- 0:07Speaker 1: It's a mediat podcast. Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the
- 0:12Speaker 1: only game show where conservation always wins. I'm your host,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Spencer new Arth and today we're joined by Brody, Randal,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Cal Chili, Reva, Tresa and Nate. This is a ten
- 0:23Speaker 1: round quiz show with questions from meat eaters for verticals
- 0:26Speaker 1: which are hunting, fishing, conservation, and cooking. And there is
- 0:29Speaker 1: a prize. Meat Eater will donate five hundred dollars to
- 0:31Speaker 1: the conservation organization of the winners choosing And for the
- 0:35Speaker 1: stat of the week this week, we're looking at the
- 0:37Speaker 1: average winning score and if it's changed over time. Some
- 0:41Speaker 1: folks ask if the show has gotten easier or harder,
- 0:44Speaker 1: So this stat might answer that for the first sixty
- 0:47Speaker 1: games of Meat Eater Trivia, the average winning score was
- 0:50Speaker 1: seven point three to two, and over the last sixty
- 0:53Speaker 1: games of Meat Eater Trivia, the average winning score is
- 0:56Speaker 1: seven point six to two. It's a point three wrecked
- 1:00Speaker 1: answer increase, which is about a five percent raise, So
- 1:04Speaker 1: I would say it has not gotten harder or easier.
- 1:07Speaker 1: What's going on with these glasses over here? Randall?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Well, before the game, Chili said he had to go
- 1:13Speaker 2: out to his truck to get his glasses so that
- 1:14Speaker 2: he looked smarter. Okay, so I had these classes that
- 1:17Speaker 2: I found and I thought i'd get these too.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Oh actually prescription, Uh huh, it might be a backfire.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Do you think he looks smarter?
- 1:25Speaker 2: I don't know. They make me really dizzy when I
- 1:27Speaker 2: look through the top, but through the bottom they're not bad.
- 1:29Speaker 1: They make you look older. I don't know about smarter, though.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I think they look make me look uncannily like Jeffrey Dahmer.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Ah, yeah, I could see that. So for the stat again,
- 1:41Speaker 1: a five percent ray, Well, I interrupted it because it
- 1:45Speaker 1: was jarred when I looked up. You weren't wearing those
- 1:47Speaker 1: five minutes ago. No little treat for the YouTube bodience.
- 1:51Speaker 2: See Jeffrey doing it on YouTube Mediator Podcast Network YouTube channel.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Now here's our Infrequently Asked Question segment. If you have
- 1:57Speaker 1: a trivia related question for our crew, send it to
- 2:01Speaker 1: Trivia at the medeater dot com with the subject line
- 2:04Speaker 1: I FAQ. Josh Dowsey wants to know how many users
- 2:07Speaker 1: submitted questions do you get each week? I look back
- 2:11Speaker 1: through the inbox and did the math, and we get
- 2:12Speaker 1: about one hundred and ten question submitted each week. I
- 2:16Speaker 1: use four or five of those in each show, and
- 2:18Speaker 1: then I use another four or five for the board
- 2:21Speaker 1: game and expansion packs that don't make it into the show.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So your chances of having a question used on the
- 2:26Speaker 1: show We're in the board game are about nine percent.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Use four or five every show. Usually four is the
- 2:34Speaker 1: number that I use from listeners, and then I do
- 2:35Speaker 1: six of my own. Well, there's one listener question of
- 2:39Speaker 1: the week, but then we have other questions that make
- 2:42Speaker 1: the cut that don't win the board game signed by
- 2:45Speaker 1: the crew. So when you email in a question, you've
- 2:48Speaker 1: got about a ten percent chance of having that question
- 2:51Speaker 1: you somewhere and getting that credit. Now, for the housekeeping
- 2:54Speaker 1: this week, I want to circle back. What's up we
- 3:01Speaker 1: now Jeffrey Dahmer has actually entered the room. Yeah, uh,
- 3:12Speaker 1: very good. Pass the glasses today now and see what
- 3:14Speaker 1: he looks like. Keep going around the room. Sure, yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I see that as well. Okay, the Brotherhood of the
- 3:24Speaker 1: Traveling Glasses. For housekeeping, I want to circle back to
- 3:30Speaker 1: the board game offerings from Meat Eater Trivia this year.
- 3:33Speaker 1: A few weeks ago, I told you about our hunting
- 3:35Speaker 1: and fishing expansion packs, and how there's a third product
- 3:38Speaker 1: coming this fall. So today I'm thrilled to announce the
- 3:42Speaker 1: Meat Eater Trivia board game Collector's Edition, holding it in
- 3:47Speaker 1: my hand right here, So you should go to YouTube
- 3:49Speaker 1: so you see uh Ted and Jeffrey Dahmer and the
- 3:53Speaker 1: Meat Eater Trivia Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition is jam
- 3:58Speaker 1: packed with new items. You'll get the entire og board game,
- 4:02Speaker 1: plus both expansion packs and one hundred additional questions that
- 4:06Speaker 1: are only available in the Collector's Edition for a grand
- 4:09Speaker 1: total of thirteen hundred questions. The game also comes with
- 4:13Speaker 1: a physical board game for scorekeeping, which Tresta is holding
- 4:17Speaker 1: up over here, game tokens that we've we've scattered around
- 4:20Speaker 1: the room and those are bigger than fifty cent pieces,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and an additional whiteboard and marker. And for my favorite part,
- 4:28Speaker 1: the whole thing comes in a custom built Meat Eater
- 4:30Speaker 1: Trivia ammo can you can see again right on YouTube.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Now this was a prototype, Brody. I noticed you opening it.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It will open differently like a traditional AMO can. The
- 4:40Speaker 1: next one you got to.
- 4:44Speaker 3: No one's got a little damp too, is that well?
- 4:47Speaker 1: It's been traveling around the office so yeah, you could.
- 4:50Speaker 2: You could.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You could give her a good dent if you're not careful.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I maybe wouldn't plan on storing ammo in here that
- 4:56Speaker 1: you're floating down a river with. But you could store
- 4:58Speaker 1: ammo in there that sits in your or sits in
- 5:01Speaker 1: your gun safe, or you keep the mediat To Trivia
- 5:03Speaker 1: Collector's Edition in there.
- 5:07Speaker 3: That's right.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Well, it does come with like messy spray paint on there,
- 5:14Speaker 1: so yeah, maybe the dents was not organic, came from
- 5:18Speaker 1: the factory like that. The Meat Eater Trivia Collector's Edition,
- 5:21Speaker 1: Meat Eater Trivia Hunting Expansion Pack and Meat Eater Trivia
- 5:25Speaker 1: Fishing Expansion Pack will be available soon.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Nicely done, Spencer, nicely done.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I love these tokens. When we were designing, I said,
- 5:32Speaker 1: make them bigger than fifty cent pieces, and somebody should
- 5:34Speaker 1: have told me, no, they didn't. They just actually executed
- 5:38Speaker 1: them that way, and now they are enormous. These are
- 5:41Speaker 1: the biggest game pieces you'll find uh anywhere on the market.
