Great Falls Barn Fire Leaves Puppies and Chickens Dead | Helena News
A devastating barn fire in Great Falls claimed seven puppies, their mom, and a flock of chickens—though horses escaped unharmed. Firefighters battled flames for over an hour and a half, facing tough access challenges and spreading fire across connected buildings. With all four on-duty crews plus off-duty help and support from Malmstrom AFB and Montana ANG, they finally contained the blaze. The barn is a total loss, but a nearby storage shed may be salvageable. Authorities are investigating the cause but currently believe it’s not criminal.
