to fit your ego to protect your feelings to not hurt your feelings because everybody is so sensitive you said the other day is hard work not to offend some people it's time for you to feel offended.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_05]: It's time for you to feel offended because you
- 50:13[SPEAKER_05]: This is the unstuck episode and I am on one right now.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_05]: We are not here to satisfy your ego.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_05]: We are not here to make the process seem easy for you to seem convenient for you.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_05]: It's not easy.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_05]: It's not convenient.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_05]: It's not easy to get out of the bed every single day walking to the bathroom.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_05]: Barely able to move and can't sit down on the toilet because you've been doing the work.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_05]: It is not easy to come into your office every single day having to do the same work.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_05]: Every single day going to bed, having given it all you have because you want to reach the goal so badly that you're willing to do whatever It's not easy being away from your family It's not easy plugging out of your friends because you have a goal.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody is going to save you with this passive Make it convenient for you at vice.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_05]: If you want the result make it happen.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_05]: That's that really is all it is
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about makes my little bad about themselves.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you took that message, because that's how you need to be talked to them.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, hey, listen, don't come back in this episode, be in this podcast, be in the same person you were after this episode.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: Put it in the comments.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: What are you going to do?
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: What is the resolution?
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see you all next week.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_05]: Bye.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_05]: Have a nice day, you guys.
- 51:31[UNKNOWN]: Right.