- 5:44Speaker 1: M coming very soon, coming this fall. Now, the Shelby
- 5:49Speaker 1: Index for today is a five, so I'm putting us
- 5:52Speaker 1: on perfect score alert and with that we're onto the game.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Of trivia, play the drop phill. Look, I need to
- 6:01Speaker 1: know what I stand to win everything?
- 6:05Speaker 2: How's that just tend to win everything?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Gamon Suckers.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Question one. The topic is public lands. This first great
- 6:20Speaker 1: question is via Eric Jennings, and as always, it will
- 6:23Speaker 1: be multiple choice. Which state contains the most miles of
- 6:28Speaker 1: the Appalachian Trail? Is it Virginia, New York, Georgia or
- 6:35Speaker 1: New Hampshire? Randle with a very quick answer. It's almost
- 6:40Speaker 1: as though he didn't even need the multiple choice question
- 6:43Speaker 1: and choices.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I benefited indeed from the.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Choices Virginia, New York, Georgia, New Hampshire. Which state contains
- 6:53Speaker 1: the most miles of the Appalachian Trail? Nate, you know
- 7:02Speaker 1: this one.
- 7:03Speaker 4: I've got down to two.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Okay, anybody through hike the Appalaschian Trail here?
- 7:08Speaker 3: No, I've had a job.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So we could really uncover something interesting.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Through Hikers are strange people.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, right, It's like they.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Don't get it, just sit there and enjoy nature.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they're going through.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I'm glad they exist, though I like they're.
- 7:28Speaker 3: They're bumped into quite a few in the bob.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Does everybody have an answer for which state contains the
- 7:34Speaker 1: most miles of the Appalachian Trail Virginia, New York, Georgia,
- 7:40Speaker 1: New Hampshire. Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 7:45Speaker 1: Chili saying Virginia. Tresa says Virginia, Riva, Virginia, Randall, New York,
- 7:53Speaker 1: cal New York, Nate, New York, Brody, New York. One
- 8:00Speaker 1: of the two groups in the room is right. It
- 8:03Speaker 1: is either New York or Virginia. Probably the correct answer
- 8:08Speaker 1: is Virginia. Oh, Chili, Tressa and Reevo got that one right.
- 8:14Speaker 1: The Appalachian Trail passes through fourteen states. There are five
- 8:19Speaker 1: hundred and fifty miles of trail in Virginia, which is
- 8:22Speaker 1: nearly double that of second place Tennessee with two hundred
- 8:26Speaker 1: ninety three miles of trail. That's followed by Maine at
- 8:29Speaker 1: two hundred eighty one miles, Pennsylvania at two hundred twenty
- 8:32Speaker 1: nine miles, New Hampshire at one hundred and sixty one miles,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and Vermont at one hundred and fifty miles. West Virginia
- 8:39Speaker 1: has the least amount of trail, with just four miles.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Question two the topic is hunting this dog, which is
- 8:48Speaker 1: Mickey Mouse's pet has hunted moose and quail in Disney cartoons.
- 8:57Speaker 1: This dog, which is Mickey Mouse's pet, has hunted moose
- 9:01Speaker 1: and quail in Disney cartoons. Randall, Nate, and Call appear
- 9:06Speaker 1: to know this one. Reva, Tresta, Chili not.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Best Mickey Mouse.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Lot of Mickey Mouse when My boys were little? Did okay?
- 9:20Speaker 3: Mickey Mouse on South Park.
- 9:25Speaker 5: The Jonas Brothers episode, Yes God, that was fantastic.
- 9:29Speaker 1: In the Star Wars episode as well.
- 9:31Speaker 2: The Imagination Land three part feature Oh.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Boy, The copyright has now expired on the og Mickey Mouse,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and it's about to expire on some other characters as well.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Is this like a name or type of type of dog?
- 9:49Speaker 1: We're looking for a name proper now? And here this dog,
- 9:52Speaker 1: which is Mickey Mouse's pet has hunted moose and quail
- 9:57Speaker 1: in Disney cartoons, not recent cartoons. So uh, we'll talk
- 10:03Speaker 1: about it in the follow up factor it waiting on
- 10:09Speaker 1: Tresa and Chili. Are you two going to come up
- 10:11Speaker 1: with an answer?
- 10:12Speaker 2: I didn't even know you imagine.
- 10:17Speaker 1: We could. We could clear out for two minutes and
- 10:19Speaker 1: let you sing there, Rand if you'd like, Are we
- 10:25Speaker 1: ready go ahead and reveal your answers Chili and Tressa
- 10:30Speaker 1: without an answer. Va says own dog. Randall says goofy,
- 10:36Speaker 1: to which Nate said, he does not own goofy. Cal
- 10:40Speaker 1: says Pluto, Nate says Pluto. Brody says goofy. The correct answer.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's Pluto and Nate got that one right, and that's correct.
- 10:55Speaker 1: He does not own goofy. And Goofy is also not
- 10:57Speaker 1: technically a dog. He's just identified as a Canine's the distinction, Well,
- 11:03Speaker 1: if you look up, I think some people think he's
- 11:05Speaker 1: a cow, some people think he's a dog, But if
- 11:06Speaker 1: you look up what he actually is, it just says canine,
- 11:09Speaker 1: whereas Pluto, it says Pluto is a dog.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Huh.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Pluto's first ever appearance is in a nineteen thirty one
- 11:16Speaker 1: seven minute video where he and Mickey are moose hunting.
- 11:19Speaker 1: His next hunt would come eight years later in a
- 11:22Speaker 1: video called The Pointer, where Mickey tries to teach Pluto
- 11:25Speaker 1: how to flush game. In that video, Mickey promises Pluto
- 11:29Speaker 1: that if they're successful, Mickey will cook quote quail on
- 11:32Speaker 1: toast and maybe a nice, big, juicy bear steak. The
- 11:36Speaker 1: early versions of Pluto had him drawn as a bloodhound,
- 11:39Speaker 1: but was later changed to a generic mixed breed dog.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Sobering beginning to our contest here.
- 11:46Speaker 1: So much for that perfect game. Perfect game in the room,
- 11:49Speaker 1: and we have Randall and Brody over two. Question three,
- 11:55Speaker 1: The topic is cooking in this next great question is
- 11:58Speaker 1: via Ali Spangler. The spruce eat defines this culinary word
- 12:03Speaker 1: as quote, melting and clarifying hard animal fat for cooking purposes.
- 12:11Speaker 1: The spruce eats defines this culinary word as melting and
- 12:14Speaker 1: clarifying hard animal fat for cooking purposes. Fill to your
- 12:20Speaker 1: kids enjoy Mickey Mouse.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Uh not really.
