- 6:32to avoid taxes on luxury vehicle purchases. Governor

- 6:42aimed directly at residents who create out -of
- 6:45-state shell companies to purchase and register
- 6:47vehicles while primarily using them in California.
- 6:51State officials estimate that the practice now
- 6:54costs California approximately $20 million in
- 6:58tax revenue annually. The legislation targets
- 7:01arrangements designed to avoid California taxes
- 7:04through shell company ownership. For California
- 7:08supercar owners, the calculation has just changed
- 7:11considerably. Vehicles legitimately owned and

- 9:25back to Power Play. Each week, senior writer

- 9:32Beginning on January 1st, a new tax windfall
- 9:35will benefit numerous rural data center projects,
- 9:38thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This
- 9:42law makes projects on rural land eligible for
- 9:45specific corporate tax benefits. However, experts
- 9:49caution that the impact on rural communities
- 9:51could be mixed. The Opportunity Zone program
- 9:55aims to attract investment, but there are concerns

- 11:15Carlin. And he said, The most unfair thing about
- 11:19life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough.
- 11:23It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get
- 11:25at the end of it? A death. What's that? A bonus.