- 12:24Speaker 5: They never really got into the whole Mickey Mouse thing.
- 12:27Speaker 5: But Disney has had some like really some modern Mickey
- 12:30Speaker 5: Mouse cartoons that are in the front right. No, that's
- 12:33Speaker 5: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
- 12:34Speaker 4: That's kind of that. That's a toddler show.
- 12:35Speaker 5: There's a more recent like animated short sort of series
- 12:39Speaker 5: that are really clever and honest, like hilarious. And there
- 12:44Speaker 5: is a more recent Christmas special with Pluto that I
- 12:47Speaker 5: think was done in the eighties where man, he really
- 12:49Speaker 5: wants to eat Chip and Dale and here that's great.
- 12:52Speaker 5: He trees them at one point and it's it's not
- 12:55Speaker 5: I wouldn't say it's hunting, but it's it's it's hunting related.
- 12:58Speaker 1: You know, there's some dark conspiracies around, like Pluto behaves
- 13:02Speaker 1: like a dog and doesn't talk right, but Goofy is
- 13:05Speaker 1: a canine who does talk, and like some participations of
- 13:09Speaker 1: intelligent society. Yes, like, uh, Goofy has a soul, but
- 13:12Speaker 1: Pluto does not. And what happened there between the two?
- 13:16Speaker 1: And we're on question three. The spruce Eats defines this
- 13:19Speaker 1: culinary word as melting and clarifying hard animal fat for
- 13:24Speaker 1: cooking purposes. It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 13:30Speaker 1: We have Chili and Tresa and Reva. The entire room
- 13:35Speaker 1: said render or rendering and they got it correct. Answer
- 13:39Speaker 1: is render or rendering, Thanks Clay. You can render the
- 13:43Speaker 1: fat of basically any game animal, from turkey to deer
- 13:46Speaker 1: to duck. During the rendering process, you remove any water
- 13:50Speaker 1: or debris from the fat via cooking and straining. To
- 13:53Speaker 1: learn the steps of rendering, read Daniel Pruitt's article in
- 13:56Speaker 1: the medieater dot com called what to do with wild
- 13:59Speaker 1: Game At question four, The topic is conservation. Name one
- 14:05Speaker 1: of the name one of Texas's two national parks. Is
- 14:12Speaker 1: question four? Name one of Texas's two national parks. Brody
- 14:18Speaker 1: and Randall appear confident the rest of the river. It's
- 14:22Speaker 1: not come up with an answer yet. Could you do
- 14:24Speaker 1: both of them if you had to? Brody, I'm not
- 14:30Speaker 1: sure about the second. Okay, how about yeah, I don't
- 14:33Speaker 1: want to talk more. Do you know both?
- 14:35Speaker 2: I feel very confident about one, less confident about the other.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Name one of Texas's two national parks.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Shot.
- 14:49Speaker 1: The room is fairly stumped. We're going to have a
- 14:52Speaker 1: pretty even game after question five. But this is question four.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Name one of Texas's two national parks.
- 15:00Speaker 3: See Randy marsh And and Mickey and the Wuhan Bat.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Of course, Yes, that's I.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Mean, that's I mean if your kids don't like original
- 15:10Speaker 3: Mickey point.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, that Mickey uh also lacks his soul.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I would say for sure he's.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Got dead eyes.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Still enjoy Nate's correction of Randall. That Goofy is not owned,
- 15:31Speaker 1: but nicky.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I mean, I like to learn something every day I
- 15:36Speaker 2: come in here, so.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'd like to watch the show though, thinking of that
- 15:39Speaker 1: dynamic Goofy being the pet dog of Mickey. Name one
- 15:45Speaker 1: of Texas's two national parks. Folks are struggling to come
- 15:49Speaker 1: up with an answer. Is everybody ready go ahead and
- 15:53Speaker 1: reveal your answers. We have chili without an answer. Tressa
- 15:57Speaker 1: says Petrified Forest, which is in Arizona and a National
- 16:00Speaker 1: park Riva. Without an answer. Randall says Big Bend. Cal
- 16:05Speaker 1: says I'd say Great Bend.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I wrote big Band, but then I was like, it's
- 16:12Speaker 3: a great band and I can't remember great.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Great Top Bend, Nate says Sam Houston. Brody says Big Bend.
- 16:21Speaker 1: The correct answer is Big Bend or what would be
- 16:25Speaker 1: your second guest, Brody, Great Bend. I think it's not
- 16:28Speaker 1: a national park, but I was going to say Padre
- 16:30Speaker 1: Island and that rand what do you think? The second
- 16:33Speaker 1: one is?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Uh, yeah, Padre Island. I don't know. It's escaping Big Bend.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And Guadaloupe.
- 16:41Speaker 2: That was an answer on here at one point, wasn't it.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I don't. I'm sure we've referenced it before, but I
- 16:48Speaker 1: don't think it's better an answer. Both National parks are
- 16:51Speaker 1: located in West Texas and are known for their mountains.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Guadaloupe Mountains contains the highest point in Texas at eight thousand,
- 16:58Speaker 1: seven hundred and fifty one feet in elevation, and Big
- 17:02Speaker 1: Bend is the only national park in America that contains
- 17:05Speaker 1: an entire mountain range. Question five, the topic is biology.
- 17:10Speaker 3: And bids a big block.
- 17:13Speaker 1: There you go. What happened with the answer on that one?
- 17:17Speaker 1: I don't think he gets that one right, Great Big Bend,
- 17:20Speaker 1: Great Bend to start some ship.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I've sat there and stared into.
- 17:29Speaker 2: It's hunting season, so Cal's feeling less fiery today. He
- 17:34Speaker 2: wanted to get.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Out question five the top somebody at noon on a Friday. Listen.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It's hard to schedule this time of year because half
- 17:43Speaker 1: the company is in Venice, Louisiana next week. So we
- 17:46Speaker 1: had to fit this one in while we could. Question
- 17:49Speaker 1: five topic is biology, and this next great question is
- 17:52Speaker 1: via Christy Holmes. This nine letter word is defined as
- 17:57Speaker 1: quote the hardened outer protectively of a pupa of a butterfly.
- 18:05Speaker 1: This nine letter word is defined as the hardened outer
- 18:09Speaker 1: protective layer of a pupa of a butterfly. Brody has
- 18:15Speaker 1: his answer complete. The rest of the room is making
- 18:19Speaker 1: their Hangman dashes. Nate, you have this one right, full time, Nate,
- 18:25Speaker 1: over here, Nate, you are I think probably the first
- 18:28Speaker 1: meat eater intern to turn full time employee. Maybe I
- 18:32Speaker 1: shouldn't say, but I think we've only had like five
- 18:34Speaker 1: interns ever, so there haven't been much competition. But the
- 18:38Speaker 1: first intern turn full time employee and soon to be
- 18:43Speaker 1: trivia champion, that's right, right word some good performances lately.
- 18:49Speaker 1: This nine letter word is defined as the hardened outer
- 18:52Speaker 1: protective layer of a pupa today one a butterfly.
- 18:56Speaker 4: I'm at like four three. I'm tied for first right now.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Phil put up two fingers in the one.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I kind of want to pipe in here.
- 19:05Speaker 5: I know we normally do the score check up after
- 19:07Speaker 5: question five. Everyone's tied for first. Everyone on the room
- 19:10Speaker 5: has two points right now.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Okay, maybe separated here on question five.
- 19:17Speaker 3: This is killing, man.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I know this the hardened outer protective layer of a
- 19:22Speaker 1: pupa of a butterfly. Nate and Brodie are the only
- 19:25Speaker 1: two with any confidence. Randall, is it? There? Is it
- 19:30Speaker 1: on the tip of your tongue?
- 19:32Speaker 2: I feel like I know the noises. Okay, so I'm
- 19:37Speaker 2: trying to come up with a word that I'm trying
- 19:39Speaker 2: to just go through the syllables in my head. I'm
- 19:44Speaker 2: gonna go with this. I don't think it's a word.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Oh Chili, Tressa, Reva, are you going to come up
- 19:52Speaker 1: with an answer? Okay? Do you have a right answer?
- 19:56Speaker 4: Eva?
- 19:57Speaker 1: I mean okay, Cal, do you give up?
- 20:00Speaker 4: Sure? Go ahead.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Your answers. We have chili without an answer. Tressa says cocoon,
- 20:11Speaker 1: Reva says cacophony, Randall says crystalis, Cal says set, Nate
- 20:22Speaker 1: says Chrystalis, and Brody says Chris. Answer up. The correct
- 20:31Speaker 1: answer is chrysalis, which I don't know, but I don't
- 20:36Speaker 1: think so.
- 20:36Speaker 2: That's real close for a hardened protective.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Lets you spell it for you, and you tell me
- 20:44Speaker 1: how many letters you have right, C h R, Y
- 20:49Speaker 1: S A L I S.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I have heard you tell he's on the show upwards
- 20:56Speaker 2: of dozens. Spelling does not count.
- 20:59Speaker 3: But when you're not Randall, what you wrote down is
- 21:01Speaker 3: the name of a young lady who's lost away and
- 21:04Speaker 3: dances from.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I would say, if you only have fifty percent of
- 21:10Speaker 1: the right letters, uh, that's all of the syllables, just
- 21:16Speaker 1: with a T in the middle, which I think it's
- 21:19Speaker 1: like Phil chimed in pretty quick I don't know. I'm
- 21:25Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna go with Phil on this.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Phil, did you jump in so quick?
- 21:30Speaker 4: I mean you have a T. If you're throwing in
- 21:31Speaker 4: a constant, it changes the game completely.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Crystalis crystals.
- 21:35Speaker 5: That's not simply simply misspelling ripen about how filthy your
- 21:42Speaker 5: table is.
- 21:42Speaker 1: But now I'm not because he did the right thing.
- 21:45Speaker 2: It's like that scene and gets smart when he's trying
- 21:47Speaker 2: to say the dude's name. Not even close.
- 21:50Speaker 1: We're not going to give Randall the point on that
- 21:52Speaker 1: one answer.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I think that's about as damn close as you can get.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Close does not apply.
- 21:59Speaker 1: The tea was a large problem.
- 22:01Speaker 5: If you've put a K instead of a C, that
- 22:02Speaker 5: would be I'd be different.
- 22:04Speaker 2: But I was moving things around a lot because initially
- 22:07Speaker 2: I spelled it with a C h R, and then
- 22:09Speaker 2: I had like I had eleven letters at first, and
- 22:13Speaker 2: so I just started cutting letters.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Wow, Phil, give us a score update.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Oh that's kind of you.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Randal in my chair of power.
- 22:23Speaker 5: Let's see, we've got Chili, Trussa, Reva, Randall and col
- 22:27Speaker 5: All with two points.
- 22:28Speaker 3: This is crazy game.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Nate and Brody just one point more than than they've
- 22:33Speaker 5: got three, they're tied up in first place.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Game.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have a perfect game, but we will
- 22:37Speaker 1: have a good game. Question six. The topic is fishing.
- 22:45Speaker 1: This fishing gear subscription company has shipped eleven million boxes
- 22:50Speaker 1: since its creation in twenty twelve. Chili, quickest to answer
- 22:59Speaker 1: question six. This fishing gear subscription company has shipped eleven
- 23:03Speaker 1: million boxes since its creation in twenty twelve. God see
- 23:12Speaker 1: ads for this stupid thing. All the time I've been
- 23:14Speaker 1: giving all too fast.
- 23:16Speaker 3: I thought the whole box subscription thing kind of didn't
- 23:20Speaker 3: exist anymore.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I think it hit its climax during COVID and is
- 23:24Speaker 1: coming down ever since then.
- 23:26Speaker 6: I still get emails if it's the box I'm thinking of.
- 23:30Speaker 6: There's some interesting information I found out over the weekend
- 23:33Speaker 6: about it.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Oh okay, what's her name?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yea?
- 23:37Speaker 3: Was that an interesting bit of information?
- 23:40Speaker 4: I can tell you.
- 23:40Speaker 6: But you know we're tired, right, This fishing.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Gear subscription company has shipped eleven million boxes since its
- 23:47Speaker 1: creation in twenty twelve. Trusty, do you have this one right?
- 23:51Speaker 1: I know it is a fishing gear subscription Okay, but
- 23:54Speaker 1: it might.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Be I gave one of these to my nephew, and
- 23:59Speaker 3: was you know, I dropped stuff off and then don't
- 24:02Speaker 3: ever ask about it again. But I was pretty excited
- 24:05Speaker 3: to see, you know, what he would get and how
- 24:08Speaker 3: excited he would be lost the entire box.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Oh like like fishing or just like in the just.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Like who knows?
- 24:16Speaker 1: Oah, yeah, who knows. I think these exist to be
- 24:19Speaker 1: given to nephews.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I never understood the subscription box thing because it's like
- 24:25Speaker 2: it's for people who want to spend money but don't
- 24:27Speaker 2: know what they want to spend their money on.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Well, I think the other value is like, say it's
- 24:31Speaker 1: a ten dollars subscription, they guarantee fifty dollars in gears.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Oh see that so correct. Gosh, that does sound like
- 24:39Speaker 2: a good deal. How are we doing over there, Buddie?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Everybody ready?
- 24:42Speaker 6: Yeah, you're looking flustered.
- 24:45Speaker 5: I love when someone who never waits like.
- 24:49Speaker 3: That's the only that's the only angle I have. Yeah,
- 24:53Speaker 3: you need to earn the Brody. Okay, that's what he's saying.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Do you have Okay?
- 25:01Speaker 3: This gets given in our White Elephant every year, the
- 25:05Speaker 3: same box.
- 25:05Speaker 1: So Nate and Brody are not confident. This is going
- 25:07Speaker 1: to make it a tighter game.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Like confident, I'm pretty sure box is in the name.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Just don't add a tea. Don't add a tea?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Boys, All right, do we give up yet? Crystal, go
- 25:20Speaker 1: ahead and reveal your answers. We have Chili saying Rapaula.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Tresa says Yakota, Reva says Angler's anonymous. Randall says fly box.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Cal says mystery tackle box. Nate says angler box. Brody
- 25:38Speaker 1: says lure box. We have a correct answer in the room.
- 25:44Speaker 1: It's Mystery tackle Box. Cal got that.
- 25:47Speaker 5: Wow.
- 25:49Speaker 1: A Mystery tackle Box subscription ranges from twenty dollars a
- 25:52Speaker 1: month to forty dollars a month, with pursuit specific boxes
- 25:56Speaker 1: for bass, panfish, trout, walleye, and saltwater Stream declared the
- 26:00Speaker 1: box is the best way to test out new baits. Question, Jilli,
- 26:14Speaker 1: he got that one wrong with Rapaula, And what would
- 26:17Speaker 1: you like to share about Rapaula that you learned? Well,
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I don't uh we uh.
- 26:25Speaker 6: It's the guy that works with us or not works out.
- 26:27Speaker 6: He's done some stuff for us, Casey Underwood. I don't
- 26:30Speaker 6: know if I don't know, I don't know if this
- 26:32Speaker 6: is factual. I don't know if like this is actual
- 26:34Speaker 6: like legit. But Casey is known for making stickers and
- 26:38Speaker 6: drawings of fish birds, really great art, very great art.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Local to some public land creator coffee mug that he's
- 26:46Speaker 3: doing with the peas squoil forever.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Yes, he does.
- 26:48Speaker 2: He just I think they just dropped it not too
- 26:50Speaker 2: long ago.
- 26:50Speaker 6: But anyways, he was I think he was walking around
- 26:53Speaker 6: and Rapp had like a box, a fishing box, and
- 26:57Speaker 6: they had it was for small mouth and large archmouth
- 27:00Speaker 6: bast and they used his sticker. Well, they have his art,
- 27:04Speaker 6: have his art on their box. And Casey went on
- 27:07Speaker 6: his Instagram posted about it. Yeah, Rapper like what the
- 27:10Speaker 6: hell or some ship?
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah, one of the biggest vision companies in the world,
- 27:14Speaker 1: according I don't think so.
- 27:16Speaker 6: I texted him to do something and he goes, yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 6: I should.
- 27:19Speaker 1: This is all happened in like the last three days.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Yeah, the story. There's more to be told.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Yeah, sure.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Question seven the time of his conservation. This is our
- 27:30Speaker 1: listener Question of the Week, which was won by Terry
- 27:33Speaker 1: DuPont for sending this great question. Terry is going to
- 27:35Speaker 1: get a board game signed by the crew. If you
- 27:37Speaker 1: want a chance to win the Listener Question of the Week,
- 27:40Speaker 1: then send your question to trivia at the Meat Eater
- 27:42Speaker 1: dot com. This author has written twenty five novels about
- 27:47Speaker 1: the fictional game boarden Joe Pickett. Hell Randall has this
- 27:54Speaker 1: one right, Nate and cal I. Just Randall has reclaimed
- 28:01Speaker 1: the glasses and just like that, I had to change
- 28:03Speaker 1: the energy in the room. The topic is conservation on
- 28:07Speaker 1: question seven. This author has written twenty five novels about
- 28:11Speaker 1: the fictional game warden Joe Pickett. Have you read any
- 28:15Speaker 1: of these books? Randall? We had him on the podcasts
- 28:22Speaker 1: yet to be said.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I can't remember, Buddy. Mine just got checked by a
- 28:26Speaker 3: Wyoming game warden and had it was they were they
- 28:31Speaker 3: put this big long stock on a bowl way in
- 28:34Speaker 3: the wilderness and shop the ball. It's his cousin's first
- 28:40Speaker 3: six point ever. He's super excited. He's like, hey, validate
- 28:44Speaker 3: your tag and he stopped and did that and he's
- 28:49Speaker 3: like yeah. Like twenty minutes later, here comes this lone
- 28:51Speaker 3: dude hiking up to us and just had very favorable
- 28:56Speaker 3: things to say about the game warden. Like he was
- 28:58Speaker 3: like the guy obviously loved his job. He was super
- 29:01Speaker 3: respectful of our hunt. He sat there. We had no
- 29:03Speaker 3: idea it was there, watched the whole deal, stayed way
- 29:06Speaker 3: out of the way, waited until everything was was over,
- 29:09Speaker 3: and then he came up and said hi. And he
- 29:12Speaker 3: had tied his horse up a long way away and
- 29:14Speaker 3: hiked a long way to get in there and stuff,
- 29:16Speaker 3: and so it was.
- 29:17Speaker 2: A good deal.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I've never read one of the books about the fictional
- 29:20Speaker 1: game more than Jill Pickett. But he's never in an
- 29:22Speaker 1: ordinary situation like that, you know, he's like dealing with
- 29:25Speaker 1: an oil tycoon or a serial poacher who shot the
- 29:29Speaker 1: world record moose.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Well, if you ever get a hankering to read one
- 29:32Speaker 3: of the books, it doesn't take long.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I read, Yeah, I read.
- 29:42Speaker 4: A few.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I think I just read a few excerpts. I checked
- 29:45Speaker 2: a few books out from the library in preparation for
- 29:47Speaker 2: the podcast, just to get a good feel for it.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Brody, have you come up with an answer?
- 29:53Speaker 2: I can't apologie, I can't see it. I can't say
- 29:56Speaker 2: anything else. I mean, he was a he was a
- 29:58Speaker 2: wonderful man. I really enjoyed that.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Warner Brody has now gendered him as well, said he's
- 30:03Speaker 1: a man, and he was on the Mead Theater podcast.
- 30:06Speaker 1: But he still can't come up with a name.
- 30:08Speaker 2: It's not going to happen.
- 30:09Speaker 1: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 30:14Speaker 1: have Chili without an answer and revo without an answer.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Tressa says John Grisham. Randall says c J Box, Cal
- 30:22Speaker 1: CJ Box, Nate, CJ Box, Brody, Tjox. I couldn't get.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Shouldn't I knew.
- 30:31Speaker 1: It was initials, just as the correct answer is. Cjbox
- 30:37Speaker 1: Box describes the wyoming game warden Joe Pickett as quote
- 30:41Speaker 1: in every Man Hero with a Pensiant for stepping into trouble.
- 30:45Speaker 1: A TV series about Picket was created by Paramount in
- 30:48Speaker 1: twenty twenty one, but was canceled after two seasons. For
- 30:52Speaker 1: more on the book series, listen to episode five twenty
- 30:55Speaker 1: five the Meat Eater Podcast, where CJ Box was a guest.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Question eight the topic is cooking. Southern Living magazine describes
- 31:04Speaker 1: this baked dish as a pan of ground meat and
- 31:07Speaker 1: vegetables that's covered with a layer of mashed potatoes. Southern
- 31:15Speaker 1: Living magazine describes this baked dish as a pan of
- 31:19Speaker 1: ground meat and vegetables that's covered with a layer of
- 31:23Speaker 1: mashed potatoes.
- 31:27Speaker 3: And then you had turned the page for the gravy
- 31:29Speaker 3: recipe because of Southern Live.
- 31:31Speaker 1: That's right. I think every edition of their magazine probably
- 31:34Speaker 1: has to come with a gravy recipe. At the room
- 31:39Speaker 1: looks confident except for Brody Andriva. Southern Living magazine describes
- 31:46Speaker 1: this baked dish as a pan of ground meat and
- 31:49Speaker 1: vegetables that's covered with a layer of mashed potatoes.
- 31:53Speaker 3: This definitely exists in Iowa, Juliet. I've made it like
- 31:58Speaker 3: last year.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Is going to return your wink, But in these glasses,
- 32:02Speaker 2: I thought I might just pass out. I has overloaded
- 32:10Speaker 2: at the moment.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Iowa has the Caucaus castrole that they make because they
- 32:15Speaker 1: always get to be the first state that votes in
- 32:17Speaker 1: the Caucaus.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I feel like, if you were to.
- 32:21Speaker 1: What's in the caucas castrole, I think it's like more
- 32:24Speaker 1: of a fictional dish than a real dish. It's kind
- 32:26Speaker 1: of whatever you want it to be.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you're just making a castrole hot dish.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say.
- 32:31Speaker 6: I feel like if you were to change or just
- 32:33Speaker 6: the way you describe the potatoes in this question, you
- 32:35Speaker 6: could have a completely different dish.
- 32:38Speaker 1: But that's why we say it's a layer of mashed potatoes.
- 32:42Speaker 1: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 32:47Speaker 1: have Chili and Tresa saying Shepherd's pie, Riva without an answer,
- 32:52Speaker 1: Randall cal and Nate saying Shepherd's pie, Brody without an answer.
- 32:58Speaker 1: The correct answer is shepherd's pie or cottage pie. It's
- 33:03Speaker 1: believed that this dish was created in Ireland or England
- 33:07Speaker 1: as a way to repackage leftovers from a Sunday roast.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Danielle Prue it has a venison shepherd's pie recipe in
- 33:14Speaker 1: her new cookbook Wild and Whole, which is out right now.
- 33:17Speaker 1: She says that dish from page seventy eight of the
- 33:20Speaker 1: book is one of her favorite meals. Break cold day
- 33:23Speaker 1: and we actually had a little snap food today. Phil
- 33:27Speaker 1: came in and he says, I'm about to eat lunch,
- 33:30Speaker 1: but just so you know, I brought a Shepherd's Pie
- 33:32Speaker 1: in today. And Phil did not know that this question exactly.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the non hot dog.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Brody declared that the studio smelled like hot dogs and
- 33:41Speaker 1: he felt it.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Phil covered his tracks by claiming it was a sad
- 33:46Speaker 2: I was.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Trying to throw. I didn't even I didn't want Phil
- 33:49Speaker 1: to have the opportunity to say shepherd's pie.
- 33:51Speaker 4: So I thought that was.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Odd that you just pulled out and it caught my ear.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I panicked.
- 33:58Speaker 3: This is like one of the two things my dad
- 34:00Speaker 3: could make, so growing up, was it good? But see
- 34:03Speaker 3: he would he would call it hamburger gravy because it
- 34:06Speaker 3: was shepherd's pie inverted. So oh yeah, yeah, like instant
- 34:13Speaker 3: mashed potatoes. Oh wow, frozen baggies. Oh, I ate a
- 34:19Speaker 3: ton of it right now.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Left leg is made out of it. Phil, we have
- 34:23Speaker 1: two questions left. Give us a scoreboard update.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Uh Reva is the only person who is not in
- 34:31Speaker 5: the game anymore. But we've got Chili Tressam Brody with
- 34:35Speaker 5: three points. Randall Williams has four now tied up for
- 34:39Speaker 5: first place. Ryan Callahan and Nate the not intern they've
- 34:43Speaker 5: got five.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Question ninebody, do you think you'd be taken out by
- 34:49Speaker 3: Shepherd's pie? That was the way you're going down today?
- 34:55Speaker 4: Yep.
- 34:56Speaker 1: The topic is hunting. Win Chester Day ibued this round
- 35:01Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen, calling it quote the fastest straight walled
- 35:06Speaker 1: hunting cartridge in the world. Randal with an answer before
- 35:10Speaker 1: I even finished the question. This is number nine the
- 35:14Speaker 1: topic is hunting. Win Chester debuted this round in twenty nineteen,
- 35:19Speaker 1: calling it the fastest straight waled hunting cartridge in the world.
- 35:24Speaker 3: I was at shot show and shot this thing arranged
- 35:28Speaker 3: in twenty nineteen.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Okay, do you remember what it is at all? Randall?
- 35:35Speaker 1: Do you own one of these?
- 35:36Speaker 2: There?
- 35:36Speaker 1: Is that going to be too much of a hint
- 35:37Speaker 1: if you do.
- 35:39Speaker 2: I do not have. I've moved on for my straight
- 35:42Speaker 2: walled days. Headed West became a bottleneck man.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Okay. But when we talked last of the time, when
- 35:47Speaker 1: we talked about where we'd want to own a hunting property,
- 35:50Speaker 1: did you not pick a straight walled state or no?
- 35:52Speaker 4: I did?
- 35:53Speaker 2: I did Kentucky?
- 35:54Speaker 1: Okay, Well, they also allow center fires there.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yeah, actually I guess Kentuck. He isn't a straight wall state.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I just killed deer with a straight wall there. But
- 36:03Speaker 2: Indiana is a straight wall state. Ohio became a straight
- 36:06Speaker 2: wall state after I left. When I was there, it
- 36:08Speaker 2: was all slugs and muzzleoders.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:10Speaker 3: I wrote down the straight wall cartridge that this came
- 36:15Speaker 3: out to beat, because it's the only straight wall cartridge.
- 36:18Speaker 4: I can remember.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I'm fixing to maybe hont Illinois or I will here.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so I can. Then I have an excuse
- 36:25Speaker 1: to get a straight walled cartridge.
- 36:26Speaker 3: You just bring your shotgun out there.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I could, but or I could just get a new gun.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good excuse to get a forty five seventy.
- 36:35Speaker 1: When Chester debut this round in twenty nineteen, calling it
- 36:38Speaker 1: the fastest straight walled hunting cartridge in the world, Brody,
- 36:42Speaker 1: how do you feel about your answer? You know, maybe okay,
- 36:45Speaker 1: maybe it's everybody ready, Nate, how do you feel about
- 36:49Speaker 1: your answer?
- 36:51Speaker 2: I think I'm one character off.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Okay, we have also also when they're running, because that's
- 36:57Speaker 1: your Shelby could win this one and she'd be tied
- 37:00Speaker 1: up in the lead with it.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Now, can I ask a question?
- 37:03Speaker 1: Are you looking for? How do I ask?
- 37:06Speaker 2: It's a proprietary cartridge. It's very straightforward.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I'm not talking to you. Yeah, I'll tell you like that, Like,
- 37:12Speaker 1: the answer is not the answer is not thirty odd six,
- 37:15Speaker 1: but you would write down thirty odd six if that
- 37:18Speaker 1: was the answer.
- 37:19Speaker 3: I'm just saying, like, I can't forgeteah, Like if their
- 37:22Speaker 3: answer was two twenty three, you would write down two
- 37:26Speaker 3: twenty three.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 37:32Speaker 1: We have chili without an answer. Tresta says three oh
- 37:35Speaker 1: eight Riva without an answer. Randall says three point fifty legend.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Cal says bush Master, Nate says three fifty legend. Brody
- 37:45Speaker 1: says three fifty legend. They got it. The correct answer
- 37:49Speaker 1: is three fifty legends, So would you accept it? Three
- 37:52Speaker 1: fifty is.
- 37:52Speaker 4: What I'm no.
- 37:54Speaker 3: That's because is because it's three fifty bush Master too.
- 38:00Speaker 2: I can remember this three fifty or four to fifty legend.
- 38:03Speaker 1: The three fifty legend has more energy than a thirty
- 38:06Speaker 1: thirty Winchester and less recoil than a two forty three.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Since its inception, the three fifty legend has become one
- 38:13Speaker 1: of the most popular rounds for deer hunters and states
- 38:16Speaker 1: that only allow straight walled cartridges. To see how it
- 38:19Speaker 1: stacks up against its predecessor. Jordan Siller's article on the
- 38:22Speaker 1: mediater dot com called caliber Battle thirty thirty Winchester versus
- 38:27Speaker 1: three fifty Legend. Here's a correct answer review so far.
- 38:31Speaker 1: One was Virginia two, Pluto three Render four Guadalupe Mountains
- 38:38Speaker 1: or Big Bend five Chrysalis six Mystery tackle Box seven,

- 39:06Speaker 5: He's got six points one time.
- 39:09Speaker 1: All Question ten. The topic is wildlife. The National Audobond
- 39:18Speaker 1: Society believes that sightings of this West Virginia cryptid are
- 39:22Speaker 1: actually an owl. The room is stumped, Brody going to
- 39:30Speaker 1: his whiteboard as well as Randall. Now you know the
- 39:34Speaker 1: National Audobond Society believes that sightings of this West Virginia
- 39:38Speaker 1: cryptid are actually an owl. Nate, do you have any
- 39:43Speaker 1: chance of getting this one right?
- 39:45Speaker 4: Got a chance?
- 39:46Speaker 1: Okay? Do you have an answer? Is no, I'm not
- 39:53Speaker 1: going to tell you what a crypti it is unless
- 39:55Speaker 1: another player would like to help you out, but I'm
- 39:57Speaker 1: guessing they don't want to give any hints.
- 39:59Speaker 2: You already got order, got answer?
- 40:01Speaker 1: Do you have this one right?
- 40:04Speaker 4: Randall?
- 40:04Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure?
- 40:05Speaker 1: Okay, Brody, how do you feel about your answer? I
- 40:07Speaker 1: don't have very many Yeah, in your rolodex. Reva thinks
- 40:14Speaker 1: she knows this one. The National Audibond Society believes that
- 40:18Speaker 1: sightings of this West Virginia cryptid are actually an owl.
- 40:24Speaker 1: We have Nate with a one point lead over Randall
- 40:27Speaker 1: and Cal and with a blank whiteboard for Nate. We
- 40:31Speaker 1: are fixing to go to overtime. He said he has
- 40:35Speaker 1: an answer, but it's in his mind. We're gonna we're
- 40:39Speaker 1: gonna need that to wind up on the white board
- 40:41Speaker 1: pretty soon. Phil, What have you gotten this one? Right?
- 40:48Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I knew you would.
- 40:50Speaker 2: And I know why.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Oh I don't know why. You know that he would
- 40:55Speaker 1: know why? So maybe you can tell us after.
- 40:57Speaker 5: Well, yeah, i'd love to know, Fiel, do you know
- 41:01Speaker 5: why r knows why? I have no idea to find out.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Cal, do you give up?
- 41:09Speaker 3: I wrote something down?
- 41:09Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you get it, But go ahead and reveal
- 41:15Speaker 1: your answers. We have chili without an answer, Tresa says,
- 41:19Speaker 1: Yetti removed says moth Man. Randall, moth Man, cal ivorybuild Woodpecker, Nate, Dragon, Brodie,
- 41:30Speaker 1: moth Man. The correct answer is Mothman, meaning Randall got
- 41:36Speaker 1: it right, and him and Nate are going to overtime.
- 41:40Speaker 3: So the movie, which was a fun movie.
- 41:45Speaker 2: A lot of fun.
- 41:46Speaker 1: What is cryptid that's like bigfoots?
- 41:49Speaker 2: Like a cryptozoologist studies animals that don't.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Mockness like the crypto just or like studies animals that
- 42:00Speaker 3: did exist.
- 42:00Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, a cryptozool just studies animals that
- 42:04Speaker 2: don't exist. They probably like a cryptogenetic stroke is a
- 42:07Speaker 2: stroke of an unknown cause.
- 42:08Speaker 1: They're probably studying an animal that's real, thinking it's you know, oh,
- 42:12Speaker 1: I got bigfoot hair here, but it's actually from a
- 42:14Speaker 1: domestic cat. That kind of thing.
- 42:16Speaker 2: It's like a mystery.
- 42:17Speaker 3: It's good jobs.
- 42:18Speaker 1: You can get a degree in cryptozoology. Oh, there's guarantee
- 42:22Speaker 1: there are like underglad undergrad classes for it, but maybe
- 42:25Speaker 1: not degree.
- 42:26Speaker 2: I bet you could get on a web browser and
- 42:28Speaker 2: have a degree in crypt.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Like every lock Nest show has a cryptozoo.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Or have a museum exhibit about it.
- 42:36Speaker 1: There were more than one hundred reported sightings of mothman
- 42:40Speaker 1: between November nineteen sixty six and December nineteen sixty seven
- 42:44Speaker 1: near Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Witnesses described the winged creature
- 42:48Speaker 1: as being tall and muscular, with glowing red eyes. Some
- 42:52Speaker 1: believe that seeing Mothman is a bad omen because of
- 42:55Speaker 1: its connection to the Silver Bridge collapse in nineteen sixty seven.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Locals reportedly saw the creature flying over the bridge before
- 43:02Speaker 1: it fell into the Ohio River and killed forty six people. Now, Randa,
- 43:07Speaker 1: why do you know that Phil.
- 43:09Speaker 2: From the Mothman prophecies? I just assumed that Phil is
- 43:12Speaker 2: a a fellow cinemaphile.
- 43:14Speaker 4: No, I was just into really like weird spooky creatures.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Because they draw it a lot in that the Bridge
- 43:19Speaker 2: disasters reference to that film. And then I just remember
- 43:23Speaker 2: laughing at the drawings. But I don't recall who's starred
- 43:27Speaker 2: in it.
- 43:28Speaker 1: We'll never know. So we do it after this, we're
- 43:31Speaker 1: going to overtime.
- 43:33Speaker 7: It was important to you, British dude, how they just
- 43:39Speaker 7: cut it at if you ain't burst your laughs and
- 43:42Speaker 7: then like going to other stuff.
- 43:43Speaker 1: It's funny, it was. It was Richard Gear. Yeah, it's
- 43:47Speaker 1: gonna pull up the IMDb while we.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Do the I always get it confused with the butterfly effect.
- 43:54Speaker 2: But that's Ethan Sup. He's looking great these days. Oh
- 43:57Speaker 2: he is trim at boxing.
- 43:59Speaker 1: The overtime time topic is hunting, and this is a
- 44:02Speaker 1: numerical question. So whoever is closest between Randall and Nate
- 44:07Speaker 1: will be declared the winner. But the rest of the
- 44:08Speaker 1: room is going to participate and come up with an answer,
- 44:11Speaker 1: because if somebody gets it right on the nose, meat
- 44:13Speaker 1: Eater will add an extra one hundred dollars donation to
- 44:16Speaker 1: the end of the game. Here's the tie breaking question,
- 44:19Speaker 1: how many states have a moose hunting season? How many
- 44:27Speaker 1: states have a moose hunting season? Nate is openly Okay,
- 44:34Speaker 1: there's he's hit his whiteboard. He was listing these states
- 44:38Speaker 1: for all to see. Phil have you seen the Mothmann
- 44:44Speaker 1: Chronicles Prophecies?
- 44:47Speaker 4: It was one of those.
- 44:47Speaker 5: It was one of those movies that i'd see on
- 44:49Speaker 5: a blockbuster shelf, like you know, in the early two thousands,
- 44:53Speaker 5: and because it's got a very kind of striking box,
- 44:56Speaker 5: and I would always wonder what that movie's about.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Mm, yeah, now you.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Know, Now I know. It's Richard Gear and Laura Lennie
- 45:03Speaker 4: Laura Lenny.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Oh, Jurassic Park, doctor Ellie Sadler. That's a paleobotanist.
- 45:09Speaker 4: Is Laura Lenny?
- 45:09Speaker 2: And no, no, I always get her confused. She's yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 2: she's to Laura's the Blondes. Yea Laura Lennie's in Congo.
- 45:18Speaker 1: How many states have a moose hunting season? Mm hmm, Chili,
- 45:25Speaker 1: you got an answer?
- 45:26Speaker 2: I do.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Okay, trust the rev. You got answers, and if somebody
- 45:31Speaker 1: gets it right on the nose, meat eaters generous enough
- 45:33Speaker 1: to make it a six hundred dollars donation instead of
- 45:36Speaker 1: a five hundred dollars donation.
- 45:44Speaker 6: A little unknown fact about the donations that you are
- 45:47Speaker 6: not aware of.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Okay, So since we.
- 45:48Speaker 6: Pay when we the donation gets rided through my card.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 45:54Speaker 3: I get about it.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I'm always glad that when I reminded that.
- 46:00Speaker 6: As a credit cards is going through the room right now,
- 46:03Speaker 6: company credit card. But I get about I'd say close
- 46:06Speaker 6: to one hundred letters a month from all these organizations.
- 46:09Speaker 4: That we don't like.
- 46:10Speaker 1: It's like thank you, Chili.
- 46:12Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like, thank you for your contributation.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Austin.
- 46:14Speaker 6: I'm like, so I'm so generous building bridges with a
- 46:17Speaker 6: lot of people right.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Now, Randall, do you have an answer? I do, Nate,
- 46:22Speaker 1: do you have an answer? Is everybody ready? Cal are
- 46:28Speaker 1: you ready?
- 46:29Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 46:29Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Chili saying seven,
- 46:34Speaker 1: Tresa says three, Riva says five, Cal says ten, Brody
- 46:42Speaker 1: says eight, and our two players remaining, we have Nate
- 46:45Speaker 1: saying eight, Randall saying thirteen.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Eight is not correct.
- 46:50Speaker 1: One of you has it right on the nose. I
- 46:53Speaker 1: mean this will be a six hundred dollars donation. The
- 46:56Speaker 1: correct answer it's thirteen, making rand alur winter, did you
- 47:01Speaker 1: have the right thirteen as well? Here they are. The
- 47:05Speaker 1: thirteen states are Alaska, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Washington, Wyoming,
- 47:16Speaker 1: and Nevada. Minnesota also has a moose hunting season that's
- 47:20Speaker 1: only for tribal members, so they're counting.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I had Minnesota instead of Nevada.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Well that was part of the thirteen.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Oh I see where did I get it wrong?
- 47:29Speaker 1: Then doesn't matter you had.
- 47:31Speaker 3: I'm not concerned about Spencer.
- 47:35Speaker 4: He had.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Couldn't let Nates have his first serious.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Oh God, best, best belated birthday present.
- 47:43Speaker 5: He was a simple caterpillar who went into his crystalis
- 47:45Speaker 5: and became a buddy.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Randall. Where is the six hundred dollars donation? From you
- 47:52Speaker 1: and me Eater going to go.
- 47:54Speaker 2: You know, I'm going to give it to the Montana
- 47:57Speaker 2: Wild Sheep Foundation. They are currently working on a land
- 48:01Speaker 2: acquisition project and they I got an email the other
- 48:04Speaker 2: day that they had a certain target him out there
- 48:07Speaker 2: looking to raise I believe it's some land outside Anaconda,
- 48:10Speaker 2: some some lambing ground, and so I'd like it to
- 48:14Speaker 2: go there and support that work.
- 48:15Speaker 1: I imagine that'll benefit more than just some sheep. Indeed,
- 48:19Speaker 1: six hundred dollars going there from Randall and meat Eater,
- 48:22Speaker 1: I think that's a new group for us to donate.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Fantastic.
